great great personalities. You really enjoy that as well. So
shots out to them and shots out to all of
you guys who have supported us. Alright, our two as
we mentioned, well, you know the Pact twelve, they've they've
been taking it on the twin uh on the chin
and not the twin on the chin. Uh. George Kallabakoff.
(01:52):
I think I got it right or click clio say
it right, listener. Commissioner, the Commissioner clear Off Coff, the
commission cleof cough. All right, so he's been under fire
course because you know you just liege USC and U
c l A to the Big ten. But now it
seems as though the Big twelve is trying to come
(02:14):
um finish them off. And then I guess in a
about a Mortal Kombat. Here's what the Commissioner had to
say about the Back twelve. What gives you confidence that
the ten remaining schools are going to stay in this conference.
We've had two board meetings a week for the last
four weeks, and looking my colleagues in the eye and
understanding their commitment and that their first priority is making
(02:36):
sure that the Pack twelve survives and thrives and grows
and is successful. They're committed to the conference, and I
think the best thing to do is to ask them
about it. I've been spending four weeks trying to defend
against grenades that have been lobbed in from every corner
of the Big Twelve, trying to destabilize our remaining conference.
When you look at the relative media value between the
two conferences, I get it. I get why they're scared.
(02:58):
I get why they're trying to do stabilize us. But
I was just tired of that. That's probably not the
most collegial thing I've ever said. I'm not going to
talk about who we've talked to. That's not the best
thing you've ever said, either, because you've already been destabilized.
So I don't understand what you mean further further destabilized,
because when you lost USC, you were destabilized. I mean,
(03:21):
when you're talking about basketball and you lose U C,
l A and U U s C. You are destabilized.
So with the remaining teams that are there, you're going
to have to fight your ass off to be able
to to keep the pack, the Pack from dying. Now
it's not the Pack twelve anymore. It'll be the PAC
(03:41):
ten pretty soon. And by what what's what your guys
take on is? And then this is this is the
conference you played in? Uh t J Like how is this?
How is this? How are you looking at it? And
then I'm interested to hear what you gotta say as well. Plex.
It's a tough situation for everybody in the Pack ten
and it was the accent when I played in it,
and so that's what it looks like it will be
(04:03):
for the foreseeable future. It's a tough situation because as
we know, and we've been knowing this and it's now
just coming to the forefront, it's a business always will be.
Um the pacton, they're gonna have to go get franchise
type schools and institutions that come to the PAC ten
(04:24):
or that they got to go to the SEC, I
mean the a c C, not the SEC, the a
c C and see if they can convince one of
those top teams to leave. And to me, the biggest
thing with what the pact tent is is you can't
play your Saturday night games is seven thirty. Like everybody
on the East coast in the Midwest, they sleep. Yeah,
(04:47):
you can't start the game at seven thirty. I mean
that game is in in the ten and U c
l A. Oh, they're gonna be in the Big ten
and so they're gonna play their games early in enough
with which they should be three thirty or five thirty
start time. I can't wait, I can't wait. It's so
(05:08):
it's gonna every game is a big They're gonna play
Michigan State big game, Michigan big game, Penn State big game,
Wisconsin big Every game is a big game. And so
they gotta get institutions that bring some name to the
(05:29):
PAC twelve or the PAC ten or you can't go
get schools from the Mountain West. No disrespect, because what
does that bring to the PAC ten? That doesn't bring
anything to the PAC ten. USC and U c l
A left because of money. And if you don't bring
these power teams and power schools to the conference, you're
(05:51):
not getting the money that forced USC and U C
l A to leave. He's just not gonna happen. Well, well,
first of all, looking at the Pack twelve, I don't
think there aren't really any two other universities that you
can bring to the conference that would supersede US and
U C l A. I mean, that is what the
(06:11):
whole Pack twelve was basically all about those two schools.
So in my estimation, I'm gonna make a bold addiction
and say, listen, and five or ten years, I don't
I don't think the Pac ten or Pack twelve would
exist anymore. It's gonna be might I might agree with
you with that, plex I think I agree. Now you
talk strictly football. Oregan has been the best team in
(06:31):
the Pack twelve for years now. They they've been the
best football team for years, as see is the name.
But they can't mess with Oregon. Oregon has been the
best team. And when Peterson was at you Dub You
Dub was probably the second best team. And so but
you're one correct. I have a feeling that the Pac
(06:53):
ten um, I don't know what it's gonna be called,
but they're not gonna They're not gonna have if they
lose Oregon and they lose Washington. Oh, it's over, It's over.
I don't know Big State have the Oregon State gonna
have to hold was on the State Colorado. I mean
(07:14):
I think it's gonna it's gonna be one big conference.
And what it's gonna be the Pack seventeen. I don't
know what it's gonna be. But I mean, Organ State
is just as good as Penn State is thos. I mean, no,
that's not a good one. That is That's the truth.
That was ya y'all kid, y'all get Christmas. You're talking
(07:37):
about a team State does not move the needle. No school,
and they're not deserving and they're not deserving of being
in the same conversation as a big tenning tens school
other than like maybe Indiana or Rutgers that you could compare.
Just beat you all a couple of years ago. Yeah,
(07:58):
the COVID year, which means that they're they're actually moving,
which means they're actually moving closer to being out of
the conversation with a pack school than they are. This
is this is all I'll say. When when Penn State
gets the type of recruise they get and they have
the type of record their day under the chief. I mean,
(08:18):
look at who we lose to. Outside of that, we
got who we lose to. Excuses on how many schools,
how many schools in the pact, how many Pack twelve
schools are going to beat a Michigan an Ohio State,
a Michigan State. Hold up the same year? Hold up?
(08:40):
Hold up the last time I checked when the Pack
twelve played the Big ten in the Pac twelve played
the best school in the Big oh the Pack twelve
and Oregon Beetle House. Okay, yeah, yeah, I knew I
wasn't tripping. Yeah yeah, Oregon beat Ohio State. What's your
excuse now, and they're the best team in the Big Ten.
You're talking about bowl game, regular season, another excuse? Both
(09:06):
teams played earlier. That was a good win. That was
a good win for the Pack. I'm not gonna I'm
not going to argue that. But if we're trying to
have a conversation here about debate about what the Pack was,
they know that that's a blind man can sit there
and say that Oregon State is just as good as
Penn State. They are there, they are, they are, it's
(09:28):
not even they are, It's not stod Penn State has
history that nowhere near Organ State. That what I'm saying.
What I'm saying is Penn State gets much better recruits
in Organ State. It's not even a comparison. I just
had a kid State for his state. I don't even
want to talk bad about history State. But don't trying
to force me. I ain't the killer, but don't push me.
You know what I mean. Come on now, you don't
(09:49):
want But when they say they want a problem, you say,
no problems, no problem, no problem. And I appreciate you
defending your school, and and and and with that being said,
all I'll say is is that you know, the Pats
in trouble. In order for them to exist in the
next ten years, I think they're gonna have to join
(10:11):
the conference or join the Big twelve. It probably won't
be enough, but you know, but they in order for
them to be a comfort, they're gonna have to join
somebody else. Let me let me throw this one. I mean,
we're up against the break, but let me put this
one in front of y'all. Do you think that this
is a scenario where you know there's going to be
a runaway with with SEC and and Big ten like
(10:33):
they're going to run away from it or with it
in terms of in terms of dominance for the college
football playoff, in the in the college landscape. But there
are a ton as as you just mentioned in terms
of with Oregon State and where I won't just agree
or dispute, there are a ton of quality football teams
that are still left out there. So do you do
(10:54):
you make it a point to create an entirely different
level of football and be like, you know what, SEC,
Big Ten, y'all, go ahead, y'all, go play in your sandbox.
F y'all, We're gonna create our own deal. And then
you start having these conversations with you know, maybe maybe
you go after teams like you know, the Mid Americans
or or something like that, you know what I mean,
(11:15):
Like you go after the you know, the Cincinnatis or
the Marshals or that doesn't move the needle. It can't.
It could if you think about it, it could move
the needles if you stop trying to compete with the
SEC and the Big ten. Let them go. The problem
is with that, it's like how many teams are you
gonna put in the conference? I mean, you you're gonna
(11:36):
have to create so they can play everybody. I understand
it's going to be an East and West the division
in the SEC and the Big ten in the in
the in the PAC ten, PAC twelve, But you can
only put twelve teams in the COMFORT. So I don't know, man,
I don't. I don't. I think you're right that they
(11:57):
will keep the numbers down. They have to. They're but there.
But but there might be able to play each other.
But there might be a point in time where you
can't and you have to go to like twenty teams.
It's a possibility. I don't know, but it could be
a possible. I don't think that. I don't think. I
don't think the Big ten or the SEC does it.
But I think that it's a possibility that that could
(12:17):
exist for other conferences. And if they want to survive,
they're gonna split up in two divisions like the SEC,
and it doesn't matter. It would be like a rolland
will play each other every other years or however they
do it. But that's that's gonna They're going way past
twelve teams, guys. It's inevitable. It's gonna be two super
(12:38):
conferences and it's gonna be everybody else all right, dk
metcalf he gets his huge extension with the Seahawks. Uh Man,
sounds like we've got some injuries taking place in in
uh In in San Francisco. Jesus, this is that that
NFC West you know, never gets dug. We're gonna talk
about that on the other side of this. All right,
(13:00):
welcome back into the show. You and I know that
this is one of those big conversations because it's well
been big contracts coming left and right. DK metcalf is
is one of the the more recent, most recent recipients
of of cashing in. Ryan, give us the details on
(13:23):
the contract, please, yes, LaVar. Dk metcalf getting got a
three year, seventy two million dollar extension with the Seahawks,
including a thirty million dollars signing bonus, which is the
highest ever for a wide receiver. So Tarik Hill and
Davante Adams, you know, they seemingly set a market um
(13:44):
for receivers to be looked at differently financially. DK metcalf
seemingly has cashed in. Obviously. You love it for the player,
You love it for the future of of of players.
Um that are going to come up up? What's your
what's your opinions, guys, what's your takeaway on a receiver
getting this type of a contract and did it make
(14:06):
you look in the mirror at one point in time
and say, man, people used to say this about us
when we got our contracts, Like if I could have
been playing at this point in time. What what's your
guys takeaway on this girl? Abad plex for got it?
I mean basically, DK Metcalf basically made more money in
the sun and bonus that I made in five years
(14:28):
of playing in Pittsburgh. So that lets you know where
the contracts are at right now as far as the
modern day the players, while I receivers quarterbacks, it's hard
to fathom. You know, I come to New York, you
signed with a five year, thirty five million ollar deal.
(14:49):
I'm making roughly seven billions a year now. They now
they're getting in basically with the stroke of for pen uh.
I think I think it's good. It's reading for the
sport um. It is good for those who go out
and play hard and earn it. And I'm a DK
I'm a DK Metcalf fan because the big receiver, the
(15:10):
big receiver is becoming extinct in the NFL. Is like
he's the last of the Mohicans, so he's out. They're
carrying the torch for the receivers that are six four
and better. And uh, one thing I like about this
deal is that it's only three years. He has the
option to where he will still be in his prime
(15:30):
if he goes out and and and and does what
he has been doing over the past three or four years,
which you know, he's a you know, a a an
elite receiver, that he will be able to take his
talents elsewhere, depending on where that may be when if
he if he makes a decision or the if the
Seattle Seahawks decided to move on from him, because a
(15:52):
lot of these deals that these guys are signing a six, seven,
eight years and that they kind of locked in. Um.
I like this deal for him because it gives them
options and three years if he wants to go somewhere else.
I mean, it's it's well deserved, He's earned it. And
so that that's the nature of the NFL. Now. Man,
(16:12):
When number one, he's young, twenty four years old. Contractors
up and and it was almost as if Seattle you
really didn't have a choice. When when you lose Russell Wilson.
When you think the Seattle Seahawks last year, you think
Russell Wilson, Bobby Wagner. You lose both of those guys.
(16:33):
So now when you think the Seattle Seahawks, you think
DK Metcalf. You don't think anybody else. You think DK
Metcalf first. And so they couldn't afford not to pay
him the amount of money that they paid him. And
that's what Plexico said. The great and I'm talking great
all caps for d K. It's a three year deal.
(16:53):
He'll be twenty seven when what is next deal? And
so this is the perfect deal for the player. And
I don't know if they're trying to make the big
receiverick sneak when you I would say the oversized receiver
like Plaux and DC and those guys Mike Evans. But
it's uh, it's down listen. We got all these little
(17:15):
jitter bugs running around here. Man five eight, five nine,
five tenners. They can't get it. Always say that Blacks
I was a big receiver. You was oversized. That might
be true. You were oversized, might be It might be true,
might be. So it ain't too many guys walking around
that can move with your size. It's just it's just
(17:36):
not I mean, in DK is a big dude, but
he not as big as you are, Like he's not
as tall, he's big. Waitwise, just like we get back
the same man. He's still gonna he's gonna be in
a problem with his dealers up Prime. That's the best
part about it. The players coming after him. And if
(17:56):
you're going into a contract situation and you're kind of
unsure to where you know, if you want to be
there not, you know, don't lock yourself into these seven
eight years deals because it gives you no, no wiggle room,
not an option to be able to move on. And um, listen,
(18:18):
it made me see seven years and it may be
a hundred and twenty thirty million or whatever the the
the uh whatever the contract they may say or be,
but for him to get thirty million dollars on a
sign and bonus and he'll be out of there in
three seasons, whether whether they where they choose to keep
him or not. I think it's a great deal man.
Mm hmm. Well, I'll tell you what. Its seemingly comes
(18:40):
out of an interesting time because there are some some
serious injury news that came out of San Francisco. They're
serious injury news that have come out of Tampa Bay.
Let's get an update from Isaac Loewing Crawn and then
we'll talk about these injuries and does it give teams
like Drew Luck or Geno Smith lad Seattle Seahawks team
(19:04):
an opportunity to jump back into well competition? What yeah,
LaVar that rough news out of San Francisco coming earlier
this morning, when forty Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan announced
the defensive tackle Maurice Hearst Junr tore his biceps in
practice yesterday. He is expected to be out for the
season both arms. Oh really, I don't know. It sounded
(19:26):
like you said it plural. No, no, no, that's one.
You freaked me out. So that's something that I've been
annoyed with for years. So it's the biceps. The muscle
is called the biceps, but that's exactly what it implies
that it's plural, so bicep would be an easier description.
(19:46):
But apparently the technical term for the muscle is the
biceps muscle. Okay, yeah, so it was it was it
was only one. Yeah, it's here's the thing, but I
felt the same for years that you have about that,
so that, yeah, the technical terms should be bicep and
not biceps. Maybe I'll just say bicep in the future
(20:09):
and wait for the biceps grammatical security squad to come
come after me. So it's basically like you say dear,
you don't say exactly. Thank you very much. There you go.
That's that's why it makes sense for to just be bicep.
I'm gonna rebel about that. I've been inspired by you guys. Elsewhere,
(20:30):
the Washington Commanders signing veteran offensive tackle Rashad Hill, who
spent the past six seasons with the Vikings and the
Buffalo Bills. Today signed free agent quarterback Jordan Miller to
a one year deally. It spent the past two seasons
with the New Orleans Saints. Say, guys, I don't know
if you've heard about this, but the creators of the
Madden NFL twenty three video game have started a ratings
(20:52):
Adjuster hotline so players and their fans can call this
hotline to campaign for their Madden player ratings to be increased.
So as evidence among those planning to hit up the
hot line, let's hear from Carolina Panthers cornerback J. C.
Horn listened to him here and also listened to his
buddies in the background, rooting him on suggestion J C.
(21:15):
Horne Here, Man, I was checking out my ratings overall.
Not too hot. Man, y'all gotta y'all gotta face some
of the stuff on the ratings. Man got me like
a seventy two. Gotta come up. Gotta come up covers, Man,
coverage too little. I probed myself on man, So you
definitely got to bring that. Yeah. I got to him
(21:36):
a couple of quick baseball notes Friday night to Seattle
Mariners acquired all star right hander Luis Castillo from Cincinnati,
while the New York Post reports that all star right
hander Joe Musgrove close to a five year, one hundred
million dollar deal with the San Diego Padres. Now, I
know that three of you would never call the Madden
Ratings Adjuster hot line about your ratings back to you,
(21:57):
all right. I never cared guy, And I'm gonna get
back to this whole this, uh, the guy that he
tore us by Sep Hurst Jr. And in San Francisco.
You know, you know the thing about training camps and
going into this season, um that that that always will
remain that that guy that was playing behind him, now
(22:21):
he's a starter. Ye, And now you're getting what you
want to be, getting what you asked for. And it
happens just like that in the blink of a lie.
Because you just never know when your time is gonna
come for you to be able to be a start
in this league. And if it comes by injury, you
just have to take advantage of the opportunity. And now
he's looking at in their face and he's saying to himself,
(22:44):
He's like, oh, man, I'm starting now, I chance. That's
how I got my chance. You gotta take advantage of it. Man,
when when you tell us, tell us what happened, you
don't want to see guys go down. So Peter Warrick Cool,
I believe is one of the top two or three
(23:05):
college football players ever. We're playing the Jets. I never
forget it. We're playing the Jets, and uh, he kept
like bro my my legs or my leg hurt. And
he ended up playing like another five or ten plays
after that. You know, you started limping more and more
kind of find out he broke his leg and so
(23:28):
I got an opportunity, and we had just drafted I
don't know if you guys recalled his name, you guys
probably will Kelly Washington from Tennessee The Squirrel, and the
Bengals drafted him because they didn't want me to play.
They wanted Kelly to play in front of me. So
when when Dub got hurt, me and Kelly we rotated series.
(23:49):
So you know, I go a series, he go a series.
I go a series, He go a series, and you'll
be mad when your series of three and out. Then
they're going to eight play drive on his series. And so,
long story short, I end up winning a starting job
and I was a starter pretty much the rest of
my career. And it was because unfortunately Dub broke his
leg and I got my first chance to start. And
(24:11):
you never want to see nothing like that happened to anyone,
But when it does, you gotta be ready to take
that opportunity because you're not gonna get another one. That's
your only chance, that's your only chance. You get one
crack at, and if you don't take advantage of it,
you had to crib. This was this San Francisco team
(24:32):
was a snake bitten team. Last year they had preseason
early early injuries took place in the backfield. Now you've
got injuries that are taking place in Tampa as well.
I mean you lose the starting center. Give us, give
us the details on on the injuries taking place. There's
more than one now, correct. Then they just draft the
(24:53):
c though. Yeah, I don't know. He's one of the
most it's out of new guys. It's it's like he's
the guy. He is that guy. Get give us the
details right before we go forward. Yeah. Unfortunately, Ryan Jensen,
their their Pro Bowl center, went down with the knee
injury yesterday. According to Top Bowls. Uh, he could be
(25:14):
missing a few months. Uh. This this also comes after,
of course, Ali Market, who also was a Pro Bowl
offensive lineman for the Bucks last season, retired in the
off season, and they also traded Alex Coppa to the
Bengals in the off season. You gotta be able to
tech Tom Brady. He ain't got the livest colin. Okay,
now here we go. Does that open up? Does that
(25:35):
open up teams like a a you know, a New
Orleans Saints for business and and the NFC South? Does
that open up the opportunities? Does open up that significant
of a loss for the Tampa baby bucking. This still
not do when the NFC saw the clearly still the
best the best team in that division. But you know,
(25:58):
this is a big loss. I mean, if he's gonna
be out for on No. Four or five months or
whatever the case may be, he's an all pro cent
of and you know he's been with Tembery for six
years now, so I mean he's definitely a key lost
to the offensive lone. You gotta be able to take
break just like I said, because he's far from Lamar
Jackson when he gets out of the pocket. But but
(26:20):
they will still be in contention and I think they
I think they still win the NFC South without him.
What about what about San Francisco losing an interior lineman?
If this continues on, does this turn into uh conversation
of you know we're hearing, we're hearing Geno Smith. What's
(26:40):
the latest with Gino Smith? Ryan, Well, we've got some
audio here with Pete Carroll the other day talking about
the Seahawks quarterback situation. All right, all these guys can
chuck the football, we can use the whole field. We're
gonna vomit and we're gonna do all of those things
we love doing and we'll just see how, you know,
how the competition plays itself out. But that you know
it's gonna Jam's gonna leave right now. I like that, Uh,
(27:05):
quarter A coach that comes out and says that his
quarterback is winning the competition during training camp, that has
to be uplifting A Virginia Smith transparency. Huh right, right, definitely.
So all you got really gotta do is not turn
the ball over and make good decisions and you know,
just be just be consistent. It remained consistent throughout the
(27:27):
rest of the training camp, and it sounds like to
me he's going to get the job. But sad as
it may sound, getting back to these injuries, it happens
every year. You know, a lot of guys go down
and training camp, which is unfortunate that don't get the
chance to, you know, go into the season healthy. And
it's not going to be the last one. You know,
(27:47):
injuries that we see during the preseason. You would like
to see it minimized. But as far as injuries are
just a part of our game and we know that
you know that that NFC West is it's interesting, man
should be a pretty good division. The on the bright
side of when guys do get hurt, if it's early
on at you can try to make some trades. You
(28:10):
can the guys that are stepping in can try to
get comfortable. Specifically, the Niners, they lose their detackle with
a biceps injury. If Javon kin Law can come back healthy, uh,
they'll be okay. Can he can he come back from
his knee injury? The Niners will be okay. The Niners
need to continue to play great defense to take the
(28:32):
pressure off trade lance. But anytime you have injuries this early,
you have a chance to try to get guys in
the fold so they can understand what's needed, what's expected
of them. It's when it starts late and training camp
early in the regular season. The Bucks, it's gonna hurt them,
that's your center. Tom Brady wants to feel comfortable up
(28:54):
the middle. That that's gonna hurt them. But it's early
enough to where they can try to figure something out.
So t J has the Jimmy Garoppolo arrow come to
an end in San Francisco. Oh, it's a rat. It's
a rat. They they have no Jimmy g won't there's
no way. You keep Jimmy G on that roster with
a salary of twenty five million and there you think
(29:17):
they cut him before the season. I'm sure we'll cut
him or trade him. There's no way he's on that
roster week one and they give him twenty five million.
Now I gotta get they gotta get Deebo signed. They
still haven't gotten him signed. You know what's crazy. They
literally could have said, you know what, we're gonna run
it back with Jimmy G. This is last year on
this deal. Trade gonna said another year. It wouldn't have
(29:38):
been the worst thing. Tray lads would have had two years.
But it's everybody wants this instant success and we we
traded up and we gave up all this to get them.
Uh that's what they want to do. They couldn't know
how the shoulders doing. I think the shoulder has a
lot to do with this. They they they he's passed
(30:01):
the physical, so if they release him, they owe him nothing.
And so for them to pass him on a physical,
he must feel okay because he knows what's at steak.
He knows he not he wants to be traded, and
I guarantee they have some type of agreement. If we
can't find a trading partner for you, we're going to
(30:22):
release you. Jimmyj is saying, okay, because if somebody trades
for me, I get this twenty five million. If I
get released, I'm probably making six or seven million. So
he's okay with what's going on because he would prefer
to be traded then be released. His landing spot right now,
if he gets traded a team that would pay that salary,
(30:42):
why I mean does to me? The obvious spot would
be the Dolphins. I would say the Dolphins, but they
seem to be inclined to give to and because of
the offensive coordinator from the Niners last year is not
a head coach of the Miami Dolphins. He would know
that system. It would be seamless transition. I don't believe
(31:03):
that's gonna happen. What I'm saying is that would be
his best chance for success. Washington, I don't like. I mean,
I'm plexico. You noticed when when we talked about this
in the first hour. When you come to and you
get traded to a team that's late in the process,
(31:24):
how smart you are? You gotta learn that system. You
got the development chemistry. It's not easy. That's not easy.
Say what you want about Carson Wentz. You're talking about
the Washington Commanders. Carson Wentz right now would have a
huge advantage over Jimmy G. If he was any anywhere
Jimmy G goes, he's gonna behind the eight ball because
he's so late in the process. It's it's not about Atlanta, Yes,
(31:50):
can he can he give them behind the eight ball?
You're behind the eight ball. Jim can be behind the
eight ball in the learning curve of the offer and
still go out there and be more productive than Marcus Mariota.
I really believe that. I believe that too. I don't
believe that. I know about that. I don't know about that.
(32:10):
I really don't. I mean, I think Falcons Arthur Smith
went out. He seeks Mary on out. So he must
like them from his days in Tennessee. He must like
played in two years. That's your best options. If he's
not a better option than Jimmy Garobi's been in the program,
(32:34):
He's been in the system. Before he comes back from
the beginning of the off season, he knows, he knows
the offense. Jimmy G will get there and the first
game is in about five weeks. Uh. That's not easy, man.
I mean they're gonna stink either way. But I think
Jimmy G gives them about You're we're asking who would
who would get the money, and you think they're gonna say, hey, okay,
(32:59):
we gave Mario to this and then we're gonna turn
around and give Jimmy G twenty five million. Na, Na, boss,
I can't do it. It ain't no as as. I
don't think that they're going to trade. I think Jimmy
G is going to get released because of the question
marks on on his shoulder, on his health. I don't
even know that he passes up different program, right. I
don't even know that he passes a physical right. Okay,
so if he can't pass the physical when he get released,
(33:21):
he oliver no. But but you could at least just
evaluates different. They do that, evaluate different because definitely left
San Diego and he went to the doctor felt them.
That was their way of saying, we don't really believe
(33:42):
he's healthy. Nick Saban wanted him, but they didn't want
to pay him that money. If it was a six
billion Oh Drew brees past physical right didn't go to
New Orlean and to look at that. Look what happened.
All right, let's get to a break. Listen, guys on
the other side of his break. To finish shot the show,
I want to get y'all's opinion on another quarterback situation
(34:06):
in Pittsburgh. It is kind of what I would assume
undefined and coming out of Pittsburgh. We're hearing that Mason
Rudolph from your boy Claypool t J, is that working
in the off season out here. Levard that's why he
was out here grinding baby. Okay, okay, okay, I see
(34:27):
I like to stick together. All right, we're gonna see
what the word is coming out of the starting job
position in Pittsburgh. All right, welcome back into the show.
It's been a good show. If you miss anything, make
sure you go to up on Game the the podcast,
and and if you want to hear extra um and
and great content from different personalities, go to up on
(34:49):
Game Presents as well. Uh fellas. It's it's been interesting,
um watching and talking about all of the quarterbacks in
these situations. Since now there's the conversation, UM that took place.
What what what is it that that uh Mr Claypool
said about Mason Rudolph Ryan and it's pretty cool, pretty
(35:12):
cool that you know a guy would come to your
your your aid or your back in terms of what
you're doing. What what? What did he have to say? Well, Yes,
Earlier in the week, Claypool was praising the accuracy of
Mason Rudolphin, talking about just how much work he's putting in. Also, uh,
just from yesterday, Matt Canada, the offensive coordinator for the
Steelers on the Fans said, quote, Mason's getting the second
(35:34):
reps and the second Yeah, the second reps right now,
almost equal to maybe slightly less than Mitch. He's been
given a very fair shot to this point in camp.
It might have been exactly equal. Mason has made a
lot of plays at times. He's played very well at
times for us. He's got a great shot at that
starting job. Now he's had the starting job and it
didn't look very good. I don't know that their offensive
(35:56):
line is going to be much improved. It's a big
question mark. What you got, stink, How you see this
playing out? Uh, this is how I see it playing out.
If Mason Rudolph and loses this starting job. Uh, he
wouldn't be a starting quarterback nowhere no more. If you
let Mitte Tropiski come in and beat you out at
the starting quarterback for the Pittsburg Stealers, that's not a
(36:18):
good sign. It's really not based off of what what
we have seen and Mason Rudolf over the past few years.
And um, I mean clearly they're not talking about uh,
Mitchell Drobiskie's accuracy because he doesn't have any. So if
he loses this position and this starting job to Mitchell Robinski,
(36:38):
it's really not a good look. Man. I'm just I'm
just being honest, man. Last word, t J. I mean,
Mitchell Trobinski was the top pick. But Mason Rudolph I
saw it first hand. He put in a ton of
work this offseason. He was out here training relentless. Man.
The dude was all day, every day out here working.
So it would not surprise me one bit if he's
(36:59):
a starter. Mm hmm. It'll be interesting to see. Like
I said, I think their offensive line is is not improved,
I'd be I'd be shocked if they If they are,
But if the offensive line does well, whoever it is
is back there, um, they're gonna have their hands full.
Because there's some defense that they play in in the
a f C North. I'm I'm I'm curious. If Mitch
(37:21):
Drobiski doesn't win it, then I don't know how good
this team is going to be, to be honest, because
I don't trust that Mason Rudolph is actually going to
be the guy that's the solution. He's already been there.
He would have been the solution by now if he
was going to be the solution, and he hasn't proven
to be that. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoyed the show. UH,
(37:41):
make sure y'all stay locked in down in plenty of
great programming coming on this weekend you've listened to up
