the locker room, Like I don't play with some dude.
Speaker 4 (00:22):
That you disrespect them anyway.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
It didn't matter who it was they was putting hands
on you and Blaxico bur they.
Speaker 5 (00:28):
Are the same person, the same exact quarterback.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
It's a show with three I'm the best to ever
do it on and off the field and no Live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios, here's pro bowler TJ.
Hushman Zanna and Super Bowl champion blaxicoper Us.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Welcome back into the second hour. It's up on game
on Fox Sports Radio. That's Flexico first, Hooshman's hot us
and if y'all been locked in with us, man, y'all.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
Know what goes on in this second hour. Man, y'all
know what we got to get into it.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
And this is gonna be a nice little conversation. She
even know us being talked about, it talked about. We're
gonna talk about it again. Because our viewpoint is always
gonna be a little different and in a little more
live there than everybody else. So let's go ahead and
bring you in. Man, go ahead and drop his theme music.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Now it's time to check in with Cuffs, the legend
from Some Dude Show podcast on Up on Game presents,
Cuffs says, giving you a spicy tags, what's going down?
Speaker 4 (01:40):
Help you to pack the heat like Lebron And.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Now here's Cuffs the legend.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
It's go time, Legend, Man Cuss, welcome into the show,
my boy. We gonna get straight into it because we
I'm sure this gonna be a nice little convo. Eighty
three points. Man, let's get straight a first off. First off,
because I hope you're doing well. Help the fan. Well,
(02:07):
now let's get straight into it, man. Eighty three points. Bam, Man,
what come on, bro talk to us?
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Man? First off, Man, is warm and sunny in North
Carolina today. Man, you know I'm over here with plaque
on the East coast, you know, and my lady we
got our grocery shopping in. I just took my Crea
team gummies. You know, I'm trying to be like y'all. Man,
I'm trying to be spokes like, y'all. But before we
get into BAM, before we get into BAM, out of
bios eighty three point masterpiece, I'm tapped in. I'm listening
(02:36):
into the show, and it's so much good college basketball
and NBA basketball going on right now that I got
to admit I'm a baseball fan, but I haven't really
been tapped into the World Baseball Classic. And I apologized,
but I just want to ask y'all. I heard you
talking about the DR. Is One Toto on the DR
(02:57):
right too. Yeah, Manny Maado and Fernando tatt Yeah, I'm
explaining to y'all this way. I look at a roster man,
and it's like the dream team. It's the dream team
of baseball for the for.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
The d R.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yeah, for the d R.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
Yeah, for sure. They went out there. They just put
ten runs on career yesterday, man. And I'm sitting here like,
and they made it look easy too. It was just
like they really went out there and put it to them.
So it's a bit tough game for us tomorrow, man,
no doubt about it. It's all it all comes down
to bragging rights, baby bragg and right.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Have y'all noticed this about the DR players. They all
have the big million dollar smiles, right, like the happiest players.
Like you said, the energy, yeah yeah, charisma, Like my
barber is Dominican and he reminds me of a wom Sodo,
like he wear its hat backwards. And I'm gonna tell y'all,
these guys had that passion because look where they grew up.
Speaker 5 (03:59):
Man, Man, they get it out the mud for.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Real, Yeah, they get out the mud is very tough,
humble beginnings. I actually know somebody right now, a teenage
kid from the US who him.
Speaker 6 (04:10):
And his mother moved to the d R so he.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Can get that training in the grassroots system because he's
a shortstop for young shortstop. And it's like they say,
the training that they get over there is totally insane
compared to American kids.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
Wow, yeah, that that game is gonna be something.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
But just just watching them play, man, that energy, like
it's like they've taken it back to how they grew up.
They they they playing like their kids. They enjoyed the game, right, Yes, yes,
now this is gonna be the Keto. They don't got
the pitching that we got. They do not have a
(04:49):
pitch and that we got Paul Skan's on the mound tomorrow.
So I saw all. I'm gonna say, Paul Skins on the.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Mountain, the nick Nolan Ryan to y'all, Do y'all see
Nolan Ryan.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
The game, Roger Clinton come? It sure looks like it's
sure man, It's crazy. Man.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
I've been knowing Paul Skins since he was in high school. Man,
my daughter trained what he meant and got the knowing, Hey, David,
he gonna bring it home for us.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
But TJ never never answer your question. Never in a
million years, Never in a million years. Like all my
years watching basketball, I never thought I would see of
all players, man, all in the NBA right now. If
you would, if you would have healthy right now, Cuff
write a list of guys in the NBA right now,
(05:38):
on current rosters that could score fifty points in the
game right I don't think I would have put Band's
name on.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
That list, Cuff.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Is it because he came into the league as a
defensive player and he was looked at as being offensively challenged.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
So quick backstory, y'all know I'm from North Carolina. You
say you watch Paul Skins as a kid, I've seen
bam since he was an elementary school kid from Pine
from Pinetown, the most far eastern side of North Carolina,
like he is from the most rural part. It's beautiful
out there because they got beaches there near the water,
but it's so isolated from like civilization, if you get
(06:17):
what I mean, Like people were bamming from. It's people
that's still wearing like clothing lines that's totally out of style.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Like ten years old.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
No, I mean that in a way to where like
they're so far it's a two to three hour drive
just to get to Raleigh Durham, so it's like they're
so far away from everything. So to see his humble
beginning growing up in the single wid trailer, like I
did myself, Like we're from the trenches man, so I
got to bucks walking him do that. It's like that's
(06:46):
why I say basketball is a beautiful game and the
basketball guadge is real because they chose a player who
came out of Kentucky, like we all said, like this
guy was a utility guy coming out with elite athleticism.
He reminded me of Antonio at mcdie's level athleticism, athleticism
and Amar when Amari was young with Phoenix, that's who
(07:07):
he reminded me of. In high school, they were calling
Bam Kevin Garnet in North Carolina, like where we're from.
He was like Kevin Garnett with muscles if you wanted,
like bodybuilder like he was. He always had that broad shoulder.
He was a big kid. He been in high school.
So he went to Kentucky.
Speaker 6 (07:23):
But Kyler Perry, he didn't use him.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
As an offensive weapon and all. He was a screen setter.
He called a couple of lobs here and there, got
a couple of dunks. But he was never known for
his mid range game, which he's improved on. His three
ball is nice now. And the other night is what
you call what I called go to hell ball. That's
what you saw. I've been I've coined that phrase, like
(07:46):
since I first ever got on social media, and everybody
always asked me, like what is that. That pretty much
means when you get the ball and you tell the
rest of your teammates to get the hell out of
the way. And that's what we saw. That's what we
saw from Bam the other night. If we had never seen,
we had never see, we had never.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Mean again, that type of player because man, last time
I checked, man, eighty three points was eighty three points.
It doesn't matter how you get there, because it has
has It's only been done once.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
What he has eighty three.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
Everybody knows about Kobe's historic eighty one, and will it
is the leader. But what I don't understand is my
this kid?
Speaker 4 (08:24):
What uh?
Speaker 5 (08:25):
The coach for the Wizards, Brian Keith, why would he
call it unethical basketball? What is he trying to say?
It was unethical?
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Yeah? It was, Come on, bro.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
They missing free throws, they fouling like normally when you
wining in the game, you don't play that way. All
I'm saying is this, I don't ever ever want to
hear anything about heat culture again ever, heat cultured nothing,
That don't mean that no more, Eric Sposhi. Once you
did this, he heat culture goes out the window.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
What get it?
Speaker 2 (09:00):
I get it? Like this what we saw in that
second half, in that third and fourth quarter, Bam was playing.
Y'all remember we played twenty one as kids, and it
was like, you know, when it's more than four or
five of us, it gets serious when somebody get to nineteen, right,
So that whole entire second half was as if Bam
(09:21):
had nineteen. He was playing full court twenty one like
it was four defenders on him. So I will say,
if anybody don't like this eighty three, I would say
he got eighty three and it was a tough eighty three.
Do you understand the physical shape you have to be
in where guys are tugging on your body and buffing
you and dragging on you the whole game and elbowing you.
(09:43):
So that's why I say Bam and Yannis are probably
the only two guys that can physically pull this off.
Like I'm gonna ask y'all real quick, who else in
the NBA could get eighty three in that shape to
do it?
Speaker 6 (09:56):
Luca can't get eddy three.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
He's gonna have to just make a bunch of threes
to do it, like who else.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
You do have to be I mean, taking forty three
free throws, all those shots running up and down the court,
they trapping you. It's not easy. You have to be
in great shape. That that is. No, we're not questioning that.
I just don't like the heat culture. You know, they
they operate differently than every organization. This ain't got nothing
to do with mam. This got something to do with
Spostra in a way. They seem to operate as a
(10:27):
team in an organization. Now if that kind of went
out the window to me, it felt like and that that.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
That you're saying your lost respect a little bit for
this whole little I get what you're saying, like they
have been pushing this heat culture because if you watch
this press conference they did they did ask spoke the
question and said I'm not apologizing to anybody, and that's fine.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
So just just don't bring up that culture no more.
That's fine.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
So did y'all notice this when y'all watched that fourth quarter,
there was a moment that there where sposure was almost
about to take Bam out. As you remember, remember, yeah, yes,
like I want to say he had it was he
was way under eighty one. But I remember.
Speaker 6 (11:10):
Tweeting like, no, folks, keep it me because I don't care.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
What nobody's say. I wanted to see the kid do it.
At this point, It's like, I want to get one
hundred points. He's a North Carolina kid that grew up
in a single wide trailer. I want you to get
a hundred points. I don't care if it's art rivals basketball,
hey get a hundred points. Because guess what, Will Chamblain
is number one, and we still don't have any footage it.
(11:33):
We have never seen it. So in my opinion, Bam
got the all time leader record because we've never seen
Will Camberling footage. So until you see, until we see
Will Camblin one hundred game footage, band the all time
leader scorer in a single game.
Speaker 5 (11:46):
You know, speaking of Wil Chamberlain, what we do have
footage of is SG a man? So tell us, tell
us what you think about one hundred and twenty seven
straight basketball games with twenty points or more. Later, bucket,
one hundred and twenty seven straight basketball games. It has
(12:07):
been a clipse by SGA passing the great Chamberlain.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
What do you think about that?
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Y'all know, y'all know I'm the spiky man. I'm Louisiana
howsaus man. Y'all know I'm a spiky man. Can we
keep his spicy plays? Why can we keep his spicy TJ?
Like I got, I gotta get this off, Okay, SGA,
this is very uncomfortable to a lot of people's favorite player.
So if you're listening, right now. This might be uncomfortable
for you because your favorite player is your favorite player.
(12:35):
If I told you all this, y'all been listening. I said,
if SGA continues to put the ball in the basket
at this stage for four or five, six more years,
and he puts championships on top of the stats, we're
gonna look at him as the greatest scoring guard to
ever play basketball. That's ahead of Kobe and Mike.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
Statistically. What we're saying, but.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
He's What I'm saying is if he's stacked the championships
with the stats, what can we say now he's scored.
The reason I say that is he's scoring the basketball
and it's so effortless, like it's like a video game.
It's literally like, are y'all, y'all need thirty five tonight?
There's nobody can nobody can stop them. So this is
(13:23):
what I want to see, plax. I watched the game stealthy.
Y'all thought the Celtis in the other night right the
thunder and ye y'all watched it. You see what Jaylen
Brown said after the game, right like, I'm tired of
the you know, the foul bacon man. I don't got
to play that way. That's the NBA Finals that I
want to see. That's what we want to see. I'm
telling you, if we can get that finals, it's going
(13:44):
to go seven games. And this is what I want
to see. I want to see Jayalen Brown sitting down
moving the puppies. Because now y'all talking in the mediaf
he ain't really saying nothing. He's a quiet guy. The
Canada guy. You've seen the first.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
You've seen the first.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
It was all about, Yeah, we thought that out I
could go in New York. We know he did. I'm
gonna get my buckets. Ain't talking too much. I'm just
telling y'all, if we get that finals matchup, it is
going seven games. But Jay's gonna go down as the
greatest bucket getter of all time to be keep this up.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Play well, you know what we're gonna do. We gonna
have this discussion. I want to continue to have a
discussion about bucket getters. I like where we're going with this.
We gonna take a break, but were gonna finish this
discussion when we come right back. Best flex of Coebears.

What I got ill talk to us cuffs.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Hey, Halloa, you know it's a lot of haters in
the media that would hate No Bam. So we gotta
come together and get these media herds out of here.
So we gotta figure for their own we gotta add
the media. God, what are what is their career on?
So I gotta I gotta ask you what. I'm not
saying you a herb, but what's your career?
Speaker 4 (17:04):
What do you mean?
Speaker 8 (17:04):
I'm not saying you are herb? Hey, listen, listen, Buster.
I was all split rail drive four years in a row.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
What you a driveway London day?
Speaker 8 (17:22):
No, I was both a driveway legend, then a street legend,
then a playground legend. I mean they retired my jersey.
Of course it was for sanitary purposes. But anyway, after
yet another great play during my athletic career, here was
my trademark statement.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Sound familiar.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
We speaking.
Speaker 8 (17:57):
Speaking of not missing Dj Armstrong of you UMBC was
not missing in the America East Championship game just moments.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Ago Tom Star, then a leftwick step back pre.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Pat foul pits.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
God he had it following it to the fans courtside.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Plus a foul strong coming off.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
I don't min anyway.
Speaker 8 (18:18):
Our shrog finished with thirty three points, nine out of
eleven shooting from the field, seven out of nine from
three point range as Maryland Baltimore County advanced to the
NCAA Tournament victorious over Vermont by a final score of
seventy four to fifty nine. Right now Big Ten Tournament
semi Final number twenty three Wisconsin out to an early
(18:38):
twelve nine lead over third ranked Michigan SEC semi Final
Number four Florida and number twenty two Vanderbilt tied at
fourteen nine minutes in. And in the MIAC Tournament Final,
North Carolina Central to a fifteen to nine lead over
Howard nine minutes in. In the NFL, running back Jerome
Ford has agreed to a one year deal with the
Washington Commanders. Forty nine Ers reached structure the contract of
(19:01):
pass rusher Nick Bosa, creating seventeen million dollars worth of
salary cap space. The Cincinnati Bengals signing veteran quarterback Josh Johnson.
This is I'm not making this up. The twenty sixth
stop of Josh Johnson's pro career, and it's his third
stop with the Cincinnati Bengals alone min and neither does
(19:23):
Josh Johnson.
Speaker 4 (19:24):
I know.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Mis back to you guys.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
That's classic, man. I love boy.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
You're creative with that, all right, So this is what
I want to talk about. Had a discussion other night
and we were talking about the greatest bucket getters, the
greatest scores in the last twenty years, and I was
saying it was Kevin Durant and SGA may soon take
(19:54):
that over. My other people were saying it was Luca
and it ain't close, and I just couldn't.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
I couldn't agree with that. Let's talk about it.
Speaker 5 (20:05):
So when we're talking about being a score of the basketball, uh,
it's different from being the best.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
Shooter of the Oh, yeah, for sure, for sure.
Speaker 5 (20:17):
Okay, So I don't understand how you can put Luca
before you put in James Harden, because he has been
one of the best scores of the basketball that we
have seen in the last two decades.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
So I agree with.
Speaker 5 (20:35):
Kevin Durant and I agree with James Harrison, I mean
James Harden. I'm sorry, but just listening to what Coups
had to say about SGA, I don't think we really
appreciate the way the craft of his basketball game because
it's so nonchalant and you say to yourself, like, man,
(20:57):
how's this guy getting thirty two points at night? And
he makes it look so effortless, and Cups, I agree
with you.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
I think you exactly good. You are correct.
Speaker 5 (21:10):
If he does happen to win another championship or two
and he continues to score the basketball at the alarming
rate that he is now, absolutely agree with you that
he will become the best score of the basketball that
we've ever seen.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
So, I mean, before you go, coups, let me tell
you what was said about Lucas averaging thirty. He's averaging
over thirty in the playoffs. It may not look pretty,
it may not be athletic, but it's more than effective.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
Now you can go that was a Luca argument.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
Like all of my years being in the gym, like
twenty plus years, like actually being a skilled developer trainer
in real life, like people just seem all time I
joke eror and I do the Twitter, I do the
social media, Like I'm really a guy that really develop
a lot of players in my home state. And I
always tell kids to this day, like I look at
scoring like a salad, like a salad that you eat.
(22:10):
Like it's all about like the aesthetics sometimes when it
comes to fans and when you look at when you
look at like a salad, you can have all types
of mixtures, right when you go to a salad restaurant
or a salad bar. Nobody's salad really the same, right,
and it's all about how you like it. It's the same
when we watch basketball, when we watch people who score
like you might like Kevin Durant, just the way it
(22:32):
looks aesthetically when he drives that one dribble pull up,
two dribble pull up, and it just looks so grateful.
Kevin Durant is what thirty six, thirty seven, and it
still looks like a teenage boy every time. He just
raised up and just gosh. So if you, if you
a fan, and your eyes aesthetically like that, you might
say that looks better than how Remember Kevin Martin from
(22:54):
the Sacramento Kings many years ago, when he was averaging
like over twenty points a game, like six seven years,
nobody thought about him on no Sports Center or nothing,
because why his.
Speaker 6 (23:04):
Game was ugly, like his jump shot was like ugly, but.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
It was an anesthetically pleasing And that's the point I
say about a salad like ooh, that's a nice salad,
like mellow, the triple Threat game, the jab step game.
If you're a fan of footwork and that mastery of
the footwork like a Kobe, you would say Kobe the
greatest scorer. Me personally, I'd say the greatest scorer ever
is Braun because he has the most points, that he
(23:29):
has his longevity doing it right. But people don't put
Braun in that conversation.
Speaker 6 (23:34):
With the Lucas, with the with the six.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Nine guys that can score. Here's what I'm saying. For
some reason. I think it's because Braun has a bulkier
frame and it looked funny when he when he does
a move compared to like an SGA has like I
called him the pink panther. It's aesthetically As a basketball fan,
Paul George aesthetically pleasing game to the eyes of the kids.
(23:57):
Kids like Paul George sneakers because he played smooth.
Speaker 6 (24:01):
You can't tell me.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
Paul George is not the smooth one of the smoothest hubers.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Right. It looks so smooth when you're watching it, for sure,
so smooth.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Right. So when you watch Luca, when Luca get these
buckets as well, it's like, man, how is he doing that?
He has no muscle tone, he has no athleticism for you,
and it's like, wow, That's what I like about Luca
because he doesn't have the physical attributes as as like Sga.
Sj is way more athleticy athletics gets it done, I say, Luca, right,
(24:29):
and like even Jokic, we don't put Yolkics in this
scoring conversation enough because I feel like he's such a
playmaker for others and he's an assist guy as well. Man,
you can't tell me Yokic. If Yokics decided right now,
you know what, I'm gonna average thirty thirty five next year.
Yokis can average thirty if he really wake up and
say he want to average thirty, and then people might not
respect that the same because once again, back to the salad,
(24:52):
I don't like how that salad looks. You know what
I'm saying. I don't like how it looks. So that's
how I always quantify when I look at like scoring man,
because right now the league is in such a great place,
like look, look how Giannis has gotten it done in
the last couple of years. When Yannis first came, his
game was of the lead the first six seven years. Right,
the last couple of years, y'all is to shoot fadeaway
(25:15):
jumpers on the base line. You know he's doing more stuff.
Once again, it's back to how you view it and
what looks good?
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Are you as okay? So right now, if you.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
And this's gonna be a two part of question, i'ma
ask you the first one first, obviously giving me right
now in the NBA. Guy's playing right now, top five
scores in the NBA right now?
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Well, definitely is Luca is ant Man?
Speaker 4 (25:43):
For sure?
Speaker 2 (25:43):
We had tech. We're not talking about ant Man enough.
We gotta put Jalen Brown in there because he's pretty
much averaging thirty. Nobody want to talk about JB enough,
even though I guess they look at him more of
I guess like he does our everything. You know, he's
the glue guys who was a superstar. He plays defense.
So that'll be my three? Uh? Who am I leaving
that out? Devin Booker pure score. I feel like he
(26:06):
can average thirty. He needs better pieces around him. And
I was did I say, look already right, Luca? Who
I'm missing man Luther Man? I would say, a health
a healthy Joe l embiid. I mean that's a walking thirty.
If he's healthy, it's a walking thirty. But like all
those guys, right, there. They all do it in different ways.
(26:27):
The guy that most reminds me of Michael Jordan, though,
is Anthony I feel like and his top three player
in the league right now, Like just last couple of nights. Man,
Like you see Steph Curry's face last night when at
hit nine shots in a row.
Speaker 3 (26:39):
Brot, Yeah, I saw that they smacked them.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Who you got, plex? Who you got? Are my top
five scores in the league? Yes?
Speaker 5 (26:52):
Come on, man, hey when what it just just just
like uh, just like Coe said, what would you call it?
Get the hell out of the way basketball. If your health,
if go to hell ball, if the joker decides to
go out and play that kind of basketball.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
I believe that he can average forty a night. I
really do.
Speaker 5 (27:13):
As being uh the league scorer in the NBA obviously
Kevin Durant when he's healthy, Joe l Embiid and when
Jannis is healthy, he's up there and for five I got.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
I gotta go with that. Man. I just think that
I didn't.
Speaker 5 (27:34):
I didn't really think that I would see him take
such a large leap scoring the basketball. So it shows
me that man, in the off season, man, this man
has been working on this jump shot. Everybody was just
scared of getting basically getting blown by on the perimeter
and get going on a poster and getting dunked on.
(27:54):
Now that this man has added this jump shot to
his repertoire, man, I just think for the next decade,
this man, if he can, hopefully maybe one day get
to an NBA Finals, he is going to be right
up there with somebody the best to ever do it.
When we're talking about the leaguing scores in the NBA.
(28:17):
All right, now, this this is another one. I want
to ask y'all.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Game on the line, mm hmm down one, who you
want with the ball?
Speaker 4 (28:28):
I want Steph Curry. I want to I want a
healthy Steph curR.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
Would give me three guys, Plaxe, give me three guys.
Game on the line, down one. NBA Championship Game.
Speaker 5 (28:41):
Seven, game game seven, giving me, uh, Steph Curry one.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
Give me Kevin Durant too and Duck Davinski three no.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Active players active players, active player players, yes, right now
playing that number three.
Speaker 5 (28:55):
Uh, give me Jason Tatum, Give me healthy Jason Tatum.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
I'll tell I'll take him.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
At It's it's s J for me, man. S J
is a is the he is the silent killer, He's
the assassin s J for me all day, money on
the line, I'm going with him. I would go with
Steph as well because he just had this. His shot
making ability is just that touch. Man. He just you
(29:20):
saw in the Olympics how he saved us from coming back.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
Man.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
I would say third is between Durant and look, Kevin
Durant and Bron Braun. Man, I'm going with Bron. I'm
always gonna believe, man, I'm always gonna believe Bron gonna
find a way. So I'm going with Bron. With the
game on the line, We've not seen it happen. He
got the most clut shots to anybody black, So what's
what's we're talking about here? Man?
Speaker 5 (29:45):
But yeah, I just like I just like my Steph
Curry at one.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
The rant with the rantings going in every time, right
when you're raised.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
That's how I feel.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
But you know what this shows me, because everybody has
such a different opinion on this, It's just so many
really good players in the NBA. You got the older players,
you got you got Kadi, you got Lebron James, you
got Steph Curry. Then and then you got the younger players.
You got the SGA, you got Anthony Edwards, you got Luca,
you got Jokic. Oh, and I'll say, oh, they're not young,
(30:18):
but they're they're in that in between phase. You you
got the Giannises, you got the Jason Tatums. It's just
so you got Devin Booker. That kind of gets overlooked
at times. There's so many good young players. And I
didn't even bring up Kate Cunningham and those dudes. Like
it's just so many good players, great.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
Minds thinking like because that's what I wanted to say
next before we before we go, because there's a lot
of calls basketball too, but these NBA playoffs are gonna
be some of the like the I feel like we
don't get seven game series in a lot of these series.
And like you said, that infusion of I feel like
we see in the passing of the torch because the
young boys is right.
Speaker 6 (30:58):
There on the OG's heads.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
Now that on the heads they right there, like look, man,
it's time for your old heads to right off with
to the Thursday. You know what I'm saying, get out
of here. Like Wendy and the Spurs, they come.
Speaker 5 (31:08):
He's a walking he's a walking thirty man.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
That's what I'm saying when nobody brought up Wenby, nobody
brought up Jalen Brunson, that it's clutch like it's that's
how many really good players are in the NBA right now.
It's a really good scores like, it's so many the
pace guys are better than ever.
Speaker 4 (31:29):
And you can attribute to Doude fifty one points, ten rebounds,
nine assists. I ain't here about it.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
Crazy crazy, but hey, but you know what we got.
We gotta take a break, right But I want to
get back to that because when Lebron don't play, Austin
Reeves and Luca go to work and the Lakers do
very well. I want to talk about that comes because
I know you got a lot to say about that.
But if we get into it now, we gonna miss
(32:00):
the break. We're gonna be right back. That's Cuffs the Legend,
that's Pleax Coberis. I'm TJ. Houschmanzada. This up on Game
Fox Sports Radio. Will be right back. Welcome back in
to up on game. I'm TJ. Houshimzada. That's Plexic Coberas
and that is Cuffs the legend, and before we went
(32:22):
to break, I pose a question. The Lakers seem to
be better when it's Luca in Austin Reeves. Lebron came back,
he kind of took a back seat, but he's only
gonna take a back seat a game or two.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
Then he gonna get right back to doing what he do.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
What is your take on that that the Lakers, it's
a good sample size. They played better when Lebron isn't playing.
I mean the pecan order. We know it's Luca, we
know it's awas Lebron comes back, I think that pecan
order kind of gets skewed a little bit.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
Talk to me.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
I think it's like being having an AAU background and
seeing kids develop chemistry on the team. It's as simple
as that. Where you see Luca and Austin Reeves, they
have that energy and the synergy as a duo because
they're similar in age and Braun is the older guy,
so just naturally they're gonna look at Braun even though
(33:19):
he's their teammate, and they love Braun. It's just like
you the old head at the park, Bro the young
we the young killers. They got the energy about them right,
and it is it is fun to watch like a
are the other night. I mean, you're talking about tow
back player. He looked like Bobby Surrey at Florida State, Bro,
But we're handled, we even better handles. Like he was
doing whatever he wanted to do out there, and it
(33:40):
is nice to watch. But I will say, man, we're
keeping this spicy. It looks good some nights when they
doing that, but I have yet to see them do
that in a situation against really, really really championship contender
type teams. Like doing that against Minnesota is cool, that's
a sixth seed, but can they beat Minnesota seven games?
Do all dye think they're gonna be Minnesota and seven?
(34:02):
Did they see him again?
Speaker 4 (34:03):
No?
Speaker 2 (34:03):
Like that? That's my thing. Like to the Laker fans
and saying that, Broun, I've seen Laker fans say that
Lebron Damn James should come off the bench.
Speaker 4 (34:13):
Bro like that right there?
Speaker 2 (34:16):
Well, look, that is what I call the some dude
level ten mental illness. That's a level ten mental illness
to say the whole leader scored to come off the bench. Bro,
what are we doing? Lebron is not bred out, is
what I'm.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
Saying now Lebron shouldn't come off the bench, but at
some point it should be okay, can he play every
game like he played the other night. I'm gonna be
take minimal shots. I'm gonna be more of a distributor
and not be as aggressive.
Speaker 5 (34:50):
But we had this conversation months ago met Cuffs and
you TJ when when Lebron James is inserted back into
the lineup, what is going to be the chemistry of
the basketball team. Everybody knows that Luca's a ball dominant
player and all fifteen is not the same player when
(35:11):
Lebron's in the game. He actually takes away from the
team when he's there.
Speaker 4 (35:17):
And that's what I honestly believe I'm being I'm being serious.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
The game reason I'm laughing because I'm just thinking, like,
just be careful what wish for. I'm thinking about Laker
fans and saying the same narrative because when they run
up against the Minnesota Timber Puppies in their first round,
it is not going to look like it looked the
other night. That's what I'm telling Laker man. It's gonna
be frustrating. And here's here's putting this in the cloud.
Speaker 6 (35:45):
I love what you hear.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
If the Lakers play the Nuggets or the Timberwolves, Lakers, Lakers,
Timberwolves were getting a preview tonight, by the way light yep,
So I want to see all three tonight because he
outplayed a man the other night, which I called it before.
Speaker 5 (36:01):
We're talking about seven games, though, yeah, exactly, So seven games.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Do y'all think that Austin and ar are going to
get past the Timberwolves.
Speaker 4 (36:11):
I don't believe.
Speaker 5 (36:12):
I don't believe they get past Minnesota or they get
past the Denver Nuggets in a seven game series.
Speaker 4 (36:18):
I would would assume that you guys are saying the same.
It's just too much consistency for them to keep up.
Speaker 5 (36:25):
I just really believe that because you because you know
what you're gonna get out of the Joker for seven games,
and you know what you're gonna get out of Ant
for seven games.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
And the Lakers cannot.
Speaker 5 (36:36):
Afford to have a night where a yard fifteen h
doesn't show up or Luca doesn't give you a thirty ball.
Where's the other scoring coming from if you're the Lakers.
So this is what had the problem when they get
this to the playoffs. For seven games this is where
is the score coming from under condition, this is what
this is what has happened, and this is what is
(36:58):
going on in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
As we start to realize when the playoffs start, these
referees let you foul a little more. They let you
be a little more aggressive. I think last year really
caught people by surprise that, Wow, they're letting defenses play
a little more aggressive. I don't know if that element
of surprise would be there this year. Should they start
(37:20):
that now in the last seven, eight nine games of
the season letting them play aggressive?
Speaker 4 (37:26):
So now you kind of get ready for the playoffs
because I know.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
Last year I have they was filing dudes and it
was not a foul and it wasn't. So why I
did what you're implying, So you didn't watch the playoffs
last year?
Speaker 4 (37:38):
I did watch the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (37:39):
But why are we talking about the refs and physical
basketball playing.
Speaker 4 (37:43):
We're talking about the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
So while you wait, what what I'm saying, I'm not
just talking Lakers. I'm talking we didn't see how many
one hundred and forty point games that we see in
the playoffs last year. Believe in that, and it was
because they were letting defenses play so much more restive.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
Let me say this about that. I was gonna say,
so what you're saying is correct, because if we get
a chance to see the Spurs and the Thunder, the
winner of that series will be the team that the
ref let play. Like if the ref call every little tic,
tach file and SG get into the line like he does.
I think that we're gonna get Okac and six seven.
(38:23):
But if they let those boys play, the Spurs can
beat them because they actually are more physical and physicals.
You see what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
So that.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
Somebody asked me to say, Yo, couch, you think the
Spurs can win it this year? I'm like, if the
ref let them play, if they let the Puncastle guard SGA,
he'll be He's gonna get his points, but he's gonna
have to work for him. But last thing on the
Laker situation with Lebron and Aar and Lucas with my intel,
I just want to tell y'all that Lebron James this playoffs,
(38:55):
he's being coasted. He's actually been coasting. He want these
young boys, he want Ar, these boys to carry. Lebron
James gonna lace them up in the playoffs, We're gonna
get some Virtue Roso performances. Even if they don't make
it past the first round, Bron is going to empty
the tank in the playoffs. You heard it here.
Speaker 4 (39:13):
I believe it. I believe I believe when I see it.
Now you're gonna wrap it up.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
So and could that be? Could that be a problem.
You're gonna wrap it up in the playoffs. So now
we're going to the playoffs thinking, is Luca Aar Lebron
in that order? And now it's gonna be Luca Lebron
are in that order? Would that be some confusion or
will Austin wives take a back seat and see what
it is?
Speaker 2 (39:37):
But you know, like I know the way that series go,
specially seven gamers. Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah, game the game.
That means like that first game, Bron might come out
not as be you know, let those guys do their thing.
You might see him get twenty one to twenty two
game one, and then he realized Aar ain't got it
Game one, Aar, and he gave us sixteen. Guess what
Lebron doing in game two? You're getting thirty and twelve eight.
(40:00):
So that's what I'm saying from game to game, that's
when Braun's leadership gonna show up in this first round.
I feel like, because if they play the Rockets, I
think the Lakers can beat the Rockets if it if
it come down to a first round matchup right, I.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
Think that's all those guys defensively, that that athleticism that you.
Speaker 4 (40:20):
I don't know about. I don't know about beating the
Houston Rockets and Asia.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
It's gonna be. I think it's gonna be games a game,
Like I was saying to fensh it up. I think
it's gonna be game to game with the Lakers, and
Bron's gonna see as the leader because he's been in
the deep waters often. Reeves only has a few playoff series. Man,
he's not He's not this guy who's been deep, really deep.
I mean, he did go to the Congresce finals, but
he has a different role now. So Bron wants to
see if AAR can be that that Kyrie because you're
(40:46):
a shooting guard like d Wade. Now, like you want
to get paid thirty million a year, you gotta show
the fan base aar like this playoffs. We don't need anything,
I'm saying we as supporting the team. You can't score
under twenty twenty five a game in each way. If
you often read if you do, if you do, Welcome
to Milwaukee. That's what I said.
Speaker 4 (41:07):
Yeah, it's gonna be it's gonna be interesting. Man.
Speaker 3 (41:09):
It's crazy how this hour with Cuffs goes by so fast.
Speaker 2 (41:14):
We didn't even get the coups basketball man, we got great.
Speaker 3 (41:17):
Man, we didn't get to We're gonna get to it
next week. It's Fox Sports Radio up on game. That's
Cuffs a Legend. That's Plasico Barros.
Speaker 4 (41:24):
Our tej Man. See y'all next week. Y'all stay locked
in
