Speaker 1 (00:00):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu gottson Company
Live weekday said three pm Eastern, twelve pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
We have a lot to get to today. We have
some of the greatest press conference sound in the history
of press conferences. Bellinger is back with the Yankees. It's
a big day for Taylor and Mike y Ye. The
coaching carousel continues to uh move round around Izzy. But

(00:32):
I was actually thinking about this last night because rarely
does a radio show get thrown We haven't said hello
to the audience. They have no idea who we are.
We haven't introduced ourselves, and there has to be so
many people out there that are very confused.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
It's a lot of people just piecing things together. It's like, hey,
I know two or three of those voices.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Yes, But rarely does a radio show get thrown on
the air in over two hundred and twenty market across
the country on the Monday after the divisional round of
the NFL Playoffs, the day of the college football National Championship,
and right in the middle of the craziest coaching carousel

(01:12):
we've ever seen. So I figured today on a Wednesday,
maybe take a break here, take a deep breath. News
that seemed to slow down, and perhaps just introduce ourselves
to the audience to tell them who we are. You
sure we don't have Bear on the line. There's no Bear.
I've cleared all the guests out. I told listen. I
told the Giants general manager Joe Shane not today, what

(01:34):
a great guess they would have been today? And he
said why, And I said, eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. That's why, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
I need to take some phone calls. I need to
get to know my audience. They need to need to
get to know us. That's what I told Joe shape.
So tomorrow for the Giants general manager, I hope hopefully
he doesn't sound nervous. Well, hopefully, I still don't want

(01:55):
to take phone calls. He was very nervous.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
And just to be clear, we're not getting to Cody Bellinger.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
I know.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Oh, oh Jesus you and Bellinger, jeez, save it for
the podcast. Oh my god. So we're a group here.
We're based out of South Florida. We're probably twenty minutes
if you know South Florida at all. We are doing
the show from the iHeart Studios here in Pembroke Pines,
which is about twenty minutes west of Fort Lauderdale, if

(02:20):
we know the area at all. Yes, the best I
could do. We've been doing this show as a podcast
since what has it been, Taylor since June? Basically June first?
All right, since June first. Taylor's keep a track because
he wants to get paid. You know, Mikey is shaking
his head in agreement invoices. We've gotten better at that though. Yeah,

(02:44):
we're baby steps, okay, But Mikey A is someone I've
worked with for a long time. I've known him since
my day's at ESPN. He and I are really good friends,
in large part because we're the same age. But Mikey
A Is is someone and it's hard to explain we're

(03:07):
not the same age, but Mikey A and I are
such great friends that I thought at one point we
were the same age.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
Air terrible, he said it on air. He's about twenty
years older than me.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Yes, yikes, But in this industry it's funny because Mikey
A has become someone that I trust and seeing his
face and knowing his knowledge of radio and how to
do all of this gives me, Uh, it just gives me.
It relaxes me on a daily basis. When I see
mikey I am happy. I am made to be happy.

(03:40):
When I try to go to bed every night, I
think of mikey A as well.

Speaker 6 (03:44):
I am your proverbial gummy.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Yes, we are both Jeff fans, unfortunately, but mikey Aa
is someone who's been doing this for a long time,
who has been with me for a long time, and
who was someone who was very good at his job.
And he makes me happy, and he makes me relaxed,
and he makes me comfortable. Israel is someone that I
have known for quite some time. In fact, I would

(04:07):
say between mikey A Israel and Taylor, Israel is the
person I've known the longest. He is the person I
know the best. And Izzy has recently become a great friend.
We were always friends, but he has become a great friend.
And I will get back to Izzie in just a second.
Taylor is crazy. So Taylor was working with me at

(04:31):
Metal Arc Media the Dane Lebotard Show with Stu Gotz
and Taylor's great Taylor came up to me one day
he said, Hey, let me take something off your plate.
All right, the weekn Observations. At the time, it was
the Weekend Observations. Go ahead, Taylor, He's good.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
That is not how it happened. The slightest. What happened
is I walked by him and said, hey, this would
be a good observation. And then one became three, became seven,
and then he just said, hey, buddy, you want to
just write these.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
That's how I remember it. That's exactly how it went down,
and that I'm thinking about it. Yeah, So Taylor is
he's fantastic. And again, I'll explain this whole story here
as we move on. But then there's me. I've been

(05:23):
doing this for a long time. I created and for
twenty years co hosted one of the most successful radio
shows ever, not sports radio shows, just radio shows because
we didn't talk about sports all that much. As much
as I tried to talk about sports, we just didn't.

(05:43):
It's a show that still has my name on it,
and quite frankly, if I'm being honest, it's a show
that should always have my name on it. And I
started that show with Dan twenty years ago and we
have had great success. Success I never imagined my wildest dream,
because when you get in the radio, you never think, Wow,

(06:05):
I'm gonna make a lot of money. And there are
a few of us who are fortunate enough to create
something that is so special, that means so much to
an audience where not only do you get to do
the thing that you set out to do, the thing
that you love, you also get paid to do it.
And so that's what happened. You had to experience that

(06:28):
like Collin and Dan Patrick before him. But I am
proud of that show, and I know a lot of
people have questions as it relates to that show and
what's going on with me and Dan, And quite frankly,
I am not going to address those right here. I
am not going to do it right now, but I

(06:50):
will tell you, and this is the first time I've
said anything about this subject, and I'm only telling you
to point out just how important these people to me,
and Israel Goody Airs is to me. Whatever went down
with me and Dan was deeply hurtful and took me
to some really strange and dark places and I'm still

(07:12):
trying to claw my way out. And my mom would
tell me, and I said this when we introduced FanDuel
as a sponsor to the podcast. My mom was very
big on whether it's God, whatever you believe in, there
are angels kind of placed in your life to help
guide you along and help pick you up when you're down.

(07:32):
And Taylor has been that angel for me. He really has,
because what I see in Taylor is someone who really
wants this in the worst way, and he really wants
me to be happy, and he cares about me, and
I care about him. And we had discussions. We did
because I was so down on myself. I was thinking

(07:55):
about getting out of the industry entirely. Is he You
and I have spoken about that, and Taylor reminded me
and said to me, actually said to me, hey, have
you forgotten who you are? You're still gut huts. Let's go.
Let's go do this. So Taylor had already been let
go by Metal Lark. I was never let go. I
was not let go. Okay, okay, okay, Well what happened

(08:19):
to you? Then explained, you just got taken off the slack.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
Yes, but I was not let go. I told him, Hey,
I don't think I could do both of these right now.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
We had a slack, we did.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
You were just slacking.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
He's in a control room. I sent him out to
a control room. We found the control room out of
here because normally you don't have your executive producer in
the same room as you doing a show. He needs
to communicate with me, so now he has his own.
I call it the VIP room for those I was

(09:00):
waiting for you to help me out. So the more
I got to know Taylor, the more I saw a
younger version of myself. And Taylor really picked me up
at a point when I was really down. And so
in part, I wanted to do this because I know
how badly Taylor wants to make it in this industry,

(09:22):
and I know that I could help Taylor get to
the places that he wants, the control room that he
wants to get to, the VIP room. Yes, to talk
about Bellinger, and I'm gonna try not to get emotional here.
But of all the people to walk away from our

(09:45):
show and Metal Arc Media and stand by my side,
and quite frankly, many of them should have done it
and didn't do it, the person I was least expecting
to do it was Israel goody Eras, and I just
wanted to say, Ezie, I don't know if I've ever
told you this, but I am thankful that you decided

(10:07):
to stand with me. I am thankful that you decided
to go on this adventure, this journey with me, And
I just wanted to say that I love you because
it means that much to me. Your friendship, your words,
your encouragement, uh, all of it. This show is going
to be about us, plain and simple. You're either going

(10:28):
to fall in love with this crew or you're not.
And quite frankly, I don't give a damn if you do.
I hope that you do, but if you don't, you don't.
I can't force you to care about us, but I
care about these people, and I would like you to
care about these people because these people have been there
for me at a time where I really needed friends,

(10:50):
and I really needed people to boost me up and
remind me. Like Taylor said, who the hell I am?
And so here we are. We started doing a podcast,
Dogatson Company. It has turned into a national radio show.
I am very proud of that, and I'm very proud
of everything that we've done and everything that we're about

(11:11):
to do because we're just getting started here now. We
got thrown in on the two busiest sports days of
the year. So I wasn't able to do this because
we came off the divisional round of the playoffs. Now
we had a national championship game, and then we had
a coaching carousel that just doesn't stop. Also in national
holiday and a national holiday. So here I am introducing
ourselves to you the audience eight seven, seven ninety nine

(11:33):
on Fox. I want you in the audience, if you're listening,
to think of me as one of you. I slipped
through the cracks. I'm not certain I should be here.
I'm not certain if I deserve to be here, But
here I am, and I have had a great career
and that career is not over. Made it all the

(11:55):
way to ESPN. I represent you. I am the guy
in the car who's.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
I'm gonna say something like, are you sure we're even
on those markets? And then that's gonna be the break.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Guys, Fox Sports Radio and iHeart and it's been a
remarkable run. It really has, and it's going to continue
and we'll see if we're you know, we'll see how
much sports we're gonna talk. But this show has to
be about us. So if you're driving around, just know that.
I don't know if I'm qualified. I have no training
in this. I didn't go to school for this. I

(12:27):
didn't go to Syracuse, I didn't go to Northwestern. I
went to the Connecticut School of Broadcasting after I graduated
in five years of Clark University. So but I know
how to talk, and I know how to entertain, and
I know how to communicate, and I know what. I
have fun and I love sports, and I hope that
comes through and we talk about sports, hopefully the way

(12:48):
you and your dopey friends talk about sports in a
way that's weird, in a way that's just unrealistic. To
be quite honest with you, we dabble in the hypotheticals
all the time. We're not you know. Sometimes we make
points not back by facts. We don't care. Is he,
I should point out, is a very credible journalist. I
have no idea what he's doing here except being my friend,
because he really, I mean, of the four of us,

(13:11):
he's probably the one that will not delve into crazy
hypothetical situations like the way we do. But we like
to have fun, we like to laugh. It's sports. I'm
not splitting atoms. We're not curing cancer. We're talking about sports.
We are talking about who is going to be the
next Buffalo Bill's head coach. And so I just want

(13:31):
everyone to know out there, Okay, whether it's Scotty in Oklahoma,
or Mikey in Boston, or Bill on a car phone
or Ted in Dallas. I just want you guys to
know that I am you. I just slipped through the cracks.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Are you sure we're even on on those markets?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
It's a great point. I have no idea good duck.
I think I have to do a livery yes. And
so what I'm gonna do for the remainder of this
show is have some fun, play some mistakes for the
first two days, because there have been plenty, and I'm
gonna take your phone calls eight seven seven ninety nine

(14:14):
on Fox. That is eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
I told Joe Shane, not today, Tomorrow, I need to
speak to Bill on a mobile phone. Uh told them.
Joe was like, what do you mean?

Speaker 6 (14:25):
I'm ready to go?

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Is it Joe?

Speaker 7 (14:26):
Not?

Speaker 6 (14:26):
Today?

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Today is for tedd and Kansas? Are we on in Kansas?

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Taylor confirming with the with the team back here.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
So it is myself, it is Israel Goudieirez, who is fantastic.
It is Taylor, it is mikey A. There'll be a
million voices coming in and out of this place. Some days.
Is he won't be here. Some days Michael let Junior
could be here. Diana Rissin he could be here, Butmani
Jones could be here. Me and Taylor will always be here.

(14:59):
We're well, We're going to be here. We have no choice.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
We have some calls here eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. That's eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
We'll get to the Buffalo Bill's press conference here in
just a second. I also have a metal stand of
mistakes over the first two days on our show, because
we've been thrown together in a studio and we love
it here. We do everyone at iHeart. Everyone in this
building in Pembric Pines has been fantastic, super helpful. But

(15:35):
there have been some struggles with communication which have led
to some very funny moments. And we are going to
be a show that laughs at itselfs because at ourselves,
because that's the only way I know how to do it.
It's the way I've been doing it for twenty years.
I don't take myself very seriously, and I certainly don't
take this or sports as serious as I probably should.

(15:55):
You definitely laugh a lot. We have laughed a lot
for the wrong reason sometimes, and we will get to
those in just a minute here. But first let's go
out to Sean in Sacramento. It's sack Town. Sean, go ahead, yea,
what up?

Speaker 6 (16:11):
Stud up? Is he get busy? Man?

Speaker 8 (16:12):
First of all model on the new show, Man, longtime listener, Man,
first time caller.

Speaker 9 (16:17):
But I gotta ask.

Speaker 8 (16:18):
Man the elephant in the room that nobody has asked it. Man,
what is a relationship with Nan Lebatar not Patrick? Is
your time on that show completely done at this point?
And do you plan on taking a one double, a
NC doublea basketball job with the next two years. I'll
take the answer off the air and congrat again, brothers.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
All right, thank you, Sean.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
I have no idea what my relationship is like and
whether or not to leave back on that show. Also, Sean,
if you learn anything from a journalist, don't stack up
your questions like that.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Just one question yes.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
Otherwise I'll just pick and choose whatever I want to
answer or who can answer it.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Yees that matter? Yes, that was nice of Sean to
ask about your relationship with Dan, whether or not you'll
be back on the show. That show'st my name on it,
and I'm still I staw have a contract with that,
I mean, and I'm the second largest shareholder in that company.
I believe. He also said my middle name get busy. Yes,
I so badly want to get to UH to the

(17:14):
press conference, but I told Joe Shay not today so
I could speak to Dustin and IOWA. Dustin, go ahead.
You are on Fox Sports Radio. My friend Stu.

Speaker 9 (17:23):
Gott, congrats on the move. Can't wait to listen.

Speaker 8 (17:25):
I've also noticed that.

Speaker 9 (17:27):
There's h what's the nine radio days less than January?
What's up with that?

Speaker 7 (17:32):
I know?

Speaker 9 (17:34):
Anyway, My question Mike McDaniel, Justin Herbert's crash course, how
are they not a Super Bowl contender next year?

Speaker 2 (17:41):
I'll hang up on all right, Thank you appreciate it.
They should be listen Justin Herbert because he now gets
Mike McDaniel as an offensive coordinator along with a great
head coach and Jim Harbob who has not been able
to get the We've seen a better Justin Herbert. We
haven't seen a Justin Herbert. Is he that advances the playoffs?

(18:01):
He's out of excuses if he can't get it done
with Mike McDaniel. Justin Herbert has run out of excuses.
Because I would say, of all the people who are
available as offensive coordinators here in this coaching carousel, Mike
McDaniel was the most coveted one.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
Did the Chargers decide that they were going to go
with Mike McDaniel instead of improving their offensive line because
Mike McDaniel did good things.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
With a questionable offensive line in Miami.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Because I think everybody who's watched the Chargers, especially in
that playoff game, said get that man some protection. I
don't know if Mike McDaniel's speed, first speed, second speed,
third offense is necessarily what's gonna save Justin Herbert's behind
when he's behind a leaky offensive line.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
Part of the reason though the Chargers had such a
bad offensive line, they lost two all Pro caliber players
to injury. Ray Shawn Slater goes down in training and
then Joe Alt their first round pick. If you're the
Chargers right now this offseason. You just throw everything on
your offensive line and don't worry about the defense right now.
Just say, hey, we are going to score fifty points

(19:12):
a game. I dare you to beat us.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
The great thing that I like about McDaniel and Herbert
together is obviously Herbert can make every throw. But one
of the issues with Tua was his ability to see
over the offensive line, see over the line, and Justin
Herbert doesn't have that issue. So if a lot of
movement and there's a lot of reads that Herbert has
maybe immediately off right off the snap, he can just

(19:37):
see those a little bit better and make decisions maybe
a little bit quicker than even Tua did. So I
think that potential has a lot, you know, just has
a lot of potential there.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
I'm just not.

Speaker 3 (19:46):
Sure how well Justin Herbert's style is necessarily going to
match Mike McDaniel's offense.

Speaker 6 (19:52):
We'll see.

Speaker 5 (19:54):
I'm done talking about Justin Herbert as a potential great
quarterback until he wins something, right. I'm sick of the
excuses with this guy, like you're a loser until proven otherwise,
I'm never gonna pick you. I'm never gonna pick a
playoff game and go, oh, that Chargers team is really good.
Justin Herbert looks like a guy. Now, until you do it,

(20:16):
you're a loser to me.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Taylor put it on the poll, Justin Herbert. Until you
do it, you're a loser to me. Yes or no.
I do think Mike McDaniel and LA is a perfect fit.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
Like if that dude is on the sideline as an
offensive coordinator head to toe and Louis v Yes, I
think people will embrace.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
That he looked out of place here in Miami. He
did just he tried to fit in. But I think
that was the part, Like I think he tried too hard.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
He showed up as the very genuine, sort of dorky,
likable head coach with a quirky personality and then sort
of leaned into the Miami of it all, yes, and
became a guy who I mean, look, I don't think
it was awkward or cringe worthy or anything like that.
He was just in himself, yeah, this version of himself.

(21:02):
And some people were like, I don't know, you got
to win to do that, and he wasn't doing enough winning.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
I'm not certain a team in the NFL's ever averaged
fifty points a game.

Speaker 4 (21:10):
What time should we have next break?

Speaker 10 (21:16):
Well?

Speaker 4 (21:16):
Remember that one game with Mike McDaniel against the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Yeah it was seventy, yes, but it was one game.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
I think about that game probably once a week. It's
kind of like my Roman Empire thing that that they
say all guys think about once a week.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Do you have a VIP room? You're loving the room,
and I think you're loving what you love most about
it is you're not in this room with me anymore.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
Yeah, so it smelled like a chimney in there.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
Well, I mean, listen, if Izzy would stop smoking, I mean, geez.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
Mike lungs feel significantly healthier in this room.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
I mean, is he got a problem.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
It's already been twice Taylor, where I've been outside, like
I'd have to go to my car, baby, go get
some food, and I ceased to do and I'm like
start walking toward him, and then I see the cigarette
and I'm like, immediate backtrack.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
I want to be anywhere. You know what in Rome?
Is he? Because you're out there you're smoking, and I figure,
I don't even smoke. I'm like, all right, Well, if
Iusy's gonna have one. I'm gonna have one. Fine, I'll
start smoking. Yes, I also take no responsibility. Since we're
introducing ourselves today to the audience, let's go out to uh.
This is listen. This is why I came back to radio.

(22:26):
Most people are fleeing radio. They are they're leaving it.
I decided to leave it and then come back because
I missed it so much. And what I missed most
was talking to Chasin Alabama. Chasing Alabama. Go ahead, you
are on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (22:41):
Do God? Yeah, how great it is to hear your
voice again. I know you've got a podcast, you've been
out there, but the way I consume content, it's just
got to come to me. When I kept my radio
home heard ste Gott's coming out of it, a smile
on my face. It's great to hear from you as well,
miss you. But I just wanted to say, man, it's

(23:01):
great to hear you again. I'm glad you got out
of the Livertar share.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
Okay, Well, yeah, the name's still on the show, and
I'm supposed to do like twenty four shows before March first.
I think I don't know what the deal is. I
don't know what, but thank you Chase, I appreciate it. Listen.
I got into this industry to do radio. I grew
up listening to sports radio. I grew up listening to Wfan,
Mike and the mad Dog. One of the coolest things
later on in my life and my career here has

(23:27):
been the relationships I have formed both with Mike Francesa
and Christopher Maddog where so I do Dog Show every
Friday at five. I love sports radio. I loved listening
to it. And I said to my dad one day
in the car we were driving around listening to Mike
and Chris. I said, Dad, are they getting paid to
do this? He said, yes, They're probably getting paid a lot.
And I said, I want to do that for a living.
And so I pursued it relentlessly. And when we left radio,

(23:51):
me and Dan ESPN Radio, I don't know, four or
five years ago, that was not something I wanted to do,
and I always intended to get back on the radio
because this is what I love. I love talk radio.
I love taking calls, I love giving out a phone number.
I love them. We have the perfect ending. I can't
go to break because I have to do a live read.
So wait a second, you asked your dad, Hey, dad,

(24:14):
do they make a lot of money by having other
people call them and ask them questions to fill time?
I love that idea. I would love to do that. Wait, Dad,
So they pay people a lot of money for other
people to do their jobs.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Your dad was wrong, by the way. They weren't getting
paid a lot of money back then.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
They were not. But I think they were trailblazers, those guys.
They were. And I'm pretty certain I could be wrong,
and we'll have Mike on at some point, but I
think FRANCESSA was the first one to make north of
a million bucks doing this like and deserved every damn
penny of it. Quite frankly, they were getting like twenty
shares and the number one more kid in America's I
would like to go to there to a million.

Speaker 6 (24:53):
Please.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
You would just like me to send you every two
weeks anything if you stop smoking. If I didn't think
all the money I was gonna say was gonna go
towards cartons of cigarettes. I started smoking as soon as
I joined ST got some company. Oh man, H Taylor,
can you tell the audience why We'll get to the

(25:15):
sound in a minute press conference sound and I wish
I could have taken a call right there, because is
he deeded up perfectly for me having other people do
our jobs. But I'm gonna have Taylor do our job
right now. Why are you so excited about Bellinger? This
is not a day to be excited about Bellinger. It's
just no one gets it. I listen, I realize there
are three football games remaining. Depression sets in. I know

(25:37):
we can't wait to get to the end here, and
then we'll miss it two weeks after it's over because
we're dealing with pitchers and catchers showing up. So why
are you so excited about Bellinger today? I understand after
the Super Bowl, But why today are you so excited
about Bellinger and your beloved short porch.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
So when you could run a team, when you could
run it back with a slightly worse team that failed expectations,
you gotta do it every time you can, and so
far this offseason, you're looking at who the Yankees have signed. Yes,
we re signed Trent Grisham. He called our bluff with
that qualifying offer exactly. He stinks, but he did have
a career year last year. To be fair to they

(26:13):
bring back a mod Rosario, they bring back Paul Blackburn,
they bring back Ryan Yarbo. What you're noticing is, I'm
not saying they're adding anybody. They're just bringing people back.
And not only are they bringing people back, we're losing
Luke Weaver, We're losing Devin Williams. Where we're losing pieces
left and right in our bullpen. Yes, So for the
Yankee fan, we're taking any small wins we can. That's

(26:34):
that's how far the Yankee brand has regressed to this
point where we're now just excited when we bring a
player back. So that that's why we're excited about Bellinger.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
And it's crazy because your excitement is going to lead
right into a work stoppage.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Yep, because everywhere the strike Yes, yes, are you right
because you know you're not gonna win a World Series?

Speaker 4 (26:54):
Is that correct?

Speaker 2 (26:55):
We got to stop the Dodgers, So you'd rather have
no baseball but not make it to the World Series.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
Yes, And a lot of people are saying it's hypocritical
of Yankee fans like me and mikey A for saying
how unfair it is of the Dodgers spending the nineties
team they were homegrown. If you want to point out
the two thousand and nine World Series that we were
buying people Aj Burnett, Cecispatia, Mark DESCHERA. I'll give you
two thousand and nine. The rest of the team's homegrown

(27:22):
a lot different scenario.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Mikey A. He's turning into me. You see it, right,
You've noticed it. He is turning into me. He's yeah,
but he's supposed to be right.

Speaker 6 (27:34):
It's getting scary.

Speaker 5 (27:35):
How if you just read me a quote, I'm not
sure at this point if I could determine if you
Senator of Taylor said.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
It well, I mean, after the long monolog for him
to say, I'm not certain more on in any of
those markets. I mean just chef's kiss, I love you, dude.

Speaker 6 (27:51):
We're everywhere with the IHEARTRATEO right.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
Scott Shapiro quickly reminded us the man who was in
charge of this place and made this deal happen and
hired us. He quickly reminded us that we're on in
every city everywhere, not just in the United States but
across the globe. Wow. I mean I didn't go to
Syracuse got into Syracuse. My daughter got into Syracuse. I'll

(28:18):
tell you when Rachel was determined. I have twin daughters,
by the way, one of them plays lacrosse at Northwestern.
It's the Alabama of women's lacrosse. I'm sorry, it's the
Indiana of women's lacrosse. And she was choosing. She had
offers from Syracuse, and she had offers from a lot
of schools, but it was down to Syracuse at Northwestern.

(28:39):
And she asked me, and I always told her, listen,
if you're gonna work this hard, use this special talent
that you have to get into a school that you wouldn't.

Speaker 6 (28:46):
Normally get into.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
And so that's why she ended up choosing choosing Northwestern
because that's a school she would not normally have gotten into.
And so when she asked me, which one should I
go to? I said, listen to me. Your sister got
into Syracuse.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
What a dad you are, Dad of a year, the
keyon Coleman of his family.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
We'll get to the press conference night.

Speaker 11 (29:50):
Will we watch Lucomucho, the Bawn can steal, make it
put dive down the middle, off the Bill.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Big Win and I for the Lake Show. They're gonna
be twenty six and sixteen. Nuggets are now twenty nine
and fifteen. They're gonna be two more times.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
I'm so glad that was an NBA highlight, by the way,
because I want to ease you guys into some NBA talk.
I know you're in your depression mode because there's only
three more NFL games left, But I mean, let me
ease you in.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Next hour with some very simple NBA talk. Is that
Callinger is back? I mean that's fine, We've discussed that.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
And we can even go into the Buffalo Bill's press
conference here if we want to.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Yes, But next hour, are gonna ease you into some
NBA talk. Oh, yes, we're gonna play the River. We're
gonna play this sound from Pagoula and Bean Okay, Bean,
Brandon Bean, and it's weird what's going on in Buffalo?
And this is such great press conference sound, but it's
weird what's going on in Buffalo where apparently they were
okay with Sean mc they're not okay with the fan,

(31:00):
are not okay with Sean McDermott being let go as
head coach, and they're upset that being somehow kind of
promotion out of this, which is which is strange. I
don't get why Buffalo fans are upset about the coach
getting fired and why they cared so much that coach
had nine seasons to get to a Super Bowl to
a championship game with a generational quarterback and couldn't get

(31:24):
it done. And we'll play that sound in a second.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
I have a feeling, I know, Like I don't really
know how Buffalo fans feel, but I have a feeling
I know just based on the long term history of
the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
They are known for.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
What let's do, losing, losing right, but losing when reaching
a high level right. They have always been not always
but they are regularly relevant but don't win it all yes,
and I think they latch on to that relevancy. It's like, hey,
the twelve and five, you know, is worse than the
nine and eight that you don't you know what I mean?

(32:01):
So you know McDermott with Alan has been the best
version of Alan. You say you will about whatever offensive
coordinator he's had. But to replicate that over and over
again and think one of these times it's gonna be
our chance. I think they'd rather do that with the
end result being maybe one super Bowl, because man.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
That's all they needs to do is one, just one.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
Just give me one and I'll get over all of
that losing with Jim Kelly, et cetera, and all that
losing to Patrick Mahomes. So that's where I think they're upset,
because you could bring in somebody and it could be
a complete disaster, regardless of how good Josh Allen right.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
They're also known for circling the wagons. I wish that
would have been my first answer. Taylor got to my
headset just a little too late. We are gonna peel
back the curtain. I don't care. I don't mind telling
you that Taylor planted that line in my head because
he did, and he deserves credit for it. And that

(33:04):
line at the end of the first segment, after that
beautiful monologue that I did telling everyone how much I
love them so much, that line I gave that to Tailor.
How about that it's too many curtains, close the curtains. Damn.
Let's play this press conference sad withol. Have you ever
heard him speak before? By the way, Terry, it should

(33:25):
be Joe. It should be Joe. Just hits harder, but
it's Terry. And until yesterday, no, I had not heard
him speak. Okay, well, here's the press conference with Pagoula,
Joe and Brandon Beat. We don't have this sound okay,
we don't have this. We're sloppy. It's communication to stuff

(33:47):
around here. We have a crew in in Fort Lauderdale
and we have a crew in LA. Okay. The guys
told me in LA, who are great. I'm going to
introduce you to them next week. By the way, okay,
because they are family. Now, so again, here is Pagola,
whose first name should be Joe, with his general manager,
Brandon Bean.

Speaker 10 (34:04):
My decision to bring in a new coach was based
on the results of our game in Denver. I know
we can do better, and I know we will get better.
I did not fire a coach based on a bad
officiating decision. If I can take you into that locker room,
I felt like we hit the proverbial playoff wall, year

(34:27):
after year, thirteen seconds, missfield goals, the catch. I just
sensed in that locker room, like, where do we go
from here?

Speaker 2 (34:39):
I just sensed it.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
I just had the feeling, and that feeling did not
include Sean McDermott. Would that sense have been the same
if the loss would have happened in the AFC Championship
game again to the Buffalo Bills, it probably would have.
But I think that's the most important time to take
a step back last time. And we talk about this,

(35:01):
whether it comes to players retiring, whether it comes to
players changing teams. The last time you want to make
that emotional decision is right after the most emotional moment,
especially when it's happened multiple times, because if you scale
back and take a look, you'll say, hey, that's not
too bad losing in the playoffs all the time, Hey,
that's not too bad having this quarterback and having high expectations,

(35:25):
like I think I'm okay with giving this another go,
especially when you look around and say, oh, no team
has a coach.

Speaker 6 (35:33):
Think about how bad of losers you have to be?

Speaker 5 (35:35):
Where all you have to say is the and then
some event like the miss field goal, right, the bad call?

Speaker 6 (35:44):
Yes, and everybody knows exactly what you're talking.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Yeah, but if not for the bad call, and I
think this is Easy's point, he's probably still the coach, right.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
I mean, well, that's the other thing, right, if Josh
Allen hits Dalton Kincaid on that wide open route that
he had, and if they win that game, I mean,
what are we saying here? I think it's an entirely
different conversation.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
So I just think it's the.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
Wrong time to make an emotional decision and then say
it wasn't an emotional decision when you were basing it
on vibes.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
All right, do we have the the parts there with
Keon Coleman, because that's the laugh out loud funny. Can
I hear it? Do we have that stuff back in La?

Speaker 7 (36:18):
Well?

Speaker 2 (36:18):
The laugh out loud part is that we should have
asked this before we Yes, but we don't plan things
out because we're not terribly organized. And again I didn't
go to Syracuse or Northwestern guys back in LA. Do
we have that sound for the audience for me?

Speaker 6 (36:30):
Please?

Speaker 2 (36:31):
Okay, let's play that sound because this is why I
maintain it's the funniest press conference sound in the history
of press conferences, because what we just played wasn't very funny.
Go ahead, we don't have it. Yes, I wanted Brandon.

(36:52):
I wanted Pegoula cutting off Brandon Bean and explaining the
pick of.

Speaker 10 (37:00):
I'll address the Keon situation. The coaching staff pushed to
draft Kian. I'm not saying Brandon wouldn't have drafted him,
but he wasn't his next choice. That was Brandon being
a team player and taking advice of his coaching staff.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
Why would you do that? It's amazing when Keon Coleman
is on the team. He scored a touchdown last week
and then the jet Well, Brandon Bean will tell you.

Speaker 3 (37:35):
Don't say that because that makes me look even worse
because I am not doing my job.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
I am allowing the coaches to decide who I draft.
I will say that sentence again. He scored a touchdown
last week.
