of the podcast today. So here at hour number three.
What jumps out about the wording from Jaden Daniels, the
quarterback in Washington, regarding his very public beef with LSU.
We'll talk about that, and can you give the subtext
the Dion Sanders and his draconian rules for the media

(00:43):
at Colorado. We'll talk about that. Gino Arima says that
the WNBA has been hijacked by politics. What do you
make of that wording from Gino Rimo. We'll go there
as well, and who knows what else. It's a holy
jaca moldy edition of our number three and it's coming

(02:55):
So our lead this hour is from where that would
be none other than the Beltway as Jaden Daniels making
all kinds of headlines here the Washington quarterback, and he
has now broken his silence over his public hissy fit
in Baton Rouge not happy with the Bayou by their

(03:22):
gangster name LSU. And this after Daniels fired off a
cease and desist letter demanding you stop using my name
and my image and my likeness my nil. You cannot
use my nil. So I don't know if you heard
what he said or not. It's an interesting story. Daniels

(03:46):
saying that he did not personally personally send the letter.
He explained that the matter was handled by his representation.
He said that that was my representation. That wasn't me.
It's a quote that wasn't my representation. That was my representation,
that wasn't me. Close quote. Now, the controversy stems from

(04:11):
LSU continuing to use Jade and Daniels' image and honoring
his legacy and celebrating his legacy and then also reissuing
his number five jersey so there's a player on LSU
this year wearing the number five jersey. Now, Daniels attempted

(04:31):
to distance himself from the legal wrangling that's going on,
the maneuvering, saying he still has a love for LSU
and indicated there was no personal animosity towards the university.
All right, So that is a good jumping off point.
Let us discuss the question what jumps out? What jumps

(04:54):
out about the wording from Jade and Daniels the Washington
command quarterback regarding the beef. Where's the beef with LSU?
All right? So I've got shaggy airport leadership, seminar and
smoke detector, and we will combine all of these things

(05:19):
together and we are going to be in the same ballpark.
Isn't that exciting? So first of all, I would like
to be the first person on the Overnight show on
Fox Sports Radio to congratulate Jade and Daniels. I want
to give this man a bouquet of flowers. Jade and
Daniels turned a jersey number, right, a jersey number into

(05:45):
a geo political crisis. So seriously, a tip of the headphone,
a tip of the hat, the whole thing way to go.
You played yourself, dude. Now, Internet investigators have already determined
the reason that Jaden Daniels is in the soup is
couse of Mama Bear, and you don't upset Mama Bear.

(06:07):
This is a classic case. It would appear based on
the circumstantial evidence of a over zealous mama protecting the
legacy ever saw it, even though she's misguided, right, and
she's guarding the number five jersey at LSU like it's
the nuclear launch codes. It's not. It's just a number,

(06:30):
that's all it is. Nobody erased your LSU career, and
I understand the common courtesy is to retire the number,
to take it out of service and all that stuff.
Yet the problem with this is the approach. You made
yourself a laughingstock. You played yourself, right, as we said,

(06:51):
coughing up a numerical furball Jaden Daniels. And listen, here's
the deal, Aiden Daniels. I recommend hiring a housekeeper because
he's got to get his house in order. The entire
clown show that that this is is. It's unnecessary damage

(07:14):
to his brand, if you want to call it that.
But when when the backlash arrives. Here's the problem. You
don't get to toss your camp under the bus. And
and this is the classic a I'm gonna play that
shaggy defense. It wasn't me, It wasn't me. Uh yeah uh.

(07:34):
These are your people representing you, ding ding ding ding ding. Yes,
And if your people Jadeen Daniels are launching cease and
desist like those old Patriot missiles back in the day,
you don't get to pretend that you're Switzerland eating coco.

(07:55):
You don't get to do that. And that's unfortunately how
adulthood works. And right now you're looking like a total
jackwagon at this point. Now, speaking of jackwagons, page two,
we head now to prime time or coach Prime. Another
genius here, another MENSA member, so Deon Sanders and the

(08:19):
Colorado football team held the first open practice of his
tenure this week. But yes, they imposed draconian rules and
restrictions on reporters and fans who dared attend the open practice.

(08:39):
Attendees were required to hand over their own phones. Yeah.
Media members were prohibited from taking any kind of notes,
recording any audio, any video, or photos, or posting real
time updates. Colorado sent out email declaring the practice was

(09:03):
open for viewing purposes only, they said, and they said
it was closed for all reporting, recording, and documentation purposes.
Now Sanders, the czar of Colorado Football. His directive went
even further, Dion Sanders saying that nothing observed at practice

(09:24):
may be reported, published, posted, broadcast, or otherwise shared in
any form without the express written consent of Major League Baseball.
I may have added that last part. He said, on
any platform, at any time, at any time, anywhere. Yeah,
so the school issuing a warning that anyone, any man, woman,

(09:47):
or child violating that policy could be removed, lose credentials,
and have your future ASSSS access restricted, affecting their chances
of working and all that. So all right, question, can
you give me the subtext to Dion Sanders media rules

(10:09):
at Colorado? Give me the subtext on that. So the
subtext on this is rather simple. You talk about Dion,
he's one of the great princes of football, I say,
the prince of college football coaching. He has now been promoted, Dion,
to the prince of paranoia. So congratulates, what exactly are
you hiding?

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Like?

Speaker 1 (10:29):
You've had no open practices The last couple of years
and you've absolutely ridden the vomit comet. So why don't
you just give the playbook to somebody and haven't posted
on social media? It might actually help you out, all right,
Colorado should change their mascot from the Buffalo's to the Bullies.
Colorado bullies uh threatening media credentials while restricting independent reporters. Now,

(10:56):
from what I was reading, as I understand it, the
kids of Dion Sanders they have their own media operation
and they still are allowed preferential access and the prime
time branding machine keeps humming along, chirp yep, just like that.
And Colorado, listen, they were thirsty. They sucked for years

(11:20):
and years and years, been like a generation, so they
got all excited. Dion's a great publicity guy, heype man,
so they hired Dion Sanders and we're fans of the
idea has been great for us, and unfortunately Colorado created
this coaching monster, giving it free rein and now it's
eating the sofa, which is a bit of a problem.

(11:41):
Like I had no idea that Dion Sanders watched one
of those airport leadership seminars and was a big fan
of Mussolini and Kim Jong un. In fact, there's a
rumor on the internet. I'm sure it's not true, but
it may be that Colorado's next train camp will be
held in Pyongyang. That that's what they would like. They

(12:04):
really appreciate the way the North Koreans keep their media
in line. And we wouldn't be shocked if the next
memo instructing the reporters who cover Colorado address Deon Sanders
as respected comrade Deon Sanders like Colorado again. They created
this and now he's eating the lazy boy. And you

(12:24):
wanted coach Prime with no guardrails. Congratulations, you now have
not Coach Prime. You have Supreme Leader Prime on the sidelines. Craziness. Craziness. Now,
speaking of craziness as you have, if you've been listening,
you know as you whittle away the time with me

(12:45):
that I generally do not rally the troops to talk WNBA.
I don't. It's just not really about the sports. I've
ranted about that for a while. Now, I mean, I'll
talk about it because occasionally there's something that interests me.
This is the rare and appropriate time I'm gonna circle
back to this because there's someone named Gino Arima who

(13:07):
is if you like women's basketball. I guess he's a big
deal at Connecticut. There and beautiful stores Connecticut, which I
drove through, by the way, nothing but trees when I
was making my way to Wooster back from New York,
so I drove right through there. A lot of trees
at the campus of Yukon anyway, Gino Arima says the
WNBA conversation that's been going on has been capital H hijacked,

(13:34):
capital H hijacked by political and cultural controversies instead of
being all about the basketball. That's what he said. Arima
arguing that although the WNBA is getting what he called
unprecedented attention, attention is not necessarily beneficial to the long

(13:56):
term health of the league when discussing the When the
discussion is all about politics, and that is all it
is about. Nobody cares about these players and their ability
or the outcome of the games. It is on the
back burner now, fron backburner. Rima went on to say
that he believes the w NBA has become more overly

(14:19):
politicized than any other major sport. Hard to argue with that,
saying you don't see that in the other sports, all right,
So the question Yukon legend Geno rm A saying that
the w NBA has been hijacked by politics. What do

(14:40):
you make of the wording the wording of Geno rim
So in the cartoon bubble on my head side. It's
on the right side of my head if you're curious. So,
Geno rm he's got a boombox at old school, like
nineteen eighties boombox, and he's listening to Tiny tim trying

(15:05):
to tiptoe through the tulips without getting himself canceled by
talking about this, right, So come on, Gino, Clearly this
guy is a closeted member of the Malad militia, as
he's just regurgitating our take that the WNBA has become
less a basketball league and more a battlefield. It's a

(15:28):
battlefield in the culture war. It's been that way, right,
That's how this has been for a while for a
while now. And his money quote, nobody's coming to watch
another protest movement, they're coming to watch basketball any spot
on And there was a great lesson. We had some

(15:50):
really crazy times in this country a few years ago
in twenty twenty, with the pandemic and everything that was
going on. It was just insane. People were burning cities down,
political leaders were cheering it on. It was absolute insanity,
anarchy that was taking place right and the NFL they
dabbled in it, NBA dabbled, ANBA really went into it.

(16:12):
They went woke, mic woke woke in the NBA, and
then something funny happened. They realized it was really hurting
the product. They were hardpooting their own product to the NBA,
because even though there's a lot of noise on social media,
it's being rigged by bots, and real hard working men
and women in America don't want that shove down their
throat when they're watching a ballgame. The NFL learned it

(16:35):
with Colin Kaepernick. They were reminded of it in twenty twenty.
Apparently the WNBA didn't pay any attention any attention to
that because they're all in, baby, they're all in. And
in recent weeks we've had, among others, you got the
Sophie cutting Ham comments about, you know, transgender men competing

(16:55):
against authentic born women, and then people bashing Sophie cutting
Then there's this other woman I've never heard of, Dijoni
or something, Carrington. I even know what it is who
I guess suggested that Cunningham benefited from like white privilege
on the court. I read that several of you idiots
have been sending me that story, wanted me to come in.

(17:16):
So listen, you can summon up like this when you
talk about the WNBA. This is what absolute horrid leadership
looks like. This is horrible leadership. The league finally got
a little taste. They finally got some eyeballs thanks to
Caitlin Clark. Games when she played were pulling in really

(17:39):
monster ratings. It was amazing. Now people weren't watching these
other games. They just watched when she would play. Meanwhile,
Commissioner what's her name, Kathy Engelbert, I believe that's her name,
appears to be watching the kitchen burn burn, burn burn,
while debating whether or not the the smoke detector in

(18:01):
the kitchen is being too judgmental about the fire. I
don't understand smoke detector. You shouldn't make an opinion. Let
the fire burn burn, burn, burn, Burdbert, why are you
making noise. You shouldn't make a judgment that that's a fire.
Maybe it's not a fire, Maybe it's just a spark.
Maybe it's just that's it. That's all it is. We

(18:21):
have a team named the Sports Maybe that's it. No,
it's unbelievable, It's absolutely ridiculous. Seriously, what are you doing?
Like I'm convinced like the people at Harvard of all
people are already designing a course around the leadership of
Kathy Ingelbert. How many blue ribbon panels are you gonna

(18:42):
have to put together? This is a semester long case
study waiting to happen. WNBA malfeas its one oh one
coming to a college campus near you. How do you
get the attention your heart desired, you always wanted, and
somehow make people talk about everything except your actual product?

(19:03):
There you go the WNBA whoo all right, it is

but two fans beat the goat Joey Chestnut in a

(19:48):
blank eating contest. This is like beating Jordan in one
on one or taking down Tom Brady in a football game.
Two fans beat the legend Joey Chestnut in a blank
eating contest. That is the Malord Riddle of the day.
The answer, We'll get to it and we will do
it next.

Reina is here. He's just over there trying to recover
from the treat she ate earlier. And you can say

(22:02):
hello to her. At FSR Tech queen, it was so good.
Are you actually gonna buy some or not?

Speaker 5 (22:09):
No, I don't have a Costco membership.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
No, you're gonna well, I know you're gonna have somebody,
like somebody's gonna do it for you. Maybe you're gonna
have it. You have an insider inside guy. You gotta
have a guy to figure that out, to get with
the Costco cards. Very port at cooopas here, he has
a Costco card And you can say Helloa to Cooper
loop there and how do you do that? Well, you
say hello to him at a Bronco fan that's uh,

(22:33):
Bronco fan. And on all of those accounts, your comments
can and will be used against you in the court
of sports.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
Uh well listen, big good news here Supermarket Steve very
proud of him. He's sitting down, he's having a nice
warm donut and it looks that's my favorite donut. Super Market.
He sent a photo of the donut. That's a beautiful
looking donut right there. That is the way to go.
So good job by you. And I'd like to have
a similar donut later. Maybe I'll have one later today,

(23:06):
a similar donut. Yeah, exactly, I know it's pretty wild,
all right. Anyway, Let's see here, let's pay off the
mallor riddle of the days. So two fans beat in
quotes Joey Chestnut in a blank eating contest. We'll keep
it simple and get right to the question the answers.

(23:28):
Rather a shoe eating contest from fer Dog Alf the
alien on Pinter said, a kilbasa eating competition. Who else
do we have? Let's see page down Nashville hot chicken
contest from Nashville Phil, A little biased Rocky Mountain oyster
contest from milkman Michael I would have won that courtesy

(23:48):
flusher going with Vasileene. Well, I know somebody like wait,
Coop looked a lot younger when he did that. But yeah, wow,
all right, Late Night drug tester says a Kennedy fried
chicken or eating test. Yeah, Marcel and Brooklyn, flaming hot
cheetos from Seawan and Portland cream puff eating contest from JT.

(24:09):
The Wingman, A flesh eating bacteria, a hot dog contest
from Stevie Meatballs, our pal there in the Sunshine State.
What else? Andy in Line o' lake said they beat
him in a hissing cockroach eating contest. Eke in Roseville, Minnesota,
going with gefilter fish disgusting analog Al says chocolate covered

(24:32):
Tarantula's our friend, Rebecca the ram fan. Y, that's right,
that's the Rebecca the rim although it's just says Rebecca
the Gabba ghoul eating contest. Kathy and Madison says Benny's
homemade cooking cookie eating contest, Bill going with De's nuts
as the answer, and who's your Bill? A different Bill

(24:54):
said Ben, I want you to know I can make
fart noises with my armpit. Well, congratulations, congratulations on that
donkey sausage, said rotten fish as his answer. All right, Lorraine, No,
he answered to the riddle again, if you're late to
the party. Two fans in quotes beat Joey Chestnut in
a blank eating contest. I'm gonna go with an ice

(25:16):
cube eating contest. Ice is it? Ice cube eating contest?
Is that? Yeah? No, that is incorrect. Joey Chestnut forty two.
Technically he lost in a technicality. He lost an eating
contest for tater tots. Tater Tots, although there's some funny
business going on. I'm gonna offend my friend Joey Chestnut.

(25:38):
The Joey Chestnut competed alone against four separate two person teams,
so he put himself at a numerical disadvantage. And the
winning duo defeated Chestnut by less than one tenth of
one ounce. So it took two people who barely edged

(26:01):
the superhuman strength of Joey Chestnut. It would be like
it would be like playing Jordan one on one and
needing a friend to help you beat Jordan one on one.
He doesn't really count, right, Yeah, come on now, So
the people that won, they received a championship belt and
bragging rights. But come on, Joey Chestnut, that's the way,

(26:24):
that's the way to go. This was in Wisconsin earlier
this week. Chestnut, who has now won eighteen mustard belts,
Holy f eighteen mustard belts. He owns the record of
seventy six hot dogs and buns in ten minutes, seventy six,
and he also has if I think the number is

(26:46):
fifty eight records in that sport. We have a modern
day Bambino on our hands, and he's not appreciated enough.
He's not. That's a bad job by you people. You
should appreciate Joey Chestnut. You should all right, come on now,
right is the Ben Mallard Show. Let's go to the
phones and we'll say hello, eeny meeni, miney moo. Let's hello.

(27:08):
We have lame jokes coming up. Doug is deep in
the heart of the OC. What's going on, Doug, Welcome
in Orange County? What's going on? Tustin? Hello, Doug, Ben?

Speaker 2 (27:17):
What's going on? My man? What's this? First time?

Speaker 4 (27:20):
Call her? U?

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Fairly new listener? But I love you, man. You open
up with tools sometimes you open up with Jimmy Buffett.
You are the man.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
Well as you know, I love music. Yes, go ahead, Well.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
I would just have to say that dis could could
maybe take a take a page out of a Joey
chest snatter or two, because that guy has just fallen
all over to play for us and the Dodgers. Man,
I cannot stand it.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
And now do we Let me ask you this, Doug, Doug, Doug,
do we do we? At what point do we start
calling out the Dodger front office? Because the two big
additions they added this year are Tucker and Diaz, who
together together are suck and blow. Oh my god, they
both horrible. These are two big additions.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
Man, I love you.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
I love you because those are the two guys that
I would call out, and I would say, Scooball, I mean,
we paid a lot of money and he hasn't really
showed much either, So I don't really know everyone's complaining
about this, but like we pay, We paid people for
what they did and not what they're gonna do. And
I don't really know what to say.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Yeah, and you look at a ragtag team like the Brewers,
who don't spend that kind of money and they have
good teams every year. And there's what happened in the
game on Thursday night. I mean, they just nicked. They
just nicked Edwin diz Uh. You know, there weren't a
lot of you know, power hits or whatever they were
just it was, it was, it was increasing insane and

(28:44):
like I'm just it bothers me. The the Hubris, like
Dave Roberts, I'm I'm I'm sure you saw the same
I'm watching on TV. I'm like, DZ doesn't have it.
Take him out of the game. Nah, we'll leave him in.
We'll leave him in, He'll figure it out. Crazy.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Hey, Ben, I love you, man, Thank you, thank you
for everything you do.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
Call me, call me more often, Buddy, call me more often.
All right, thank you. Look at that that's a fan
right there. I believe that there should be some kind
of criminal charges here if this continues. Grand larceny, all right,
you know, grand larceny for a player who is a fraud.
Uh yeah, I think that's grand larceny. Right, you're a fraud?

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Yeah you think so?

Speaker 1 (29:25):
All right, let's keep it going and we say all
over to Mike the left pracaon, who is on? Hello,
Mike the lept precaon, Welcome, good.

Speaker 5 (29:34):
Morning, Thank you for taking Mike call early. How are
you well?

Speaker 1 (29:38):
You requested, you said you wanted to be on. You
did not want to battle with your mortal enemy marcell
and Brooks. So I made your dreams come true.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
Okay, well, thank you. Anyway, it was a good week
for Benit, Cherry and Glubleeve. I'm glad to take go
into the Hall of Fame. And to be honest, did
you hear about the Chilean Brown event in Boston? You
know he's de putting on a city party to kind
of wish him good goodbye and thank you. So he's

(30:07):
he's a proloctopas did you know that I mean, he's
very generous.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
Well I did know. I didn't know that he's done
a lot for about charity stuff around Boston. I'm sure
do it in Philadelphia.

Speaker 5 (30:16):
Yeah, yeah, for these well, let's taps one again. They
back on the new winning streak. So what they're doing
now is they're all taken off their shirts, all the men. Right,
that's the least kind of quiz at the stadiums. It
was happening at the World Cup. It was happening in
the baseball games. Do you think the women it started?

Speaker 1 (30:36):
Yes, well only the good looking ones, but yes, I
absolutely yes. Why not everyone take their shirt off except me?
I'm not taking my shirt off, but everyone else? Why not?

Speaker 5 (30:45):
Well, okay, another funny statistic came up this week. Hollywood.
The Hollywood sign Hooray for Hollywood was made in nineteen
twenty three, and back then it was in Hollywood, it
was Hollywood Lands.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
So I am aware. I've been to the Hollywood Sign.
I know the whole story. That is true. It was
remote houses.

Speaker 5 (31:07):
Many of your listeners, not many of your listeners probably
are aware of that.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
But well, I don't know if they were thinking about
that at this time of the morning on a sports
radio show. But I'm glad that you enlightened us here.
And I said years ago that the there should be
a team in LA that drops the La moniker and
