Speaker 1 (00:20):
We are five and a half hours away from the
biggest game in the history of games, Game three of
the NBA Finals, the Mecca Nix and Spurs Nix up
two games to nothing. Israel goodieres is making me nervous
by trying to calm me down. Is he just tell
me it's gonna be okay? Because listen, time cannot go.

(00:43):
It's moving very slowly right now. Yeah, I need to
get to this game. I am nervous because of how
the last game ended. I'm nervous because of Wemby. I'm
nervous because that guy is not going to sweat any
of this. And I'm nervous because I keep thinking about,
rather than the next winning an NBA championship. I am
wondering what the reaction is going to be if the

(01:03):
Knicks end up blowing a two nothing series lead. Headed
back home to Madison Square guarded, I am focused on
the wrong things.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Please soothe me.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
Well, I could soothe you, but I wrote down exactly that.
I wrote down a list of if the Knicks win,
meaning the series, and if they lose, and man, it
feels like that if they lose, it's just so much
more entertaining. Like I definitely want to at least check
in on if somebody paid seven figures for a ticket

(01:31):
for either Game four or three or even six. If
it gets there and the Knicks end up losing, I
want to talk to those people see how their lives
are going. I'm also curious if they win, Taylor, I
think you're probably the best person to ask this. If
they win, does it then make all other Knicks playoff
highlights not matter, like completely irrelevant, like the four point

(01:55):
play LJ. Is it not a thing anymore because they
got close?

Speaker 5 (01:58):
Yeah, they didn't do anything.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
I answer on Taylor's behalf it all goes away from
me really, yes, So it's all.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
These finals highlights if they win it and then secondary
you have other Nicks highlights.

Speaker 6 (02:09):
Yes, okay, And I'll answer on behalf of all Knicks fans.
It doesn't go away?

Speaker 5 (02:12):
No, no, it does it does?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
I mean tell me the next time if they win
an NBA title, the next time you'll see Alan Houston shot.
I mean the next time you'll see Larry Johnson shot.
You won't see it. You'll see Wemby missing that the
elbow jumper more than you'll see any sort of Nick
highlights from the past. I'm serious about that. You're not
soothing me, though, I'm sorry.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
I feel like Taylor had something more on that stuff.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Ticket prices are also plummeting for some reason. Ticket I
saw a ticket on a third party site that was
thirty five hundred and STU. I've been holding strong saying,
you know what, I'm not spending this money. I'm not
spending this money. The tickets are dropping into a range
where I'm at least considering it. But at this point,
even if somebody handed me thirty five hundred dollars, I

(02:57):
think I would just put that thirty five hundred dollars
wards Championship NBA Finals merch, because you'd be surprised how
quick one thousand dollars in championship merch goes. Once you
get a Jose Alvarado, Karl Anthony Towns, and Landry shamat.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Jersey, oh my god, he's going to come back draped
in Nick's gear for the rest of time.

Speaker 5 (03:15):
That's gonna look great.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
I just love that.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
If someone handed him thirty five hundred dollars today, it
wouldn't be spent on the ticket. It wouldn't be spent
on you know, perhaps you know, put it in a
savings account, maybe buy some stocks, you know, a CD something.
Now he's going to go buy more Nick merch. This
coming from the man who suitcase when he traveled from
Florida to New York only had Nick jerseys in it.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
I meant party.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Yeah, he'd have toothpaste and.

Speaker 6 (03:41):
Going back to Fort Lauderdale. I'm gonna to check it back.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
So the plummeting ticket prices, I'm glad you brought that up, Taylor.
That has to be because of the annoyance of getting
there right Like if you were to have a ticket, Taylor,
I think you have to show up right now at
three eastern in order to get through those doors in time.

Speaker 6 (04:00):
Yeah, there's a worry there where the Knicks are doing
a strict no bag policy because of the President's attendance.
But where the worry comes, I don't know. If you
guys have been following this. Carl Anthony Towns's fiance, Jordan Woods,
has a lucky bag that she brings to games, and
now Knicks fans are saying, hold on a second, you're

(04:20):
saying there's a strict no bag policy. Does Karl Anthony
Towns have to be the one who brings his bag
through his security and then he hands it over to
Jordan Woods? What happens if security sees Jordan Woods with
the bag? It's there's a lot of things going on
right now, a lot of plates being spun. We need
Jordan Wood's bag in Madison, so it.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
Has to be in the garden.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Yes, it has to be in the garden. And for me,
it has to be brought in by Jordan Woods, not
Karl Anthony Town's, not anyone else.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Just Jordan Woods.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
I mean, seriously, if anyone has earned a bag exception,
it should be Jordan Woods.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Is that fair? I mean, of.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Course, you know, it bugs me that all of these
things are changing when the Knicks get home because of
this guy.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
Who's that I mean, is he even a New Yorker?

Speaker 3 (04:58):
I don't even know.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
And yeah, I just look, I just think there's so
much about tonight that is just unpredictable. You don't know
how and this is going to I don't know if
this is going to soothe you, Stu, but you don't
know how Victor Weinbinyama's going to bounce back from that
particular horrible ending for him, those last couple of plays
in that game. You don't know how the building is
going to affect either team. You don't know how any

(05:22):
of this is really going to go. And so it
even though the Knicks are up to oh, it feels
like the least stable up two oh in the finals
that I've ever heard, that I've ever seen, I've experienced,
because even that O two that the heat went down
and O six that I was covering, it felt like
that was over.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
And they lost both those games on the road.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Yes, again, not soothing me at all.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
I mean, mikey A, I'm asking for some soothing and
he is really painting a picture. The Knicks are up
to oh, they're headed back home to the most famous
arena in all of sports anywhere in the world. And
yet somehow is he has made me more nervous than
I was before.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
We started the show, right, well, because what's more likely
that Michale Bridges continues to shoot about seventy five percent
from the field, or that Wemby starts to shoot seventy
five they.

Speaker 6 (06:07):
Won thirteen streets.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
I mean, for crying out loud, go ahead, Mike, Yeah, sorry, No.

Speaker 7 (06:12):
I'm just wondering if the Spurs were up too oh,
because he would be like, I don't.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Know this happens, And if this happens, that.

Speaker 5 (06:20):
The Spurs are up two, oh, this series wouldn't have started.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
No, all they would have done is hold serf.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
I mean that's the Knicks broke serve twice, and that
is he is still making me nervous and somehow is
convinced me this game is more important for the Knicks
than it is for the San Antonio Spurs.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
Well, I mean, if they go up three to zero,
it's definitely over.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Oh, thank you.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
With watch parties being canceled outside Madison Square Garden and
all this extra security going in politics aside, if your
presence at a game is this big of an inconvenience
towards said fan base that you say you root for,
I don't think you could really claim to be a
fan of that team where where you're making fans to

(06:59):
jump through oops to even go to this game.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
Right, So like if the Bulls were in the finals
when Barack Obama was president, he just would have watched
from home, is what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Percent for the greater good of the fan?

Speaker 5 (07:11):
Yes, right, yes, let Jordan Woods have her bag.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
One percent agree with you? Go ahead.

Speaker 7 (07:16):
I'm going to push back on this one because I
have a feeling that if Taylor had the option of
going and inconvenienced a thousand other people, ten thousand other people,
he's like, no, I'm going to the game.

Speaker 8 (07:27):
No.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Shut well.

Speaker 6 (07:28):
First off, First off, the ticket prices to get into
Madison Square Garden. Yeah, ridiculous, Yeah, ridiculous. Already that the
normal fans are getting priced out. So what do they have.
They have these organic gatherings outside where at first the
NYPD said, you guys can't do these, they're getting too rowdy,
and the fans said, hey, we'll scale these back a little,

(07:49):
we won't get as rowdy. We want to gather right
outside the arena, And since then there's been no problems.
If me going to a game was going to inconvenience
tens of thousands of people of my favorite team, there's
zero chance I would go to that game and being
inconvenience to everybody.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Yeah, we're all calling bs on that.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
While you were talking there, Taylor, Stu Gattz vehemently pointed
at the TV, super excited.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Because Jeremy Lynn was on it.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
He said, he said earlier when we saw Al Harrington
on the TV that, man, they're just pulling Knicks from anywhere.
If you spent a minute on a Knicks team, you
are getting national TV time today.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
When you think of Al Harrington, which team do you
think of? Me?

Speaker 1 (08:33):
So, Colin, No, because everyone's trying to get on the
Knicks bandwagon and find someone who's close to the Knicks
or played for a minute for the New York Knicks.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
He had Al Harrington. I mean Jeremy Lynn, I understand.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
And by the way, you'll never see a Jeremy Lynn
highlight again if the Knicks pull this off.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Lyn, sanity done, Taylor.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
But I do love how people in the media are
trying to because they want to be a part of
this great story, the New York Knicks, this lovable underdog
from the biggest market in the country. They are willing
to put on anyone, and I mean anyone who had
a cup of coffee with a New York Knick, which is.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
What he had.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
He had two seasons with the Knicks. He had six
seasons to start his career with Indiana. He is definitely
a pacer before he's a Nick.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
So for me, Stu, the line is pretty simple. If
you played for the Knicks, I think of you as
a Nick. I think so so Channing Fry, Zach Randolphe,
Nate Robinson, Daniel Gallinari Wilson, Chandler, Chris Douhan, Tracy. You
could even stretch You could stretch it out even further
Stevie franchise if.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
You spent once, Yes, I got it once. A Nick.
Oh he's a Nick. I get what you're saying.

Speaker 6 (09:39):
Yes, Katino Mobley got traded to the Knicks and never
played a game because he had a pre uh heart
condition that got uh seen in his physical so he
he never even dressed for the Knicks. Katino Mobley to me,
nick legend.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Yeah if they lose though, he's not right. I mean.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
He's all over the place it Stevie franchise. While you're
at it, Yeah, where are you watching the game tonight?
Tell you wanted to go to New York City because
you wanted to be around the city, around the Mecca.
And I understand why because it's fun right now in Manhattan?

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Are you Are you going to be near the game
anywhere near the game tonight?

Speaker 6 (10:16):
I'm going to be in Manhattan at a bar with
friends at some version of a watch party. My only
requirement that I asked everybody is can you check with
the bar if they have game audio. I don't need
a DJ spinning ones and tubes on the track.

Speaker 3 (10:29):
I need it.

Speaker 6 (10:30):
I need to hear Mike Breen Taylor.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
But during your commercials though, right then you hit the music.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
I love the bars that are so good on their timing,
where as soon as the commercial comes on, it's just
a banger.

Speaker 9 (10:41):
Ye.

Speaker 6 (10:43):
So that's the key is I need to see proof
of concept and that you have this timing down, because
if I'm trusting you and I'm hearing you know some
music back where we're deep into this chorus and the
game is very clearly on and Mike Brown is being
interviewed between quarters. Yeah, I want to hear what Mike
Brown is saying. Okay, what about halftime? Yeah, I don't

(11:06):
need to hear.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
The half Yeah, same halftime, you just have a little
dance party.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
But how do you guys feel about this proof of concept? Like,
what are you gonna do? You're gonna walk in and
if during the first commercial break they don't have the
timing down, you're gonna walk out and go somewhere else.

Speaker 6 (11:18):
I mean, So I'm gonna try to get there at
six and have them play a game and say, pretend
this is the game.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
Can we do a dress forhearsl really quick?

Speaker 4 (11:25):
Guys, throw on some soccer, maybe afternoon baseball, Yeah, and
then just hit the music during.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
The commercy hey commercial break music.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Go okay, So you want them to do a game
before the game, perhaps they'll put on Game two. You
see how they take it into break. You see if
the music goes during a time out, you're basically asking
them to show off, to prove to you before the
game that their bar is worthy of you watching the
game in tonight.

Speaker 6 (11:49):
Yeah, and this is this is the biggest game in
New York sports history right now. This is the biggest
night in a lot of these bars history. But I
do need them to cater to meet tonight.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Yes, okay, we have we can observations coming up here
just a second, Dan.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
You had something.

Speaker 8 (12:05):
Yeah, dude, guys, you may want to break soon. We
may be getting Greg Kite on who played two games
for the Knicks in nineteen ninety five.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
We're efforting right now, Kite.

Speaker 8 (12:15):
So yeah, so we may get Greg kite It's fifty
to fifty right now. But in the two games he
played in nineteen ninety five, why not have a Knicks
legend on, you know, prior to Game three?

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Yes, of course everyone else is and has El Harrington,
Jeremy Lynn.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
It's unbelievable.

Speaker 6 (12:29):
Yeah, Taylor, So the jersey I'm actually wearing today is
it's ah Antonio mcdice jersey when he played on the Knicks.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Nick legend.

Speaker 6 (12:38):
Yeah, yeah, of course, a Nick legend. But he kind
of sums up the Nick experience in between the times
between finals appearances where he's coming off an All Star appearance.
He barely plays games on the Knicks because of a
knee injury. I texted Arieljwanistu and said outfit of the day,
and he said, get that jersey off your box. We

(13:00):
don't need any.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
No one is more insane about the next than Ariel.
One of you joined us on a Saturday. He's taking
both his kids to the game tonight, and I'm excited
for him. I'm excited for Mike Breen. What an opportunity
for Breen. Listen, He's going to be down the middle
because he's a professional and maybe the best broadcaster we've
ever seen. But what a special night for Mike Breen
walking into that building and calling the first NBA Finals

(13:25):
game in that building since ninety nine and doing so
with a two nothing serious lead.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
By the way, if we don't get Greg Kite as
Dan still effort, still efforting, we might you never know,
you know, back up, we can get Felton Spencer.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
Oh this guy, we get Felton Spencer. Tell Greg to
fly a kite? I mean, how about that?

Speaker 6 (13:45):
What about Raymond?

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Felon's a more difficult get.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
Live weekday said three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
Jonathan Macree, the dean of Knick's Film School, is going
to join us at around four twenty. It is a
mount rushmore Monday. We stick to the format on this show.
If it's a Monday and we're here doing the show.
We are doing a Mount Rushmore Monday. Izzy was the
winner last week. And this is precisely why Israel should
never be the winner, because, well, I'll let you introduce

(14:22):
what the Mount Rushmore topic is today because we have
a lot of questions about it. We never carried so
many yet we never do a segment before the Mount Rushmore.
But this begs the segment because we have so many questions,
So go ahead, is it okay?

Speaker 4 (14:34):
So yes, Taylor and I had a little bit of
a text exchange going in where he wanted to say
one thing specifically, and I just wanted to call it
the Mount Rushmore of Texas legends, Texas sports legends, and
then we just settled on, Okay, professional sports, fine, if
you have to be a professional, So not like some
high school legend or somebody like I don't know, Kevin

(14:55):
Durant who only played college there or Ricky Williams who
played college there. I don't think that counts a pro
Texas legend. So it can be an individual sport, right,
but you're from Texas.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Can it be an individual who was from Texas but
played elsewhere in a team sport?

Speaker 3 (15:12):
No, it cannot be. So it cannot be Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
No, if it's a team sport, you have to have
played in Texas. If it's an individual sport which you're
only representing yourself, okay, then you have to be from Texas.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Go ahead, mikey Okay.

Speaker 7 (15:24):
So here's my question. This might be more of a
Dan Byer question than an easy question. Are we weighing
how they did in while they were in Texas?

Speaker 3 (15:33):
Well?

Speaker 4 (15:33):
I mean, you wouldn't really be a legend of Texas
if you won three championship chips with the Lakers and
then ended your career with the Rockets for a season, Right,
that doesn't really count.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Well, don't you think Mahomes is a Texas legend?

Speaker 1 (15:45):
He was born in Texas, went to college in Texas,
won Super Bowls in Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (15:49):
But if you remember what we're saying is if it's
a team sport, you have to have played there. You're
not a Texas legend as part of a team for
another state.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
And the reason we're doing this is counter of programming
the Nicks. I'm so tired of all this New York talk.
I would like to get the state of Texas some love.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
He has Nick fatigue.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
We'll get plenty of knicks with Jonathan Macrey, the dean
of Knick's Film school coming up after the mount rushmore
here on a Monday. Any other follow up questions. I'm confused.
I have a thousand names written down on a piece
of paper right here, literally a thousand names, because there's
so many teams in Texas.

Speaker 7 (16:20):
I mean, you know what, at this point, I'm just
gonna I made my big board. I'm gonna stick to it,
and if it's not what Dan Byer wants, then that's
that's how I'll.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
Play the game.

Speaker 7 (16:28):
I hope he's got a Golden ticket ready, because I
always like when that comes into play, right, But yeah,
I think I'm just gonna. I'm gonna I'm gonna argue
anybody that you guys disagree with.

Speaker 6 (16:38):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
The fact that we're all catering to Dan Byer is
the problem with this segment in the first place. I mean,
because really it should be all Dallas Cowboys, and yet
I am looking for the Golden Goose or whatever the
hell it is that he calls it, and I have
an idea of who it is and what it might be.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
There are so many teams and so many people to
choose from. Go ahead.

Speaker 8 (16:59):
I think it is fair to say you don't have
to cater to me. I feel like I try to
be objective as much as I can in this scenario.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Yes, in all of these drafts. So you may trying
to be.

Speaker 6 (17:14):
A jetame stance every Mount Rushmore Monday. I'm not pandering
to Dan, I'm not. I'm not dandering if I lose
the Mount Rushmore Monday, I lose the Mount Rushmore Monday.
I'm not pandering think.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
Taylor as well for the most part too, I know.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
But listen, you're gonna learn why you should never allow
Israel good Eras to win one.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Yeah, that's on you, Dan Bern.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
I believe I picked a very simple topic. Ridiculous this
is I think this is a good topic.

Speaker 5 (17:41):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Yeah, but what you're saying, Taylor is you're gonna put
your best four forward regardless and let the chips fall
where they may.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Is that what you're saying?

Speaker 6 (17:50):
Yeah, I would much rather lose than do what you
guys do. You guys are like looking up Dan Byron
to you, Like, has Dan Byer ever talked about this
Houston Rocket ever? To try to gain favor with him.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
No, you're reading this the Houston Rocket. Yeah, you're reading
this incorrectly. What I'm trying to do is never have
easy choose the topic again.

Speaker 8 (18:09):
There's a good chance Easy could be the O two
Angels like that that that year that was it magical
run and then never to see him again.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Well we'll see, I mean, yeah, we'll see.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
You have the Rangers, you have the Astros, you have
too many teams, you have the Mavericks. Yeah, I just
want to make sure we have all the teams here.
How many professional teams does Texas have? You have the Cowboys,
you have the Texans, you have Andre Johnson, you have
that shop.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
I mean, there's so many things, so many players to
choose from.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
Andrey Johnson is not on the Dallas Stars.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
I forgot about the Dallas Stars. And Mike Madonna.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
I mean you mentioned my one hockey sious.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
Dude, why are we doing this before we're doing.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
This because we have questions we were unclear.

Speaker 7 (18:52):
You were probably the worst person to be in a
fantasy draft with.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
You're sitting there going, oh my god, this guy's gonna
fall to me.

Speaker 7 (18:58):
This guy's and Stud's like, hey, how come nobody took
this guy yet, yeah, and.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
That I oh, I guess I'll take it right.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Everyone hates when someone blurts out the name that everyone
watchs he's still on the board, and the guy realizes
he's still on the board and he takes up.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Stu's the guy who in the second round will yell
out a tight end's name, and then everybody starts the
tight end run because they think that guy's going to get.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
Up at Jason Witten.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
I mean, there's so many places you can go at,
too Tall Jones, Tony dor sat Emmitt Smith.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
This is impossible.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
So far, your big board sounds like it sucks.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
Well, that depends on whether or not Dan likes it.
What it's all about. I mean, I'm.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Thinking about Dirk. I'm thinking about I just I can't
stop thinking Luca.

Speaker 6 (19:39):
You're welcome.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
I needed to be I needed to be distracted from
the next that he gave it to me.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gottson Company
Live Weekday, said three pm Eastern, twelve pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
It is a mount rushmore Monday here on stut Gottson Company.
I now have two pays pages of names filled out
two entire pages of names of Texas sports legends, since
that is today's Mount Rushmore. Jonathan Mack where you get
to join us in about fifteen minutes. He's the dean
of Knick's Film School. I'll get to some sound from
him in a second. But first, Taylor wanted to be

(20:17):
up in New York so we could feel the buzz. Taylor,
is there an update there from New York City?

Speaker 6 (20:23):
Yeah, as a four pm. So right now, Midtown Manhattan
is banning all pedestrian traffic near Madison Square Guardian. So
even if I wanted to get close to Madison Square Garden,
I could not come within a five block radius.

Speaker 7 (20:36):
It looks like at least one of the transportation hubs
isn't directly underneath Madison Square Guarden.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
Yes, but Mikey, he wanted to be close to the
Mecca to feel the buzz, to feel the people pouring
out win or lose, and he can't it a five
to six block radius of the Mecca right now because
not a block all of Midtown Manhattan has been shut down.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
That's crazy.

Speaker 5 (21:01):
The city that never sleeps. What are you gonna do?

Speaker 4 (21:02):
Go take a nap because there's nothing to do in
midtown right now, it's all shut down.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Yes, we'll get to the Mount Rushmore here in just
a second, I mentioned Jonathan Macree you going to join us,
the dean of Knick's Film School, and I feel like,
along with Ariel Hawani, he is very representative of all
Nick fans and what they're going through right now. Here's
a bit of work here from our friend Jonathan Macree
as he did a watch along for the New York Knicks.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Brusson on the Drive, Spence under me up, that's what
I want.

Speaker 5 (21:40):
He should have warned you to cover your ears.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
It's how I want Breed to call the game. I
thought that was Breed.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Let's hear it was perfectly time before we get to
the Mount Rushmore. This man is going to be He's
gonna be joining us in about twelve minutes.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Brunson on the Drive, Spiens underneath.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Of all the voices in that sound, if I told
you you could only have one on the show today,
which one would you want? And we've had Breen on
the show plenty, but which one would you want?

Speaker 4 (22:19):
I mean, I'll take Green. This guy keeps making me
jump out of my chair.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Let's get to the Mount Rushmore Monday. Give me the imaging. Please.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
Hey you there, Yeah, you the guy with the spreadsheet
pretending to work.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
Do you find yourself.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Needing up, picking up as you're dragging and your cubicles
start the week? Are you ready to put the sports
back in sports talk? Well, then you're in luck because
every Monday we climb a mountain. We talked the legends
and we argue about things.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
The truth you can't handle, the truth.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
That as do not matter and are completely subjective.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
This is Mount Rushmore Monday, Monday Monday. It is about
Rushmore Monday.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Is he was the winner last week, therefore he chooses
the topic for this week.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
He has chosen Texas sports legends.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
We're gonna stick to pros sports or just non college
or high school beyond college or high school sports. But yeah,
as a counter programming to all the New York Knicks programming.
And it's going on today, like Al Harrington on whatever
show that is First Things.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
First, go ahead.

Speaker 6 (23:33):
It's players that played professionally in Texas. Like Guzzi just mentioned,
the draft order has been randomized. Stu Gotts with the
first pick, then I'm picking two, Mikey's picking three is
he's picking four, and then it snakes back around.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
Just to be clear, individual sports still, like Vallid, you
could still choose individual sports athletes.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
So if they were born in the state of Texas
but chose an individual sport, not a team sport.

Speaker 5 (23:58):
Then they're representing Texas individually.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Okay, that count, got it? All right? So I have
the first pick here, all right? You sift through my
three and.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
A half said, he wrote down thousands of names, and
you don't even have it one like an, I guess
number one.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
I circled one.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Somewhere on one the one that I circled, I found
the one that I circled.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
I feel like when you talk about Texas, by the way,
you have to say the great state of Texas.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Don't you. Okay?

Speaker 5 (24:23):
I mean a few says though, but put.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
It on the pole tailor when you talk about Texas,
do you have to call it the great state of Texas.

Speaker 5 (24:29):
I think that's going to come back seventy percent?

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Now, all right?

Speaker 1 (24:34):
This guy was born in Texas but did not do
all of his winning. In fact, I'm not certain he
ever won in the state of Texas. But he's done
a lot of winning. Plus it's in Dan Byer's wheelhouse. No, boy,
I am going with Scottie Scheffler. Wow, yes, Scottie. Pick
is Scottie Scheffler.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
Two guys.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
I'm so happy listening a lot of directions I could
have went, and I decided to go in Dan's direction.
And Dan's direction is always golf. When he's not here,
he's golfing. And I'm going Scottie Scheffler.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
How about that other golfers from Texas who might have
been better than Sheffer?

Speaker 3 (25:08):
But hey, I'm not so well.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
Where's Tiger from Texas?

Speaker 3 (25:13):
Texas?

Speaker 10 (25:14):
Right?

Speaker 6 (25:15):
So with the second pick, Yeah, he got his start
in Dallas twenty eighteen to twenty twenty two, I'm picking
Jalen Brunson.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
Oh my lord, Oh my lord, I mean, how do
you do that?

Speaker 5 (25:27):
His best year is not trying to win, is not
trying to win?

Speaker 3 (25:30):
Thank you.

Speaker 10 (25:31):
I'm gonna take my one one because it's still on
the board. Give me the guy that embodies Texas on
the baseball field.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
Give me Nolan Ryan. Wow, Ryan Express.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
I mean, that's pretty good when you get your first
pick at number three, I mean, well done by you.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
I'm just pandering to Dan during.

Speaker 5 (25:48):
Dan I'd like to thank you for my back to
back wins. Oh for Iver, make a pick.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
We'll see, because these nick drunk clowns have left the
two best possible players on the board. The first one
is the legend who has five rings, Tim duncan Oh,
Big Fundamental. And the second is the legend who has
three rings and is the all time leading rusher in football,

(26:13):
Emmitt Smith.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (26:15):
I mean, come on, you.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Guys, not sexy though, I mean, you gotta be honest.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
With rings aren't sexy? That one here Stu Goatts's next book.
Rings aren't sexy.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
I mean they're sexy. But Emmitt did it. You know
he was great. He was a great play. He's a
running only the.

Speaker 5 (26:29):
Best running back, that's all.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
That's all. Was who was your other one man? Was
he even the best from Texas? I mean, come on,
Mikey hero, I.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
Mean, this draft is turning into a dream for me. Yeah,
so I'll take the dream. Gimme hakeem.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
Wow, only three less championships than Tim Duncan, well, five.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Less when you consider Jordan took two years off and
Elijah want to know business winning those championships?

Speaker 5 (26:59):
So rings aren't sexy?

Speaker 8 (27:00):
So you also have to consider Elijah Wentz college days
at Houston.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
And now you don't specifically, you don't consider whatever he
wants to consider where.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
He also didn't win. I'll go ahead, Taylor, so.

Speaker 6 (27:15):
With my second round pick, he was a rocket in
twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen, Carmelo Anthony.

Speaker 5 (27:21):
Lors this guy, I love it.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
I love what you're doing here. I mean keeping the
knicks in the conversation.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
Counter program, Jens, you only a coke.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Two to you? S dude? Oh wow, wow, wow, I
can't believe. I'm buyer wants you to pick right.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Well, I'm hoping that, you know, I'm hoping Dan Bayer
is a big fan of the UH of cycling, because
I am going to go with Lance Armstrong Tour de France.
I mean that guy is also really good. Say what
do you want about Lance Armstrong?

Speaker 3 (27:53):
Thank you, fantastic, thank you.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
I mean, I'm sitting here with Scottie Scheffler or Lance Armstrong.

Speaker 4 (27:58):
What you got and I think you could well something
better than to go again. But I think he also
could have gotten Lance Armstrong with your fourth pick.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Maybe perhaps I'm gonna go.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
I'm staying individual sports here, I mean one of the
greatest boxers of all time, good pick and the inventor
of a grill that made him more money than he
ever made boxing.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
I'm going George Forman grill.

Speaker 5 (28:20):
George Foreman.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
It should have been Hulk Holgan's grill. I've told this
story a million times. They shared the same agent. The
agent called Hulk first, Hulk wasn't home. He then called
George Forman because he needed an answer. Forman said, yes,
the Forman grill, and Hulk got a blund drown, the
real American blender.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
Yes. Yes, So I'm going George Forman.

Speaker 5 (28:39):
And for the next nick, we have Taylor.

Speaker 6 (28:42):
Let's see, my board is playing out exactly how I
want right now, Still got all my names still available.
He was a rocket in two thousand and four, Charles Oaklings.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
He named his dog after him.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
All right, congrats on fourth place, Taylor, Mikey.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
I'm just gonna take Michael Urban the playmaker. Yeah, it's
on one of my pages here.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
This one's tough because Wow, or have been over Achman.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
That's crazy.

Speaker 5 (29:11):
This one's tough because I don't want to go too
heavy on the triplets.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
I don't want to get two out of three triplets
do I there's also you know what, my first pick
is going to be the individual athlete. And I know
this is going to make some people mad because technically,
I don't know if her sport was professional.

Speaker 5 (29:28):
But Simone Biles, Oh wow, that's a good question.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
Was her sport professional?

Speaker 5 (29:34):
I mean she justaid we got paid after the Olympics. Yeah,
but you didn't get.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
You got paid endorsements?

Speaker 4 (29:41):
No, she got No, she got paid to do gymnastics
stuff like events and stuff after the Olympics.

Speaker 6 (29:47):
I think the bigger question is Wikipedia say she was
born in Columbus, Ohio.

Speaker 9 (29:50):
Oh yeah, yeah, Okay, we can eliminate her. You know what,
I'm not even going to look up my information. I
believe she's a Texan. But I can get rid of it.
If Taylor Taylor rules, that's fine, it's his game. Well, no,
it's your Mount Rushmore's my Mount Rushmore. But but by
my she was raised in Houston, Okay, raised, not born.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (30:10):
So was?

Speaker 5 (30:11):
I was born in New York?

Speaker 3 (30:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (30:13):
I left when I was two years old to live
live in Miami. Am I a Floridian or New Yorkers?

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Dude, that's a good question. You boxed me in whatever
it is. You're a Floridian, Yeah you are, all right.
I don't care if you spent ten years and she's
a Texan.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
You're taking Biles.

Speaker 3 (30:28):
Thank you for that. She I mean she's not but okay, Texan, Okay,
all right, she's a Texan. I mean you're talking like
she's Matt shabb jj watt.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
And then just because he played his entire career there
and won the championship there, I'm going back to the
NBA and taking Dirk.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
Okay, let's go with Dirk.

Speaker 6 (30:51):
Okay, wow, good value, Dirk.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
Let's hear Dirk in the four. Let's hear is he's
full four here? Just so I have it.

Speaker 5 (30:58):
Tim Duncan, emittt Smith, Simone Biles, Derek Navitzky.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
Biles from Ohio. Okay, whatever, all right, who's up?

Speaker 10 (31:04):
So I had I had a name circle to take
in this round, but I mean, how do I leave
David Robinson on the board right now?

Speaker 6 (31:12):
So I I just can't do it. So I'm gonna
go ahead.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
And take the apiral. Yeah, no one taking one.

Speaker 7 (31:16):
D Huh, God's gonna be oh for winning championships.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Don't say that, I mean, seriously, don't do it. You're
doing that thing. I'm a confident Knicks.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
Fan now, just the way I saw a path of
the Knicks, I see a path with his comeback for
the Spurs.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
Jesus Christ Taylor. You're stick them out right.

Speaker 6 (31:36):
So I have three names still left on my big
board here. Yeah, Charlie Ward, Amaris Stodamyer. But I think
I have to go with if he was a Spur
in twenty sixteen, one of my favorite basketball players of
all time, Florida Gator. I believe David Lee.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Wow, that's your best pick so far. Yes, you mean
I believe. Of course he was a Florida.

Speaker 10 (31:58):
Thanks for leaving me to fight, is he so that? Uh,
we can take a different category next week.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
Let's do athletes from the state of Ohio.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
Still, you got your last pick?

Speaker 3 (32:10):
All right? Oh? So many names, so many names quarterbacks left.
There's there's a.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
Little Campbell, There's two tall Jones, there's I keep saying
names until Dan Perks Upriguez is on the board.

Speaker 4 (32:23):
Yeah, and he's Mike Madonna, Deon Sanders like mcdona's a
good one.

Speaker 5 (32:26):
Mary lou rettin if we're gonna go wow, wow.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
Gymnastics, I'm gonna go wrestle it.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
Maybe outside of Hulko, get the most famous wrestler of
all time, Stone Cold, Steve Austin.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
How about are we doing Mount Rushmore of actors?

Speaker 1 (32:44):
I mean, that's a pretty good a Mount Rushmore I
put together. I don't know if I'm gonna win. I'm
not certain I'm paying. I'm Dan during to Dan enough,
but I haven't like. I like my Mount Rushmore. I
think it's it's clever, it's good, and it's no team sports,
all individuals.

Speaker 6 (32:58):
Okay, all right.

Speaker 8 (33:00):
One thing I am certain, and I think we're all certain.
Taylor's in fourth. So Taylor is in fourth today. The
Golden Ti, yes there was in the Knicks. The golden
ticket was taken in the first round. It was Nolan Ryan.
It was not only with the Texas roots, but obviously
playing for the Astros and Rangers.

Speaker 5 (33:17):
Is that one world?

Speaker 3 (33:20):
When I think Texas, I learned Nolan Ryan.

Speaker 8 (33:23):
I I had a couple of other honorable mentions that
could have curried favor. Stui were right there with Scotty
Scheffler also had Ben Crenshaw and Jordan Speith as as possibilities.

Speaker 5 (33:35):
Ben Hogan.

Speaker 8 (33:37):
Ben Hogan would have been this. Yeah, it would have
been great as well. I'm gonna I'm gonna say this,
Mikey's got the automatic top two spot for the the
Golden Ticket, so I got to settle three. I love
Stu's variety, So is he bad news for you? You're
a number three? The Biles born in Ohio really hurts.
And the winner of Mount Rushmore Monday on this June

(33:59):
eighth is Stu Gotts. I love the variety, and I
thought the Lance Armstrong pick was probably the best pick
of any of the sixteen.

Speaker 6 (34:07):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (34:08):
Nobody would recognize the faces on his mountain and they'd
be like.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
Is that Scottish? Shit? What is who is that? Is
that Scotty? Why is that three? Eighteen? Up? There?

Speaker 5 (34:17):
Is that the number sixteen?

Speaker 3 (34:21):
Come on?

Speaker 5 (34:22):
I know because it's not sports, it's tactic.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
But it's a fair point.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
That is he brings up when you look up at
a Mount Rushmore and have to ask the person you're with, Hey,
is that Steve Austin?

Speaker 5 (34:30):
Seriously?

Speaker 6 (34:31):
What the hell's he doing there?

Speaker 3 (34:34):
Dan?

Speaker 5 (34:35):
Did I get defeated by a fact check?

Speaker 4 (34:38):
If Taylor doesn't say anything, If Taylor doesn't say anything,
my Mount Rushmore is the clear winner.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
I just don't look.

Speaker 8 (34:44):
I get its professional sports, and I think he took
the top dogs. But I don't know. There's just Emmitt Smith.
There are a lot of cowboys we could have taken.
I just like the variety of Stew's.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Yeah, okay, thank you, Dan. Plus, he never wanted Itzy
to choose the topic.

Speaker 5 (34:59):
Again, he's dandering, is what he's doing.

Speaker 6 (35:01):
Dan, would I have won if I picked Jared Jeffers?

Speaker 3 (35:05):
I should end.

Speaker 4 (35:07):

Speaker 1 (35:28):
All Right Now with thanks here to Jonathan Macree for
joining us on behalf of all Nick fans.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
I cannot get enough of that guy. He is fantastic.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
I am nervous headed into tonight's game. We have a
softball update. We have followed Taylor and is he's softball
team nearly as much as we have followed the New
York Knicks during this playoff run. We'll get to that
in a second, but quickly, Taylor. Who wins tonight? Nicks
or Spurs? Who wins tonight? Why am I asking you?

Speaker 3 (35:53):
Go ahead?

Speaker 6 (35:53):
Listen. They haven't given me a reason to doubt them
in thirteen games. Yeah, I'm not gonna start doubt in
them today. Nick and four, we're breaking out the brooms.
We're sweeping these bums. Send them back to san Antonio.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
He's calling them bums. He's breaking out the brooms. He
had the Knicks in five. He is upgraded to Nixon four.
I have the Knickson four. If they win tonight, Nickson three,
the series is over. San Antonio leaves mikey A. We're
not certain if he's a Nick fan or not. He's
trying to Jinxaus. We don't know what's going on with him.
Mikey A, who wins the game tonight? I have not
been trying to drink so you.

Speaker 7 (36:24):
I've been trying to reel you in, and I'm going
to continue to try and reel you in.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
But no, I'm fully.

Speaker 7 (36:30):
Invested right now, Knicks win it, Nicks sweep a Nixon
four all right.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
I have the Knicks by thirty two points. Is he
who wins tonight?

Speaker 4 (36:36):
I'm a fan of narratives, stories and longer series. I've
got them Spurs winning tonight.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
Go ahead, Taylor.

Speaker 6 (36:44):
I think part of it, too, is when you come
back to Madison Square Garden, you come back to New York.
I think the guys in the Knicks locker room are
looking around and thinking, I never want to step foot
in san Antonio again for the rest of for the
rest of this year. We can't go back to san Antonio.
I'm not going back to san Antonio.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
Nixon for you can make the claim there are guys
way down on san Antonio's bench you also don't want
to go back to san Antonio.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
I mean you could, you could make that claim.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
I mean, I'm sure Victor wants to go, but yeah,
the guys way down on the bench who.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
Don't play, they don't like san Antonio anyway. What is
going on?

Speaker 1 (37:16):
Did you guys have a softball game over the weekend?
Do you have a playoff game?

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Where are we in this league?

Speaker 4 (37:20):
It's a very sad time, very sad potential anti climactic
ending two our season. Yes, the playoffs beginning tonight. Do
Taylor's in New York. Taylor's in New York. Ian's out
of town, which, by the way, are the two people
that we really joined this league for. With Taylor and
Ian they're both out of town. They're in the playoffs.

(37:41):
So yeah, sure as hell. No, I'm not gonna be there,
of course, and so are down. And you know, we
might have to potentially, you know, fill the roster with
illegal players who are technically on our roster.

Speaker 3 (37:52):
Some ringers, huh, you know.

Speaker 4 (37:55):
Not riggers, just people that kind of look like Taylor
or kind of look like me so that they don't
think we're bringing in other people.

Speaker 3 (38:02):
And then we'll see what happens.

Speaker 4 (38:03):
But it would be such a sad ending if, after
all this nonsense and after all that Taylor put.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
Me through, Yeah, that we just have to forfeit in
the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
Yes, Andrew Jones is in New York. Therefore he cannot
be at his softball game tonight.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Speak for yourself. That is terrible. No one on the
team should show up. If the leaders aren't showing up,
why should they show.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
Up, you know, right.

Speaker 4 (38:23):
Well, our actual leader, our home run hitter, I believe,
is the one who's just said on the app. He's like, listen,
if we're not going to have enough, please to tell
me so I don't have to show up there.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
Just imagine Michale Bridge is saying, eh, you know what,
Game three, not.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
Gonna show up? I have a softball game. I mean,
Taylor would tear his he off.

Speaker 6 (38:42):
Yeah, but I'm saying the World Cup should be waiting
for the Knicks right now. Softball is so far down
my list of priorities where Yes, I was in New
York and is He said, are you going to softball tonight?
And I said, shoot, that's fine.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
Hey.

Speaker 4 (38:55):
If we got the nine players and they win without us, Taylor,
you can never come back.

Speaker 1 (38:58):
I have no doubt it's at the bottom of your
priority list. But imagine where it is for is he
considering the only reason he played was as a favor
to you?

Speaker 6 (39:07):
