(00:30):
that they added even when the weather's fine, they're still

asked me to do it, and as you know, it's

Yes now, hal pal, our buddy, hal Pal, He said, Ben,
I'm really excited about the World Cup and two percent
chance agreed from Alabama and they said, can you let
the people know that home depot's also excited. I said
it was very odd that listeners like hal Pal and
Chance would want to know about home depot. As long
as you're okay with that, I said yeah. And then
Eileen in San Francisco was very excited, so was Kathy
(02:51):
and Madison. Upgrade your FIFO World Cup twenty twenty six setup.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Build it like Beckham. That's a great line.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Good build it like Beckham from living room to lawn
with the home depot and take the fast free delivery.
Assist the home Depot. Official FIFA World Cup twenty twenty
six supporter, subject to availability. And speaking of that World Cup,
don't miss Team USA USA first game of the group stage,
(03:21):
which I'm told is kind of important. That'll be later
today nine pm Eastern and that's six pm on the
West coast there in the Pacific time zone. On Fox,
it's USA versus Paraguay live from Sofi Stadium.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
In La La Land.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
And then blind Dan, of all people, I said, blind Dan,
I didn't know you could email your blind Dan from
Saint Louis and he reached out. And then Andrew, who's
also blind. All of our listeners are blind. Andrew in Bakersfield,
where the callers are blind. They both teamed up. They said, Ben,
some people don't know how they can find the game,
and I said.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
You know what they need. The excitement of the FIFA
World Cup is now streaming live.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
We'll do it live streaming live on Fox one, the
official English streaming platform, to catch every unforgettable moment. Fox
one brings the action straight to your streams, so you
never miss a goal. Download Fox one and experience the
FIFA World Cup live. I know that Rob in the
(04:27):
three to two one is like, yes, I need to
experience the FIFA World Cup live. It's a great way
to watch Team USA's first game of the group stage.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Again. Later today at nine pm.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Eastern six pm Pacific, it's USA versus Paraguay live from
so far in Los Angeles, actually in Englewood. Download Fox
won and experience the game live and we'll get back
to the commercials in a little bit.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Boy, I wish we had more right now, but apparently
we don't.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
And coming up later on we'll have Mallard to the
third degree.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
That'll be ex Yeah, time.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Shifted for ratings purposes, Mallor to the third degree, time shifted. Okay, Now,
we were going to attempt something that has never been
done before, Well, I shouldn't say that I did this
last World Cup, so it's I guess every four years
or so, I do this, and we're gonna see how
this goes. We're beta testing this. We're beta testing this.
So our lead this hour is from the aforementioned World Cup.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
That's right, lickety split. So this is not a test.
We'd like to learn all the affiliates. This is not
a test. We're actually doing this.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
So the story that I thought was the most interesting,
and maybe I'm the only one that believes this as
we begin the World Cup and actually began on Thursday.
So Mauricio Pocatino, I am told that is the head
coach of the US men's national team, and he has
(05:53):
thrown a haymaker at the FIFA mandated World Cup hydration
break rule that is now a thing at this event.
He argued that the stoppages are unnecessary when conditions are
not extreme, and the World Cup has introduced a kind
(06:15):
of a different rhythm, if you will, before teams have
even settled into the tournament, and so they're all worried
about player safety out of an abundance of caution. Remember
that from the pandemic you could literally do anything you
want in the world if you say out of an
abundance of caution, any ridiculous for gayzy rule you can
put in there as long as you say out of
(06:36):
an abundance of caution. So they're really worried about player
welfare and the logic.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
How can you disagree with the logic the forced pause.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
According to this coach of teamsa Pokatino, the force pause
in each half changes.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
The way that the match kind of.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Plays out right, but the way it breathes. So that
is a good jumping off point. It's very similar to
taking into other sports, like in baseball they added the
pitch clock, which fundamentally changed the game. The Ghost Runner, like,
there's a lot of dumb stuff that man fraud put
in there. When soccer, everyone's bitching about this pause, this
(07:19):
mandatory hydration break. So let us discuss the question are
you buying or selling the USA men's soccer coach Mauricio
Pocatino complaining about mandatory World Cup hydration break.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
So I've got NASCAR, sun kissed and psyop and we
will combine.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
All of these things together, and we are in the
eye of the storm, the eye of the storm.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
So, first of all, as you.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
May or may not know, we are what's known as
casuals when it comes to the sport of soccer. We're
not hard ohs. We don't obsess over soccer like everyone else.
We wrap ourselves in the flag. Every four years when
the World Cup comes around, there's a little extra rasthmatas
this year being that it's in North America. However, on
this one, the comments by Mauricio Pocatino, the guy that
(08:15):
coaches the USA team.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
I am guzzling the red, white and blue kool aid
on this grievance.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
And let's be very clear, Pokatino is not anti water
or anti safety. He's all about common sense. He's against
nonsense and the problem.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
And I saw an interview.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
I was on one of those dopey websites and when
I saw this online, I wasn't on social media.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
I was on a website and they wrote this whole
big thing, the problem is the rigid nature.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Like that there's no wiggle room apparently on this that
the people over at FIFA mandatory hydration breaks.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
And you know, I played.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Ayso when I was a kid who played soccer, and yeah,
I didn't like it because all you did was running around,
didn't score that much.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
But I played it as a kid, and it's a
fluid sport.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
And they are stopping matches when the weather does not
demand it, like, for example, the game tonight in SoCal
at six o'clock. It's likely going to be in the
mid seventies if that hot in Inglewood where they're playing.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
The game, and so it's gonna be fine.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
It's perfect conditions like that's you don't need a hydration break.
So why does every safety measure conveniently create new ad slots?
Speaker 1 (09:37):
I wonder why.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
So they're not protecting players, they're not worried about the electrolytes.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
The players are getting people at FIFA.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
They're protecting the stream as in the revenue stream. Hello,
FIFA has essentially engineered a clever way to squeeze those
lucrative AD dollars on the broadcast because this has always
been the complaint. And I've been in a world where
I know some people who do TV.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
I did a TV show for a couple of years,
not anymore.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
But the thing about the TV world in Soccer Week,
the reason that it didn't really get a lot of
traction on TV is because they can't put enough commercials.
There's not enough pauses, so this is a way for
them to make a little extra money. And it's masquerading
as player welfare, which is bullshoy. Think of this like
(10:28):
NASCAR sponsored pit stops. If you will, you know on NASCAR,
you get the pit stop, A're gonna go to pitt row.
FIFA calls it crucial hydration. And if you smell with
your nose, you can smell that does That's not good,
that's rotting, that's that's moldy. That's moldy. And obviously the
(10:49):
TV people are very excited.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
That's prime inventory. It's a beautifully cynical puzzle, and I
love cynical. And so the coach here again, the guy from.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
A Temosa Pocatino, he's completely right in my analysis here
to call out their charade. You should never have a
rule with no wiggle room, like common sense should apply.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Here, and it's not. And the reason it's not.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
He's calling out these charades because they're sacrificing the natural
flow of the what do you what do you people
call soccer? The beautiful game you call I think you
call it that, right? And so you have mandatory not
hydration breaks, commercial breaks, like they're not playing in Death Valley,
They're playing in.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Inglewood, which is much different.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Right, And FIFA could sell I'm telling you, if they
could sell oxygen, the people at FIFA, we would have
mandatory breathing pauses so they could sell you more oxygen. Secondly, wait,
there's more, believe it not more from the World Cup.
So this story has been bouncing around and this involves
you and I and it's the people at FIFA getting
(12:04):
roasted for these high priced tickets, like the whole strategy.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Let me explain, I'm not explaining this well.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
So, the people at FIFA have been accused of holding
back tickets to artificially create scarcity.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
On the ticket market.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
They launched their own resale platform with a fifteen percent
fee for both the people buying tickets and the people
selling the tickets, which means, if my malord math is correct,
they're making thirty percent on every ticket sale because they're
taking fifteen percent from the seller fifteen percent from the buyer,
that works out to thirty percent. And now, as a
(12:43):
result of this brilliant strategy that some bozo came up
with in a boardroom, somewhere they're.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Still I saw the number.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
I think there's one hundred and eighty thousand tickets available
for purchase for the World Cup.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
Our already started. Hello, one hundred and eighty.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Thousand tickets have not been sold yet for the World Cup.
So the question, why are we pretending that this FIFA
price gouging is some kind of surprise.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
That's what it is. Call what it is. I do
the old duck test.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
If it walks like a duck, it makes noises like
it there's a duck of coause we are not surprised.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
We are not surprised.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
However, it seems like many of the media elites out
there seem absolutely gobsmacked and thunderstruck that this could happen.
And it's artificial scarcity. It is not a glitch. It
is not a problem with the what you might call it.
It is the system that they came up with. They
(13:46):
created the FOMO and figured, hey, people will pay top
dollar because the fear of missing outs, like once in
a lifetime type situation if you're in North America and
these things come that off. And so they're like, okay,
so FOMO will limit the amount of tickets and then
we'll sell the antidote at a markup because of the FOMO.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
And honestly, FIFA's been.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Fifa ing, if that's the right way to say it,
since before they even existed.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Like the math on this is just great again.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Fifteen percent fee for the buyer of the ticket, fifteen
percent fee for the seller.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
That is a classic shakedown, is it not? Am I
wrong on that? That seems like a shakedown?
Speaker 3 (14:33):
And FIFA created scarcity the way Universal Studios in Hollywood
create superheroes.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Out of finnair, just out of thin air.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
They held back tickets like they were releasing a limited
sneaker drop. And at the very end of this and
we're not even at the end, but at this point
in the story, FIFA they didn't sell enough tickets. They
thought they could pull this off. They squeezed the fans
like sun a sunkiss, you know how they squeeze the
orange just to get that nice juice. So that's what
(15:04):
they did. And they want you to think that this
is like a victimless crime, except anyone that bought a
ticket and overpaid for the ticket, You're like, well, wait
a minute, what did I do?
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Get zooks? All right?
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Final thought from thirty thousand feet in the sky. So
the soccer hustle is obviously not over. They have a
ton of tickets they still have to sell. So let's
look up the Thomas Guide map on how this is
going to play out. The question where is this FIFA
ticketing skullduggery headed? And I'll tell you where it's headed
(15:34):
to a courtroom near you. FIFA, as we said, they
did not sell the tickets. They thought they were gonna
be able to sell, and they didn't just sell the tickets.
It's this whole thing feels like a CIA style psyop.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
It's like a.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Psychological experiment of scarcity. And they're not alone. Now I'm
ripping FIFA. This goes on in a lot of the
major sports operations called dynamic pricing, which is a way
to f over the customer. And we call it let's
see how much we can shake out of.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
The roubs, that's what we call it.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
And you don't get to hide inventory and call it
a phased release. That's called deception. And so this is
not again, it's not a misunderstanding the fans that bought tickets,
the soccer hardcore people.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
If you ended up paying top dollar for this.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
You were you got missile, right, that's what happened, right,
you got missiled. And that's just the way it is, pressured, manipulated,
whatever you want to say. It's a multinational corporation, FIFA,
and you know, testing how far they can push the
(16:50):
And this is really about screwing over Americans, right, you know,
ain't our friends in Canada.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
I don't think about Mexico as much.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
But from what I've read, FIFA's defense is essentially, as
I understand it, we didn't mislead customers.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
We just didn't tell them everything, which I.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Believe is still a lie. Right, a lie biomission is
still a lie. And it's like, don't urinate on my
leg and tell me that that's market driven pricing. So
FIFA wanted dynamic pricing, and they're about to get dynamic subpoenis.
(17:28):
Multiple states attorney generals, places like Jersey, California, New York
and other places are already pressing FIFA, and this is
going to end up in a courtroom. You're apparently not
able to run a global ticket scam and then act
shocked when some attorney generals are like, hey, we have
(17:50):
a nice invitation to come to our little speakeasy it's
called the Courtroom, and we can figure out this little
cat and mouse game that you've been playing.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
It is the Bad Mahlor Show.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
As we are getting the party started, and what better
way to continue the party.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
And we have Cooper. Let's get to the big third
degree time ship for ratings. How about that to the
third degree. This is one big Ben gets grilled Coop
dal loop.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
Ben that Seattle Seahawks are not favored to win the
Super Bowl, They're not even favored to win their own division.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Are you trying to upset no strudenus. Is that what
you're trying to do.
Speaker 5 (18:32):
Look, I'm just stating the facts.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
That's right, that's a fact.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
No strthenas put that you go pipe and smoking, no
Struthenas with Bigfoot.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
They're actually three teams that have better odds to win
the Super Bowl than the Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
You know why, Sam Darnold, that's what.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
Well Seahawks defensive lineman Leonard Williams said.
Speaker 5 (18:51):
I think I'd be lying if.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
There wasn't a little extra motivation from hearing that type
of stuff. So there's extra chips on their shoulder. Ben,
Do you think this dish suspect by the odds makers
is actually a good thing for Seattle.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
No, it doesn't matter because they're not as good as
they were last year.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
The roster's not as good.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
They also coop a loop, had the winners curse the
championship hangover, and they're not gonna.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Be able to get it done. Sam Donald's gonna revert
into Sam Donald. The defense won't be as good.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
And more importantly, they're not gonna get an extra two
points from the referees like they did against the Rams
in Seattle with that Fugaysey two point play, which the
play was over and they just went back and gave
Seattle two points, and I crunched the numbers. Seattle's gonna
need a whole touchdown now. They forget two points in
order for them to get back to the Super Bowl.
They're gonna need a full touchdown next.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
According to recent reports, the Chicago Bulls have narrowed down
their head coaching search to four finalists. They are Micah Nori.
It's an assistant head coach for the Timberwolves, Thiago Splitter,
Ryan Schmidt, another assistant head coach with the Hawks and
wes Uns.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
Ben If you were Chicago's Bulls fan. Would you be
excited about any of these names?
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Hell? No, at least Unseld. I've heard of you. I
heard his dad obviously back in the day. I like
that guy, Norri.
Speaker 3 (20:11):
Didn't he fill in for Minnesota a couple of years
ago in the playoffs?
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Mur their coach? He had a bad back or something?
Speaker 5 (20:17):
That is that George's son, George?
Speaker 3 (20:22):
That's right, Yes, he talks about kem trails in the huddle.
When I go with I never heard of any of
those people. But I'll go with that guy because I
remember he gave us a good SoundBite when he filled
in his.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
The Timberwolves coach a couple of years ago. So I'll
go with Nori. Al right.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
Next, all right, Ben, we have conflicting reports about what
Lebron James wants to do. We have one guy saying
that he actually prefers to stay with the Lakers because
his family is settled down in Los Angeles, And then
we have another guy saying that he has curiosity about
playing with Steph Curry.
Speaker 5 (20:57):
Which way would you lean, Ben?
Speaker 1 (20:59):
I believe he's going to Cleveland. I'll end on you.
Speaker 5 (21:01):
Still you're still on the Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
Yeah, that's the you know, that's the Disney story. Lebron's
all about making movies and all that. So the storybook
is you go back to the caves, you win a
championship again, fade the black.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
That's it, game over. So I'm going with Cleveland go.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
Why would they there was a rumor that the war
is gonna get Kawhi Leonard and Lebron James to why
they want to make sure the doctors are busy, Like,
what are you doing anyway?
Speaker 1 (21:25):
I don't know. How do we do cool?
Speaker 5 (21:27):
How passed it is?
Speaker 1 (21:28):
That's the letter.
Speaker 6 (21:31):
All right?
Speaker 3 (21:32):

that's at Ben mahlor I saw the people at FIFA
humiliated as the match between South Korea and Chechia or
whatever it's called. They had tons of empty seats, tons
of empty seats. So that's what happens. They miscalculated the market.

What did they do?
Speaker 3 (24:39):
Let's see does anyone know we go to the Great Unwashed.

That's from Eileen in San Francisco. To hold a sign
up saying boycott the World Cup hosted by USA, USA USA.
That's Kathy in Madison. To drop a heater from the
(25:02):
Sawman in Mississippi. To go to Yosemite like the kids
from nine oh two to one oh did. This is
a very important episode for fer Dog, who watched that
