Speaker 2 (00:14):
This is the Best of Stu Gotson Company Live on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox That is eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Israel goudieas I love
him to death, but you never know. He is so strange.
You never know what story from Dan Byer is gonna
make as he perk up and get excited. And somehow
when Dan announce lifetime bands for certain San Antonio fans
is he was outraged.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Talk about big talk. There's no way you can keep
up a lifetime band. So this guy that ran on
the court, he's probably in his twenties. You're telling me
that fifty years from now, when this guy wants to
go to a Spurs game, that ban is still gonna
be on. He's you know how many crazy things are
gonna happen in this world over the next years, and
he's gonna go to a Spurs game and said, no, no, no,

(01:02):
you tried to take a selfie one time, Get out
of here. This guy's gonna go to another game, lifetime
band get out of here, right.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
But you have him going to games when he's seventy something,
which I agree with you on.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
He'll look different. No one's gonna know, but I think
he'll probably end up going to a game when he's
like thirty something.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
I don't think a lifetime I think he can show
up to tomorrow night, can get into the game.

Speaker 5 (01:23):
All right, one, that's fine.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I put it in a blaze where you can't one
up me. I have him gone to the next game.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Well, there's people doing interviews with Maxison on news stations,
so you could go anyway.

Speaker 5 (01:36):
This guy could go anyway.

Speaker 6 (01:37):
Guys, Just an update on that story. The NBA actually
wanted to give him a penalty of forcing him to
go to regular season games, but they needed it too harsh,
so they just said lifetime ban, which would include playoffs.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
Thank you, Dan, I always a good information.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
Yes, tailors in a very good mood.

Speaker 7 (01:55):
Today.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
The Nicks are up one game to nothing. Fell asleep
in by ten.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
That was not their a game. It was like a
B minus C plus game. They played well in the
second half. They trailed by double digits in the third quarter,
and I feel like a lot of people here is
he and you could kind of shed some light on
just how good Carl Anthony Towns was last night.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
But I feel like there's an entire city, well mainly.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
The host at wfan who owe that man in apology
and maybe someone on our staff who owes that man
in apology.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
But we'll get to that in a second.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Carl Anthony Towns does not get the credit that he deserves.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
And man, did he.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Play well as Ricardo does Ricardo.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
I'm sorry, Carl Anthony Towns.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
And this is the one thing I was worried about
going into the.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Series, right in a level of playoffs he hasn't played
before against this guy who's supposed to be the next
great everything in Victor Wimbinyama, that maybe Carl will sort
of revert back to his you know ways from early Minnesota,
where it was like clearly nervous and fouling a lot
and not making shots and not being aggressive and whining
about nonfouls and every anything else. What he did yesterday

(03:02):
was seem like the most comfortable player on the floor.
It didn't matter where he was, right if Victor was
checking him on the perimeter. I'm just going to drive
right past you. Yes, if you know Victor is sort
of playing that zone between me and Josh Hart. If
he out goes out to contest Josh Hart, I'm just
gonna go get this offensive rebound and put it back in.
He seemed very calm, very just comfortable with what was
going on, and which is crazy because it's a product

(03:24):
of the offense that basically changed during the postseason.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
So, yeah, Carl Anthony Towns was fantastic yesterday and deserves
all the credit for that game that Jalen closed out
for him.

Speaker 8 (03:34):
Yeah, and is he Wemby was two of twelve with
kat as his primary defender. He shoots sixteen point six
percent in those situations. My favorite play of the game
wen Bin Yama in the corner off the side of
the backboard.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Here's what's gonna happen with Wemby because it's already started, right.
We marveled at him in the Western Conference finals, throughout
these playoffs, face of the league, future of the league,
and now everyone's saying he needs to bulk up, and
he needs to get inside an inside game and get
himself inside the paint.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
Because he's playing too far away from the basket.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
Well, it's definitely true and we've been We mentioned it yesterday, Like.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
That's the one thing that he needs to actually work
on is the typical big man stuff, Right, Hey, get
in the post, have a good go to shot, you know,
just copy the Tim Duncan Banker just whatever. You're gonna
be able to get that shot off more easily than
every other player in the league just because of your height.
The problem with him is he can't maintain his position

(04:32):
in the post. You can just push him out and
it doesn't have to be another big guy like Karl
Anthony Towns. It could be somebody like oh g Annobi
or even an Alex Caruso from the last series. So
that's where he needs to bulk up.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
By fear is that the things that we marvel about
as it relates to Wemby are the things that he
could do.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
And he looks like Steph Curry when he does that.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
And now you want to stick him inside the paint
with a skyhook like every other big man we've ever seen,
you know.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
But that's the whole point, right, So he's almost working backwards.
He's taking and perfer affecting the skills on the perimeter,
if you will, that things that make him such an alien,
and then he will turn back to the things that
make a traditional big guy good. But I think, I
think at this point like we've already seen what he
can do on the perimeter. Sure, we've seen him. That
shot looks pure, it looks natural. We know he has it,

(05:16):
is what I say. And yes, there are certain things
he can work on still on that part of his game,
like driving, you know, avoiding people reaching in and being
able to strip that ball. But at the very least,
when you need a calming presence out there, you need
somebody or him near the bucket and just something that
you understand is a go to for him, and he
just doesn't have it yet, which is wild because he's

(05:37):
still four wins away from a championship.

Speaker 7 (05:39):
Is he?

Speaker 8 (05:40):
Brunton made eight baskets from within ten feet last night,
which ties the most by any player against the Spurs
in the playoffs this season. If you just looked at
Jalen Brunton's shot chart and Victor wenbin Yama's shot chart,
you would not be able to tell which one of
them was six foot two and which one of them
was seven foot four.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Shout out Tom Havistow for showing those shots.

Speaker 8 (05:58):
You tried to do it without credit to Tom Hamshaw
deserves credit for shot charts.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
I wasn't criticizing you. I'm proud of you. You took
his work and you made it your own, and I'd
be proud of you.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
To be honest, I really only credited him because he's
been on the show and he's our friend. If it
was somebody else, I'd be like, yeah, go ahead, Taylor,
that's the hell of a stat.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
But how do you feel about that Brunton getting inside,
getting wherever he wants basically, and playing closer to the
basket than a guy who was seven to four.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
So there was a play early on that sort of
told you what the Knick's mentality was when it came
to Victor Wembinyama, Taylor, tell me if you remember this one,
Josh Hart early on, driving in tries to give him
a little shoulder and then go up for a layup
and Victor sent it, and it's like, at least they're
not afraid. In the end, that was one of three.
It was only three blocks. It was only three blocks,

(06:44):
which is crazy to say about somebody. But it was
only three blocks from Victor, and so Jalen is not
going to shy away from getting to his spot. What
he's trusting is that their offense is designed in a
way that when I get to my spot, Victor won't
be quite as close, and so I can still operate
as normal.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
And if you remember a lot of you know, you're
not going to check.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
The tape, But if you go back and check the
tape and look at some of those atos the aftertime
out plays for the thunder, Basically, they just found a
way to get Shay on a side of the floor
where Victor is not make one move and boom, He's
got his classic mid range jumper. And so I think
Jalen saw that and says, Okay, I don't need to
be afraid of Victor Wimbinyama this entire series. I can
go ahead and you know, get into the paint and

(07:25):
try to find my shot and if it's not there,
get off of it.

Speaker 5 (07:27):
But he's not avoiding it altogether.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Taylor hates win probability, so do I, by the way,
and I am wondering what happened inside Taylor's household when
in the third quarter. With about six minutes ago in
the third quarter, ESPN flashed up ABC did that the
Spurs had a ninety four point one wind probability.

Speaker 8 (07:46):
I respect so much. How wrong the win probability is.
Consistently the win probability doesn't take into account heart. Yes,
not Josh Hart.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Yes, but yes.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
We have never celebrated a guy more who went one
for five from the field than we are today with
Josh Hart.

Speaker 7 (08:03):
It's amazing.

Speaker 8 (08:04):
Anyway, this next team has no quit right now after
that comeback, we're renaming everything. You go to a bodega,
you order a brunts and egg and cheese. There talks
to rebuild the statue of Liberty, get that French thing
out of there and replace it with the statue of
Brunson where he's doing his three point celebration. It is
poetic that Jalen Brunson has that type of performance in

(08:25):
the NBA Finals, in the building that Becky Hammond's jersey
hangs from the rafter after she continues to double down
on how wrong she has been about him.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Yes, if the win probability is ninety four point one percent,
the other team on the other side of that has
your right where you want Mark where they want you.
They did come out exactly how I wanted. But you guys,
we knew exactly what you meant.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Speaking of things not coming out the way that you wanted,
there were a couple of players who had a huge
impact in this game that we haven't mentioned yet. One
was Josh Hart. The other one we did mention it
was Karl Anthony Towns. Jalen Brunton, your boy Taylor A
plus six and the plus minus Carl Anthony Towns a
plus fourteen, Josh harta plus twenty two. Karl Anthony Towns.
I was saying earlier, how comfortable he looks. He looks

(09:08):
like he's ready to win a championship, which I wouldn't
have said, you know, predicted about a week ago.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
And Taylor Stugatz, Yeah, was not as confident about his
boy Karl Anthony Towns. No, No, quite recently, right.

Speaker 9 (09:20):
No.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
In fact, we played a game called close your Eyes.
We all played it. We'll play back that sound right now,
and Taylor, when we play it.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
You should close your ears.

Speaker 8 (09:30):
Yeah, so everybody knows what the eye test is. This
is the close your eyes test. The Knicks don't pass
it for me. Close your eyes and picture Karl Anthony
Town's winning an NBA title. You can't. Did Front Sports
already develop an AI.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
Tailor, Taylor.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
I think James Dolan could use that to keep you
out of MSCHI for life, for a life.

Speaker 8 (09:53):
So you guys are doing this as some kind of gotcha.
I've said repeatedly Knicks fans, we're allowed to say anything
about our guys. There are guys. So if a Knicks
fan comes to me and says, hey, you know what,
Cat's kind of soft, I look at him and I'm like, yeah,
he's kind of got to get that figured out. If
a Spurs fan comes to me and says Cat's soft,
it's on site. You can catch these hands now, So

(10:13):
you have to.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
If you're playing the close your eyes game, right and
you're a Knicks fan, you always have to see the
possibility of a championship. It's the close your eyes game.
It's anything as possible and you couldn't see it.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
Yes you can.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
I am not certain.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
I am not certain there's anyone who wants this more
than Taylor, and I'm including the players on the Knicks.
But this is how confident Taylor was, again during a
game of Close Your eyes, which he can play but
Spurs fans can't.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
But let's hear it again.

Speaker 8 (10:41):
Yeah, so everybody knows what the eye test is. This
is the close your eyes test. The Knicks don't pass
it for me. Close your eyes and picture Karl Anthony
Town's winning an NBA title.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
You can't.

Speaker 9 (10:52):
I can't hear that enough.

Speaker 8 (10:54):
So Stu, Stu is doing this thing where he's trying
to pile on. What he's conveniently leaving out is that
clip was shortened because the next couple of seconds, these
are the next couple of seconds.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
Let me close my eyes and imagine it. Hold on
a second. Okay, he's right, you got me.

Speaker 9 (11:12):
But I was supporting a teammate there, That's all I
was doing.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
I didn't want you to feel alone.

Speaker 7 (11:16):
Man.

Speaker 8 (11:16):
Also, God forbid a fan shows a little bit of
vulnerability around here. Everybody's just gonna jump on me the
second I just voice a slight concern.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
You've been jumping on me since the start of the playoffs,
claiming I'm not a real Knicks fan because I haven't
been around.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
For the last decade.

Speaker 8 (11:33):
You missed the Damon Dotson, You missed the Damon Dotson days.
You really ought to be there.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
I gotta be honest.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
When I closed my eyes, I could see it, but
I didn't want to bail on you.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
I wanted to support my teammate. That's what we're supposed
to do around.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
I'm just gonna say this, Taylor, if you if the
Knicks go on and win and you get your championship
T shirt and it's got all the players on it,
You're gonna have to just put an X over Karl
Anthony Towns.

Speaker 5 (11:53):
Face or like shade of it in black because you
can't picture it.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
I'm picture it.

Speaker 8 (11:56):
I'm a big cat guy, all right.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
He's got three dogs. We need more, doll.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gotson Company
live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Ad Nan Verk and Sean Sharani. You're gonna join us
on the show today. Sham's coming up in about fifteen minutes.
He is in San Antonio for the NBA Finals. A
big game too tonight, Mikey, what do I do here?
With a text I received from Taylor? He's in New York.
He's not here. The games being played in San Antonio.
He wants to be in New York. He wants to
feel the buzz, he wants to be around the action.

(12:36):
All the action is in Texas tonight, but yet he
is still there. This is the text I got from
Mikeya on a Friday, from Taylor, Hey, just got to
New York.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
I might be late. I forgot pants.

Speaker 9 (12:51):
What is happening? I don't know.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
Let's explain, Taylor, explain to the audience what that will happened.

Speaker 8 (13:01):
So I was on a six am flight out of
Fort Lauderdale this morning. Last night, I was too tired.
I was like, I'm gonna do the thing where I
go to sleep and I wake up early to pack.
I wake up about four am. The lights are all dark.
I'm trying not to wake up my girlfriend. I'm throwing
things in a suitcase. I get to the airport, Mikey,
I'm looking at my bag. I packed every Knicks T

(13:23):
shirt I own right, every Knicks T shirt I own.
I have two jerseys in said suitcase and I'm looking.
I'm like, man, I how did I fit so many
T shirts? How did I fit so many jerseys? And
I'm trying to map out my outfit for this watch
party later. Where are my pants? No pants packed? Zero pants?

Speaker 7 (13:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Yeah, that's unfortunate. How many Nick shirts do you own?
Just out of curiosity?

Speaker 8 (13:47):
I mean in this suitcase right now, there's about twenty five.

Speaker 7 (13:50):
But no pants. That's funny you say that, Taylor.

Speaker 10 (13:57):
Quick aside, this is as close to a Knicks outfit
as I can give you. I've got an orange T
shirt and a Yankees hat. Yes, that's as close to
a Nick's outfit as I own, and I wore it
for you today.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Actually, yes, But let's focus on Taylor's problem here, his
predicament because he has no pants.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
He only has T shirts with no pants.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Did you bring shorts because it's summertime up there it
should be warm? You don't, really, technically you don't need
pants right now.

Speaker 8 (14:20):
So the only bottoms I have are the shorts I
wore onto the plane, right the only bottom. Somehow, I
have more jerseys than I have pants.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Okay, so you have to go out and purchase pants
and shorts. Is that what you're saying here? I mean,
what are you gonna do?

Speaker 8 (14:35):
Yeah, I'm gonna have to I'm gonna have to find
somewhere to go. I didn't have time to go before
this because of the flight and the drive into where
I live. So I am I'm currently pantsless. Okay, we're
just wearing the shorts that we have right now. And
it was kind of a situation that I just said,
you know what, later tailor is going to figure this out.

(14:55):
Current tailor, he's enjoying the present. He's enjoying that the
knickser in the finals. Later tailor has to figure out
what store he's gonna go to, the nearest Abercrombie he
could run to so he could buy some shortzer pants.

Speaker 10 (15:08):
Okay, this is the same later tailor that was packing
this morning, as opposed to the current tailor who would
have put pants in his suitcase.

Speaker 7 (15:16):
Yes, a later tailor didn't.

Speaker 10 (15:17):
And this is the same guy we're gonna trust to
figure out the situation later.

Speaker 7 (15:21):
Okay, just making sure we get off.

Speaker 8 (15:23):
Yeah, current current tailor last night kicked the problem to
later tailor.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Hang it out road. Yes, yes, we understand.

Speaker 8 (15:32):
Like, if I packed last night, current tailor, there's almost
a zero percent chance current tailor forgets to pack pants
at eight pm, twelve hours in advance of his flight.
When when I'm worried about scheduling an uber, and we're
getting closer and closer to the boarding time. You could
see how I forgot Pat.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
He needs to calm down, Mikey. He is just all
over the place. He is careening. He's like Gary el Hawane.

Speaker 5 (15:56):
He does it.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
Everyone's emotional.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
They're forgetting their pants, They're not certain where they're going,
they're walking into people, and strangely in New York, everyone's saying, hey,
no problem, there's no fighting. We're all unified by the Knicks.
But everyone's going crazy. And I would have preferred tailor
paint the picture of him doing the radio.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
Show without pants or shorts. That would have been fantastic.

Speaker 8 (16:16):
Yes, I'm sitting on the plane in seven A and
it was almost like the scene and Home Alone, where
everybody's turning and going Kevin, Kevin, Kevin, and then the
mom screams Kevin. But I was just screaming pants.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Any Nick fans on that flight, they're all headed the
San Antonio.

Speaker 8 (16:33):
I mean, yeah, nobody was going. Nobody was heading to Newark,
New Jersey this morning.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
So you're gonna go to the nearest Abercrumbie and Fitch
to get yourself some expensive pants.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
And shorts right after the jow here yeah, and like
I'm here.

Speaker 8 (16:48):
Until the end of the finals, right. I just very
clearly was not prepared for this trip because I have
every time I go to a Knicks game it's been
in the playoffs recently, and they have the towel and
the shirt giveaways. I packed. I packed the towels, I
packed the shirts, I packed the foam finger, I got it.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
Yes, zero pants.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
Yes, you can go out on Madison Square Garden's floor
right now and have a T shirt cannon and have
enough shirts to go around for an entire session.

Speaker 9 (17:17):
If you would love that job, wouldn't you.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
I'm looking at your face right now.

Speaker 9 (17:20):
That would be a dream you wouldn't it up?

Speaker 1 (17:22):
He would quit this job to be the guy who
shoots T shirts out of a cannon at the Mecca.

Speaker 8 (17:29):
I think a T shirt cannon is one of the best,
most underrated things at a sporting event. I've looked at
times like, hey, how much would it be just to
have a T shirt cannon? And my girlfriend's looking at
me when I have our credit card being like, you're
not putting a T shirt cannon.

Speaker 7 (17:44):
On this credit card.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
I'd listen to her seriously.

Speaker 7 (17:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (17:50):
But if she's like, hey, Taylor, can you hand me
a T shirt? Imagine if I could just if I
could just load it up and just down the hallway.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
Yes, but why would she do that? Why would she
ask you for a T shirt? I'm like you, she
doesn't forget anything. She is properly backed, has there, she
has everything stored away. Does she know that you forgot
your pants? Have you been her aware yet?

Speaker 5 (18:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (18:12):
Yeah, she was. She was like the first text message, like,
she's like, hey, hope you have a safe flight, Text
me when you land. And the first text that she
woke up to was no.

Speaker 10 (18:21):
Pants, no pants, I'm gonna overnight me my pants.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Wait no, but Mikey, I'm guessing that Taylor's girlfriend knew
before Taylor did that he didn't.

Speaker 9 (18:30):
Back any pants Like that would be my guess.

Speaker 8 (18:33):
No, so she didn't know because this is the situation
I kind of ran into. And I'm wondering if you
guys have ever had it where your significant others going
on a trip. Yeah, and the flight is early in
the morning, Like if my girlfriend was flying out at
six am and she asked me, Hey, Taylor, I need
you to drag me to the airport at four am. Sure,
no problem. But when the situation is reversed, a four

(18:55):
am flight to her was an instant no go. She
was like, hey, you're taking an Uber. Yeah, I'm not
waking up at four am.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
Yeah, I've experienced that.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Yes, I'll take her to the airport anytime, any day,
does it matter. But God forbid, I asked her to
drop me off of the airport. I'm spending one hundred
and twenty on Uber Black. I mean Jesus.

Speaker 10 (19:17):
I flew home from overseas and my wife was supposed
to pick me up at JFK and I landed and
I said, hey, I'm here.

Speaker 7 (19:25):
Just where should I meet you? She goes, I sent
you a car, I sent you an Uber. And I
don't think I've ever been so hurt in my life.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Yeah, Taylor, so you took an Uber to the airport
this morning. Are you planning on expensing that to me?
How is this going to work? I didn't tell you
to go to New York. I just said you could
go to New York. No, but I didn't say I
didn't say, hey, go to New York. I just said can.
He asked me if he could go, and I said, sure,
go ahead.

Speaker 7 (19:49):
You know.

Speaker 10 (19:51):
The amount of content I know Taylor is going to
walk away from this week.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Yeah, you can expense the uber, Trallian, it's really my half.
You're calling it, thank you? Very free with all money? Yeah,
if it was your money, would you call it?

Speaker 7 (20:05):
Absolutely not? I don't have money.

Speaker 8 (20:09):
Here. How about this for a trade off. I won't
expense the uber. Yeah, but I could expense the pants.

Speaker 11 (20:15):
Okay, I'd rather the uber. You're gonna go to Abercrombie
and get twelve pairs of pants if I say yes
to that, and probably some shorts and some surety, you
know I'm not gonna look at the itemized bill because
I never do. I mean, why would I?

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Oh jesus, how do we feel going into tonight's game?
Because I think a lot of Nick fans would say
this is a house money game, and I say, no,
it's not a house money game. When you haven't been
to the finals since nineteen ninety nine and you so
desperately want to win an NBA championship, I don't view
tonight as a house money game.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
I view tonight as the night the Knicks can win.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
The championship and put the series away and I think
the Knicks are gonna have that exact same attitude.

Speaker 9 (20:57):
I'm not gonna say.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
I'm not saying San Antonio's not going to be a
desperate basketball team.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
They are.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
They know they have to win this game in order
for them to have a shot at winning an NBA title.
But the Knicks also know, and I like this Knicks
team's mentality, they also know, hey we win tonight.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
We go up two oh.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Series is a rap going back to Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 8 (21:19):
I think Knicks fans it's fair if they look at
this game as a house money game, But I don't
think the team goes in with that mentality because if
you told most Knicks fans, hey, before this series starts,
you're going to be coming back to Madison Square Garden
and it's going to be split one one, one hundred
percent of Knicks fans are are taking that almost every time.

(21:40):
But where I think this Knicks team has been different,
and it's kind of shown they've been different this postseason.
Their mentality when when they have teams backed up against
the wall, they'll put your foot on your neck and
crush you like you look at the three closeout games
from Cleveland and Philadelphia and Atlanta have won those closeout

(22:01):
games by an average point of almost forty points per game.
Like this team seems to play their best when you
would expect the other team to be at their most desperate.

Speaker 10 (22:11):
In my opinion, the Knicks had no business winning Game
one after like ten days off agree and then Jalen
Brunson getting hurt twice in the game, like they had
no business winning that game in San Antonio.

Speaker 8 (22:24):
The fact that they got it, this is a step
on their throat game.

Speaker 10 (22:27):
This is a let's end this season, this series before
the Spurs can find themselves getting back into it.

Speaker 7 (22:34):
This is not the game that you want to lose.
I get that.

Speaker 10 (22:37):
You could say it's house money because oh we come
back one to one, But this is not that. This
is this is the time to win, win the whole series.

Speaker 7 (22:44):
Tonight, Game two, the most important game of the series.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
Taylor, I understand what it is you're saying.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
They already get listen, they already set They already accomplished
what they set out to accomplish, which every road team
will tell you win one of two on the road. Okay,
but they won game one, and to Mikey's point, they
didn't play that well in game one. They got the
Spurs got the Knicks like C plus game. We haven't
seen the Knicks a game yet, and granted we haven't

(23:11):
seen the Spurs a game yet. And I suspect the
Knicks know what they're gonna get tonight is san Antonio's
a game. And because this team is so uber competitive,
with Brunson, with heart, with all these guys who have
played together forever, I think they know exactly what they're
stepping into tonight with san Antonio, and they need to
match that intensity. And because they care enough, and because

(23:31):
they don't look at this as a house money game,
they look at this as hey, let's leave no doubt,
let's sweep the Spurs. They will match their intensity because
they are not complacent just being up one game to nothing.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
They want to be up to well going back home.

Speaker 8 (23:45):
It is strange that both teams are going into this
game too saying we're gonna play a lot better than
Game one and let's see who's best is going to
be better than the other team's best. But if you're
the Spurs and the Spurs are saying, hey, we're gonna
be playing better in game two, We've kind of heard
that narrative all playoffs of teams thinking that they're going
to have a response for this next team, and then

(24:06):
next team having this overwhelming response. Like Kenny Atkinson last
series was saying, we're up analytically in this series after
three games. Kenny Atkinson, how did that work out for
you in game four? You didn't even show up in
game four?

Speaker 4 (24:18):
Ye put it on the ball.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
As Kenny Atkinson getting ready right now for Game two
of the NBA Finals.

Speaker 7 (24:25):
Analytically, they're right there.

Speaker 9 (24:29):
I forgot about poor Kenny Atkinson, but he's still a coach.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
So I'll go ahead, Taylor Stu.

Speaker 8 (24:35):
I have a little game here that i'd like to
play with you guys. Okay, Yeah, it's called something or Nothing?

Speaker 4 (24:42):
Oh okay, I like it? Keep going just off the
name alone.

Speaker 8 (24:46):
You're you like it?

Speaker 1 (24:47):
Well?

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Of course?

Speaker 1 (24:48):
Something or Nothing. I've been waiting to play this game
my entire life. Where's it been?

Speaker 4 (24:51):
Go ahead? How do we play it?

Speaker 8 (24:53):
So you'd expect a big response from the Spurs in
game two, But after the Game one loss, Dylan Harper
reposted a TikTok that was slandering Daron Fox, saying that
Daron Fox paid tribute to James Harden with his three
of thirteen statline. Now he on reposted it afterwards, so

(25:14):
it might have been a mistake, but something or nothing.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Wow, I love that Dylan Harper. He's a rookie, right,
I mean, I love this kid. He was their best
player in Game one and somehow they sat him in
the fourth quarter.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
This is something.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
Dylan Harper taking shots at his own teammate for being bad.
James Harden's not a compliment. James Harden's an insult.

Speaker 9 (25:37):
Jim Jimbo.

Speaker 7 (25:40):
This is something. I mean.

Speaker 10 (25:41):
This is because no matter what happens, it was still
on his phone. It was still in his hand, even
if he accidentally reposted it.

Speaker 7 (25:50):
Yes, someone sent it to him to say, hey, check
this out. It's something it's being talked about.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
And more importantly, it's been sent to Daron Fox, so
he knows it's out there and he knows it's kur
see of his teammate, Dylan Harper.

Speaker 8 (26:01):
This is something Taylor, And it wasn't like Harper, you know,
was in the game down the stretch, like he got
benched in favor for Fox. It's it doesn't seem like
it's a coincidence that this is post this is coming
up on his timeline.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
Yes, what a time we live in.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
Dylan Harper sending a message to his coach and doing
so this is really absolutely incredible. He is doing so
not directly but via TikTok. Mikey A has a question
for Taylor. I also need to get to a beef
with Nick fans and Elmo, and plus we have the
poll questions to wrap up the week. Mikey A, what
is your question here for Taylor's We head into a

(26:37):
big game too, Nixon spurs NBA Finals. I want the
Knicks to put it away tonight, but go ahead, Mikeya.

Speaker 10 (26:44):
So, Taylor, we were listening to ad Nan and Stu
Got's talk about how they don't like to be on
Tech's group checks during games and stuff, and I'm wondering,
with you being the way you are during Knicks games,
do you want anybody texting you or are you just
like leave me alone even not being in the same room.

Speaker 8 (27:03):
So, if you're just a casual fan, I don't want
you texting and popping in and checking in with your
ill informed takes. If you're like a diehard Nick fan
and one of my close friends. I don't mind texting
you during the game.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
Okay, so no one can really text you unless they're
a diehard. Just that we're understanding this quite quickly, right,
unless you see them at your level of Nick fandom,
they're not allowed to text you.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
Is that the deal?

Speaker 7 (27:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (27:30):
Like, I don't need somebody texting me like, oh no,
Jalen Brunson rolled his ankle, like, yeah, I'm watching the game.
I could see that. Jalen Brunston rolled his ankle.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
Thanks, Yeah, I got it.

Speaker 7 (27:39):
Yeah, give me the Mendoza line.

Speaker 10 (27:41):
Give me the person that's like this is this is
his best a Nick fan that can't text me?

Speaker 4 (27:45):
I think it's me? I do I think it's me.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
I have a feeling that it's me because he views
himself as a bigger Nick fan than I am, even
though I've been rooting for this team for forty five years.

Speaker 9 (27:54):
I mean, it's unbelievable.

Speaker 8 (27:56):
Yeah, you took a convenient like ten to fifteen years
off where you started rooting for Mario Chalmers and those boys.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
Yeah, yep.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
When Carolina has down years, I mean, are you rooting
the same way as you are when they're having great years?

Speaker 4 (28:11):
Seriously, who does that. No one does.

Speaker 8 (28:14):
Well, I haven't had kids yet, so my level of
fandom hasn't really slipped off.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
Sure, are you blaming it on the kids? Is that
what you're doing there?

Speaker 7 (28:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (28:22):
It seems like everybody's point of like when their fandom
really takes a dip. It's either like your team wins
a title and you stop caring less, or that you
have kids and you start caring less.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
For me, it was kids priorities change.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
It's not about not loving sports as much as I
used to, which just my priorities have shifted where sports
is no longer the most important thing in my life.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
They used to be now it's my children. I apologize,
I guess.

Speaker 10 (28:46):
I mean, so is it Nicks or is this like
every team? So like Yankees are in the World Series?
You want people texting you or it doesn't matter.

Speaker 7 (28:55):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (28:55):
For the most part, I, like I said with add In,
I isolate during the game. Ideally my phone is off
to the side and it's like on do not Disturb
and I'm not even thinking about my phone, Like during timeouts,
I'll go to Twitter and just check to see what
people are talking about. But in terms of communicating with people,
I already really don't like communicating with people, so we know,

(29:17):
during a game that I care about, I want to
communicate even less.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
EPJSON is familiar with your work. EPJSON, come to the microphone.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
Please.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Has Taylor been ignoring your text during Knicks games? I mean,
what's going on here?

Speaker 12 (29:28):
You know we have a show group text right, and
I sent some A plus material the other night in
the middle of the first quarter, and just for the listeners.
Because it's A plus material, I feel compelled to read it.
This is this is what I wrote to you, guys.
I wonder what David Stern would say if he was
told that the New York Knicks would be playing in
their first NBA Finals in twenty seven years and they'd

(29:49):
be wearing their traditional home whites and their starting center
would be wearing lime green and fluorescent yellow sneakers. I mean,
that's hilarious material ignored by the room. I'm wondering for Taylor.
Is this the problem that I violate the rule of
texting you during the game.

Speaker 8 (30:06):
You sure did listen. I'm going to battle. I'm going
to war right now. I can't be thinking about what
David Stern would be thinking.

Speaker 4 (30:14):
And also Jason, I hate to tell.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
You you're not at his level. Do you understand what
he's saying. He doesn't view you as a Nick fan.
He doesn't want to hear from you. I mean, he
likes you and he respects you, but he doesn't want
to hear from you during a Knicks game.

Speaker 9 (30:25):
That's all.

Speaker 5 (30:25):
That's fair.

Speaker 4 (30:26):
That's fair.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
Okay, okay, just so you know, same with me, that
same with mikey A. And really is he knows the
most basketball of all of us and he doesn't.

Speaker 9 (30:34):
Want to hear from him. I'm not even certain if
Charles Oakley texted.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
Him eat respond.

Speaker 7 (30:39):
I mean, he's not on Taylor's level.

Speaker 4 (30:44):
What is going on?

Speaker 1 (30:45):
Nick fans are very sensitive right now and they'll look
for anyone to argue with. By the way, what do
you guys make of Colin Cowhort saying you open the
show that I saying the Knicks lovable team.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
Gotta love this team.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
I don't want to hear from him. I don't want
to hear from these people, Siri, who have made fun
of the Knicks and their fan base for a couple
of decades. Now and now because we have this lovable
team that is somehow scrappy underdogs on the verge of
winning an NBA championship. I don't want to hear how
lovable they are. You hated them for two decades, You
made fun of me and Nick fans for two decades.

(31:19):
You cannot jump on the bandwagon, not now. I am sorry.

Speaker 7 (31:23):
Now.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Don't want to hear from Colin, and I certainly don't
want to hear from anyone else who wasn't a Nick
fan who made fun of Nick Vans for the last
two decades.

Speaker 8 (31:31):
Go ahead, Taylor, Yeah, I have sound clips of Colin
Coward that will get for Monday, of him at the
start of the playoffs saying that Jalen Brunson isn't a
superstar that could take a team to a title, which
is kind of weird. We're three games away from said title.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
Yes, well, in his defense, you closed your eyes once
and said you couldn't see Karl Anthony Towns winning a
championship with the Knicks to you right, because you're on
the level. Yes, you are the level a lot. What
has going quickly before the polls? What is going on
all with Nick fans at Elmo.

Speaker 8 (32:01):
So Elmo tweeted out before Game one. Elmo hopes both
teams have fun and New Yorkers are enraged because Elmo
Sesame Street is in New York. Elmo, show some loyalty
to your city one time and just tweet out.

Speaker 9 (32:15):
Let's go Nick, we're looking for anyone. If it's not Colin,
it's Almo.

Speaker 10 (32:23):
Somebody's gonna throw Oscar that grouch through his front window
or something.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
We are so sensitive, ads to God seven in the
odd Ax. Let's wrap up the week the way we
always do with the poll results.

Speaker 4 (32:34):
Taylor, go ahead, take it away. I'll look at that.
I was saying with music Man.

Speaker 8 (32:39):
Do the Rams lead the league in going all in?

Speaker 7 (32:42):
Yes? I mean yes, I've got you discute it.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
They're all in. I mean no, one's more all in
every year than the Ram.

Speaker 8 (32:49):
Overwhelming ninety seven percent. What sounds better coach fire or
coach sacked?

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Coach sack, No question about it. Yeah, it's a soccer
term right where they sacked the coach? Yes, I like
sack better. Mikey, you like sack better? Yeah, I think
it's an English term, not a soccer Termah okay, sorry,
same thing.

Speaker 8 (33:11):
Seventy two percent of the audience said sacked sounds better.

Speaker 5 (33:14):
All right.

Speaker 8 (33:16):
Should the World Cup have to wait to start until
the next season is over?

Speaker 4 (33:20):
Yep, it should. We've been waiting for this for a
long time.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
I don't like this, no rest between games, shortened scheduled. Nope,
let's take our time and enjoy this. What are we
going to rush for to see? No goals go ahead?

Speaker 8 (33:31):
Sixty four percent of the audience said yes, it should wait.

Speaker 7 (33:35):
Good audience.

Speaker 8 (33:37):
Statue of liberty. What a weird gift.

Speaker 9 (33:41):
I forgot about that.

Speaker 7 (33:44):
Michelle Beatley.

Speaker 8 (33:48):
Seventy five percent of the audience said yes, yep. Final
poll this week was the Was that the greatest three
point game in NBA history? By Josh Harten.

Speaker 5 (33:57):
It was yeah, no doubt, yes.

Speaker 8 (34:00):
Sixty one percent of the audience said yes. Those are
the polls.

Speaker 4 (34:03):
All right, those are the balls. Have a great weekend, everyone.

Speaker 5 (34:06):
Go next.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gotson Company
Live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Let's get to the weekend observations. Iowa, Sam, give me
my song?

Speaker 5 (34:31):
Well for sure he was going to play the Hotel
ob Day Byer.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Four years ago, she retired from her sport because only
her daughter wanted a little sister. She could have asked
for a bike, but nah, she asked for a little sister.
And Dan Bayern women's tennis has been a snoozefest ever

(35:03):
since she left soccer. Like some would say, no offense
to Cocoa or Osaka or any other major winner we
can't remember. But tennis needs her so just like that, Dan,
make no mistake about it. At forty four years old
and only starting off in doubles, but still Serena Williams

(35:28):
is back.

Speaker 5 (35:29):
Yeah, she'll like Brown, how to do.

Speaker 4 (35:31):
It at four doubles?

Speaker 5 (35:32):
Huh yeah, at least to start really back? Yeah, like
halfway back.

Speaker 4 (35:37):
You know she's back. Yeah, she's led by tennis segments.

Speaker 7 (35:44):
She's Bath.

Speaker 6 (35:45):
There's a match going on at the French Open right
now with the women's number one seed, and Serena led
my tennis segment in my offence.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
Right, well of course, right, that's why tennis needs her
back or bat speaking up Bath obj to the giants
w one moment hall of fame so true.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
The farther the.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
Further we get away from it, the more we realize
that man is a one moment Hall of fame.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
I think it's his Hall of fame, like it's his
like he's he's first, he's first ballot, and I think
OBJ has to allow everyone.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
Else who's at a moment into that Hall of fame.
He votes by himself.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
I say that still frame is definitely like in the
on the doors that open up as you go into
the one moment hall of fame.

Speaker 5 (36:26):
Yes, Bill Buckner, Oh bad moment of shame.

Speaker 8 (36:30):
Yeah, it's still one moment.

Speaker 4 (36:31):
Yeah, but the one moment hall of shame is different.

Speaker 5 (36:33):
Yeah, connect to it.

Speaker 6 (36:34):
Yeah, the Giants signed, they may sign Lawrence Taylor to
distance themselves with this Jackson dark stuff.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
Somebody should tell the Spurs that wasn't the finals.

Speaker 5 (36:47):
It's so emotional. Jesus, that is not Larry O'Brien.

Speaker 4 (36:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
The only person who hates Oklahoma City more than NBA
fans is Victor Webbin Yama. If you told Victor Webin
Yama he could win a title or beat Chet Holmgren,
he'd pick beating Chet every time.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
I don't think anybody has hated a skinny person this
much in their lives.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
He holds onto this stuff, man, and I love it.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
He lost the one once like ten years ago in
an international game and he still hasn't gotten over it.

Speaker 5 (37:21):
He has his teammates dunking on him and pushing him.
It's just hilarious.

Speaker 1 (37:24):
Yep, chet Holm grin hit a weight room. You know
what the agent Holmegren stands for. It stands for hit
a weight room.

Speaker 5 (37:34):
Just one.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Chet Holmgren is the Michael Jordan of Ben simmons Is.

Speaker 4 (37:43):
It's a tough one. I got it out somehow.

Speaker 5 (37:45):
Who doesn't want to shoot more Ben Simmons or Cheed Holmgren.

Speaker 4 (37:48):
Yes, I'm really digging deep Tailor.

Speaker 12 (37:50):
I have to.

Speaker 4 (37:50):
You know, I've been hosting shows since ten am this morning.

Speaker 5 (37:53):
Unbuttoned with Chris Sims.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
Every night before he goes to bed, Chet Holmgren checks
under his bed for Victor Webbin Yama.

Speaker 5 (38:02):
I'm pretty sure he'd be sticking out right.

Speaker 9 (38:07):
So Chet's got a long bed though he does.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
Yeah, he's got one of the special one Like if
Victor's gonna hide under a bed, it would be Chet's.

Speaker 5 (38:13):
Yes, weird visual.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
Anyway, if you told me Justin Champenny was the second
pick of his draft and Chet Holmgren went undrafted, I would.

Speaker 5 (38:29):
Believe you absolutely true.

Speaker 7 (38:31):
Man.

Speaker 5 (38:31):
It is so.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
I told people when they drafted Chet Holmgren, I don't
know where I follow him for this. That guy might
put on a show, maybe make an All Star team,
but man, he's not gonna be that good.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
The Spurs beat the Thunder eight times this season. You
know what the Spurs had, Dan?

Speaker 6 (38:44):
Their number?

Speaker 7 (38:45):
There?

Speaker 4 (38:45):
It is wow?

Speaker 1 (38:47):
On fresh off vacation, they had O Casey's number.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
What happened there?

Speaker 1 (38:52):
Yes, if Spurs Thunder was hockey, Jalen Williams and Aj
Mitchell playing that game, they do.

Speaker 4 (39:01):
They're not hockey players, is he?

Speaker 10 (39:02):
Now?

Speaker 5 (39:02):
You're right.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
Luke Cornett having the biggest moment of the game blocking
Isaiah Hartenstein at the rim, White on White crime.

Speaker 5 (39:15):
What a moment though, What a moment. There was somebody
from the Spurs bench that yelled.

Speaker 9 (39:20):
Was that Lebron James?

Speaker 5 (39:22):
It was an amazing moment?

Speaker 8 (39:23):
White on halfwaye right?

Speaker 7 (39:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (39:26):
Right, yes, you got something there, Dan?

Speaker 5 (39:28):
No, okay?

Speaker 4 (39:30):
Is that Luke Cornett going into the One Moment Hall
of Fame?

Speaker 7 (39:33):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (39:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
He he did stop that night happening at the Atlanta
Hawks right, Magic City night?

Speaker 5 (39:38):
So he has two moments?

Speaker 4 (39:39):
Oh damn it. Sorry, I'm sorry, Taylor.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
Luke Cornett, the rare player to stop both Magic City
Night and O Casey's dreams of repeating it's not your fault,
is he?

Speaker 4 (39:48):
It's fine?

Speaker 5 (39:50):
Poor game management, understandable.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
Thunder blowing a three to two league with home court advantage.
Oklahoma more like Chokeklahoma. Oklahoma City the rare dynasty that lasted.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
Just a season, but man, what a dynasty. People were
so scared by draft picks. I know now I'm scared
of Wenby. I mean, jeez, that guy doesn't.

Speaker 4 (40:22):
Care about the Mecca. You don't care chet problem.

Speaker 7 (40:25):
When you're the.

Speaker 4 (40:25):
Best player in the planet, you don't care where you play.
It's unbelievable. Terrified of it.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
When Oklahoma City loses, America wins. Darryl Moury once waived
Justin Champenny from the Sixers so Mac McClung could enter
the dunk contest, the.

Speaker 4 (40:47):
M and Moury. Dan, you know what it stands for?

Speaker 5 (40:50):
Moron?

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (40:51):
Wow, Wow, Seriously, I had thirty six on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (40:58):
I'm feeling it right now.

Speaker 8 (41:00):
Golful vitalized Dan Byre.

Speaker 4 (41:03):
Great job. You wouldn't even huh thirty six over eighteen holes?

Speaker 7 (41:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (41:11):
No, I did thirty six holes. Wait thirty six you
were even after thirty six holes?

Speaker 8 (41:15):
No?

Speaker 9 (41:16):
You put the evening.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
I listen, I'm tired, ten am, I've been hot and
shows Dan, I'm sorry about that. It's on me. It's
a bet. Listen, bad game manager? Right, the unbuttoned podcast?

Speaker 5 (41:27):
Why what's that about? Even? Where was it?

Speaker 1 (41:34):
If I'm Philadelphia, I would rehire Darryl Moury just to
fire him again.

Speaker 5 (41:41):
Double second, put it on the pole tailor.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
If you were Philadelphia, would you rehire Darryl Moury just
to fire him again?

Speaker 5 (41:49):
I would, Well, you're at it's Sam Hinky, hire him.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
Back the process.

Speaker 1 (41:54):
Thunder Knicks would have been too much blue and orange?

Speaker 5 (42:00):
Howzy he who looked that he just gave me My
mind had blown. My mind had blown that I had
not thought of that whatsoever. Talk about a lack of
a color, class man. I wish it would have happened. No, no, no, no,
saved it for colors everywhere.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
When the Spurs beat the thunder I turned to Abby
and said, basketball has been saved. She said what, and
I said Wemby. He said basketball and she said what
and I said nevermund.

Speaker 5 (42:33):
See it's a man, he's seven to four.

Speaker 3 (42:35):
He's a monk part of the time that is now
owning all of basketball.

Speaker 5 (42:39):
Do you understand now that.

Speaker 1 (42:40):
Guy Cornett he checks his bed und your bed every
night before he goes to sleep.

Speaker 9 (42:45):
Why he say basketball?

Speaker 5 (42:46):
What homegrin?

Speaker 8 (42:47):
But whatever, whatever, Cornett's on We's team.

Speaker 7 (42:50):
Whatever.

Speaker 4 (42:51):
I don't care. I mean, yes, un buttoned podcast.

Speaker 7 (42:54):
Now he's hosting two shows.

Speaker 4 (42:56):
I've got to be honest.

Speaker 1 (42:57):
I got emotional just seeing a design of the LARRYO
Brought Ryan trophy on the court at Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 4 (43:03):
That's a big I did. I got emotional. Now I
didn't write this. Taylor did.

Speaker 1 (43:07):
He got emotional, But I will tell you and I
will back him up. When I saw it, I too
got emotional.

Speaker 8 (43:12):
Is that it is the first time I've ever shed
a tear over a rendering.

Speaker 5 (43:17):
Shed a tear just so we don't have to dump.

Speaker 1 (43:19):
That spurs Nicks a nineteen ninety nine NBA Finals rematch
and more importantly a twenty twenty six NBA Cup rematch.

Speaker 5 (43:31):
Huge, huge. I think Victor wimbin Yama has that like
yees motivation.

Speaker 4 (43:36):
Yes, that's his chip, yes, chip on her shoulder.

Speaker 9 (43:41):
Guys always got a chip. He's about to get a.

Speaker 5 (43:45):
Chip, working on it. Yes, telling it like that. It's
just though. No, he's going to New York. Hef for cares.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
Bad day for everybody who says the NBA Cup doesn't matter.

Speaker 5 (43:59):
I would say that it's a trophy involved.

Speaker 4 (44:02):
Taylor and I have never said it.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
Tell me Taylor wrote this one. I'll tell him me, Taylor,
I never even thought it. I gotta be honest with you.
The Knicks should hang the NBA Cup banner before Game three.

Speaker 5 (44:15):
We've changed our mind. We're hanging the banner. Oh my god.
That is such a good idea, is he?

Speaker 8 (44:22):
I think the only way you could put that banner
up in good faith is if you win the title
the same year. Because it's like, oh, they have a
twenty twenty six banner Cup banner, but they also have
a twenty twenty six finals banner.

Speaker 4 (44:35):
Where you need one.

Speaker 8 (44:36):
Without the other.

Speaker 5 (44:37):
You know what you get?

Speaker 3 (44:37):
You get great attendance at a preseason game and you say, hey,
we're gonna raise our ist banner or an NBA Cup
banner for the first home preseason home game.

Speaker 7 (44:45):
Right there you go?

Speaker 1 (44:45):
Yes, Nicks Spurs one team led by a six to
two guard the other team led by a seven to
four alien, a modern day David versus Goliath Paris Saint Germaine.
I was asking win's the Champions League victor webin Yama

(45:10):
to the finals.

Speaker 4 (45:11):
All the while the French Open is going on.

Speaker 1 (45:14):
You know what France is having Dan quite a month,
A moment, yes, yes, one moment.

Speaker 4 (45:22):
Hall of fame France, yes, Canadian.

Speaker 7 (45:26):
Hall of fame for Dan Byer.

Speaker 6 (45:27):
You're right, there were two, Sure, yeah, there were two.

Speaker 7 (45:31):
You're right man.

Speaker 5 (45:33):
In French it's an instant, but he shot a thirty six.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
Even Canadian hockey teams better luck next.

Speaker 3 (45:42):
Year or the year after that or the year after that.
It's gonna be a while. I don't think you guys
are going to get a cup any time soon.

Speaker 4 (45:48):
Bad for Canada.

Speaker 5 (45:49):
I don't know, you don't.

Speaker 4 (45:50):
You're right, Caitlyn Clark overrated.

Speaker 5 (45:54):
I mean, I'm saying said it.

Speaker 4 (45:57):
Listen, I'm not. We love Caitlyn Bok.

Speaker 3 (45:59):
Let's speak for your so she's a right. I don't
like the way she talked to her coach.

Speaker 7 (46:04):
Is that it.

Speaker 4 (46:07):
Skip Bayless.

Speaker 1 (46:10):
Falling for a fake report that the Fever fired their coach,
only to then say, well, it's only a matter of
time until they do so, Skip Bayless, the Stugotts is
very very strong in.

Speaker 5 (46:24):
You man will never be wrong.

Speaker 4 (46:26):
Dan, You know what the yes and skip baalss stands
for what's that stud? It stands for Stucotts.

Speaker 1 (46:35):
The San Francisco Giants, MLB's lowest scoring offense, scored a
season high nineteen runs.

Speaker 4 (46:42):
You know what they call that, Dano? What's that baseball?

Speaker 5 (46:47):
That's baseball? Did they win that game?

Speaker 4 (46:51):
I have no idea.

Speaker 8 (46:52):
I'm assuming they want.

Speaker 4 (46:52):
I mean, you can't lose a game when you score
nineteen runs, can you.

Speaker 7 (46:55):
Well?

Speaker 3 (46:56):
I was watching yesterday. I didn't see it wasn't on
TV at least I couldn't get it. But the Gators
against I think Ryder or Troy, Gators versus Troy and baseball.
And I did that thing where I just covered up
one of the team scores and only looked at my
team score. When I checked the final, I was like, wow,
eleven runs they must have won. Nope, Troy scored sixteen.

Speaker 5 (47:12):
And that's baseball, and that's baseball.

Speaker 7 (47:16):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (47:17):
Texas deck quarterback Brendan Soarsby should hire a translator and
blame him for his gambling problem.

Speaker 4 (47:30):
You know what the es and swordsby stands for?

Speaker 7 (47:33):
Dan?

Speaker 4 (47:35):
What it stands for? Show?

Speaker 5 (47:36):
Hey, o Toddy, show me the way show.

Speaker 7 (47:40):
Hey.

Speaker 1 (47:41):
If you were not watching college softball, you're missing out.
We have this argument every time, like every year at
this time, right the college softball playoffs, the World Series.

Speaker 4 (47:53):
It's the greatest thing going in sports. No one cares.

Speaker 1 (47:56):
I mean, I gotta be honest. It might be exciting
I watch it, but then we forget about it. This
second Miles Garrett is traded.

Speaker 4 (48:01):
I mean, that's it.

Speaker 8 (48:03):
I cannot get enough of this Texas Tech team and
Miah Williams, Jason Williams's daughter, they are so electric.

Speaker 5 (48:12):
Yeah, that's my guy. It will baby.

Speaker 7 (48:14):
I know why chocolate.

Speaker 1 (48:17):
College softball letting pitchers re enter a game electric whatcher?

Speaker 8 (48:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (48:24):
You like that? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (48:25):
No, why I don't like that?

Speaker 4 (48:27):
It's just what I mean.

Speaker 5 (48:28):
And the softball.

Speaker 3 (48:29):
Baseball whicheveryone you want, it's always been Hey, one time
for the picture.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
That's it, right, But imagine you take like Cam Schlitzler out, Okay,
you take him out in the six, he gets a
couple of innings, rest, and then.

Speaker 4 (48:38):
You want to bring him back in the night. That
would be electric. It would be I'm with Taylor on that.

Speaker 8 (48:43):
So the UCLA Texas Tech game went nine innings yesterday.
I don't know if I just got got by the graphic.
The UCLA pitcher pitched the entire game. She threw like
two hundred pitches, and then Texas Tech made like five
or six pitching changes and they only had two pitchers.
They just kept going back and forth between the two girls.

Speaker 3 (49:00):
Yeah, it's not that unnatural emotions. Emotion as it is, right,
you know, overhand throwing, so you can get away with
long outings.

Speaker 1 (49:07):
Headline Liverpool sack, Arnie slought his head coach. You know
what the essence slot stands for, Dan, what's that sacked?

Speaker 5 (49:18):
It's lilmore enthusiasm, Dan.

Speaker 4 (49:20):
No, he's annoyed. He's annoyed now because he was two
for two and now.

Speaker 5 (49:23):
He's opened the rooms, played thirty six.

Speaker 1 (49:27):
Even saying you sacked your coach sounds so much better
than saying.

Speaker 4 (49:32):
You fired your coach. Ah put it on the ball tailor.

Speaker 3 (49:35):
Yeah, kind of sounds like you slept with your coach.
I sacked my coach. I like sacking the coach.

Speaker 1 (49:41):
I do I did think I have US men's national
team do it at the World Cup.

Speaker 4 (49:48):
When's that thing start? Seriously, when's the start?

Speaker 5 (49:51):
In two weeks?

Speaker 8 (49:53):
Right?

Speaker 7 (49:53):
Can't wait?

Speaker 8 (49:54):
They should pause it until the next are out.

Speaker 4 (49:56):
How long is it? By the way, the World Cup?
Good month, the plants on vacation at least a month?
All right, four weeks off. To anybody getting their hopes
up about the US men's.

Speaker 1 (50:08):
National team, do me a favor and do yourself a favor.

Speaker 4 (50:14):
Stop hang on, I care about you.

Speaker 5 (50:17):
Taylor thought they're electric.

Speaker 8 (50:20):
They are so good going forward. It is shocking how
good they are going forwards.

Speaker 5 (50:25):
When they have to back up and defend that, it's
a problem and.

Speaker 4 (50:27):
They park the bus. That's the question.

Speaker 8 (50:29):
They are terrible in defense. And we still don't know
who the goalie is. But right now it looks like
every score is going to be like a five to
four score line.

Speaker 4 (50:38):
I'll believe it when I see no chance. It's five four.

Speaker 1 (50:43):
Jesus electric four, like a year's worth of goals.

Speaker 4 (50:50):
Believing in this US soccer team. What the hell are
you think?

Speaker 1 (50:55):
Speaking to hell or Briles, Dan Buyer, those are the
we can observation
