my man, our lead.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
This hour from Miami, Miami, Miami, Miami, Miami.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
And that is where the welcoming party greeted the big
star known as the Greek Freak. He was welcome with
open arms there in South Florida. If he saw any
of this or heard about it, perhaps not never missed
an introductory news conversa. These things are like pepperrowis. They
are pepper rolli so giannisi dent tokumbo. He had a
lot to say, he said, among other things, he joined
(04:40):
the heat, he said, because he wanted to leave his
comfort zone.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
He said, join the.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Heat required leaving his hedes a happy place, he implied,
happy place there, describing the move at this point in
his career as a necessary step to keep growing professionally
and personally after thirteen seasons in the land of.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
The Cheese Kurds.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
There in Wisconsin, in the Greater Milwaukee area. He emphasized
that chasing greatness, he said, sometimes means embracing uncertainty. He
made it clear that he views the transacchon as a
challenge rather than simply a change of scenery. Okay, so
(05:24):
that is a good jumping off point. Let us discuss
the question for the panel, the Blue Ribbon Panel. You're
part of the Blue Ribbon Panel. Giannis Adenta Coombo says
he is leaving his comfort zone and that playing with
the heat is going to be a challenge. How do
you poke holes in this? I poke some holes in this.
I got fork fast and furious and swizzle, and we'll
(05:49):
combine all of these things together and we are going
to go out and play in those white sandy beaches,
in the beautiful turquoise waters of South Beach.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
That's what we're gonna do. But before we do that,
we always say.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Number one, number one, number one, number one, number one.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Oh what fun?
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Number one? It's number one, Okay, so let's start with this.
His argument, Gianni Saident to Coombo's.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Argument is like a fishing net.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
All right, there's a lot of holes in a fishing net, right,
There's a holes in it. And speaking of fishing, you
can also do that year round in South Florida without
having to dress like an eskimo. Now there is no
ice fishing in South Florida, but you can enjoy the
weather there. This is the classic tired athlete trope. I
(06:40):
am challenging myself while picking one of the easiest possible
landing spots. Gotta love it, Gotta love it. Now, Yanni's
talked about a comfort zone. I talked about the whole
comfort zone, leaving his comfort zone. And so he's relocating.
He got the old U haul and he's relocating from
(07:02):
a walk in freezer to a beach front cabana.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Is what he's doing now.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
In February. The average temperature in February in Milwaukee is
thirty three degrees, right, thirty three degrees. You know what
the average temperature in Miami is. Yeah, it's it's thirty five. No,
it's seventy eight. So that is not discomfort. That is
(07:28):
a forty five degree improvement. That's the spaw package with
the manny and the petty is what that.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Is there, and it sounds pretty comfortable to me.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Now.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yanis did not leave Milwaukee. He escaped.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
This has been going on for several years. We have
been documenting it audio commentary here every night, and when
we've talked about Giannis, there have been these little signs
just chipping.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Away, chip chip chip chip chip chip.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Chip chip chip, just like Shawshank redemption. As for the challenge,
all right, you gotta.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Be a app.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Salute income poop, a sucker to buy this. Oh, it's
a challenge, you know it's a challenge. Oh you at
the fork in the road. Okay, at the fork in
the road. Yannis picked the path of least resistance, not
that the Miami Heat were a heavyweight team, because they
were not the only real challenge though in Miami is
(08:25):
choosing between the sunscreen SPF levels.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Like, what do you want to do? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
I don't know. Thirty five. I should probably go higher
than that. Okay, I'll go a little higher than that.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
I don't know. I don't know what I'm doing.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
He hand picked the quote Heat Culture close quote where
Eric Spolstra is the ultimate supposed cheat code.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Just to ask him, he'll tell you.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Yannis basically selected a team with built in bumpers and
a bowling lane, and the actual challenge would have been
to stay in Wisconsin.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
That would have been the hard road to take.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
The Bucks won a championship because some guys got hurt
and they were able to win.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
That's great. Things are not particularly well. The Bucks went
for it.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
They got the player that Jannis wanted in Damian Lillard.
That didn't work out. Snap crackle pop. Now Lillard's back
with the Trailblazers and Yannis is.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Kind of hanging, hanging and all that.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
And if he had stayed there, that would have been
the challenge, all right, put the bucks on your back
and gallop into the winning circle again. Instead, he chose
the Wizard of Oz like yellow brick road, skipping along
the yellow brick road. We're off to see the Wizard.
We're off to see the Wizard. Pat Riley and friends. Yeah, Ryles,
(09:46):
all right, now pitched too. As for the wide angle lens,
the wide angle lens.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Okay, so.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
We've got a lot of time for basketball season, so
I'm sure we'll revisit this, But I have a show
to do today. So this adent to Koombo is expected
to form. This is what all the geniuses tell me,
one of the premier duos in professional basketball with Bam
out of Baio, who had the most bogus eighty something point.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Game of all time.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Instantly, this is expected to elevate, elevate Miami into the
championship conversation that they're a heavyweight team now in the
East with Giannis and Bam out of Baio, now, let's
just assume the position that Lebron does not go to Miami,
and it's still in play. We're doing the show right now.
(10:38):
As of right now, Lebron is not with the Heat.
He's not part of the equation, so put him off
the side. The question, is there any way the dynamic
duo of the Greek Creek and Bam Bam do not.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Succeed with the heat.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
So is there any way this does not work? Because
you're all telling me, man, this is so good. It's
like peanut butter and jelly, the Greek freaking Bam. So
is there a way it doesn't succeed? Absolutely right, It's
called the multiverse. Now for you casuals, you all think, well,
g'annisa dent to Cuombo, big name multi time MVP, Bam
(11:15):
out of Bios, got some good fantasy numbers in Miami,
and that front court there is an instant title favorite.
Just add just add some water and it's all rainbows,
lollipops and just just a tremendous defensive tandem there for
the Heat and man, they're loaded, but not so fast,
(11:36):
my friend, None, no, no, because if this dynamic duo fails,
it'll be the most predictable plot twist since a Fast
and Furious movie.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
You feel me on that, like it's a great idea
on a tablet.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
You look at the tablet, you're like, well, yeah, lo's
good playing a video game, and then you realize the
tablet and the video game does not have five defenders.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
In the paint.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
Everyone's treating Yannis and Bam like this blessed marriage. However,
it's actually two people who are fighting over the same
side of the bed.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
They both like the right side of it. Well, I
want I want the right. Well you can't have the right.
I have the right. Well no, I'm honest, I want
the right. Well no, I'm Bam. I was here first.
Then pat Riley loves me, he licks my toes, so
I get to have the right side. Well no, but
I'm honest. I've won the MVP woor a couple of times.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
No, no, but I'm I'm the chosen one, I'm the
I'm the favorite son of the Miami Heat. So I'm
Bam out of Bio and I get the right. But no,
I'm honest, I want the right.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
So there you go.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
They're fighting over the right side of the bed and
they're both non shooters who if you look at the
way they've played in their careers, they dominate the painted area. Uh,
neither one a really great outside shooter. And so without
elite spacing meeting the players around them on the Heat.
Unless you think Tim Hardaway Junior is going to be
(12:51):
the secret sauce there, you figure going in, teams are
gonna dare Jannis and Bam to beat them from the outside,
They're gonna clog, they'll lane And that's what I would do,
and I'm never wrong about these things, and leave the
half court offense looking like toxic bleach and ammonia mixture,
and you get.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
All bogged down there and disheveled.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
If you can't hit the outside shot, you throw in
Giannis's recent knee boom booze.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
He set some issues there.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
And so this master plan, the blueprint, it's just one
cramped lane away from being dysfunction junction.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
What's your function? Final point?
Speaker 2 (13:34):
So one of the other highlights. And I did not
see this live. I woke up watched it on the YouTube.
So during the Heat's introductory press conference, giannisident to Koombo
was welcome.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
We talked about that already. Pat Riley was there.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
And at one moment, which got a lot of traction,
pat Riley, the president of the Miami Heat, praised Bam
out of Baio's loyalty joking. He said, quote, I don't
want to get kicked out or knocked out, rather knocked out.
I only get knocked out, he said, referring to BAM's
altercation there with the player that was traded for Giannis
(14:09):
Tyler Hero, who's currently with the Milwaukee Bucks. The joke
was obviously it was interpretated many different ways. It was
most said, well, that's a parting shot at Tyler Hero
and you know Riley doing his thing there who was
sent to Wisconsin. And there was that back and forth.
They got into it in Viva Las Vegas Tyler Hero
(14:32):
and bam Adebayo. So the altercation at a practice events
stemmed from social media comments criticizing bab Adabio Tyler Hero.
There was some DMS and some other things that said
that he was essentially the teacher's pet, the preferred choice
of pat Riley, got preferential treatment and the value the
(14:57):
money thing and how they made sure the Heat him around,
gave him the contract and some of these other guys
they shopped them every year. So that led to a
eyeball to eyeball, nose to nose, shoulders shoulder confrontation where
bam Adebayo went Bam bam, and I suppose he struck
(15:19):
a Tyler hero. Now these social media critics Riley actually
getting some criticism Ryle's saying that it was not classy,
so unprofessional to take a cheap shot. Even though he
was praising out of Bio, it was perceived as a
cheap shot at his former player Tyler hero. Question, was
(15:40):
this pat Riley praise of Bam out of Bio a
jabb at Tyler heroes?
Speaker 1 (15:48):
A jabb at Tyler hero inappropriate?
Speaker 3 (15:50):
All right?
Speaker 2 (15:50):
So two for one again, was it Riley's praising at
a Bayo which was also a jabb at Tyler hero inappropriate?
So let's go to the judges gore cards on this
And I wrote down two words. Oh no, that's what
I wrote down. Oh my god, Riley made a joke.
Pat Riley made a joke. Quick someone called the sensitivity
(16:13):
police before the entire NBA collapses under the weight of
their feeling. Just like that, right, I just I roll
my eyes at this kind of crap because if you
honestly think that by pat Riley praising Bam out of
(16:34):
bio and taking a bit of a jab at Tyler Hero,
you think that was inappropriate, Congratulations, you have never been
within forty miles of a competitive locker room environment.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
This is a trip to the swizzle in South Beach.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
It's one of the more popular spots it was back
in the day there at least a few years ago
in South Beach. A vintage pat Riley cocktail, a little spicy,
I see, little performative, absolutely on brand for the Miami
Heat executive who has been doing this this type of thing,
Ryles for forty plus years. Pat Riley has been doing this.
(17:14):
Riley did not throw shade. He threw a Miami Beach
rental umbrella and told everyone to relax, just like that.
The former radio commentator, that's how pat Riley got into
all this.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
He was a.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Radio commentator with the late Great chick Her And you
can put it in the refrigerator, the doors closed, the
jello's jigglin and all that from the old legendary broadcaster
from back.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
In the day.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
But if anything right, if this was a message not
in a bottle, but it was a message about culture,
the heat, culture, accountability, grown man, locker room dynamics.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
This is not some kind of moral referendum.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
It is not. And so if you're one of the
these humorless hall monitors out there complaining, I recommend you
go jumping a lake. Okay, go go jumping a lake
right now, and just go find something real to cry about.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Just cry, cry, cry, cry cry, Just like that.
Speaker 2 (18:15):

Speaker 1 (20:47):
We're doing it live. We began this hour bouncing around
a lot.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Of hot heat talk as Giannis was welcomed with his
PEP rally in Miami and Bam out of Bio got
a shout out from pat Riley and supposed to be
the next big thing in the NBA. Giannis and Bam.
We'll see how that works out. Been burned too many
times on that to believe it. I gotta see it
before I believe it. Eight seven seven ninety nine on

So act accordingly. Got the World Cup finale coming up
this weekend. It's on Fox. It's on Fox this weekend.
And there's one thing that the people over at the
World Cup are not real happy about. They're not real
(22:17):
happy about it. And we'll tell you what that is.
And I don't know there's really much they can do
about it. It's not a great situation for them. And anyway,
let's see what do we have here.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
We've got kin to read that.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
Where do we are a lot of mad burns on
ex people are ranting and raving. Let's hear Kathy in Madison.
She enjoyed some of the songs.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
That we had on there. She was commenting on that.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
All right, let's let's see, let's go to a call,
and why don't we start out what a way to
start out hour two in the B block, And we
now go to our astrology insider for all the latest
information from the cosmic world.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
Her name is Andrea.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
She's the astrology Insider in Berkeley, California.
Speaker 5 (23:12):
Hello Andrea, Hello Ben, how are you?
Speaker 2 (23:17):
If I was any better, I'd be a Lindor, but
not a Francisco Lindor. Because it seems like the Mets
are now open to trading him. He's got no trade,
so we'll see if he wants to say goodbye to
the Mets. What's on your mind there, Andrew? What do
you got for us there? You always have good stuff?
Speaker 5 (23:34):
Yes, yeah, I'll definitely get to that in a minute.
You know, with mercury retrograde, believe it or not, I
remembered that with the Beny Awards, one of your callers
said that they were going to make like digital certificates
of the awards to the winners.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
And I remember who, Yeah, that was that Femi that
said that.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
I think it might have been Femi.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
No, that sounds right, Yeah, I think I mean in
Minnesota did that? Yeah, I'm not sure if he might
have not met that, maybe he changed his mind.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
I don't know. Maybe as possibly he's doing it. I'm
not sure. I'm not sure. Now did you consider Andrea
like doing an act? Did it?
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Did it cross your mind at all? Or you just
wanted to be in the audience?
Speaker 5 (24:17):
Yeah, you know, I really enjoyed the mal or palooza.
And I don't know. You know, my astrology is you know,
interesting to say the least, but I don't know if
it's engaging enough compared to some of the other figures.
Speaker 6 (24:31):
And I like you could have done like a tarot
card reading for the listeners.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
Oh that's a one of a.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
Visual thing, isn't it.
Speaker 6 (24:39):
No, definitely not.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Well, the cards though, you got to pull out the
right tarot How are you supposed to pick them?
Speaker 6 (24:46):
You just tell them which cards you're pulling.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Okay, Well that's an option for that's an option for
next year. You could do that.
Speaker 5 (24:54):
Yeah, I think about.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
Escort of you?
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Which which is your favorite tarot card?
Speaker 5 (25:00):
There?
Speaker 1 (25:01):
What do you, Loraina? Do you have a favorite tarot card?
Speaker 6 (25:04):
I'm a big fan of a desk card because I
like rebirth.
Speaker 5 (25:07):
You like Corpo.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Yeah, yeah, all right, very nice.
Speaker 6 (25:12):
I think the seven Cups card is abundance to write
something like that.
Speaker 5 (25:16):
Yeah, the major Arconnors, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (25:18):
I love that card too.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
That's a lot of our listeners are They like the
Hermit card, right, which is soul searching? A lot of that?
Speaker 5 (25:24):
Oh yeah yeah, rus Virgo the Hermit.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Yeah, there's a lot of that going on. So not
much of the Sun, which I think that's joy.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
Is that joy? Right? The Sun's the joy one?
Speaker 5 (25:34):
Yeah, the Sun is a very happy card. I have
the mother piece to road Deck. I said it was
Vicky Noble and it's this round, kind of feminist to
road Deck. It's quite interesting.
Speaker 6 (25:46):
They have tarot cards at Disney at Disneyland, and I
think I'm going to get real first deck from there.
Speaker 7 (25:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Oh wow, certainly that's coop coop a loop, that's breaking news,
coop breaking news. Your magic Oh I.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Love the Magic Shop. Yeah, I'm old enough.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
They used to used to be much bigger when I
was a kid, and then at some point they chopped
it down.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
It's half the size it used to be. But I
still love it.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
I always go there Main Street, USA. You got to
support the Magic Shop and Loraina. You should know this
because it's the most famous thing about the Magic Shop.
Who is the most famous Hollywood star that worked at
the Magic Shop at Disneyland.
Speaker 7 (26:24):
Oh oh, oh, my gosh.
Speaker 6 (26:25):
I totally know that.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
He's old now, but he's been a bunch of movies,
very famous man.
Speaker 1 (26:30):
Yeah, that is correct.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
I believe he lived in Garden Grove, if I'm not mistaken,
in Orange County and then worked at Disneyland as a
young man, and now he's an old man. But that's
what happens. If you're lucky, you become an old man, right.
If you're not lucky, you don't.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
But yeah, well this is interesting. You know, on the
scene of Mercury Retrograde, the Mett's Phillies game, I obviously
watched that, and it was the time was changes pushed
up an hour because of the smoke. And here we're
talking about Scorpio energy and Cisco Lindor is a Scorpio
November fourteen, nineteen eighty three.
Speaker 5 (27:05):
So, as you know, the Mets have one of the
highest payrolls in MLB and they're also in last place.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
So money doesn't buy you everything, does not buy you
a lot of wins apparently.
Speaker 5 (27:17):
Yeah, what is it forty one and fifty seven dance?
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Yeah, not good, not good.
Speaker 5 (27:23):
No, So like no one's off limits. And Steve Cohen
like kind of said as much, but I personally like Lindor.
You might remember the sage burning that he did to
create positive energy and clear out negative energy in the
clubhouse and dugout. Do you remember when he did that
last year?
Speaker 1 (27:44):
Yeah, it didn't work though, you know.
Speaker 5 (27:46):
It's no it's for give Rene for effort.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Yeah, I definitely the effort was there, for sure, the burning,
the sage and all that. I love stuff like that.
I can't remember the guy. There was a guy on
the Cardinals that did that. He went around, walked around
the stadium and he what was he?
Speaker 1 (28:06):
What did he happen? I think it was the same thing.
I think he had. Uh he's not on the Cardinals anymore.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
But he was burning stage to get rid of the
negative energy. And Dan Hurley, the coach at Yukon, he's
done that.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
Dan Hurley has left bags of garlic and he's he's
spritched holy water on the court in Connecticut. So he's
done all that stuff.
Speaker 5 (28:30):
Oh interesting, Yeah, I know you always have a lot
of interesting insights, and you know, it'll be interesting to
see what happens. You know, when did the trade. It's
August second, the.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
Trading August third, Yes, right.
Speaker 5 (28:48):
Yeah, that's coming up. So it'll be interesting to see
what ends up happening. But he's kind of a fan favorite.
I'd hate to see him go. But you know, they
only but that's.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
The old line goes, they said baseball about this guy
named Ralph Kiner.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
We were last place.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
We're in last place with you, we could be in the
last place without just so it doesn't know, nothing changed.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
Four was a scorpio two corner.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
Yeah. Place he was, he was with he was, he
was with the Pirates.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
And it's a it's a famous Uh, it's one of
the famous baseball stories. And I actually first heard that
from Vin Scully and Elaine Vin Scull from Yeah, Ralph
Kiner hit a bunch of home runs for the Pirates.
He went in there and he asked for a raise.
There was no free agency back then. He went into
the GM of the Pirates, guy named branch Rickey and said, hey, dude,
I'd like to raise.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
I want some more money.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
And uh, branch Ricky said, I ain't giving you more money,
and Ralph Kine.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
Was like, why don't I get more money?
Speaker 2 (29:45):
I led the league at home runs and then uh,
branch Ricky said, where did we finish? Ralph last place?
He replied and uh and then uh, well we can
finish last without you and that was that was that.
So branch Rickey more famous, I think slightly more famous
for the Jackie Robbins and stuff than he is for that.
But yeah, all right, well thank you so much. Oh
(30:08):
my god, there's some dial tone for you. I hope
you enjoy that. Okay, very aggressive?
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Hang up.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
So the next cup, yeah, a World Cup is coming
up this weekend, the final what's been going on? But
the final game World Cup Finale, the all of Europe
will be taking on all of South America, twenty third

South American champion. And that'll be in the stadium there
(30:39):

(31:10):
So the story was just going on. I got one
brother in Appleton, Wisconsin. My other brother lives in New
York City, and they both were sending me photos about
the air and how fed up it is from the
fires in Canada and the Canadian wildfires coming down. So
it's been a big problem that Andrea mentioned. The Mets
Phillies game was bumped up because of the weather. Not
(31:31):
the weather, the air quality, and it's a big deal.
This is the biggest event, they claim in the world,
the World Cup, and air quality is not particularly great
right now. Now, the people of the World Cup, there's
not much you can do. If this was in the
Middle East, they just build some giant fans and blow
(31:53):
some air and get the Canadian wildfire smoke out.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
They do that.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Unfortunately, they're not going to be able to do that
at for the game in Jersey. But the good news
is it sounds like the gods of weather are helping
out as there is expected to be rain. The air
quality in New Jersey is not very good right now,
it's poor, but rain is expected help clear up the weather.
(32:20):
The wildfires from Canada, I guess there's some in Minnesota
also affecting the air quality, and they were encouraging people
to limit outdoor activity if you're in a sensitive group
and all that because of the poor air quality.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
However, it looks like the rain is going to help.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
This weather is subject to change, so this is as
of a few hours ago. And Spain training indoors. They
arrived in Jersey on Wednesday after they beat France and
Argentina stayed in Georgia because they love Chick fil A
(32:57):
and that's where Chick fil A is based out of there,
and so they.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
Wanted Chick fil A, and of course you get Chick
fil A in New York.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
So we'll see how that goes Also, saw President Trump
is going to be at the finale of the World Cup.
He's going to attend and is slated to hand out
the championship trophy.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
At the at the World Cup. So we'll see how
that goes down.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
But President will be there hanging out and'd be great
if they all had to wear like gas mask when
they were at because the smoke so bad. They got
to play the game and all that. Anyway, it is
the Ben Mahllor Show. As we are rolling on, we
have Mallard to the third Degree.
Speaker 1 (33:36):

trivia question of the day. We go to the NFL
blank allowed only zero point three yards per coverage snap
in twenty twenty five, the fewest among defenders with at
(35:47):
least three hundred coverage snaps. That is the question. What
is the answer alf the alien? Opiner says, the late
great Rosie Grier is the answer. Well, they say things
happen in threes. I might have to do a eulogy
(36:07):
heavy Mallard monologue this weekend at some point. I don't
think I'll do it today because we do the recap
of the Mallard Palooza.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
But there's three people that lived their life.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
They died, but I had interactions with all three of them,
including Rosie Greer, who used to hang out the the
La Sports Arena back in the nineties when the Clippers
were god awful and it was really cool because he
was like in the middle of the OJ thing, the
OJ chase, and he would he didn't talk though they're
quite man. Rob in Minnesota says Deacon Jones, who would
(36:36):
be the all time sack king except they didn't keep
track of sacks for the majority, if not all, of
his career. Michael and Tulsa going with Mike Norvel as
his answer and analog Ol going with Christian Polisic ha
Ha Clinton Dix one of the top five names all
time in the NFL. Ha Ha Clinton Dix from Eke
(36:57):
in Roseville, Minnesota. Malard prop guych with Flubber. What else
do we have at Ben Mahller on X that's.
Speaker 1 (37:04):
At Ben Mahler.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
Eileen in San Francisco says, the Russian rat is the
ra is the answer? Who else can't read that? All right,
Kathy says, the smoke, by the way is very bad
in Wisconsin and Minnesota right now because of the because
of the fires. Okay, Stone Cold Steve Austin guests by
(37:26):
Shane in Des Moines Late Night Drug Tester going with
Brett Goldstein, who is forty six today from the Ted
Lasso franchise.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
Loraina, do you have an answer, Loraina?
Speaker 6 (37:39):
I'm going with Saquon Barkley.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
Okay, Well, really a great shutdown defensive back, Taekwon Barkley
all those years with the Eagles and the Giants.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
Unfortunately, that's incorrect. The correct answer.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Xavier McKinney of the Green Bay Packers.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
The safety for the Green Bay Packers. That's the answer.
Can somebody tell those Truddas to stop sending me seahawk porn?
Speaker 2 (38:03):
I don't need to see seahawk porn. He's sending me
like direct messages, a seahawk porn. I don't want to
see that.
Speaker 1 (38:08):
That's a violation of the FCC and EX policy. Here
we go, Here we go, Here we go, degree we go.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Bibbity boppity Biberty's boppity cupolo, here we go. Cooplelo, what
do we have on this edition of Mallard to the
Third Degree.
Speaker 7 (38:28):
Well, John Gruden said on a recent podcast appearance that
he wants to return to the broadcast booth, but this
time as a play by play announcer.
Speaker 5 (38:35):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (38:35):
Shortly after that quote, he was announced that Gruden will
handle play by play duties for a preseason game in
about a month? Yeah, Ben, how long before Gruden is
doing regular season play by play for one of the
big networks?
Speaker 2 (38:45):
Okay, so when does he settle his lawsuit against the NFL?
Speaker 1 (38:51):
Does John? Does he get to do it just because
he wants to do it? Is that how that works?
Speaker 5 (38:55):
Like?
Speaker 1 (38:55):
Hey, I'd like to have a network TV show again?
Can I get one? Because I'll just ask the next work.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
I think you have to show that you can do
it Number one and number two, Those jobs don't come
open very often. You think Jim Nantz is gonna walk away. Hello, friends,
And I don't want to do it anymore. So I'd
say the chances of John Gruden getting a network play
by play job in the NFL are less than ten percent.
Speaker 7 (39:21):
Next, a report on Tuesday suggested that Bronnie James will
not necessarily be following his father to a new team, Ben,
what are the odds you give to Bronnie staying with
the Lakers.
Speaker 2 (39:31):
Well, I would say if he goes to Miami or Cleveland,
the Lakers will be so happy.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
They will this will make their life. It would be
a honkey talk over at the Lakerland there.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
If he goes like Philadelphia or Golden State is much
less likely.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
But he's not. He can't play. The kid can't play.
He sucks. So if you can sucker the Heat or
the Calves to take him, why not. The problem is
lebron knows his kid can't play, so he'll probably be like,
I'll leave in La. I don't want to want my
team all right.
Speaker 7 (39:59):
Next, the Detroit Tigers were on a little bit of
a hot streak, going twenty two and fourteen as they
came into the All Star break.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
Kids call it a burner coop. The kids call it
a burner Now.
Speaker 7 (40:09):
Some think that the Tigers can make a push for
the playoffs because they have the second easiest remaining schedule.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
Yeah, Ben, do you think they can push for the playoffs?
I would love to say no.
Speaker 2 (40:19):
You know, it's my hobby to bury the dreams of fans. However,
the American League blows and so yeah, I think there
is a path. The American League.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
Tam is wide up. There's no good team in the
American League. They all suck.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
So yes, and the American League just get in. You
got a top pitcher. Absolutely, How did we do? Koopal loop?
You pass this edition that is a wind pass the
Jumbalayao
