Speaker 4 (00:21):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
One of the biggest stars in the NFL, running back
for the Falcons, Bijan Robinson is with us. He has
partnered with Colgate Total to highlight the Colgate Total Active
Prevention Whitening Toothpaste and Toothbrush.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Tell us about it.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
I want to ask you some questions about brushing your teeth,
the keys to a good brush. But tell us what
you're doing with Colgate, Bijan.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
Yeah, well, first is going to be on here with
you guys, man.

Speaker 6 (00:48):
But yeah, just with the partnership, it's been an amazing
partnership with Colgate. And for me, it's very important to
prevent health problems before they start on the field. And
I take a lot of pride in it to go
out there and play at my optimal level. So it's
the same thing with the Colgate Total Active Prevention and
making sure that I prevent those oral health problems before

(01:10):
they start as well.

Speaker 5 (01:11):
So something that I love... to just be a part of,
but I want everybody to be a part of with
me as well.

Speaker 6 (01:18):
And, you know, it's, it's something that is important from
day to day life and from just everyday health. And,
you know, I want people to go buy it on
online and in stores so they can, you know, just,
just make sure that when they smile, you know, it's,
it gives you their best look. Um, and it just
makes me feel good as a, as a person. So it's, uh,
it's been, it's been fun.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
What are the keys to a great brushing of the teeth? Like, like,
do you go soft?

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Do you go hard? I'm a very aggressive brusher. How
about you?

Speaker 5 (01:46):
You know, it just depends. If I'm trying to get
something out, you've.

Speaker 6 (01:50):
Got to be a little aggressive. But typically I'm more
of like soft, you know, just I'll be chilling, you know, brushing.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Do you go with mouthwash after or before?

Speaker 2 (02:04):
I have a friend who does mouthwash before he brushes
his teeth.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
It's weird.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Yes, weird.

Speaker 7 (02:09):
Yes.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
I don't think I've ever heard of that. I'll go after. Right.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
He's a weird friend.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
He's a Jets fan, so that should explain it. Texas-Ohio
State's coming up this weekend, but you have the NFL
also coming up this weekend. How do you navigate that?
Because I know you're still interested. I know you want
to see that game, but you yourself also have a game.
So how are you going to navigate the Ohio State-Texas

(02:36):
game coming up this weekend?

Speaker 6 (02:38):
Yeah, well, good thing is that it's at 730. So
that makes it easy.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
So that's like.

Speaker 6 (02:44):
right after, you know, probably a meeting or something that
we have. But I'm definitely tuned in. I know all
the guys are going to be tuned in. I know
everybody's watching that game. But I'm excited for it. I'm
excited for it. I know it's going to be a
big one. And I know we're going to win this game.
We have to. You know, we lost last year. So,
I think we have to go in there prepared. And
it's at Texas, too. So, I mean, you know, I'm

(03:06):
excited for it. But then, obviously, our game's the next day. So,
I want them to put a great product out. So,
you know, we can go put one out next day.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Your team, the Falcons, is such a talented team in
a division where really any team could win that division.
Do you look around your locker room and you're like, man,
we're as talented as any team in the NFL because
you are, Bishan.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
Yeah. Yeah, I mean, that's what we take pride in, man.

Speaker 6 (03:29):
Like, we understand who we have on this team and
we understand how we prepare and how we work.

Speaker 5 (03:34):
So now it's us, like, not just saying it, but
we have to go out there and do it.

Speaker 6 (03:38):
We have to go out there and, you know, take
accountability and execute at a very high level and do
it together. That's the biggest thing, man. I feel like
we've gotten very close as a team this offseason with
the new regime. And I think it's going to be
pretty special when we go out there and maximize every

(03:59):
opportunity that we have on.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
The offense, on the defense, special teams.

Speaker 6 (04:02):
But now it's just us going out there and just
providing the project on the field and not talking about
it but just go out there just.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Do it bijan our show is based in south florida
and a lot of people down here are interested to
see what tua does in atlanta he was named the
the falcons starting quarterback for this game against the steelers
what have you seen from from tua in the preseason
and training.

Speaker 6 (04:24):
Camp yeah i mean his experience is uh it's fun
to watch man like you know you can tell he's
had a lot of experience in this league, but the
talent obviously is there.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
He has the talent, but it's more of the mentality
of what he has and who he is as a
person and what he brings to the offense.

Speaker 6 (04:45):
I think just with him, our job is to make.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
Him look good.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
Every chance that we got, if he gets the ball
in our hands, when he gets the ball in our hands,
it's our job to you know, break those tackles and
get the end zone.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
But I think with him, like he has, you know,
amazing talent.

Speaker 6 (05:05):
And, you know, I know that we're building his confidence
every single day.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
He has confidence in us. So that's, that's been the
biggest thing this off season.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Vijon growing up.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Well, who are some of the running backs you kind
of patterned your game after where there's some running.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Backs that you looked at and you're like, man, I
want to do some of what he does.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
Yeah, I mean, there's been a lot. I watched a
lot of highlights. I watched a lot of the games
on YouTube, like Barry Sanders, Marshall Falk. Yes. The older guys. Right.

Speaker 6 (05:32):
And then even like more of this in the 2010 generation,
like with Adrian Peterson and.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
Even guys now, Christian McCaffrey.

Speaker 6 (05:41):
I know I train with him, but just seeing his
game and taking a lot from his game has been.

Speaker 5 (05:45):
Fun to do.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
But there's a lot of great backs out there. in
the history of this game, but it's cool to see
like how the position is continuing to grow.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Now and what we're trying to do with it in
this day and age.

Speaker 8 (06:02):
John, you not only have a new quarterback in Atlanta,
but you also have a new head coach, Kevin Stefanski.
We know he likes to run the ball. How much
has he told you about how much you can expect
to see the football this season?

Speaker 6 (06:13):
I mean, he hasn't got to tell me nothing.

Speaker 5 (06:15):
You want it.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
You want the ball. Yes.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
That's the product of who he's had, who he's coached.
He's coached AP. He was there when A.J. Peterson won
the MVP. So, like, He knows the importance of how
important it is to have a great run game, not
just in Atlanta, but just in general, because that opens

(06:39):
up everything for your offense, but then that just brings
so much energy to the team, so much juice to
the team, and it's just fun making those plays happen.
But yeah, he hasn't had to say too much. That's
just going out there and just doing it.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
Bijan is one of the best running backs in the NFL.
I was hoping you could help me with the power
ranking here.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
Spin, truck, hurdle, juke. How would you power rate those four?

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Wow. Let's hear them again real quick, okay? I like
this question. Go ahead.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Spin, truck, hurdle, juke. So basically your four moves you
could do in Madden.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
I'm going to say juke is number one.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Right.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
I think that's the most effective. And then trucking is
number two. Yes. Trucking somebody is demoralizing for them. Right.
And then spinning... You know, that's an elite move when
you do it right.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Right. It's desperate measures if you're spitting, right?

Speaker 5 (07:33):
I mean– Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
No doubt about it. Right. Setting people up, which is great.

Speaker 6 (07:38):
And then the hurdle, like, if you hurdle at the
right time, obviously for me, like– If you hurdle somebody
right and just jump over somebody clean, then that's probably
going to be the last.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
One for me. Right.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
So juking is ahead of trucking because I figured someone
like you, you're a powerful running back, you're a great athlete,
but I just figured trucking someone might be the best
feeling for you, even better than scoring a touchdown.

Speaker 6 (08:01):
I know, but making somebody miss, making somebody look dumb is.

Speaker 5 (08:07):
That can really bring somebody out there. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
Because that's all I think about is that right there.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
So I think that has to be first.

Speaker 8 (08:16):
Have you ever taken somebody out of their game? Have
you ever just looked at a defender and just went,
his game is over?

Speaker 6 (08:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
I just took him out. Absolutely. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Really?

Speaker 5 (08:26):
It shows in their eyes. It shows in their body
language that they just don't want to be there that week.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Right.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Which is okay.

Speaker 5 (08:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Do you remember the defender that you did it to?

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Like, is there one that stands out for you where
you just looked in his eyes and you're like, man,
I trucked him.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
It's been a lot.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
It's been a lot. I wouldn't name names. But it's definitely.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Been a lot. It's a great stat, trucking stats.

Speaker 6 (08:53):
It is.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
All right, man, we appreciate this. Good luck to you.
I'm excited to watch.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
You play this season. I think you're just going to
be a lot of fun. One more time here on
the way out. Tell us what you're doing with Colgate.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
It's great.

Speaker 6 (09:05):
Yeah, man, it's just continuing, like, with the partnership and
with the Colgate. So, like I mentioned, like, make sure
everybody gets it and preventing those oral health problems before
they start and make sure that you're always just making
sure your teeth are.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
Healthy and, you know, not just looking good, but that
they're healthy.

Speaker 6 (09:22):
And that they just provide the best for your body,
for yourself, for your family, and just everybody that sees you.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
So, it's good, man.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
You're such a good endorser for them. You have such
a great smile. You really do.

Speaker 5 (09:32):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
Yes, sir.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
All right.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Just not when you're playing football and trucking someone, all right?
Just stare in their eyes and just remind them, I've
ended your day today. B.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
John, thank you.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
You still smile at them. Right.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
You have to smile at them. It hurts even more
when you smile at them. Yeah, Mikey. That's right.

Speaker 5 (09:50):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Give me your final score, Ohio State, Texas.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Final score.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
Prediction. I'm going to say 28-21.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
All right.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Listen, I know you won a lot of carries, but,
you know, just be careful.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Like, when you get to 500, like Ricky Williams did
that one year, former Texas guy, with Dave Watson, just
tell the coach enough, okay?

Speaker 6 (10:06):
He knows.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
That's wild. That's wild. Yes, sir. Yes, sir.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Two years in a row, I believe. Anyway, Bijan, good
luck to you, and good luck this season. Good luck
to Texas. over the weekend, man. We appreciate your time, sir.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
Yes.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
Yeah, I appreciate you guys, man. Good talking to you guys.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gatz and
Company live weekdays at 3 p.m. Eastern, 12 p.m.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Pacific.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Our thanks to Bijan Robinson for joining us. Justin Jefferson
going to join us in a few minutes here. We'll
get to Dan Beyer in the sports update as well.
The NFL kicks off tonight. Who do you guys like
in tonight's game? FanDuel has the line set, and we'll
get to what's going on with Baker Mayfield here in
just a second. FanDuel has the line set at 3.5. Seattle,
minus 3.5, taking on the Patriots tonight.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Uh, Taylor is a Patriot fan, uh, simply because, well,
what do you, what do you mean?

Speaker 3 (10:57):
I'm not a Patriot fan. I'm a Matt Collins fan.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
Well, I was going to say that.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
He's not a Patriot fan.

Speaker 5 (11:02):
Not after what he said earlier today.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
I know, but I was going to explain that he,
his friends, best friends with Matt Collins. And so wherever
Matt goes, Taylor becomes a fan of that team. That's
all I was going to say.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
My only qualifier that I, Like, I don't like people
associating me with the Patriots because I don't really associate
myself with the Patriots.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 5 (11:23):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
Hold on a second. What is that symbol right in
the middle of your shirt?

Speaker 3 (11:27):
Well, this has caused the whole problem today because I'm
walking into the studio in Miami and it's like... Walking
in with a target on my back and everybody's like, oh,
boo the Patriots, boo the Patriots. I'm like, I'm stopping
to everybody I'm walking past going, I don't really care
about the Patriots. I'm just wearing the shirt. My best
friend's on the Patriots. And now they feel bad for
booing me when I walked in there saying, let's go Dolphins.

(11:50):
And I'm like, Dolphins, Dolphins, you guys are about as
irrelevant as it gets it.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Why do you feel the need to explain yourself to
those bunch of losers? And those bunch of losers are
Dolphin fans.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Who cares?

Speaker 5 (12:02):
And Jet fans.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Right. And Jet fans. So what?

Speaker 3 (12:05):
I'm walking through the hallways and I'm getting booed. You
think I like getting booed in the hallway? Who was
booing you, Ricardo?

Speaker 2 (12:10):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
I have to get names of who booed me. I'm
going to write a list down of everybody who booed me.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
How many people? Seriously.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
At least four.

Speaker 6 (12:18):
What?

Speaker 5 (12:19):
What?

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Four more than i would.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Have liked okay uh you should just replace it with
mac holland's.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Face jerseys are too expensive nowadays i was considering getting
a mac holland shirt right i went to nfl shop
and you have to customize the jersey because they're not
just selling mac holland jerseys it's the aj brown it's
the drake mays i go to the nfl shop it's
like 175 and the material is terrible That's another thing.
Fanatics has completely ruined the Jersey game.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Jesus Christ.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Just know that when Taylor's trotting around town in South
Florida wearing a page or anywhere for that matter. wearing
a Patriot shirt. He is not a Patriot fan. He
is just a Mac Collins fan. The Patriots logo is
a symbol of his friendship for Mac Collins and his
dedication and loyalty to his friend, Mac Collins. If Mac
Collins was playing for the jets, he'd be wearing a
jet shirt.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Unfortunately.

Speaker 8 (13:09):
I don't like associating with the Patriots is wearing a
Patriot shirt.

Speaker 5 (13:13):
I'm just right.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
So anyway, FanDuel three and a half right now. The
Seahawks are favored. This is a Super Bowl rematch, of course.
Who do we like here tonight? Because I'm thinking Seahawks
for me.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
I like the Patriots plus three and a half just
because the Seahawks have so much that they're replacing. Kenneth Walker,
Reek Wolling, Kobe Bryant, Boy Mafe off the edge. And
when you're looking at what they brought in, yeah, they
brought in a nice running back from Notre Dame with
a first-round.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
Pick, but.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
You look at the Patriots moves, and it feels like
the Patriots moves were more intentional, bringing in Ver Tucker
to help kind of shore off their offensive line. Romeo
Dobbs and A.J.

Speaker 5 (13:51):
Brown.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
This Patriot team is a lot better than the team
that they played in the Super Bowl, and I think
it's going to take a while for the Seahawks team
to kind of get up to speed.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
They get a banner raised tonight. What are you thinking, Mikey?

Speaker 5 (14:04):
Early in the season, defense is always ahead of offense.

Speaker 8 (14:07):
And I think with the defensive mind that the Seahawks
have and the talent they have on the defense, I
think the Seahawks are going to win this game handily.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Handily.

Speaker 6 (14:17):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
All right. Wow.

Speaker 5 (14:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
It made you rethink your stance here, Taylor.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Well, now I'm switching.

Speaker 6 (14:23):
No.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
Originally, I said Patriots plus three and a half. And
now I'm switching it to Patriots win this game.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
Moneyline.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
Comfortably.

Speaker 5 (14:31):
Moneyline.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Oh, really?

Speaker 3 (14:33):
I see your handedly and I raise it to comfortably.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
You're fading my key, huh?

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Someone's got to give.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
One of you has got to be right.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
So Baker Mayfield, he had a two-year $ 100 million offer.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
That wasn't enough. He was upset.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
And now the Bucs have come through for Baker Mayfield.
It is now a three-year, $ 165 million contract. They've agreed
to that. So they tacked on a year. They tacked
on $ 65 million. And they made Baker Mayfield feel good
about what he's done in Tampa Bay. I worry, though,
because you have taken the chip off of Baker Mayfield's shoulder.

(15:13):
Perhaps he'll find another one. I'm certain that he will.
Maybe he wanted 170 instead of.

Speaker 5 (15:19):
What it is.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
That he actually agreed to.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
But Baker Mayfield, who has been great and who has
earned and deserves this contract, he gets three years, 165.
But I don't like Baker without having some sort of
chip on his shoulder.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
So when you see that Baker Mayfield is getting $ 55
million per year, I think we just got our answer
to how much money it would take to put up
with Todd Bowles being your head coach. $ 55 million a year.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
That's it. They can go 8-9, 9-8, and they probably will.
And Bowles will be right back there next year.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
This goes back to the point, though, that Chris Sims
makes with us. Yes, this is now the new market
when it comes for quarterbacking, but it's hard to justify
paying Baker Mayfield $ 55 million a year where you're seeing
a team like the Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes struggling to
put talent around him because of what you're paying these

(16:11):
top-level quarterbacks. And I think this is now why you're seeing—
teams like the seahawks winning with sam darnold where they're
paying him like 33 million dollars and then if it
ever gets to the point where you have to pay
sam darnold that that upper echelon quarterback money goodbye and
we'll find our next quarterback we'll reset the cycle this
just feels like the bucks kind of giving into the

(16:33):
demands of okay we'll pay a good quarterback but not
an elite quarterback this money But.

Speaker 8 (16:39):
This is also why there's so much pressure on rookie
quarterbacks coming out of college to start and be good
right away. Because everybody wants to win while they're in
that small window where we're not paying you record setting
market resetting money. We're paying all the other guys around
you and you have to be good enough. That's why
I think you're seeing so many quarterbacks come in, get

(17:01):
thrown into the fire and flame out.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Except Mendoza.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
Set Mendoza yet.

Speaker 6 (17:07):
Right.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
They're going Kirk Cousins. No, it's a fair point.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
You have that two- or three-year window where if the quarterback,
Bo Nix, is in it right now, right, with the Broncos,
he's kind of in it right now. Here are the
quarterbacks that are paid more on average than Baker Mayfield.
Mahomes at $ 63. 1 million.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
Deserved.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
More. He deserves more. Dak Prescott at $ 60 million.

Speaker 5 (17:33):
Dak. Dak.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
That's a tough one.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Josh Allen at $ 55 million. Joe Burrow at $ 55 million.
Matthew Stafford, Baker Mayfield, Trevor Lawrence, Jordan Love, all at
$ 55 million annually. Below that, this is important, below Baker,
Jared Goff, Brock Purdy. I feel like Baker's kind of
slotted in correctly. I really do. I think Baker's better

(17:58):
than Jared Goff. No, he's for sure slotted in correctly.
My argument would just be, you are better off in
this next quarterback draft, taking a chance on one of
those guys, whether it's a Dante Moore, an Arch Manning,
even if your pick isn't, you know, the best pick
reaching on somebody like Trinidad Chambliss from Ole Miss. Then

(18:18):
committing this kind of financial commitment to Baker Mayfield when
you're the Tampa Bay Bucs and Baker Mayfield really isn't
doing much to help elevate you to be a Super
Bowl contender when now you have to pay him this
kind of money and you still have so many more
holes on your roster. They've made the playoffs in two
of his three seasons, I believe. But once they get there,
they do nothing. So you're saying to pay a guy

(18:40):
$ 55 million. Mikey, they've made the playoffs two out of
the last three years.

Speaker 8 (18:44):
And I'm pretty sure they beat the Eagles one year
when the Eagles were a juggernaut. So to say they've
done nothing is really saying they haven't gone to the
championship game.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
I'm just saying for $ 55 million, when you're paying a
quarterback $ 55 million, you'd like.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
To be a Super Bowl contender.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
I don't think anyone views the Bucs as a playoff team, yes.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Win a game in the playoffs, yes. Win three games
and go to the Super Bowl, no.

Speaker 5 (19:10):
Todd Bowles is my response.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
At that point, if this Bucs team wins a Super
Bowl with Baker Mayfield, they would have had to exceed expectations,
you know, 10 times over.

Speaker 5 (19:23):
Right.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
Yes, that's what I'm saying. And so Taylor's asking a
very good question.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Is it worth paying that guy $ 55 million a year
when you could be bad and just get a rookie
quarterback on a rookie contract?

Speaker 5 (19:36):
Ask a Jets fan.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
Ask a Browns fan.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
The answer was yes for the Jets. Their quarterback just
became great in Seattle. Which one?

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Let's go to Dan. Beyer for a sports update. Very
excited for this. Justin Jefferson is with us. He is
here with us on behalf of Pepsi for tailgating deserved Pepsi,
and they are giving away free 12 packs of Pepsi
Zero Sugar for NFL King Golf Weekend.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Justin's making that sound. What are you doing with Pepsi?
Talk about it. Promote it, my man.

Speaker 7 (20:10):
Yeah you know you you heard it you heard it
yourself you said it yourself uh just you know first
of all working with pepsi and building that relationship and
building that uh partnership has uh been great and uh
it's continued to be better and better every single year
uh so definitely proud to be uh on the roster
and be a partnership with them uh but just like

(20:32):
you said uh pepsi has given away The 12-pack on
game days for the free Pepsi Zeros.

Speaker 9 (20:39):
I definitely feel like fans and fans of tailgates definitely
should be happy about this one. Getting the extra Pepsis
and being able to add a little flavor to the
game day.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
Food, snacks, it's definitely a must.

Speaker 9 (20:54):
So definitely go out and go get your Pepsis because
a free 12-pack on game day, it's a must.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Put us there on your game day, LSU's game day.
What were you doing? What was going through your mind,
your head? What were you thinking as Lane Kiffin was
just laying one on Clemson?

Speaker 9 (21:12):
It definitely was a big time W.

Speaker 5 (21:16):
You know, everybody was.

Speaker 9 (21:17):
you know skeptical of how how the team was going
to look how it was going to go uh lane
being lane uh you know it definitely was cool to
see though it was definitely electric uh in death valley
as you know everybody would would know it to be
uh but uh just for them to you know put
up 50 points on clemson is definitely difficult to do

(21:39):
on the first game of the season so i was
happy to see that Justin, I.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
Was at the game, and my biggest takeaway, Clemson can't
call their stadium Death Valley anymore, right?

Speaker 2 (21:47):
Yep, they can't.

Speaker 9 (21:48):
No more.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
No more.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
They can't. They can't do it.

Speaker 9 (21:53):
They stole our whole flow. They the Tigers. They Death Valley.
I definitely feel like they need to go ahead and
change that because we the real Death Valley. They was
having trouble in there. They couldn't handle the crowd noise. So,
I mean, we the real Death Valley.

Speaker 5 (22:10):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Taylor says that if you squint, you have to squint,
and you look at Sam Leavitt, he looks like Joe Burrow.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Do you agree or disagree?

Speaker 9 (22:18):
The way he was running out there, he definitely had
a little image of him, for sure.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
And the way he, like, bounced into the end zone, too.
It was like a little swag on him, too.

Speaker 5 (22:30):
Nah, he was balling.

Speaker 9 (22:31):
I was impressed. I was impressed on the throws. I
was impressed on the runs that he was taking. I mean,
he looked comfortable back there. He looked like he was really,
you know, comfortable and being able to, you know, just
play his game.

Speaker 5 (22:44):
So....

Speaker 9 (22:46):
People are saying they're the ones to look after in
the national championship. So we're going to keep an eye
out on that one and see if they continue to
do great things.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
But you love having a coach like that who puts
the target on himself.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
It's like Coach O, right?

Speaker 1 (22:59):
You haven't had a coach like this since Coach O
where the target's on him.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
It's not on the players, right?

Speaker 5 (23:04):
Oh, for sure. For sure.

Speaker 9 (23:05):
You know, and then, you know, with the NFL players,
speculations and all of that going on before the games,
you know, he's not really worried about that. And even
during the game, he was like, what if we had
the players and, you know, being able to put up
all of these points? What do we do with those
players on the team? So he doesn't really care about
all the extra noise and the attention. He just strives

(23:27):
with it. He used it as motivation. He used it as,
you know, just an extra boost and an extra spark. So,
I mean, I like it. I like his energy. I
like his enthusiasm. As long as you win it, that's
all that matters.

Speaker 5 (23:41):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
Me and the guys were marveling, Justin, because you're one
of the best wide receivers I've ever seen. You're one
of the best wide receivers anyone's ever seen. You're one
of the best wide receivers the NFL has ever seen.
How are you the 308th ranked wide receiver coming out
of high school?

Speaker 2 (23:55):
I know you know that. How? How?

Speaker 5 (23:58):
Yeah, that's a great question.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (24:01):
I'm not sure. I'm not sure why or how.

Speaker 9 (24:04):
But I kind of, I'm kind of grateful for it,
you know, just because, you know, they were, the rankings
really allowed me to really use that as motivation. It
allowed me to, you know, have a chip on my
shoulder and really, you know, grind in a different way,
you know, use that as, you know, seeing the five stars,

(24:26):
four stars come in and being on a pedestal, you know,
I wanted to outshine those guys. I wanted to you know,
earn that spot. And I wanted to, you know, be
the best receiver on the team and the country, you know,
in the league, you know, those are all things that
I wanted to accomplish. So it was just really the
work ethic and the hard work that I put in

(24:46):
every single day to, you know, achieve what.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
I'm doing now.

Speaker 9 (24:49):
And still to this day, still not getting the recognition
and being the number one receiver. So still to this day,
still trying to prove myself. The motivation is still there.
The hard work and, you know, all of that stuff
is still there. So I'm excited for this season, excited to,
you know, show the world that I'm still number one.

Speaker 8 (25:11):
Justin, we're going to get to this season in a second.
And to our show, you are the number one wide receiver.
To me and my son, you're the number one wide receiver.
But I have one request. We've got to stop with
the gritty, and it's because I'm sick of seeing my 9-
and 10-year-old all his friends trying to.

Speaker 5 (25:27):
Do it, man. Like, we've got to stop it because.

Speaker 8 (25:29):
I can't look at it anymore.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
He ain't stopping, man. Get out of here.

Speaker 5 (25:34):
Hey, I can't give you no promises, man.

Speaker 9 (25:38):
I'm just saying, man, once we get there Sunday and
a couple more days in front of our fans, they're
going to be expecting the Gritty to pop out first touchdown.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
I know. And I didn't hit it last year. I
only hit it one time last year.

Speaker 9 (25:51):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (25:57):
I'm sorry, but they're.

Speaker 9 (25:57):
Going to be gritty in the house Sunday afternoon.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
This is a tricky question. I don't mean to put
you in a bad spot.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
I'm just wondering, Kyler Murray, is he the most talented
quarterback you've played.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
With in the NFL?

Speaker 5 (26:11):
Oh, yeah, for sure. Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 6 (26:13):
I mean, just.

Speaker 9 (26:14):
Just his arm talent, being able to throw it, you know,
the different throws that he has made that I have
seen has been tremendous and really cool to see and
really a shocker. You know, I've always known him as
a great athlete. Obviously, he played baseball and, you know,
he definitely could have strived in that as well. So,

(26:35):
you know, but seeing his arm talent in person, everybody
knows what he does with the ball in his hands,
running the ball and extending it.

Speaker 5 (26:43):
Extending the play.

Speaker 9 (26:44):
But, you know, actually seeing him stand in the pocket
and making these throws, it was really, you know, very
surprising and very cool and exciting to see. So I'm
excited for him to, you know, showcase that with this
new offense, with the weapons that he have around him.
So it's, you know, it's going to be a joy

(27:06):
to see.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
If there's an LSU fan or a player or just
someone in the media who says, hey, this LSU team
after one game is better than the team that won
the national championship with Coach.

Speaker 5 (27:16):
No way.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
No way. Right.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
They can't say that. No one should say that.

Speaker 5 (27:20):
Right. No way.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
It's absurd.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
No way. Yes.

Speaker 9 (27:23):
We would have put up 70 on that team. We
would have put up 80.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
That's no brainer. I mean, they didn't. They're a good team.

Speaker 9 (27:36):
They're definitely a good team and definitely somebody that people
need to watch out for. But nah, nobody's messing with
the team that we had.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
Maybe those Miami teams. Just maybe. Like Ed Reed, those guys.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
Maybe? Just maybe.

Speaker 9 (27:54):
They had some guys on there. That's the only team
that you can argue with.

Speaker 5 (28:01):
But at the end of the day, It's a conversation.

Speaker 9 (28:04):
You know, that's something that can never be proven, never
can be matched up with, you know, with this AI.

Speaker 5 (28:11):
You know, who knows?

Speaker 3 (28:12):
With AI, we can try.

Speaker 9 (28:14):
To see a version of what it would be like.
But other than that, I mean, it's just opinions and conversation. But,
you know, two of the greatest teams, Miami and us,
I mean, other than that, nobody's messing with us, man.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
Agreed.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
One more time, we appreciate you doing this, man. You're great.
Thank you for the time. Appreciate that. Let's promote Pepsi
one more time here on the way out. What are
you doing? No, of course.

Speaker 5 (28:39):
The tailgate.

Speaker 9 (28:41):
You definitely got to get your Pepsis with your burgers,
your hot dogs, your chips with salsa. You got to
have the Pepsi on the side to go with it.
So I appreciate you all the time. Appreciate Pepsi and
the partnership.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
All love. All right, man.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
You're great. Good luck to you this season, and good
luck to LSU, too.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Yes, sir.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
Although they don't need it. They have NFL players coming.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
All right.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
Justin, thank you so much. Good luck, man. It's a
pleasure watching.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
All right, we'll get to our game. Just me or
is it just me or is the name of the game?
Perhaps I'll say it correctly. But Mikey, a funny thing
has happened here. We had Joel Anderson from the Ringer
on yesterday. He is fantastic.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
I love him.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
I can't spend enough time with him. He is so good.
And what it is he does. Seriously.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
His knowledge is excellent. But he made a claim yesterday.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
And Taylor has not stopped texting me since he made
the claim that he invented raise the roof.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
He just won't stop. He's relentless, Taylor. And I'm not
certain if he believes Joel Anderson.

Speaker 5 (30:16):
I mean.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
So I want to go on the record and say
I believe Joel Anderson.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
You love Joel Anderson.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
I stand with Joel Anderson.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
You love the ringer.

Speaker 6 (30:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
It's just funny to think that that dance had to
originate somewhere. That celebration had to originate somewhere. And nobody
else has kind of stepped up and said, yeah, I
invented it because Joel's walking around telling everybody, no, I
invented it in Houston, Texas in the early nineties. And
nobody else is saying, you know what?

Speaker 5 (30:45):
Right.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
It's not me. And so I Googled, yes, I Googled
raise the roof origin celebration.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
1994 high school pep rally pumping the palm upward with
the elbow out is widely attributed to a 16 year
old student named Joel Anderson.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Get out of here. He was telling the truth.

Speaker 4 (31:06):
What?

Speaker 8 (31:07):
Well, cause he's widely attributing it to himself.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
Well, he claimed it. I mean, he saw an empty
lane and he said, that's mine.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
Respect.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
Why are you laughing in a way that you're covering
your mouth with your hands?

Speaker 2 (31:22):
What are you doing?

Speaker 3 (31:23):
Because I'm just reading further. Everything that he said, it
confirms it because the Houston Comets, the WNBA's team in
the late 90s got credit. But again, Joel was in
Houston where he says he originated. And then in 1997,
you got Uncle Luke in coming out with the song raise.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
The roof yes joel started a movement uh he deserves
royalties he does.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
We'll have to talk to uncle luke about.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
That get him on the show with joel anderson we
should do that it'd be fun uh let's get to
uh is it just me or uh the nfl kicks
off tonight i wanted to talk tennis the entire afternoon
the guys.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Haven't left and i won't well i might.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
You might not have a choice here.

Speaker 5 (32:10):
It could be your just me or.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
Look at you. Look at me and you. Back and forth,
a little rally. How about it? How about that? It's
been a day. Who's kicking off the proceedings here? Taylor,
you want to go first?

Speaker 3 (32:25):
Yep, I'll go first.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
All right.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
Is it just me or when a team does a giveaway,
a promotional night, It shouldn't be for a select group
of fans there. It should be for the entire stadium
or nobody. I go to a Yankee game earlier and
it was George Costanza bobblehead night. First 18,000 fans in attendance.

Speaker 8 (32:45):
Right.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
First off, I had to get, it was a seven
o'clock game. I had to get there at five o'clock
just to get in line for the bobblehead. I'm standing
out there like a schlub for two hours waiting for
this bobblehead.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
That's because it's a popular gift.

Speaker 5 (32:56):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
I mean, Okay, you're the New York Yankees. Have some
pride and say, our attendance is 40,000. We're making 40,000
George Costanza bobbleheads. So Taylor doesn't have to get to
the stadium at 5 p.m.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
Right.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
It's why that team is worth a billion dollars, Taylor. Plus.

Speaker 8 (33:15):
I would have liked it better if they did. We're
selling 40,000. We're making 39,000 bobbleheads.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
Right.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
And I got to be honest.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
If you're 18,001, you don't deserve one. I mean.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Stu, you don't.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
Understand how early people are getting here for bobbleheads. It's
like people are getting the bobbleheads and then they're just
flipping them on eBay for like $ 35. You can't tell
me it's worth it to get to the Bronx at
3 p.m. for a George Costanza bobblehead night so you
could sell it four hours later for a profit of $ 50. $ 35.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
So what do you say? And spend those extra hours working?

Speaker 3 (33:49):
Yeah, get a real job. Leave me the bobbleheads.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Stop trying to flip bobbleheads. Did you get one?

Speaker 3 (33:58):
Yeah, I did.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Did you flip it?

Speaker 3 (34:00):
No, I kept it right on my shelf.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
You don't like George Costanza?

Speaker 3 (34:05):
Oh, that's where you're wrong.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
Oh, really?

Speaker 3 (34:07):
I love Seinfeld.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
I didn't know that. I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
Any show that's set in New York, I love.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
King of Queens. Yeah, Friends.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
Friends.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
You love Friends, huh?

Speaker 3 (34:18):
Everybody loves Raymond. Oh, I love Everybody Loves Raymond.

Speaker 6 (34:21):
Why?

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Because it's about a sports writer from Long Island?

Speaker 3 (34:23):
Correct. My big three is probably Seinfeld, King of Queens,
Everybody Loves Raymond.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
When we're in Tahoe and you see Ray Romano, when
you know he's a friend of mine because he says
hi to me every time he passes me, how come
you don't ask Ray to come on?

Speaker 2 (34:36):
If you're such a big fan of the show, just
ask him to come on next year.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
He never looks like he wants to come on.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
He doesn't want to come on.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
He never looks like it.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
But he will come on if you ask him to.

Speaker 5 (34:48):
You'll get josted.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
No, not by him. Listen, he'd be unhappy to come
on the show with us. Because he's always unhappy. Mikey,
you have one here?

Speaker 2 (35:01):
I do.

Speaker 8 (35:02):
Is it just me or have you seen one before?
a overseas NFL game. You've seen them all as we're
getting into the NFL season. As it starts tonight, I
can't wait. There's going to be a game in Melbourne tomorrow.
And I feel like it's just going to look like
every other game that's in London or Germany or Spain
or wherever else they get played. They're always sloppy. They're

(35:24):
always not nearly as fun as we want them to be.
And I'll be excited when there's a game at nine
30 in the morning, just because it gets to extend.

Speaker 5 (35:31):
My football day.

Speaker 8 (35:33):
But if you've seen one game, you've seen them all.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
It's the game you're excited for, that 9 a.m.

Speaker 6 (35:37):
Game.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
And then by the third quarter, you're like, wow, this
is really bad football. Watching J.J. McCarthy play Bo Nix.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Yeah, but this is Rams and Niners.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (35:49):
It's absurd.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Did Raheem Morris miss a birthday on his flight to Australia? Yes.
I read that somewhere.

Speaker 8 (35:58):
He took off on the second his birthday was the
third and he landed on the fourth.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
Really poor rahim ep jason you have what is it
just me guys or should the dodgers and dave roberts
just sit shohei otani for the rest of the season
they're winning without him i think he's had two hits
in the last eight games he's played in and those

(36:22):
two hits have been singles He's got a case of
the Kyle Tucker toxic mopiness.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
He's just moping around the dugout. And let's just sit
him for the rest of the season and bring him
back for the postseason.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
Is it just me or no?

Speaker 5 (36:36):
No.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
Hey, Otani. How about that?

Speaker 5 (36:39):
No hit, Otani.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
No hit, Otani. Ouch. He hasn't been good.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
He's running out of gas. I think there is something there.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
Well, that's why the Dodgers are so frustrating.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
They don't need him. They never did.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
Last 15 days, he's batting 139.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
Yeah, but they're playing good baseball without him.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
They might be better without him. Ewing theory.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Put it on the ball. Are the Dodgers better without
Shohei Ohtani? Is it just me or... Let me try
that again. Is it just me or is American tennis back?

Speaker 5 (37:22):
It's just you.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
You know, you sit around the days of John McEnroe
and Roscoe Tanner and Jimmy Connors and Sarita and Venus
and Chris Everett Lloyd, Chrissy, and you say to yourself,
when is U.S.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
Tennis going to come back? It's been a while. It's
been since Andy Roddick. And now it's back.

Speaker 5 (37:41):
U.S.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
