This is the best of Stu Gotson Company Live on
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
We have a loaded show for you today. Big guest,
big names. Kenny Albert going to join us at three
twenty five, Mike Greenberg, who was sitting courtside last night
at the Mecca for Nick Sixers, Big damn Big Game two.
I told you agreed to get to join us at
around four to twenty five. And Colin Cowherd, what is
(00:43):
good to join us at around four forty five. We're
gonna have to be disciplined today in terms of clock management.
That is inside radio right there. But Colin's going to
join us at four forty five today because we this show.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
We're filling in for Colin Cowherd tomorrow. What how about that?
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Yes, they couldn't get Ai Colin to do it.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
No, but we'll have Ai Colin on as a guest. Yeah, defineper.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
That is such a good line, soz he last night
we had two games two big game twos. In the NBA,
San Antonio ties their series up with Minnesota one game apiece.
The Knicks are up two games to nothing on Philadelphia.
But that's not the story from the NBA last night.
I feel like the story is Draymond Green running his
mouth again.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
Yes, so we have sound of him talking to Charles Barkley,
and there was this, you know, Barkley was basically telling him, Hey,
it's a young players league.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
You guys are pretty much done.
Speaker 5 (01:40):
You and Steph. I don't see it happening again. And
then Draymond's response decided to have like a It was cutting,
it was odd, and it was I think inappropriate.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
Let's listen to it.
Speaker 6 (01:51):
Okay, sports are for young people.
Speaker 7 (01:54):
You hope to have a great, long career, but sports
nobody wins.
Speaker 6 (01:59):
When that third seven.
Speaker 8 (02:00):
Thirty eight that you said what you said, I didn't
want to hear if he believes what you're talking, Yeah,
I mean I think the goal is just to not
look like you in the Houston Rockets uniform.
Speaker 9 (02:10):
Yeah, it is ultimately the goal for us, Like we
don't want.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
To What does that look like?
Speaker 4 (02:16):
Did you see it?
Speaker 3 (02:17):
I'm just asking I saw it.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
That that doesn't like.
Speaker 5 (02:24):
First of all, let's see Houston Rockets Charles Barkley his
last year in Houston. Last year averaged fourteen and a
half points, yea ten and a half rebounds. Yes, I'm
going to now look at Draymond Green's stat line for
his entire career, and I will not be able to
find fourteen and a half points and I will not
(02:46):
be able to find even double figure rebounds. Yes, go ahead,
tell it so, Stu.
Speaker 9 (02:50):
In his four years in Houston, Chuck averaged sixteen, twelve
and four, including averaging eighteen and twelve during a run
to the Western Conference.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Now Draymond's a guest on Charlesy's show too, so that
makes it even more disrespectful.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
And let me just say this, I don't care how
many titles you win. It does not define who you
are as a person. Right, It does not give you
the green light to all of a sudden be this.
Whatever it is what Draymond is right here, whatever it
is that Klay Thompson does when he breaks up with
Meghan the Stallion and then just goes on a livestaman
(03:26):
says here, I am enjoying my life as a four
time NBA champion. It doesn't mean anything outside of basketball.
So Draymond just because you won those championships does not
mean you can come here and disrespect Charles Barkley, disrespect
the game. It doesn't like. The thing I love about
Charles Barkley is he doesn't let his not winning a
championship define who he is. That man went on camera
(03:48):
every single day and is the most confident person out there,
So it doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
If he won those championships or not.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
So I'm agreeing with everything that it is you're saying.
You can't do that, especially if you're not the reason,
the main reason that that team won four NBA titles
and Draymond he.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Is the third. It's you know, you could argue Steve.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Kerr and put him ahead of Draymond Green, but everyone
would would agree. I would think, except for Draymond Green,
that Charles Barkley was the superior player to Draymond Green.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
Look, Horace Grant isn't gonna come on inside the NBA
and diss Charles Barkley like that, Okay, right, largely because
he played against him and probably got cooked by Charles
Barkley a.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
Ton, But he is not the reason they won those champions.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
It's such a.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Great example because Draymond Green is Horace Grant. Horace Grant
was the third person on those Bulls teams behind Michael
and Scott.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
He's Horace three point zhos. You know, he was the
first one. That it was Dennis and now it's Draymond right.
Speaker 9 (04:41):
Yes, I am so tired of Draymond Green. Me and
Stu Gotts have been on the anti Draymond Green island
where you could have drafted a ton of players in
that scenario. I know Draymond Green is an all NBA
level defender. I know he plays a big role on
those Warriors teams. Draymond Green, though, looks in the mirror
(05:05):
and thinks that he is the sole reason for why
the Warriors were the Warriors. You swap PJ. Tucker, Paul Millsap,
and Gerald Wallace with Draymond Green. I hate to break
it at Draymond Green. Those teams probably win the same
amount of titles with those players in their peak.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Well, the Bulls did it because they had Horace Grant
for three NBA titles, Jordan took two years off, Elijah
won won two titles that he really didn't win, and
then Michael came back and they did it again three
consecutive titles, not with Horace Grant, with Dennis Robmin.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
So, yeah, I.
Speaker 5 (05:37):
Know basketball is a team sport, of course it is, right,
but it you know, in terms of pride, in terms
of what you can do, in terms of your skill set,
like one on one is like the ultimate test, is it?
Not Like I'm not a good one on one player.
I would much rather play five on five. The better
players are the better one on one players. Who's Draymond beaton?
(05:57):
I know he's a great defender, right, I know he blows,
But who's he beating amongst the greats? Like, and everybody's
gonna cook him in a one on one because like
he doesn't do anything this.
Speaker 9 (06:05):
This is what Austin Rivers was basically saying to him
when they were beefing earlier in the week, Like Draymond
watched the tape, teams are leaving you open on purpose
because nobody really respects you from a scoring standpoint. When
it comes to the NBA, He's.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
A great role player.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Yes, Austin Rivers was saying that Draymond was lucky to
be drafted by the Golden State Warriors that he you know,
he he wound up in a great position as the
third behind Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. It was nice
to hear another NBA player lend voice to what it
is I've been saying for many many years.
Speaker 5 (06:35):
Like now I'm just picturing what the timeline where PJ.
Tucker is on this team and he's the Draymond Green,
and I'm like, wow, that's a nice little yeah, it's
like a Hall of Famer.
Speaker 9 (06:45):
Absolutely was the Draymond Green, right place, right time, Hall.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Of Fame break.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Is that the Hall of Fame that he's in right place,
right time?
Speaker 5 (06:55):
And it's just it's just so annoying because it's just like, yeah,
you won the four rings, and like that just makes
everything in your life like disappear, Like, oh no, everythings
are bad. I'm just gonna think about my four championships. Okay,
you were part of a great team that accomplished a lot.
What is that gonna mean when you're seventy.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
Like you're just gonna walk around.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
I'm gonna be a jerk to that guy because I
won four championships, Like, come on, man, this is just
you being kind of a jerk. Being who you are,
and you're allowing those rings for you to amplify that,
and it be okay, Stu.
Speaker 9 (07:26):
He went on to explain to Charles Barkley in that
clip on Inside the NBA, the goal is to always
compete at a championship standard. As you get older, you
have to redefine what success is. Still the most sellouts
in the NBA, Still the most nationally televised games in
the NBA, Draymond Green, The reason for those two things
(07:48):
is you have Steph Kerr.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
That's it the only reason. And by the way, he's
saying all of this while he's sitting.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
Next to Charles Barkley on his show doing a post game,
I mean he's actively moving the goalposts.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
He's saying, oh, you know what, he used to be championships.
Now sellouts are the thing. It's so ridiculous.
Speaker 5 (08:04):
He sounds like such a loser in fact, him versus Austin,
which I don't even want to play the tape on
that because it's just it's two It sounds like two.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Grade schoolers arguing yes, and neither of them look like
a winner.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Yes, Dan Bayer wants to get in here, go ahead, Yeah.
Speaker 8 (08:16):
I think There's also an interesting point as well, because
some of us, I won't say all of us, but
some of us are old enough to remember when Charles
Barkley was not liked in the NBA or had that
edge to him, but he seemed to do a one
point eighty in his post playing career and later on
in his year and I don't know in his years.
I don't think Draymond has understood that, Like, if you're
(08:38):
going to make that transition from player to media member
and maybe try to follow in the footsteps of Charles
Barkley where you should have some respect, I think there's
at some point that you have to have some softening.
And Charles Barkley is not the guy that we saw,
you know, saying stuff in the media when he was
with the Sixers and getting fine for this and that
he turned and I don't think Draymond understands that, which
(08:59):
is an another part of this. Yeah, you're never going
to be Charles Barkley if you're continuing taking shots like
that at Charles Barkle.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
He also speaks in a very defensive nature, right, Like
he's always thinks people are attacking him, so he's going
to attack back, even in this where he took it
like a personal shot at Charles Barkley.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
And those are the worst kind of people to argue with, right.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
But isn't the reason for him being defensive is a
lot of fans, a lot of people feel like, hey,
anyone could have won with Stephen Klett, Right.
Speaker 5 (09:24):
But if you are such a proud four time champion,
let it roll off your back.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Right.
Speaker 5 (09:29):
Nobody's going to be able to prove otherwise because you
did it and you can't go back in time, So
just let it go. But no, he wants to be
the guy that puts his foot in the dirt and
says I'm going to, you know, defend myself at.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Every cost, and it's at every turn. It's just like, no,
you don't have to.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
He walks around with a resume rather than let the
resume talk for itself.
Speaker 10 (09:47):
Right.
Speaker 9 (09:48):
If Draymond Green was drafted to the Charlotte Hornets by
year six, he would have been a Beijing duck.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Put it on the ball.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
If Draymond Green was drafted by the Charlotte or it's
six years from the day, would he have been a
Beijon duck Beijing whatever.
Speaker 6 (10:07):
Dog is delicious, it's north of Beijing.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
All of the Beijing duck.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
Man delightful.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
I also like the idea that because Charles Barkley did
all his media work after he was done playing, like
the idea that you're there, you're not playing in the playoffs,
you are currently doing media and you're sitting there talking
with your chest out like you you haven't been in
the playoffs at least significantly for a few years. And yeah,
it's it's kind of embarrassing. And it's like, if you
(10:42):
were as confident and as the guy that you present
to be, you wouldn't have to come up here and
do this media stuff. You'd be enjoying your off season.
Speaker 9 (10:50):
I have a nominee for right Place, Right Time, Sports
Hall Fame. Anybody who was on inter Miami before Messi came.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
Over, before Messi is a place right time.
Speaker 9 (11:01):
Yeah, well they're on the team when they got messy.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (11:04):
Like those are guys who are like just just hanging
around in the MLS and it's like, oh my god,
now we're playing with the best player ever.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
Who was right place, right time for the heat when Lebron,
Wade and Bosh all got.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
Together, was it Mario Chalmers? It was ers, his career
was going nowhere past.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Sue Chalmers thinks he's the reason.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
He was also right place, right time when Memphis missed
free throws. That was another opportunity, yeah for Mario Chalmers.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gotson Company
Live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
Mike Greenberg in about twenty five minutes, looking forward to that.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Colin Cowhard at four forty five.
Speaker 9 (11:49):
I've got an update. What Colin Coward has to postpone.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Get out of here? You get a or I mean
busy too? Does he know the hoops we jumped through
to a fill in for him? Tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (12:01):
We're gonna mess up, I.
Speaker 9 (12:03):
Mean and be I mean no, I don't even know
if I'm allowed to say why he's not allowed on
because I just got the text message and it sounds
kind of serious. I hope everybody's all right. It doesn't
involve Colin. It involves Collins transportation on the way home.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
Well, what, I hope everybody's okay.
Speaker 9 (12:20):
Yep, you guys are all in the same text message.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
I am as a professional.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
My alerts are silenced. Let me see this here.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
Hold on, is he okay? For real? Is he okay?
Is Colin okay? Colin is okay?
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Transportation company might not be okay? Is somebody involved? And
what is happening here? Because we just like we turned
around the whole schedule.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
My head hurts. I'm exhausted.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
I'm tired because we were trying to facilitate the Colin
Cowherd interview and now he's not coming on and we're
filling in for him tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
We're doing his job for him tomorrow. I might cancel.
Speaker 6 (12:59):
I believe the word is postponed.
Speaker 5 (13:01):
Yes, I think we need to do enough of a
bad job that he will never ask us back again.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
I mean, I am flying on a bird early in
the morning to get up to Syracuse to host this
show because it's based in Syracuse. Well, no, because my
daughter is graduating from Syracuse University this weekend, which is
why I'm negotiating with Mike t Rico for a shorter speech.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
That's ridiculous, is negotiating this one.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
So it's interesting here again Greenie get to joined us
at in about twenty minutes.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Here.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
I can't get away from the Yankees. I mean, if
it's not Taylor, it's mikey A. If it's not mikey A,
it's Taylor. And now it's Israel, goouty eras of all people,
he has been sucked in to the New York Yankees.
What is going on with you? The Yankees and Garrett Cole.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
Well, it was just it's a little bit of a coincidence.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
Right.
Speaker 5 (13:51):
The other day, it was either yesterday of the day before,
I was in here, and I was just sort of
mocking Garrett Cole because physically he does not look like
a professional athlete these days, right, And so you know,
in my head.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
I felt a little guilty about that. I was like,
I probably shouldn't shame him.
Speaker 5 (14:05):
But then I watched a clip from I believe yesterday
where he was doing a rehab start and he gave
up a home run. And again a minor league rehab start.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Yes, just stop and think about that for a second. Though,
the Yankees are this good without Garrett Cole.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
My least favorite Yankees team ever. I'm just gonna say it,
it's Taylor.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Taylor quote yeah, well me too, Yes, something in common.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
And then so he gives up a home run to
a prospect and then the next time up hits.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
The dude, and it's just like, what, what, like is
your ego that frail?
Speaker 5 (14:38):
Like this is the whole point of coming and to
a rehab start is to shake off the rust, is
to see what you're doing wrong, you know, maybe correct
the mechanics a little bit, not to be a petulant
child and potentially injure a franchise's prospect.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
And you know, you go back.
Speaker 5 (14:53):
To like old Garrett Cole stuff when he was asked
about the what do they call that spider attack or
something like that, they were spider tack that they weren't
allowed to use for grip, and he was asked about it,
and he was just like, I don't really know how
to answer that question.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
It's like, it's a pretty simple question, dude.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
It's a yes or a no.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
And by saying it this way, you've obviously already answered
the question. I'm just starting to wonder, is he a jerk?
Do people not like him? Because so far I.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Do not, Taylor, you would know best on this front.
Do people not like Garrett Cole?
Speaker 9 (15:19):
The only people that matter whether or not they like
Garrett Cole or not are Yankee fans today, Garrett Cole
comes back, right now, what a luxury Garrett Cole would
be on this team where Garrett Cole comes back, most
teams he would be coming back. And it's like, this
guy needs to be an ace. Right, we got an ace.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
They would say their ace is coming back, but your
race is Cam, right Cam?
Speaker 3 (15:37):
And then by the way, you see what Skeins did
you have to stay backs free?
Speaker 6 (15:41):
Right there? What did you?
Speaker 9 (15:42):
What did Skens do?
Speaker 3 (15:43):
He was great?
Speaker 9 (15:44):
I mean, it's still not gonna nine cases.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
Well, I already found an article that confirms everything I
need to know from twenty twenty two. It's the headline,
is I really hate Garrett Cole? Okay, well yeah, the
lead is Garrett Cole is an a hole?
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Who wrote it? I mean, Garth your gee?
Speaker 4 (16:03):
Your gee?
Speaker 6 (16:04):
Wow? So he wrote it.
Speaker 9 (16:05):
So Sken's had such a great start. He got his
ERA down to two point three six, which is still
a lot higher than Cam Schlitzer's one five too, and they.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
Get Garrett Cole back.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
So you're mad at Cale because he's supposed to be
shaking off the Russ and he's not supposed to be
throwing it guys because he's upset.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
Is that what you're saying.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
Yeah, right, I understand you're upset about giving up the
home run, but it wasn't even the very next batter. Yeah,
Like you can't even calm down enough after an eight
hitters in between? Yeah, that you want to hit him again?
And it's like, do you want to have like an
internal dialogue where you can just talk yourself.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
Down a little bit?
Speaker 5 (16:43):
Like as a professional athlete, that's something you do every
once in a while, right, you get a little heated,
calm yourself down.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Apparently he's too big for that.
Speaker 11 (16:51):
He's doing a rehab assignment, which is essentially practice, And
if I'm not mistaken, you practice like you play. Yeah,
if you got to hit guys in the game, you
want to make sure you're not.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
To get him.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
He's a gamer. That's the kind of guy I wan
on my team. He takes every start seriously. I mean,
he doesn't make many of them because he's injured all
the time, but when he starts, it doesn't matter if
it's a rehab start majors.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
He takes it seriously.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
And you're talking about shaking off all the cobwebs, Okay,
talking about practice, that's practice, right, Well, he has to
practice beating people.
Speaker 6 (17:21):
Kobe would have done it.
Speaker 9 (17:23):
I think the bigger problem for Garrett Cole is Garrett
Cole when he gives up this home run, he's having
to eat a little bit of humble pie. Where he's
supposed to be the Ace of the Yankees, but instead
he's in single a ball for the Hudson Valley Renegades,
whose mascot is a raccoon. Yeah, it's just a I
love the Hudson Valley Renegades too, very close to where
(17:44):
I grew up, Like that was like most kids would
go to Yankee games, I would go to Hudson Valley
Renegades games.
Speaker 5 (17:49):
I'll tell you Garrett's eating a lot. It's not humble
pie though other pies.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Why is he blown up? It's a look at him
right now. It's a very bad angle.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Whatever.
Speaker 9 (18:02):
Whoever took that picture, whoever took that picture had something
to get after Derek Cole.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
You're making excuses very Yankee picture, and he's he's not
saying it was a bad angle.
Speaker 9 (18:14):
So it's funny that this story about Garrett Cole is
talking about intentionally hitting somebody, because when we were doing
this segment, last last segment, the think about It Thursday
for Best Press Conferences, Ricardo said, what about the Tommy
Lasorda meltdown? And I said, I don't I'm not as familiar,
so Ricardo cut it up. But this is the padres.
Kurt Evaqua accused Tommy Lasorda of telling his picture on
(18:39):
the Dodgers to hit players intentionally, and this was Tommy
Lasorda's response.
Speaker 10 (18:43):
Tell you what I think about it. I think that
is very very bad for that man to make an
accusation like that. That is terrible. I have never, ever
since that managed ever told a picture to throw it anybody,
or will I ever, And if I ever did, I
(19:06):
certainly wouldn't make him throw at a one and thirty
hitter like Lefe Orvaqua, who could hit water if he
fell out of a boat. And I guarant to you this.
When I pitched and I was going to pitch against
a team that had guys on it like Baqua, I
sent a limousine to get to make sure he was
(19:28):
in the mother lineup because I kicked, because they had
any day in a week, he's mother big mouth. I'll
tell you that.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Oh my god, we have a new winner.
Speaker 6 (19:39):
I mean the build up was amazing.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
Yes, I've never heard that clip, but he confirmed everything
I've ever heard about Tommy Lasoda.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
And that's when baseball was baseball.
Speaker 9 (19:48):
I mean, I gotta tell you I had hit a
one thirty.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
It's a great name. What a name. It is a
great name.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
He was a fine utility player for many, many years
h in Major League Baseball. But that sound sounds as
old as Tommy Lasorda. It's unbelievable. I want to hear
it again.
Speaker 6 (20:09):
Think about it.
Speaker 10 (20:10):
I think that is very, very bad for that man
to make an accusation like that. That is terrible. I
have never, ever since I had managed, ever told a
pitcher to throw it anybody, nor will I ever, And
if I ever did, I certainly wouldn't make him throw
(20:33):
at a one and thirty hitter like Lefe or Abaqua,
who could hit water if he fell out of a boat.
And I guarant to you this. When I pitched and
I was going to pitch against a team that had
guys on it like Thebaqua, I sent a limousine to
get the to make sure he was in the mother
(20:54):
lineup because I kicked that because they had any day
in a week's by the big mouth. I'll tell you that.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
He is shaking his head of discust. I mean not discusting.
It's just confirmation. Like I said, I wasn't.
Speaker 9 (21:12):
While you're saying right, no for comedic timing. Though, the
name Bavaqua.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
Is so good. Yeah, Taylor, you nailed. You were nervous
headed into that name. I could tell. It's like a
speed bump.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
You slowed down a little bit when you when you
first pronounce yeah, Well now you got it.
Speaker 9 (21:29):
Yes, But the first Notre Dame's athletic director's name is
Bavoqua too. I think I think Bavoqua one of the
best last names you could have.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Help of was cutting it up.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
I was nervous headed into that name. Is he did
show me a picture of Garrett call He is right.
It's not humble pie. It's apple pie.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
It's so much pie. It's all just right in the
mid section too.
Speaker 9 (21:50):
Camera adds ten pounds.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
How many cameras were.
Speaker 9 (21:52):
On It's my ace, my thirties right, thirties right.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
The luxuries you have on that seam and the fact
that you did say this is your least yan favorite
Yankee team of all time is absurd. I'm not certain
we should allow them to root for the Yankees the
rest of the way.
Speaker 9 (22:08):
Now, come on, I'm watching every game. We also have
Carlos Rodin coming back on the IL two. But Stu, actually,
the Yankees are plus eighty one in run differential this season, yes,
dominating the rest of the American League combined is minus
one sixty four.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
Jesus gonna he's gonna find a way to love this
team by the end of the season.
Speaker 9 (22:28):
If they're holding a World Series that's about the only way.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
Really, What if they make it to the World Series,
I mean they've been there before.
Speaker 9 (22:35):
This this team we need, we need some urgency. They
they have shown. I will give them credits. Since I
said this is my least favorite team, they have shown
more signs of urgency, the biggest one being Anthony Volpi
coming back from the IL list. And normally the Yankees
of the past would have just inserted Volpi back into
the lineup. Yeah, this Yankee said, hey, Volpi, you're staying
(22:57):
in the miners. Cabairo is doing way too good of
a job at short.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
We have too much talent here. Go to the miners, right.
Speaker 5 (23:03):
I honestly can't believe that our next guest was sitting
court side at a next playoff.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
He was the biggest story in sports last night he was.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
There was two NBA games and two hockey playoff games
going on, and somehow Mike Greenberg was the biggest story
in sports, merely because he was sitting courtside and everyone's like, huh.
Speaker 2 (23:18):

Speaker 12 (24:42):
You know that segment talk about it Tuesday on Hawkman
Crowder in Solero.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
This is like that, but bigger, bigger and better, better, better,
And forty eight hours later, this is think about It Thursday.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
So this is Taylor's attempt to ca under program a
local radio show here in Miami. They do we talk
about it Tuesday, We do a think about It Thursday,
totally different.
Speaker 9 (25:06):
Yes, I've got inside sources too that say, Solana's really
mad that we call them selearro.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
En off of Seleario.
Speaker 9 (25:11):
I mean seriously, So twenty four years ago today, Allen
Iverson had one of the most infamous pressers of all
time where he said, were talking about practice.
Speaker 6 (25:21):
We're talking about practice.
Speaker 9 (25:24):
So today's think about it Thursdays. What is your favorite
postgame or pregame or weekly press conference moment of all
time in sports?
Speaker 3 (25:31):
Wow? Wow, so many to choose from.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
It's a good amount.
Speaker 10 (25:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
Take that for data.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
Data, Take that for data.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
Up there.
Speaker 9 (25:40):
I'm a man, I'm forty man.
Speaker 1 (25:42):
Yeah, Gundy Yeah, and of course Tiger Woods for me.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
I'm a man.
Speaker 6 (25:50):
I'm for.
Speaker 9 (25:52):
U Edwards, herm Edwards. You play to win the game?
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Hello, yes, hell yes. But we're just like, we're just
throwing out things.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Aren't we supposed to be thinking about the greatest press conference?
Speaker 3 (26:04):
This is just.
Speaker 4 (26:07):
Bit of a lazy river here. Take them in data.
If we were competing, I've got the winner.
Speaker 5 (26:13):
Do you what other press conference or postgame situation did
you have one coach tell another coach.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
I'll kill you, Okay.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
John Calipari and John Cheney simple versus UMAs And they
had a shirtless super Skinny Eddie Jones among other players
coming in to break them up because the two coaches
were going to kill each other.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
A couple of jobs cut it up.
Speaker 9 (26:36):
My favorite by far, we have this sound. It was
Coastal Carolina's coach David Bennett the best, wanting his team
to act more like dogs.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
Is it?
Speaker 7 (26:46):
Trying to get our two boys ready to carr him?
The golf tournament full press right twelve Castle Lift, cross Road.
Speaker 6 (26:52):
Our door's open screens broke.
Speaker 7 (26:53):
We need to get a new screen door, but the
screens broke, so you can come in through the screen,
but you.
Speaker 6 (26:57):
Can't get back out of I'll turn to look.
Speaker 7 (26:59):
Their little kitty cat in our in our kitchen, So I.
Speaker 6 (27:03):
Said, what are you doing in here? A little kitty cat?
Speaker 7 (27:05):
By that time a cat turns, tries to get back out,
that scream won't go that way.
Speaker 6 (27:10):
Cat starts going all crazy, and.
Speaker 7 (27:13):
I told our players we need more dogs bows bargaining
in the back out to go shut bow up.
Speaker 6 (27:18):
I was like, what's going on?
Speaker 7 (27:19):
I said, as the cat and house catt in the house,
I said, it is a cat in the house.
Speaker 6 (27:22):
So I told our players. I tried to let it
out the front door.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
Weird cat's still going crazy in there.
Speaker 7 (27:28):
I told our players you needy bit more like a dog.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
We don't need a bunch of cats in here. Looking
in the mirror, I look good. I got my extra
bands on, I got my other's shoes.
Speaker 7 (27:38):
Be a doll.
Speaker 6 (27:40):
We don't need no mowns.
Speaker 7 (27:42):
We don't need no cats.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
We need more dolls. That's a good one.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
I think we found our winner. I mean, that's it.
I mean, what's better than that or worse?
Speaker 6 (27:52):
Yes?
Speaker 9 (27:52):
Overall, I mean David Bennett had a pretty good coaching
career one twenty six and fifty six. Now he hasn't
coached since twenty sixteen, where he was in River Bluff
High School's head coach in South Carolina.
Speaker 5 (28:04):
But I've got short phrases that anybody can identify. Was
a sports press conference and along the lines of practice,
both teams.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
Played hard man Rasheed Wallach. That one was great.
Speaker 5 (28:18):
Yes, I'm just here so I don't get fined. That's
Marshaun Lynch and we're on to Cincinnati.
Speaker 8 (28:27):
What do you got, Dan, Yeah, I've got one. I
don't care if it finishes bronze. But women's basketball, if
you remember Kevin bord Seth. He didn't want to kill
another coach. He wanted to kill the podium that you
could hear when he took to the stage.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
That's right, damn sick and tired of getting it rebounded.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
Twenty five offensive reboults.
Speaker 6 (28:46):
First time we block out.
Speaker 9 (28:47):
We get called front damn blockout for pushing people.
Speaker 8 (28:53):
Now there's more, but you heard the podium slam. I
know we're pressed for time here, but one of my
all time favorites.
Speaker 9 (29:00):
Has anybody mentioned Dennis Green's The Bears.
Speaker 6 (29:04):
That's why we took the damn field.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Yes, did anyone mention Randy Moss straight cash on me quick?
Speaker 4 (29:10):
Yell out the name when I say this one.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
That's my quarterback man to you.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
Oh wow? What about playoffs?
Speaker 4 (29:20):
That one we did?
Speaker 3 (29:21):
Did you? Oh? I'm sorry I missed it. That's a staple.
Speaker 9 (29:25):
I think Cheney. I think Cheney cal Pari is playoffs.
Speaker 6 (29:30):
We couldn't do dittally pooh offensively.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Yeah, you were gonna say Taylor Cheney Calipari.
Speaker 9 (29:37):
I think that's a gold medal. As much as I
love David Bennett, right, it's it's one of those two.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
Yeah, I'm not certain. I mean it might be ivers.
Speaker 5 (29:47):
Hang on a second, did Mike Tyson tell us he
will lead our children?
Speaker 3 (29:50):
He did?
Speaker 4 (29:51):
Okay, I think that's that might be up there as well.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
Multiple times and at the time he said it, I
believe them.
Speaker 8 (29:56):
Kawhy's laugh is giving us uh some fun through as well.
Speaker 5 (30:00):
Technically because it was a post fight interview in the ring.
I broke my back the spinal that's got to be
on the podium on the metal stand.
Speaker 9 (30:09):
If you want to crown him, then crown him.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
But you have to love the coach that comes on
with his own sound effects.
Speaker 10 (30:15):
We're on a Cincinnati.
Speaker 5 (30:16):

Speaker 3 (30:37):
What happened there?
Speaker 4 (30:37):
I had.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
I had a little throat situation, frog in.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
The throat, one of those Yeah, yeah, I tried to
be professional about it.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
We were supposed to have Colin Coward here. I'm sorry
for pointing it out.
Speaker 4 (30:51):
Isn't hope please?
Speaker 1 (30:52):
But we all noticed we were supposed to have Colin
Coward here. He has transportation issues. We hope that he's okay.
I'm being serious. I find yes, but we'll be filling
in for him tomorrow. Unfortunately for Colin. Uh so, you
could expect this tomorrow on Colin Cowherd show.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
A little game we like to call one table.
Speaker 12 (31:14):
There's one table left at the hottest spot in town,
and everybody wants it. Who's getting it and who's getting left? Outside?
Greatness gets seated, everyone else waits. This is one table.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
Did we tell him to sound like that?
Speaker 3 (31:33):
I think, with that accent, what a jackass?
Speaker 9 (31:36):
I think the requests that sound pretentious.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
Yes they did nail it. Yes they deserve a raise.
I mean, whose voice is it?
Speaker 9 (31:47):
I have no no idea.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
A big voice, pop, big voice, pomp.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Sorry sorry for yelling at I'm tired anyway, Go ahead,
Taylor set it up.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Set the table so for.
Speaker 9 (31:57):
People who aren't familiar, there's one table at the hottest restaurant.
Two people walk in we have to decide who gets
the table. Yes, Stu gotts. This one is in Indianapolis.
Speaker 6 (32:08):
Wow.
Speaker 9 (32:08):
Pat McAfee walks in. Wow, and the sheriff Peyton Manning
walks in. Who's getting that table?
Speaker 3 (32:14):
McAfee, Mann Manning, Peyton Manning.
Speaker 9 (32:19):
I don't know. McAfee built his show in Indianapolis.
Speaker 5 (32:23):
He does have a lot of Indianapolis based guest Tyre's
Halliburton's there all the time.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
Yep, he played there.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
I'm gonna say McAfee, I feel like I mean Manning
was a disappointment in Indianapolis. He was and they were
a super Bowl Yeah, but they were expecting six. They
only got one. And then he won one in Denver.
Speaker 5 (32:40):
I mean, is he bringing his son Marshall because that
guy's a star.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
Have you guys seen Marshall Manning.
Speaker 5 (32:47):
No, he's got all of his father's Oh, Mike.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
Marshall man It's amazing Marshall man.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
I have to be honest now, I thought he was
talking about Marshall McAfee.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
No, Marshall Manning. He's got all of his dad's.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
Man.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
He looks exactly like a high school version of Peyton Manning.
Speaker 11 (33:03):
Okay, Stu gotts if I told you, in a weird world,
the Jets could forego all three of their first round
draft picks next year to draft Marshall Manning.
Speaker 6 (33:11):
Yes, a decade from now when he's out done.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Yep, I would right right right the second.
Speaker 4 (33:18):
He's only fifteen right now. What's his name, Marshall Manning, Marshall.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
It is a great name.
Speaker 9 (33:23):
The sheriff gave up the Marshall.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
Yeah, definitely named him.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
He did it like he did it for that reason,
and he named them Marshall us Marshall.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
I think he named him after Eminem.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
We need to find out if he had the nickname
sheriff before or after he named that kid. You know,
it's an odd thing to want to find out.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
I think Peyton gets that table easily.
Speaker 6 (33:48):
Did you, thank you? Thank you?
Speaker 9 (33:49):
You tell boblo to get on it, he said, anytime
you say the word finds out now it's just synonymous
with paba. So we were kind of split there. Let's
try to find more consensus on this next one. Yeah,
this table's in Philadelphia. Brian Dawkins walks in, and then
Alan Iverson walks in.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
Wow, So I think the easy I think people are
thinking that's easy.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
It's Iverson.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
But Brian Dawkins, it's an Eagles town. It's an Eagles town,
football town. They love the Eagles there.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
Dawkins is he represents everything that city loves from a
football standpoint.
Speaker 3 (34:23):
So it's not as easy. And Iverson never won well.
Speaker 5 (34:27):
Iverson also ended his career with the Nuggets and Memphis.
I believe Brian Dawkins also ended his career in Denver, yea,
but he spent more time in Philly. Yeah, I'm saying Iverson. Yeah,
I'm saying Iverson tip.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
I feel like it's.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Pretty because you walk into the restaurant, You're like, hey,
there's Iverson.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
You walk into the restaurant.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
You could guess for you know, till the end of time,
until you get the Brian Dawkins.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
You know.
Speaker 9 (34:49):
Okay, so they just sat Iverson down. But who's that
walking in? Jaws get the table?
Speaker 3 (34:56):
Yes, Iverson gets.
Speaker 5 (34:57):
Up out of respect, Ron Jaworski or Brian Dawkins gets
the other available table.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
That's a difficult question.
Speaker 9 (35:08):
So let's say let's say Iverson gets up, Jaws sits down. Yes,
oh my god, this restaurant. People just keep walking in
South Palantonio, just walked down.
Speaker 4 (35:16):
Get the table.
Speaker 6 (35:17):
Wait so I now he gets up.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
Jaws is sitting and South Pals now walked in a rash.
This is amazing. So sath Pal or Jaws Jaws gets
up for South Pal. He does. Yes, everybody gets up
for yes, right, yes, yes. If you don't, you might
end up in a river.
Speaker 5 (35:32):
I mean Southpal doesn't even like look over his newspaper.
He walks in newspaper in front of him and just
walks straight to the table.
Speaker 9 (35:40):
And then Rocky Balboa walks in. He says, Southpal's here.
You've got to find a new restaurant.
