Speaker 1 (00:00):
Bippity-boppity-boo. It's hour number three. Hour three. And we continue
the Ben Maller Show podcast here in hour three as
we solve all of the world's problems one hot take
at a time. And we keep it plain and simple.
So question of the hour here in hour three. Do

(00:20):
you believe Drew Rosenhaus, the super agent... that there is
a ton of interest in wide receiver Tyreek Hill, but
he's going to wait until October playing it safe. Also,
are we really that close to the first $ 100 million
a year NFL player? Some say that's the case. And
Deshaun Watson says he is going to showcase he can

(00:41):
still play for the Browns. How does that sound to you?
We'll go there and a whole lot more right now.
Settle in. It's a boat race. It's hour number three.
And also ask Ben this hour. It's a bird. It's
a plane.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
What?

Speaker 1 (01:00):
No, no, no, no. Hold on a second here. That's right.
It's a cheetah. It's a cheetah. Look at that. It's
a cheetah right over there. Welcome in the beginning of
another hour of the Ben Maller Show. We are in
the air everywhere, popping fresh as we are tirelessly reliable.

(01:26):
Coast to coast, border to border, and beyond, on the vast,
and jazzily powerful. Microphones of FSR emanating live.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Do it live!

Speaker 1 (01:40):

we need a little bit of bull. I said, okay,

what about the Grumpy Garbage Man and that guy Michael

it's not Thursday. It's from the NFL in general. But
there was a game last time. We're going to start
with that here. We're not going to start that again

(02:45):
this hour. But we tell you the Patriots were leading
most of the game. Low scoring game in the end, though.
They slipped on the banana peel there. Drake May did.
Not one, not two, three interceptions. As Seattle, not very impressive.
Didn't play like a well-coached team there. They're back up
in third down. Two of 11 for Seattle in the game.
And they had 10 penalties for 98 yards. 10 penalties

(03:09):
for 98 yards. The only touchdown that the Patriots scored
was an underthrown ball by Drake May. And that led
to a key pass interference call. in that game so
new england off to the oh and one start they
actually have to play a real schedule this year which
seems to be problematic at least so far so our

(03:29):
lead this hour though is not from that game it's
from the grasslands where free agent wide receiver looking for
the greener grass tyreek hill his comeback has been delayed
yeah oh you're so bummed out i know what a
downer Yeah, doctors recommending that he wait until October, possibly

(03:51):
later than that, to resume his NFL career. So if
you didn't see this or hear about it, maybe not.
Agent Drew Rosenhaus, the legendary NFL agent, says that Tyreek
Hill is progressing well, but they're playing it on the
safe side. That's the. The money quote, or one of

(04:13):
the money quotes. Now, Hill is recovering from what has
been described by many who cover medicine. There are people
that cover medicine. A catastrophic left knee injury. His left
knee was left looking like pulled pork. He had a dislocation,
multiple torn ligaments. Snap, crackle, pop, including the ACL that

(04:34):
went to hell. Now, Rosenhaus, the super agent claiming that
there is, quote, a ton of interest, close quote, from
NFL teams, but says Hill will not sign anywhere until
he's 100% healthy and ready to contribute. So that is
a good jumping-off point. Let us discuss. Let us discuss.

(04:59):
So here we go. The question, do you believe, Drew Rosenhaus,
that there is a, quote, ton of interest in And
wide receiver Tyreek Hill, but he's playing it safe until
he's 100%. That's what he says. So I've got Banana Boat,
Mall of America, and Sixth Street Bridge. And we'll combine

(05:26):
all of these things together, and we're going to make
a gas guzzler. This is going to be a gas
guzzler game. And we're not playing tiddlywinks here. We're not.
All right. So to kick off the festivities, do we
believe Drew Rosenhaus that there is a ton of interest
in wide receiver Tyreek Hill? And he's just waiting to
be 100 percent. Yeah, I believe more in the tooth

(05:49):
fairy running for president in the next presidential cycle. I
believe that our next president will be the tooth fairy.
and the vice president will be the Easter Bunny. That's
what I believe. When I hear a ton of interest,
it is one of the great phrases in the sporting world.
In the industrial complex of sport, a ton of interest
is right alongside productive conversations, multiple teams calling, or my

(06:13):
personal favorite, mystery team. I love a mystery team. Oh,
my God. It is so good. It is so, so good.
But let's keep it real here. So Tyreek Hill was
once appointment television back in his salad days as the
cheetah in Kansas City. Now he is appointment with an

(06:37):
orthopedic surgeon. Television is what he is. That's about it.
And if you're truly waiting for him to be 100 percent,
he'll never play again in the NFL. The cheetah has
gone from the fastest man in football to an NFL
restoration project at this particular point. And enter Drew Rosenhaus,
a card shark of an NFL poker guy. He's like

(06:59):
a Bellagio poker table playing cards there. He's telling everyone
he's holding all these aces and all that. And you're like, yeah, right,
you're not holding any aces. Rosenhaus is the kind of
guy who could sell banana boat sunscreen to You know,
in Alaska, you know that town in Alaska where they
go like 60 days without getting sunlight? Yeah, he'd go

(07:20):
there at the start of that 60 days where they're
just in darkness, like just the furthest northern town in Alaska.
He'd be out there with a stand selling banana boat
sunscreen and he'd sell out of it. And so why
would you buy that? There's two months with no sun.
Why would you bother doing that? Rosenhouse is the kind
of guy if if he could go back in time.

(07:42):
and represent the Titanic just after it hit the iceberg,
he would sell people that, yeah, it's a swimming pool
and it got upgraded. The swimming pool on the Titanic
is really large now. And you can dive and go
all the way to the bottom of the Atlantic. That's
how big the swimming pool is. It's great. Yeah, you

(08:04):
might get attacked by a whale, but it's really cool.
So Tyreek is damaged goods, capital D, damaged goods. He's
got the designer label still attached. And Drew's job is
to sell the sizzle, sizzle, when nobody knows whether Tyreek
Hill can still provide the steak. So it's a story

(08:25):
we'll have all season, really, because I don't think he's
going to sign in October. And then it's like, was
he going to wait and try to figure out which
team is... going to need a wide receiver. Somebody's going
to get hurt. Well, we already saw it one game in,
and A.J. Brown's already dinged up for the Patriots. I'm
sure some bleeding-heart blogger is already posting, Tyree Kill to

(08:45):
save the Patriots season if A.J. Brown's out for a
long time. All right, now, furthermore, to the money, money, money, money, money, money, money,
the money machine, whispers in hushed tones that we are
headed at a rapid rate to a ginormous leap in

(09:06):
the quarterback money market. NFL quarterbacks are going to begin
asking for $ 100 million per season as soon as next
NFL season, 2027, is the next cycle. Why?

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Why?

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Well.
The rapidly rising salary cap. TV money keeps coming in.
Players get a percentage of the TV money. League revenues,
those go up, up, and away. And so they have

(09:45):
a lot more money every year to spend and a
higher amount of money because the percentages are the same,
but the total money goes up. This is not economics 101,
just play along. The quarterback market has already reached the
$ 60 million salary per year. Baker Mayfield, mid-level, jag of

(10:11):
a quarterback, just a guy. Baker Mayfield gets an extension
averaging $ 55 million a year there with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
So elite quarterbacks historically command about 20% of the salary cap.
So that's the sweet spot, 20% of the salary cap.
And knowing what we know about NFL revenues, thanks to

(10:32):
the Green Bay Packers being a publicly owned team, and
given the ammunition that the agents will use here to
justify the These massive contracts, $ 100 million annually, they say
may arrive in 2027. All right, question. Are we really

(10:52):
that close to having the first $ 100 million a year
NFL player? So I am going to nod my head yes.
We were at a big fork in the road. six
years ago during the pandemic, and that was the point.

(11:13):
If this was going to go back to salaries going
down a little bit and things becoming more calm in
terms of revenue, it would have happened when there were
no fans in the NFL stadiums during the pandemic season.
That didn't happen. They survived that, and so here we are,
TVs dying, and the only thing people watch live on

(11:36):
TV is... NFL football. They're the last of the Mohegans.
That's it. So you've got death. You've got taxes and
NFL contracts going completely bonkers. The three guarantees in American life.
And the quarterback salary structure has gone kerfluey, kabluey, and

(11:56):
straight through the drywall like the Kool-Aid man. Oh, yeah.
$ 100 million a year. Wrap your head around that for
17 regular season games. And the thing that's hilarious to
me about this $ 100 million deal, people get very worked
up about round numbers and $ 100 million is a big
milestone to cross over. And I remember when I was

(12:19):
a kid, there used to be these things called magazines.
And it was like people used to read magazines. What
a bunch of boomers. And I remember there was a story.
There used to be this thing called Sports Illustrated before
they whored themselves out to do like gambling and anything.
Now they're complete whores over there at Sports Illustrated. But
it used to be respected. People used to look up
to Sports Illustrated, the swimsuit magazine. But there was an issue.

(12:41):
I think it was like Kirby Puckett became the first
$ 3 million man in baseball or something like that of
the twins. I think it was Kirby Puckett. And people
lost their mind. And I know that was a long
time ago, but here we are, and we're not that
far away from $ 100 million. Now, the part of the
story that I love, right after we get to $ 100 million,
about six months later, somebody will complain that he's underpaid

(13:03):
while making $ 100 million. The basic Maler math, addition, multiplication,
and absolutely no subtraction. That's NFL Maler math. Addition, multiplication,
absolutely no subtraction. So the salary cap isn't a ceiling anymore.
It's kind of like an escalator at the Mall of America.

(13:25):
Everybody is riding up. It only goes up. It does
not go down. And NFL owners cry poverty. with $ 100
bills falling out of their pockets. And I continue to
maintain the NFL has moved on from monopoly money. They
no longer just deal with monopoly money. The NFL has
graduated to El Chapo drug cartel money. They just have.

(13:46):
It's the way it is. And the quarterbacks, they get
the most of it. So yesterday's $ 50 million a year player,
People gasped about that. Tomorrow, $ 100 million gets called a
hometown discount before long. That's always great. Hometown discount.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Just like I love these stories about the Rams having
to travel to Australia and the 49ers and the hardship
while they sit on a luxury plane where everyone's got
their own bed and they've got Wi-Fi and they've got
people monitoring their health. And I just laugh. I just laugh.
So the NFL will have achieved the impossible soon, making

(14:27):
a $ 60 million quarterback look like they're playing as a
working class person. It's like a working class wage in
the NFL if you're making $ 60 million, while charging the
actual working class $ 38 for a beer and $ 100 to

(14:48):
park three counties away from the stadium. I hope you
brought your walking shoes. All right, last thing, we go
to the land. What land would that be? That would
be Cleveland as the Browns continue to be hornswoggled by
Deshaun Watson, the Browns quarterback, Deshaun Watson, who is going
to start Sunday's season opener. That'll be his first regular

(15:12):
season game since way back in 2024 when his Achilles popped. Well,
he shredded it there. That was in 2024. So Cleveland
is giving Watson the keys to the factory of sadness
here to open up the season. But nothing beyond that
game is guaranteed. Now, Watson, he was asked about all this.

(15:35):
He views the upcoming NFL season as an addition. He's
auditioning for the job long term. He says, you know,
this is my gig. I want to prove people that
I can get it done. Prove to people entering year 10.
And the final year, I believe, of guaranteed money in
his contract there, he wants to prove that he can
still play. He said, quote, this is my opportunity to

(15:57):
get up there and go and showcase that I can
still play in this league. He's relishing the opportunity. So
the question, Deshaun Watson says that he is going to
showcase he can still play for the Brownies. How does
that sound to you? No. So only in professional sports,

(16:21):
only in professional sports does collecting a fortune while barely
playing set you up for some kind of Hollywood redemption story.
It's hilarious. It's absolutely hilarious. Now, Deshaun Watson has played
19 games in five years. Can you imagine if you

(16:42):
showed up to work 19 times in five years, would
you still have a job? Showing up for 19 games
in five years, that is not a career. It's more
like a timeshare is what it is. And Cleveland thought
they were buying this penthouse apartment on the Upper East Side,

(17:02):
but they ended up. With squatters' rights. And that's what
they have, squatters' rights. And so Watson, a lot of
people don't know about this, but on my drive into
the studio, I go through downtown Los Angeles, and there's
this bridge called the Sixth Street Bridge. And they spent
years and years and a lot of money fixing up
the Sixth Street Bridge. And when I drive by it,

(17:25):
I think it's the perfect metaphor for Deshaun Watson. Deshaun
Watson is like the Sixth Street Bridge in L.A. It
opened after a lot of money was invested, and it
was celebrated as this artistic landmark. Just beautiful. I remember
when they first turned on the lights. Man, was that
just a piece of civic pride and beauty. And then,

(17:49):
of course, over time, in this case, just a couple
of days, people came along, the natives, and stripped the
copper wiring on that bridge, turning out the lights, covered
it in graffiti. And the bottom is like a fentanyl hideout.
It's actually pretty funny. They're going to open a park
under the Sixth Street Bridge, and it's already covered in

(18:10):
graffiti and disgusting. Anyway, it's kind of like Deshaun Watson.
It's kind of like Deshaun Watson. The perfect metaphor. The
copper wiring has been stripped away. And it's just a
total mess. And so forget damaged goods. He's water-damaged merchandise
sitting behind the store while Cleveland's warranty expires. He's the
$ 230 million fixer-upper Deshaun Watson, where every time you open

(18:36):
a wall, you find another disaster. The money pit. The
money pit. And it's not a reclamation project. Now, the Browns,
what they would love... is Deshaun Watson to go down
and play really great football, really great football for like
three or four weeks, and get some dum-dum on TV

(19:00):
to say, hey, so-and-so should trade for Deshaun Watson. And
then you're like, okay, then the Browns can get something.
But it's not even a reclamation project. It's an extreme
makeover project. Quarterback edition, except Ty Pennington stopped answering the
text messages and is not returning Cleveland's calls at this
particular point. So it's a bit of a problem. It's

(19:22):
a bit of a problem. It is the Ben Maller Show.

877-99 on Fox, the call-in number, Lorena. How are we doing?

(22:29):
Everything okay? Getting better, Lorena? Have you calmed down?

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Yeah, I feel better.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Lorena was attacked.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
L.A.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
Is a very violent city. I blame Mayor Karen Bass.
She was attacked by a cockroach. If I become mayor
of L.A., I will kill all cockroaches. Vote for Ben.
Vote for Maller. That's what I say. It's very tragic.
A young woman driving by herself, and she was assaulted
by a cockroach. Can we call the LAPD on that, maybe?

Speaker 2 (22:57):
No?

Speaker 3 (22:58):
No, but a cop drove by three times while I
had my hazards on.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
Yeah. Didn't stop, though. No! Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, say hello
to Lorraine. FSR Tech Queen Koopa Loop at a Bronco fan.
That's a Bronco fan. Your comments can and will be
used against you in the court of the Mallard Militia.
So please, please act accordingly. Here is your Mallard Riddle

(23:28):
of the Day. Broncos wide receiver Cortland Sutton compared his
quarterback Bo Nix to a blank. That is the question.
What's the answer? And let's see what we have here.
King Roy says a pickle lover. A pickle lover from
King Rory. Donkey Sausage says a semi-pro poker player, former
child movie star is the answer. What else do we have?

(23:52):
Nikki Sixx from Late Night Drug Tester. Used to work
in our building, Nikki Sixx, back in the day. Not anymore.
It was funny watching him at the ATM machine, Nikki Sixx.
I enjoyed that. I thought that was pretty funny. Big
rock legend at the ATM machine. OG Art Puffin said,
Courtland compared Bo Nix to a wet dream. Feels great,

(24:15):
but not quite real. Yeah, not quite the real deal.
Stevie Meatball says he compared quarterback Bo Nix to a
super buff Stevie Nix. Good to hear from Stevie Meatballs,
the legend. Alf the Alien O'Piner said, a fashionista is

(24:36):
the answer. A Palo Verde beetle from Analog Al. Is
that the type of... Oh, you were talking about cockroach,
not a Palo Verde beetle.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
It's different.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
Not a burner, says Lucky Tony's new Lego toy. Oh,
that's pretty funny. That is pretty funny. What else do
we have?

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Let's see.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
Page down. A reptilian from Inca Terror. Not a gray.
I think our athletes, when we cross... The species of
the alien world and the greys and the reptilians and
all the others. There's four different, if you believe, the interweb.

(25:15):
And the interweb is never wrong. I always believe the interweb.
So there are four types of critters. The UFO world,
the four types, the greys, the reptilians, the Nordics, and
the insectoids. I'm going that the Reptilians will be the

(25:36):
great athletes. I don't think the Grays will be. Small bodies,
big heads. The Nordics could be pretty good in the NBA.
They're tall, and they kind of glow. I think they
might be all right there. And then the Insectoids... It's possible.

(25:57):
They've got that hive mind. All right, back to the answer, though.
Let's see. Who else do we have? Georgia Boy. Oh,
that was for Ask Ben. I better not use that.
That's for Ask Ben. What else do we have? Page Dan.
Lincoln Logs. That was guessed. Anybody play with Lincoln Logs anymore?
Fill her up, Phil. I'm going no. I'm going no

(26:21):
on that. Let's see here. I can't read that. The
Tattoo Baker said he called him blank, blank. All right.
One more time. Lorena, here we go. One more time.
Malarula Day. Broncos wide receiver Cortland Sutton compared quarterback Bo
Nix to blank. A sloth. A sloth. Is that correct?

(26:47):
Survey says. No, that is not correct. The correct answer,
Broncos wide receiver Cortland Sutton compared quarterback Bo Nix to
a mountain lion pacing in a zoo, saying you don't
want to let him out. Bo Nix, a mountain lion.

(27:08):
Let's go to the phones. 877-99-ON-FOX is the call-in number.
That's 877-996-6369. Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Pick a caller by
their name, and let's say hello to... Let's go to 2% Chance.

(27:31):
One of my favorite nicknames we've ever given out. 2% Chance. Hello, 2% Chance.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Hey, man. Appreciate you taking the call. I wanted to
talk a little. Drake May, people jumping the gun. I'm
not sure if you're aware of this. I'm a huge
Bills fan. So I always have believed Josh Allen has
owned that division. And a lot of people thought Drake
May is about to surpass him. I knew it was

(28:00):
just not realistic. In the past two games alone for
Drake May, he's thrown five picks, he's had a fumble,
and he's been sacked nine times. All these people that
jump the gun and put this guy in the top five,
it's ridiculous. He's got a lot of talent. If I'm
a Patriots fan, I'm excited about the future, you know

(28:20):
what I mean? But he is not... He's not that
dude yet. He's not in the category of Lamar, Mahomes,
or Josh.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Well, to be fair, 2% chance, the Patriots did make
the Super Bowl last year, and your boy, your guy,
has not done that. So there is that. Drake May,
or as we like to call him now, Drake May,
does deserve to be goofed on the way that he
played in the game on Wednesday night. He sucked at

(28:52):
a time you cannot suck, and that's on him. You're
supposed to be an MVP-level quarterback, and he did not
make the players around him better. And so that's a problem.
And by the way, I'm aware you're a Bills fan.
You know why I'm aware you're a Bills fan, 2% chance?

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Why is that?

Speaker 1 (29:13):
Because every time you call, you tell me you're a
Bills fan. That's why I know you're a Bills fan.
And I love you. I love you for that.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
The reason he made the Super Bowl last year is
because he had the third easiest schedule in the past
50 years, and he got to play a backup to
get to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Yeah, but you still have to win the games. They
still have to go out there and play the games
and all that. So there is a factor that in.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
Right.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
The Bills have had opportunities and they've had teams and
they've choked in the playoffs. And last year against the Broncos,
if I remember, if I remember correctly, I'll go back,
check my notes. I'm pretty sure that Josh Allen did
the thing you can't do at the time. You can't
do it.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
You're talking about the last play of the game? Why
don't you go back and watch that last play of
the game where he throws a dime in overtime, hits
the guy right in the chest, he falls to the ground, and.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
He gets ripped out of his hands. Now we're getting propaganda.
Thank you. Go away. That's propaganda. Bill's propaganda. I don't
need that. Let's see here. Let's go to... Boy, oh boy.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
What a board.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Mike the Leprechaun. Let's see. He's going to defend the Patriots. Hello,
Mike the Leprechaun. Welcome.

Speaker 5 (30:30):
I will not defend Drake May.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
That was terrible.

Speaker 5 (30:33):
Good.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Don't do it.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
I have two F-words for him. Fool and fart.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Two F-words. Okay.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
At least Lorena is liked by the cockroaches.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
That's good, huh?

Speaker 1 (30:48):
What's that?

Speaker 5 (30:49):
At least the cockroaches like Lorena.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
Yeah, I just don't understand why she was... It's very
hot here right now. There's a big heat dome or
whatever the hell they're calling it. There's a tropical storm
from Mexico off the coast here. It's El Nino.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
El Nino.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
Can you even buy a car without air conditioning? Seriously.
Do they even sell... In Ireland, you can. In Ireland.
We're not in Ireland. I'm talking about in America. Can
you actually buy a car with... You can't, right?

Speaker 2 (31:20):
Okay. I don't think you could, but I think you
could buy a six-seat.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Every car has an air conditioner. So just use the
air conditioner. That's my point.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Yesterday you said there would be a bombshell about Mike Brable.

Speaker 5 (31:34):
Did it ever drop?

Speaker 1 (31:36):
No. No. It turned out nothing dropped. I was waiting
when I woke up. I was like, all right, what's
the story about Brable? Nothing happened. So I guess we're
in the clear. If it was going to drop, it
would have dropped yesterday.

Speaker 5 (31:50):
Technically, the Pats lost.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
Yeah, it would have.

Speaker 5 (31:52):
It would have been out there yesterday before the game. Technically,
the Pats lost by three points. Does that mean they
covered the spread?

Speaker 1 (32:00):
They did not. They ended up pushing, which meant you
got your money back. And if you bet early, you
did win with the Patriots because it was three and
a half. It obviously went down to three before kickoff
on DraftKings, so that changed it. But, yeah, at one
point it was. You would have been in great shape,
but no.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
Star Trek.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Is that it?

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Oh, you want to talk to Poppy? Oh, here's Poppy.
Look at this. Your buddy Poppy's here. Hello, Poppy. The
dynamic duo.

Speaker 4 (32:26):
Hey, mentor.

Speaker 5 (32:27):
Actually, we did catch on that three and a half.
You know, when we set it last night and we
made the line go down. Hey, leprechaun.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
When you called up, Poppy, you gave an illegal line.
It was three. So you pushed. You didn't win that bet.

Speaker 5 (32:44):
Okay, we pushed. But you know what? Tomorrow's going to
be a good game. And me and the Leprechaun, we're
going to break down the 49ers, and they're going to
be playing about the Rams. You ready, Leprechaun? That's right now.
The game is tonight.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Yeah, the game's tonight, actually, Papi.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
It's tonight, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (32:59):
That's what I meant. Who do you like in Leprechaun?

Speaker 1 (33:02):
Oh, my God. Are we doing this again?

Speaker 5 (33:03):
Really? No, I'll let you go this time, Papi.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
You go.

Speaker 5 (33:08):
Oh, look, on this team, it's going to be a
good game.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Go ahead. You were defending me against Marcell.

Speaker 5 (33:12):
Thank you. I like Rams. Puka. Puka Nakua. Huh?

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (33:22):
Puka.

Speaker 5 (33:23):
Oh, Coop. Can you punch me, Coop?

Speaker 1 (33:25):
Coop, can you punch me right in the nose, right
between the eyes? Can you punch me as hard as
you can punch me? Please. Yes?

Speaker 3 (33:32):
I would, but you don't, you know, I don't have...
Arms long enough for that.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Oh, okay. I got you. Why can't these guys just say, oh,
here's who I like, boom, one line, why I like
the game. Why is that so hard? Instead, we get
this back and forth. Are they still there or are
they gone?

Speaker 3 (33:55):
They're technically there.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Poppy, I'm going to give you, I'm going to set
a timer here. Let me get my timer on my
little thing here.

Speaker 5 (34:02):
I'm ready, man.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
I'm going to give you, you got to tighten this up, Poppy.
I'm going to give you 20 seconds to give the
pick and why you like the pick. On your marks,
get set, and go.

Speaker 5 (34:17):
Look, the Rams, Matthew Schaffer, Puka Nakua, anytime touchdown, he's
going to score. He likes biting people. He's going to
bite the ball and score a touchdown. And then you've
got the Rams defense with Miles Garrett. They look phenomenal.
The 49ers, a lot of mistakes. The owner has a
lot of problems, as my mentor said. It's downhill.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
20 seconds. All right. You didn't even give the pick.
I told you in 20 seconds, give the pick. Poppy,
what you do is you say, I like the Rams,
and here's why. And then you tell the person listening
why you like the Rams. You don't make the pick
at the end. You start with the pick, and then
that's it. All right. Thank you, Bobby. Leprechaun. Anything Leprechaun

(35:01):
or no? Is that it?

Speaker 2 (35:02):
I said the Rams, even though they arrived 26 hours early,
before the game.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
That's all.

Speaker 5 (35:08):
All right.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
That's fine. They're not traveling by boat. They're going to
be okay. They're not Marco Polo. Thank you. All right.
There we go. We are going to have, for the
rest of the hour, Ask Ben. Your questions, our answers
for the rest of the hour. We'll get to all that,
and we will do it next.

Speaker 4 (35:32):
Be sure to catch live editions of the Ben Maller

Speaker 1 (36:46):
Time for.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
Hurry, hurry, I can hardly wait.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
Ask Ben. Twitter. Send us your questions on Twitter now.
And away we go. It's Ask Ben. Your questions, our answers.
For the rest of the hour, the reading of the questions.
It will not sound like he's reading. We head over
to the coop-a-loop. Justin Cooper.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
Alright, we are going to start off with a question from.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Hmm, who do.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
I like better here?

Speaker 1 (37:16):
I don't know. I'm dying to find out.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Alright, let's start with JT the Wingman.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
I had him on the mail, but he's good.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
Do you ever go to farmer's markets?

Speaker 1 (37:30):
I never went to, well, that's not true. I used
to live near the OG Farmer's Market in L.A., where,
was it the Grove is there now? But it's still there,
the Farmer's Market. I used to go to that. But
for the most part, that only really started when I
got married, so I do. But before that, not much.
What about you, Lorena?

Speaker 3 (37:51):
Not down here, but in my hometown, yeah, I go
to the Farmer's Market every Saturday. It's kind of like
the communal watering hole.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
The only store to shop at. What about you, Koopaloo?

Speaker 3 (38:02):
No, not really.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
No? I mean, like, I think there's... Support local business
and all.

Speaker 2 (38:09):
That?

Speaker 3 (38:09):
Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I've I've walked through
plenty of farmer's markets.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
Yeah. You don't want some guy trying to sell you
a $ 20 thing of honey? You're not interested in that?

Speaker 3 (38:21):
The honey is one thing, but I don't know. They've
got all this fruit, and it's on the floor. I
don't know.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
There's always the person with the kettle corn stand. What's next?
What do we got? It's Ask Ben and Friends for
the rest of the hour.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
Stevie Meatballs would like to know.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
Hi, Stevie Meatballs.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
What is your pillow situation when you sleep? How many?
Where do they go? Are any of them long body pillows?

Speaker 1 (38:47):
All right. First of all, you're very creepy asking about
a man's pillow. That's very creepy. I usually have two
to three pillows at any time. The main one, I'm
a side sleeper, so the main one is the small
one I can kind of wrap my arm around my head.
It's hard to find a good pillow for that. If
somebody has a recommendation, let me know. Because it's got
to be soft. I like a cooling pillow. I usually

(39:09):
have three, but one's the main one, the small one
that I put, wrap my arm around. What about you, Lorena?

Speaker 3 (39:15):
I have so many pillows, you can barely see my bed.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Okay. I got you.

Speaker 4 (39:20):
Coop?

Speaker 3 (39:21):
I used to be a two-pillow guy, but now I
just have the one nice memory foam pillow.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
You're downsizing. I'm shocked how expensive pillows are. I went
to buy a pillow a while back. They're really pricey.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
That's why I used to be two-pillow guy, because I
would get crappy $ 10 pillows, but now I got an
expensive one.

Speaker 1 (39:39):
You get a bougie one, man. Those things are expensive.
What's next? What do we got?

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Georgia Boy would like to know, better donut filling, jelly
or cream?

Speaker 1 (39:48):
Oh, that's tough. I'm actually going to go cream because
the fruit stuff's a little tit and miss. What about you, Lorena?

Speaker 3 (39:56):
I do love a good lemon filling, but the Bavarian
cream steals my heart.

Speaker 4 (40:02):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (40:03):
I think the jelly is where it's at.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
Now, it's inconsistent, the jelly. I feel like the cream
is more consistent. I'm Team Cream.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
Easier to.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
Well, that sounded... That did.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
Not sound good.

Speaker 1 (40:15):
We'll delete that in post. That did not.
