This is the best of Stu Gotson Company Live on
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Isaiah Thomas could have joined us in about fifteen minutes.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Which one Zeke.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
The great one? We'll ask him? What the hell happened to?
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Is Detroit Pistons, Nix and Calves tonight? Game one at
the Mecca, But no one wants to talk about that.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
Everyone wants to talk about Wemby, Big Wenby. What has
he ever done?
Speaker 3 (00:47):
It's like you saw a glimpse into the future, Yes,
and everything was better than it is now, and then
you got to come back to the past.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
Yeah, to watch the Knicks Calves. It does feel like
the jvtam. Yeah, it really does. Taylor, how you feel
and headed into a big Game one?
Speaker 1 (01:05):
It's not the biggest of the seven game series, That,
of course is Game two, But how do you feel
going into a Game one?
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Here? Calves and Knicks here?
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Because I found myself depressed watching Wemby, I thought to
myself what are we playing the other series for?
Speaker 5 (01:22):
I mean, yeah, So in Dan Buyer's update, he said
og Anenobi was probable. The only thing probable tonight is
we're probably going to open up something on the Cleveland Cavaliers, a.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
Can of something, a canna, you know what.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
But in terms of that game last night, I think
you can make you the argument it's the best game
one of all time. And it feels rare that for
a series with this kind of hype, it surpassed the hype.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
It did so far. For sure, it exceeded the hype.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Put it on the poll. Is that the greatest game
one in the history of the NBA?
Speaker 5 (01:54):
Name another one? Is he I saw you laughing?
Speaker 3 (01:56):
No, no, I was laughing at the little bit of
Italian came out of you there. You're like, forget what
the phrasing was, but a little bit of Italian came
out of here.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
I think I have one, actually, the Michael Jordan's six
threes in the first half against I believe it was
the Portland Trailblazers, wrong one or two, wrong place, wrong time.
I think it was Game one where he shrugged to
Magic Johnson because even Michael couldn't believe. Yeah, even Michael
couldn't believe how hot he was from three.
Speaker 6 (02:24):
So the fact that you couldn't remember who it was
against probably not a good sign that it was a
great game.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
I was going to say it was against the Lakers,
but he shrugged to Magic.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Magic would have been playing, not calling the game.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
So I can think of another big game one Spurs
involved in this one too, Spurs Warriors, the one where
Kawhi had a big lead. I think they were up
twenty five twenty six until Jajah Pacculia slid his foot
under him and turned his ankle and that changed everything.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Wemby went for forty one points twenty four rebounds. They
beat OKC in Game one on the road, which is
absolutely amazing when you consider that OKC eight no in
the playoffs headed into that game. Wemby is young, that
team is young, They're without darn Fox, and still they
get the game one victory over Oklahoma City.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
Yes, Taylor Ricardo just nominated Sixers Lakers in two thousand
and one was a great game.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
One that Pamber game. How was that? That game? Was
that the game the Sixers won in LA.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
One game in the series.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
Yeh, Yes, And then they lost in five gentlemen sleep
if there ever was one.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
They lost the next four. That was Iverson in Matumbo,
that team, right, correct.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
The thing that I love about Wemby speaking of Matumbo
like the mythology of sports, right, where it's just like
you're supposed to build your way up and you're supposed
to sort of check these boxes on the way to
your greatness. Right, you're supposed to want it worse than
everybody else.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
He doesn't seem interested in checking boxes.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
No, right, No, he does very fast. Yeah, just checking
them off, all of them in one postseason, right, and
you're looking at like his You know what they say
about Lebron, right, wouldn't a killer? Didn't have a killer?
And staning dada YadA. What Wemby is showing you so
far at every stage where the stakes get higher and higher,
it feels like he's giving you more and more. And
(04:10):
last night, for example, you knew he wanted it. You
knew he wanted it in front of that crowd because
SGA was winning the MVP and obviously it's it's the
defending champ and it's the next round of the playoffs,
and some would say it's the final round. Some would
say this is the finals, right, so he wanted it
all and then delivered for you on the first chance
(04:30):
he got yes, And it's just that's you don't normally
see that. You've got to see people climb the ladder.
You've got to see Lebron James struggle against Detroit for
a couple of years in a row before he finally
breaks through.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Right, he does it in a way that's spectacular.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
I mean, really, the youngest player ever are to go
forty and twenty in a playoff game.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
I mean, it's absurd, is he what we're watching?
Speaker 1 (04:50):
To have a guy who has that kind of length,
but has that kind of athletic ability and could pull
up from the logo and hit a big game tying
three late in the game and shoot it with a
form of Steph Curry.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
He's not pushing it.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
That is a natural shot for Victor Webbin Yamas.
Speaker 4 (05:07):
It's remarkable to watch it, really is. Well.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
The funny part is is I was saying about to
myself really about his size advantage. Yes, there is no
competition for that, literally, I mean chitt Holmgren is not
his size, and yet people think that's his competition. Right,
so you could throw the ball up there and make
it look like, you know, an adult playing against a
bunch of five year olds, and he can just don't
(05:31):
get every single time. If that's only who Victor Webbin
Yama was, it'd be like, man, that's crazy. That's such
an advantage to have in the NBA. And then it's
like you're saying, he pulls up for threes anywhere, and
he wasn't doing it a whole lot in this game,
but he can pull up from three from anywhere, and
he absolutely owns the game when he's on defense, like
owns the game. I know I've had this conversation with
(05:52):
you before about like we were kind of criticizing him.
I was saying, look, defense is not half of basketball.
It's just not with him.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
It might be with.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Him, it might be that big of a factor every
single time down the court where SGA is thinking with
the ease that I know I can score normally, that's
how difficult it is for me. Now, Victor absolutely changes
the game.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
He might not block the shot, but he makes you think.
And that's important. Like the fact that those guys who
are never thinking on Oklahoma City because everything's come so
easily and naturally to them.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
They're out there thinking.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
You could see them thinking should I take it to
the rack or not because they don't know if that
guy's going to be there.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
Yeah, Taylor, that's.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
The enjoyment that I watch this series with where all
season we kind of talk about the Oklahoma City Thunder
like they're the big bad boogeyman, and then once they
go up against Victor wembin Yama and now the Spurs
are five and one, including the regular season against this
Thunder team, You're seeing the Thunder who are normally bullying everybody,
being like, we can't even get within eight feet of
(06:51):
the basket because we're so worried about this seven foot
four guy swatting our shot into the tenth row.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
And he's asking for all of it. He's asking for
all the pressure. He's asking for you to demand it
of him because he's basically saying, look, I'm going to
do this, and I want to play this sound from
after the game, where it's basically the reporter setting up
the question saying, hey, did you feel this?
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Did you feel this?
Speaker 3 (07:12):
And Vic just confirming what we all wanted him to say.
Speaker 5 (07:16):
Knowing that Shay had got that award and you were
in the top three for it, and you know, did
any part of tonight feel personal? Some of your facial
expressions kind of look like you were really really going
for it.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
Yeah, for sure. Everything you just said, everything, all of it,
all of it.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
That's why he was laughing at SGA after he got
a rebound and SGA with looked afraid to shoot it.
That's why after he blogged Jalen Williams, he's posing like
he's like, I don't know, being painted by somebody, you know,
five hundred years ago. Like he is absolutely wanting it.
And I guess what do you call that? Ramaxing Taylor?
Because he is absolutely showing you as he's doing it.
(07:52):
Look at me. I'm doing everything I told you I
was going to do, and I'm doing it against the
defending champs and this other seven foot and I'm.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
Doing it all the without d Aaron Fox.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
Webbin Yama was the star of the game for sure.
The other person that I thought really showed out was
the rookie Dylan Harper, where he becomes just the second
rookie with twenty points, ten rebounds, five assists, five steals
in a playoff game, joining Magic Johnson. But Stu, my
question for you. Yeah, he's Ron Harper's son. If Ron
Harper could go back in time, do you think he
would have named Dylan Harper Ron Harper Junior and Ron
(08:24):
Harper Junior Dylan Harper.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
I think if you asked Ron that this morning, he
absolutely would have opted for Ron Harper junior.
Speaker 5 (08:30):
Yes, poor Ron Harper Junior on the Celtics, like G
League team. He's like, man, yeah, my dad really wishes
he named my brother.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
I think Dan Byer wants to get in here.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
But Taylor, weren't you redrafting the twenty twenty five draft before?
Speaker 4 (08:45):
Were you doing something? What were you doing before? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (08:47):
So I'm working on the twenty twenty five redraft right now.
The Mavericks are on the clock. I'll let you know
who they pick it.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
So it's not Cooper Flagg.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
It might be, it might be, it might not be.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
On the clock.
Speaker 7 (08:58):
He just said it the thing that I loved, And
I'm glad you guys talked about Wemby's defense because that
was the story I thought in the first half of
GI just of Oklahoma City settling. But there's so many
games within the games, So Wemby plays all but what
seven minutes last night? So the minutes that like Luke
Cornett's in the game, You're like, wow, Oklahoma City better
(09:19):
make their hay right now. Like there's just the little
things like that, of like, all right, can they take
advantage of Wemby just being on the bench for a
four minute spurt? It made last night so entertaining in
so many different ways. And Jalen Williams return, I mean,
he's gassed. He's playing a double overtime game in his
first game in a month. Last night just had everything
(09:39):
I am told. The pick is in?
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Is he okayhead Taylor?
Speaker 5 (09:42):
Yes, The Dallas Mavericks, with the number one pick in
the twenty twenty five NBA Redraft have selected Dylan Harper
Ron Harper Junior. The San Antonio Spurs are now on
the clock.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Spurs are getting the number two pick's hed dyland hyper
last year.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
But wait, so the Spurs are gonna get Cooper Flag.
You never know, I can go nipple. All right, Well,
we'll come back to you in a second.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
To get the second pick in the twenty twenty five
draft that has already happened. Well, tell me what the
pick is on the clock. Isaiah Thomas going to join
us here in just a second. Watching that as a
Nick fan, it was depressing because I'm excited about the Knicks.
They play the Cavs Game one tonight. Everyone thinks that
series is going to be over in five or six games.
But I was depressed as a Nick fan because even
(10:34):
if they get to the NBA Finals and if that
guy gets there, I said earlier, I wanted Oklahoma City.
I still do because I don't want to face San Antonio,
And so I was depressed as a Knick fan watching
that gameless.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Well, I'm just gonna quote Taylor's friend from a text
that he exchanged. Nobody's thinking about the next sight now.
Nobody was thinking about the Knicks last night. Nobody's thinking like,
if you're a Knicks fan and you're sitting there envisioning
the matchup between Karl Anthony Towns and Victor wibin Yama,
You're going to drive yourself into a deep depression.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
This is very exciting. The draft is moving quickly. The
second pick is in. Let's go to Taylor with the
second pick. The San Antonio Spur select Konkoin Nipple.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Wow, do need better shooting around Wemby.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
Who has the third pick?
Speaker 5 (11:20):
The Philadelphia Sixers now on the clock.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
Wow, they might get Coop.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
They already have a year of experience with Edgecomb, so
maybe they want to draft him again.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
I might take Edgecombe. I might stick with him. Who
has the fourth pick in the draft?
Speaker 5 (11:34):
The Hornets?
Speaker 4 (11:35):
Oh wow.
Speaker 2 (11:38):

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Rust is up one game to nothing, must win for
Rest tonight? Huge? Yes? Huge?
Speaker 3 (12:16):
I mean how long were they thunder off for a week?
Speaker 4 (12:19):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (12:19):
And so and they obviously looked rusty. So if the
Knicks do not take advantage of their rest tonight. I
think Rest has to take a few years off.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Yeah, Taylor, how you feeling. We're headed into a big
game one tonight at the Mecca.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
How you feeling? Huh?
Speaker 5 (12:31):
This is a big week for Rest versus Rust, because
I'm also looking at game one of the Canadians Hurricanes
on Thursday.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
I can't remember the last time the Hurricanes played hockey.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
Yeah a minute.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
They won eight straight, much like Oklahoma City did until
last night, until one became.
Speaker 5 (12:48):
They finished the series against the Flyers like three weeks ago.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
It feels like, yes, Martelly was on with us. Brenda
Moore just waiting around. That is so good.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
All right, let's get to the fleme bomb from yesterday.
Go ahead, Tailor set this up. The guys want to
make fun of me, and they have every reason to,
so go ahead.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
This was with Mike Breen, I believe yesterday.
Speaker 5 (13:10):
Yeah exactly. So this is with Mike Breen. Stu Gotts
is trying to clarify what Mike Breen. We're looking for
a mount rushmore of w F a gestation in New York.
But this is Stugotts trying to power through it all.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Right, So I'm going to guess I'm guessing Mike Breens.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
That was me choking on my own flem. I just
got off a flight.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
The flight has nothing to do with it, nothing to
do with anything, and I was.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
Three hours removed from said flight.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Oh god, So I'm going to guess I'm guessing Mike Breens.
Oh God, I wasn't ready for it again, I was
bathing in it.
Speaker 4 (13:51):
Do you have it isolated? Like do you have just
the flemebomb isolated?
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Guessing Mike Breens, that's hard to Breen texted me afterwards
and said, are you okay?
Speaker 3 (14:04):
We're still not sure? The hurricanes last plate on May fourth?
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Oh my god, let's let's hear my flew one more Breens,
the expanded version.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
So I'm gonna guess I'm guessing Mike Breens.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Oh God, Jesus, that's like a voice like distorder.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
Yes, Dan, has that ever happened to you?
Speaker 7 (14:30):
Quite often during updates? In fact, not even during interviews
where I can bail out.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
You are far too professional for that to ever happen
to you. It's that Mikey is agreed, Mikey, That's never
happened to Dampire, right.
Speaker 6 (14:43):
That's absolutely never happened to I'm not sure that's happened
to any other human.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Many sound like that much.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
Yeah, sounded like you're gargling mid sentence.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
You also could probably take a break from those cigarettes.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Well, it leads me right into the compromising position that
I have put Israel Goody Era in today. Think of
all that just the way we know Iszy Okay, he
is a physical specimen. He has a trainer just for
his legs.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
It's a great sentence for each leg. Yeah, yeah, for
each leg. Now you're thinking.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
He goes to the gym three or four times a day.
I mean if he took his shirt, I am telling
you he is chiseled. Okay, So he eats healthy. He
does all the right things from a health standpoint, most
of the right things. So think about the most compromising
position one could possibly put Israel in when asking is
he to do a favor for them? Hey, can you
(15:39):
pick something up for me, Mikeye, go ahead, I'll start
with you. What is the most compromising thing you could
ask Israel booty Eras to.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
Do that would bring him maximum amount of shame. I'll
give you.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
I'll give you an answer, Mikey Yeah, send me to
pick up anything in an auto parts store.
Speaker 4 (15:59):
Damn mbuyer wants to chime in here, what do you
got to Yeah?
Speaker 7 (16:02):
Can you get me the bogo at Burger King with
the original chicken sandwich and a large doctor pepper.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
That would be great. Sadly that's one of them, but
not number one.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
I'm not ordering extra cheese on anything for anybody.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
Yeah, tell you want to take a stab at it.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
I think I could guess it because I feel like
this is how I got my start at meatow Lark.
When Stu Gotts would walk in and he would just
look at me at the door and be like, hey,
you work here. I'm like yeah, and he's like, here's
one hundred dollars. Go to the nearest store and buy
me some cigarette.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
La in a second, you owe me eighty bucks. Then stude,
I gave you a twenty. You didn't ask for change.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
You didn't give me a hundred. I gave Viya twenty.
He said, those are eleven ninety nine. I owe you money,
and I said, listen, I would have paid twenty four,
so it doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
Just take it. I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
The experience wasn't like embarrassing because everybody smoked cigarettes. It
was just nerve wracking because there's so many cigarettes and
I just don't know of him any at the right ones.
Like he told me all the words. It was like
this and this and this number and short and tall,
and I was like, all right, just repeat it one
more time because I'm just gonna spit it back out
and hope they get the right one.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
I said, the normal silvers, okay, not the one hundreds.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
That's where I draw the line, a right, trying to
be healthy.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
No, Mikey, he did it at a gas station.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Just I want you to imagine the Israel goody eras
that we have all known, that we have come to
love and respect very much, walking into a Marathon gas
station and ordering a pack of Marlborough Silvers shorts.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
Like I swear they're not for me.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
There's a real flemy guy over there down the street.
I just got off a plane.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
The first time I ever bought cigarettes before. Thank you
Stu gats really enriching my life with an experience I've
never had before.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
How did it feel?
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Like I said, it was very nerve wracking, confusing, But
I thought, you know, once I knew that I did
the right thing, that I got the right box felt great.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
Did you feel like you were being judged? Because I
often do. I mean because like I've had people say
to me, hey, what are you doing? Like no one
smokes anymore.
Speaker 3 (18:11):
I think everybody in that gas station at the moment
probably smoked.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
Yes, So it wasn't a big deal. If it's a marathon,
it's not a sprint because you can't.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
Winded.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Don't send me into a Victoria's Secrets.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
I'll be lost.
Speaker 8 (18:29):
Those two lungs would collapse. You'll never wake on a sprint.
I can't remember the last time I sprint. We're ran
for that matter, we're exercise period.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
Thanks forgetting the miss.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
Live WHEKDA said three pm Eastern, twelve pm Pacific.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
Ragonfly Jon's gonna join us in about fifteen minutes. I
say that name, and every time I say it, Taylor
starts laughing.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
It sounds ridiculous coming out of my mouth.
Speaker 8 (19:00):
Is Tyler?
Speaker 4 (19:01):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Dragonfly Jones is his name. That's what he goes by.
Does it sound ridiculous? Is real goods? Every time I
say Dragonfly joke.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
It soundsguous when you say just the dragonfly fire Like
You're not going to refer to him as dragonfly?
Speaker 4 (19:14):
Are you? I am?
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Yes, right, yes, so yeah, Well Mikey, what are you
shaking your head about? It's embarrassing.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
I mean, it's a little weird.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
It's a little weird here somebody who's dragonfly?
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Okay, I mean people refer to me as Stugatts. That's weird.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
My daughters do, yeah, I guess. Uh.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
Anyway, this is very exciting. Uh and again, Dragonfly Jones
good to join us. In about fifteen minutes, we'll get
back to the NBA and Victor Webbin Yama bub. We
have a game around here called is It Just Me?
Speaker 8 (19:45):
Or?
Speaker 4 (19:45):
And now we have a spin off up.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
Said game courtesy of Israel Goody Aires. The name of
the game is I'm sorry, but.
Speaker 4 (19:57):
Oh you like that? Is there imaging for the this game?
Let's just use the same imaging as is It Just Me?
Speaker 9 (20:03):
Or?
Speaker 5 (20:03):
We got different imaging? Wow, imaging?
Speaker 4 (20:07):
Wow, you guys didn't see this coming. How'd you know?
I mean, wow, he's a little more modern. I like it. Yeah,
your kind of music? Did I get espresso martini?
Speaker 8 (20:21):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (20:21):
Man?
Speaker 5 (20:22):
Is you started so we could get the idea of this.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Is definitely a brunch like lobby track.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Don't you dare tempt Israel with a good time, Mike
he ageez.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
I'm sorry, but yeah, can somebody please tell Reggie Miller
that he can't say oh, he can say it, but
not to say also too all the time? Oh my god,
it's so infuriating.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
You can just.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
Say also, man, just say also. But it's almost like
he takes pride in the also too, like it's his thing.
And I find it as somebody who you know, loves
grammar find it maddening, maddening every time he says it,
and he's taking it as his like pet thing.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
It feels like and like if I'm just gonna pull
on this string.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
Why did we grant Reggie Miller a lifetime of color
commentary when he wasn't even that great of a player, Like,
come on, well, you welcome to our.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Side taking out Reggie Miller. I mean, you're not gonna
like to do this to people, but come on.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Yeah, but you're doing it right now, and I'm so
proud of you. I mean, one moment was shot, one
moment Hall of Fame.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
I mean, I mean, Jamal Crawford is just gonna say it.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
He's better.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
He's better than Reggie Miller.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
What he's doing right now?
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Jay Crossover, Yeah, I mean Reggie making the series all
about himself. He inserts himself into every sery, I understand
Pacers and Knicks. Why are you inserting yourself into a
series in which he never played for either team?
Speaker 4 (21:42):
What does he do?
Speaker 3 (21:43):
We also two, he does that also too.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Next person, let's go to Mikey A and Mikey Yeah,
you have one here. I'm sorry, Bud a spin off
of Is It just Me? Or what a ridiculous show?
Go ahead, I love it.
Speaker 6 (21:58):
I'm sorry, but enough moving all these NFL events all
the way all around, Like, we don't need the Draft
in Minneapolis. We didn't need it in Pittsburgh. We didn't
need it in Detroit. We don't need the super Bowl
in cold weather places. The Draft belongs in New York,
and the super Bowl belongs in Miami or LA or
Tampa because it bothers.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Izzy, we don't.
Speaker 6 (22:18):
Need it in all these places.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
Yeah, I'm sorry. Put Nashville.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
Yes, there's a billboard for Tampa. It says not that
far away. I said, that yesterday. If it was in
my backyard, I wouldn't visit Tampa.
Speaker 4 (22:29):
I do.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
I'm intrigued by Nashville. I think Nashville will be a
good spot for the Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
I did sure, that's one of the places that it
should be.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
Yeah, East Coast, the draft doesn't need to move.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
I was asking, the draft doesn't need to move East
Coast time? Or were we an hour back there? What's
going on? Hey? Question? No, that's central time. Nashville's central time.
Speaker 6 (22:47):
They go, oh, seven hundred thousand people showed up to
the draft.
Speaker 9 (22:50):
You know what.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
You never hear anybody go, yeah, it was a good time.
Put it on the pole, Taylor.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Has anyone ever walked away from the NFL Draft saying
they had a good time?
Speaker 5 (23:02):
I got one got I'm sorry, But Yankees catcher Austin
Wells having one hundred and ten at bats and five
RBIs is absolutely pathetic.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
That sounds terrible. Yeah, this is Austin Wells. Where's he
from again? Republic of Dominica, Republic's catcher. It just sounds
so Dominican.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
I often forget and me saying Dragonfly Jones sounds ridiculous.
Speaker 5 (23:29):
He's from Scottsdale, Arizona.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
Of course he is, Yes, like a proud Dominican.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
Like Dante di Vicenzo.
Speaker 5 (23:36):
Four percent of your at bats you have an RBI.
That's so pathetic.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
Levotar kept calling him the Italian kid. He's from Ohio, somewhere.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
Delaware, whatever, same thing, same thing.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Does bort Opricardo have one? Or does he watching baseball today?
Speaker 5 (23:53):
He does not have one?
Speaker 4 (23:54):
Wow? Yeah, I'm big Marlins four o'clock game. I think
EP Jason has what I'm told. This is very exciting.
Go ahead, EP Jason.
Speaker 9 (24:01):
I'm sorry, but for the conference finals and the NBA Finals,
could there be a law against alternate jerseys? There were
two traditional road jerseys on the court last night, and
I need traditional whites for home, traditional roads for the roads,
traditional homes for the homes, traditional roads for the roads.
(24:21):
Just for these conference finals and NBA Finals. You can
make a joke of the game throughout the entire regular season,
but keep my product consistent to how I grew up.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
I'm sorry, but.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
That's when I knew the Pistons were going to lose
Game seven. How do you wear your road blues at
a home game seven?
Speaker 1 (24:42):
I'm sorry, but I'm sorry, but Israel Goudy Aeras is
turning into me right in front of our hour our eyes.
Speaker 3 (24:53):

The Pro the Week goes to Victor Wembinyamo, of course,
after leading the spur of the moment, I mean jeez,
and had the forty one point and twenty four rebounds
and then went over the thunder in the first game
of the Western Conference Finals last night. Congrats wenby another award.
You are the Express pros Pro of the Week.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
I have to agree with you. Guys.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Me saying Dragonfly Jones sounds ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
I think even Tyler kind of looked at you funny.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Yeah, well, well Taylor did for certain Tyler was as well.
Tyler's his real name. Yes, I am told that there
is a softball update here and we have Nix Hawks
Game one A Nick Hawks Knicks cav Game one. I
am a nervous wreck. I am depressed because I watched
Wemby last night. I feel like the next now don't
(25:53):
have a chance. But is he I am told I
don't care about the NBA right now, because I am
told there was a gritty performance in a softball game
in a league that you and Taylor play in sparingly.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Well, I'll start here. I'll give you my personal update.
I did not show really.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
There were plenty of people available. Was that the gritty performance?
Speaker 3 (26:13):
I mean, well, we'll see, we'll get Let Taylor tell
you the rest of it. But I was, as you sed,
you got glued to the NHL playoffs. Oh then he
could not get me off the couch, and then obviously
staying there. It was a nine pm start. That it's terrible,
and the Spurs and Thunder was an eight thirty start.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
So you know what, I'm gonna go ahead.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
We're starting softball games after we start the NBA finals.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
Christ got the prime time slot last night.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
So what happens.
Speaker 5 (26:38):
So you're saying it's a gritty performance, I'm saying it's
the grittiest softball performance in the history of softball.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Really, how could softball get gritty?
Speaker 5 (26:48):
I mean, my gosh, we go into the last inning,
down twelve to six the away team. Yeah, so we're
first up. Everybody on our team through ten gets a hit.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
Wow, so I believe you started.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
You got your four of your six runs in the
first inning, and then it was just a bunch of
you know, pretty empty and then this finally.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
Yes, so everyone came up to play and got a hit.
Speaker 5 (27:14):
Everybody we bat we bat around, Yes, Mikey.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
So so does that mean you're off the schnide. That
means that means his first career hit.
Speaker 5 (27:22):
No, he wasn't there, established Mikey. Me and Ian are talking.
Me and my room at Ian are talking. I'm over
too at this point, and I'm like, dude, I might
have to wear like the golden thong that Yankees used
to have to wear to break out of their slumps.
I get up with runners on first and second, nice
little seeing eye single, keep the rally going. Now we're
(27:42):
down three bases loaded our leadoff hitter, Tony. I switched
the lineup up.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Is he that's my gay?
Speaker 5 (27:48):
I went with an analytic lineup for this game, and
a lot of people were questioning, saying, hey, your analytic
lineup kind of stinks. Through four innings, first inning.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
You look like a genius. Hold on, let's pause for
a second. Who said that? Like someone on the opposing
team actually pointed this out.
Speaker 5 (28:02):
People people in attendance were like, Wow, he's going with
the analytic line.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
Who was in attendance. They were holding signs of it everywhere.
Speaker 5 (28:09):
He went analytic today.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Well, you had thirty three thousand last night of the Bark.
Speaker 5 (28:13):
So we're down three Tony's bases loaded right?
Speaker 4 (28:16):
Why Tony first left? Just out of curiosity?
Speaker 5 (28:19):
Tony's a lefty. He's gonna put the ball in play. Yes,
he's he's gonna he's gonna speed. Yes, good speed, Tony.
Well Mac, Yes, So our our strategy has put the
two guys on. The first two leadoff guys are guys
who get on, and then the third kid on our
team is the kid who just hits home runs.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
Okay, so they set the plate right.
Speaker 5 (28:37):
So Tony is up down three bases loaded right inside
the park, grand slam.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
Wow, why you put Tony in the one spot?
Speaker 5 (28:48):
I mean, we score seven runs, we're up thirteen to twelve.
We're going in the field. We go out. Our pitcher
did a great job, but we switched aj to pitcher
aj slightly slightly better of a picture. We get to
two outs runners on first we're still up thirteen twelve.
Ball gets hit to our third baseman. Yeah, he makes
an error. He makes an error. The tying run scores.
(29:12):
Now have they get bases loaded? Two outs?
Speaker 4 (29:15):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (29:16):
A pop fly goes to Ian and left field, and
everybody knows ian struggles are very well off.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
He's in left field because you're trying to not have
the ball hit to Ian.
Speaker 5 (29:25):
Yes, no, he so we had a bad first game,
but Ian has turned a corner of defense. But now
you could see his legs start buckling when this pop
up comes, and if he drops it, the game's over.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
Jesus christ Ian squeezes it.
Speaker 5 (29:40):
Third out. We're all looking at each other because now
it's thirteen thirteen and the ump goes time and everybody's
like what. And we were like, oh, we'll pay you
whatever your hourly rate is, we'll pay you to play
a extra inning. He's like no, and we go, Okay,
let's pick two guys, one from each team. Home run derby.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
Wollow that's my rule, yes too.
Speaker 5 (30:00):
The only reason I pitched that is because our number
three batter only hits home runs.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
I love that.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
Yes, the umpire looks at us and goes, Nope, this
is game.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
It's a tie.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
You know what I learned to I still can't win
without me. Tig times we won, Yeah, I was there.
They can only tie when you're not there.
