Speaker 1 (00:00):
Bada bing bata boom. It's our dumbber two of the
Ben Mahlor Show on this Wednesday hump Day. How do
you categorize Rob Manford campaigning for a Major League Baseball
salary cap at the All Star Game? And where does Manford,
admitting that he failed with the luxury tax land with you?
We'll discuss that, and also what is the proper bucket

(00:22):
for the union calling MLB's commercials for a salary cap perverse.
We'll go to all of those places and more right
now here, it is our number two worthy of ad time. Well,
maybe not welcome. In the beginning of another hour of

(00:42):
the Ben Mahlor Show, we are in the air ev
readwhere riding the radio waves as we blow smoke, and
boy do we do that very well, very very well,
coast to coast, border to border and beyond on the
fast and nourishingly powerful microphones of FSR ammnating live do

(01:07):
it live from the basis as we cover all the bases,
Gair wrong teed human from the world famous Fox Sports
Radio studios, as we play Whack a Mole and Anthony
and Anaheim, who retired long ago as a celebrity caller.
He gave up the glitz and glamour and all the

(01:29):
perks of being a celebrity caller for the quiet family life.
But Anthony Anaheim knows that this hour made possible in
part by our friends at tire Rack. For over forty years,
tire Rack has been helping customers like analog Al find
the right tires for how, what and where they drive,
ship fast and free back by free. He wrote hazard
Protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tire

(01:55):
rack dot Com. The way tire buying should be now.
Truck Stop Fungus. Last we saw he was at a
sleazy motel somewhere in the backwoods of Arkansas, and he said, Ben,
even though I'm here in the boondocks, I would really
like to know more about that home depot. And I said,

(02:16):
you know what, your truck stop Fungus. You're the guy
that eats a bowl of chili and his tidy whities
and listens to the show. And so I appreciate that.
So upgrade your FIFA World Cup twenty twenty six. Set up.
Build it like Beckham. That's right, Build it like Beckham
from the living room to the lawn with the home
deepall and take the fast free delivery Assist the home depot.

(02:37):
Official FIFA World Cup twenty twenty six supporters subject to
a Veila bill a tea. And then it was I
think Destined from Tucson, possibly Scott from Northern Kentucky, who
reached out and said, Ben, you have to tell the
people about Fox one. I said, you know what, we will.
The excitement of the FIFA World Cup is now stream

(03:00):
live on Fox one, the official English streaming platform to
catch every unforgettable moment. Fox one brings the action straight
to your screen, so you never miss a goal. Download
Fox one and experience the FIFA World Cup. And there
is action this afternoon, and we'll MESSI advance and will

(03:22):
he take on the final rung to win back to
back World Cup championships. Well, they gotta win today. They
being Argentina against England. That game will be in the
afternoon on Fox one, so check that out. Our lead
this hour. Though, now I was planning best laid plans
of mice men and gas bag, so I was like, well,

(03:43):
the All Star game will probably be great. There'll be
a lot to talk about in the All Star Game.
So we'll get a couple of mallord monologues out of
the All Star Game. No game sucked, It was not
very exciting. The highlight was Kyle Schwarber having his earpiece
fallout of his ear three times and Dylan Ceees looking
genuinely annoyed on the mound while he was expected to

(04:04):
do an interview while facing Juan Soto in the All
Star Game. So our lead this hour is from the boardroom,
and that is where MLB Commissioner Rob Manford held court and.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Renewed his push for the cap, the cap, the cap,
the cap, the cap, the salary cap, arguing that the
payroll gap has become impossible to ignore as the CBA
Negotia Schaans continues.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
So if you didn't see this in the lead up
to the All Star Game, perhaps you missed it. Manford
highlighted what he claimed was a four hundred and forty
one million dollar payroll gap between the high spending, high
falutant Dodgers and the lowest spender, the Miami Martins. Now,
technically the Mets have the highest payroll in baseball. The
Dodgers have the highest payroll if you include all the

(04:56):
deferred money which they will be paying for years and
years and years and years and years and years and
years and years and years and years. Manford said it
defies human experience to ask a fan to think that
the bottom end of that gap has the same opportunity
to win as the top end. Close quote. How he

(05:17):
also said Major League Baseball owners are unusually unified on
the issue. Declaring quote, Manford said, I have an ownership
group that is more united than any group in my
entire time in baseball. So that is a good jumping
off point. Let us discuss the question, how do you

(05:37):
categorize Rob Manford campaigning for an MLB salarycap as the commission.
I've got Farmers Market, theater district, and billiards and we
will combine all of these things together and remind you
this is not going to pass the smell test. It's not.

(05:58):
My first thought is the the quote by Manford is
a double whammy, double whammy for baseball for the owners,
because Manford is telling fans of teams in small markets
that they really He's implying you shouldn't support the team

(06:18):
because it defies human possibility that a team that's at
the bottom end can possibly end up winning. So why
would you support a losing team. The other thing that
he's doing is he is it's a shot at his
own business, which he has run for all these years
that he has not been able to get these tightwad

(06:41):
teams to spend more money. The problem is not the Dodgers.
The problems the Marlins and the Athletics and the Rays
and teams like that. That's the problem, and he doesn't
want to address that. And it's not about saving baseball,
all right. It's not about saving baseball, as we say,
it's about saving billionaire owners from themselves. And of course

(07:02):
Rob Manford, who is hired as a conduit from the
ownership group, is going to say that they're completely united.
Did you expect anything else? Are you that biggest simpleton?
Do you expect Manford to come out?

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Yeah, we got like half the owners. They don't give
a crap. They don't they don't want to sell a gap. Yeah,
come on, voting to pay less in payroll. Just think
about this logically, And it's possible you've never owned a
business and you've always worked for someone, and you've never
done anything on your own. You've always had a boss.
But just think of this logically, If you're the owners,
and you put a rule in to cap how much

(07:37):
you've got to pay the players. Therefore, don't you guarantee
more profits? Isn't that the easiest vote to cast? And
Manford's talking about like four hundred he said, four hundred
forty one million in payroll gap, and that doesn't prove
the system is broken. It just proves that there are

(07:59):
many more cheap teams that treat baseball like a coupon
clipping hobby, extreme coupon clipping. And that's the issue, that's
the disease. Right, Teams who refuse to spend are the
ones who have failed baseball, and the commissioner doesn't have
the balls to call them out. In the Marlins A's Pirates,
the usual suspects, they could spend much more money than

(08:21):
they're spending. They can't spend as much as the Dodgers.
They don't have to, right, you just have to close
the gap a little bit. They simply choose not to.
They simply choose not to. And they've been that way
for years and years and years now. Manford conveniently leaves out, meanwhile,
a couple of things, and this is where he's working
at a local farmers market. Rob Manford working at the

(08:43):
farmers market cherry picking, and he is so good at
cherry picking. Rob Manford, Delmonte should hire him as an advisor.
He's that good. I notice that Manford never said franchises
are bleeding cash, that they're losing money, they're in the red.
Said that he can't say it because it's not true, right,

(09:04):
And if he does say it, then the players will
be Okay, show us. Let's have a third party and
let's do some accounting and we'll we'll audit the books
and we'll see if that's the case. He's not saying that,
you know, no, no, no, no, he's just claiming that
fans can't believe in the actual little guys. So give
me a bloody blake, give me a break. Even Ossiewash notes,

(09:26):
that's nonsense, right, that's not a real financial argument. That
is more like a fairy tale told at bedtime. Now
page two. So Rob Manford also acknowledged that baseball has
repeatedly tried to address competitive balance through the what they
call it the luxury tax. But you know what that means,

(09:48):
he admitted, quote, sometimes you got to admit you fail.
Manford said, all right, question, where does Rob Manford and
his admission that he failed with the luxury tax, where
does that land with you? All Right? So I took
out my GPS and the maps app on my phone.

(10:11):
On the GPS, which is never wrong. It pinned this
in the theater district, making this pure I'm talking completely
authentic kabuki theater. Manford's failure is actually a success story,
and it's a success story for something called the long con,

(10:32):
which Major League Baseball has been efforting since the nineties workstoppage.
The long con is used to justify a hard cap,
and this is all part of the master plan. When
he says Manford, we failed, it's a commissioner's dog whistle.
It's a dog whistle, and it signals to owners that

(10:54):
it's finally time to unleash the doomsday device, the union
bunker Buster from Major League Baseball's ownership group. Manford does
not mean the sport failed. He does not mean that
that's a misnomer. Rob Manford means, and the way I
interpreted this, that the luxury tax failed to prove we

(11:17):
can live without a cap. Right funny? How will eagerly
admit to that or he'll meet admit. I'm not admitting it.
He'll admit to that yet, Manford, I'm still waiting for
him to admit that he completely fed up, and he
let the twenty seventeen cheating as one thousand two, one
thousand holes them in Houston skate bang bang, whis the

(11:40):
whistle whistle all that during the World Series and let
them get away with that, let them skate like it
was a event at the Winter Olympics. And he'll also
never concede that those ghost runners are a stain on
the game. He won't admit that, choosing instead to treat
a Little League fever dream like some kind of sacred

(12:01):
baseball tradition. It's all backwards. It's all backwards now. Final point.
So the commissioner's comments helping to escalate the tensions, the
rhetoric going back and forth. Everyone's playing in the court
of public opinion. And the expiration date, the doomsday clock
tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick December first,

(12:23):
just after the World Series, December first, that's it. Turnout
the last the parties over. Yeah, that's the end date
on the labor deal. And so the Baseball Players Association
continuing to have their own rhetoric. They are passionately rejecting
the salarycap. Their argument is the sport is financially healthy,

(12:46):
and that competitive imbalance is caused by some owners choosing
not to spend money ding Ning Ning, Ning Ning, not
by flaws in the system and Meajor League Baseball here's
the key part of this. So they've been running commercials
online and also on old media promoting a salary cap

(13:06):
as part of their Level the Playing Field campaign. Major
League Baseball itself as aired ads pushing for a salary
cap and floor in the next collective bargaining agreement. Now,
union officials were asked about that, and they do you
think they A said, boy, that's great, it's wonderful. They're
running commercials promoting baseball and a salarycap. Be no comment

(13:27):
or see what the f is wrong with you losers?
Ding if you if you pick see, that's the right answer.
If you pick see, that's the right answer. Yeah, Baseball's
union said the commercials are perverse. Perverse is the word
used by the union boss. So the question what is
the proper bucket for the baseball union calling MLB's commercials

(13:50):
for a salary cap perverse? So the Baseball owners here
are running these I'm gonna call them with there sleazy
Super Bowls style commercials for a salary cap, and they're
doing it to brainwash the low information fan, the dullard

(14:10):
that's what they're doing. And they know there's enough dumb
dumbs out there that are mesmerized by a TV commercial
where they're like, oh, oh that makes sense, okay, and
they can convince people it doesn't seem great for the
business that you're telling people we must have a salary cap,
essentially because baseball is dying and the only thing that

(14:30):
can save it. The only silver bullet that we have
is this hard salary cap. That's it. So the proper
bucket for this would be the billiard's bucket. And you
talk about playing some dirty pool here, it is like
they hired Johnny Archer, the Scorpion great pool player, to

(14:50):
run the table playing some dirty pool. And the owners
want the fans to think they're behind the eight ball,
and the Union is entirely right to call this perverse.
They are. Owners are pushing this doom and gloom more,
this doom and gloom propaganda about competitive balance and suffering

(15:12):
small markets to scare everyone. But you know, what that means.
They really just want to crush the players and make
sure that the owners get more profit. And it is
one of the only things in life where a number
of people root for the oligarchs. You don't get this

(15:33):
in other spots. No one is out there campaigning saying
the people that own Walmart need to make more money.
No one's saying right, No one's saying, well, I really
wish Apple would raise the price of the iPhone so
we can make more money. No, as it was pointed out,
if they actually cared about the fans, they would not

(15:57):
be spending millions of dollars Baseball on this manipulative marketing campaign.
And Bruce Meyer, the guy that's the union boss, he
pointed out that the ownership group likes to talk about
the fans, the fans, the fans, the fans boss, the fans.
They all want this, they want this salary cap, right,

(16:17):
And as he pointed out, if they owners really did
pay attention to what the fans wanted, the Pittsburgh Pirates,
the Athletics and several of the teams would have new
owners sell the team, sell the team, sell the team. Well,
how often does that work? The only time it's really
worked is with the Dodgers and Frank McCourt and that

(16:40):
has turned into the Blue Dynasty of Major League Baseball.
The corporate Dodgers have dominated. However, here's the these owners
are wearing when when fans chant, you know, sell the team,
sell the team, the owners wear these special skull candy
headphones and that the headphone allow them to hear only

(17:03):
what they want to hear while they laugh all the
way to the direct deposit. And that's how they operate.
It is the Ben Mallor Show, and that's how we operate.

and get to that coming up in a minute. As
yet again, who goofed? I've got to know you'll find

(21:02):
that out, and a bunch of other fun things. We
started this hour with the labor negotiation, Rob Manford giving
an update at the All Star Game and oh what
fun that was? The Union responding back, Jay Scoop says
he's picking up his Palooza championship jacket from dry cleaning today.

(21:22):
The Masters has green jackets, the NFL has gold. What
color is your inspiration for the Mallard palooza jacket. What color? Oh,
the Mallard paloza jacket, like an electric blue jacket. I
believe that's how that goes. I think that's it. Mister
Irrigation writes in from Deep in the Heart of Houston.
Will mister Irrigation be part of the Mallard Palooza? Who knows?

(21:44):
He says, I found a book you are going to love.
It's called The Spygate, The Untold Story. I'm sure that
is absolutely riveting, absolutely riveting. Neil in Fall River Mass
writes and he says, Ben, what's your opinion on a
minimum payroll? So my opinion on a salary cap floor

(22:07):
is it is being overestimated the value because, as I
understand it, the baseball owners have put language in the
early negotiations saying, well, we'll have this, but it doesn't
have to just be payroll on the field. That will
include other expenses. And what's going to happen is you're,

(22:27):
much like they have in other sports that have a
payroll floor. You're gonna get the cheap teams, the tight
wad owners that are gonna be like, all right, well,
we're gonna be the very bottom of the payroll. El
Cheapo on a shoestring budget, and they will become a
dumping ground for bad contracts. And you're gonna see this
at the winter meetings. You'll see this in spring training,

(22:49):
where teams like the Dodgers and the Yankees and the
Mets and the teams that spend more money will be like, well,
we got to get rid of a bad contract. Let's
the need to get up to the floor. So that's
dump a bad contract on a team that shops on
the dollar menu at McDonald's when they used to have

(23:10):
that right with the McChicken and the sausage burrito and
all that stuff. And so there you go. It's it
sounds good in theory. In practice, I do not believe
it is going to go very well at all if
they actually get to that, which I don't believe they will.
I don't think we can get to that. Let's go
to the phones, cashing a golden ticket. His last full

(23:35):
day as the reigning champion, will he return to defend
his title? The winner of the Malor Palooza twenty twenty five,
Rob in the three two one, Hello Rob, Good evening, Ben,
how are you? If I was any better? I would

(23:56):
be sleeping, but I'm not. I'm here. Are you going
to be back in this thing?

Speaker 3 (23:59):
Rob?

Speaker 1 (23:59):
Are you gonna be part of the Mallet Blues again?
Are you just gonna sit this one out? You've already
won your championship? Is that good for you? Well?

Speaker 5 (24:06):
You know they say if you catch lighting in a
bottle one time, you probably should only do it one
time to get your my kids earned a second time,
and I don't you know they always say you don't
ever correct the host, but I have to correct.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
You on this one.

Speaker 5 (24:19):
I won in twenty twenty four, so I think it
was Jay Scoop who won last year.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
But it definitely all I say. Cool? But am I
getting the years mixed up? You you confirmed that, Coop?
Didn't you confirm that was last year? Thought it felt
like last year?

Speaker 2 (24:32):
That was?

Speaker 1 (24:33):
That was two years ago? Yeah? Yeah, really, geez, we've
been giving erroneous information. We'd like to apologize on behalf
of Fox More Radio for this erroneous I mean I
checked with my fact checker Coop a little. He backed
me up on that, so it seemed like it was
last year? Is two years ago?

Speaker 4 (24:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (24:49):
Twenty four?

Speaker 5 (24:50):
I was I was a dark Yeah, I was a
dark Horse candidate. I did the SpongeBob square Pants best
day ever.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Ben maulltains, Yeah, felt like that was last year. No, No,
we all agree it was last year. You you're the
one was wrong. You're doing You're messing with us, You're
gas lighting us. How dare you?

Speaker 3 (25:12):
No?

Speaker 1 (25:13):
I swear to gosh it was twenty Lorraina, do you
think it was last archives? Lorrainda? Do you think it
was last I swear it was last year.

Speaker 5 (25:21):
Coop do you know Jay Scoop one? Jayscoop one, He
won his sixth strap, he won his six golden microphone.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
It was not me.

Speaker 5 (25:31):
I wanted twenty twenty more?

Speaker 1 (25:32):
All right? How could we? Is this what do they
call it? That Mandela effect?

Speaker 6 (25:37):
Is that what?

Speaker 1 (25:37):
I guess?

Speaker 3 (25:39):
This is the.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
Magazine I can I can actually search the old part
should be inside of Cornucopia. You know what I'm saying. Yeah,
we all share the same false memory, I think.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
Okay, obviously everybody knows that SpongeBob SquarePants was the Rookie
caller of the Year in twenty twenty five. That's where
I think you were getting things confused. I know the
SpongeBob square Pants caller because obviously you know who it is.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
But even though you are denying that you won the
Beny Award last year, we are. We don't care. We're
saying you won or I'm not the Benny word, We're
saying that you won the malord Palusa to just just
agree with us, because that's what we're sure.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
That makes me a back to back winner. But no,
I gotta work that. I have to work the dreaded
days shift so I will.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
Not be boom boom.

Speaker 5 (26:31):
What did you say?

Speaker 4 (26:32):
I you second that?

Speaker 5 (26:34):
Oh, come on, give me some love here. How can
I make it up to you for next year? I'll
have to come back with something bigger and better.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Well, yeah, if you can do something next year, it
would be great. We always plan ahead a year in advance,
and so if you want to start working on something,
you're very good at impersonations. So let's see what you got.
Surprise me, see what you got? All right, come up
with something? All right?

Speaker 5 (26:56):
Well, I still am trying to work on a Malardine
greet for twenty two twenty seven in Orlando, so I'm
thinking of that.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
Would be That would be great. We'd love to come
to Orlando and hang out and Lorene is addicted to
all Disney's. I actually want to go so bad right now,
and I want to go to Universal Studios and I
want to Yeah, Okay, calm down, that's the perfect time
to go.

Speaker 5 (27:15):
Plus I'm getting ready for a trip. I'm going to
the line next week, so getting ready. Hey Darko, if
you're out there, where can I find you so I
can come and see your perform and give you a
give you an honest opinion.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (27:28):
All right?

Speaker 1 (27:29):
With reach Out, I can get you guys in contact
with each other because Dorko does send me messages. All right, Well,
thank you.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
I have a good evening, gentlemen and ladies.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
Rob Rob in the three two one, There you go,
all right? Uh, very nice. So we've been hornswaggled by
the Mandela effect, which is unfortunate. It appears that is
the case. Let's say wild we all have that wrong. Yeah,
we all have the same memory. There's no way we
all agreed. I checked with Coop. Coop said yes, he

(27:59):
robing the three to them, and then you agreed with everyone,
and so we just went with it. Jay Scoop somewhere
is like, what the F I mean? How could you
not wait? What are you doing. Let's say hello to Andrea.
She's in Berkeley. She's the astrology insider and a fan
favorite of Anthony in Louisiana. Hello Andrea, Hello man, how

(28:20):
are you? If I was any better, i'd be a
full moon or a new moon, Yes, exactly. Weird weird
things going on, and i'd fish washing up ashore.

Speaker 6 (28:32):
Yes, we've got mercury retrograde. That last oh, mercury retrograde
and the ear piece falling out of ears that was
very mercury retrograde at Wills. Communication and confusion and some misunderstandings.
So just a reminder from the mal or militia. Mercury

(28:55):
is retrograde June twenty nine to twenty third. So again,
you know, in terms of.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
Communications, I know in California here the I believe it's
called the Grunion, right, the Grunion come ashore here based
on the the moon. And how do the sing know
where the moon is? Right? Yeah, that happens I think
every every so often. I know it's it's going on
right now in southern California where they annually and I

(29:27):
think all the way up to the Bay Area where
the beaches are covered with the Grunion.

Speaker 6 (29:32):
Oh, I'll have to look into that. The grunion.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Okay, I'm going to go based on this, based on
the lunar cycle. Yeah, migration and the spawning of the grunty. Oh,
the tih high tides and all that.

Speaker 6 (29:47):
Yeah yeah, oh no, thanks for jarringt No. You know,
the natural world is very tuned in to the cycles
of the moon, and we happen to have a new
moon in cancer and that rules food, family ceilings, and
that was actually a good timing the All Star Game,
all the families and the emotions and you know, virtue

(30:09):
retrograde in the background with some of the snaffoos I
that might.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Be going on. I think that's going on right now,
Like the grunion go on the beach to make whoopee,
and when there's a new move and then they have
their mating and then they go back back in the water.
But it's crazy, like the images of this, I've not
seen it in person, but there's like thousands of fish

(30:33):
that just line up on the shore. It's pretty crazy.

Speaker 6 (30:36):
Oh well, well, I'm here to learn and grow. I'm
going to educate myself more on that and shout out
to Dylan Cees. He pitched her gem Capricorn December twenty eighth,
nineteen ninety five, having a sad return twenty eight to thirty.
And that's the cycle of career accomplishment. And that was great.

Speaker 4 (30:57):
That was like three.

Speaker 6 (30:57):
Innings pitched and no kids, and it was just really
a powerful way to get the All Star Game started,
at least to the American League.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
It was so that was it was much the whole
That was pretty much the whole show.

Speaker 6 (31:12):
It was, wasn't it.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Yeah, pretty much that was it. And well there'd be
a lot of offense, it doesn't matter. There's a lot
of baseball to be played, and uh not so much,
not so much.

Speaker 6 (31:24):
Yeah, but you know, the Mercury retigrade. That's what really
got me. With the airpieces and the interviews, I think
that really was confusing for the fans.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
There was a lot, there was a lot going on.
There was a lot, yeah. There the baseball was kind
of in the background. You had at one point they
played every patriotic song, which is fine, great, wonderful. They
had guys holding sparklers. They did a sandlot thing of
a jig with kids on bicycles that rode out and
it was like there was a lot of stuff going on,

(31:53):
like Geez and the Sandlot. How old is that movie? Now?
They had Ray Charles, who's they played the Charles his
famous song he gets thirty three Sandlot's thirty three years?

Speaker 4 (32:06):
I think, so double check that.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
Coop.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
All right, yeah, look at me. Roun ninety three came
out and they're doing a Sandlot thing that's relevant. And
Ray Charles, God bless him. He's been dead for twenty
years at least, right, So.

Speaker 6 (32:23):
To remember Ray Charles, I do.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
I'm old too, I know who Ray Charles is. A
two thousand and four, So yeah, twenty two years. Holy crap. Well, hey,
there you go. Very relevant. Well thank you, Andrea, appreciate that.
There you go the great Andrea and Virgo in service
on X if you'd like to say hello to her.
I also like to point out that our guy Scrooge

(32:48):
getting older, he's losing his memory. He also fell for
the Mandela effect. I think, so I double checked. It
was Jay Scoop last year false memories. Yeah, if you
apologize to Jay Scoop and all that, I got, fer
Dog says A nine two one zero had an entire

(33:09):
episode about Brandon wanting to see the grunion. It's a banger.
There's another relevant reference. Very happy about that. Mister Irrigation
says it was Jay Scoop that won last year. He
got the ring. Have you seen the two hundred and
fifty year dime yet?

Speaker 2 (33:26):
No?

Speaker 1 (33:26):
I have not. I have not seen the dime. I'm
still bitter about the penny being canceled. A bad job
by everyone involved. Do you have a penny collection? Ben? Now,
my dad did. We got rid of it. You know,
it passed away years ago. We got rid of it,
but I still have a bunch of pennies around. Does
that mean that you need to change the name of
penny versus the penny because the penny will no longer

(33:47):
exist now? The penny's a classic item. It's part of Americana,
it's part of history. The term has been grandfathered in
the penny. But people will start to forget what a
penny is. You'll ask a kid in twenty years, what's
a penny? You'll be like a what Oh ask a
kid right now? They don't even want to pay what's vhs?
You don't have to wait, you don't have to wait
twenty years. So we'll push back the beat blooper, the

(34:10):
beat blooper. We'll push that back. We have Mallard of
the third degree. That is molments away time now though,
for the in stock trivia, and we'll go to the
NFL for this. Blank led the NFL with fifteen fifteen
explosive plays, that's plays of fifteen or more yards on
third and fourth down during the twenty twenty five season.

(34:32):
I have all the playmakers in the NFL. Blank led
the league with fifteen explosive plays fifteen plus yards or
more fifteen yards or more on third and fourth down
during the twenty twenty five season. That is the in
stock trivia. The answer. We'll get to it and we

(34:53):
will do it next.

(35:58):
All right, back to it we go, And here is
the Insta Insta trivia. Blank led the NFL with fifteen
explosive plays of fifteen or more yards on third and
fourth down during the twenty twenty five season. That is
the Insta Trivia. What is the answer? Let's see, does

(36:20):
anyone know? We have Mallard the third degree moments away
alf the Alien opiner going with Nelson Mandela who was
part of the twenty thirteen Mallarpalooza. Justin Jefferson from FEMI
Mallard prop Guy says hollering James known for leaving the

(36:40):
competitors in the dust with his explosive acceleration. Shamir Gibbs
from EKE in Roseville, Minnesota. Stefon Diggs guessed by Michael
in Tulsa, Harry Dean Stanton from our buddy Natron in Stockton,
who's always at the Malla meet and greet we do
in Vegas? To Von Austin, there's a funny name from Ryan.

(37:02):
That's our buddy Ryan in Mexico. I believe what else
do we have to see? Page Dan? Can't we Rolando Blackman?
Guessed by Shane in Des Moines? Christian ponder? Why would
you even ponder? Passing Rioy and Compton? What's your answer, Loray? Now,
Matthew McConaughey, Is it Matthew McConaughey. No, it is Cooper

(37:22):
Loop's favorite wide receiver, Courtland Sutton, the Denver Broncos who
let the NFL and yards on third and fourth down.
Here we go, Here we go, Here we go. Mallard,
how about that?

Speaker 4 (37:33):
To the third degree, this is one big event gets grilled.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
Coop ah Loop, an anonymous NFL personnel evaluator, predict this
week that I.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
Love those Coop yeah, and why I just can't get
the great sources.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
They predicted this week that Lamar Jackson will have a
big year, saying this is like a contract year for
him coming up like a contract here, Ben, do you
think Lamar will have a bounce back season this year?

Speaker 1 (38:03):
The issue with Lamar's health and he's getting older. He
does not appear to be taking care of himself. My
boots on the ground tell me he's enjoying himself, which
is great. But as you get to a certain point
in your athletic career, if you do not take care
of yourself, it eventually catches up with you. And that
if he plays, he'll be fine, but he's gonna have
the auchies and he's gonna have the injuries, and so

(38:27):
it doesn't matter. He's gonna get peet either way, whether
the Ravens pay him or he's got enough MVP awards
and enough on his resume that someone's gonna pay him.
So he'll get the money whether he has a big
year or not.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
Next the NFL is revealing their annual top one hundred
player rankings, and Micah Parsons isn't happy about where his
quarterback landed. Seventy one players in the NFL aren't better
than Jordan Love, Parsons road, Ben, is Love properly ranked.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
Well? Michah Parsons, you know, to quote Tony Bruno. It's
an outrage. You know, it's not the top quarterback. Obviously,
if you just go by quarterbacks, Jordan Love would be
higher than seventy one. I think that's about right. There's
a lot of players in the NFL's eleven positions on
offense eleven positions on defense. That seems about right to me.

(39:13):
Jordan Love is inconsistent. There are moments he's the top
quarterback in the NFL. There's a lot of moments where
he's average, a lot of moments where he's not that great.
So I don't think it's about where he should be next.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
The Dodgers are the best record in baseball and are
predictably a top most power rankings. Then which team do
you think puts up the greatest challenge to a three peat?

Speaker 1 (39:32):
Well, if everyone's clicking, obviously, the Yankees are in the
World Series down the line, the Philadelphia Phillies. I don't
really think the Atlanta Braves that much, or the Milwaukee Brews.
How do we do cool? You pass this mission that's
over and putting on the board
