to take back everybody, but only Dan gets to say
it out loud, something we call buyer's remorse.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
To have remorse, I.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behavior I engagement, but.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
There's nothing quite like buyers remorse.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
Zugers. Yeah, a couple of things I'd like to have back,
and actually you touched on a little bit of it. Earlier.
I once had confidence in the College Football Playoff Committee
and understanding on how to make a bracket and make
a bracket correct, and over the last couple of weeks,
in seeing what they were putting out in their earlier releases,
I started to question that. And now that the bracket

(01:35):
is out, I fully question it. And there was something
that you said earlier in the show when we did
rank on that was spot on and one of the
problems that you had with it. If you're going to
allow your conference champion that is on the outside looking
into the buys, that tells you that your conference maybe
isn't as strong as it should have been, So then

(01:56):
why is another team from that conference also getting in
to the postseason. The fact that these conference championship games
are even being played is ridiculous, but it just highlighted
the fact of the meaningfulness or the lack thereof, of
these games this past weekend and the committee being unable
to decipher on how to put together a bracket, specifically

(02:20):
when you have a Clemson scenario coming in as the
conference champion lower rated than the Big Twelve or the
Mountain West Conference so they don't get the buy yet,
and then you're saying also saying in the same breath, well,
SMU should also be in the bracket. And this isn't
a beat up on the little guys sort of deal.
It's just the fact that the committee can't get this straight.

(02:42):
And for some reason, every year the committee or the
committee that makes the basketball bracket also makes some erroneous errors.
And the thing that that could continue in a twelve
team bracket. I didn't think it was possible, Doug, but
it was, and it's evident now, especially with a team
like Oregon having the road they may have to face,
and the team of Penn State and having the road

(03:03):
that they may have to face pretty absurd.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
It reminds me of that line from Dumb and Dumber.
Just when I think you couldn't do anything dumb, are
you totally redeem yourself? Which is what our reaction will
be when we see the games. We'll forget about how
terrible is right.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
I think we also understand that there's a viewer portion
of this, and I do think the committee got right
by saying, you know what, We're gonna put Indiana against
Notre Dame. That's what we're gonna that's the matchup that
we're gonna set and it's shown to be one of
the hottest tickets around, if not the hottest ticket. I
think it is the hottest ticket of the college football

(03:39):
playoff games. So they understand that, but never in their
previous rankings do I recall an Indiana Notre Dame matchup.
I recall a lot of Penn State Indiana as being
thrown in there, some Penn State Notre Dame matchups I
believe as well. But they got that, at least they
got that portion right. I don't know how they could
miss on some of the other stuff. That's my college

(04:00):
football remorse.

Speaker 6 (04:02):
And then in the NFL fast before we move on,
I have a question for both of you. This is
an honest question. I'm not being a smart ass. I
usually am, but I'm not this time. How do we
do an office bracket pool for the college football playoff?
Because you know, the NCAA bracket pool is easy. You

(04:24):
just pick your winners and you have money at the
end or whatever. But like, what is the format for
this bracket? How do we pull this off? I've heard
rumors of a confidence picks bracket pool. I don't know
if that makes any sense. Do you pick against the spread.
What are we doing?

Speaker 5 (04:44):
I it hasn't even dawned on me, to be perfectly honest,
it's a pretty good point. I think you could just
do regular. I don't think you need to do confidence.
I think if you pick an upset, you could get
bonus points for the differential of the of the seed
that you picked and end up winning that. And they
do that in the college basketball pools.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
Bonus points for the lower seed.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
Yeah, yeah, that'd be cool. If you were to pick
as me to beat Penn State differentials five, you could
get five bonus points for that. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
Absolutely, whatever the format, we got to get on that,
we got to spread the email. Dan usually takes control
of these things. He's he's good at organizing.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Okay, what else do you do? You ever remind you
have no idea stug oh for how to bet on stuff?
Now I'm coming try not to get fired by man.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
Yeah. He can't really talk about frankettpools.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
I man, I can talk about it. I just can't
do it. I could advise people, you know, but that
worked for a state. I can't do that.

Speaker 5 (05:51):
I also had confidence of the Cowboys last night, Dougan,
when you picked the Bengals. I thought, man, Doug's going
to be on the wrong side of this, and then
a minute goes into war and Jays takes him and
the Cowboys aren't prepared any you know, uh.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Well, you know, in my in my Karnak the magnificent thoughts,
I saw that they were gonna clearly, clearly they were
going to block a punt two minutes to go and
then try and feel that punt, only to fumble and
give back to the I don't I can't believe you
didn't see that coming. Everybody saw that one coming.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
Man, if you're on the right side of that, you're like,
this is why I bet on sports. You're on the
wrong side, You're.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Like this, why am I betting on? This is the demosphere.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
Yes, that's my buyer's remorse for this week. You got
any remorse, Doug?

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Uh? Lots lots. I wish I hadn't put us in
a zone when we're down seven with like forty seven
seconds to go in the first half. I could go
through a bunch of things. We'll see here. Any other
bad decisions I've made here. I think I'm pretty good.

(07:03):
I think I'm pretty good in terms of recent decisions.
I'm I feel good about recent decisions, sports fires. Remorse,
you know what I do wish I hadn't gotten sucked
into the my Gundy thing on Friday. I mean not
that it affected me. I just I thought it was
so silly. It looked I thought looked terrible, just the

(07:24):
way the whole way was haled. And I didn't think
he would be fired for one second. But I did
reach out and call a couple of friends, just go like,
they're not firing, are they?

Speaker 7 (07:35):
Like?

Speaker 3 (07:35):
I don't know, so I just that's that's probably twenty
five minutes total phone calls I wish I had back.
There's my reforse Jace. Do you got any.

Speaker 6 (07:47):
Here's my my singular regret of the last five days.
I regret not appreciating the original Gladiator. I watched it
again over the weekend, and it is a kick ass movie.
I know, I think it one Best Picture. He won
Best Actor if I want to, I mean, it got
his accolades. I never appreciated it when it was out.

(08:10):
I know that coaches usually play it for their teams
to get them fired up and stuff, and I've always
just kind of been oblivious to this. I watched it
again in preparation of the sequel, and it is a
kick ass movie that I would very much recommend for
anybody who hasn't seen.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
It like that. A lot people haven't seen Gladiator. Anybody
I haven't. You haven't seen Gladiator. No, it's really good,
really good. But there's a little there's there's all the emotions.
No real funny in that movie, I don't think, but

(08:45):
there's It's pretty good. It's an epic too, all right,
I mean not a movie guy. All right, let's get
the damn byer because he is a sports guy and
find out what else going on sports.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
Yeah, you're updated on the Bill Belichick situation. The Athletic
reporting that there is an offer made to Belichick, but
the sides have not had an agreement made. There was
a report earlier that said that he's agreed to become
the head coach, and now it was up to the
board of trustees. But the Athletic is saying that he's
considering an offer at this time and that terms would

(09:17):
still are still being negotiated, and it does not mean
that it is a done deal for Bill Belichick to
be the next head coach at North Carolina. Some news
in college basketball. Actually, one other note from college football.
The Mountain West Conference is heading UC Davis in all
sports except football.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
Well.

Speaker 5 (09:34):
Class of twenty twenty five top basketball prospect aj Debonsa
has chosen to play his college basketball at BYU NBA
Cup Quarterfinals tonight. Miami Heater listening to offers for for
Jimmy Butler. According to ESPN, while Steelers wide receiver George
Pickens is not likely to play against the Eagles because
of his hamstring injury, head coach Mike Tomlin says it's

(09:56):
doubtful that Pickens will suit up in week fifteen. Doug
back to you.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
It's Doug Gotlieb Show here on Fox Sports Radio. Is
rich trod definitely going back to West Virginia? Has that?
Has that been announced? Rich Trodriguez, former West Virginia head coach,
You want to talk about a mere curial path, like
people don't. People have forgotten that he took the Michigan job.
But he nearly took the Alabama job, and it was

(10:22):
Alabama or Michigan, and he was at his all moderate
at West Virginia, and then the Michigan thing never worked,
and then he went to Arizona and then that thing
got ugly at the end and now is at Jackson State.
And again I don't know if it's been announced kind officially,
but that's so crazy, so crazy. It is the Doug

(10:43):
Gotleb Show here on Fox Sports Radio. All right, let's
let's let's get to this. This is this is good,
this is this is good sports radioing. As as they say,
I'm I'm excited about about this top. I don't get
excited very often, but I get excited about this topic.

(11:05):
After the win on Sunday, Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown
bluntly said the passing game is an issue for the team.
On Monday, Brandon Graham, who's the defensive end for the
Eagles who's out for the season with the torn triceps,
made these comments on ninety four WIP.

Speaker 8 (11:21):
I don't know the whole story, but I know that
one is trying. And I mean, I Levin could be
a little better with how he respond to.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Things, and they was friends before this.

Speaker 8 (11:33):
He's like man, but things have changed, and I understand
that because life happens. But it's the business side that
we have to make sure that we don't let the
personal get in the way.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Of the business.

Speaker 8 (11:44):
And that's what we gotta do better as right now,
because we know it's an issue. Everybody's seeing some things,
but we need to be able to talk talk things
out as men. You know what I'm saying. But we
need to let personal stuff go and then let's get
right for this game. Because man, it's like a lot
of stuff. Most of the time, it's just a conversation

(12:05):
that just need to be had. But the person with
the problem got to want to talk to the person
other than others.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
Oh, that's all I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Eagle's great Dona magnab waiting on the situation. Here's what
he had to say.

Speaker 9 (12:16):
Look, man, it's too grown men. It's too grown men.
If you got an issue, you come to me. Let's
not go through the media. And so if you got.

Speaker 7 (12:24):
To issue, this conversation needs to be had between me
and you, and then we had.

Speaker 9 (12:28):
That conversation with the play calls.

Speaker 7 (12:31):
But let's not go to the.

Speaker 9 (12:32):
Media because it now it blows up and then now
all of a sudden, you put it in the microprobe
back in his mouth, and then all of a sudden,
now it becomes well, I didn't mean it that way,
and I you know, I'm saying this, and you know
because now what you said is out there in front
of everybody. So now either you're going to back your
statement and make situations worse, or you're gonna now.

Speaker 7 (12:53):
Correct it and say this is what I meant. And
then even though that you may say it that way.

Speaker 9 (12:58):
It's still gonna make the situation look worse.

Speaker 7 (13:02):
Yeah, it was an issue.

Speaker 9 (13:03):
Yes, let's have that conversation. Hey, receiving a quarterback. We
can't have that thrownback conversation. And then we can have
that conversation with the coordinator board to head coach.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
Stug Gottlieb show here on Fox Sports Radio. I mean,
why are we are? Is anybody surprised that aj Brown
is complaining?

Speaker 9 (13:24):
Right?

Speaker 3 (13:25):
I mean again? And does he have the right to complain?

Speaker 9 (13:28):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Sure, it's a fair conversation. I mean I've never been
big on Jalen Hurts the thrower, you know, and you know,
we can say the the play color change, we can
say a lot of different things. And I can tell
you that one of the things I had heard going
back to Oklahoma, I've heard that in Philadelphia is that

(13:49):
Jalen Hurts is a huge, huge fan of Jalen Hurts,
you know, and he just has this confidence slash arrogance
and ability to be teflon. But again, why are we
surprised that AJ Brown, on a team with two losses
is complaining. We shouldn't be. This is who he is.

(14:12):
He's the malcontent wide receiver and it doesn't even mean
that he doesn't have a point, but the fact that
he gets public is purely AJ Brown.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
It's so ridiculous that this is the third straight season
now the Philadelphia Eagles are dealing with AJ Brown drama.

Speaker 9 (14:31):
Doug.

Speaker 5 (14:32):
If you remember divisional playoff against the New York Giants
two years ago, a game that the Eagles won like
thirty four to thirteen to go to the NFC Championship Game,
and AJ Brown was sitting on the sideline sulking because
he didn't get the ball enough in a playoff game.
This is guy who who, by the way, got a

(14:53):
contract extension this offseason from the Eagles, but also had
problems last year with anonymous horses saying that AJ Brown
needs better body language. He's stunk in the second half
of the I shouldn't say stunk. He was not AJ
Brown in the second half of last season and there
were issues there, body language issues, So this is now

(15:16):
the third straight season. Yeah, for as much as you
know Jalen Hurts, maybe about Jalen Hurts, this is this
is a repetitive theme in Philadelphia with aj Brown, who
again just just wanted to be valued and ended up
leaving a place that really didn't have any hope of
winning in Tennessee, least for what they've done lately, and

(15:39):
now is with the Eagles, Like, come on, this is absurd.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Yeah, no, I'm with Okay. So Brandon Graham had some
clarifying remarks quote, I just assumed about their friendship and
made it out to look even worse because I had
it wrong, And now people are going to run with
that part. It really just want to win, man. I
want brothers to be able to hash it out out.
I'll make sure I apologize to both of them. I

(16:03):
actually think that's fair. A lot of time, it's a
big locker room. You don't know what's going on. But
again I don't care. I don't care as a fan
and I'm not even a fan of the Eagles. But
like the fact that any of this gets public when
you've lost two games and you have a chance to
go to another super Bowl and it's the same guy.

(16:26):
I don't care. That's the part of the TOO thing
that drove me crazy, and Too was way better than
AJ Brown. AJ Brown's good player, don't get me wrong.
It's that at some point, it doesn't matter the topic.
It doesn't matter who said what or when they said
or all that stuff. It's always the same guys, it

(16:48):
always is, and making it public is the big issue.
Not knowing that guys have to be better, not you know,
being able to be critical some of these performance all
that stuff can take place inside the Eagles facility. Outside
the Eagle facility. Hey man, we're great. We're getting ready

(17:08):
to make a playoff runt. And I just I don't
know why we're surprised. I don't know why anybody would
be surprised.

Speaker 5 (17:15):
I also think that the Jalen Hurts throwing issues are
stuff that's kind of well known, Doug, and that AJ
Brown not being happy about not getting the football is
almost piling on in a way. And I don't know
if it's his way to curry favor in terms of
being like, yeah, he does stink, imagine how I feel

(17:38):
sort of deal, but it's just it's it's very, very
odd because then now like Jalen Hurts has got to
sort stuff out. By the way, DeVante Smith hasn't been
really healthy. Dallas Goddard spent in and out throughout the season,
so it's not like they've got this normal receiving core.
But it's now you have to force feed the ball

(17:58):
to a J. Brown just to get them to shut up,
which is what they did, by the way, in the
NFC Championship game after they lost, after they beat the Giants,
and then they beat the Niners, like first play that
they have from scrimmage, pass the AJ Brown right away
to get them active. And it's yeah, just yeah, for
a team that's won nine straight. Nice work, nice work,

(18:23):
nice work.

I wish I had back. There's my reforse Jase. Do

(26:14):
you got any.

Speaker 6 (26:16):
Here's my singular regret of the last five days. I
regret not appreciating the original Gladiator. I watched it again
over the weekend, and it is a kick ass movie.
I know, I think it one Best Picture. He won
Best Actor if I want to, I mean it got
his accolades. I never appreciated it when it was out.

(26:39):
I know that coaches usually play it for their teams
to get them fired up and stuff, and I've always
just kind of been oblivious to this. I watched it
again in preparation of the sequel, and it is a
kick ass movie that I would very much recommend for
anybody who hasn't seen it.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
Like a lot people haven't seen Gladiator.

Speaker 5 (27:01):
Anybody I haven't.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
Do you haven't think Gladiator. No, it's really good, really good.
But there's a little there's there's all the emotions. No
real funny in that movie, I don't think, but there's
it's pretty good. It's an epic too, all right, I
mean not a movie. Guy, Stug Gottlieb Show here on

(27:23):
Fox Sports Radio. Is rich trod definitely going back to
West Virginia? Has that? Has that been announced? Rich Trodriguez,
former West Virginia head coach? You want to talk about
a mere curial path, like people don't People have forgotten
that he took the Michigan job, but he nearly took
the Alabama job, and it was Alabama or Michigan. And

(27:45):
he was at his all moderate at West Virginia and
then the Michigan thing never worked, and then he went
to Arizona and then that thing got ugly at the end,
and now is at Jackson State. And again I don't
know if it's been announced kind of officially, but that's
so crazy, so crazy. It is the Doug Gottlieb Show

(28:06):
here on Fox Sports Radio. All right, let's let's let's
get to this. This is this is good, this is
this is good sports radioing. As as they say, I'm
I'm excited about about this topic. I don't get excited
very often, but I get excited about this topic. After

(28:27):
the win on Sunday, Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown bluntly
said the passing game is an issue for the team.
On Monday, Brandon Graham, who's the defensive end for the
Eagles who's out for the season with the torn triceps,
made these comments on ninety four WIP.

Speaker 8 (28:43):
I don't know the whole story, but I know that
one is trying. And I mean, I Livin could be
a little better with how he respond to things, and
they was friends before this. It's like, man, but things
have changed. And I understand that because life happens. But
we gotta it's the business side that we have to
make sure that we don't let the personal get in

(29:05):
the way of the business. And that's what we got
to do better as right now, because we know it's
an issue. Everybody's seen it with some some things. But
we need to be able to talk talk things out
as men. You know what I'm saying. But we need
to let personal stuff go and and let's get right
for this game. Because man, it's like a lot of stuff.

(29:25):
Most of the time. It's just a conversation that just
needs to be had. But the person with the problem
gotta want to talk to the person other than others.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
Oh, that's all I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
Eagle's great. Don McNab waiting on the situation is what
he had to say.

Speaker 9 (29:38):
Look, man, it's too grown men. It's too grown men.
If you got an issue, you come to me. Let's
not go through the media.

Speaker 7 (29:45):
And so if you got to issue, this conversation needs
to be had between me and you. And then way
had that conversation with the play call, but let's not
go through the media because it now it blows up
and then now all of a sudden you put it
back in his mouth and then all of a but
now it because well I didn't mean it that way,
and I didn't you know, I'm saying this, and you
know because now what you said is out there in

(30:07):
front of everybody. So now either you're gonna back your
statement and make situations worse, or you're gonna now correct.

Speaker 9 (30:15):
It and say this is what I meant. And then
even though that you may say it that way, it's
still gonna make the situation look worse. Yeah, Now, if
there was an issue. Yes, let's have that conversation. Hey,
receive it a quarterback. We can have that grown back conversation,
and then we can have that conversation with the coordinator board,
the head coach.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Stug Gottlieb show here on Fox Sports Radio. I mean,
why are are is anybody surprised that Aj Brown is complaining?

Speaker 9 (30:46):
Right?

Speaker 3 (30:47):
I mean again, and does he have the right to complain? Sure? Sure,
it's a fair conversation. I mean, I've never been big
on jail and Hurts the thrower, you know, and you know,
we can say the play collar change, we can say
a lot of different things. And I can tell you
that one of the things I had heard going back

(31:07):
to Oklahoma, I've heard at in Philadelphia is that Jalen
Hurts is a huge, huge fan of Jalen Hurts, you know,
and he just has this confidence, slash arrogance and ability
to be teflon. But again, why are we surprised that

(31:28):
Aj Brown, on a team with two losses is complaining?
We shouldn't be. This is who he is. He's the
malecontent wide receiver. And it doesn't even mean that he
doesn't have a point, but the fact that it gets
public is purely AJ Brown.

Speaker 5 (31:43):
It's so ridiculous that this is the third straight season
now the Philadelphia Eagles are dealing with AJ Brown drama. Doug.
If you remember divisional playoff against the New York Giants
two years ago, a game that the Eagles won like
thirty four to thirteen to go to the NFC Championship game,

(32:04):
and AJ Brown was sitting on the sideline sulking because
he didn't get the ball enough in a playoff game.
This is guy who who by the way, got a
contract extension this offseason from the Eagles, but also had
problems last year with anonymous sources saying that AJ Brown

(32:25):
needs better body language. He's stunk in the second half
of the I shouldn't say stunk. He was not AJ
Brown in the second half of last season and there
were issues there body language issues. So this is now
the third straight season. Yeah, for as much as you
know Jalen Hurts may be about Jalen Hurts, this is

(32:45):
This is a repetitive theme in Philadelphia with AJ Brown,
who again just just wanted to be valued and ended
up leaving a place that really didn't have any hope
of winning in Tennessee least for what they've done lately
and now is with the Eagles, Like, come on, this
is absurd.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
Yeah, no, I'm I'm with Okay. So Brandon Graham had
some clarifying remarks quote, I just assumed about their friendship
and made it out to look even worse because I
had it wrong, and now people are going to run
with that part. It really just want to win, man.
I want brothers to be able to hash it out.
I'll make sure I apologize to both of them. I

(33:25):
actually think that's fair. A lot of time, it's a
big locker room. You don't know what's going on. But again,
I don't care. I don't care as a fan and
I'm not even a fan of the Eagles, But like
the fact that any of this gets public when you've
lost two games and you have a chance to go
to another super Bowl and it's the same guy, I

(33:48):
don't care. That's the part of the to thing that
that drove me crazy. And t O was way better
than AJ Brown. AJ Brown's good player. Don't get me wrong.
It's that at some point, it doesn't matter the topic.
It doesn't matter who said what or when they said
or all that stuff. It's always the same guys. It

(34:09):
always is, and making it public is the big issue.
Not knowing that guys have to be better, not you know,
being able to be critical of some of these performance.
All that stuff can take place inside the Eagles facility,
outside the ego facility. Hey man, we're great, We're getting

(34:30):
ready to make a playoff run. And I just I
don't know why we're surprised. I don't know why anybody
would be surprised.

Speaker 5 (34:37):
I also think that the Jalen Hurts throwing issues are
stuff that's kind of well known Doug, and that AJ
Brown not being happy about not getting the football is
almost piling on in a way. And I don't know
if it's his way to curry favor in terms of
being like, yeah, he does stink, imagine how I feel.

(34:59):
So deal, But it's just it's it's very very odd
because then now like Jalen Hurts has got to sort
stuff out. By the way, DeVante Smith hasn't been really healthy,
Dallas Goddard spent in and out throughout the season, so
it's not like they've got this normal receiving cores. But
it's now you have to force feed the ball to

(35:21):
Aj Brown just to get them to shut up, which
is what they did, by the way, in the NFC
Championship game after they lost, after they beat the Giants
and then they beat the Niners. Like first play that
they have from scrimmage, pass the AJ Brown right away
to get him active, and it's yeah, it's just yeah.
For a team that's won ninth straight. Nice work, Nice work,

(35:44):
nice work.

Speaker 3 (35:45):

Speaker 5 (36:25):
We're going to start out in college football, Ross Dellinger
Yahoo Sports reporting that SEC Commissioner Greg sank wants some
changes and making his first comments publicly since the bracket
was revealed on Sunday, Sanki admitting that this current format
that was set up for this twelve team playoff was

(36:46):
not the way that they envisioned the college football landscape
to be when they were designing this sort of landscape.
They felt that at the time, and this is pretty
rich with Sankee saying this, that there would be five
equitable conferences and that this would allow them to have
their way into the bracket where you would have the

(37:08):
PAC twelve being the old PAC twelve and the Big
Ten being the old Big Ten. That that's what this
format was set up for, and obviously it is not.
It is not a welcome sight to those in the SEC,
especially and possibly the Big Ten, although the Big Ten
did get four teams, but Greg Sankey saying that, yeah,

(37:28):
you can expect changes in this format.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
Yep, oops right, oops.

Speaker 5 (37:36):
Yeah. The only part that I don't feel bad for
is again, like they were a part in eliminating the
five equitable conferences. You know, it's like Oglahoma and Texas,
like that's and that was the domino that then started
everything else. So I don't feel bad for them in
that way. But Dellinger says that there are certain things

(37:58):
that can't be changed even into for next year. The
inclusion of the five highest rank conference champions, and there's
other things that you would need a unanimous vote on.
But as we've talked about Doug many times here, stuff
can be changed next year. But expect the biggest changes
to come after next year's bracket, where they don't need

(38:19):
to be unanimous on a lot of things, and you're
going to have a much more better feel of what
the college football world's going to be.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
Yeah, what do you think that the immediate changes are.
I don't think you'll ever see boyse as the top
four seed again. My guest would be there'll be some
sort of power rankings for the top four seeds. That's
the first thing. I do think computers and more people
are scared of computers and data and whatever if it

(38:46):
takes away the human element. I don't understand why we're
doing the have the college football analysts do it, and
I understand that some of them played at some of
these schools, But I think if you get a big
enough number of them, you'll get the right teams. You know,
you get the right teams.

Speaker 5 (39:04):
I think that it's funny because we went back and
forth with all of this, whether it be the PCs,
whether it be the Bowl Alliance. In all these deals,
you go back and forth, and right when you think
that computers don't give you what you want, you go
to the humans and then you empower the humans to
make some of the decisions that they made in this

(39:25):
most recent bracket. But I think what you will see
is I do think that you'll see it expand the
fourteen schools, and I do think you'll see the SEC
in the Big Ten getting the first round byes for
their conference champions yep. So that's what I think that
you're going to see again if you missed it. The
athletics says Bill Belichick mully an offer to be the
next head football coach at North Carolina. Sides remain apart

(39:47):
on some key issues, according to report, and there was
a separate report that said Belichick had agreed to the
offer and now it was just up to the board
of trustees at the university to approve, but some of
the trustees were not on board. That report has not
been confirmed or followed up by any other media source.
But that's what's out there about Bill Belichick.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
And look, and we'll talk about this some in the pod,
but I do think if he takes it, I think
it makes a lot more sense than people are up
making it out. It's not the way it used to be.
It's not totally pro football, but it's really close to
what the Patriots were really good at, which is playing
that waiver wire.

Speaker 5 (40:29):
The Miami Heat are listing the offers for forward Jimmy Butler.
According to ESPN Heat right now twelve and ten, they're
in the five spot in the East.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
In the five spot. But something's gone on between Jimmy
Butler and that franchise. I remember he had those weird
comments at the end of the year last year that
felt like, you make those comments about pat Riley's franchise
and you're not long for pat Riley's franchise. And sure enough,
he's likely not long for pat Riley's franchise.

Speaker 5 (40:58):
I am just curious on what team would be interested
in Jimmy Butler because he's not an easy fit to
fit into your locker room. Nope, there can be He
can be a guy that can bring people together, but
it's also been the opposite and putting people apart. So yeah,
I just I'm not sure on what the what the

(41:20):
market would be. Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard returned to practice today.
A coach Tyler says he's not going to play at
all this week, but he was on the court trying
to make his season debut returning from a knee injury.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
That's big time, big time. There's some that thought he'd
be out for the entire season. Obviously, now he's not
going to be. The question is when will he return.

Speaker 5 (41:37):
Aj Debonsa is chosen to play at BYU, the top
prospect in the class of twenty twenty five, picking the
Cougars over the likes of North Carolina and other schools
Alabama in the mix. But he is going.

Speaker 3 (41:51):
To know he is not LGB. No, he is not
not GBI, he is not OHDS LDS.

Speaker 6 (41:57):
No.

Speaker 3 (41:58):
Like that's really the story here is like the number
one prospect who's not LDS is going to BYU And granted,
Kevin Young, former NBA assistant, but I don't think the
story is an NBA style, nor is it the twenty
four thousand people they could put the marryout center. I
think the story is a reported seven million dollars in
nil which feels ridiculous, But again, like Buiu's basketball program,

(42:23):
football program are actually used to spread spread the gospel
of John Smith, so it kind of actually does make sense,
even if it'll be an interesting mix when he gets
on the basketball floor.

Speaker 5 (42:34):
Yahoo Sports reports the Mountain West Conference is ending. You
see Davis in all sports except football, so that Jaggi's yeah.

Speaker 3 (42:43):
I've actually it's one of the places in California. I've
never been.

Speaker 5 (42:47):
I've never been either. Jason Stewart. Have you ever been
to UC Davis?

Speaker 6 (42:51):
No, I haven't.

Speaker 5 (42:54):
It's over three oh for three here, Mary Mack, No,
I don't think so. All right. Steelers water receiver George
Pickens not likely to play against the Eagles because of
his hamstring injury. Head coach Mike Tomlin says he's doubtful,
and for the first time since the twenty twenty two season,
Doug Carolina Panthers in line to be favored in an
NFL game right now, a two and a half point

(43:15):
favorite over the Dallas Cowboys in Week fifteen.

Speaker 3 (43:19):
That's crazy, although the Cowboys backups across the board. And look,
let's just be honest. Bryce Young has played better.

Speaker 5 (43:28):
Absolutely yeah, and it showed up in Philadelphia. And then
you have to wonder on what the collateral damage could
be from the Cowboys loss last night that could carry
over into the rest of the season.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
Yes, good, good point.

Speaker 5 (43:39):
And that is the press they get out there and press.

Speaker 2 (43:42):
That was the press.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
