This is the best of Stu Gotson Company Live on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Taylor put it on the pole.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
How long would you go if your significant other went.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Missing before you called law enforcement?

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Three days, five days, seven days, ten days.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Where do you think Abby's breaking point would be for you?

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Well? Past ten days?

Speaker 1 (00:37):
I mean, I'm not certain she has a breaking point.
What would your breaking point be for me? Would you
start looking for me?

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (00:46):
I would have to the show. You are the straw
that stirs the drink when it comes to this show, right,
So I would desperately need you, because then it would
just be me looking at the camera and looking at
the microphone and be like I could field time talking
about the Yankees, like Camp Schlitzler, My god, pa, what
a start last night?

Speaker 3 (01:04):
And that's all you have right there? That's it?

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Huh want to start Cam Schlitzler, my god, pow exactly,
no reason to expand. I can't wait to We're at
the American Century Championships here late Tahoe. I can't wait
to have David Wells on because I want to ask
him about you saying no for Cam, I.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Just did it, Gam Schlittler, for Paul Skeids.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
I want to see what David Wells's reaction to that is.
I want to see what Gary Sheffield's reaction.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
To that is. We are out in Lake Tahoe, the
American Century Championships.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
It's beautiful. It's the same day. Every day, every single
day is the same day. I am looking right across
at Dan Patrick's set.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
We are right off the driving range. This is where
we like to be. But I'm wondering at all.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Taylor, I was talking to Polly Paps earlier, his executive producer.
Are you jealous at all of Dan Patrick's set? I mean,
just it's big. I mean, so it's a Hall of
Fame set. I mean for a Hall of Famer.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
I'm the only reason I'm jealous of it is just
because of size and stature. It reminds me of our
setup for Super Bowl Week on Radio Row, where it's
the first thing that draws your eyes when you come
out here. How big his setup is? Yeah, and then
we're on this on this table. But again we're there's
nothing you could do this week to get me to

(02:20):
complain outside of the US men's national team soccer team,
because that will get me to complain outside of that.
In terms of how I'm feeling here this week, nothing
can get my vibes down.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
But we love this table because we love where it's situated.
It is right next to the driving range. The players
have to walk past.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Us, they have to get on the range, they have
to walk.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Past us to get off the range. We're going to
have Adam feeling on later. We're gonna have the kachuksa
on taping with them later on, both of them. The
brothers are very excited about that. But this is our place.
It suits me and you it does you know. Yeah,
if we were there, there's expectation that comes with a
stage like that. Here, there is zero expectation. We're here

(02:58):
where at the picnic table, the plastic thing covering the play,
you know, the pic it's it's green, it's gross, and
I love it and I wouldn't want to be anywhere
else because there is an unreasonable expectation that Dan Patrick
has by being on such a big set, you know.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
So when we come out here to Tahoe, do you
have any goals or expectations for the week or do
you Is it just a lazy river for you? Whatever
happens happened.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
It's a lazy river. Whatever happens happens.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Like I have a pretty good idea of who we're
going to get on, when we're going to get them on,
and anything past that's just kind of gravy, you know.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
For me, I have a personal goal and then I
have a show goal.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
You seem way more organized than confident this year, and
I'm proud of you. I just wanted you to I
want listen. We came out here a year ago, Taylor
and I. We had no radio partner. Now we have
a national radio show on in over two hundred and
fifty markets. Okay, we didn't have any sponsor, and now
we have FanDuel. Like I am super you are a
way more confident person, an organized person than you were

(03:56):

Speaker 3 (03:57):
But I wanted you to know that, Taylor.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
I wanted the audience to know that you hung in
there with me, and I hung in there with you.
And a year later, a year removed from being here,
it was a rogue operation last year. I mean rogue
as rogue could be okay. But now we have a
radios show nationally syndicated on Fox Sports Radio. We have

(04:19):
partnerships with iHeart and FanDuel, and I just wanted you
to know that I am proud of you, my friend.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
That's all. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Yes, you got it. Now what you do with that?
I have no idea camp Schlittler, great start, man, So
which one do you want first? My personal goal is.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
I'm expecting a longer thank you. I had to be
honest with you.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
But that's okay, my personal goal or my professional goal
for the.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Week, whatever you want, go ahead, it's your show.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
My personal goal for the week, and it comes off
of last year. Yes, last year, the first day in Tahoe,
the Sun absolutely beat me down.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Well it's beating me down right now.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
The Sun won the first round, yes, at ten to
seven round. It was a clean, a clean ten to seven.
They knocked me down a couple of times.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Yes, the judget scored at ten to seven.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
Son right, Yes, there was there was somebody who was
helping us produce last year that was in our corner
and saying, man, we should probably throw in the towel.
That's how bad the suit is beating him.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
By the way, I just called you by accident. Sorry
anyway you were saying.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
So my goal this year personally is just be more prepared.
Last year I didn't even come with a hat. This year,
I have a hat. Last year, I didn't have sunscreen.
This year I have sunscreen. Yes, so two for two already.
Like personal goal, I wanted to set the bar very low,
much like Christian Pulisic being the best player for the
US men's national team, Steve Steve Rodgers, Yes exactly. The

(05:43):
bar was so low for my personal goals that I
was going to crush them no matter what, because all
I needed was a hat and sunscreen. The professional goal
is a little bit tougher. I want to bury the
hatchet this this week with the Rich eison.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Okay, so how are we going to do that?

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Because Rich Eisen is someone that I mean, listen, I
have said some things about him. I've called him Rich
lies in because I feel like he stole some of
my ideas. And I'm saying this, I'm speaking softly here
because Rich could be hanging around, he could be anywhere.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
At this point, I have no idea.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
But Taylor has been telling me for a while that
Rich Eisen is someone I should be friends with, that
we should be kindred spirits, that Rich Eiesen is a
Long Island guy, He's a Jets fan. He is I
feel like I'm talking like Rich Eisen right now. But
he and I have been feuding and I tried to
bury it last year. I did, you saw me. I

(06:32):
tried to do it. I don't think Rich wanted anything
to do with it. But anyway, carry on. So what's
going on with Isien here?

Speaker 4 (06:38):
So your your main complaint of Rich Eisen is that
you feel like he's stolen some of your ideas in
the past.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Just the magic at bad that's it. But it's okay.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
I listen, I have stolen a million ideas from Rich Eisen.
He just doesn't know about it. I mean, how about that?

Speaker 4 (06:51):
So the problem with trying to bury the hatchet with
Rich Eyesen this this time in Tahoe. Yeah, last week,
I'm watching the Rich Eysen choke.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Like you said, I have no problem with rich Eisen.
You're telling me I should be friends with riches exactly.
So I'm watching and I've heard Richison is a wonderful man.
I've heard very good things about him. He just won't
let me in. I mean, so I'm.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
Watching the Rich Eisen Show Steve Gotts. He starts a segment.
It was his top five observations about the World Cup.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
I mean virtualizing Jesus.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
That felt.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Did he have beeps? No? No, he just did it straight.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
No, it was his top five observations about the World
Cup as seen through the eyes of a casual soccer fan.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Oh really, okay, And you feel like I've trade moreked
observations period and the discussion.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Right, I mean I have it legally, but you feel
like they're mine. Right.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
It's like the iceman Caleb Williams can't have it because
of George Gervins, even though he doesn't have a patent
for it exactly.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
And then you have this situation where you've built a
career off your your observations. I almost called them what
they what they used to be called dangerous gay. Yes,
that's a whole other top Enrichison could getting a seasoned
assist letter.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
He's not calling on weekend, is he?

Speaker 5 (08:09):
No?

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Just soccer observations.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
It was just it was just his top five soccer observation.
So I think they're they're good. Yeah, they were good observations.
So there's two ways that we could we could look
at this.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
I want to bury this hatchet.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
I'm telling you right now, I don't care that he
stole observations from me.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Okay, that was exactly what I was going to say.
There's two ways we could we could handle he could
be petty about him taking observations, or you could be
the bigger man in this situation and say, Rich, my
observations are your observation. We're in Tahoe, make yourself at
home if you like any if you like, if you
want to do a sports whisper segment, Rich Eisen.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
You could have the sports to all your sex, buddy. Yep.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
So that's I think that's the approach.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
We go.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Okay, so is there a segment that he does that
you like that we could steal just out of curry
out and you're right, like, tell Eysen, whatever's what's mine
is his.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
That's what sports radio is all about. There are no
original ideas.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Okay, they've all been taken and so like you know,
whether it's Mike Greenberg, whether it's Colin Cowherd, whether it's
Dan Patrick. I have stolen from every single one of them,
and I will steal from them again. But they need
to admit that they have stolen from me, and they
will steal from me again.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
But I am good with that. I am good with sharing.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
But doesn't Richison have like a staple segment that he does,
because I want to see if he gets offended if
we do his segment.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Do they do something like a high pitch or something
like that? Not so share?

Speaker 4 (09:34):
So I'm gonna have to make a I'm gonna have
to put my hand on.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
I've got a good show. By the way, I enjoy
his radio program. I do.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
I'm gonna put my hand up here because I said
that I listen regularly to Rich Eisen show.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
You've never listened.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
I've never listened.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
You thought I was proud of you five minutes ago.
I've never been prouder of you that I am right now.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
So if anybody's seen Rich Eison show and could tell
us what his signature segments are, I'm sure they're great.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
I know.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
It's like, I'm not even sure they're great. I know
they're great. We know he's great, and we know the
show is great.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
He does something called upper register, like okay, you know
what I'm saying, Like they say it in a weird
upper registered voice like that, so sure, you know, like
kind of that, they finish their sentence with a flurry.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
It's it's you want to steal it.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
I mean, we could try that.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
It's like Christian Polisic. I'm trying to think of how
to do it really Captain America. But that's how they
do it. I'm telling you, I listened to the show.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
I'm like you, I can't believe that came back in
my face that quick.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
You know.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
It's like kind of those those conversations you have in
the shadows. It's almost like the sports whisper. Now that
I'm thinking about it, maybe you stole it from me.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
Yea.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
But just to be clear, we love Rich Eisen, Yeah,
we want to bury the hatchway.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
And we love his whole crew. The show is fantastic.
Tailors never listen to it.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
I'm sure it's a great crew, but it's like stuff
you know, Bill Belichick, little overrated. That's how they do it. Yes, yeah,
but you have to do it in that voice. It's
like an upper register.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
Yeah, it's like you're saying something that you don't really
want too many people to know about. In the upper register.
Really hammers at home. You know your point. I don't
know why they do it, but that's what they do.
I'm telling you.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
The more you're talking about this segment, the more it
sounds like the sports.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
The further you are away from listening to his show.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
Live weekday said three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
I have to get to this Yannis story, but Taylor
is still watching soccer. I stopped watching soccer like most
of you the second the United States choked to Belgium.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
That was a bad loss. So I can't get over it.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Just it's okay to lose, just to lose in a
way that's so embarrassing that I can't even be proud
of this soccer team for reaching the round of sixteen.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Just enough enough of men's soccer anyway.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
I am told something else happened in the World Cup today,
but again I wouldn't know because I stopped watching soccer.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
What happened to him?

Speaker 4 (12:15):
So Egypt and Argentina are playing their Round of sixteen game. Yeah,
Egypt gets off to a blistering start.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Stude.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Yeah, they score, it's one new. Wow, they score again.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
They go to VR. Of course they go to VR.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Well they do, yes, But VAR has been, you know,
the star of the tournament thus far, the var of
the tournament.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
One might say. Yes.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
So they go to VR and we have.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
A cameraman who just shook his head because it was
such a bad joke.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
It's a joke I told yesterday.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Matt is his name, and he didn't like the joke
and he made like he made a face like he
had just drank sour milk. You know, the var of
the tournament. It's all I got for you. I mean,
so love you man.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
They go to VR. They disallow Egypt's second goal. Right,
Egypt comes back almost instantaneously, right, and they score a
second goal for good this time.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
So they took one away and then they got one back. Huh. Yeah,
so they're up to nothing. They're up.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
That'sact being up twenty one and nothing in an NFL game.
It is, I mean kind of but also.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
You know what they say about two nil leads?

Speaker 3 (13:18):
What do they say?

Speaker 4 (13:18):
It's the worst lead to have.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Why do they say that.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
Because you start to let your guard down a little.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
I see, Yes, you're you're.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
Flying high with momentum. It's a lot easier to slip up.
Once you go up to nil.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
You're starting to think about things you shouldn't be thinking.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
About, like who we're going to play next round and
all that, right, Like, hey, we're about to beat Argentina.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Correct, correct?

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Right, So then you can't let that slip into your head.
You can't do it.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
It's too nil.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Right.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
Argentina scores in the seventy ninth.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Minute Wow against the parked bus. Uh.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Christian Romero scores for Argentina.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
Right, he's good.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
And this is already at the point where Messi has
already missed a penalty at this point, okay them and Messi.
You know what it stands for, Missy?

Speaker 3 (14:03):
That wasn't a sour milk log.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
What does he stand for, Taylor? It stands for misde penalty? Okay, well, messy,
more like missy. That's where I was going.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
So then it's two to one, right, and you could
feel the momentum shifting back towards the Argentina side.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Okay, the egypt side.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
Holding on for dear life, right, Messi scores in the
eighty third minute. Oh wow, he equalizes in the eighty
third minute. Now it's too two. Yes, and you know
what happens once it's two two.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
What happens?

Speaker 1 (14:32):
It's already over because it's tie technically, but you're saying
the game's over because Egypt is like, oh my god,
I can't believe.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
We had him up to nothing and now it's too too.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
We had him up to nil and then within a
four minute span the games equalized, and at that point
all the momentum is on the Argentina side. It looks
like it's gonna go to extra time. But in stoppage time,
r Enzo Fernandez scores three to two Argentina.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Wow, amazing. So Egypt loses, but they had a good tournament.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
I mean, Egypt today is walking away from this tournament
saying this tournament for us was a smashing success. We
got to the round of sixteen. We were just happy
to be here. We have most Salah. Egypt is happy
today with their.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
Performing Most Salah, who could also be your bookie.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
But you think they're walking away even after being up
to nothing, they're still happy because they had an opportunity
here to upset one of the world powers in soccer.
I don't know if they're walking away feeling good. Not
when you're up to Niling a game, you know.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
So that is right. I don't know if they're happy,
but at least the Egyptian fans are proud of the boys. Okay,
where if you contrast the United States side, nobody is
really proud of the performance that the United States had
against Belgium. So I think that's the biggest difference. But
the bigger point this World Cup has been a smashing

(15:54):
success from everybody outside of the US perspective. Because this
is now the third game of the tournament. This is
the third game of the tournament.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
I'm listening.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Someone was taking my golf clubs away that I have
here on the driving range. I was a little bit concerned.
I'm distracted. Anyway, go ahead, third game of the tournament.
I can multitest the rare.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
Third game of the tournament where cap Verde Argentina the
second one that Argentina's been involved in. Yes, cap Verde
Argentina the game of the tournament. Then a couple of
days later you have Mexico England the second game of
the tournament. And now today you get Egypt Argentina. Wow,
the rare third game of the tournament.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Right, I've spent the entire time trying to think of
because you said walking away, they're happy, walk like an
Egyptian is what I've been thinking of.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
How to weave that joke. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
The cameraman mad again just pointed at me saying, that's
what you should be thinking about. And I was thinking about.
You know, I once did a list of athletes that
could oote Egypt. Miguel Cairo. I have about that, Nile Diggs,
I mean, Michael Sphinx.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
Miguel Cairo would have been the only one.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
I had, because that's all you know about Egypt.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
And Miguel Cairo was a Yankee great, right.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
He was not a Yankee great tailor. He was an
Okay Yankee. Is that fair? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (17:12):
But the second you play on the Yankees, you automatically
become a Yankee great. For me, there's like certain reservations
where the guys that never earned their pinstripes. It's guys
like Carl Pavano, right, the Kiakawa era of those Yankees,
where they never really did anything to earn their pinstripes.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
I need to get to this Yanna story, but I
do want to tell you that I saw I saw
Adam Thielen before and no one has ever done this
to me at Taha. But he suggested that a small
flyer on himself would be a good idea for me.
And wow, well, because he's retired from football and he's
been locked in and all.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
He's been doing is playing golf.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
Yes, and he was already good to be.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
He was already like a top five, top ten finisher
consistently here. He's one of the best golfers out here.
But I'm going to drop a flyer on him. I am,
I'm going to I am, and I'm not even I'm
not even certain it's a flyer. I feel like, you know,
it's probably gonna be like even money or something like that.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
You know, I got a theel and he could win this.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
He just wentz again, no, no game, thumbs up. Now
It's like he opened up the fridge. He tried the
milk right out of the container and it was sour.
That's that's the phace you make when you drink sour milk.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
I mean, be sure to catch live editions of Stu
Godson Company live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
So, anyway, what happened with Giannis?

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Because I am told that there are a lot of
Heat fans who are upset because they purchased a jersey
that Yannis saw is not going to be wearing, at
least with a number that Yannis isn't going to be
using anymore.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
I was not aware of this what happened?

Speaker 4 (18:40):
So the trade became official yesterday, right because of the
NBA league calendar. Everybody knew that Jannis was going to
be a member of the Heat, but the Heat couldn't
talk about Yannis being there until yesterday. So people since
the trade happened have been going on the Heat website
and ordering custom Yannish jerseys with the number thirty four.

(19:02):
You would assume he was thirty four in Milwaukee. Thirty
four is available for Miami. He's going to be thirty
four the day the trade becomes official. Outside or in
the Cassea Center, in the team store, they're selling Yanna's
thirty four jerseys, okay, because again you have no other
reason to think it's.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
The number he's worn his entire life. Yes, I mean,
why would you put any other number on there?

Speaker 4 (19:26):
I mean, so here's where the mistake comes in. They
open the Team's store. People are lined up, you know,
around the corner. People are lined up past the Freedom
Tower in downtown Miami trying to get their hands on
a Yannish jersey. Everybody's buying the jerseys. Their jerseys are
selling like hotcakes in the Team's store. Right, Jannis comes

(19:47):
out at the end of the day.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Yesterday, after everyone's purchased the jersey, after everyone's purchase with
the number he's worn his entire life.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
Yeah, Yannis comes out later in the day on a
streamer and even says, I'm wearing seven.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
And now it can't even be like I'm wearing three
or I'm wearing two, And you could just scratch out
the three on your jersey.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Right, Well, what you could do if you got they
honest thirty four jersey, you could just do to four.
You could just do the three and put an addition
sign in between the three and the four if you
want to get to that seven. It's not the most
efficient way for a jersey. And if I'm at the
team store and I'm assuming those jerseys are like over
one hundred dollars probably nowadays. Yes, you don't want to

(20:35):
buy a jersey where you're now adding like duct tape
in between the three and the four just to do
a plus sign.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
Put it on the pall.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
If you bought a thirty four Yannis jersey, would you
put a plus side in between the three and the four?

Speaker 3 (20:47):
Do you do equal seven?

Speaker 4 (20:50):
So what you were left with is Heat fans ready
to revolt that they bought this Jannis thirty four jersey.
Somebody from the Heat should have had the aware to say, hey, Yannis,
this we've had this trade done for about a week now. Yes,
somebody has to know what number you're going to be
to where we're not left feeling blindsided about this. So

(21:12):
the Heat came out later in the day and they
released a statement that all Yannish jerseys ordered and personalized
onto Takompo thirty four jerseys will be fulfilled with the
new number seven because they hadn't shipped those.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Out yet, right, could they keep the thirty fours though? No, no,
now I've got too far. Yes, yeah, you're not getting
double the jerseys. And then if fans purchased a Yanish
jersey in the team's store, they'll be able to exchange
it for the new number seven, but they have to
drive back down to the arena. Yeah, and you are
very covering gas then, and.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
You know it's not cheap to park at base side well,
and it's not easy to get to Bayside.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
I mean I used to drive there every day, trust me.
I know.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
Listen, ways might tell you it's forty five minutes, it
could be three hours and forty five minutes.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
I mean it could be on any given day, at
any given moment.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
You know, as somebody who is very familiar with the
South Florida traffic patterns. Yes, the Miami Heat have to
do something to sweeten the pot to get me to
come back to the team store to exchange that jersey.
Because just saying I could come and replace the jersey, right,
you're gonna have to jump through a couple more hoops.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
It might be easier just to put the plus on
it on there. I gotta tell you, Yana should deliver
these jerseys to these people's houses. Wow, and I'm concerned.
I gotta be honest, Yana signs with the Heat. It
makes me feel like they're not communicating at all. Because
a I don't care what Math thought of that.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
I like that. I mean, but.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
Yannas should hand deliver these jerseys. The people who bought
thirty four should hand deliver a number seven jersey. I
am concerned that, you know, Riley Spoe, Yannis, they're not
communicating whatsoever. I mean, it's a big concern. What do
you think they're doing in Egypt right now? By the way,
like on sports radio and Cairo on ninety five seven
the Sphinx do you think they're doing? Did Argentina win

(22:59):
the game or did Egypt lose the game?

Speaker 4 (23:02):
That's a staple and if I have to answer that question,
I know Messi is on the Argentina side, and when
Messi is on the pitch, he's always going to give
his team a chance to win.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Yeah, but when you can see.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
Three goals in a fourteen minute stretch of game time, yep,
you lost the game. The other team did not win
the game.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
Yes, yes, you're right, No, the other team lost, Argentina
didn't win. But they move on, Taylor. I'm distracted here.
The tournament has started. You know why the tournament has started?

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Right?

Speaker 1 (23:37):
You see, like look on the driving range, he doesn't
know who this person is oh I do. I tell
him every year this tournament does not start. We're at
Lake Tahoe American Century Championships. Here, we're having a blast,
it's going to be a great week. But I've told
Taylor the tournament doesn't start until one man gets here.
And that man is a man who has played in
every single one of these tournaments.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
His name is Jack Wagner.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
He was a soap opera star back in the eighties
and ninety nineties General Hospital. He parlayed it into a
skate a singing career, and he parlayed all that until
lifetime invitation to the American Century Championships. Lake Tahoe has begun. Taylor,
He's here. I mean, look at him.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
I feel like in terms of who the fans are
always excited to see.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Yeah, the women love Jack Wagner. They did.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
What would you say his biggest song is I'm not
familiar with his singing.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
No idea, no idea.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
But the one year Abby came out here, the only
person she wanted to meet with Jack Wagner.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
Wow, oh yeah, yeah, and she did. I mean he
spent fifteen to twenty minutes with her, starting to get
concerned I want to yo to him, what do you
want to yell?

Speaker 1 (24:45):
I don't know how the tournament has officially begun. Why
don't you go up to a Naska? Did Egypt Blues
or Argentina win?

Speaker 4 (24:52):
So this is kind of rubbing off from Radio Row, yes,
where I don't really have a plan when I see
these celebrities, I just want to almost just cat call.
Like when I saw Joe Flackall walking by at Radio Row,
I yelled at him, nobody looks better than you right now, Joe, right,
He like started blushing, That's that's how taken back he was.

(25:12):
And then the other person I yelled at at Radio
Row was Fred Smoot, where I just yelled smooth, yeah,
my boy, and then Smoot, when he heard somebody yell's name,
said I must know who this person is talking. So
what happened when Smoot jumped up on the stage and
started making conversation with me? And then Smoot realized very

(25:32):
quickly and I realized very quickly we didn't have much
after that.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
Smoot yeah he went mute, yeahm went mute. Smoot realized
pretty early on, like, hey, I don't know this guy.
I don't like we have no history. I don't know
who he is. Why am I spending that any sort
of time with him?

Speaker 3 (25:50):
Right?

Speaker 4 (25:51):
Yes, that is exactly what happened.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
If you, if you screamed to Jack Wagner, you look great.
You're the best looking guy in the driving range. Two things,
he's the only guy in the driving range right now. Secondly,
if everyone was on the driving range, he would respond,
I know.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
I can't tell. Is he doing an interview?

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (26:09):
Okay, then I don't want to scream mid interview. Yeah,
just to be courteous.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Yeah, he had a great name, soap opera name was
Frisco Jones. Wow, it's a great imagine if your quarterback
was Frisco Jones.

Speaker 4 (26:20):
What was his soap opera?

Speaker 3 (26:22):
General Hospital? Days of our Lives? So both.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
No, I'm just staring at him, because that's what you
do out here in Tyhoe. You're close to the driving
range and you just stare at celebrities. You don't say
anything to him, You just talk about him on their backs.

Speaker 4 (26:35):
Are we still making soap propers?

Speaker 3 (26:37):
Are we still doing radio?

Speaker 1 (26:40):
We are at the American Century Championships. Our buddy Trey
Wingo is here. I am insanely jealous because Trey Wingo
got the invite to play in this tournament?

Speaker 3 (26:48):
Jesus am I jalous?

Speaker 1 (26:49):
It's like Anderson Cooper when he realized that George Stepanopolos
was invited to the Kelsey wedding. Yeah, well you got
an invite and I did it.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
Well, it's probably I probably got the invite because Travis
is on his honeymoon.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
I'm being honest about it.

Speaker 5 (27:01):
I think what was John Daily in the ninety one PGA,
the ninth alternate?

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Yes, I may have been the thirty second ulternate, but
I do not care. I am here and I'm playing.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
Do you wonder the amount of names and what the
names are that they called before they got the Trey Winger?

Speaker 4 (27:15):
Doesn't matter now, doesn't.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
You're here? Maybe if I wasn't here it would really matter.
But I'm here, so that's all that matters. I know
how good of a golfer you are. No, I've seen
I played with you. I mean, we had the whole
thing down in North Carolina Pinehurst, and you're fantastic.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Therefore, I am putting no pressure putting a flyer on
Trey Wingo to win this thing.

Speaker 5 (27:35):
To find a fly A little sprinkle a little sprinkle,
you know, do me a favor.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Yeah, whatever that sprinkle is, tak it out of your
wallet and let them out. That's what McDonough said. You
will enjoy it better that way. It'll at least it'll give.

Speaker 5 (27:47):
You the pleasure of slow burn come bus instead of
the slow implosion over three days.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
I have one goal.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
I played in a tournament two weekends ago with a
bunch of these guys already finished, Joe Pelski, Taylor.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
Towelm and all the good guys.

Speaker 5 (28:00):
Yes, I had one goal, do not finish DFL and
I finished twenty ninth out of thirty six. I'd beat
five professional athletes and two broadcasters.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
It was very happy goal accomplished. I was very happy.

Speaker 5 (28:14):
I can if I can redo that here, I'll be
very duplicated.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
I'll be very very happy.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Twelve men's annoying, right, because he's really good, and he's
the guy who says I played to you, hey, I
played twice in the last six months.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Marty.

Speaker 5 (28:25):
Marty is the worst though, among those lines like he
played around with Jack about a year ago, and Jack said,
why weren't you a professional correct golfers? I was busy
being a professional tennis player, and Jack said, you chose
the wrong profession.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
And that's the people about Marty didn't understand.

Speaker 5 (28:41):
Marty played tennis right handed, but he's a natural left
hand replays.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
Golf left handed. Yes, he's so fricking annoying. Yes, so good.
He's the best non professional golfer I've ever played. That's
what Jack said.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Jack said, the best non PGA player.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
I've ever played golf. MA absolutely remarkable.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
So I was sitting down and I was privy to
a conversation. You would tell it having about the World Cup. Yes,
it's all I well asked the question that Taylor asked
you right before we got started here. Did Argentina win
that game or did Egypt lose the game?

Speaker 3 (29:09):
I think Egypt lost it. I mean, look, you give
up three goals. They had a two nil lead in
the seventy eighth minute. Somehow it didn't even get to
extra time.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
Okay, that's That's like the twenty twelve Open Championship at
Royal Liveman sant Anne Adam Scott was four up with
four to play.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
And it didn't even go to a playoff. That's completely collapse,
and kudos to Argentina.

Speaker 5 (29:33):
I mean, they did what they had to do, but
you're up two nil and you're almost in the eightieth minute.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Finish it, finish it.

Speaker 5 (29:40):
And I know that that goal probably shouldn't have been
taken away, but you still got the two nil lead
after that.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
Yeah, Egypt just choked on a.

Speaker 4 (29:47):
Chicken boon between that goal being overturned by Vaer and
in the France Morocco game, the entire referee and crew
is from Argentina. Trey, what do you think about people
that are saying FIFA stands for fix it for Argentina, for.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
People that are outraged people by these two here.

Speaker 5 (30:09):
But when I find it hilarious that people like, oh,
I'm so outraged by FIFA, how have you not been
outraged for decades?

Speaker 3 (30:15):
Because it impacts us? I mean, how have you not
been out This is who they are.

Speaker 5 (30:19):
Any year in sports, there's only three entities on the
corruption podium. Yes, the NCAA, the IOC and FIFA.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
It's gold, silver and bronze. It just depends on what
year you wanted to Holy.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Trinity of corruption, Trinity of absolute Paola scandal.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
I mean, there's a.

Speaker 5 (30:39):
Great Netflix series four parter about FIFA and how the
how Cutter got the World Cup bid in twenty twenty two.
They were just throwing cash. I mean, it's a ridiculous organization.
So for people I can't believe FIFA did this, then
you haven't been watching. If you were, If you're watching
the World Cup and you don't expect this to happen,
then that's on you.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
That's you.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
Yes, it was bizarre that when they reversed the flaw,
Balgan red card set Bladder coming out being like this
is corrupt, and it's like, dude, step Blatter, you made
a career off being corrupted.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
Do we want to go back and talk about the
money that you gave to the federations in Africa and CONCACAP, Hey,
do whatever you.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Want for your football federation.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
Most of it stayed in the pockets of the people
that got the money.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
So I don't want to hear it from him.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
By the way, sept bladder, Yes, that just sounds like
a disastrous urinary disease, and I just I'm not having
it from him.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
I'm not having it.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
From Taylor put that on the pole. The sept bladder
sound like a terrill how'd you phrase it? A disastrous
urinary disease, a disastrous ladder six times a night. Man,
it's awful. You walk out of the doctor's office shaking
your head. You're like, oh man, your wife says, well,
what the doctor said, I got set? Glad, I got
set ladder.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
On the topic of the US men's national team, Yeah,
there's been no confirmation if poach Chino will come back yet. Yeah,
you guys will never guess who Danny Canal suggested to
be the next US men's national.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
Well, if it's on brand, let me guess Deion Sanders. Wait,
hold on, let's let's let's stay it for a second.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
Was it Nope?

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Okay, close though, So Danny Canell has suggested a new
coach for the US men's soccer team.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
Is it a football not not football, but a foot.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
Football coach and a football court Shaban Noe who recently
has done a great job changing the culture at a
school that Indiana. Kirk that's magic Kirkcinnetti on the US
men's national team sideline in my.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
Work might as well put in ten last week.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
And Danny is the great artist of this, like, oh,
we don't send our best athletes there?

Speaker 3 (32:40):
What imagine if Lamar Jackson and Miles Garrett.

Speaker 5 (32:43):
No, Lamar Jackson's skill set and Miles garrett skill set
don't necessarily.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Translate to soccer. That's not how this works.

Speaker 5 (32:50):
That's like saying, well, we're terrible at baseball, we'll put
in Michael Phelps.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
He wins all the gold medals in swimming. That's not
how this works. Okay, that's not how any of this works.
That's a stupidest argument of all time.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
Twenty years ago, when Lebron James came into the league,
you were still at ESPN. You would do it Sports Center,
you would do it some radio. If I told you
twenty years later, he'd still be holding NBA fans hostage,
and the NBA we'd still be interested in where Lebron
is going to end up.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
You would have told me what this is crazy? It is,
But I want to be clear, I'm not interested. You've
lost that, Jane.

Speaker 5 (33:23):
My point is, you know how when someone says I've
decided to retire, it really means you've been retired, like
you've been out of the league for a couple of years,
whether it's NBNFL, I'm gonn announce my retirement. Bro, you
were retired, yes, Okay, so when he told the Lakers,
say you should move on without me, they had already
moved on. Okay, he's just changing the phrasing. It's already

(33:44):
moved on. Look, God bless him. He's an unbelievable player.
He'll never be Jordan. I'm sorry, it's not even close.
It's not a debate. I do the power of six
to the fourth when it comes to this debate. Michael
Jordan's six NBA finals, six championships, six finals, MVPs and
never got past the game six.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
It's just that simple. Yes, and he's.

Speaker 5 (34:05):
A better defensive player. Yes, Lebron has more points. He's
played longer. How much easier to score points now than
it was in the Jordan eras of the eighties and nineties.
Numbers out of context are just numbers. You have to
put things in contextual situations that make sense. Michael's the
greatest of all. Lebron is one of the greats of
all time. But no, it's Michael, and then it's everybody.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
Well, when you say you don't care, when you were
at ESPN, you were forced to care.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
That is correct. Now you get to choose what you
care about. That is correct. This is why this is
much better and this is not one of them. Correct,
I do not. Whatever happens, great, go for it, live
your life. Yes, call me when you know you want
me to call you. Yes, I would enjoy that.

Speaker 5 (34:46):
In fact, there was one summer It was about this
time when Lebron announced he was going back to Cleveland
and they were trying to get all here's how funny
things work.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
At ESPN at times. You can appreciate this, Okay.

Speaker 5 (34:58):
I think it was somebody from the Sports illustrator. Somebody
had the story and it was Lebron's own words. Yes,
I'm going to this, and they're getting their NBA guys,
can you confirm this? I'm like, he's already confirmed it, Like,
why do you need one of our NBA insiders to
confirm what Lebron James has already said?

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Yes, so they could say in ESPN NBA inside exactly.

Speaker 5 (35:19):
And at that point they canceled the NFL Live and
I said, thanks Lebron or Herman.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
I went and played thirty six. I love it. I
love it.

Speaker 5 (35:25):
I absolutely loved it. I cannot care about everything all
the time anymore. And kudos to those people that can
also seek immediate help It's.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
Like Christopher mad Doug Russo, if I don't watch a game,
he says, you're a bad sports fit.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Okay, well you would enjoy your life.

Speaker 5 (35:41):
No.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
He does the same thing to Taylor twelve men and others,
and they're like, no, we're sports fans.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
We're just not crazy like you are.

Speaker 5 (35:47):
Keanu Reeves has a great line, I'm at the point
in my life if you want to say two plus
two equals five, have out of it. I do not care
if that. If that gets you going, good for you.

Speaker 3 (35:56):
Yes, I'll let you. I'll let you have that stage.
Did you enjoy US soccer for a moment for a minute? Listen?

Speaker 5 (36:01):
The first game was awesome. They really look and we
thought Powaguay might have been bad. That Paraguay actually played
pretty well, so I thought that was a good indication.
They were a little nervy in the second half against Australia,
but they had that gigantic defenseman who looked like you
know Mathra back then. Yes, but they just they weren't ready.
As much as it was about anything else. They proved
they weren't ready for the moment. You could tell. You

(36:23):
can tell when guys aren't ready for that event, and
they weren't.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
Why weren't they That's a great question.

Speaker 5 (36:29):
I don't think the whole flow balloon thing helped them
in any way, shape or form. Sure, they might have
played better if they didn't have him, right, I don't know,
put a target on him.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
It exactly is, and.

Speaker 5 (36:37):
It's certainly Belgium was certainly motivated. You say what their overturned.
This was their Instagram a postom they did the dance,
all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
Yes, but our players weren't ready. It's just that simple.
And how do they get ready? I don't. I don't
know the answer to that.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
I don't think anyone knows the answer to that. You know,
you wanted to get in some NFL here. I had
no idea why we're in the middle of July. We're
in like Tahoe. But I do feel like, in your defense,
we have gotten a little bit. You know, we've gotten
too far away from football. Because college football is right
around the corner. The NFL is a couple of months away.
We are not that far out from the football season starting.

(37:11):
So what is it that you want to do here?

Speaker 4 (37:13):
We are going to play a little game of Stu
Gotts or stunts. Oh wow, I've prepared some takes. I'm
going to give you the takes and you have to
say whether it's Stu Gotts.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
Or I feel like we packaged this game differently in years.
They're very different. They're very different. But what was the
game that you really like? What was the original name
of this game?

Speaker 4 (37:30):
Buy or sell? Bundy got Let's be very clear. Buy
Er sell is different than dil in or dill out,
and it's very different from Fair or Fowler. Vince Carter,
here's your boy, Vince.

Speaker 3 (37:43):
You want to say anything, Vince, Vince, Let's go heels? Yeah,
I mean, let's go heels. That's it. He set the table.
Now I have to go eat. What do I mean
by that? Taylor? All he does is scream things at
celebrities who walk by. Then he has me finishing. Who's coming?

Speaker 4 (37:57):
The crowd is going crazy for you? Check back here.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
Really he's small for a full back.

Speaker 4 (38:03):
But powerful, hell, very power. He packs a punch.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
He really does.

Speaker 4 (38:06):
Last year, you call them Kyle juzzenequis.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
It's a tungue bwitz it is.

Speaker 4 (38:12):
Here's Kyle Hamilton.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
Yeah, he's a badass. This guy. He looks like he could.
I mean, he doesn't look like a guy.

Speaker 1 (38:20):
He looks more like a guy you can win the Masters,
not a guy who is gonna give you a sledgehammer
when you come over the middle of the NFL field.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
Right, I mean Jesus, all right, So we're gonna play.

Speaker 1 (38:29):
Uh, We're gonna play Stu Gotts. We're stunts here, and
when we're done, I have to go over to Vince
Carter to eat at the dinner table, because Taylor has
set the table for us.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
First one. The Patriots are more likely to miss the
playoffs than to make it back to the super Bowl.
Stu Gotts, or.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
I'm gonna say Stu Gotts, They're more likely to miss
the postseason all.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
Together than make it back to the super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Without getting into too much detail on this, I know
a lot of will want me to talk about it,
but I just think the whole Vrabel thing it throws
things off.

Speaker 3 (39:04):
It does. I don't care what anyone tells me.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
I think people are looking at him cross out in
the locker room. If God forbid a player did that,
he might cut them. And so it's just going to
be interesting to see how the Patriots respond to all
of this.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
Butt.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
When you consider the other teams in that division, the Jets,
the Dolphins, it's hard not seeing them make it to
the playoffs. You know what I'm saying, Well, the Bills
are there too, So could there be one team from
that division that makes it to the playoffs because they
win the AFC East. Yeah, I could see that happening
with Buffalo. Is it unlikely the Patriots will miss the playoffs? Yes,

(39:37):
but you're saying once they get there, get all the
way to the super Bowl, and I'm saying no, So
I'm going to say studots.

Speaker 4 (39:43):
Yeah, so they add Aj Brown, so on paper, that
should be an upgrade over Stefan Diggs.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (39:49):
But when you're a team like the Patriots, who were
pretty fortunate last year in terms of schedule, yeah, it
felt like a paper tiger schedule. And then maybe that
fact kind of got exposed when you when you play
the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. Now they're getting the
first play schedule, so it's going to be a lot
tougher for them. I do think they make the playoffs,

(40:09):
but I do think you're right that it's more likely
that they missed the playoffs than make it back to
the Super Bowl because your one quarterback injury away, yes,
from your season being tanked, but.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
You're also at that quarterback. So it really depends on
the quarterback. If he develops the way a lot of
people think he's going to develop.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
Mean, if he takes a.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
Next step and he gets even better than he was
last year, that could overcome a lot Like a lot
of the stuff I was talking about locker room Vrabel,
all that goes by the wayside when your quarterback turns
out to be great. So we'll see if Drake May
is going to be great. I'll tell you this. They're
at Seattle, they're home with Pittsburgh, They're at Jacksonville, They're
at Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
First four games. That's a gauntlet right there. At Seattle,
Pittsburgh at home, at Jacksonville, at Buffalo.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
Whoof, But maybe here's a plus for the Patriots. Yeah,
Drake May was supposed to be here this week. Yeah,
Drake May withdrew from the field and Drew Brees. Maybe
Drake May Withdrew from the field because he wants to
lock in for the season.

Speaker 3 (41:05):
Maybe, but maybe not.

Speaker 1 (41:07):
Let's go through the schedule real quick, Okay, I just
want to read this to you, this is crazy. At
Seattle versus Pittsburgh, at Jacksonville, at Buffalo home Raiders, home Jets,
at Chicago at Dolphins. Okay, Green Bay, Detroit, Chargers, Buffalo, Minnesota,
Kansas City, they get the Jets again, then Denver.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
The Patriots might miss the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (41:32):
Seriously, that's a tough schedule, man, Geez missed the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (41:36):
Drake May is gonna have to earn that contract.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
Drake May is gonna have to turn into Tom Brady.
We'll see if he could do it next.

Speaker 4 (41:42):
Take here, this is the year that Justin Herbert finally
wins a playoff game.

Speaker 1 (41:48):
Stu gottsts I'm tired of Justin Herbert. I'm tired of
every year having the same conversation about how great Justin
Herbert is. And then the season starts and he's in
the MVP conversation for the first half of the season,
and then the second half they fade a little bit,
and then he gets to the playoffs and he chokes.
I don't want to hear about him anymore. Seriously, win
a playoff game, do me?

Speaker 3 (42:07):
If it? Just win one playoff game? I mean, you
look the part.

Speaker 1 (42:11):
No one, no one in the history of the NFL,
other than Derek Carr has looked the part more than
Justin Herbert. Do everyone a favor, allow us to stop
having this conversation every single year before the year starts,
and win a playoff game.

Speaker 3 (42:25):
But it's not gonna happen this year. Now.

Speaker 4 (42:26):
I'm a Justin Herbert defender. And then I think the
fact that they got Mike McDaniel this year to be
his OC, maybe that unlocks something in Justin Herbert's game.

Speaker 1 (42:35):
Always unlocking something with Justin Herbert, and a little unlock
a playoff win.

Speaker 4 (42:40):
I'm gonna take a little sprinkle on Justin Herbert.

Speaker 3 (42:42):
MVP.

Speaker 4 (42:44):
You do this thing where you bashed Justin Herbert.

Speaker 3 (42:46):
You right until he wins won.

Speaker 4 (42:47):
Yeah, and then for some reason, I feel like the
roles get flipped with your with your stances on Joe
Burrow because you, well.

Speaker 3 (42:54):
He's gone to a super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (42:55):
You give Joe Burrow every excuse under the sun, right wing.

Speaker 1 (42:58):
And go yeahright, just pointed at me because I said
Joe Burrow went to a super Bowl and he knows
that's all.

Speaker 4 (43:02):
Takes right, thumbs up or thumbs down. This is the
year that Justin Herbert finally wins a playoff game. You
can't do that. Bumb up, thumb up.

Speaker 1 (43:13):
That's terrible, terrible take. You lost your caddy, he said,
he doesn't do takes.

Speaker 4 (43:20):
He just talks.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
That's why I gave a side thumb. I mean, jesus,
this guy, he's lost his touch. This WINGO next take
here for Stu Gots or.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
The Titans can make some noise this season in year
two of Cam wore bringing in Brian Dable as O.

Speaker 3 (43:35):
See, well, well, it has nothing to do with Dable.
I mean this. I mean this.

Speaker 4 (43:38):
Jackson Dart looked pretty good with Dable.

Speaker 3 (43:40):
This coach though.

Speaker 1 (43:42):
Listen, win or lose, they have the best looking coach
in America, So it doesn't really matter. All right, let
me look at the schedule. I gotta look things over here.
I'm taking this way too seriously.

Speaker 4 (43:50):
In July, this feels like it's Stu Gots just because
makes some noise, Like the Titans can make some noise.
We're not saying that they're going to be a Super
Bowl contender, but.

Speaker 3 (43:58):
Makes some noise.

Speaker 1 (43:59):
We'll define, let's actually define make some noise is make
some noise making the playoffs?

Speaker 3 (44:03):
Is that what it is?

Speaker 4 (44:04):
I would say, make some noise. Is you're entering about
week fourteen or week fifteen, you have a shot and
you're at least in the hunt.

Speaker 3 (44:11):
You're in this.

Speaker 1 (44:12):
She'll making noises different for every team based on expectations
headed into the season. So you're telling me if Tennessee
is at like eight wins, they had made some noise
nine wins, right, They're playing in a division with Jacksonville,
good team, Houston's good team, great defense, Colts, decent team.
That's a tough division. Just pulling up the schedule real quick,
make some noise. The Jets, Philly, the Giants, Baltimore.

Speaker 3 (44:35):
Actually looking at the schedule.

Speaker 1 (44:36):
If you're telling me making some noises eight wins, nine
wins and maybe a chance of going to the playoffs,
I'll tell you fine, they'll make some noise to guys.

Speaker 4 (44:43):
Wow, look at Jerome Bettis Young.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
What you yelled about us yesterday? Go Irish Iris, that
was you set in the plate.

Speaker 4 (44:50):
I went to North Carolina.

Speaker 1 (44:51):
He sets it. This is what Taylor does. He sets
the table. He yells something quick when they walk by,
and then I have to go finish it off. Go ahead,
next one.

Speaker 4 (44:58):
You guts are Stuna Aaron Glenn finishes the season as
the Jets head coach. It feels like he's entering this
season on the dead man walking side.

Speaker 1 (45:13):
Geno Smith's the quarterback, I think yes, if not, Clay
is a kid club Nick.

Speaker 4 (45:20):
Kate club Nick. And Brady Cook's always hanging around.

Speaker 1 (45:23):
Yeah, well he is put it on the pall a
is Brady Cook always hanging around? And if your season
comes down to Caid club Nick saving it, are you
in big trouble?

Speaker 3 (45:31):
Let me think about this all right.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
So they're at Tennessee. Oh wow, I mean wonder why
they did that? One of those two teams will often
want to us start huh about that?

Speaker 3 (45:44):
Green Bay, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland. He'll be fired by week seven.
Aaron will be gone by week seven.

Speaker 4 (45:53):
To gods, I guess the next one here, The winner
of the NFC will come out of the the NFC
West stew Gotts. So it's basically rams Seahawks forty nine
ers burst the field because, let's be honest, nobody cares
about the Arizona Cardinals.

Speaker 3 (46:11):
No, it's a good question. Actually, who are some other teams?

Speaker 4 (46:16):
The Eagles? Maybe a back season for the Commander's Lions, maybe.

Speaker 1 (46:20):
A bounce back hackers, Right, it's not going to be
the NFC South Eagles Cowboys people like I like the Giants.

Speaker 4 (46:28):
I love the Cowboys this year.

Speaker 1 (46:30):
Yeah, I know a lot of people do, which scares me.

Speaker 3 (46:32):
By the way.

Speaker 4 (46:33):
Yeah, it's never a good thing when the Cowboys come
into the season with expectator.

Speaker 1 (46:37):
I don't remember the guest earlier this week who said
he loved the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (46:40):
Do you was it Trey? It was Trey actually he
wanted to give his opinion that.

Speaker 4 (46:44):
Yeah, I mean that was to take for sure.

Speaker 3 (46:47):
Jesus.

Speaker 1 (46:48):
So it's Seattle, San Francisco with the Rams. I'll say,
Stuc Gotts, it is coming out.

Speaker 3 (46:56):
Of the NFC West. I think the Rams are going
to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (46:59):
I did final one here, Yeah, Stu Gotts. Or the
Chiefs dynasty is over?

Speaker 3 (47:06):
Well, I thought it was over three years ago saying
this forever.

Speaker 4 (47:11):
Man Chiefs dynasty.

Speaker 3 (47:15):
Wow, you know I have I've counted out Andy Reid before.

Speaker 1 (47:22):
I've criticized Andy Reid before, and uh.

Speaker 3 (47:25):
Man, was I wrong? And I don't want to do
it to him.

Speaker 1 (47:31):
Again because he's maybe look bad every time I've done.

Speaker 3 (47:35):
It to him. My homes is just too good.

Speaker 1 (47:37):
He's gonna be healthy.

Speaker 4 (47:42):
Man.

Speaker 1 (47:42):
I'm tempted to say, Stu Gotts, I'm gonna say, Stus,
it's not over.

Speaker 3 (47:46):
The dynasty is not over.

Speaker 1 (47:47):
I'm not saying they're gonna win a ton of Super Bowls,
but they got one left.

Speaker 4 (47:50):
And you don't want to back Spags into a corner.

Speaker 1 (47:52):
And I love Spags and I don't. He just sent
me a text this morning. He's golfing in Scotland. Actually
he should be focused on football. Stu Gotts. We are
wrapping up what has been a great week here at
the American Century Championship Lake Tahoe.

Speaker 3 (48:04):
We've been out here.

Speaker 1 (48:05):
I've been out here for the last I don't know,
eight or nine years, and I look forward to continuing
to come out here because, as Taylor pointed out earlier,
this is the Brady Quinn of sporting events. And who
wouldn't want to attend the Brady Quinn exactly sporting events.
Our thanks today to Gary Sheffield, Matthew Kachuck, aj Hawk,

(48:26):
Robert Sala.

Speaker 3 (48:27):
They were all fantastic.

Speaker 1 (48:28):
Joe Thaisman is on God Bless Football if you'd like
to listen to that. Also want to thank Matt and
Neil before we get out of here, who did a
great job. Our camera audio guys, digital guys who did
a fantastic job the entire week. We appreciate their hard
work and owur thanks to NBC and all the folks
here at the American Century Championship golf tournament, especially Nick Casanova,

(48:49):
who has just been an angel on my shoulder for
the last decade or so. Anything we need, Nick Casanova
produces it inside of five minutes, and I'm pretty certain
he has more than important things to be worried about
then me and Taylor on the driving range trying.

Speaker 3 (49:04):
To get a show done. Bud, he worries about it,
and we love him.

Speaker 1 (49:07):
So thank you, Nick, and thank you to all the
folks here at NBC and of course at Edwood and
American Century Championships.

Speaker 3 (49:14):
Taylor, how do you feel about the week?

Speaker 4 (49:17):
I love it. The best person that I heard describe
it besides me calling it the Brady Quinn of sporting events.

Speaker 3 (49:23):
All right, that was the best.

Speaker 4 (49:24):
Brian Bumgardner from the Office. Kevin from the Office said,
when he dies, he wants his body brought here and
dumped in the middle of the lake. It's dark, but
There's something oddly beautiful about that in a twisted way.

Speaker 1 (49:37):
These guys love it, man, they love it. They swear
by it. The guys who can't make it are worry
they won't be invited back. And I'm here to tell
Josh Allen You're going to be invited back, dude. Stop
worrying about it. Joe Buck, you too mean. These guys
lose their minds over this. But you're happy with the
week because I would maintain I've been out here for many,

(49:58):
many years.

Speaker 3 (49:58):
You've only been out here. This is your second year
out here with me.

Speaker 1 (50:02):
This is a top three year for me in terms
of access, in terms of guests.

Speaker 3 (50:06):
You killed it, buddy, so I'm proud of you.

Speaker 4 (50:07):
We won the week. Sala Dylan Dryer, Yep, hard to
beat this.

Speaker 3 (50:12):
Week Seala and Dylan Dryer is where you went.

Speaker 4 (50:15):
Yeah, yeah, I'm still I'm still realing off Matthew Kuchuck
saying I asked him the worst question ever.

Speaker 3 (50:20):
Well, let's let's okay.

Speaker 1 (50:23):
Listen, Matthew Kachuck was sitting next to us and he
was flu mixed.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
He had I mean, he didn't understand what it was.

Speaker 1 (50:31):
Taylor was trying to ask Taylor was essentially accusing him
of collusion that because he has a podcast that enabled
him to get his brother down to the Florida Panthers.
And I would say, no, it's not the podcast. It's
just a simple phone call, like, bro, let's get you
down here if we can. And the Panthers made it
happen because Bill Zito, who takes credit for their podcast,

(50:53):
and made that deal and got him.

Speaker 4 (50:55):
I feel like you two were gaining up on me
when we were asking that question. And then once the
the camera stopped rolling, Matthew Chuck put his arm on me.
He was like, man, that was a funny question. I
was like, Matthew, I could have used you there to
say it was a funny question.

Speaker 3 (51:08):
Well no, but the person you could have used was me,
And I just left you alone.

Speaker 4 (51:12):
No, not only did you leave me alone? Yeah, buried me.

Speaker 1 (51:15):
Well, I did because you deserved it. It's the rare
time I'll do that to you. I don't like doing
that to you. You know that I want you to
not feel alone. Lord knows I have felt alone on
the radio many, many times over the last two decades,
with no one there to bully me or help support me,
and usually you have to give me credit.

Speaker 3 (51:31):
I do that for you. This time you did not
deserve it.

Speaker 4 (51:35):
You saw Matthew's confused look and you were like, I'm
gonna jump on this right now.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
Well, no, he had every reason to be confused. It
was a weird question, and like you kind of fumbled
around a little bit. You weren't terribly confident in how
you were asking it. It's okay, tail or it happens.
It's a live radio. I mean, we'll shake it off
or swift. Yeah, but you did shake it off. It
really sat with you.

Speaker 4 (51:58):
It's gonna say with me until next year.

Speaker 1 (52:01):
Listen, you remember the episode we did witstegatzid Hawk about
Chuck Norris the interview and I had the first question
because Dan decided that was the perfect time to throw
it to me for the first time in show history,
the first time he would throw it to me to
ask the first question in an interview. And I watched
it and it was bad, and Dan crushed me. It
took me a year to get the stench off. Okay,

(52:24):
so three hundred and sixty four days to go, my friend.

Speaker 4 (52:28):
And Matthew was like. I saw Matthew later and he
was like, did you ask Brady that question too? And
I was like, no, we didn't get the chance to
talk to Brady. And I would never ask that question
ever again in my life. I've eliminated that question from
my vocabulary.

Speaker 3 (52:40):
I would have played a brack for Brady.

Speaker 1 (52:42):
I was too ashamed to ask another Kachuck to come
on afterwards.

Speaker 3 (52:47):
It's okay, buddy, you're still upset about it, and I'm.

Speaker 1 (52:51):
Still leaving you alone on an island, even though I'm
telling you it was okay.

Speaker 3 (52:55):
It was okay. Who's your favorite guest this week?

Speaker 4 (52:58):
Dealing dryer?

Speaker 3 (52:59):
Really? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (53:01):
Scene Mallar apologized to me by the way, he said
he was going to come on yesterday. He's a man
of his word. I told him, you're not a man
of your word. You didn't come back, and he said,
I am a man of my word. I had family responsibilities,
and I said, now, don't tell me you're going to
come back next time.

Speaker 3 (53:14):
Fair.

Speaker 4 (53:15):
I wasn't dying to have Kevin Malaran. I was we
could be honest because I grew up a Yankee fan.
He's a Red Sox fan, part of that idiot Red
Sox team. Yes, he basically ruined my childhood in two
thousand and four, two thousand and three, whatever.

Speaker 3 (53:27):
It was right in two thousand and four.

Speaker 1 (53:29):
Can you do me a favor, though, Stop running things
through your prism until you're.

Speaker 3 (53:34):
The only way I knew it.

Speaker 1 (53:35):
I know, but name when it's the Taylor Vippalis show, okay,
and I'm producing it because I've grown too old to talk, Okay,
then you could dictate who the guests are.

Speaker 3 (53:46):
But if I want Kevin Malara on, I don't care
that he ruined your childhood.

Speaker 4 (53:52):
Like, I'm just not going to jump through hoops to
try to get Kevin mar If I I'll ask Kevin
Maher to join the show. If Kevin Maher doesn't show up, okay,
then I'm not going to follow back up with them a.

Speaker 3 (54:00):
All right, But Vince Carter is someone who went to
the same school.

Speaker 4 (54:03):
I don't want to bother Vince Carter, but I want
you to bother Vince Carter my prison, vinceanity your But
what is.

Speaker 3 (54:12):
My prism coming into play?

Speaker 1 (54:14):
It's his show, everyone, dumbler, I have lost control of
the proceedings here with Taylor. What do you have in
terms of gambling on this tournament this week? What are
you thinking about what are we gonna do here, because
like I listen, I've been watching every single guy in
the range, and yeah, you know, I know Derek Carr
looks at times like he can win this thing, and

(54:35):
so does Ray Allen, and so does Adam Thielen. But
there's really only one guy. Two guys Joe Pavloski who
won whatever Tomato Tomato, the guy who won it last year,
and Marty Fish. And I find it hard to believe
if Marty Fish is on his game that anyone's going
to beat Marty Fish. That's where I'm putting my money

(54:57):
this week.

Speaker 4 (54:57):
So Marty Fish and Pavelski are co f favorites three
to one. Steph Curry and John Smoltz are next at
seven to two. In terms of volume, more bets have
been placed this week on Steph Curry to win the
tournament than any other golfer, but the biggest liability according
to sports books, this weekend at the American Century Championship,

(55:19):
and he guesses on who it is. Who do people
want to put a flyer on to see if he
could win it?

Speaker 6 (55:26):
It can't be Parkley, Steve GOTTSI, Parkley come on the
longest odds of anybody in the field. Yes, here, you
know what, seventy five hundred to one, So a one
hundred dollars bet would win you seven hundred and fifty
thousand dollars if the round amount of rebound can win
this damn thing.

Speaker 3 (55:45):
But he's not. I want to start a sports book.

Speaker 1 (55:48):
Everyone send those bets to me, and what I'll send
you back is a lighter.

Speaker 4 (55:52):
A lot would have to go right for Charles Barkley
to win this.

Speaker 1 (55:58):
No one else can show up to play if you
want Charles Barkley to win this.

Speaker 3 (56:02):
Yeah, that's what has to go right.

Speaker 1 (56:03):
A lot of everyone else in the field decided not
to wake up and play in the play in the
tournament because he just wanted to would join Lake Tahoe.

Speaker 4 (56:10):
But also it's a bit disrespectful to sir Charles that
he has the longest odds of anybody in this field. Yeah,
he finished sixty ninth last year. Better than Ray Romono,
who's here. It's better than my good friend Colin Jos
who's here this year. It's better than Trevor Lawrence. There's
a ton of names that Charles Barkley beat last year.
And then you're telling me, Charles Barkley has the worst

(56:31):
odds of anybody. Put some respect on sir Charles's name.
Me give me some head to head odds. Let me
let me take rich eyes in versus Charles Barkley. Anybody,
anybody want to give me that action back here, I'll
take you. I'm telling you, I'm telling you, Charles is
coming there.

Speaker 1 (56:44):
I want to know the odds on Colin Joe, just
remembering you next year. You're a good friends plus forty
five million. No, no sports Booking America would take those
odds right now.

Speaker 3 (56:57):
So what is Barkley again?

Speaker 4 (56:59):
He is seventy five hundred to.

Speaker 3 (57:02):
One, So one hundred wins me seven thousand. Screw it,
I'm doing it.

Speaker 1 (57:09):
I mean, just right, just the event everyone else passes
out on the golf course, and.

Speaker 4 (57:15):
As we're wrapping up here this week. Yes, I'm gonna
give my official prediction because who was your pick, Pavelski
or Marty fit No, it's Marty Fisher. Okay, really went
out on a limb there, I'm making a favor. What
do you want me to tell you?

Speaker 3 (57:26):
He's the best golfer here, dude, by a law, by
a wide margin.

Speaker 4 (57:30):
Go ahead, my official Pick. He's plus twelve hundred to
win this thing. Taylor twelveman, Oh wow, he's plus twelve hundred.

Speaker 3 (57:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (57:40):
I'm looking for value. I'm looking for somebody who could
win US men's national team let us down this week?
Who could take that mantle Tailor? Twelveman.

Speaker 1 (57:51):
I like Twelman, I do I like to Pick. I
saw him get out of the lake shirtless with his dad.
His dad was also shirtless. This is what Lake week is,
sauso is all about.
