Let's give this.
Speaker 4 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Eight seven seven ninety nine. On Fox.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
I explained this to the listeners a week ago. You
can call in and talk about whatever it is you
want to talk about. It doesn't have to be what
we're talking about, because we're usually talking about nonsense.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
You could take the conversation wherever you want to take it.
We're good with that.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
You can ask us anything, just about anything.
Speaker 5 (00:46):
Just not about rope hats.
Speaker 6 (00:50):
I'm workshopping a line for Carl Douglas right now.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
I can't wait. Carl Douglas going to join us at
four point thirty. He's mad at me because he wanted
to come on yesterday. He rearranged his schedule. He said,
nothing ever changes. He got mad at me. I said,
stop yelling at me, Carl, save it for the air.
So he's gonna yell at me. I wonder if he
remember his time with me and Sadano on ESPN Radio.
(01:14):
He won't.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
I shouldn't say that.
Speaker 5 (01:22):
I have no idea he might be right.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
It just hurts.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Is he will get to some sound here of JJ Reddick,
punctious dookie.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
We'll get to him in just a second. But I
am upset here because I wanted to see. I'm all
about the stories in sports, right, and the Lakers were
a great story. Lebron trying to get his fifth championship,
Lebron taking a back seat to Austin Reeves and Luca.
Speaker 5 (01:50):
But Austin Reeves he's not a back yes.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
And his willingness to be the third best player on
a team that has a chance to win a champion.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
And they were playing so well before Luca.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Went down, and then Austin Reeves went down, and I
am upset that we're going to be stripped of that
opportunity to see if that team could have.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Pulled it off.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Well, Luca is somewhere and I want to say, Spain
trying to heal his hamstring magically, so you never know.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
He took Austin with them, by the way, Yes.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Okay, yes, I mean they're going to come back stronger
than ever, I guess, so maybe we shouldn't write.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
There eulogy just yet.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
It is sad because of what a great March they had,
and specifically Luca, Like, that's when I was thinking all
throughout that run in March, is like, so this is
what it looked like when he got the Mavericks to
the finals when nobody thought they could even you know, maybe.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Get past the second round.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
And so when you try to project that in this
lineup or this roster that earlier in the season we're
being told as not.
Speaker 5 (02:46):
A championship roster.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Now, when you've got the guy playing like the most
valuable player in the league in Luca, and a third
option that looks like Lebron James, then you're suddenly saying
to yourself, why can't this team make a run, especially
when there's basically just the Thunder as a front runner
out there and it seems like the championships up for grabs.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
So they played the Thunder last night. Lebron did not
play in that game. Yes, and okay, see, well listen,
if you get arrest them, that would be a spot
to rest if you're not winning that game if Lebron plays.
But hold on a second before we get to this,
Dan has breaking news. This is very.
Speaker 7 (03:23):
Exciting breaking news from Fox Sport.
Speaker 8 (03:28):
Well, guys, the results are in from last night's brawl
in Anaheim. Angels DH Jorge Solaire and Braves Pitcher and
Aldo Lopez have been suspended seven games for their roles
last night. Jeff Passen and ESPN reporting both are appealing
those seven game bands.
Speaker 7 (03:46):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
I would be a little bit more upset if I
got the exact same suspension as the guy who was
throwing punches with the baseball in his hand.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
I think he should have gotten at least one extra game.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I got a little bit nervous there because I said
very exciting, realizing right after I said that that Dan
could be reporting a death would have.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Been we were have worked around it.
Speaker 6 (04:07):
How you're some exciting news?
Speaker 5 (04:13):
How would you have worked around that?
Speaker 2 (04:17):
You're a professional.
Speaker 7 (04:18):
That's what If anybody could set.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
These kids off off of Augusta National, Please, they're just
disrespecting the plays. One of Cam Young's kids just face
planted it.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
It's friends and family. This is what Augusta is all about. Okay,
it's the column before the storm.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
It seems pretty stormy over there.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
You bring your family out, the kid's caddie, Jason Kelsey
hits tea shots my kids outside the ropes the Can
I hear Tom Rinaldi? Just just just two words?
Speaker 5 (04:52):
Just can I hear it?
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Does anyone have it?
Speaker 9 (04:54):
That's Augusta can fit so much in that that little
paw between that's in a gust.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
I should have just played that when I played. So
back to the Lakers here for a second before we
get to John and Kelly. So they lose last night
to Oklahoma City, they get blown out, Lebron doesn't play,
and JJ Reddick and Iowa Sam have the sound ready.
This is him after the game, ripping everyone but Lebron,
Luke Austin Reeves.
Speaker 10 (05:22):
You know, I just called the early time out because
Ruey didn't do his job and so took him out
of the game. I'm not We've got to get We
got to find nine guys that are are like.
Speaker 7 (05:33):
All in on us fighting.
Speaker 11 (05:36):
What LEDs the exchange between you and Jared Vanderbilt early
on the second.
Speaker 7 (05:39):
Quarter, just you know, a confluence of things.
Speaker 10 (05:43):
Again, it's you know, not getting nothing personal with him
about normal stuff from my end, and I think for
all of us, you know, being undermanned and we've got
a scrap and claw, we've got to all be on
the same page. We got to have the great teammates,
we got to all play hard. Called the time out
(06:05):
to get him out of the game, and I you know,
he reacted, but again normal interaction for me.
Speaker 12 (06:13):
What was in I guess what was he not doing
in his shift?
Speaker 7 (06:16):
Then to take him out like well, again it was
it was a confluence of things.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Dan JJ you mentioned on Saturday the practice for the
Dallas game that you're gonna havek DeAndre to do some
different things.
Speaker 13 (06:29):
How what what are those things?
Speaker 10 (06:31):
And how do you think he's you know, he's had
trouble catching the ball, so we ran a bunch of
plays for him.
Speaker 12 (06:35):
He's just had trouble catching the ball.
Speaker 10 (06:37):
And you know, I don't know if that's the passing
or if it's you know, him trying to get positioned.
Speaker 12 (06:41):
He just he hasn't been able to catch the ball.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
The R in Reddick doesn't stand for responsibility. It's never
his fault.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
It's always somebody else's fault. I mean, these are guys
who weren't expecting to play. It's certainly not expecting to
play this many minutes now DeAndre eight and not being
able to catch after being the number one overall pick.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
He's right about that.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
I got him pronouncing confluence wrong and he kept saying it.
I got a question when it comes to JJ Reddick
or any coach that decides to do this style of coaching. Yeah,
it's basically the chicken or the egg question which comes
first his winning at a high level so that he
earns these players' respects and therefore can talk to them.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Like this, back to back fifty one seasons for them.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
Okay, but winning what fifty games?
Speaker 14 (07:24):
Is that?
Speaker 5 (07:24):
Are we saying that's winning?
Speaker 14 (07:25):
No?
Speaker 1 (07:26):
I'm with you.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
He hasn't want anything, right, yes, or do you have to?
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Or can you just be this guy and just be
a jerk and then say, Hey, they're going to have
to respect me because I'm their coach and he has
no other option, Like, I don't see this ending well
for him unless he does something with the Lakers that
is a surprise finish, right, Because I don't know if
you saw this, but Jared Vanderbilt after he called the
time out, Jared Vanderbilt went directly into that little coach's
(07:50):
huddle and went face to face with JJ Reddick and
was questioning him and was pointing to the bench, and
JJ says after the game, that's a normal interaction for me,
Like what coach who has not won a dang thing
is allowed to have these types of interactions And other
players are going to be like, Yeah, that's the guy
I want.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
To play for, the one who's friends with Lebron. I mean,
how close are they really?
Speaker 2 (08:12):
He well, does he rip Lebron?
Speaker 15 (08:14):
Well?
Speaker 3 (08:14):
I mean he did say we're a better team if
he's our third option, and that's not really ripping Lebron.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
That's him being honest with it.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
And Lebron kind of fell into it, and it was
just like fine, you can say whatever you want. But
there are other players in the league, like Jared Vanderbilt
is not going to be very happy there. Other people
are not going to be happy with the way JJ
Riddick talks to you, because he talks to you the way.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
He would an opponent when he was still playing.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
So I think the problem with some of these players is, hey,
when Luca was healthy, when Reeves was healthy, you were
not talking to them the way you're talking to us.
We were thrust it into this position because those guys
got hurt. We're not supposed to be playing this many
minutes in these types of games, and so what do
you want us to do? Did you really expect did
he expect the Lakers to go out and win that
(08:56):
game last night? So what does he do afterwards? He
rips all the play that he might eventually need down
the road if those guys get healthy.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
If I'm Jared Vanderbilt, I'm saying I need to hear
you rip Luca for complaining to the refs all the
time and not getting back up.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Buys you some credibility with me, right? You rip him,
you can rip me.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
You look at Eric Spolster, going back to when he
was sort of thrust into big time coaching with Lebron,
Dwayne and Chris Bosh. He had already had a couple
of years under his belt. But he didn't act like this, right,
He didn't act like he was entitled like everybody, it's
me or the highway.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
He just tried to get everybody to get along.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
So Doc Rivers told his team to google him. But
he can because he's won a title. I mean, you
could do that.
Speaker 6 (09:34):
You know, I'm imagining being in that locker room right
now and a player sitting there and says, hey, coach,
that says you're the only coach in NBA history you
blow multiple three one leads.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
And Coach, when I google you, nothing good seems to
come up.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
So coach, I on Google.
Speaker 6 (09:49):
Hey coach, when I google you, this says you've gone
sixteen and thirty four with a chance to close out series.
Speaker 5 (09:55):
No, no, google this specific phrase.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Just go to the part about the Celtics.
Speaker 8 (10:05):
Only there early Google me from two thousand and eight
to two thousand and nine, and no more.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
There is something ridiculous about JJ Reddick doing this. Who
got the job because he was doing a podcast with Lebron.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
James and he hasn't want anything.
Speaker 12 (10:20):
What are we doing?
Speaker 5 (10:21):
Kind of ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Yeah, it would only be more ridiculous if next year
they fired JJ Reddick and replaced him with Steve Nash, the.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
Current a co host on the podcast Good Happened.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
Let's go to John and Maine. John, You're on Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Go ahead, thanks to love in the show.
Speaker 16 (10:37):
Thank you you brought up to change the subjects or
talk about anything everything for all the pro players now
just everything is about contract and Cooper Flag.
Speaker 17 (10:52):
Loves he seems to love the game, and I think
I'm those coming in. I think he loves to just play.
Are there any players out there that you see that
just forget about the money and just love playing the
sport that they want to do? I'll show you.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Ask if they play for free, like they would play
the game for free? Is what you're asking you?
Speaker 17 (11:16):
So well, you know, I'm old school. They the players
used to be like they'd get paid nothing and they
would just love the game. They didn't care they played
for what they played for or how much they were paid.
They just truly, truly just love love to play.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Yeah, I think Brady's the guy.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
I thank you.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
I do. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
There are players today these days, former players who are
still angry that they didn't make as much money as
the players who are playing today. So I don't know
if they kiss just a false memory or if you're
just creating, you know, making this the pass, like this
amazing place where the athletes wanted to play for free.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
I will say this that once you start playing these sports,
you were playing for the love of the game. Once
you get to the level of being a professional athlete,
you're still playing for the love of the game, but
it comes with a big paycheck attached to it. And
once you start getting those paychecks, you wait play playing
for free.
Speaker 6 (12:19):
I think the thing we've seen the closest to the
love of the game playing for free the Dominican Republic
team in the World Baseball Classic.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (12:28):
Those guys were just out there just having fun.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
Yeah, yeah, you're right, they were.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
As anybody would be if you're when we played flag football.
Speaker 6 (12:36):
I'm not having I can promise you right now, I'm
not having fun.
Speaker 12 (12:41):
You know.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
He showed me a he downloaded a highlight.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Yeah it's one more highlight than he had when he
played at the University of North Carolina.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
But it was him baiting a wide receiver.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
I think he told him he was taking a playoff
and he wasn't, and he came in and he picked
a pass off. He has a highlight reel.
Speaker 5 (12:57):
Got football.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
He's got so far two weeks, he's got too long
touchdowns and an interception, and so yeah, he's definitely.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
Having a good time.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
I know he's having a good season. But listen, let
me be very clear about this. Taylor doesn't want to
be there.
Speaker 6 (13:09):
I'm not having fun because because after the game is
he's like, hey, what are you doing? I'm like, dude,
we just lost, Like I just want to go home.
Speaker 5 (13:17):
So if we won, you'd want to go out for Drakes.
Speaker 6 (13:20):
If in the scenario, yes, but is he We've played
four games now between two sports, uh huh, and we
haven't even come really closed to winning.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
You I played, I had won at bat and soft Fall.
But here, make me this promise. We have a doubleheader
this Saturday. Okay, Jesus, that's awful. If we win one day,
one of the two games, yeah, you're coming out for
Drakes after.
Speaker 6 (13:41):
So this is going to be tough because the Yankees
are in Tampa Bay this weekend.
Speaker 5 (13:45):
Ye, we're not going to Tampa and Tampa Bay is.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
Within within driving distance and it's moving day.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Oh come on, I would tank both games.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
No, no, no, he's saying he's not gonna make it
because he's going to Dampa. If you don't make it
out of double header week man, come.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
On, Well, not making it is tanking it me and
he's tanked the.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
Gase when I didn't make it. I made sure you
guys had enough to play.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Yeah, let's go to Kelly, who's in North Carolina before
we get to Carl Douglas.
Speaker 18 (14:09):
Kelly, go ahead, hey guys, and thank you for getting
Carl Douglas and I've missed him on Godless Football. My
question is I was wondering if the Marlins attendance would
increase if they only sold merchandise at the stadium like
the Masters.
Speaker 5 (14:25):
Ooh, that's a good call.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Wow, So they just sell merch at the stadium they're
not playing games.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
Well, if you're the Marlins, do you make more money
off of ticket sales they're off merchandise, because I'm guessing
your merch is probably doing better than your tickets.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Said, but what you just go to the stadium, You
go to Marlins Park and there's no baseball.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
You can only buy the merch if you buy a
ticket for the game while it's happy.
Speaker 6 (14:46):
Ricardo's their number one customer for merch. Yeah.
Speaker 12 (14:50):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
If we have this sound for later, maybe we can
play it. But there's a Rockies pitcher who used to
play for the Marlins who said that he never saw
any Miami Marlins gear.
Speaker 5 (14:59):
And I'll it was like, this man does not no
Ricardo Bord out Ricardo.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
How much money have you spent on Marlin's merch for years?
Speaker 2 (15:07):
I'm just thankful I don't have a family.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Yes, I'll be naked because you got all the money
for clothes.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
But you're getting it for free? Right, I hope you are?
Are you?
Speaker 6 (15:18):
Unfortunately?
Speaker 17 (15:19):
No?
Speaker 5 (15:19):
What's a real fan right there?
Speaker 2 (15:21):
I mean, what do you have a credential for I.
Speaker 5 (15:24):
Used to get into games for free?
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Yes, legit?
Speaker 8 (15:28):
Question guys here because in southern California, we walk in
any sports store, it's just Dodgers stuff everywhere.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
It's annoying.
Speaker 8 (15:35):
What's it like in South Florida? Like, if you walk
into a sports store, is it Marlin stuff? Is there
any Marlin stuff? Because obviously it's not out here and
Dodgers are dominated? Are they even dominated in South Florida?
Speaker 2 (15:49):
There's a good chance you have more Marlin's gear in
LA than we do in my.
Speaker 8 (15:52):
Yea, all right, so there's no need to keep it
ballpark only if nobody else has it.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
If I walk into a local Dick sporting goods, it's
whatever team is in season, except for baseball because they
never have their starts.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Usually Dolphins and Canes.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
And when I say Dolphins, specifically Damn Marina.
Speaker 6 (16:08):
So stude. This is how I can tell you haven't
been into Dix recently. Yeah, Inner Miami is now the
fad when you go in there, huge, it's just messy jerseys.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Yeah, they flying off the rack or I believe so
now they're nots I mean, get out of here.
Speaker 8 (16:21):
See how are Dick sporting goods? Says Inner Miami in
southern California.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Yes, yeah, they're flying off the rack there.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
No.
Speaker 4 (16:34):

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Carl Douglas with us. He is he's angry with me?
Is he has a question for him? We'll get to
it in just a second.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Carl, listen. I know dealing with me is a very
frustrating thing.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
But you were yelling at me yesterday, man, and let's
I apologize to you, and I love you very much,
but you rearranged your entire schedule. I thought you were
doing that for today, you did it for yesterday. I
screwed up your entire week. I'm sorry, sir.
Speaker 14 (17:10):
Two guys you called me on three hours notice and
they said, can you come on right away? I had
to look up stuff, I had to move things around
until today.
Speaker 15 (17:20):
And then you tell me it's the wrong day. Mikey
sends me something and it's the wrong day.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
My goodness.
Speaker 15 (17:26):
Some things never change. But I love you, my brother,
I love you.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
I love you too. I'm sorry, true professionals, I've tried
changing yi.
Speaker 15 (17:36):
Yeah, this is how he always is.
Speaker 14 (17:37):
Yes, I've been on the air with him in more
than ten years.
Speaker 15 (17:41):
It's not an act, guy, It's not an act.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
No, it's not Carl.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Before we get to this story about Eryl Siegel, an
eighty one year old Dodger fan, fifty year season Ticke
season ticket holder, he doesn't have an iPhone, he has
a flip phone. Before we get to that, he wants
his tickets pretty we'll get to that in a second.
But the Dodgers, Carl, your big Dodger fan. You're a
celebrity Dodger fan. You and Pat Sajack are the only
guys that could have gone to for this. And I
(18:06):
chose you because I love you, and I couldn't get
a hold of Pat Sajack. But this is all a
long way of saying the Dodgers aren't good for baseball.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Carl, they're not good for baseball. How about that, Stu.
Speaker 15 (18:17):
They are fabulous for baseball.
Speaker 14 (18:20):
And I'm certain they're gonna make it right with an
eighty two year old guy who has been a season
ticket holder for fifty years.
Speaker 15 (18:30):
The Dodgers, who I.
Speaker 14 (18:31):
Have loved for more than sixty years, are gonna make
it right.
Speaker 15 (18:35):
I am sure.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
All right.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Have you met this mister Siegel.
Speaker 14 (18:40):
I haven't, Man, but I heard mister Siegel doesn't have
a phone.
Speaker 15 (18:45):
That will make it able to get these tickets.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Yes, I get it.
Speaker 14 (18:48):
You gotta have a cell phone now to go into
it dough to see the Clippers.
Speaker 15 (18:53):
I don't want to see the Clippers.
Speaker 14 (18:55):
But I wouldn't like to go and see the stadium
at least, and I don't want to.
Speaker 15 (18:58):
Put that stuff on my phone. It's ridiculed.
Speaker 14 (19:00):
He's willing to pay more to have printed tickets. There
should be a senior club, call them golden senior fans.
Speaker 15 (19:11):
And if you've had.
Speaker 14 (19:12):
Fifty years of steadfast reliance on the Dodgers, we will
make an exception for you. I'm hoping that my Dodger
leadership is gonna make things right, stew got, and I'm
certain we'll stay on it until it does.
Speaker 13 (19:31):
Carl, I think your fandom is showing a little bit
because you said they're gonna make it right.
Speaker 12 (19:36):
And I'm wondering if you think they.
Speaker 13 (19:37):
Would make it right if it didn't blow up, if
the story didn't blow up the way it has. I
don't think they do anything for this guy except for
media pressure.
Speaker 15 (19:47):
But I'll tell you whatever it takes, mikey A is
gonna take.
Speaker 14 (19:50):
And because Stu is such an icon in the media community,
they are gonna listen to this show. And I'm certain
the Dodger leaders, led by Northwestern Zone Mark Walters.
Speaker 15 (20:04):
We're gonna make it right. That's what we Wildcats do.
Speaker 14 (20:08):
Carl.
Speaker 6 (20:09):
If sho Hal Taney came out and said print the tickets.
I'm not playing until you print the tickets, would the
Dodgers then print the tickets.
Speaker 15 (20:19):
It would This would not have even been a story.
Speaker 14 (20:21):
I'm sure, man if Monkey had said something, if Freddie
Freeman had said something, maybe Kyle Tucker, but if any
of those other Dodger stars had said something, I'm sure.
Now Stu is talking, Carl is talking, is he's talking.
Speaker 15 (20:38):
That's what we need. Let's get this done.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Yes hash tag yes, give him? What are the next
steps here? How do we apply more pressure? What is
Carl Douglas prepared to do here?
Speaker 14 (20:53):
Prepare to put my name on a petition? Hashtag give
him his seat?
Speaker 1 (20:59):
Yes, yes, we.
Speaker 15 (21:00):
Should do that.
Speaker 14 (21:01):
Put me on there, and I'll be one to sign
my name proudly as a lifetime Dodger fan.
Speaker 15 (21:08):
We can make things right.
Speaker 14 (21:10):
Make it the golden Seniars give them, they'll pay for
the for the extra expense.
Speaker 15 (21:16):
The Dodgers can make it right.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
So whose job is it to come up with this petition?
Speaker 5 (21:21):
Is that my job?
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Your job? Whose job is it?
Speaker 6 (21:24):
You?
Speaker 15 (21:24):
And I know, Stu. If it's your job, it'll never
get done.
Speaker 14 (21:29):
Maybe he knows who he has to spearheaded or is
never gonna get done if he takes.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Care of business, so as he needs the spearheaded, and
you will get behind it.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
That's what you're saying. You will lead on.
Speaker 15 (21:40):
This, add my name to it. That's right. I'll be
the second thing of ja behin you listen.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
If I ever get a piece of paper and I
see Carl Douglas's signature on it, I will poop my pants.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
Immediately because I'm afraid of what legal action is about
to be taken against me.
Speaker 14 (21:55):
Hey, I want to assume the Dodgers because I don't
think I'm going to to But with the fourth of
this lineup, I'm sure they're gonna do the right thing.
Speaker 6 (22:06):
Eryl Siegel, this eighty one year old, he's telling the
Dodgers he can't use the app. He doesn't have an iPhone.
If you can't take the hint, the tickets must print.
Speaker 15 (22:20):
It. Yes, I put that one up trademark by it myself.
I can't take a the tickets.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
This guy major catch phrase, Taylor, how many things do
you have trademarked?
Speaker 15 (22:35):
Not enough, dude, I'm still working every day.
Speaker 5 (22:37):
But you like Taylor suggests you got excited there, Carl,
I saw it.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
Mine isn't quite as a chantable. But if Bryson de
Shambo can make a five iron out of a three
D printer, the Dodgers can send him a sheet of tickets,
all perforated to just be ready to tear one out
when he walks out the door.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Come on, yeah.
Speaker 14 (22:55):
They can give him a little box, a golden box
with all tickets he can tear him by himself.
Speaker 15 (22:59):
Man, they can do anything with my Dodgers. They have
more money than God.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Yes, but if the pressure and the petition doesn't work,
you are ready to take legal action because it seems
like ageism. I mean it does.
Speaker 15 (23:12):
I'm not saying that's dude. God don't put word for him.
Asking you see what happens here? Okay, Okay, I don't
know the guy. I love my Dodgers.
Speaker 14 (23:21):
Yes, I don't want to do anything to mess up
this three feet so I.
Speaker 15 (23:26):
Don't want to get them upset.
Speaker 14 (23:27):
At mean, hopefully they'll do the right thing because they should.
For an eighty one year old man who's been there
for fifty fifty years, he doesn't want to sell his
tickets back to him. He wants to support the Dodgers,
and I'm behind him on yes, okay.
Speaker 7 (23:43):
But if this was the Angels, this is ages.
Speaker 15 (23:45):
Hey, I'm on their ass. I'm on their ass right now. Yes,
give me up. I'm on their ass right now.
Speaker 12 (23:54):
You should see what he would Yeah, if it was
the Yankees.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
If you in the business, if it was the Yankees, I.
Speaker 14 (24:00):
Mean, I'm on their ass, the Clippers or the Angels
or the Charges.
Speaker 6 (24:05):
Homost Carl does it help this fans case that if
you go to a Dodgers game the day of the game,
they're saying that they can't print the tickets, But if
you buy the tickets at the day of the game,
they're going to print the tickets for people.
Speaker 14 (24:20):
It's not as big an issue as they are making
it out to be. How many fifty year season ticket
holders do you have who have expressed an ability.
Speaker 15 (24:33):
To do it?
Speaker 14 (24:33):
Man, Come on, they can make an exception here. It's
not that big a deal. They just thought it was
gonna go away. It's not gonna go away. Is He's
gonna do a petition and we're coming at them. But
I'm not gonna do anybody, not the Dodgers.
Speaker 15 (24:49):
Right.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
You notice he keeps going to you.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Yeah, I'm curious too, So Carl, let me ask you
this question. Obviously warmed up calling me isy and all
this stuff. I love it, right, you're familiar. But do
you about ten years ago when the FX TV show
the I Think It's People Versus O. J. Simpson was
the name of it came out. I believe, and I
don't want to take full credit for this Made in America,
(25:11):
That's what it was called.
Speaker 5 (25:11):
Made in America the O. J. Simpson trial, Me and
George Sodana on ESPN Radio would have you on regularly.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
To basically like the fact check of what happened on
the actual show versus what real life.
Speaker 5 (25:23):
Do you remember coming on with us regularly?
Speaker 14 (25:26):
Oh? God, that was ten years ago, and I know
I went on regularly on several shows to talk about
reality and the I don't remember doing it once.
Speaker 15 (25:39):
But I don't say you're wrong.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
Dang it.
Speaker 15 (25:41):
I don't say you're wrong.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Well, he's not wrong, you just don't remember it.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
Sidano and I were so sure that we opened up
the rest of the country to having Carl Douglass on
the radio.
Speaker 5 (25:50):
Boy, you're telling me is no, we were just one
of many.
Speaker 15 (25:53):
I'm sure you remembered it, but I don't.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
That's fair. Superstar over here.
Speaker 15 (26:00):
What can I say?
Speaker 2 (26:02):
I so wish the Yankees weren't printing out his tickets.
Speaker 15 (26:07):
Really big, big problem, big problem, Carl.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
We got a big one.
Speaker 15 (26:12):
Mark was cool. Got that went there, that's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Yes, we got a big one tomorrow Northwestern women's lacrosse.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
We're taking on number one Maryland on the road. It's
a big one.
Speaker 15 (26:19):
Carl, is your daughter playing.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
Yes, well I mean barely, but yes, yes she plays.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Yeah she'll be there, Yes, yes, but it's a big one. Yeah.
We're going for our second national championship in four years.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
We love you, Thank you for doing this.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
We're going to try to get Earl Siegel on the phone,
but we can't find him.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
So if you see him at a game, tell him
we want him on.
Speaker 15 (26:45):
Okay, enough, guys, thanks having it back again. Good think
you guys.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Oh no, we will, Carl before you get out of here.
Promote that beautiful big law firm out in.
Speaker 14 (26:53):
LA for us, Douglas Hicks Law in Los Angeles.
Speaker 15 (26:59):
We're now. You know.
Speaker 14 (27:00):
There'll be a story still, guy, that I'll tell you
about in the future, and you'll be on top of it.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
All right, We'll have you on.
Speaker 5 (27:07):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
I hope you remember me ten years from now unless
you get on George.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Remember George, No, get that petition done.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
He'll remember you, right, Carl, I'm not glad.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Yes, all right, we.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Love you, buddy, Thank you so much for doing this.
Speaker 15 (27:26):
Thanks guy, Take care.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
The great Carl Douglass he is, He's always there for us.
I got a text here from EP Jason like dying.
Speaker 9 (27:37):
To know the origins of the backstory. How are you
friendly with Carl Douglas? Essentially, I just take credit for that,
is what he's asking.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
He came on, was it as who was the producer
who made the thirteen part OHJ series?
Speaker 5 (27:53):
Ezra Adelman.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
Yes, and it was twelve parts too long.
Speaker 5 (27:57):
It's the grand documentary I've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
So we started having Carl on right around then.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
He became friends of ours, friends of the show, and
we are still friendly until this day.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
He is a great man, that guy. Mikey A will
tell you.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
So we used to do.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
A football pick segment and we did it with Chris Gronkowski,
a guy named k funk Job at Chamberlain. It was
like a Who's Who.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
It was the most random.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
It's more like a Who's who?
Speaker 7 (28:25):
Who's who? Who's standing next to that guy?
Speaker 5 (28:29):
Job was the only name I recognized by the way.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
Taylor, Yes, we can never get Rob Gronkowski. So it
was always Chris or Gord and the occasionally Papa ge.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
But in the middle of.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
All this was Carl Douglass also making picks with these guys,
and he was awesome, and he was awesome, and so
we all felt very at peace because if any group
of people might need an attorney, it was that group
of people, and Carl was always there for us.
Speaker 6 (28:56):
Yes, Taylor, to pull a curtain back a little. Stu,
has Jaba been texting you recently?
Speaker 1 (29:00):
He's not happy with me.
Speaker 6 (29:02):
He's definitely not happy.
Speaker 5 (29:04):
What do you do?
Speaker 2 (29:05):
Because not happy with me?
Speaker 6 (29:06):
Just saying we put out the we put out the
show phone number for people if they want to call in,
and Joba Chamberlain quote tweeted and said, at least he's
talking to somebody because he's not answering me.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
He's not happy with me. He wow, really he's not.
And I had him on the show and I you know,
I promised him bigger things to come, and I didn't
deliver on that promise. And that's why Carl Douglas asked,
is he to come up with the petition?
Speaker 4 (29:33):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
Live Wheakday said three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. That is eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. You can call in
about anything. I love Carl Douglas. I really do it's
a good man, Mikey, what a great question. What if
it were the Angels? Yeah, very exciting news for Taylor.
(30:05):
Salakata gonna be filling in tomorrow on the show.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
I will be off. We have a big game we're
taking on Maryland. I just called those Wei.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
I haven't done anything for that team, Salakota, my man? Yes?
Uh is he?
Speaker 5 (30:17):
You're gonna be here now? I got a thing. I'm sorry.
I love you, Bud.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Do you think Taylor is more excited for that show
than this show?
Speaker 6 (30:25):
But absolutely?
Speaker 5 (30:26):
Oh, he's bringing out the big guns tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
Yeah, Taylor, are.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
You going to be here?
Speaker 6 (30:31):
I will be here.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Yeah, you wouldn't miss it.
Speaker 6 (30:33):
The best ability is availability, and one thing that these
Fox executives can count on, yeap is my availability as
you being here.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Mike, Yeah, you gotta be here.
Speaker 12 (30:42):
Yeah, I'll be here.
Speaker 7 (30:43):
But the best abilities availability?
Speaker 13 (30:45):
Is that why you're getting paid more than Stu goott Sir,
I think the best ability is count.
Speaker 6 (30:54):
Second best. I guess yeah.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
Did you hear that fake Italian accent?
Speaker 12 (30:59):
Taylor?
Speaker 5 (31:00):
There's a loaded talent.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
I'm excited to have sal phil in. He's been a
big part of our podcast over the last couple of months.
He's very good at the doing of radio. You'll get
a more traditional sports radio show.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Than you certainly get here. But anyone could provide that.
Speaker 5 (31:14):
That's the really reason I'm not going to be here.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
I don't want to get too comfortable doing a professional
radio show and then have to come back to you
and then just get I'm mad at you.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
So, yeah, kip it. He's tight with Frances. Is he
having Frances on? We should try to make that happen, fran.
Speaker 6 (31:27):
I don't think so, but we're prepared to talk heavy
Yankees Mets tomorrow. I sent him an early topic. I
think a mad Rasario earned his pin stripes last night?
Speaker 1 (31:35):
Is that? Yeah? What did he do to earn the
pin stripes last night?
Speaker 6 (31:40):
So he had a home run early and then he
hit a three run home run to win the game
for the Yankees in the bottom of the eighth.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
You're right, he earned the stripes.
Speaker 5 (31:50):
Was he playing without stripes before that? Was it just
a white uniform?
Speaker 6 (31:53):
No, so you're wearing the normal traditional uniform. But again,
this is something like you guys just have too simple
of mind to understand with your baseball team. Of course,
the Yankees. You got to earn your pin stripes, and
last night he earned his.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
Is there a player who never earned their pin stripes?
Speaker 6 (32:09):
There's There'sblcoby Elsbury.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
He didn't earn them. No, is there someone who earned
their stripes and then had to give him back? I
mean any of that?
Speaker 6 (32:19):
No, No, once. Once you're in here.
Speaker 7 (32:21):
You get him.
Speaker 5 (32:22):
You're in right lit the Milanos X.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Is there anyone who earned more pinstripes than anyone else?
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Meaning? Does Babe Ruth have the most pinstripes?
Speaker 6 (32:31):
I think Jeter leads the team in pin stripes.
Speaker 5 (32:33):
He's got a closet full of pinstripes.
Speaker 7 (32:35):
Well, technically I think Ceci's a bath. He had the
most pin stripes.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
That's a size joke right there. Yes, he lost weight.
Speaker 7 (32:43):
That was a joke he made.
Speaker 17 (32:44):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
Wait, board at Ricardo, why did you have like you?
Nearly threw up when Taylor said that about Jeter? What
was going on there?
Speaker 5 (32:52):
As a Marlins fan, I don't have the greatest relationship
with dark Jeter at the enemy.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
Well, you have no relationship with Jeter? Right?
Speaker 2 (33:03):
He didn't earn his his Marlin stripes down here right?
Speaker 16 (33:06):
No?
Speaker 2 (33:06):
Yeah, Marlins have stripes. No, yeah, well we used to
when we had the good uniforms.
Speaker 7 (33:14):
To get you to buy new ones.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
Okay, I am told that Jason has a question about Salakata.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
What's going on?
Speaker 1 (33:20):
Jason?
Speaker 11 (33:20):
Hey, guys, it sounds like Taylor's got the content for
tomorrow Mets and Yankees.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
Right, He's got the content.
Speaker 11 (33:27):
I have a question for Taylor, though, How Sal doing
on like the p's and q's, getting ins and outs
of the breaks and reading mentions and and just the
kind of network language. How up to speed is he
on that Stewart? Are you gonna do kind of a
tutorial with him before he gets on the air.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
No, I think once you guys have experienced how good
Sally is at the doing of radio, you'll never want
to see me again.
Speaker 6 (33:48):
You might get tomorrow, Yeah, you might.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
I put him there, listen. I don't care. Sal can
come do the show every day as long as I
get paid.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
Wait till he reads that first weeble app and see
how happy he is doing this.
Speaker 6 (34:00):
You Wally Pip is such a great reference.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Really, I'm trying the wally pit myself.
Speaker 6 (34:10):
I hope it co swimmingly.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
I'll be watching Masters.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Oh god, that's why you need to do yes, I
am told Mike, Ea, uh, well you told me that
you did a very Stegatzian thing, so uh what is
it that you did? And welcome to the club.
Speaker 13 (34:27):
I did so Basically, our town baseball starts this weekend
and one of the fields is an awful condition. So
I went to the I went to the parents. I
was like, hey, guys, have you seen the field? And
they're like, Mike, you need to you need to say something.
You need to send an email, do something.
Speaker 5 (34:43):
You're like the powerful person in the community.
Speaker 12 (34:45):
Yeah, exactly. I sent.
Speaker 13 (34:50):
I sent an email to like the town parks and
rec and they called me and they're like, hey, just
so you know, like we were never using that field,
like it was just a placeholder.
Speaker 12 (34:59):
So they could send schedule out.
Speaker 7 (35:00):
We're moving you guys all to the good field.
Speaker 13 (35:03):
And so they sent out a note saying, by the way,
all your games have been moved to the good field.
Speaker 12 (35:08):
And I said, and they went, Mike, you did it.
Good job. I was like, you're welcome.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Well, everybody, you're welcome, and you're welcome.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Yes.
Speaker 12 (35:17):
Yeah, yeah, So I just took all the credit.
Speaker 5 (35:19):
They all think I s's a great movie.
Speaker 12 (35:21):
It's some big thing. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Yeah, well I showed you the way thing happened. How
do you feel today?
Speaker 13 (35:25):
I mean, strangely accomplished, even though again I did nothing.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Yeah, but you did something right.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
It's a slippery slope there, because now if there's any
problem within a five mile radius of you, guys, they're
gotta be like, Mikey, can you get on this place?
Speaker 5 (35:39):
We have issues?
Speaker 6 (35:40):
Yeah, I took that's Mikey one. The next time an
issue comes up, nobody's gonna turn to you and be like, hey,
we need you to get this done. They're gonna be like,
whoa Mikey handled the next one? Who's the next pairent
in line? Now Mikey goes from the top of the
line to Now the clock resets and now he's all
the way at the bottom.
Speaker 13 (36:00):
Even better, Hey, guys, I could do this for you,
but if you lead a.
Speaker 12 (36:04):
Horse to water.
Speaker 13 (36:05):
Kind of thing, So why don't you, guys, I'll I'll
teach you to do it yourself.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
Yeah, they're gonna continue to come to you because you
have a microphone. I'm telling you right now, and so
they'll give the appearance that they have asked somebody else.
And somebody else and someone else, And it's always going
to come back to you. As he is right about this.
You did this to yourself. You said the bar too hot.
You did Now every town problem is your problem to fix.
I mean, how about that next.
Speaker 12 (36:27):
Time when that happens. By the way, I gotta get
paid too.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
Sal will pay you tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
Just live in the glory for a while, because the
next time they ask you to do them a favor,
you're gonna have to say, yeah, I lied, I didn't
do anything the last time. It just happened by accident.
Speaker 6 (36:44):
My pay this month could be just me being able
to get off my Camp Schlitzler takes tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Without anyone interrupted. Yes, it's gonna.
Speaker 5 (36:51):
Be so many done with Cam Schlittler.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
Why don't you do me a favor, do the audience
a favor and tell everyone how great Paul Skeens was
last night's I think you had a.
Speaker 6 (36:59):
No or going into the sixty.
Speaker 5 (37:03):
The guy you wouldn't trade four straight up Camp Schlittler.
Speaker 6 (37:09):
So yesterday it was funny how it worked out because
Schlitzler and Skeens were on the same day, and Schlitzler
gets through two innings flawlessly, and I'm like, yes, this
take is aging perfectly. Then the third inning he ran
into some trouble and the A's got to him, and
I was like, man, I'm looking over here right now
and Skeens is absolutely dealing.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
I like the idea of people at home just taking
notes like this Taylor take is not aging.
Speaker 5 (37:34):
Well, this schlittler guy not so good.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
Is he?
Speaker 2 (37:38):
Can you call into us aal show tomorrow, just you know, just.
Speaker 5 (37:41):
Little guests update on their petition.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
Yeah, listen, Taylor, tell me how it's going.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
