number two. Bryce Harper implied that he was the victim
of this fandual cameo situation. Do you have empathy for
with a Philadelphia Philly Starr bossh?
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Of course he gambler, somebody addicted to gambling.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
What stands out about Mike Trout for the second time
in a couple months here seemingly passing on a contender
at the trade deadline and wanting to.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Stay at the Big A.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
He will talk about that, and Kyle Kuzma says NBA
players are treated like short term contractors. The Milwaukee Bucks
forward said while owner's profit from rising team values, are
the players getting a raw deal? He will talk about
that and more. Right now, settle in. It's our number two. Hey,
(01:43):
I didn't do it intentionally. It really wasn't me. I
didn't do it intentionally.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Welcome in the beginnie of another hour of the Ben
Malor Show. We are in the a e.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
Re burning the clock as we feed the line coast
to coast. The line of hot takes coast to coast, border,
the border and beyond on the vast and flavorfully powerful
microphones of FSR, amminating live.
Speaker 2 (02:17):

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Here we are together again, and.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
As Paul and Ottawa points out, this hour made possible
by our friends at ti Iraq.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
For forty years.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Ty Iraq has been helping customers like our friend Jerry
and Rhode Island and Jonathan and Delaware find the right
tires for how, what and where they drive ship fast
and free back by free road hazard protection with convenient
installation options like mobile tire installation tire raq dot com.
(02:59):
The tire buying should be now, Andre Andre, Andre and
the Commonwealth and far out Dave. They love Home Depot.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Now.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
I've been to home Depot twice this week. That's a lot. Twice.
I've been to Home Deep. I went again, Home Improvements
mag I pick up a few things you know here
and there.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Little upgrade, as you know, Lorena, the women in the
world like to upgrade things the wife. The wife wants
to never good enough, never satisfy, to do always more,
to do me perfectly fine, no complaints, don't need to
upgrade at all.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
We are good to go. But if you do. Home
depots where to go.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Now, if you're married, that's a different situation. That's right, Well,
upgrade your feet. For World Cup twenty twenty six setup
build it like Beckham from living room to lawn with
the Home Depot and take the fast free delivery Assist
the Home Depot Official FIFA World Cup twenty twenty six
order subject to availability. I was actually walking around Home
Depot saying, build it like Beckham, you know, built it
(04:05):
like Benny. I changed it up a little bit. When
I was going in there, it was really exciting. I
was getting weird looks though, Who's this a hole?
Speaker 2 (04:12):
All right?
Speaker 4 (04:13):
Hey?
Speaker 1 (04:13):
By the way, maybe point out if I did not
mention that. I think it was Nick the Windy's guy.
I believe it was Nick the Wndy's guy that wanted
you to know about Fox one.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
The excitement of the FIFA World Cup is now streaming
live on Fox one, the official English streaming platform, to
catch every unforgettable moment. I know, hollering, James. Love that
Fox one bringing the action straight to your screen. See
you never miss a goal. Download Fox one and experience
the FIFA World Cup live and we'll get back to
(04:50):
the commercials. I know you want more, and we'll give
you more. We pause the commercials right now to get
to the monologue. I apologize for that, but we'll get
back to the commercials. I leave this hour from the
Delaware Valley, Phildelphia, PA, the birthplace of our Freedom, where
Saint Louis slugger Jordan Walker played Betman super villain to
(05:14):
win the home run derby over Kyle Swarber.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
We talked about that earlier.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Now another All Star made headlines who also plays in
that city of Philadelphia other than Kyle Swarber, who lost
the home run derby to Jordan Walker. So Philadelphia Philly
star Bryce Harper has he's made a statement regarding the
big hullaballoo that took place a few days ago. Bryce
(05:41):
Harper has publicly denied, denied consenting to or knowing how
the people over there at FanDuel would be able to
use a personalized video that he recorded for a customer
via cameo. Now, if you didn't see this or hear
about this, perhaps you you missed the story blew up, right,
(06:01):
The story blew up recently when a guy who says, Hey,
I was an addicted gambler, I'm in rehabbing all that,
he filed a lawsuit and he used, as I understand it,
he used this Bryce Harper video as evidence that he's
deserved a lot of money and all that. So Harper
(06:23):
posted on Instagram that he made the video in good faith,
he said, as a standard cameo fan request and had
no idea that it would be tied to a FanDuel
commercial slash VIP situation with this guy that has a
(06:43):
gambling problem. Harper said, quote, I did not know that
FanDuel would do this. I did not consent to it, Sam,
I am, and Fandul had no right to.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Do it, he said.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Had I known the true intent of the people over
there at FanDuel, Harper's quote continues, I would have made
the video. The same is true, or it says I
would not have made the video the same is true
had I known anything about Terry or his situation.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
That's the name of the guy.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Who is suing for a gazillion dollars. So that is
a good jumping off point. Let us discuss the question
Bryce Harper implying rather clearly here that he's the victim
of this fan dual cameo drama, old rama.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Do you have any empathy for Bryce Harper in this situation?
Speaker 1 (07:38):
So I've got Donald Duck, twenty four hour fitness and
rolls Royce, and we will combine all of these things
together and we will have the cone zone. Make sure
to slow down for the cone zone. Driving around a
lot of construction at night, so to slow down for
the cone zone. All right, So number one, what funn'est
(07:59):
number one. So I give crocodile tears to Bryce Harper.
That was, by the way, the word of the week
on the Fifth Hour podcast. Crocodile Tears. That's what I
give to Bryce Harper. Harper's sympathy plate has the emotional
depth of a Kinnie pool at a motel six.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
You feel me on that? Okay? Good?
Speaker 4 (08:21):
All right?
Speaker 1 (08:21):
So, like, what did Bryce Harper think that this video
was going to do? Did he think it makes no sense?
I surely do not understand. And by the way, Bryce
is a guy who has a three hundred and thirty
million dollar contract to play professional baseball in Philadelphia, and
(08:41):
he's charging over nine hundred dollars for generic cameos like
little thirty second videos on cameo nine hundred bucks, dude,
you got three hundred thirty Like what are you doing?
Like seriously, Like Bryce is swimming in cash like Donald
Duck's uncle Scrooge mcducky, he's loaded.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Good for him.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Cameo is for guys like me, overnight poorly paid gas
bags charging.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
I think I charged like a pulch.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
I think like fifty five bucks or something like that,
and I've raised it was lower than that before for
handcrafted goodness on cameo. There's no price gouging here, Bryce
Harper over nine hundred dollars, that's price gouging my opinion.
Can't sue me for my opinion, so listen. Harper comes
off as a total meathead to me, just a total
(09:33):
meathead on this. Ultimately, the problem isn't even the price
tag or the people that fanduels aggressive marketing and all that.
The problem is the gambler who looks at the clip.
As I understand that, in order to win the lawsuit.
And I don't read a little bit about it. I
don't know all the details, but as I was perusing
(09:54):
some of the stories that were available about this particular lawsuit,
essentially it's like this guy saw the clip Bryce Harper,
it was around Thanksgiving, and he lost his mind and
then decided, Okay, I'm gonna keep betting. I'm gonna bet more.
And that's like my manuge. I understand there are major
addiction problems. I was addicted to food for a long time.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
That was my thing.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
I love the food, and we're all addicted to something in
one way or another. But people love to pass the
buck as a society and blaming the app or blaming
a cameo video from Bryce Harper. Now, does this guy
have a winnable case? Well, the video is pretty damning right.
If he gets the right situation in court, I could
(10:40):
see him winning some money and getting some money back. However,
nobody forced this guy. Nobody forced him or anyone else
to you know, to get the app and to downloaded
and all that. And if you're betting all of your money,
this guy lost over a million dollars. I think it
was all close to two million dollars. You didn't do
(11:02):
it because Bryce Harper winked at you want a cameo video.
I don't think I wish you a happy Thanksgiving, so
I don't want to hear it. It's called personal responsibility
on some level. There Now page two to Anaheim, we
go where yet again for the second time, and recently
(11:23):
second time. Recently, we are hearing that Angels slugger Mike
Trout has not changed his position. We are now what
are we a few weeks away from the trade deadline?
It's today is July fourteenth, as we're doing this in
real time, and the trade deadline is August third, so
we're not that far away from the.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Trade deadline, and Mike Trout very happy.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
He's a happy Camper's got his chateau in Laguna Beach
right there on the Pacific, and he goes out to
the Big A and hangs out for a few hours
a day, goes back to his chateau in Laguna Beach,
and that's it, and he doesn't want to be traded.
Question what stands out about Mike Trout passing It would
(12:09):
appear if this report is accurate, passing on the opportunity
to play for a contender and wanting to stay at
the Big A. So Trout much like that guy we
just talked about with Bryce Arber. Bryce, listen, Mike Trout.
When all this is said and done, this is ultimately
on Mike Trout. If Mike Trout really wants to get
(12:30):
out of Anaheim and go to a good team and
he's only got a couple of decent years left, most
likely this is on him. You got to step up.
And loyalty is great if the employer deserves loyalty, I
would argue, I think most would agree that the Angels
are not a franchise that deserves that kind of loyalty.
(12:52):
And Bryce or not Mike Trout. Excuse me, Mike Trout.
He sounds to me like kind of reading between the
lines here, listening between the words. Mike Trout's like that
friend who's stuck in a toxic relationship and you're like, hey,
you gotta get out of the dude. Yeah, it's not good. Yeah,
(13:13):
he's gonna do something crazy. You're gonna end up in Jay.
I was gonna call the cops on you. It's a
crazy situation. And your buddy ignores you and everyone else.
He's like, your buddy's I.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Love her, bro I know you love her, dude, but
you got it.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
It's not good, and Trout doubling down, doubling down on
loyalty while the franchise has been a demilitarized.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Zone under Ardi Marine.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
I remember the franchise motto is affordable tickets, safe environment,
don't care about winning. That's the ARTI Marino angels right there,
market research, don't try to win, you don't need to
win as long as you have a safe environment. A
lot of bobbleheads kids run the basis, everything's good, Everything
is good, right, absolutely so whatever's in the water system
(13:59):
in Anna and Laguna Beach, Mike Trout is hooked. He's hooked,
and he's not hooked to trying to win.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
That's not it. And staying with the Halos. It's kind
of like.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Renewing your membership to twenty four hour finish the gym
even though you haven't gone to the gym since twenty seventeen.
You know, we I mean, I'll go, I'll renew it
and I'm gonna go. It's admirable. You're showing great loyalty.
If you're Mike Trout, it's not great decision making, it's not.
(14:31):
And his mantra clearly is work smarter, not harder, meaning
he's embracing load management.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Mike Trout.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Good thing about playing for the Angels. You don't have
to work any overtime. You don't have to worry about
playing October baseball. You don't have to worry about going
to play the Yankees and the cold weather or somewhere
else where it's nasty in October when the weather turns bad.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
No, no, no, no.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Now he is a Jersey guy, so he can go
back to and he can live in his home back
there and hunt and go to pumpkin patches around Jersey
and enjoy the fall weather and doesn't have to worry
about playing baseball games and chasing championships and.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
All that stuff.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
And he's gonna retire with exactly one career postseason hit.
That's how many has Mike Trout hit one meaningless home
run in a blowout game against the Kansas City Royals
in a playoff game. And it's like Joe Mauer, except
Joe Mauer, who also wasn't great. He actually had eleven
playoff hits for the old Minnesota Twins back in the day,
so it would appear, barring some kind of eleventh hour change,
(15:37):
Mike Trout has picked comfort over winning, and he's got
really no excuse. He's at the point now he's like, well,
he's not going to trade him now, good luck?
Speaker 4 (15:49):
All right?
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Final point to the NBA. Yes, just to annoy Wane
the Curmudgeon, some hot NBA talk where Milwaukee Bucks forward
Kyle Kuzman. That's right, Milwaukee Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma filling
the content machine this week. So Kuzma recently slammed the CBA.
(16:10):
That's what it's known for, or known as some call
it by its formal name, the Collective Bargaining Agreement Kuzma
went on a rant saying, quote, let's be real, the
CBA make sure that the owners, the funds, the private
investor funds, and outside investors can eat off NBA team equity.
(16:30):
But Kuzma said, the players driving the ratings and the
merch are treated like short term contractors. He went on
a diatribe on social media responding to a Jalen Brown
bitchfest about the way the NBA does business. And funny
thing is, quote continues from Kyle Kuzma, we should be
like independent contractors, Kuzma said, since we are W two,
(16:55):
we can't even write off certain things like our agent fees.
Bay he said, close quote all right. Question, Kyle Kuzma
says NBA players are treated like short term contractors while
owners profit from the rising team values.
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Are the players getting a raw deal?
Speaker 1 (17:19):
So on this one, I'm giving the rant and rave
by Kyle Kuzma a little side eye, little sidey Kuzma
crying about NBA players being treated like short term contractors
or they should be. It's for gazy, is what it is.
And this pops up every company. This is not a
new story, I admit it. It's just the latest guy
(17:41):
to do it, And so here we are. Why do
these guys think they deserve equity in a business they
didn't build, Like, I've worked here at Fox Sports Radio's
how I relate to I worked here since the network started.
Network's the top networking radio whatever that's worth sports radio.
It's the number one network in the country. I'm very
proud of that, right, and that's great. Do I go
(18:03):
into the boss's office and say, well, I get I
should get some equity in this. I've been here since
the network started. Why don't I get some equity? No,
they'd laugh at me, just like when my contract comes
up and they laugh at me. So why would I know.
I wouldn't do that. I wouldn't even think about doing that.
I don't have that level of Hutsbah, clearly these guys do. Now,
the NBA is a star league, right, Oh, the NBA
(18:25):
is a star league. However, stars don't own the sky.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
They don't.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
And they're more like these players are more like shooting stars,
and they dazzled briefly really impressive meteor shower and then
they disappear that's it. Or they're more like another analogy.
They're more like luxury rental cars. You go out, you
get that Rolls Royce, so that Bentley or more of
a Ferrari person. You rent that car, flashy expensive, you
(18:55):
pull up to the high end restaurant. All the hot
chicks are looking at you all. You're all excited about it, right,
and then when the mileage goes up, you just that's it.
The card goes back and they that's all like just
when I started, Uh, I guess I'm gona date myself.
When I was going to the NBA games as a
early I was a teenager, Larry Bird was still playing
(19:17):
Magic Johnson. These were the they were old at the time.
They were still playing in the NBA, right, and I
remember people saying, oh my god, no one's gonna watch
the NBA. These are the face of the NBA. And
this guy Michael Jordan came along and he was pretty good.
And then when Jordan got old.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
Oh no, no one's gonna watch the NBA because there's
no Michael Jordan.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
And then this guy Kobe Bryant came along. People seemed
to like him a lot. And then Kobe got all
and he went away. And then like Lebron James called,
you know, going along and he was around.
Speaker 5 (19:45):
Oh my god, No Lebron's getting all these good retire
No one's gonna watch Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Yeah, there's always somebody else.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Is that the assembly line always pumped somebody out, else out,
whether it's the Parisian progy, Wemby or some other jimoke,
there'll be somebody else. And through it all, the multi
billion dollar team valuations remained intact. The permanent institution, the
asset is the foundation of logos and all that stuff.
The labor force is where the volatility is in professional basketball.
(20:15):
Like fans support franchises and you like the players. I
don't discount you love the players that you're watching, But
no one last forever. There's no individual that last forever
in the NBA. Doesn't happen. And so if Kyle Kuzma
wants long term stability, I recommend getting a job at
the post office.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
That's pretty good stability. We have some postal carriers that listen.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
I know one of our buddies in Nebraska who I
met with his son at a meet and greet in
Kansas City.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
He's a proud mailman.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
He listens to the podcast every day while wandering around Nebraska.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
He's got a stable job. Good for him. The NBA,
the points listen in the.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
NBA existed before these guys, it'll exist after these guys.
And in the case of Kyle Kuz, no one's gonna
remember he even playing in the NBA. Is that too harsh?
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Is that too me? What's real? It is The Ben
Mahlor Show. If you'd like to be part.
Speaker 1 (21:07):

I believe I'm accurate, right, yes, And so we'll find

Speaker 2 (23:38):
She's very happy though.
Speaker 1 (23:39):

Speaker 2 (23:44):
Fan, that's a Bronco fan, your comments, and that's what
it comes down to, and we'll be used against you
in the court of sports radio. Thank you in advance.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
All right, let's get to it and without further Ado
heading out of Hollywood, Florida, and we say hello to
the man the myth, the legend. Just ask him, He'll
tell you the one and only weed Man Hippie. Hello, Billy, Oh.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
How are you there?
Speaker 1 (24:20):
He is right there, weed Man. Do you have any
thoughts here? Opening thoughts?
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Weed Man? To get the parties out of here, all
right Friday? Last Friday night?
Speaker 6 (24:29):
Yeah, there five eight in spaceships. I love that.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Yeah, what planet are you from?
Speaker 6 (24:36):
We are coming from God knows will, We're coming from
who knows what? Chalsey, We're coming from what universe? But
they get here, they're much more advanced than we are.
Speaker 7 (24:45):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Well, we are technically traveling through space right now, so
I would argue that you and I are also astronauts,
are rotating around, and we are in the.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
Cosmos, are coming here from from other.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
You don't know that it's possible that the hollow Earth
people are right and there's a whole different world in
the middle.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Of the lane. Do you remember Do you remember that,
weed Man?
Speaker 1 (25:11):
Remember when I was in Kyrie, Irving was with the Celtics,
and he was talking about the flat Earth, and then
we did a whole bunch of shows about it, and
then I was getting I was getting out, I was
getting flat Earth people and I Hollow Earth people are
fans of the show. And there's a theory and I
never heard that. Oh yeah, yeah, this is way before
you were on the show. So there's a couple of theories.
(25:32):
There's still people of the Earth is flat, not many.
And then there's allthers that think that in the oceans
there's portals.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Fat that's great. Well, people for years thought that.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
In fact, when when people explorers like Magellan and those
other people, they were worried they were going to die,
they were going to go off the end of the
Earth and they're going to dish. Yeah, how about that.
I learned that in fifth grade. Yes, all right, so
no opening fought. Okay, that was just about the aliens.
(26:07):
I guess that was just about the all.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Right, well, I won't get there. I understand much more
advancing we are. They have to be well, and who.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
Knows, what's your wonder if football teams, what's your definition
of advance?
Speaker 6 (26:24):
Well, we can't we can't travel anywhere. We can't get
out of this galaxy.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
All right, Christian writes in speaking of this.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
He says, weed man, we all know you are an
expert in the extraterrestrial world.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
Is Wemby truly an alien? Great question?
Speaker 6 (26:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Uh seven four? I think something like that. Wow, imagine
that he's a little taller than you. Right, it just
a little bit.
Speaker 6 (26:57):
Like a football, you know, all.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Right, Late night Drug tester writes in he says, today
is bastillde in France? Do you know any French words
or phrases?
Speaker 6 (27:20):
How do you go?
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (27:25):
Yes, yes, yes? Where is that?
Speaker 2 (27:29):
I believe it's like do you want to do you
something about a threesome?
Speaker 6 (27:36):
Though?
Speaker 2 (27:36):
Really interesting? That's is like do you want to go
to bed with me or something like that?
Speaker 6 (27:44):
I think, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, hey, all right.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
All right, got his name down. I know a couple
of French words.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
I know, deja vu that's a strip club, all right,
Cordon bleue that's that's eating like cordan blue.
Speaker 7 (28:01):
Blue, cheese blue, it's about b l eu.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
No, my wife's been watching this. She's got me to
the show. She loves watching about this chateau thing. They
like rehab chateau. That's her things. So you can actually people, Yeah, yeah,
you can buy a chateau in France. Though they're not
that expensive. You know why they're not that expensive? You
talk about a fixer Upper.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Weed.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Man, there's like a hundred rooms and it's it was
built in the Middle Ages, and there's a ton of
those in France, And so they made a.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Show about is this pretty good? Not bad?
Speaker 1 (28:38):
All right, Let's take a call. Mike is in Tucson.
He's a major fan of this show. He works at
the Great Barbecue Restaurant there in Tucson. He's always completely
hammered when he calls the show. Hello, Mike and Tucson welcome.
Speaker 6 (28:52):
Oh man, hey, hey, weave AT's big fats. I want
to ask you. You're from Florida. Have you ever had Patania?
I know Pakanya is a big time popped it of
me in Florida.
Speaker 8 (29:11):
Right now?
Speaker 2 (29:13):
No, no, no, that's that.
Speaker 6 (29:15):
We don't have all this said. But man, nothing changes.
One glass of wine turned into twelve Voodu rangers and
I'm not going to work tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
A little sick day there. I understand.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
I understand for those that don't know what is pekani,
it's like a meat type thing.
Speaker 8 (29:30):
I know.
Speaker 6 (29:30):
It's a popular meat from Brazil. A lot of a
lot of people in Miami, A lot I don't.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
I don't think Mike, you understand the type of the
type of a diet that we we has. I think
he's getting he's all the candy from Parita if Perito
sent him. If somebody sent you a steak weed, man,
you wouldn't know how to cook that.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Right, Well, no, you can't cook you can't. No, you
can't micro wave it.
Speaker 6 (29:57):
No, no, man, what's your favorite cut of steak?
Speaker 5 (30:01):
Man?
Speaker 1 (30:01):
Uh? I like, yeah, what about Rebby is fantastic?
Speaker 2 (30:08):
But he cooks all the flavor out of it.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
That's not true. Cool, I put sauce on it, you know,
I love, I love.
Speaker 6 (30:14):
But there's there's a there's a cut of meat a
lot of people don't know about. That's called chucky steaks.
Chucky steak the unicorn meat.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
But is that true?
Speaker 6 (30:23):
I wanted to call up about the raiders. I'm wrong.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Well, isn't technically isn't technically any any meat? If you
just cook it long enough will be good. Right, you're
the proper way.
Speaker 6 (30:31):
To cot No.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
I think if you cook it likes now, brisket is
not a great cut of me.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
But if you cook it along if he if he's
smoking smoker, yeah.
Speaker 6 (30:43):
Brisket is so rating. Michael Befriend These title ribs are
the best way better than brisket.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Yeah all right, my old what were you saying? We
meant what's wrong with Mike waving a steak?
Speaker 6 (30:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (30:56):
Yeah, yeah, we should we begin at a or where
do you want me to begin? Like, because it chewy?
Speaker 8 (31:06):
Well, first of all, you can't cook it in the microwave,
but if you're even if you're reheating it, it's gonna
make it all chewy.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Ands just get some double bubble or Vazuoka Joe bubblegum
and just chew on that. It'll have more taste and
more flavor.
Speaker 7 (31:18):
Oh whoa, calm down. You can definitely cook a steak
in the microwave, it says. If you cover it with
a damp paper towel to lock in the moisture, you
should be okay cooking it on a medium power for
a quick thirty second interval, and you just keep flipping
it until the steak is cooked all the way through
and keep it in that wet towel.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
Okay, yeah, yeah, you do that. Let me know how
that goes.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
Alf the alien o Pliny rights, He says, were you
sad to hear of the passing of Randolph Mantooth, who
played Johnny Gage on the hit TV show in the
nineteen seventies, Emergency.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Do you ever watch the show Emergency? Weed Man back?
Speaker 1 (31:53):
You never saw? It was a good show. I grew
up on reruns of Emergency and Chips and I was
going to become a fire fighter because of Johnny Gage.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
Rest in peace.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
So really he's not only anymore he's dead.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
I don't know how old he was. I mean, he's
got to be. He had to be in his eighties.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
I would think, let's see, let me see you en
up man to uh eighty exactly.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Look at that.
Speaker 6 (32:17):
Wow, he's a good life. He's a good life farm.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
I doest you want to go longer than that, though.
How old are you right now? Weed Man? You're getting
up there, right, you're sixty six? He's young. Yeah, you're
a young guy. You got a lot, a lot of
time left to do. Ask a weed man.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
All right, let's say hello to Andrew in Baker's Field. Andrew,
you're on with weed Man. It's ask a weed man.
No questions from Boso the district attorney. What's up with that?
Speaker 6 (32:45):
Clowns?
Speaker 2 (32:46):
Who loves that?
Speaker 4 (32:48):
What's up?
Speaker 6 (32:48):
Guys?
Speaker 2 (32:48):
Hey?
Speaker 4 (32:49):
Ben?
Speaker 2 (32:49):
How you been where you've been, Andrew, you've been away
a couple of days.
Speaker 6 (32:53):
Weed Man, I have a I have a thought. I
think Rob Manfred should take the World Series trophy away
from the Astros because we're all hating the Astros.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
Because good taken, good take, then.
Speaker 4 (33:12):
He should take.
Speaker 6 (33:12):
He should take away the trophy and then we should
all forgive them because we're missing out on a bunch
of good players like Bregman, Altuve and Ben and weed Man.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
Thanks for the time.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Well you started out well anywhere he socks Bregman socks.
They all blow, They're all terrible, they all cheated. Jay
Scoop says, I love the ask a weed Man segment.
He should have. It should be on cameo. I wonder
how much he would charge. Good question, Jay Scoop, How
much would you charge if you did a cameo weed Man?
Speaker 6 (33:46):
Wow, camyo would be great.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
How do I do that? Well, you can't even set
up an email, so there's no chance you would get
on cameo. Like I could say, I do stuff with
camp I could. I could give you a code or whatever.
I could get you on there, but you wouldn't know
how to do it. That's the problem. Like, if you
were able to pull it up, I would totally hook
you up. I'd get you on there. But you gotta
download an app, and you gotta have an email, and
(34:10):
you got to have a credit card and all this
other stuff. So oh oh uh super Marcus Steve says,
how dare you ask weed Man if he knows how
to cook a steak? Uh, you'd burn that steak, disrespect
that col's life. That's incorrect. Butterfly cut me and Rob
Parker f you and Kenny Albert, voice of the National
Hockey League. Also well done, steak guy, Kenny Albert, So
(34:32):
in your face, all right, get out your losers.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
You don't know what you're talking about this.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
But al Michael al Michaels, al Michaels, well done. Steak
pooka nakua, steak, no veggies, well done. I can go
on if you want.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
You know this show Weed right down the box for me.
Speaker 4 (34:50):
It's legal here.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
Yeah, you know I know that you say that every week.
That's how I know that. Yes, every week you tell
me love that I know you do.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
I know. All right, I gotta go.
Speaker 1 (34:57):
Thank you weed Man, appreciate it all right? Well, well,
all right, same time, same station. Next week, there he
goes our friend Billy. I'd give out his email address
and his social media, except he's forgotten the password to
all of them. I was like, wetman is leaving money
on the table. He really is, Like he's leaving money
on the table. Like there were people that love him
(35:19):
that are fans of the show, super fans of the show,
that would buy cameos and like send him emails and
probably send him money. But he has no idea how
to figure that stuff out, and he has no interest
in figuring it out, which is outstanding. It is the
Ben Mallor show. God bless him, God bless him. Time
now for the instock trivia and this is where we
pretend we're kind of somebody else. So way back in
(35:42):
the nineties, Blank became the first player ever to hit
a Grand Slam in both games of a doubleheader. He
also hit a Grand Slam single in the National League
Championship Series, hit a walk off grand slam and the
teammates mobbed him before he reached second base. By rule,
it only countered as a single even though he hit
(36:03):
the ball over the fence, the longest Grand Slam single
in baseball.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
History.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
That is the question looking for the blank the name
on that, that's the Insta tribute the answer and Mallard
the third degree.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
We'll get to that and we will do it next.
Speaker 4 (36:19):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 2 (36:31):

Speaker 1 (36:33):
Reminder to check out the YouTube channel at Ben Mahler
Show on YouTube. Click the Thing of a Jig on
there to follow the channel get Mallard monologues. You can
go back and look at that iconic moment when I
tossed the paper and nailed the camera and it was
saved by Jay Scoop on a screenshot. So check out
the YouTube channel Ben Mahler Show. That's Ben Malors Show
(36:56):
at the YouTube.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (36:59):
I want to be like Lady Gaga. My time out
for the instit trivia quickly. Back in the nineties, Blank
became the first player ever to hit a Grand Slam
in both games with a doubleheader. Also hit a Grand
Slam single in the NLCS hit a walk off Grand Slam,
but the teammates mobbed him before he got the second base.
By rule, it only countered as a single What a bummer.
(37:21):
Let's see who do we have in honor of Chris Berman,
who called the home run derby for many years? Chris
according to Hoyles from Malard prop Guy Dak Prescott from
Alf the Alien O Piner.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
Who else we have?
Speaker 1 (37:32):
Page nin Mark milk Wire from JT the Wingman, Kirby Pucket,
Guests by Miguel on Fire, Mike Blowers from Johnny Q.
Good name there, Sam Malone from Will Wally George. Guests
by Rebecca solid name Rebecca the ram Fan. Who else
do we have? Paige notts enough? Do you have an answer?
Speaker 2 (37:49):
The radar Denny's has the best grand slams. All right?
Is that correct?
Speaker 1 (37:52):
No, it's well, it's kind of a suburb of La
Robin Ventura with the Mets in the NLCS against Atlanta
nineteen ninety nine.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Here we go, it's Mallard. How about that? To the
third degree?
Speaker 8 (38:07):
Here we go?
Speaker 4 (38:09):
This is one big gets grill.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
Your pipe dream has come true.
Speaker 8 (38:13):
Koblu Ben Titan's running back Taj Spears says they've got
a new head coach, a new logo, and they're gonna
have new results. He vowed that the Titan's gonna have
a winning record this year. Ben, do you think that'll
be the case.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Well, they are playing a last play schedule, and typically
guys do get better when they leave the Jets.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
I'm talking about Robert Salam, the new head coach that's.
Speaker 1 (38:33):
Said I if they're around five hundred, Robert Salad should
be coach of the year.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
Okay, let's be honest here.
Speaker 8 (38:39):
Next all right, Ben Sean Payton is part of the
NFL's Competition Committee, and he was commenting on how the
UFL goes straight to the you know, live to the
booth when they have a review, and he said he
thinks that they'll have that kind of transparency in the
NFL in the next two or three years.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
Do you believe him? I don't believe him.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
I still think the NFL when you would go what
happened the Justice in Seattle with that game against the
Rams coop where the Rams got screwed on that ridiculous.
Just give Seattle two points. I don't believe the NFL
wants to give up total control, so I'll believe it
when it happens. I am very skeptical, Coop, very very
(39:17):
skeptical that the NFL will actually cross the rubicon.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
Just like you listen all these leagues. They like to
have a.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Little influenced in a little year and there a little help,
all right.
Speaker 8 (39:26):
Next, James Franklin was never able to make it over
the hump with the Nitney Lyons.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
Yes, but much of the dismay of LeVar aarringthing.
Speaker 8 (39:35):
Yes, but he just finished the annual tailgate tour with
Virginia Tech and he said he doesn't think he needs
to reinvent himself in order to succeed at Virginia Tech.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
Do you think that's the case.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
Well, he needs to get good players, he needs somebody.
I don't know the setup at Virginia Tech. I mean,
there was a time they had good teams every year,
the hokey pokey Virginia Tech for years had competitive teams
and they were you know, Michael Vick and all that,
and they were a player on the big stage college football.
Of course, you got to have people with money. I
don't know the most famous alumni from Virginia Tech that
are loaded, that have deep pockets.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
That's all you need.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
Now, Indiana sucked mine for the World and they won
because Mark you Haban paid for good players. So if
jam Franklin has someone to pay for good players, then yes,
Virginia Tech can win a national championship in the next
couple of years.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
I wouldn't bet on it. How did we do kooboalop?
You pass?
Speaker 6 (40:26):
It's a Chicken regular, right.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
I won the game. I won the
