Please give this you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Are you ready for the weekken observations? Wow?
Speaker 3 (00:28):
I missed this, Yes, absolutely, Ricardo.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Give it to me. I missed it too.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Is he road hurts rolls off the tune?
Speaker 1 (00:47):
It had started in March, and although it's America's pastime,
it had taken a back seat for the past month
and a half to the World's game, where every conver
say shit, every highlight, every headline belonged to soccer. But
now with a final whistle blown, it's time for them
(01:11):
to reclaim the stage.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
And is he just like that?
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Make no mistake about it. Baseball is bound.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
It is the celebratory.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
I don't know, Ricardo is being honest. Argentina should have
given their silver medals. Sorry to Cabo Verde, Oh so true.
Enzo Fernandez with a red guard that cost Argentina the
(01:46):
World Cup. Tough way for his tournament to Endzo.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
About the clowns that Argentina team is outside of outside
of I don't know, you might be one two.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez nailed it, almost became the Argentinian
Jim Craig. What a game. Guy, He stood on his head. Yeah, yeah,
guy's great Spain with seven clean sheets this World Cup.
(02:26):
You know what they say, is he?
Speaker 3 (02:28):
What's that?
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Defense wins championships? Is very true? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Clean sheets? Do you like that phrasing?
Speaker 1 (02:34):
I don't know if I do. What's a clean sheet?
A shutout? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Yep?
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Huh. Lamin Yamal beating Lionel Messi in a World Cup final,
you know what that was is he was? It was
a passing of the torch?
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Yeah, except Lamal's not that changing of the guard.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, changing of the guard? What happened to her? I
call them lamal uh Lamal jackson. Instead of receiving a medal,
Lamin Yamal should have received a torch from Lionel Messi.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
He would have That would have been crazy.
Speaker 6 (03:21):
Who knows what would have happened with that fire because
that was kind of a sketchy down at the.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
A literal passing of the torch. Do you think at
any point yesterday Lionel Messi looked at Lamin Yamal and
thought to himself, I shouldn't have bathed that kid. He
he had his hands all over him. Phrasy, I need.
Speaker 6 (03:47):
My saying his name right by the way, absolutely nailing
all pronunciations so far. It's like I don't even know you,
much to your chagrin.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
If you are Lamin Yamal, you can never bathe the.
Speaker 7 (03:59):
Kid, not even your own.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Put it on the ball. Can Lamin Yamal ever bathe
his own kids?
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Know?
Speaker 3 (04:11):
It's crazy?
Speaker 6 (04:12):
Is Lamin ya Mal's father was born in nineteen ninety four. Wow,
what's his father's father born in nineteen ninety four?
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Don't feel old? Leo Messi sitting on the pitch taking
it all in with tears after losing the World Cup
final end of an error. Maybe maybe I've never yeah,
probably I've never laughed harder at a commercial than the
(04:41):
MLS one after the World Cup ended, saying we've got
it from here.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
I did not see that at all.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Hey, MLS, No, you don't.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
You got that.
Speaker 7 (04:54):
Baseball's back is he it's like a commercial with like
Tim Reem, Tim reams, I don't worry guys.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
I want to hear from that guy. He calls us
a cop of all people.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
That guy. No, thank you, we got it from.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Here Argentina, Argentina. So I get lea min ya mal
I haven't botched up, MESSI I got the Goldies name rights, I.
Speaker 7 (05:16):
Got the locals called Argentina.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah, I got Jim Craig. I mean Argentina. That stadium
is used to your kind of offense.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
They just did nothing. They had nothing.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Yeah. I missed the first one hundred and fifteen minutes
of the World Cup Final. You know what I missed, Izzie,
Absolutely nothing. Nil.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
A couple of Nils cutting it up is what you missed.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Yes, the problem with the beautiful game is that the
beautiful parts are so far and few between.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah, it's a great point, thank you.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Off Sides should be legal. I mean seriously, you know.
Speaker 6 (06:07):
You don't have to be on side if you're like
before midfield. So if you just play your entire offense
on the backside and don't worry about off.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Side, you just got got breaking free anytime.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
I don't know why people don't think about that.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
I would like off sides like you get like to
a game. It's like a challenge. Spain was off side.
They use their off sides card. They have a card.
I don't know why it's a card, but it's a
card because off sides. I mean, if it were legal,
there'd be more goals for sure.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Yes, it would be an entirely different game.
Speaker 7 (06:39):
Yes, we have to fix the world's most popular game.
I do a great.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
But the MLS they've got it from here.
Speaker 6 (06:47):
I mean they got ten goals in that third place game.
I think soccer could be Okay, you have.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
A third place game, That's what I'm talking about. Well
that Spain has a better offense than the Jets.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
You can say that about most teams in any sport.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
I had a better defense.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Yeah, probably, Well Argentina does too. The s in Spain.
You know what it stands for is he shut out soccer? Ah,
I'm sorry, it's zooming out a little bit. They have
the men's and women's champs Now, how about that, the
Open Championship right into the World Cup final. You know
(07:23):
what we had is he No? We had a Sunday Yeah?
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Oh my goodness, did we ever. Yeah, that Open final
pretty exciting at the end.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Not bad death taxes at Scotty Scheffler lurking in the
top five on Sunday at any major. If you think
you've killed Scotty Scheffler, think again.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Scotty's starting to kill himself lately.
Speaker 6 (07:46):
Well, he's missing some putts, he's doing some non Scotty
things up.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
He missed a cut. He didn't win a major this year,
but he was tough five or top ten in all four.
I believe Ryan Fox becoming just a second person from
New Zealand to win a major in golf since Sir
Bob Charles in nineteen sixty three. You of course know
what that means, right is he? Oh? They were due,
(08:10):
They were due the Kiwi's.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
By the way, this is a terrible thing to say
out loud, but based on Ryan Fox's body type, I
one thousand percent assumed he was American.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
I did not know he.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Was from New Zealand.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Ryan Fox took less time on a putt to win
the Open then I doing a three footer for triple bogey.
Speaker 6 (08:31):
The guy is fast, and you can see in his
face the fear didn't hit him until after he wanted.
He was like, oh my god, I didn't take time
to think about this.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
This is huge.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
That's how you eliminate the fear. Yeah, just play quickly,
don't think.
Speaker 6 (08:42):
And like I think there was what three birdies on
that eighteenth hole the entire day and he hit one
of them?
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Ye to win it?
Speaker 1 (08:47):
To win it? Yes?
Speaker 7 (08:49):
Is he he got off that green like he had
a dinner reservation that he had somewhere to be where
I'm watching it, And now I'm watching I'm like, oh,
this is gonna be such a cool moment when he
embraces his caddy. If you would have told me that
was the first time you ever met that caddy.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
You see the shot of the caddy behind him when
he hit the pot. It was great. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Bad for my guy cam Young though he was so.
Speaker 7 (09:09):
Glad he was waiting for like two hours on the driving.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Well, that bogey on eighteen and speaking of eighteen is
going to haunt him for the rest of time.
Speaker 6 (09:17):
Yeah, but that's how you know, fuck deserved it. Yes,
the one guy gets a bogie, one guy gets a
birdy to win it.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
He deserve that one, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Scottie Scheffler, too little, too late, been happening lately. NBC
announcers said Sam Burns had the name and look of
a country western singer.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
He does a little bit less upper lip than the
rest of us.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Yeah. Top five athletes with a great country music name.
Oh a I Dallas Braydon.
Speaker 7 (09:47):
Oh wow, that's one.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
It's pretty good, man.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
It's gonna be a great loose.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
I'm not certain if this works. Oh l I Luke Longley,
Oh that works.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
If you don't know that he was, you don't know
it's spelled l uc.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
It sounds like a country music singer.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Number five, Chase Daniel, the one, the Only, Chase Daniel.
Number four, Trey McBride.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Wow, and looks like a country music pretty good. McBride,
that's a great one.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Mikey, Why you didn't seem happy with that? I like it.
I like it.
Speaker 8 (10:26):
I'm trying to see when you said Chase Daniel, I
pictured pickup truck dog in the front seat, pound dog. Yeah,
Trey McBride, I didn't see it, but you're right, it
is good.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
But you can imagine yourself saying, hey, honey, where you
going tonight? And she's like, I'm going to see Trey
McBride McBride gonna.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
Yes, absolutely when you say it like yes, slap.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Number three Jordy Nelson, Okay, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
I like it a right, I mean Nelson is.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
There so yeah. Well number two Garrett call.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
I can see that.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Yeah yeah, but not album with Taylor Dallas Brandon should
have been number one. Yes, well, I don't know. Number one.
Curtis Pride.
Speaker 6 (11:14):
Curtis Pride could be a country singer or a gospel singer.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
I think he pits on the ball. Curtis Pride, country
singer or gospel singer. That you're rats. Yes, here come
the Red Sox.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
Oh really?
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Oh yeah?
Speaker 6 (11:31):
At ball Upstate, I've update, I've gotten into what baseball's doing.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Baseball is back. Marlin's not so well. Red Sox. I
think they won thirteen or fourteen straight.
Speaker 7 (11:40):
Marlin's got to get off the schneid.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Oh they're schneiding it.
Speaker 7 (11:42):
Huh yeah, big time schneid.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
France England greatest third place game of all time, so good,
it was so good. If every soccer match was like
France England, I'd never watch another sport.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
It's like a seventy to six three football game.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
If every soccer match was like Argentina Spain. I'd never
watch again.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
That was the greatest of all time in that game.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Yep, soccer giveth ed, soccer taketh. Goals in the third
place match shouldn't count towards the golden boot.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Couldn't agree more.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
That's ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
Get rid of the game. Nobody cares about it. Just
get rid of the game.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Yeah, but it's a great game.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
It was, so maybe people should care less about soccer.
We'd get more six to four finals.
Speaker 7 (12:35):
And Bopa shouldn't feel good though, going back to France
with that golden boot should.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Not get right. Yes, how many goals did he have
in the third place game? Terrible?
Speaker 3 (12:44):
The tournament?
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Yeah, it's terrible. How many did Messi have total? Yeah,
so they were tied going in.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
Yep, you should have that thing to Messy and Messi choked,
couldn't get the ball.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
He was like this that.
Speaker 7 (12:57):
I mean, the Vargentina team is so bad with out Messy.
Speaker 6 (13:00):
I think feel free to run a little bit and
get the ball, but they love to defend Messi.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
I'm walking so much. England scoring six goals without Harry
Kane here's something to ponder. Is England better without Harry Kane.
No need to discuss now, good, just stash it away
for a rainy day, and lord knows England has plenty
of those.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
Yeah, yep, it's got to be really raining for us
to discuss that.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Sus the NFL needs a third place game.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Oh no, it doesn't, No, it doesn't.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
The third place game was better than the championship.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
The third place game would be the new Pro Bowl.
It would just be terrible.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Close your eyes and imagine this. It's the day before
the Super Bowl. The Rams are playing the Broncos.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
Nothing for it, nothing, nothing now now is he?
Speaker 7 (14:01):
Imagine Matthew Stafford was sitting out the game, but the
Rams are within striking distance. So that final drive, Matthew
Stafford gets subbed in, and now he's leading the Rams.
And what do you get for a third place Maybe
a golden get a golden boot.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
That's right, top five pick.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
I would watch that game. I would for the number
one pick in the draft. Third place game.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
I would cheer against both teams because my loser team
deserves the number one pick in the draft.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
The quickest way to get me to the theater is
to put Ann Hathaway in your movie.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Agreed, that sounds like a tailor observation.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
It was agree with his own observation.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
You know he likes his own Twitter posts as well.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
The Odyssey overrated? Really, the Owen Odyssey stands for overrated.
If you thought The Odyssey was the greatest movie ever,
you want to see another movie.
Speaker 7 (15:00):
Literally, any other movie.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
Hey, Christopher Nolan, If you have to tell people to
watch your movies on a specific screen, you are not
good at making movies should work on any screen.
Speaker 6 (15:18):
I can't believe they have a rich person version of
that movie and a poor person version of that movie.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
Has Christopher Nolan jumped the shark?
Speaker 1 (15:26):
Oh God put it on the ball for me a
long time ago. Christopher Nolan casting Matt Damon and Anne
Hathaway in every movie is the Hollywood version of Tom
Thibodeau bringing Derek Rose and Taj Gibson to every coaching job.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Tom's still doing it, Bibbs.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
When I didn't see Michael Kane, Michael Kane Christopher Nolan's
latest movie, I had to look up if he was
still alive. Good news for Michael and the Canes. He is, wow,
ninety three years old.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
Best Caine alive?
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Good for him? Just being alive. The Thunder have acquired
seven second round picks this offseason. You know what they say,
is he if you have seven second round picks.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
You got a decent G League team.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
You have none o the Thunder of the Michael Jordan
of acquiring second round picks.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
They are second round pick goats.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
Bill Belichick is salivating.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
Tom Brady slapping Logan Paul in the face at Fanatics Fest. Hey, Tom,
you're embarrassing yourself. Say that louders, Dude, when did Tom
Brady become a gimmick?
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Such a joke.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
Tom Brady outside of football lame as hell? Speaking of
hell arp Ryles is he Yeah, those are the we
can observations.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Brady's a loser.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gotson Company
Live Wheakda said three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
The Great Mike Golick Senior is with us. Were you
guys into the soccer yesterday? Mike? Were you all over
the World Cup Final? Oh?
Speaker 9 (17:23):
Yeah, I can't believe how much Spain dominated razy game. Yeah,
I mean dominated that game. That was I did not
see that coming. I knew Spain was good. Obviously you're
waiting for Messi to do something, but I mean that
was just pure domination.
Speaker 6 (17:42):
But this was like if the eighty six Bears had
their you know, playoff run again and right before the
Super Bowl. Nobody knew that they were going to dominate
defensively because they were dominating the entire tournament. They gave
up one goal, So you know, if you'd watched Argentina,
you know they're kind of they know, they weren't even
leading any of the knockout games until after the ninetieth minute,
(18:04):
so you knew they could struggle, and so to me,
that was almost pretty predictable. But I don't think I've
ever seen a one sided soccer match turn out to
just be a one nil result like that.
Speaker 9 (18:15):
I agree, I agree, And obviously they had the discount
of goal would have been would have been two nil.
But you're right, especially in a World Cup final, to
be that dominant, and you know, obviously Argentina playing with
ten men doesn't help either, and they were just praying
to get to penalty kicks. Yes, that was the only
shot they had, but you're right, a game that dominated
(18:37):
by one team and it just being one nil, where
one crazy kick or one incredible dribble down the field
by Messi and it could have been an even game
going to penalty kicks.
Speaker 6 (18:50):
Why is soccer so I guess, for lack of a
better word, so testy. I'm not even asking you this
to get Mike. But it's like after the match and
you see the Argentinian prayer match to match, yeah, yeah,
and it's like, oh, he said something bad about Messy.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
I'm like, dude, you just lost. They can say whatever
they want if you hit him, You're the jerk for this.
I don't get it. I hate that part of the sport.
Speaker 9 (19:10):
Oh I listen, I'm with you once to I'm always
amazed once the game's over, if you start something you
just had what one hundred and twenty minutes, one hundred
and fifteen minute, hundred whatever whatever it was to get
the job done, you didn't. That's not the time to
start mouthing off, not at all.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
You know.
Speaker 9 (19:29):
The thing that quite honestly blows my mind the most,
what is the Super Bowl watched by one hundred and
ten million, one hundred and twenty million out the area
of on a good year. They said this was gonna
set a record of maybe almost two billion people. I mean,
that's a quarter of the planet watching this.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
This is it's unbelievable how much it's watched. It just stunning.
Speaker 6 (19:53):
There are premier league games that get more numbers, bigger
numbers in the Super Bowl every year.
Speaker 5 (19:58):
It is truly world sport.
Speaker 7 (20:01):
Stu, your your complain about soccer is that sometimes the
team will try to drag another team into the mud.
What's what's the difference between soccer doing that and when
football does it when a team is clearly outmatched and
they try to muck it.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Up for basketball, because football, what they're doing is they
go to overtime and they continue to play football. That's
what they do. They're not throwing balls to a tire.
I mean, we're going to penalty kicks in a game
that was one nothing after ninety hours.
Speaker 9 (20:26):
I mean, yeah, that would be a kin in football
to having the field goal kickers decided. Yeah, I'm not
a fan of that, you know, I say, play on
kind of like hockey. They have they have a shootout
in the regular season, but in the playoffs they just
keep playing. They just they just keep playing, right, And
I know, listen, I'm an armchair soccer fan, and a
(20:50):
casual one at that, not knowing the intricacies of the rules.
But I understand it is a grind to be on
the pitch and run that long.
Speaker 6 (20:59):
But Taylor to you to the thing that I think
that Argentina. Argentina did differently. It's not like, hey, our
strategy is going to change to try to slow up
the game. It's like, hey, no, we're just gonna choke
you every time. We're just gonna do a jump on
your back to try to you know, complete this tackle
and play in ways and that they get away with, frankly,
in ways that nobody else plays, just so we can
(21:20):
slow Spain down. Because if they just tried normal tactics,
it would have been about a six to nothing game.
Speaker 7 (21:24):
If they tried normal tactics, they had no chance. But
the round before they kind of did it to England
and kind of got in England's head and that's how
they were able to qualify for the final.
Speaker 9 (21:32):
Oh yeah, god, England, didn't they That was a yak,
wasn't it.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Exactly what that was?
Speaker 1 (21:41):
In fairness to tailor questioning me on that, I am
the guy who said, rather than go to extra ratings,
let's have a home run derby. I mean, settle it
just so we can get home early. You know what
I'm saying. I mean, well, that's the thing.
Speaker 9 (21:52):
There's playing the game the way it's meant to be played,
and then there's entertainment value. Right, penalty kicks is entertaining,
shootout and hockey is entertaining. But when it's the final game,
when it's for everything, man, I just I just think,
as tough as it is. Again, as I'm sitting on
my ass drinking a beer and.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Eating a keep running.
Speaker 5 (22:13):
Keep running, you guys, keep.
Speaker 9 (22:15):
Running, get cramp up, throw up on yourself, but keep running.
Speaker 6 (22:20):
As good as that whole World Cup was from beginning
to almost end, all the way through the third place game,
if somebody had held out the entire time and said, okay, fine,
I'll watch the final. They've got this guy who's the
greatest of all time and the guy who he's patching
the passing the torch to lamin Ya Mal. Let's see
what they got. I would never watch soccer MESSI did
(22:41):
absolutely nothing, and Lamina Mal was yeah, it was there,
but really didn't do a whole heck of a lot either.
I'd say you know what if he if that was
the great one and he's the next great one.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
I'm good missing this sport.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
I mean that.
Speaker 9 (22:52):
That's unfortunately, especially in America, while the sport has got listen,
I've been in media for twenty five thirty years. The
sport of soccer has gotten more popular, but still obviously
does not equal the world's popularity. That's why in America
will watch the World Cup, especially because it was here,
right and then for the most part, we'll put it away, yes,
(23:15):
right until the next World Cup, and hopefully now because
it won't be in the United States and men'll actually
have to qualify for it that they do.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
Yep. How do you feel about third place games in general, Mike?
Speaker 9 (23:27):
I mean, oh man, there's no way the NFL should
go down this route. They started actually discussing that. I mean,
do you want to talk about the epitome of who
gives a damn? I mean, look look at that third
place game.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
Ingam was up for nil for nil, the guy I've
always wanted, Yes.
Speaker 5 (23:50):
I mean, I ended up what six'?
Speaker 9 (23:52):
FOUR i mean, Crazy there is no chance those guys
didn't want to play THE. Nfl i'm reading articles THE
nfl is considering. It why why would you consider?
Speaker 3 (24:05):
It?
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Money that's? Why oh, yeah you're, right yeah, right money.
Ratings people will watch, it people will gamble on. It
you know what if we made it, This, mike just
hear me out for a. Second what if it Were Raven,
seahawks the losers of THE afc AND nfc championship game
playing in a third place game in the winner gets
a top five draft. Pick how about?
Speaker 9 (24:26):
That, wow you put something on it like. That, yeah
all of a, SUDDEN i like this has has some. Meaning, now,
yeah screw the bad team that had the fifth, pick not.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
Being Bad, JETS i mean drop then down a.
Speaker 9 (24:39):
Pick you would have to have some kind of and
and obviously that won't. Happen but that's a nice. Theory
that's the wonderful thing about something that's not in, play
as you can make up all the theories that you.
WANT i would pray they never do.
Speaker 5 (24:51):
It.
Speaker 6 (24:51):
Though it would have to be a financial incentive for the,
players because if you're a free agent to be what
do you care if The Buffalo bills get a top.
Speaker 9 (25:00):
Pick, oh especially in the sport of, football where injury
is so, prevalent you go from your season being over
to playing one more game with the possibility of rehabbing
the entire offseason if you get.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Hurt, yeah how do you feel about, Him bobbi getting
That Golden boot award or whatever it. Is we're playing
in a meaningless game and scoring two goals to get
ahead Of.
Speaker 9 (25:20):
Messi, yeah, well obviously it was between him And, messi
and And messi really got clamped down in the final. Game, listen,
AGAIN i don't know enough about the intricacies of. SOCCER i,
mean the some of the offside calls that WERE i,
mean like by a couple of. INCHES i mean just
just some of the some of the tactics. INVOLVED i
(25:42):
don't know enough about the. Game BUT i enjoyed Watching,
IMBAPE i enjoyed Watching.
Speaker 5 (25:48):
Messi you could just. Tell it's just like it's just
like in.
Speaker 9 (25:51):
Football, yeah you know when when when a Guy i'll
PICK i played With Reggie. White just Watching Reggie white,
play and so even at the pro, level there's a, difference,
Right and it's just. Difference there's just different When mbap
Or messi has the ball and they're. Dribbling messi's passes
are just right on the. Money it's just different watching
(26:14):
guys like.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
That, mike were you amazed like we were At Ryan.
Fox we were talking about this earlier, now just like
the quickness in which he takes such a meaningful putt
to win The Open. Championship But taylor made the joke
THAT i have spent more time analyzing a shot just you,
know on A saturday afternoon for triple bogie than he
did in a putt to win The Open. Championship he
(26:36):
was it a.
Speaker 9 (26:36):
RUSH i think the greatest HIGHLIGHT i saw was After
Sam burns put it. Out, yes they put a clock
on how Quickly fox, shot and from the Time Sam
burns put it, Out Ryan fox putt it in twenty
two seconds to win the opening twenty two. SECONDS i
(27:00):
love this, guy, listen and by all accounts he has
beloved on the.
Speaker 5 (27:04):
Tour he's a great.
Speaker 9 (27:05):
Guy you see him one time pick up his playing
partners divot and throw it back to.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
Him.
Speaker 9 (27:11):
YEAH i, mean the dude is just a good. Guy
and his dad is one, of you, know one of
a rugby player From New. Zealand dude looks like.
Speaker 5 (27:19):
He could be a rugby.
Speaker 9 (27:20):
Player, yes you, know he's certainly built and thick. ENOUGH
i love.
Speaker 5 (27:24):
IT i think it's.
Speaker 9 (27:25):
AWESOME i love the FaceTime call after with his wife and.
Kids and you heard his wife SAY i almost got
on a plane the night before to go. There they
had just moved To, Jupiter. Florida it's such a great.
Story it is absolutely a, great great.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
Story due how do you feel about throwing a dibbot
to another? Person have you done it?
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Before? No but it's a great move by.
Speaker 9 (27:45):
It he just wants to keep, Playing, yes, yes, YES
i couldn't keep up with. Him he walks too. FAST
i love the fact that he plays.
Speaker 5 (27:53):
Quick that's.
Speaker 9 (27:54):
Cool, yes but it's almost like you're playing alone because
you can't keep up with the.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
GUY i Thought Sam burns was gonna kill him on
the Eighteenth green because he was putting And Ryan fox
is walking Towards sam as he's in his back.
Speaker 9 (28:05):
Swing, yes how ABOUT i See fox's caddy at times
running to keep up with.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
Him he's carrying a.
Speaker 9 (28:13):
Bag it's, like, Dude i'm carrying a fifty pounds bag,
here you know where you?
Speaker 7 (28:18):
Going it was, great, Though who do you think had
a Better? Sunday Ryan fox or the better who placed
a fifty five dollars wager On Ryan fox to win
The open during round one at two thousand to one.
Odds that won one hundred and ten thousand on a
fifty five dollars.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Bet.
Speaker 5 (28:35):
Wow, wow that's. Impressive that's. That that's. Impressive, yes that's
what that.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Is it's a it's a. Flyer it's a. Sprinkle, yeah that's.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
All and that's what you.
Speaker 5 (28:45):
Do you take a, flyer, Right, yes and you.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Did. YES i don't know how.
Speaker 5 (28:49):
Much what was the? Purse what did he? WIN i
don't know how many millions he?
Speaker 1 (28:53):
Won that's a good.
Speaker 9 (28:53):
Quest still gonna look that up WHEN i ask you this. Question,
obviously thirty nine years, old it was his twenty ninth.
MAJOR i was looking him. UP i think his best
finish ever in a. MAJOR i could be, wrong was
like tied for twenty third and at thirty nine years
old gets his.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
First it was just. Awesome it was three point two
million dollars he picked up.
Speaker 3 (29:13):
Yesterday. Yeah, Wow, yeah that's.
Speaker 5 (29:15):
Nice it's a, nice nice bit of.
Speaker 6 (29:16):
Cheese, Yes because if you throw a dibbot like whoever catches,
it it's probably going to collapse in his, hands, right
it's not going to stay?
Speaker 8 (29:23):
There?
Speaker 9 (29:23):
Yeah, there well he probably he probably threw it to
the other golfer's caddy who was probably going to replace.
Speaker 5 (29:30):
It and you're, right those fricking fair ways oh my.
GOD i mean they're.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
Brown, Yes but what he's doing there because he just
wants to keep hitting golf Pads, Okay, yeah he's throwing
the divit backwards so it prevents the caddy from having
to walk, up grab the, divot then walk back to
the spot place the divot. Down he's, like, NO i
want to take my next. Shot here's your.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
Divot, yeah and if it.
Speaker 9 (29:50):
COME i do wonder if he's playing a round of
golf and he's not being held, up how long it
would take him to play eighteen.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
With one the?
Speaker 9 (30:00):
Course yeah, yeah, yeah or LIKE i, said him not
getting held, up he's just able to keep going at
his pace of how quick it was got to be
one of the fastest. ROUNDS i know there's those people
that race that. RUN i don't mean, THAT i mean
this would be his normal. Round, yes i'd watch that speed. Golf, yes,
yeah yeah's the best way to.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
Play it'd be. Great can the sec just break away?
Already stop talking about, It just go be on your
own and play on your own play each other all.
Speaker 5 (30:26):
Year see they they won't do.
Speaker 9 (30:29):
IT i get in this discussion all the time with
my Son, mike who thinks that The power For there
are people think that The power four should break, away,
right the four top top conferences break away and be
on their. Own AND i, said they'll never do, it
because what do you? Need you need communication and you need.
Agreement and at the end of the, Day Greg sankie
(30:52):
is not going to listen to. Anybody Greg sankie is
not going to feel any other commissioner is equal to,
Him so you're not Gonna AND i don't mean that
in a bad way To. GREG i just mean how
these commissioners run their. Conferences their conferences is their. Priority
AND i get. It remember when the OLD pac twelve
and The big ten had their arms around each other and,
(31:13):
said we're going to schedule each other and work with
each other UNTIL i think it was A big ten
got a better deal or or something worked out in
their Favorite they're, like ye f see, Ya, okay.
Speaker 5 (31:22):
We didn't mean.
Speaker 9 (31:23):
THAT i MEAN i do not think the Four power
conference commissioners can work together enough to pull it. Off
so while everybody says this has to change or that
has to.
Speaker 5 (31:35):
CHANGE i don't see anything.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
