had the opportunity to sit down with Victor Cruz at
the Super Bowl. Um, super awesome, dude said, See, he
reminds me of He's just an old soul. He reminds
(03:17):
me of one of them. Dude. You just sit down
on porch outside and watch the cars go by and
they honk and everybody get the deuces as you're driving by. Um,
here's here's our man, Victor Cruze legend for the New
York Giants. For this week's Legendary moment. Love game. Game
presents conversations with a legend and now this is your
(03:42):
legendary moment. Was it your idea to do the sauce
of Dads? Where did it come from? Who told you?
What happened? How to come about? What the style of it?
Whatever it was, it was perfect to you. It was
perfect to the market, it was perfect to the game.
It was a signature of man and football. Where did
what's the origin? So for those that don't know, I'm
(04:04):
half Puerto Rican, So I grew up moms Puerto Rican,
grew up in a very Hispanic household. My grandmother would
teach me all the dances. But I shot that met
angus outside all nine, ten eleven years old. I'm like
growling in the kids team because why are you teaching
me this? So she was like, you're gonna thank me
for this later, and then and then months fast forward,
I get to the league. I'm not even thinking about
the Sauls at the time. I'm just thinking about, you know,
(04:25):
as a free agent. I'm just trying to make this
squad and worry about everything else later, you know what
I mean. So I make the team. It's week three.
Our coach Mike Sullivan, who was an offensive order at
the time quarterbacks coach. He was like, man, you gotta
do something the represential culture, resresential heritage. And I was like,
what are you talking about? Like, I'm just trying to
make sure I catch this football from this Hall of
Fame quarterback right here and make sure I stay out
(04:47):
the whack true, And he was like, you gotta dance.
You've got to represent the end zone. I was like,
all right, if I get in there, I'm gonna do something.
And first catch of the game, sixty four yard touchdown
up the sideline and I remember being at the two
yard and like, I gotta dance the sauce. It just
makes sense. Yeah, dropped up getting it's gonna drop the ball,
start dancing. Grandmother saw it, God blessed that she was
(05:09):
a live guard, saw it, called me, was like, yo,
what was that? Was like this a little sauce? Well,
like me, a little SI seek out for you, And
she was like, you know, as long as you play
in the NFL, why don't you keep doing that dance? Wow?
Locked the fire, I'm saying, they fire and make sure
your search up on game presents. Conversations with a legend.
(05:29):
Check that the whole interview out. Very gracious, dude, super
humble dude. I know plex, you know him real Well,
what what what has your you know, what's what your
memory is finding stories of Victor Cruz man, believe it
or not. Man, Um, you know, my old barber was
one of the best friends. He passed away about a
(05:51):
year ago. And he used to bring Victor to my
crib when I was playing with the Giants and he
was still in college. And I didn't even know who
the guy was because he was a run back playing
at you mask and we just come over, we know,
we shake hands, say what's up. And I didn't even
know who who he was, you know, back in you
know old five and oh six, when I first when
(06:11):
he first got here. And if you know anything about Patterson,
New Jersey, man, I got that community and where he
comes from. Man, come on, man, it's one of the
craziest places in the world. Cities. You know Tim Thomas
and you know Mike, Mike Adams and Victor Cruz, and
you look at where it comes from. He was a
(06:33):
free agent and going into the draft, um basically undrafted,
played running back in college and he makes a switch
over to the be a wide receiver and that's hard.
Come on, that's you know what he was able to
do playing in the National Football League, The way he
(06:57):
came on the scene and how explosive if he was
after he caught the football. I'm saying to myself, I
didn't even know a running back and catch that well.
To make that transition from running back to being an
All Pro wide receiver and to be able to propel
himself in that organization is one of the best players
(07:17):
in franchise history to be an All Pro, go to
the Super Bowl, catch a touchdown in the Super Bowl,
and when he was there with Odell but Obj, I
would go into the Friday meeting the coaching day they
wanted me to. I would go into the Friday meetings
with the wide receivers and just break down film with
him and you know, just teach them, you know, different
(07:37):
details about you know, playing the position. And it's one
thing that always jumped off the page to me about
Victors that he was always receptive to information and he
took it all in everything that you that you had
to teach him, he took it and he put it
(07:58):
in this game and put on the field and it
was great to watch. Man, it was. Now for what
is worth TJ. You were a tailback that switched from tailback,
uh to to receiver? Will take take us into the
mindset of what it would take to not It's one
thing to be a good enough athlete to switch positions.
(08:21):
It's another thing to switch and become one of the
best in the greats in the history of a franchise.
You were able to do the same exact thing. What's
that like? How how do you make that transition? I
mean it had to be much harder for Victor Cruze
than it was for me. Michigan State is doing well
in a basketball game. Uma, get out of here with that.
(08:44):
Michigan State up fifty three, forty nine over Iowa right now.
I mean you gotta think, man, he played college football
as a running back and then transitions to a receiver
in the National Football League after being undrafted. I mean,
his odds are making it or swimming none. You had
already transitioned going into college. Yeah, So I was a
running back all throughout high school. Oh that one season
(09:06):
that I played, and then going into college, I was
just watching TV every I just assumed everybody was big,
and so I was like, Okay, I'm gonna be a
receiver when I go to college. I'm not big enough.
And when I got to college, I was bigger than
all the other running backs, and so I moved to receiver.
In college, you have the toughness because you're always getting hit,
so you're not worried. It's no catch the ball and
(09:28):
slide down like guys were doing when we played. I
didn't do that because I believe playing running back gave
you a sense of toughness because you were always getting
hit and catching the ball is really in plexic. When
we played, You're gonna get hit anyway. That was my motto.
You're gonna hit me anyway, I might as well catch you.
I tell Carson all the time, I'll catch any any pass.
It doesn't matter. For at least fifteen twenty yards you
(09:50):
can throw. It could be foul people right there, set
me up. I'm a pay attention. I don't care because
you're gonna hit me anyway. And I believe Victor Cruz
probably had that same mentality from being a run back.
But to be in a position that he was when
he came out of you Mass and to have the
type of career that he had. How often have we
seen it? Since you don't see this, That's why he's
(10:11):
special because not only did he have to play well
on the field, he man, he was running uphill just
to get on the field and to stay on the field.
And yeah, I'm perplexed. Man, I don't know him, I've
never met him, but he had a great career, hell
of a career. I'll tell you this. I finished my
career with the Giants. He came in pretty much right
(10:33):
after I had departed and finished my career. I had
been a fan of him just because I understood the story.
He was definitely a long shot to make it, and
I just, you know, for me, he was just one
of those guys that you you could feel the type
(10:54):
of person he was not even meeting him. You know,
sometimes you see somebody and you start are pulling for
him because you could just sense that there's somebody that's
somebody I should be pulling for. That was Victor Cruz.
And I ain't gonna lie on a personal note. When
he is telling me about you know how he's half
Puerto Rican and his mom and was teaching him. I
(11:15):
was like, man, I was a little bit envious of him.
I was a tired bit jealous of him. Like, man,
you get the best of both worlds in my opinion. Yeah,
I mean, and you get a little bit older and
you're living in New York like you are. You are
that dude in New York. Oh, come on, man, that
if you want to talk about a perfect storm for
a dude that makes plays and did well in New York,
(11:36):
Victor Cruz would have been the way you would have
drawn it up. But you know he had to do it.
He had to do it then undrafted, he had to
do basically having his own sneaker to having his own
nice crazy man, how about it. Well, now, I'll tell
you what. Speaking of dreams coming true some way, somehow,
the Paul family has really really generated and created a
(11:59):
whole lot of attention surrounding them. In the fight game, Uh,
Jake Paul will take on Tommy Fury, not to be
confused with brother Tyson. That's a whole another animal. But
yet he is taking on a Fury and I am
interested to see how this one plays out. On the
(12:20):
other side of his break will have our expert, our
resident expert Rep. Butler coming on from Pretty Left Hook Podcasts,
and yeah, well you'll want to stay tuned and hear
what he has to say. You're listening to Up on Game.
That's t J huschmans Otta, That's Plexico Burst. I'm LeVar Arrington.
That's how it was sound. That's Ryan Bursinger, That's how
it's a glowing crowd. That's the whole team. That's the
(12:40):
whole up BOYD Game team. We're gonna take quick break.
We'll be right back, all right, welcome back in. Yeah,
it's Up on the Game where we're live from the
tyrte dot com studio. It's Flexico Bursts, TJ huschmans Otta,
I'm LaVar Arrington. And as promised, we got a big
fight taking place tonight. It'd be interesting to see. I mean,
(13:02):
I think it's a big fight. It's tomorrow, by the way,
excuse me, my bad um. And to preview the fight, obviously,
no one can do it better than the best in
the game, that does it the best in the bids.
Bring on our guy, mister Rhett Butler from Pretty Left
Hook podcast. Let's go o. Knowledge is about to be
dropped on your head. I'm ready for the big stage.
(13:26):
Like an upper cut to the chick. Here's Rhett Butler
from Pretty Left Hook. I like that. I like that. Yeah.
I mean, when you're good at what you do, you
get a lot of love. When you're great at what
you do, you gotta respect it. You gotta do what's necessary.
That's how we're gonna bring our man Rhet, mister Rhet
Butler into our show, a wonderful show, Pretty Left Hook
(13:49):
podcast on up on Game h Presents up on Game Network.
What's happening? Uh, mister Butler, what's what's the good word? Man?
Bar t J. Plaque? Are you already? Man? Darius Saudi
Arabia's hosting the World tomorrow two pm Eastern for the
next evolution in boxing. I know we all have a
polarized opinion about Jake Paul and his ascension. But tomorrow, guys,
(14:13):
finally we're gonna see Jake Paul fight what they're calling
a real fighter. Yeah. Yeah. Now, Now with that being said,
Ratt with coming to to the realization of fighting a
real boxer and a real fighter means that you have
to expect real boxer and for real fighter things. I mean,
(14:34):
could this be the death of of what could be
considered a novelty era in the sport. Do you know
what I would say, absolutely not. What I will say
is that, honestly, all the pressures on Tommy Fury, all
the pressures on Tommy Fury, not the death of the
sport because Jake pauls created his own lane. And to
(14:55):
be quite frank, they're calling Tommy Fury a real boxer.
I'm not going to dispute that. What I'll say is
the word real boxer has changed because Tommy Fury checks
off no boxes that boxes I likes. Right, well, he
does have a big brother that's pretty damn famous, right right?
(15:16):
A red is it? This is funny because he comes
from a fighting family, his father and his brother. But
my daughters, no, Tommy Fury from reality TV. They don't
know him as a boxer. They know him from reality TV.
That's all they ever talking about, a reality guy. They
talk about Tommy Fury, and in Molly, I'm like, who
(15:39):
the hell is Molly? That's Tommy Fury. No lie, they
know him from reality TV. So with that being said,
how do we all know this? Jake Paul has made
tremendous gains in boxing, but he picked Tommy Fury for
a reason. Yes, what is everybody missing that Jake Paul
in his his group, his side, or seeing that this
(16:02):
is the perfect opponent, because now people are saying he's
fighting a quote unquote real boxer, because Jake Paul knows
how to take all the air out the room and
deflate your career. He knows that Tyson Fury is the
biggest thing in heavyweight boxing right now, and he knows
that Tommy Fury is adjacent. At the end of the day,
Jake Paul comes from the reality space. Yes, Tommy theory
(16:24):
is known from Molly May in Love Island. That's who
he is, and his brother is the best heavyweight on
the planet. So Jake Paul says, you know what all
I need is that theory last name. Baby, It's gonna
shoot me right where I need to go. And I
think all the pressures on Tommy because at the end
of the day, Tommy's dad and his brother are making
him feel like if you mess with our last name,
(16:45):
it will not be good for you. My man. Man,
I'm just sitting over here saying to myself, Jake Paul
is a lot tougher than people give him credit for
her I really believe that So for Tommy Fury, if
Jake Paul all goes out there and wins this fight tomorrow,
what does that say about Tommy Fury? And and what's
(17:05):
next up for Jake Paul. Okay, a few things. One,
they made a bet live on stage saying that if
Tommy wins that he gets double this person amount and
if Jake wins, Tommy gets no money the contract they
better put it on paper. Yeah, and and here's the
crazy part. They said, literally the father, John Theory, said
(17:27):
to send up the contract because we want to sign
that today. And Jake said, I'll have my assistant Marcos
do that. So I'm saying that to say, number one,
Tommy flew all the way to Saudi Arabia to get
no bread, that might be a possibility. Secondarily, Jake Paul,
what happens to Jake Paul. Legitimacy everybody right now is
a little tight. At the WBC, that's the Green belt,
that's the most respective belt in boxing, and they issued
(17:49):
a commemorative belt called the Daria Belt for this fight.
They also started ranking Jake Paul in the WBC ranking.
So what does that mean in the cruiserweight division, which,
by the way, there is another good fight on the undercard,
which is the co main excuse me, which is Junior
alna Um Makabo versus Bottom Jack for a cruiserweight title.
You see what Mauricio Soliman, president of the WBC, is doing.
(18:11):
He's trying to set Jake Paul up to look like
he could be a contender at some point in the
future in the cruiserweight division. So, to answer your question directly, plex,
that's what's happening. WBC is aligning with Jake Paul. But
Russia just said if Jake Paul wins this fight, it
gives him legitimacy. But he just said that Tommy Fiery
doesn't check off any of the boxes. So I'm just
(18:32):
seven and he's seven to no as a pro, seven
tour as a pro. Yes, yes, I just said he
didn't have the lineage that I would like to call
him what they're calling. When was this last fight? When
was his last fighting? Who did he fight? The guy's
name You're not gonna know, but it was like April
twenty twenty six exactly. That's my point, right. But but
(18:55):
let's be clear here, the heavyweight class is not He's
not it's not it's not they're not heavyweights, right, their
cruiser their cruiser away. So so here, but here's here's
what I'm I'm thinking, Rhett, right, and in this in
this match, First of all, neither one have gone beyond
eight rounds. Right, Fury has never fought a fight beyond
(19:15):
eight rounds, if I if I, if my information on
him is correct, He's only had a fifty percent um
knockout percentage. So out of that that what those seven fights,
I guess you go at three, three to four of
them he had knockouts in those fights. He's not a
knockout guy, so he's gonna he's gonna try, he's gonna
(19:37):
have to box you. But now, your boy, Jake Paul
has been a knockout artist. He has knocked guys out
smooth out too. So and and this and this, I
would say my biggest, my biggest observation observation is Jake
Paul is coming into bigger man here, right. He is
the bigger, bigger guy, I believe. Yeah, he's the A
(20:00):
side on the posters, so that means he's the guys fight.
But he's the bigger guy in size too, right, right,
Like I think he's taller I think I'll say this
during that face off for the at the Williams, Tommy's
furry looks bigger. He looks way bigger. Okay, look at
the video he looked big, all right. So I mean
(20:20):
to me, Jake Paul hasn't really fought anybody that was
more imposing on him in size. He's fault, guy, LeVar,
You're right, he's fault guys that have fought at such
lighter weight than Tyran Wholly fought at one hundred and
seventy when he was in the UFC. Anderson Silvil fought
at one eighty five. So all the guy that he's fault,
(20:41):
they've coming up and wait, right, but Tommy Fury was
fighting as a light heavyweight, so that's one seventy five.
So he's a technical right, So to me, that's the difference.
And if I'm a better, if I'm a better, and
I'm asking you as the expert, if I'm a better,
what am I? How am I viewing this this matchup? What?
(21:02):
How long does it go? Is it? Is it a decision?
I think it's going to be a decision fight. I
don't know why I took earlier this this this week,
I said that they won't make eight rounds. I think
it's because they might get tired, But I mean, I
don't I don't know what If I'm a better, what
what do we do here? Honestly, I'll be quite honest,
(21:24):
if I'm a better, I'm giving it to Jake Paul,
and I'm probably giving the tone by knockout because i
think at this point they're both gonna throw leather and
somebody wants to walk away saying they finished the other guy.
They've been talking for two years, the fight been delayed twice.
It's gonna be a ko. I'm giving it to Jake Paul,
possibly in six rounds. Let me ask you one last
question of a different fight. What's what's the possibility that
(21:47):
we see a cool Stevenson the Javante Davids fight man
Tank that happened, that happened. It'll be twenty twenty four
because now officially April twenty second is Ryan and Tank
in Vegas. Are we gonna that's going to be? Are
we going, Hey going? T J probably gonna be in
the house for that one. Yeah, because it was Hey,
that's not easy fight for Tank, That's not easy fight.
(22:10):
Hold on, hold on, Red, tell them, tell them why
you so you so height? Right now, TJ, go ahead,
give your connection to Tom. I'm not giving them. I'm
a beat here. I'm a beat here. All right. So
it's not gonna be EASYJ know, somebody can't. One of
Garcia his people is one of TJ's people. You know
what I mean, shout out the shout out to the homie,
(22:32):
sip out our I T and T Fitness put them together. Okay,
all right, all right, Well so so if they I mean,
all right, Ryan Garcia Javante, this has got to be
the most legitimate fight for Tank in his career and
for Garcia. To be honest, I think maybe we could
(22:53):
say Garcia has fight maybe tougher, maybe one or two
tougher opponents. Nah, you don't think I think Tank is
by f are fought the tougher competition. I think so.
But absolutely, Okay, okay, sure, okay, okay, good, this is
good then, so because remember what Tank knocked out Leo
Saint the cruise That was the uppercut heard around the world. Yeah,
(23:13):
Leyo was no fool. That dude is serious. He has
stepped up his level of opponent as of late. But
they just didn't look that good against him, And I
mean maybe that's the brilliant zone. I don't think people
realize all of our how tall Ryan Garcia is. He's like,
Ryan is a legit. He's a legit. Five eight, five nine.
Tank is probably five four. You gotta walk through firepower
(23:37):
to get close to Ryan. Ryan, just don't pull back
with your head up. Just boxing, just boxing. You're quick,
you're strong, if you have good power. If he boxes him,
it would be very interesting to see if Tank can
walk through that firepower. What do you think, right, Yeah,
he's gonna walk through the firepower. I'm gonna tell you honestly,
t j um. Yeah, Ryan really gotta have a good
chin man facts the end of the day, and all
(24:00):
he has, hey Red. All Ryan has to do is
give him angles, main tink reset, get him. Just don't
pull back in a straight line. Give him an angle.
Get off to the right, get off to the left.
He's fighting a south pall, so you obviously want to
get off to the to. Ryan's left. Very patient fighter, though,
(24:20):
bro very patient, patient fighter. But did you hear did
you hear Tank when he fought roly Romero? He was strong.
I had to wait him out. Ryan is quicker and
probably stronger than Roy, I'm telling you, and Ryan has
concussive power. I'm looking forward to this fight, bro, like
(24:42):
I'm really looking for. If Ryan fights a smart fight,
it's gonna be really interesting. Up on Game where the
crew is going, we're gonna be there. So whoever got
the plug, If it's TJ, if it's you, We're going
to this fight, right, y'all can catch my man? Uh,
Pretty Left Hook podcast is on up on Game Network,
up on Game Presents. Uh. You're also a writer for
(25:03):
the uh the Shadow League as well. Man, check us
out Savage dot com. We're talking all day there got
something up about bar right now. Man, you'll need to
go check it all out. Man, you are a good man.
We appreciate every time we are here. Are your voil
on here, have a wonderful day. We appreciate you, mine
you two gods? All right? Act back at you? All right,
(25:23):
that's Rep. Butler a Pretty Left Took podcast. Let's get
the low for another update. Hello, you've done that? After this?
I am all right? Hello. We had an historic game
in the NBA on Friday night. The Sacramento Kings outlasted
the Los Angeles Flippers in double overtime, one seventy six
to one seventy five. The three hundred fifty one combined
(25:47):
points made it the second highest scoring game in all
of NBA history. The Kings were down eleven with two
forty one left in the fourth quarter, rallied to force overtime.
In overtime, they were down six with two fift five left,
rat lea to force a second overtime, and then in
double overtime they were down six with one forty seven
left and came back to win the game. Malik Monk
(26:09):
leading Sacramento with forty five points off the bench in
the end. Wait a minute, wait, wait, you got it
in college basketball, there you go. Come on, come on,
make make plex happy. Michigan States, behind twenty points from
Tyson Walker as a seven one sixty six lead over
(26:34):
Iowa shut up with seven forty seven left to play
in the second half. Happy, Now, Yes? Can I move
on to the NFL? Now? All right, We've actually got
a real interesting developing story fellas for you in the NFL. Now.
(26:54):
A short time ago, Miami Dolphins cornerback Byron Jones, who
did not played the twenty twenty two season due to injury,
tweeted what sounded like a potential retirement. Here we go.
Here's the tweet by Byron Jones. Just a short time ago,
he tweeted, quote, today I can't run or jump because
(27:17):
of my injuries sustained playing this game. Do not take
the pills they give you. Do not take the injections
they give you. If you absolutely must, consult an outside
doctor to learn the long term implications. It was an
honor and privilege to play in the NFL, but it
came at a regrettable cost I did not foresee. In
(27:41):
my opinion, no amount of professional success or financial gain
is worth avoidable chronic pain and disabilities. God's speed to
the draft class of twenty twenty three. Now for context,
Jones thirty years old, an eight year veteran, a pro
bowler back in twenty eighteen, and presently three years into
(28:01):
a five year, eighty two million dollar contract with the Dolphins. Fellas,
take it away. I mean we were gonna talk clippers pluck.
That's breaking news. Let's just dude. I was just reading
that literally, as we went to trending, I clicked on
that article and read it. It's uh man. When you know,
(28:23):
you know, man, And I don't know if you mind
me sharing their story, go right ahead. I remember we
was playing that Sunday night game down in Dallas, and you,
you know, you hit the line full speed and sack
Tony Rombo for a safety and you laid down in
(28:46):
the field. Get up, man, let's go. And you walked
off the field and you sat down next to me.
You put your helmet down and you was like, I'm done,
and like we're the first quarter, We're the first it
was a game. You're done for real. Like he was like,
I'm done. I'm I'm thinking that okay, he's out for
(29:08):
the rest of the game. And he was like, I said,
I don't worry about it. Man, He's like, no, I'm done. Done.
So I'm like I was, and I was done, right,
and I was. I never played another he tripping, he's excited, whatever.
So I'm getting myself to go in the game. And
you never played another down the football after that, Well
(29:28):
I did, I did tear bye kills tend Yeah, I
was it. And when you know, you know, when you know,
you know, when you know, you know. But this is
what I find to be a type bit curious about
by Byron Jones saying what he said, don't take the pills,
don't take the injections. I wouldn't have made it now.
He played more, he played longer than me. I only
(29:50):
played seven years because when I was done, I was done.
But I'm not sitting here and listen. This is by
no means uh me trying to defend or or cover
anything up for for franchises. Lord knows, I ain't doing that.
But if I don't, if I don't have those pills,
if I don't have those tordof shots, I'm not making
(30:12):
seven years. I don't make seven yet. That's crazy that
you say that. That is crazy. I don't make seven
years TJ. Like we all we all took pills. We
we all did it them dose packs and you take
the metal packs. What you take five pills on Monday
four on, Like, yeah, you go down, Like I probably
(30:35):
had a hundred of those getting shot up before the game.
But when when you're in it and you're going through it, man,
we're pretty much do anything to play. Man. What you
have to do what it takes to stay in the
game or you are going to get replaced one. So
looking back on it, Byron Jones has made a ton
(30:57):
of money, so he looks back on it at least
it seems as if with some regrets. But that sounds
like lawsuit material to me. That sounds like he's sets
suit said I can't run or jump at all. Yeah,
he didn't stabilities that I have sustained from planning in
the NFL. That's that's definitely so. So he's he's creating liability.
(31:23):
I mean, I love the NFL. The NFL is the
reason why we're doing what we're doing. Football is the
reason why we are in a position and we're on
this network and doing what we're doing. If there's one
thing is the benefits. Just just don't make these former
players run through a ball of fire to get benefits
that were collectively bargained that. That's my only problem is
(31:46):
guys that have the injuries like Byron Jones, Guys that
had the injuries like LaVar Arrington and others. Give them
their benefits so they don't have to hassle over When
I get fifty years old, what am I going to do?
Because when you're tired those first five, six, seven years,
your body feels okay. It's as you get outside of
a decade, fifteen twenty years. Outside of that, that's when
(32:08):
your body is like, oh, I feel like just money.
People like you may be listening to TJ and saying
that's money. It's really the medical benefits. That's all you want.
Are the medicals what you really want? It's the medical benefits,
just so people are clear on that you want the medics.
Just so people that are clear. Like when we retired,
(32:30):
depending on how many years you play, you have an
insurance fund. Once that runs out, you're on your own.
And that runs out for everybody more than likely before
they're fifty, and that's when all the problems kick in. Well,
you're not covered by their insurance. You you would have
to get insurance. And it's it's actually more expensive for
(32:52):
you to get insurance as a former player through the NFL. Yes,
for you to get your own insurance. Just so people
are clear. And the reason why I know that is
because I got a flunk of kids, and you know,
you start to compare. Right when you start to compare contrasts,
like what it is that it looks like to put
people on the insurance playing You're like, wait, hold up,
it's more expensive to get in short about a league
(33:16):
through the league than it is to do it yourself.
That that is crazy, that's crazy. But but also to
to Byron's point. To Byron's point, I will say this
to those who make the conversation about concussions a large
conversation of not knowing what concussions do to you. Sure,
(33:38):
we don't know the exact letter of the law what
a concussion can do to us when it happens, but
we do know that it alters us. You do know
that there is an impact when you get a concussion.
I will say this, I don't know what all of
them towards all shots did to me. I don't I
don't know what all I don't know what taking those
those purpose sets at at a thousand and two thousand milligrams,
(34:01):
I don't know what those dead to me long term.
I know I had to flutch them out. I know
I had to get a blood test to make sure
that my my my liver and kidney function was what
it was supposed to be. I know all of those things,
but I don't really know the long term. We're not
even fifty years old, none of us. We're not even fifty.
And I moved like I'm sixty. I moved. I moved
(34:23):
like I'm sixty. Yeah I as well. Yeah I do,
I can too. Yeah, but we're not even fifty years old.
And and that's the we have kids. Man. We all
want to see our kids grow up and experience success,
but you want to be able to mode them and
help them along the way. And that's a scary part
as we get old chipped teeth though I'm still a
toothfif we know you a tooth chip bo. Don't don't
(34:44):
let this old man strength. Uh you know what I mean.
Don't let it get ahold of you. Now you'll be
able to run away from me. And just and just
know this, if it's a herd or wild lions or
bears or whatever it may be, just know this. I'm
gonna push one of y'all down, because all I gotta
do is be faster than you. You're listening up. Hey,

Jonas Knox will be coming up next shortly with j
K S The Jakass Show that's also known as the
Jonas Knox Show. But before we get up out of here, guys,
Uh Russ played last night for the Clipperson. So we
(37:13):
talked about one Russ earlier. We're talking about the other
Russ and and UH professional sports UH Russell Westbrook. How
did you guys think he did he play? He put
seventeen points up. UH had a had a good game.
I mean he did have I want to say seven
turnovers I believe was the number. That's that's quite high.
And you know, obviously turnovers was the reason why they
(37:34):
lost UH the game. As Tyron Lou mentioned, what what
What was your guys' opinion on Russell's debut as a clip.
I watched the game. I thought Russell Wilson Westbrook played
pretty well. Man. He had fourteen assists, he did have
I believe a ton he did have. I believe it
was six turnovers. But it was a really good game.
(37:56):
He was seven yea. Malik Monk played well. Fox play well.
It was stout. It was weird though. I don't know
if Paul George was on like a minute restriction because
after the first overtime he was just on the bench,
just chilling watching and he hadn't fouled out, and so
he was on a minute restriction, so it kind of
fell on us. Yeah, he fouled out in the second
(38:20):
overtime though, so he played quite a bit the fitt
The Clippers have shooters, and so Russ can do it.
He can penetrate, he can get lay up, he can
kick it out to the shooters. I thought he I thought, yes,
I do like the move. I liked him move. I'm
a fan of Russell Westbrook. Man. I thought he took
a lot of a lot of heat because the Lakers
didn't play well. But it wasn't his fault. It wasn't
(38:42):
it wasn't just fall at all. Uh. When when Russell
Rust was traded to Utah, it really didn't make any
sense to me, and I didn't think he was a
good fit of Uta anywhere looking for him. He was
able to get a buy out from the from the
Utah Jazz to go to the to the Clippers. But
him going to the Clippers just made sense. I said
it a few weeks ago. It's going to give him
(39:02):
an opportunity to to take Kawhi Leonard and Paul George
off of the basketball and make him the dominant ball
handler on that team. To talk about seventeen points and
fourteen rebounds last night, but look at his supporting cast.
He has guys that can that can shoot the basketball
and get to the basketball score some points. So I'm
expecting Russ to go in there and average a double double,
(39:26):
especially when you're playing US are hall of famers like
Paul George and Kawhi Lenard. Yeah. Man, it'll be interesting
to see because most people will look at it and
say the turnovers were the reason why they lost that game.
They last night, they did have a they did have
a big league about six six point League League. Monk
is the reason they lost that game. That man was
(39:47):
on fire, malikue Monk is the reason they lost, not
them turnovers. He did have a game on him. That's
t J. Hutchman's out and that's Plexico Burst. I'm LaVar Arrington. Yeah,
we've been putting you up on Game Sparty. Oh oh
my gosh. Well make sure you gotta stay locked in
and tuned in to Jonas Knocks coming on in. All right,
(40:08):
all right til next week. We'll check y'all out, Yes,
sir
