Speaker 1 (01:45):
Guys, UFC three oh eight just wrapped in illiots, Syphoria
is still the featherweight world champion, knocking out Max Holloway
in round three of what was a fantastic fight. Guys,
this tells you time and time again that he's different,
that he's special. We all wonder whether or not he's
(02:08):
telling the truth or does he believe it.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
I remember sitting with Eliot Tofoa in Anaheim when he.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Was telling me he was gonna knock out Alexander Bolkanowski,
and I said to him, it is much more difficult
to do this then you think Iliot. He's a world champion,
he's amazing, he's good. I had so many adjectives to
describe Bulk and he said, brother, I understand, but I'm
going to get it done. He went out there and
(02:34):
he got it done. He was even more bullish than
the idea that he was gonna do it. To Max
Holloway tonight, he said he would be the first to
finish the guy that has showed he has a granted chin,
to show that he could be the guy that is
a tremendous box on his own right.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
And Iliot did it. The fight starts to pour your
starts the first.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Round almost chasing a knockout, but then Holloway was presenting
a different look than he might have eff so that
Dapori goes to a takedown. Once the Poria gets to
take down, Max works his way back to his speak,
and then we have a very competitive We have a
very competitive first round between these two. I mean, I
(03:13):
remember I was watching going this is exactly what we
thought we were going to see. Those guys gave it
to us. But you could see that Iliot was very
close in the right hands. He was very close with
left hooks, but he was pursuing Max. Holloway landed some
real good shots early with Max, as he always does,
was ever to take, was able to take them.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
But Daporia was not the third.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Holloway kind of starts to find this rhythm late in
the rounds.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
In round one and in round.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Two he started to find his rhythm a little bit,
but the pooria stayed the case. The course kept on
pursuing Max, kep on pursuing Max.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Seemed to be very fresh.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
He just seemed to be ready to go and try
to find his knockout, no matter what he had to
do in order to get there. Hell, he said in
the first ten seconds he woul point to the ground
and say he did that. You know, I don't know
if we have ever seen a guy at one that
punches like this dude.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
He hits like no one I've ever seen before.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Connor McGregor had great power at one forty five, but
Conna McGregor I don't think had the skills that Elliott
Tafuria has in terms of his pure boxing without going
and fighting a pure boxing match.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
I was talking to some.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Of the people in the back and they told me
he's like Triple G, and I agree. Remember Triple G
is that just starts dudes early in his career. Taporia
is like that to Poia is that guy he has
that power to knock you out and do it in
just absolutely devastating fashion. You try to find words to
(04:51):
describe him, but it's proving very, very difficult because I
never thought that anybody will be able to knock out Max.
He did it tonight in the third round, and he
did it in impressive fashion.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
You know, the Fight of the Year.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Conversation felt like it was over, like Alex Perrera was
the guy that was the fighter of the year, no
questions asked.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
That's not the case. I think that.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
These two wins singularly are as good as any two
wins anybody can have. No disrespected Jamal Hill, you're pro
Hoskin Khalil Rowntree. He just beat the two best fighters
of the generation prior, but they're still in this generation
because they're both very very young. He just beat two
of the greatest featherweight tom all time, there's only three.
(05:41):
He beat two of them in a calendar year. Elliot,
to Pooria is the fight of the year. He is
the fighter of the year, and in my opinion, there
is no questions to be asked. That result makes it true.
Paul Felton told me it would be like Alex fighting
John and I in our prime and knocking us both
(06:02):
out in the same calendar year. And if I'm being
completely honest, I don't know that he could have done that.
Elliott just did it. Beat those guys in their prime.
It was very, very impressive. Hats up to the chance.
He's so gracious. He's so gracious. He gives hats off
the Max said. He hopes to be just a fraction
of what Max was to him and the generation before.
(06:24):
He gives Volkanovski a remax because if anybody deserves it,
he does.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
It was amazing to watch man.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
This kid is going to be good for a really
long time because he can do it all. He came
here in twenty twenty as a grappler and he is
just knocking people out left and right, and every time
he gets better.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Last thing before I move on, Teddy aplers start. His
kid three years.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Ago, got on the phone and called us, called everybody
at Hespen and said who is that? He said, who
is that? He said, that kid is going to be
the world champion. That kid is the best boxer I
have scene in the UFC in a really long time.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Who is that?
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Nobody's asking who Elliot's the poor he is anymore? The
guy's the real deal and he's a star and the
comin event. Hams At Jamaiah earned himself a title shot,
or at least he should have. He submitted Robert Whitaker
in the first round. First round, went across the octagon,
double legged him, took him down, choked him and broke
his jaw. Broke his jaw would have squeeze some a
(07:27):
rear naked joke. It was nuts to see him do
that to a guy that once again was the generation
before him, was one of the guys. Robert Whitaker for
a long time has been one of the guys. He
wasn't a champions. He was ranked number one or number two.
Jamaia has ranked twelve right now. He went and beat
him in the first round and if you're saw Stricklands.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
That result worries you why.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Because mcmahonard, sitting right next to me, jumps up once
to day and they start talking with Hunter. The Dana
immediately runs over to follow Jamaiah and talk to him.
That's scary to a guy that is considered the number
one contender because that tells you that things are happening,
and if you're not fighting and solidifying yourself, it's a
bit scary.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
And tonight Ham's at Chamayah, to me, feels like he.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
Solidified himself as the number one contender at one hundred
and eighty five pounds. His wrestling, his top control, his mentality,
his approach is not like many things that we have seen.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
You know, the sport of mixed martial arts.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Always continues to grow in a ball and there's always
people going, well, what's next when Connor McGregor goes well,
Max Hollowey was ready to hold that belt right well,
Alexander Bolkanowski was ready.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Now Elliot Tapooria is ready. You know. Hams at Chamayah
seems like.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
He's ready to carry this division in to the next generation.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
But Dracs Duplessi is not gonna roll over for him.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
But if they booked these guys today, I believe that
Ham's at Chamaiah will be the favorite. He will be
the favorite on most coore cards if they put him
in Drake's dupless matched up right now, that is how
good he's looked in every fight. He learned in the
Kamara Ustman fight, Kamara Usman elevated him and Kamorrow Usman
texted me right after the first round and goes that
(09:19):
guy is hell loong Wills in the first round and
if you cannot survive that, you are in trouble.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
As the boy Miles is behind me right now. He
screwed me Fantasy soccer this week. This guy sucks. But
Ham's at Jamaiyah should be fighting for the belt next.
He really should.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
I don't know what the US is going to do,
but if they say, hey, you're next, I don't know
that Sean Strickland has much in terms of reasons how
he can complain to the organization about how they're wrong
because of what he did tonight to a future Hall
of Famer and Robert Whittaker, Michael Man and Kalia deserves
(09:55):
the title fight. Please guys, give this man a title fight.
And after watching him night against Alexander Rockets. I truly
believe he will go out there and stand what Alex Perera.
He'll go out there and stand with Pereira, which would
then make for a really good fight because he is
a phenomenal striker in his own regard.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
This guy is as good as any we have seen
that two oh five.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
I don't know that he can just stand and trade
with Perera, but it seems as though he would be
more than willing to do just that. He did good tonight.
It was a good fight.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
He said.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
He was very surprised at Rockats's approach because he didn't
let him fight the way he wanted to fight.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
But I thought alexand the Rockets fought a pretty good fight.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Char Bullet Beacha Metal did a double spinning backfits.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
I have never seen a double spinning backfitst in my life.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
But this kid has now proven time and time again
that he will do things that we have not seen before.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
It's who he is, it's.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
How he fights, and it's what makes him truly special.
Evil Aslan had another knockout. Laron Murphy got the job
done against Dan Hege, biggest win of his career.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Jeff Neil beat.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Rafael Dosaniols Hafel Dosanios doesn't matter. He got hurt, which
sucks to see, but Jeff Neil was going to win
that fight.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
It was crazy.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
But Tess Rabeski and Orball had the craziest fight of
all time. If you did not watch that, please go
back and watch it. It was nuts to sit in
here and watch the amount of blood in the effort
that these two put into this fight. Guys, congratulations to
a Boost Mega METTOF Kennedy and Zechiku basarad Ismalnardiev and
(11:34):
Renok vak Ordinov who did not win that. Renok fac Ordinov,
I don't care if he goes on any press conference
that complains about our commentary.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
That dude longs.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
But still congratulations he got a victory, even though I
think it was one of the worst decisions I've seen
in a really long time.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
Gouts. Before I go, I want to talk a little
bit about Max Holloway.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Max Holloway is the best, he really is, and Max
Holloway deserves whatever he wants next. Obviously, you guys know
he's one of my best friends. He's a tremendous human being,
a tremendous fighter, and He went out there tonight and
he put it out on the line, and he fought
a very very good fight. He got caught and he
(12:13):
got hit in a way that I have never seen
him get hit before. But he should never hang his
head because there are not many people that have stepped
footing an octagon that has given us the memories that
Max Holloway has given us. So when people start to
talk about what's next, let's not rush to try to
send him out the door. Because he's thirty two years
(12:33):
old and he has so much more to give. Don't
forget that only six months ago he gave you one
of the greatest knockouts of all time. And just in that,
it tells me that if he wants, he can compete
at one hundred and fifty five pounds. Candle McGregor needs
to fight. Put him in there with Max Holloway. I
would love to watch it. I want for my friend
(12:54):
to get the biggest boatload of money that he could
ever get.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
But hold your head, my brother.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
We all love you, we're proud of you, and you
did tremendous and I know that you have many more
memories to give them.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
The sport a mixed martial arts. So keep your head up.
We all love you, buddy, guys.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
The Knight belonged to Elliot to pour you though he's
the best, he's the world champion.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
He carries himself as such, big smile on his.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Face, enjoying every moment of being the man, and he's
really good. I'm so excited to see what happens next.
John doesn't believe he goes to Australian Honestly, I don't.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
Know why he would.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Why would you go to Australia to fight Alexander Volkanowski
when you're the man. I'd love to go watch him
fight at the Santiago Bernabao and Madrid.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
That would be a dream for your boy. Guys.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
I mean, I have the best job in the world.
This is just amazing. So heading back to the United States.
But what a time it was in Appel dab as
it always is. Until next time, tell you friends about

Speaker 2 (13:58):

always happened into my stuff.
