and we head back the pro bouncy Ball, not the
NBA Finals where san Antonio gets into the win column.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
There will not be a sweep. There will not be
a sweep in the NBA Finals. We're not talking about
that though. Where did Oklahoma City GM Sam Presty's rant
about social media and in how it was affecting SGA?
How did that land with you? And he was defending SGA.
We'll talk about that. Also, did Lebron James avoid the

(00:35):
Knicks because the lights are too bright? One of the
celebrities saying that's why Lebron didn't come to the next
And how should Wenby feel about getting the profane rhythmic
chanting treatment from the Knicks fans as they were giving
it to them. We'll talk about all that and more
right now. Settle in. It's our number three. Blame it

(01:03):
on the app. It's all about the app. That's the problem.
Welcome in the beginning of another hour of the Ben
Malor Show.

Speaker 2 (01:15):

(02:54):
here we go. So we begin this hour with pro
Bouncy Buy. Now we will get in a moment. We
will work our way back to the NBA Finals. There's
something we did not address earlier.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
We'll get to.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
However, we begin with this our lead from Oklahoma City.
Now the thunder from down Under. They're like, well, wait
a minute, we're gonna be right there. We're gonna be
the mix of this. And they thought they would be
in the NBA Finals. Obviously they weren't, and we san
Antonio was the GM though Sam Presty at the end
of season exit, we sucked.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
We didn't win.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
News conference thing, Sam Presty strongly defended Shaye Jjogis Alexander,
and he defended him against what was described as online
criticism and also old school media criticism, but mostly online,
the narrative that he is a foul merchant draws fouls

(03:52):
and so this was the theme of the end of
season news conference. Now, I don't know if you heard
it or not, perhaps not. Presty said, quote, SGA is
playing against six people. He's got five defenders, and the
sixth defender is social media. So that is a good
jumping off point. Let us discuss the question where did

(04:16):
the Thunder General manager Sam Presty's rant about social media
in his defense of SGA and saying, well, they're attacking SGA,
they're defending him. It's six defenders against SGA because of
social media.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Where did all this land with you?

Speaker 3 (04:34):
So I've got King Cobra, common denominator and baptized and
we will combine all of these things together and we
are going to have a wonderful time with the checkered flag.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
We're gonna go with the checkered flag.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
So first of all, this landed like a giant yawn
and a stretch anything.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
You wake up your yawn.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
And then you stretch your arms out. You're like, all right,
I'm starting the day. Make sure my arms move. I'm
doing that. There we go, all right. So the Thunder
general manager, what he is doing here is he's got
a deck and he's playing the victim cards from the
bottom of the deck. The bottom of the deck a shister.
He's acting like Shay is suffering in the dust bowl.

(05:25):
The media is out to get him. Social media is
out to get him like he's battling the tabloids back
in the old days in New York. And unfortunately he's
in TV market SGA is in TV market number forty five.
Not exactly the Big Apple. Not exactly the Big Apple. Now,
Oklahoma City is not the center of the basketball universe.

(05:49):
Even when they won the championship, they were not. The
noise in comparison is a gentle breeze. That's what is
a gentle breeze. Now that the idea, the concept that
somehow the victim, because everyone loves playing a victim, right,
Everyone wants to claim that.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
You were mean to me, I'm a victim. That's how
they do. That's how they sound too.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
They have this very weird voices, a cartoonish voice, and
I was not raised that way. And you have to
get some criticism, that's part of the deal. And I
find it adorable. And we're supposed to feel bad for Strea.
I'm sure he's being held back winning multiple MVP awards.
He's fighting for his life. Unless he's not fighting for

(06:32):
his life. And this great oppression is x Twitter. That's
the oppression there. I think we all kind of understand
as humans. If you come across a king cobra or
a black mamba. You don't stop and try to pet it.
If it's a problem, you don't stop and try to

(06:53):
pet it.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
You don't. So the message is the same message we
always have. If you can't handle the noise, you just
log off, you delete the apps, and boom goes to dynamite.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
The problem is solved. A revolutionary concept. Nobody else is
smart enough to come up with this concept. People are mean, okay,
then just don't look. Who cares? It's you don't have
to partake. It is possible to not partake. There's a
whole big world. I did enjoy during the NBA Finals.
I don't know if you saw the commercial. They had a

(07:27):
commercial encouraging people to go outside and live their lives,
and you know, this whole thing about how people used
to live without social media.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
And then it was for Pinterest, which I believe is
a social Is that not a social media platform? All right?

Speaker 3 (07:43):
I thought, I thought, well, that's a great I didn't
know what I didn't know what it was for. I
was like, well, that's a really good commercial. And then
I saw at the end of it, like, oh, holy crap,
they just want you to get off X and Instagram
and TikTok.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
And go to go to Pinterest is what they want.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
I was like, okay, by some spots here, I think
our audience the boys love Pinterest, right, No they don't.
Not a big crossover. That's more for the ladies. Okay,
I got you. Anyway, listen. So Sam Presty, you know,
he's spinning stats like it's a draidal. He came up
with his stats saying that Shay Drew I think he

(08:19):
said four hundred and fifteen fouls and only four were overturned.
And so he said, well, I see the calls were
right and only four were overturned and all that. Unfortunately,
the problem that Sam Presty has is social media has
their own receipts and they show a lot of clips
online of him being a foul baiter. I'm sure I

(08:41):
said that, probably a foul baiter, and that is an
accurate observation.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
That is an art form that is shamed on. It
is you look down upon when you do that. It's
not harassment, though there's no harassment here Presty. You're supposed
to stand by your man, defend your superstar, and he's
trying to build a moat with crocodiles around around his player.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
All right.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Now, Secondly, we go to New York where Tracy Morgan
is feeding the content machine. Yep, that guy, Tracy Moore.
He's still around a big Knicks fan. He didn't barfit
the garden, right, there was no over. I remember during
the season he puked. Remember that, yeah, big Knicks fan there.
He was out hanging out, the hanging out with all
the one percenters. Now, he recently said that Lebron James

(09:32):
could not handle playing in New York because the lights
are too bright and quote we too rowdy, meaning the
Knicks fans. So I don't know if you saw it now,
a diehard Nick apologist, Tracy Morgan made the comments. He
made the comments while hyping up the atmosphere at Madison

(09:54):
Square guard. He says, New York, that's why Lebron can't
play here. He said, because the the light's too bright,
we too rowdy. Okay, question, do you think Lebron James
avoided the Knicks because the quote Tracy Morgan, the lights
are too bright?

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Act to Mecca.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
So listen, this is I know he's just joking around,
and I'm shaking my head. No, no, Tracy Morgan, believe
it or not, has me? I guess defending Lebron is
that what I'm doing. I'm defending Lebron James. I don't
want to defend Lebron Jibs. Why am I defending Lebron Jim?
It's proper like? How dare you? Tracy Morgan? That take

(10:36):
was so bad?

Speaker 5 (10:37):
How bad?

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Was it?

Speaker 6 (10:39):
So?

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Going?

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Right to take jail? Right to hot take jail? And
if you want to know what jail's like, ask for adult.
He's been there. He's been there. So it's not the
Knick supporters, obviously, And I would argue Laker fans and
Nick fans are equally annoying in a different way. The

(11:00):
like her historians love to tell you about the glory
days and all that. Of course they have one since Kobe,
and then the Nick fans. They haven't won since cable television.
People were using rotary phones last time, the next one,
and yet they want you to know how great they
are and all that. Historically, Lebron has dominated at Madison
Square Garden. In fact, he has treated it like his

(11:23):
personal Airbnb when he's gone in there with these different
teams as a twenty three to nine record, So that's
a seven seventy one percent winning percentage. If the lights
were too bright, you most likely that I'm gonna go
you wouldn't have that record. I'm gonna go out and
limbs that you would not have that record. Now, the truth,
and we are in pursuit of the truth. The truth

(11:44):
is Lebron does not pick teams based on the normal criteria.
He picks amenities. Lebron's a big amenity guy. He likes
the bells and whistles. He's all about that. And he's
always chased the easy road with creature comforts, and sometimes

(12:05):
he goes a little more towards the creature comforts than
the easy road. He loves when you can get both.
That's the sweet spot. You want to get both, that
would be the way to do it. Every franchise he's joined,
if you look at the life and times of Lebron James,
every team that Lebron has joined has rolled out the
red carpet and vacuumed it twice for Lebron. Pat Riley

(12:26):
right in Miami, they brought in they already had Dwayne Wade,
they brought in Chris Bosh and all that, and they
looked out for Lebron, and then Riley got upset. And
when that stopped, and Riley became a bit of a
douche and didn't treat Lebron and kiss his ass all
the time, what did Lebron do? He skid daddled out
of Miami and ran back to Ohio so the Calves

(12:47):
could kiss his ass. And that would go on. And
he never chose New York not because of the Nick fans.
It was because of James Dolan that I believe. That's
why if twenty ten, way back in twenty ten, twenty eleven,
that period of time, the Knicks, they had an opportunity
that meetings with Lebron, and then at one point the

(13:10):
favorite was the Knicks for Lebron, and they did this
like weird Sopranos thing. The Sopranos were a popular show
back then. This thing on HBO's Mob Show. They did
a video that supposed he didn't go well. Then in
twenty eighteen, he had an opportunity to go to the Knicks,
and he chose the Knicks were terrible. He chose to
go to the Lakers because he wanted to hang out

(13:30):
with a bunch of Hollywood losers, and so that's what
he did. The common denominator though, and Lebron met with
the Knicks twice in twenty ten, twenty eleven, twenty eighteen.
The common denominator is James Dole. That's it, like he's
he's got that Lebron bugspray and refused to give Lebron

(13:51):
all the trimming. So Lebron said, I'm good, I'm out
of here. I never been the mecca of management. It's yeah,
So there you go, all right, it is the Bedmas Show.

Speaker 7 (14:04):
Now.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
The final thought was speaking of New York, the very
rowdy fans at MSG for the finals game, as you
might imagine, even though they are the one percenters, the
cheapest ticket to get I guess the upper row in
the very back at Massive Square Garden you get a
ticket for five thousand for five thousand. So anyway, the

(14:27):
game last night there was rhythmic chanting. Now, we would
like to play the rhythmic chant on the air. Unfortunately
we are told we cannot play it due to guidelines
from the federal government. The chant was f you Wemby,
F you Webby, F you Webb.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
They didn't say, just f I don't know. They said fun.
I think it was fun, fun you Wemby.

Speaker 7 (14:55):
No.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
So that happened during Game three. It happened late in
the second quarter when Hello, Kenny, Karl Anthony Towns was
at the foul line. The profane chant was loud. How
loud was it? It was so loud that I heard
it on my TV. He was on the ABC broadc tests.
They tried to mute out some of the bad words.

(15:17):
I noticed on my feed. There were some moments the
audio went mute, which tells you there was some really
dirty words that were being said. They're dirty, dirty, dirty,
the dirty bird. So when asked after the game if
being vilified was a compliment or not, Wemby had a
zinger lined up in his back pocket. He said, quote,

(15:38):
I guess I'm nowhere near Trey Young level.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Though close. Quote little tip of the.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Cap to Trey Young, who for two years two games
was the villain at Madison Square Guarden that he had
to have a game winning basket at the end of
the game where he played very well.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
And then there's another moment there.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Anyway, the point of all that, the question is how
should Wemby feel about getting that profane rhythmic chanting treatment
from the Nick fan Game.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Three, and not just your regular Nick fan.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
These are the elite Nick fans, the ones that either
have really wealthy friends or themselves are.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Really really wealthy.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
So if Nick fans are chanting bad words at you,
which is what happened in Game three of the finals,
it's rather obviously your congratulations. Come on down. You have
been baptized. You have been baptized Wemby, by the world's
angriest church. They have baptized you, and Victor Wamba Yama
should not be offended at all by the profane ranting

(16:39):
and raving, the rhythmic chanting raining down from the upper
upper levels of Madison Square Garden the rafters there.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
And it is an honor. I believe it truly is
an honor.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
I love MSG gave him the f bomb symphony. It's
like the New York pops just raining down. It's wonderful.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
It's like it's a Hall of Fame level moment.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
When you're doing that. And Wemby did not get rattled.
He got a little serenade. It's a very nice thing
to serenade him. You can feel the energy. Now, that
was not just a chant. That was essentially the standing
ovation in the New York dialect. There's the standing ovation there,
F you WEMBYF you Wemby. Now in that city, they

(17:28):
don't boo nobody's, they don't chant nobody's. There was mister October.
Reggie Jackson famously said back in his day, in his
salad days in New York, and there is this strange,
beautiful I don't if you don't call it poetry or not.
You've got a twenty two year old kid from France
who looks like he's big bird and instantly becomes the

(17:52):
villain of Manhattan because he's the biggest name obviously on
the Spurs.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
And that's it.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
So Wemby again, I dont think he's upset. It shouldn't
be upset, shouldn't be upset by this. In fact, I
would recommend when this is over, if the Spurs do
come back, and they should, they're the better team, he
should send the garden a thank you card. And it's like, Hey,
this is it. I thought I had arrived, but this
is the moment, this is the moment I arrived. Eight

and I claimed it was mostly mostly cheers there at
the guard.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Which will say he didn't take a nap either.

of the day. If you don't want to play Malleard's

I need two people for Mallar's amount of money. So

(22:04):
if you want to play, and let's try to get

two people to play every frickin' game. Can we get
some new people? Please my God? And that means you

comdemeanor from blank.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Again, let me I screwed that up.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
Knicks coach Mike Brown said that Mitchell Robinson gets his
calm demeanor from Blank. So that is the Mallard riddle
of the day. And let's see, does anyone know the answer?
He gets his comm from Aaron Rodgers. His com demeanor

Mitchell Robinson gets his calm demeanor from a combination of
Xanax and red wine. Interesting, all right, Lorena, do you

(25:12):
have an answer?

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Lorena? I was gonna go with puppy therapy.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
Puppy therapy, all right? Is that correct? Let's see you're
not right the correct answer. According to Mike Brown, I
said that his player Mitchell Robinson gets his calm demeanor
from country music. Country music, Yeah, I would say that

(25:36):
the percentage of NBA players that like country music is
less than five percent going to be my guests, gotta
be less than five percent. There are some less than
five percent. That's a very small group of people that
love the country music. Let's say hello to metaglass Kyle,
who is somewhere out in the desert somewhere. Hello metaglass Kyle.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
Many off.

Speaker 6 (26:00):
First off, First off, let me let me can I
can I say two things before I get into the
NBA topic. Number one is, hey, Scott, here's a black
man that called up that's not trying to hit on Lorena.
Number two, my question for all three of y'all, are
you a AC and the winter time person or a

(26:23):
blanket and the summertime person.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
I'm AC year round. I like to be cold. I
want to be frozen when I sleep, and so I
like to be cool.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
I don't want to.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
Be hot, so I AC all the time, all the time, Lorena.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
I hate being frozen. I'm a blanket even if it's
hot kind of girl.

Speaker 7 (26:45):
And if it's air conditioned inside, I will even have
a jacket on, Like, do not mess.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Up, all right, coop a acyar blanket?

Speaker 7 (26:55):
I like, I mean, I'm I'm cheap, so I don't
really put on the AC very much, but I would
if if if money was no object, I would have.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
It set to like sixty five. Well, I'm cheap. Also,
what I got is a room air conditioner.

Speaker 4 (27:08):
Yeah, okay, I'm on one of those about one of
those as scene on TV, those arctic Arctic coolers where
you just put the ice in the road. Trade is
actually fan worse than ac.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
No, it didn't that work, Yeah it doesn't. It didn't
look like yeah if it that.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Was the worst buy. Billy May sold me on that
years ago.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
Billy.

Speaker 8 (27:31):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
Yeah, But anyways though, and then look, hey, part one
of our dreams come true. It might actually come true.
Then then what we said they didn't need the game
three uh heroics from the Knicks, so we can go
ahead and pull off this four game in a row
win streak. You know that they're gonna do uh presumptively,

(27:53):
We're gonna say presumptly. But no, all around, it was
a classic game. Just didn't did not agree with what
Mike Brown did. He had one of those system overload
type of deals where he was looking on the flout
Longe scratching his head like you I actually got to
start a coach. I think Rick Brunson coaches that team. Honestly,
I don't think Mike Brown. I think Mike Brown is

(28:13):
just to face. You see more of Rick Brunson than
you do with Mike Brown on the sideline or going
to the well.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
But yeah, Rick Brunston does run out a lot and
anything evolving his son, his son, obviously he's running over there.
How about the people that bought tickets out of Game
four thinking the Knicks we're gonna win and then win
the championship. Did you see this the tickets as of
like during the game, they were going for like twelve
thousand dollars the minimum get in for Game four, And

(28:40):
now that the Knicks lost on Monday, you can get
in for a reasonable four thousand dollars.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
Yeah, and speak and what you said though, with the
charity buying those two million dollar seats that nobody sat in,
You're gonna let Chaul Oakland sit in wine those seats
for crime?

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Well, no, he'd be arrested if he entered the arena,
he'd be arrested.

Speaker 8 (29:00):
Do it.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
Listen, listen, listen. We got guys out here that are
actually doing real dumb stuff, right, like real dumb stuff.
This man literally was one of your better guys during
the time. Get a man the opportunity.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
Listen, I understand he is suing the massive square.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
Trump was sitting next to Dolan, and it wasn't Oakley
and Trump and Ewing and all those guys buddies back
in the eighties.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
So Trump, negotiate a peace deal.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
You the president, get a peace deal for Charles Oakley
back at the guard exactly.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
He now, before before I let you go, you know,
Trump was going to turn that into it. They weren't
boring me. They were mooing me. Trump.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Well, he did say that, he said, he said it
was mostly uh cheers or what.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
I don't know who cares. I thank you, Kyle Medaglass.
