Speaker 2 (00:59):
I'm a boy Harrington.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
We got a lot to get to, not a whole
lot of time. We got a whole lot of basketball
to talk about. But well before we get to basketball
and well the inside stuff we'll call it from our guy.
We're gonna talk to some logan Paul and what he
had to say. But when you hear this, you know
that this guy is going to be coming up next
(01:23):
and he's gonna help contribute to the conversation.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Now it's time to check in with Cuffs, the legend
from some Dude Show podcast on up on Game Presents,
Cuffs is giving you a spicy takes. What's going down?
Speaker 5 (01:39):
The heat like.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Lebron and now here's Cuffs, the legend. It's cold time.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Legend.
Speaker 5 (01:50):
All right, as I mentioned, you know what you're gonna
hear as soon as you hear that intro.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
How you doing? Mass?
Speaker 5 (01:57):
Cuffs the legend from some Dude show here after a
great omelet session that he had this morning.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
How you feeling, bro?
Speaker 3 (02:06):
You know you know they called me the OMELETI God
on Instagram, right, so just follow me on on Instagram
at couch the Legend. Some Dude Show is gonna reload
and relaunch very soon. You know, I got some spicy
stuff I'm doing. But man, it's eighty five degree is today, bro,
North Carolina. It's the greatest robbery in sports. Bro. We
got the college basketball Duke versus Carolina to night. Your
(02:30):
boy is gonna be.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
There, be there tonight.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Yes, I mean you're hearing my voice. I'm excited because
you know media roll cuffs is going to be in
the building and camera, indoor stadium, bro and growing up
as a kid like I got tears in my eyes.
I got goosebumps right now, like as a kid growing
up in North Carolina watching like Rashid Wallace and and
Kota and you know, going back to Christian Latner, Danny Ferry,
(02:56):
you know the list goes on. Like I grew up
in Tobacco road man, So be on the fan side.
It's a little boy, I'm talking Michael Jordan was at UNC.
I vaguely remember that at two years old. That's how
good my memory is.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
So now I'm like I got the memory of an
elephant man when I was there.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
I was there. I was there in those Duke versus
UNC trenches. So now to be able to be blessed
enough thank the spot, sports radio and all my other platforms,
like to be on the media side to watch Cameron Boozer,
you know, tonight that Duke team, who I feel like
they can win it all this year. I know I've
really been watching college basketball, but Cameron Boozer is really
(03:40):
the best player.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Is he the best player in college basketball.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
I would say he is the best college basketball player. Yes,
he might not end up being the best pro out
of this group. You know, Darren Peterson, AJ Debond stuff.
We seen this talent, Darius a Cub who I love,
I absolutely love, shout out the A Cup. But boozer man.
And the only thing I hate about this game tonight
that Cayler Wilson is not playing the star for und No. Man, Yeah,
(04:06):
he's projected top five. He heard his finger in practice
yesterday and when I saw the bricking news, I was like,
he would have played last night. Can you imagine an
atmosphere with him in the game, because I think Duke
is like a seventeen point favorite. So you know we're
gonna take them to the woodshed tonight. We're gonna take
the Tar Hill to the woodshed again. But I'm just saying, man,
bliss to be able to cover this game tonight. Guess
(04:29):
as a kid North.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
Carolina, man enjoy enjoy it all right, Like we're going
to get into basketball. I promise we're gonna talk basketball
more basketball. But we got to pay off the teas.
So you talked about memories and then good memories. Well,
Logan Paul has a good memory too. While in the
media he has made it very very clear and a
(04:53):
parent that Floyd Mayweather Junior owes him about one point
five million dollars stemming from a prefi agreement. Now you
would have thought that that's the bigger headline talking about
Logan Paul, But he finds himself in the media talking
hit about being able to whoop any football player. Here's
what he had to say, the sound on what he
(05:19):
had to say.
Speaker 6 (05:21):
What football players would straight up beat his ass? Not
that I would put I would put any amount of
money that you could put. Metcalf not a single football
player gave me in a boxing match, Miles that is
on god, Miles Garrett. I would throttle Miles Garrett.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
Miles Garrett, I will bet you.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Why do we choose him?
Speaker 6 (05:44):
It could be any name, but any football player Miles Garrett.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Like, I don't even I don't even know.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Don't even try calling out Sam Donald.
Speaker 6 (05:54):
Sam Donald, doesn't matter what a million dollars, a million dollars,
you come to the gym, we put on boxing gloves,
we see how it goes.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
I think it's Kat Fellas, I honestly do.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
I think that they do an amazing job of being
able to promote themselves and and and create these these
moments that people like get behind and want to pay
attention to.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
But I mean.
Speaker 5 (06:22):
Boxing boxing is different though now it is a different
way of going about doing things. And if you're not prepared,
and he even said, like he doesn't want to fight
somebody that he would have to prepare extensively for. He
just want to fight somebody and see if he could
knock them out. What what's y'all's take on like y'all's
response or or reaction to Logan Paul saying he could
whoop any foot, like any he didn't like?
Speaker 3 (06:44):
He said, can I take this one?
Speaker 1 (06:46):
This?
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Sure?
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Logan Paul is one of the greatest cloud chasers, slash
marketers the kicking market. He's a YouTuber, right, he can't
from YouTube. He know how, he knows how to rage
bait us into this, right, because we know there's no
way he gonna step in at boxing right with boxing.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Gloves, right boxing gloves.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yeah, he's not gonna step into that ring and beat
LeVar Arrington in the boxing match.
Speaker 5 (07:17):
I don't put me in that. I don't know, don't
put me in that one. Don't put me in that
one real for real street. If we're in the street,
I got his number. If we in the boxing ring,
I don't you know.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
I know, I know your check in your light is
all your kneecaps. If we go yeah, money to.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Hit me them for me to go down.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
You know what, if I chase him long enough, I
might be I might hit that. I might hit the
edge of that that ring and grab that rope and say, hey, man,
like oxygen, they got oxygen in football.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
TJ. I miss you, man, by the way, I miss you.
Brother's being like a couple of shows. I got my
money on DJ TJ's like this guy were like like,
y'all know I've seen I have actually met TJ. By
know his demeanor on the field. I got my money
on TJ War.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Could you get it?
Speaker 4 (08:09):
TJ?
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Could you get it?
Speaker 7 (08:10):
So this is what I said about eight years ago
when I was boxing probably two three times a week. Yeah,
I'm stepping in there now. Man, I might box twice
a month.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Nah, that ain't happening.
Speaker 7 (08:26):
But but but I pointed out somebody that will put
hands on him, is h y'all gonna remember this name
when I say this name, y'all gonna remember him. Toms
the Bakowski, y'all remember him with the notre name. I
played Winning with the Raiders. He a boxer for real, Yeah,
I played Winning Wiz with the Ravens. He he like
(08:48):
won golden gloves. I think he had like nine professional fights.
He was like nine no no dropping dudes like he
a for real boxer. It's dude Le'Veon Bella boxing. It's
dudes that's out there boxing that's close in age to him.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
He called him out. He said that Le'Veon was was
he was clout chasing.
Speaker 8 (09:07):
And Brandon Jacobs called him out to bj called him
out as well.
Speaker 7 (09:10):
Brandy Jacobs he boxed, Yes, yeah, yeah, just a.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
Big old boy.
Speaker 7 (09:15):
He don't want no pro like he gonna name Tom
Brady and Pookah.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
And Sam Donald said, Sam Donald.
Speaker 8 (09:24):
I know I got one guy that I think that
I know for a fact if Logan I want to
go in the ring for this million, I got one
guy that I know that's gonna lay hands on him.
Who that you know? James Harrison.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
I threw up there and get put boxing.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
Put James Harrison. Put James Harrison.
Speaker 8 (09:50):
In the ring with this guy right here, and I'm
telling him James Harrison gonna put him down.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
You know, you know Debo right, I have never met
him yet. I just want to ask you, like I
see him on Instagram duty workouts, and if you ever
hear this, I just want to ask you why, man?
Like what you retired? You know what I'm saying, Like, Yo,
you want a super Bowl? You want't done everything? Man
in life? Like why are you? Why are you lifting
as much weight still? Man?
Speaker 4 (10:19):
Like, I'll tell you, man, I ain't never seen nothing
like it.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Man.
Speaker 8 (10:27):
And uh hey, if you want to try your luck,
go and sign up with James Harrison. See and see
how that go. I don't think it's gonna go well
for him.
Speaker 5 (10:35):
And he's bigger than James. He's taller, but James Harrison
is heavier at you for it.
Speaker 8 (10:41):
I can't imagine Debo hitting this man with a body
shot and him standing up.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
I just I just can't see it. You think he
could get him?
Speaker 5 (10:47):
And because now if it was and I said this,
if it was Octagon Action, I'm taking ninety percent of
the league man, like any any any non quarterback punter.
I might even have some punters and kickers on that
list that could get him if if they go into
if it's wrestling and fighting, you know that way, but
(11:08):
if it's boxing.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
These Paul brothers they ain't no suckers, man.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
Like.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
We could get caught up in the fact that we
call them influencers and oh they be clout chasing, but
the dudes is really tough, man.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
They really dudes man.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
Like that that this isn't like like a game where
like these dudes can't go up in there and hold
their own like they they got some they got some
umph with them.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
But I.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Just think that boxing is different.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
Like we could talk like and you throw James Harrison
out there and TJ you might go with me on
this one.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
I throw Sean Merryman out there.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
I said, you want to fight, somebody fight Sean Merryman.
I want to see y'all want to set up that fight.
I'll pay to go. I'll go, I'll go attend that fight.
I'll go see that.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
I'll be there to see that one.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
Cause Sean he he throws his hands literally every single day.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
That's not for fake. He promotes he's got lights out fighting.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
Uh, that's his life, like he lives in that. So
if you really are serious about it, Like I like
the Le'Veon Bell deal. But if you really you know
that some people brought up Frank gore is as well.
We brought Brian Brandon Jacobs up.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
But I met man.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Fight fight, Uh fight, Sean Merriman like, take, don't put.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
Johnny Morton in there. Don't put Johnny Morton in there.
Speaker 5 (12:36):
We're gonna let Johnny. We're gonna let Johnny live. Man,
he's still living there.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Gonna go he put that man to sleep.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
All right.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
Speaking of sleep, we're gonna put this segment to sleep
on the other side of it, as promised. And you
heard like Tobacco road like Cups came in swinging with
the basketball. Now we had to throw the logan Paul
in there, but it's basketball the rest of the way.

Thank you, mabar.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
What's this about? What's this about?
Speaker 10 (14:38):
This guy calling himself the Omelet God?
Speaker 5 (14:40):
By the ways he had it on social too, I
love liking.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
I ain't gonna lie.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
It did look good, but I didn't see no cheese.
I was looking for trated cheese. I ain't see no cheese.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
Hited.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
He closed it up with no cheese. I don't know
how that works exactly.
Speaker 10 (14:54):
I am the Omelet God. You might be the Omelet Jesus,
but I am with the Omli God.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Dang, you got any thoughts on that?
Speaker 10 (15:01):
Or you're just gonna sit there?
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Hey listen, man, For one, I did have sharp cheddar
on there. I had bacon, bitch, sharp cheddar and randoms.
I really am the ombie guy. But actor, my grandfather
man rest and tie. He taught me to steal work
when I was like eleven years old. I low and
my wife. My wife act for my omelet every day
for twenty five years.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
That she does.
Speaker 10 (15:21):
Hey, cuffs, what are you guys laughing about? Get your
minds out of a gutter. Got Lee having a culinary
discussion with this gentleman, and you guys are so Cuffs
regarding your Russell Westbrook post is the proper pronunciation media
herbs as in eleven herbs and spices, or media herbs
(15:45):
as in one time Indiana Pacers forward Herb Williams.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Oh, Herb Williams exactly is like a herb, like a
like a fight, like Barsley, like herbs. So media herb
is basically a guy who never had a box in
one plate on him at any level of basketball, never
had any buckets, never scored any buggets. But he talked
through the players crazy. But that's pretty much what a
media heard.
Speaker 10 (16:07):
Is got doctor Webb Brook gotcha. Thank you for the clarification.
See I always learned something when I talk to cuffs
the legend. Let's learn something about what happened today in
the National Football League, fellows. The Dallas Cowboys today placed
a five point seven million dollars second round tender on
Pro Bowl placekicker Brandon Aubrey. If Aubrey signs an offer
(16:28):
sheet with another team, the Cowboys will have the right
to match it. If the Cowboys don't match it, they'll
receive a compensatory second round draft pick. For Houston Texans
today restructure the contracts of defensive backs Derek Stingley Junior
and Jalen Peatrie, creating twenty two million dollars worth of
cap space. Los Angeles Rams cornerback Darius Williams announced his
retirement today at the NBA Boston Celtics Center. Nikola Vucevich
(16:50):
will be out at least three to four weeks after
having surgery today to repair a broken right ring finger. Finally,
the NBA today fine Dallas Mavericks forward Chris Middleton and
twenty five thousand dollars for throwing his mouthpiece in the
direction of the stands in Thursday's loss at Orlando. Okay, guys,
back to.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
You, appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (17:09):
I low and you guys mentioned media herbs, Herbie Hancocks.
Where you want to start cuffs? Do we want to
start with Russell Westbrook? Do we want to go to
Jason Tatum?
Speaker 8 (17:22):
And we got we gotta start with JT Man gotta start.
Speaker 5 (17:27):
I mean yeah, I think, I think, I mean he's bawling.
Where we want to start with this?
Speaker 3 (17:32):
I think the name of this segment should be some
dude mortgage board, because I got so much on this mortgage.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Board right now, all right, let's smorgag like.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Plau said, like Black said, I want to talk about
Jason Tatum, my duke brother, my duke brother in Christ
fifteen twelve and seven last night, in only twenty seven minutes,
and there were so many questions, in doubts. Even he
said at postgame he cried so many nights he doubted
himself because I've never dealt with any time an injury
(18:00):
like that. God bless you any type of and you
guys play sports. You had different injuries, but that achilles.
As a basketball player, it's a confidence thing. Like we
look back at some of the guys that came back,
like way back in the day, Dominique Wilkins. He I
remembered being a kid when Dominique Wilkins first tore his
achilles like that, and we thought his career was over.
We were sad, Like man the human highlight Real. He's
(18:23):
washed now. And y'all remember when he came back to
the Celtics. He was washed when he went to the confarre,
when he went to the Clippers first, he was never
really the same. Nick, And I feel like Tatum as
a player, you had those doubts. So last night to
see him go out there and pretty much look like
the same Jason Tatum. Of course he's going to get
his rhythm back. But I mean, he almost had a
(18:44):
triple double last night and it was legendary and I
just took my hat to him because I know it
had to take a lot of perseverance to push through man,
and a lot of people were saying it was even me.
I feel like I wouldn't advised him that I wouldn't
have it by him to come back this soon. But
we can never question his his heart ever again. Because
you guys, remember before the Celtics won that championship, the
(19:07):
label on the label on Tatum was just like dirt
Lewinsky before he won his hip, that he was soft.
He wasn't mentally tough. He was a soft, light skinned
cab but pretty hair, you know, all the no. So
for him to come back in this fashion, it makes
the Celtics the favorites in the East.
Speaker 8 (19:25):
I feel like, man, they're already in second place right now.
So I mean, listen, I've never had a catastrophic injury,
you know, uh, you know, playing football, you know, blessed,
and I just can't imagine where he was at mentally,
because that's that's the hurdle I mean for him especially,
(19:48):
we didn't we didn't expect to see Jason Tatum back
in the basketball court this year.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
Nobody did.
Speaker 8 (19:53):
And for the fact that that he had enough confidence
and mental stability man to be able to go out
and to block that out and almost have a triple double.
And look the way that he did. Man, it was
just it was a beautiful thing to watch. And I
can only assume, you know, for him moving forward, man,
(20:15):
that his confidence is only going to continue to grow.
He's going to get stronger as this whole thing, you know,
goes forward. But man, shout out to Jason Tatum. Man,
And just like Cuffs just said, Boston Celtics, I believe
that they are in the driver's seat in the Eastern
Conference to come out of the East. If he continues
to get stronger and healthy and played the way that
(20:36):
he played last night.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
Yeah, that was real risky.
Speaker 7 (20:39):
I was shocked that he came back ten months after
the injury, considering they were playing well.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
And I thought about some.
Speaker 7 (20:50):
Mister cuss the legend I'm calling Custra domis put up
as he felt like, hey man, this is becoming Jennion
Brown's team got to get back so do.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
You how much of that do y'all think played into this.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
None, that's opposite the spectrum.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
I'll say as an athlete.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
None.
Speaker 7 (21:14):
If he wasn't ready, he wouldn't have come back. But man,
is just for him to be young. It's so risky,
and he played twenty seven minutes. I believe I thought
he was going to play.
Speaker 8 (21:22):
Like to make that call like medically, trainers and the
organization to make that call on your franchise player.
Speaker 7 (21:30):
At his age, at least put him at a twenty
minute restriction five minutes each quarter and that's it. But
if Tatum can because I was shocked he played well
last night. Man, he played really well. If you know,
he's only gonna get better if he continues to improve.
We about to be in for a treat these playoffs,
(21:51):
because you got the Boston Celtics, you got the Detroit Pistons,
you got to New York next, and then when you
go to the Western Conference with Oklahoma City, the Spurs,
the Rockets, the Nuggets, Man, it's gonna get real interesting.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
We're going to get.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
Way ahead of schedule. They like a better quicker version.
Speaker 7 (22:16):
When I say quicker, like quicker to get to the
top than Oklahoma City.
Speaker 8 (22:21):
Yeah, physical too, man, a physical brand of basketball. Uh,
they really do.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
Man, cuff tell me why you think it's one hundred
percent Jason Tatum coming back because he's losing. I don't
want to lose and and kind of glaze over that.
What gives you the idea and the impression that he
rushed back based upon potentially losing that that title, that
tag of being the franchise guy.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
To be honest, man, is always the outside noise from
social media and the fan bases. They create that stuff, right,
and the players there's their name on Twitter. They see
everything they like. And Tatum, he's always been the face
of the Celtics since he was pretty much, you know,
the top their first round pick, even though the Lakers
(23:12):
passed on him. We're never gonna let you forget that
you passed on Jason Tatum. But he's the face of
the Celtics. And Jalen Brown has really emerged to the
point where me as a basketball fan, I never viewed
him as like I never viewed it as well as
either or because I'm a coach as well, so my
coach I is like I want both of these killers.
(23:34):
I feel like they can kill you in different ways.
It's different ways. You know, JT is not a vocal
kid man. He's actually shy on camera. If you watch
him last night post game. He don't really like doing
all the extra media stuff, but he has to do
it because he's a Jordan brand athlete. He's a face
of the league. But now what's happening is the fan
base internally, even the Celtics fans is like JBT because
(23:57):
JB a two way player. He got the finals MVP
lass here, I mean the year before. So now it's
like it's a real conversation and those guys are buddies,
but I don't think they're the best of friends, just
like Jordan and Pitten weren't the best of friends off
the court. And speaking of that, y'all used to laugh
at me when I said that when they were the
(24:17):
next Jordan and pitping two point zero. But guess what
happens this year if the Celtics pull it off, that's
you know what.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
I just don't agree.
Speaker 8 (24:29):
I just don't agree that Jason Tatum would put his
career at risk because he feels that Jaylen Brown is
emerging as the franchise player.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
I don't believe he can rush back for that.
Speaker 8 (24:45):
I mean that has to do with the surgery, the timeline,
the rehab, if he was ready to play, which I
didn't know. Nobody thought he would see him on a
basketball court. But I don't think that he came back
to solidify his face as being the franchise player, the
best player on this team, for the for the for
(25:06):
the for the bostonself. It doesn't make sense to me.
I mean, I diet it. I understand that everybody, well,
they're going to compete. They may not be the best
of friends. But I can believe if you ask anybody
who is the who is the franchise player for the
Boston Celtics, even if Jason Tatum is hurt, I guarantee
(25:26):
you that nine out of ten people will say Jason Tatum.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
No, No, he can't.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Prove himself because he has a torn achilles.
Speaker 5 (25:38):
That doesn't That does not take you out of the argument.
Injuries play a part of losing being the most dominant player,
of being a flesh man.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
It does. We know, we know, we know that Jason.
Speaker 8 (25:50):
When Jason Tatum is healthy, he's the best player on
that team, no doubt about it, No if answer, buts
about it.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
But here, here's the here's the piece plaque. Jalen Brown
got that Finals MVP, and the fans are going to
always bring that up, just like Steph Curry didn't have
Finals MVP. The rant got both of them, Dollar got.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
An NBA m v P, the best team playing plus
play on the team.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
What I'm saying is Steph Curry, I know this for
I know this for a fact. Steph Curry is still
salty about not getting one of those finals MVPs that
KD got.
Speaker 4 (26:30):
I know it.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
M matter, it matter real quick, real quick. When Jordan left,
the Bulls gotty. Pippen wanted the cruise to the world
that he can do it without Mike bro It's you,
You're he couldn't.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
They were good, They weren't.
Speaker 8 (26:50):
He couldn't and Jaylen Brown won't would not get that
chance to prove to the world that he can get
it done without Jason tatelm because now we see that
Jason Tatum is back.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
See he doesn't have that to prove it the world.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
This debate makes me feel like you can't sit there
and you can't definitively say that all Jason Jaylen Brown
showed up in the finals and got a Finals MVP.
He was legit all year round and how he played.
I almost feel like you can have an interchangeable conversation
(27:25):
about Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
You will never.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
Find anyone of any real sound mind and body say
that you could have made Jordan and Pippen interchangeable. One
could be considered the franchise while the other could be
considered the robin. In the scenario, that would never be
a conversation that would take place between Jordan and Pippen.
(27:51):
And I think that is a very relevant conversation as
it applies to Tatum and Brown. I mean, that's just
my take on it. I feel like that's not not
a horrible.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Deal on that. But what I will say, and I
dare to ask you guys, and.
Speaker 5 (28:06):
Looking at where we're at right now, and I asked,
does it seem like it's early for the San Antonio Spurs?
Speaker 2 (28:15):
What is making this Spurs team so?
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Like?
Speaker 5 (28:19):
I've watched them play and Wenby is good? Am I am?
Speaker 2 (28:22):
I off on thinking that now I don't know how.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
To be It's d Aaron fox It's d Aaron fox Man.
He's become the Engine, and a lot of people were
questioning that that that play they made because it's like, wow,
you got Stefan Castle, you just got him here, the
rookie of the year. But both of those guys speaking
are interchangeable. Stefaran Castle can play the one and the two.
So depending on the matchups each night, you know, the Spurs,
(28:48):
the Spurs are going out here and they're just reading
the matchups where if you look at the boss score,
some night Castle is triple double mode and then the
next night Fosses like the other night he had like
thirty I think thirty plus. So he's really a spark
and Swiper is one of the fastest quickest guard in
the league. So when you put Swipel Fox out here
with women Yama the pick and roll package, you got
(29:09):
killed in Johnson, you got Cordinett off the bench. From
top to bottom, the Spurs are actually actually have a
better roster their okt from top to bottom. I would
argue that the talent wise, you know, Harrison Barnes, the
Black Falcon from North Carolina, you know from he was
born in Iowa. That's that's our guy. Saut out of HB.
Like the Spurs are deep man Champagnia. He can shoot.
(29:32):
So every night, like you saw last night they played
the La Totenail Clippers, like the Clippers was up by
like twenty something, right like twenty something, you know, while
was doing the thing, and the Spurs just walked them down.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
With that back cuffs walking down.
Speaker 7 (29:47):
The Spurs outscored the last twenty one minutes of the game.
They outscored the Clippers sixty six to thirty seven the
last twenty one minutes of the game.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
I watched them, Bucket, It's just a lot of you
know what.
Speaker 8 (30:02):
It just seemed like to me, man, when I'm watching
the Spurs. Obviously, you know, I had the chance to
go over to the game last week of the Guard. Man,
it just looks like to me defensively that this team
that they have right now, they share the same similarities
defensively from a culture standpoint still when Popovich was there,
(30:24):
it doesn't seem like any drop off defensively. Man, The
things that they are able to do on a defensive
end with Wemby, to have him in the paint, man,
the way that he can close out on defenders, nobody
can get to the lane and you can't shoot the
ball over this guy if you want to shoot, you know,
up the corner three or he's jumping fifteen sixteen feet
(30:45):
in the air grabbing basketballs out of the air.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
It's like, how do you get around that?
Speaker 8 (30:50):
I just think Stefan Kauts can guard anybody for sale,
can guard anybody. You didn't mention my young nephew Dylan Harper.
He's coming off the bench fourteen to fifteen points a game.
So they just have everything from top to bottom. They
can go small that they are the guard heavy and obviously, man,
this this kid man is something that we've never seen before.
(31:15):
And some of the things that he's accomplishing and doing
on a basketball court is just it's mind blowing.
Speaker 4 (31:22):
With him being.
Speaker 8 (31:23):
Able to shoot step back threes at seven four blocking
shots that that know, we we haven't even seen these
these kinds of plays being made. But I'm looking at
San Antonio spurs man coming out of the West because
I justin'em will leave. Even though KC of Denver in
a seven game series, I don't think nobody's going to
beat San Antonio in the seven games.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
Can I take this real quick for the break real quick?
I would be not to mention not to mention our
Charlotte Horns. Bro, My Charlotte Horns right now are looking
like the best story in the league right now. Like
I've never seen a major like a miss season I miss.
He's gonna turn around like this. Like the starting lineup
they're starting five right now with Conker Nipple, Diabat, Miles Bridges,
(32:07):
Brandon Miller LaMelo Balls. Do y'all remember just a couple
of months ago, everybody was like talking crazy about La
melow Ball and yeah, the media was calling them all
kinds of different names through the media. It was all
type of stuff going on. Lamelow Ball is special. They
are twenty and two with that starting five, and I'm
telling you, in the Eastern Conference playoffs about a month
(32:27):
or so from now, even though they lost last night
to the Miami Heat. This Charlotte Hornets team, you don't
want to play them at home because I've been going
to Hornets games my whole life. I've never seen that
type of energy that's in Charlotte right now. Put the Horners.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
All right, Well, I guess.
Speaker 8 (32:50):
I get you know, Listen, I've seen some of the
highlights and and the way that the metal ball has
been playing and obviously Miles Bridges. But when we talking
about the he's the conference. When we start talking about
the Charlotte Hornet, I get it, there's a buzz around
the city and and and and en they're playing well,
But come on, man, we're still talking about the Charlotte
(33:11):
Horneers at the end of the.
Speaker 3 (33:12):
Day in Boston the other night, are you.
Speaker 4 (33:18):
Watching Come on man, Jason Tatum.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Back watching the game?
Speaker 4 (33:25):
Man Detroit.
Speaker 8 (33:26):
The Detroit Pistons are the best story in basketball.
Speaker 4 (33:29):
They don't really, no doubt, really good, no doubt about it.
Speaker 5 (33:34):
It's a Detroit guy. He's a Detroit guy. What what
do you big? How do you feel about the Detroit Pits.
They are a good story right now.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
They're a good story.
Speaker 11 (33:44):
I think they can go further in the East than
I think people think at this point. Just on the
tenasty and just how good Cunningham is playing right now
during sizeable number two. Maybe not great. But I also
I don't think in this age of the team building,
nobody can get that the two that they're even asking for.
But I think they're gonna have some real if they
pull someone like san Antonio. I think the san Antonio
(34:07):
games they've played, They've played San Antonio a lot this year.
It seems like that's the matchup that I think you
just you dread, you dread just for that and just
history of that series and everything. But I I don't
know unless I I think their biggest obstacle is if
Tatum comes back and is at full power and then
some for the for the Celtics. But like, I don't
(34:28):
they swept the Nicks this year. I don't really fear
New York at all, don't feel but no, no, no, no, no, no, listen, listen,
I'm not gonna do this thing with New York where like, yeah, again,
eighty percent of the media grew up as New York
Knicks fans, Like I'm sorry, you're you're you're tainting everything
with your fandom.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Get get out here. Oh.
Speaker 5 (34:46):
I agree that hard and has been a difference maker
and that they seem to be trending up right now.
If they can maintain that trajectory, Cleveland could be a
dark horse in the AH Conference. They really my estimation. Anyway,
let's take a quick break. We're gonna come back on
the other side of his break. We're gonna wrap this
thing up. Put a bow on it and send you
on your way. We're going to continue the conversation around
(35:09):
the league as we come back and finish it up
and wrap it up. This is up on game. It's
Fox Sports Radio. You got Cuffs, the legend, you got TJ. Hitchmanzada,
you got Plexicoke Burrs, and you got myself, LaVar Arrington
will be right back. All right, welcome back into the
show as we head to the finish line of this
(35:35):
fair show. Hope everybody enjoyed it. Uh, Cuffs, we got
literally five minutes.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
What you got? Bring us over.
Speaker 7 (35:48):
Let me ask let me ask Cuff something real quick.
Let me ask you some you got it? I know
y'all probably have discussed this, Cuffs. How does Steve kurt
look that kamingas balling? Small sample size, but how does
make him look as a coach?
Speaker 12 (35:59):
Bro Steve Kerr is one of their biggest frauds. I
feel like as far as coach, like he has the
four championship rings, but we all know those those teams
were stacked. It was a stack deck, especially when KD
came into the fold right looking at Kamina on Atlanta,
Hawks just flat out run the floor and not even
(36:22):
just the athleticism in the open court, but Quinn Snyder
is pretty.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Much letting him get his io get into his iso
back you see in the mid range pull up, the
fade away. And the more of the story is sometimes
he's coaches, man, They overthink the game at every level
of basketball, and you put handcuffs on players and you
become like so embedded in their head where you take
their confidence. And you saw that in Kamena in Golden
(36:50):
State on the bench and the huddles. That guy, I'm
say that kid because he's still young. He was getting
DMP's on the Warriors team. That's not some young er No.
I could see if they were like the old Wards
with Kadi stealth and being a load of you know,
from prop to bottom. It's Warrior team stinks man to
the young players, but they're not. They don't scare soul.
(37:11):
So you're telling me, you bus in Kamena on this
type of roster. It tells me that sometimes these coaches
have agenda sometimes and you never know what it is.
But TJ, I understand why m J Snuff, Steve Kerr,
I think I do it. The same guy that be
Jason Tatum in the Olympics, hat them and get no
burning the Olympics.
Speaker 8 (37:30):
So you.
Speaker 13 (37:32):
Crazy pinched Tatum and Haller Burton sat on the bench
boy the whole time.
Speaker 3 (37:45):
I got one p plaque before we go. You know,
if we saw the other night man, Lebron became the
all time leader in field goals made, so that means
he has more buckets than anybody, like think about think
about it one time where they were saying Lebron didn't
have no bag, TJ remember those days where that he
didn't have no bag. Yeah, and he's passed Kareem abdu Jabar.
(38:11):
Shout out to the Kareem who had what we consider
the most unstoppable move, the skyhook. So that tells you
Lebron James is more than just a dunker, right, He's
more than just that buttatism Hm.
Speaker 8 (38:24):
Of course, man, nobody's I don't think i've ever you know,
said that Lebron was just a dunker.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
And you know he's, man, see.
Speaker 8 (38:33):
Simply one of the best basketball players that we've ever seen. Uh,
there's no denying that. The longevity man, the way that
this man has went about his business, and he's an
all around basketball player. Nobody, I don't believe anybody just
said he that he was a dunker, you know, he
(38:54):
he he always wants to make the right basketball play, man.
And I said, and I think that's one of the
one of the best, you know, characteristics to have as
a player, because even though you all Lebron James and
some of those shots that he could have taken that
he didn't, he made the correct basketball play and sometimes
(39:16):
it hurt him, and and some and some and sometimes
they won. But man, hey, kudos to him, man All
Time League and scoring a few goals. Just like we know,
we had this conversation of a few weeks ago man
with Lebron James is no longer playing in the NBA.
Speaker 4 (39:31):
We always wanted to listen to. There's no doubt about it.
Speaker 5 (39:34):
Yeah, And I'm surprised y'all didn't bring up the speaking
of respect and miss uh. I'm surprised we didn't talk
about SGA's coat and press conference and then the game. Well,
you know they said, when you get too loud, man,
that's when you you on the radar and they come
get you. Man, did he put himself on the radar
(39:54):
with with the big with the big fur coat and
the big fur face cover coat.
Speaker 3 (39:59):
I mean New York City. You know what I'm saying,
New York City. You can't, you can't.
Speaker 2 (40:04):
Way, you gotta come with it.
Speaker 8 (40:06):
It's New New York City, baby, if you're gonna step
out there, step out there on this stage.
Speaker 9 (40:11):
Man.
Speaker 8 (40:13):
I saw the code and I was like, when the
hell did you get that from? I've never seen one before.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
But what animal? What animal was that? What animal?
Speaker 4 (40:23):
It looks like.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
It looked like a rabbit, but I guess that's a
whole lot of rabbits.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
Then it was it.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
Was that was our pack. I've heard that.
Speaker 9 (40:37):
It was.
Speaker 5 (40:40):
All right, man, listen, we're gonna wrap this thing up
and turn it over to Jonas Knox for for the
next show. Make sure you stay locked in and down in.
Uh get out of the show today. So it's bridge
nicky k. Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
All right.
Speaker 5 (40:54):
Shout out to them, Yeah you're right. Uh, shout out
to Lou Holtz man before we get up out of here.
Back to one of the legends, man, rest easy, coach.
All right, this is up on game for us here.
Hey have a good one. Fox Sports Radio
