Speaker 1 (00:00):
So at Portland we have like kind of a It
was in the first quarter and like we went on
a run and then we just started sloping and like
the starting five. Coach needed them, but the TV people
wanted ab Aliah Boston and coach said no, like we're
talking about something, and so they picked me. They're like,
all right, soph you gotta go. I was like, okay,
I'll be your slobby seconds.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Hello little West Sophie cunning him. What's up?
Speaker 3 (00:41):
How are we.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
The best best ever been? Actually? Do I look tan?
Speaker 1 (00:47):
You did look tan?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Really a little bit? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Well sunburn?
Speaker 4 (00:52):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Cool? No, I like I think I got burnt the
first day kind of and then I'm good.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
But where were you wedding?
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yeah in Italy for a little but I try to
get some sun. Lucky hey, because I was pale. You
look more tan.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Also, hair, middle part, jayle headphones.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
We're tunny now, shout out Jay Lob cute.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Oh wow for those listening, Sophie's hair today, lots of volume.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
I look like a lion and curls.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Though.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
That's pretty That like is good texture?
Speaker 3 (01:27):
It is?
Speaker 2 (01:28):
You know who's on my screen behind the camera right now?
Jay Williams. Shout out Jay Williams. Miss him.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
I love him, dude. I've been listening to him so
much just because, like the playoffs and especially when okay
see and the Spurs were going, he had some great points,
very valid points too, I'd.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Say great points. That's what he's known for. Yep, yep
to hop into hoops fever. Two game skid. It's okay
early in the season.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Not doing so hot right now.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Talk to me where, Like, how do you feel?
Speaker 1 (01:59):
First of all, we are circled on everyone's roster right
or like everyone's game schedule, we are the one circled.
We are the only team who has all nationalized televised games,
and just like people hate us, and I get that,
like I hate other teams too, so that's nothing new.
But I just think everyone expects us to like leave
off of where we were last year. And yes, we
(02:20):
have like some of the same players as last year,
but we also have so many new players that are
playing huge minutes for us, and I think it just
takes a second to you know, get rhythm and chemistry
and trust each other. Like I think this is very
normal team things, but we have to like do it sooner.
Than later, Like it's it's everyone's a little frustrated with
how we're playing because we all know we're better than it.
(02:42):
But I think sometimes you need this type of stuff
in order to get to like the root of the
problem of whatnot and then this is what takes to blossom.
So tonight we play Atlanta Dream. Yes, we're on a
two game losing streak, which is not great. They were
on the road, no excuses, We at least need to
win one attitude when you're on the road, like you
need to win one of them, especially when you're capable
of winning them. All teams are good this year, so
(03:04):
that also makes it a little more difficult.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
But tonight is a big game for us.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
Back to you saying everyone hates you guys, obviously the
CC part of it all. I think right when she
got into the league, it was very clear that she
was kind of getting bullied and people were trying to.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Make a statement.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Are there other aspects you think to the fever that
make other teams kind of put a target on your back?
I mean you, I mean you kind of could be
one two is like the shit talker.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Yeah, yeah, no, one thousand percent.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
I just think that we we just have get so
much attention drawn to us.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
Yeah, nationally televised every game. Yeah, in like I get.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
That and I understand it.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Like when I wasn't on Indiana, like it was like, oh,
like you guys get all attention, We'll prove to you
that you don't deserve the attention type stuff. And so
and right now, like we we are like a five
hundred team, like we we should. We are in the
bottom of the pack right now, Like we have got
to be winning these games that we're losing.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
And the only thing I.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Appreciate right now is like, first, we're not going to
peak too soon. I've said that multiple times already on
this podcast. And two, I think I'd much rather be
going through the trenches right now than in September or October.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
So like it's part of the season.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
We're just like everything we do is just highlighted and
on a you know, microscope.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Everyone's watching every little thing we do.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
And I think there's some moments that I see in
our rundown that we want to talk about that's kind
of been blown out of proportion, you know, with stuff
going on with our team during timeouts and whatnot. But
I think these are all learning lessons. It's opportunity to
grow and get better, and sometimes you just need kind
of the ickiness in order to start building that chemistry
and trust.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
You know. I do think as someone who again like
a football.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Guy, where you don't really ever have time to kind
of like go on losing streaks or whatever.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
I do admire. I value an NBA.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
Scheduled excuse me, like a WNBA NBA schedule that you
you are given time to like fuck up a little
and like fix it and get better. Where like football,
just because I've played for my whole life, have never
been given the opportunity to like have growing pains and
learn from them.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
You have to be good every single weekend.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
And so I think there's beauty to like struggles, like
you said, especially when you have enough games to like
rewrite your ship for sure. Yeah uh you mentioned sideline
or timeouts. Yeah it came across my desk a little
clip of CC with your coach where you like, I mean,
(05:36):
I think most athletes be like that's just someone who
cares about winning and like.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Has passion and energy.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
But I'll let you kind of give everyone the inside
scoop to what happened there.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
You know, I don't even know if there was like
any inside scoop. I think that there stuph and CC
are two very competitive people who just want to win,
and sometimes you you bump heads, but it was all
out of like good intent of wanting the same thing,
and like at the end of the day, like we
were not playing good. I'm not condoning her actions, like
(06:10):
I think there's room to grow in how you respond
to things. But she would say the same thing, and
her and stuff are fine, and that's like their relationship.
And you know, later that night or the next morning,
they hugged it out and they talked about it, like
when you were in high competitive situations pretty much four
days out of the week, like stuff is going to happen.
But like I said, our stuff is just under a
(06:31):
microscope and everything you do, everything you say, is going
to be a highlight reel for somebody. And I think
media loves to create division where there's not always division.
And so it's two competitive people who want to win
at a high level. And I think that's really all
it was. And so if you don't know that, if
(06:51):
you don't know them, was it a bad look?
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Maybe?
Speaker 2 (06:53):
But at the end of the day.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
It's two people who want to win, so.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Not the first person to ever do that. And they
made a big out of her skipping media. Do you,
as someone who loves a postgame interview thoughts she Oh, she.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Skipped she skipped postgame.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Media against the Valkyrie. I believe.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
I don't think that there's anything I think she had
to get Like her, she didn't get her game left
in before the game, so I think she had a
lift after the game.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Like, I don't think there was anything to that.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Yeah, I don't know. I was in the gym, you guys.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Yeah, I really don't think there was anything to that.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
But again, like people love to hype shit up, but
I don't think there's really anything to hype up.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
There a pregame lift before every it's like it's for
like movement and stuff, right and like moving weight around.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
No, it's it's more and some people do like a
light lift, some people like to get their muscles going whatnot.
But it's mainly to like it's more mobility, I would say,
than anything.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
It's more yeah, like that's.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
Okay, Like you're kind of if you play good or
if we don't play good, Like people are just on
rotation and maybe it was just not her night to
do it, but I know she was like lifting or
something after the game.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
So actually, I think this would be interesting to talk about.
Do you know if your contract has clauses for like
when you're available to media, So like last night watching
Spurs Nicks, that's a good game between first and between
first and second quarter. Yeah, Like Kat did an interview
(08:19):
and I'm like, no one would ever want to do that,
or like you know, when a college football coach is
like running off the field, they have to do an interview,
Like no one would ever want to do that. It's
got to be a part of obviously a contract. Do
you know if you have to do so many post games,
pre games, halftime whatever.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
It's literally first of all who they might request, but
mainly at twoever's playing good. So if like Kat had
a good quarter, they're gonna pick him. But you want
to know, it's funny.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Canul what if he said, can't he say no? Then
everyone say no?
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Yeah, So to so at Portland we have like kind
of a It was in the first quarter and like
we went on a run and then we just started
sloping and like the starting five coach needed them, but
the TV people wanted ab Aliah Boston and coach said no,
like we're talking about something, and so they picked me.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
They're like, all right, so if.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
You gotta go.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
I was like, okay, I'll be your lobby seconds.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
You don't.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
No one's required to do to do anything.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
It's just first of all, who they select, and normally
who they select that they had a good stint of playing,
and ab did, so it makes sense that she they
requested her.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
If I was a reporter, I'd love to have you.
You'd probably cuss on accident and say something insane, not
on national television. I only cuss here, and I've tried
to be better about cussing.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Ugh.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
My mom brought that up to me actually also she
said she was like, you cuss so much. And I
was like so to Sophie and she's like, true, you
guys both well she does do.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Yeah, you're talking about what happened the other night.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
My first tech, which was the dumbest tech ever. So this, oh,
this was the second one. So the whistle blue, the
whistle blue, and she fouled me and like she kind
of hit me right here, like my shoulder, and.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
I probed you.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
I didn't even like mean to I didn't even purposely
do that in the moment, like she just got my
arm and it just like flung and like oh, like
right there, my shoulder.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Oh you're okay, you're you're, you're.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
Your right hand swings around though and hits her in
the back of the head. I'm not saying you did
that on purpose, but like she I can I bet
she thought.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
It right there.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
I could see why someone thinks I did that on purpose.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
But I promise you if if I did that on purpose,
I would have made sure to hit her fucking hard.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Fuck yeah, but congrats on your first tee.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
I should have made it better. Damn.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
That's fine.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
Anywhere worth going is worth going in good boots. Fine
your perfect pair with ta.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Kova's, And honestly, that's saying kind of checks out whether
it's a concert, wedding, sporting event, festival, or just a
random weekend where you're trying to add a little giddy
up to your get up.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
I swear by this because a good pair of boots
just changes the whole vibe.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
And that's what I love about Tacoba's.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Their boots are handcrafted with over two hundred steps, so
they feel broken in and right out of the box.
Speaker 4 (10:55):
And it's not just boots. To Cova's has amazing apparel, belts, wallets,
and leather goods too. Everything feels premium and made to last.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
And if you've never been to the covid store, you're
doing it wrong. Free drinks, boot shines, personalized boot branding.
It's honestly an experience right now.

Site for details to covis point your TOES West game
against Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
How do we feel?
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Like I said this was a this is a big game.
We're on a two game losing streak.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Alanta is very good. They have Ryan Howard who is
a phenomenal player.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
They have Alsia Gray who are their top two players,
two guards who can shoot the crap out of the
ball very fast.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Very Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
They're six and two, second place in the WNBA, which
we were there two games ago, your second place.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Now we're ninth.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Things can change really fast, and they it's Angel Reesa's
first year being down there. She's a heck of a rebounder,
and so it's gonna be a good test for us.
But I think we actually kind of match up pretty
well to them.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
So okay, yeah, yeah, I don't know, but it's at home.
Yeah yeah, at home. I think, what do you what
do you guys call the arena again?
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Game? Bridge? The bridge? Does anyone say that? No?
Speaker 3 (12:20):
But you can't?
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Cool? Sounds good. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
I think the keys tonight is like clearly not letting
them go completely off. But it's also like their role players.
If their role players start going off, that's where they
win their games. Like they got to contain them the
I know, I don't know. You have to think about
those three, but can't let the other ones go off,
so it should be a good game.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
I don't know when you say role player, do you
mean like the fourth and fifth best starter or do
you mean the bench that because I actually it's interesting
that you say that. Great point.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
So I think everyone has like a big two or
like a big three. They're actually their main post player
is out. She I think she's out for the season,
she heard herself. I think during pre season or during
training camp, which is sad.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Because she's really and Angel plays a four, then I.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Think she's their five. She's there five. I think really
you have to contain her boxing out. But they're big
two that you really can't let go off is Ryan
Howard and Alicia Gray.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Like those are there, They've been the faces of Atlanta.
But bringing in Joan Reeson gives them a different.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
A different look, I would say. And so those big three,
like you have to guard them and do their thing.
But role players, I would say, yes, would be like
there the other two players on the court and then
their bench, like they have probably four other people that
you have to make sure that you know what they do.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
You have to know your personnel. You have to lock
them up and not let them get hot.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
And so if you can do that.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
But again, Alanta is very good. So tonight it will
be a great test for us.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Let's go Fieve to get back on Let's get back
on track, Fieve.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
We need to big time, big time. But you have
a big coming up tonight. Maybe games talk about it,
talk about it. Updated turn up.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Uh Okay, So we were the two seed. I think
I think eight teams made it.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
So we played a first round game last week, which
I was gone for but everyone held it down.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Parely was close. We walked it off. That's scary.
Speaker 4 (14:22):
Shouldn't have to do that against the seven seed. And
then tonight because I think the Summer League start soon.
They do semifinals and championship on the same uh same day,
so eight thirty semifinals and then if we win that,
then we move on to the finals. So it's a
lot of it's a lot of ball. But we won
(14:46):
a year ago this season, so it was last spring. Yeah,
we won it all and I'll never forget winning the
semis game. No one celebrated like Kobe mindset, like job's
not finished and then just you guys locked in, Yeah, because.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
You got one more game to go. So everyone. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:02):
The group text, the group text is buzzing today. A
lot of shitty sports, motivational YouTube videos, quotes, AI memes
like it.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Maybe to bring that in the Fever group chat, maybe
we need a little little inspo.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Let's see, like what the last thing sent was someone
made a playlist this morning. I mean, everyone's really ready
to go. It's also a beautiful day. It's also a
beautiful day in New York City.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
But I will say it's a kind of funny, like
Amanda is making fun of me. We like care so
much about like our lineup and where people are playing
and stuff. But once you get to playoffs, it's it's
really fun to like talk with everyone in the group, chat,
like set a lineup and like place everyone because, like
(15:49):
I've said a hundred times, it's co ed, so like
you have to have so many like girls have to
kick every three kicks. Yeah, and you have to have
so many girls on defense.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
And so wait, is Amanda of the team.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
No, it's this is like these are like my We've
had this team for like three years and everyone comes back.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Everyone resigns for the most part.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Yeah. Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
So I would say you put your most stud girl
at first, because it's like it's like just rip, it's.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Like boom, boom boop, like boom and boom.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
And then a lot of teams have a girl picture
girl catcher, and then we put we have another stud
girl named Una, shout out Una, who plays second.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
Well, I was gonna say kind of having a girl
catcher could be dangerous.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Because people are running it, running it home.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Well, and I feel like they have to like make
a move on the fly. Sometimes, Yeah, everyone's got to
be locked in. And I think having her name's Una Una, yeah,
shadowy not be on first, but she's a stud. I
feel like first needs to be a.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Badass first and second stud.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Oh, oh first is good to got.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Usually it's Reagan. Tonight it's gonna be Colby. Okay, all studs,
and I think all three of them played sports at college.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
Then you're fine. I'm thinking I don't know this. Then yeah,
you're fine.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
Yeah what was they gonna say? Look something out Kickbaul?
Who fucking knows?
Speaker 3 (17:19):
But wait, do you like stretch before?
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Great question.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
I've pulled hamstrings in this league, and I I always
say it's lame to stretch before, to be like the
guy stretching and doing warm ups. But it's more lame
to be the guy who shows up to work on
Monday and is like, I literally pulled my hamstring at
coed kickball?
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Dude, can I just say my ankle? Yeah, Like, I
honestly think that it is. I'm getting to the age
where you have to stretch.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
I always add like, oh, I'm fine, Like I'm but like,
I am literally getting to the age where you have
to stretch.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
keV is mister pulled hamstring himself. Look at it, really, dude.
Speaker 6 (18:06):
I go when I go to play ball, I feel
half an hour early just to stretch it out. I
do all my weird wa.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
You have to.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
Andrew will be like, oh, I'm lead for work today,
so I just hops straight into dead lifts in my
back hurt.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
I'm like, yeah, yeah, it was great.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
We do it anymore.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
We're all so yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:24):
I would say, honestly, most of this team is there
fifteen minutes early, like doing Palaestonnis. I might tell, I might,
I might tell, I might send a text it says
no beer tonight after because sometimes sometimes people are drinking
in the dugout. You know.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
I feel that. But do they play better? So they
are a little a little buzzed.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
I'm worse buzzed.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Yeah, okay, can we talk about this. Yeah, there are
so many people. I wouldn't say so many people. But
on the NBA side, I know there is that like
play high, but they're better.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
I I I couldn't get you you playing basketball high?
Speaker 6 (19:04):
I so you It's funny. I like to get a
nice little buzz when I hit the court, but I
always do realize my second half is better than my
first halfs I think my first ALB.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Yeah, I don't understand it, Like I just don't get
how people aren't sober playing.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
I had teammates in college who would practice high, like
a full fucking twenty four period d one football practice high,
and I was like, how the fuck do you even
make it through warm ups? I like, I just it's
so it's fascinating. But there are people who like, really
(19:38):
like to function well, like I think you just like
being high.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
I don't know. I okay, I'm not that way, but holy.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Fuck, okay, but my thing is like if you, first
of all, if you need that to function, you probably
should see someone respectfully, Like there's more going on to
the story. And I feel like sometimes it people start
doing it because of the environment they're in and who
they're hanging around, and it's not like you don't have
to conform to whatever everyone else is doing, because like, yeah,
(20:06):
I just don't I don't get it.
Speaker 4 (20:07):
I don't get there are people like I think I'm
I'm thinking of one person in particular who is in
my position group. So I was with him, yeah every
day for four years. If he's from that like from
southern California, like he's been smoking.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
His whole life. I think that he just like is
feels sharper.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
High.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
And I don't I don't know what that's like, because
certainly that is not the case. Well that's what I'm saying.
I believe I.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Would say like it for ninety nine percent of the
people that that does not make you sharper like I.
We talk about this on the plane ride and we're
all like, how do people because I feel like people
would be idiots.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
Didn't you tell me that you think you played better
hungover once?
Speaker 3 (20:52):
No, I think in college. I I don't think you
get really hung over in college.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
And I don't really like I don't condone this, condone this,
but like I think we were all out of a
concert or something the night before, and like we had
to you had to lock in, like you and I wasn't.
I wasn't like hammered. I don't think I was like hungover,
but I was out. I was definitely out.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
But I knew I had to lock in because like
they knew that I was out, and I got in
trouble because I was actually going to a oh my gosh.
So it was a Somo concert. Do you remember Somo
see like R and B.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
So it was a Somo concert and like all my
high school friends and everyone in college was going, and
I went.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
I actually wasn't. I didn't drink. I actually really didn't, but.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
I was out late and they found out and I
was like, okay, but I wasn't drinking, like but you
still miss curfewed, and so I knew I had to
like lock lock in, and so then I played good
anytime you walk in.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
I got suspended my senior year for going to when
Montana State played Montane in basketball. I went with like
six other dudes to Missoula or the University Montana's and
everyone drank before, but like three of the guys were
like fucked up, and we were sitting right behind like
school like faculty and administration and stuff, and they're kind
(22:17):
of being like the student section obviously was like booing
us and like doing shit where they were like giving
it back. And it was my senior year and everyone
else was like junior, sophomore or whatever, and I guess
it was like a really bad look and I got
it was spring ball, so.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
It didn't really matter. It was like winter conditioning, but
I got to spend it on a Monday for the
rest of the week and I couldn't go to anything.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
I think that I think that's what it was, is
like at the end of the day. First of all,
you're in college. But I got in trouble war because
it was like a bad look and I broke the
bad book the curfew, and I.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Was like, okay, but I could have been I could
have been out out, you know what I mean, And
I wasn't. So I tried to plead my case and
then I went.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
And she could have been shaking her ass until three
am and she wasn't good a bit.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
Yeah, but I had a I locked in, so it's fine. Whatever.
Fuck yeah, college.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
College, Yep, the best. All right, we have one more topic,
so exciting.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Okay, not to be dramatic, but my Ja Love headphones
have basically become a personality trade at this point.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
They are on twenty four to seven and.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
Somehow the battery just refuses to quit, Like I keep
waiting for mine to run out, and they're just like,
now we're good and let's talk.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Sound.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
These are super clear, crisp, and plenty loud.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
I use the over the earpair on flights, and I'm
telling you game changer great for listening to your favorite podcast.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
So whether you're locked in at the gym or vibing
out to your favorite song, they've got something for.
Speaker 4 (23:41):
You headphones, earbuds, wireless speakers, and more. You get premium
features without paying premium prices.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
Look for the Blue Box at Walmart, Target, best Buy,
and more, or use code something on j love dot
com for twenty percent off your order. The second part
of the reunion dropped, Yeah, wasn't much deep, like I
think the first one was. I didn't really think anything
of the second one, like like antichrimatic.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
I was like, oh man, that that's that is thank
you for that. I love hearing that. Yeah, well did
you see that?
Speaker 4 (24:16):
Everyone said that because I went to a wedding in
Italy with Amanda Evyane's like they're fleeing the country.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
What does that mean?
Speaker 2 (24:24):
They're free?
Speaker 4 (24:24):
But I do what it means, but like they're cops
behind us as we were driving driving to the airport, like, oj,
we're hitting the country.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Can you just not go to a wedding though? Like
do you have to be flinging the country?
Speaker 2 (24:39):
Yeah? No, I don't. I mean people obviously said that before.
I think they knew that there was a wedding. But
it's just like, also, whoever took the picture of us in.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
Customs in the customs line at the Rome Airport, I
know exactly what you look like.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
I know exactly what you looked like. Blonde woman, she
walked through like this with her she did like this
the whole time.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Wait, I did see that photo.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
Uh, it's like it's like us standing with backpacks like
about to like it's so stupid.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Wait is this the Italy wedding you just got back from?
Speaker 2 (25:10):
Huh what?
Speaker 3 (25:13):
And people are flaying the fleeing the country.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
But also yeah, it was like my cousin got married.
Speaker 6 (25:21):
So I went I did see a funny I wish
I could find I found a funny post. First of all,
the fucking photos of you guys, like in every spot
of Italy is like insane that are on the internet.
Someone's like Wes West made Amanda pick.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Up the tab at this restaurant. I was like, oh, dude,
well it it probably was true.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
We yeah, I don't know where we were. Wait, that's
fucking crazy. They watched your use your credit card. I
handled the flights in the hotels? Motherfuckers?
Speaker 2 (25:47):
How's that sounds okay to split?
Speaker 3 (25:50):
Especially if your your woman is making money too, Like, yeah,
I mean.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
We've talked about this before, but I grew up in
a house for my family. Split the fucking bills.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Yeah, wait, no, here's my only question. Yep, this is
literally my only question. Is when when Amanda walked off
the stage.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
Oh yeah, the Amanda getting up part. I knew, like
I knew it was gonna look bad, but we talked before.
We were like, Okay, I think it's gonna be annoying
as fuck for everyone there if we say that, if
we like use the word we the whole time, because
like we have individual relationships friendships with all these people,
like answer, we should answer for ourselves. It's not speak
(26:33):
for each other, because that would just be I just
think that's a fucking corny ass look to like try
to like play the WI card the whole time. And
we agreed like like hold it down as individuals, and
so she got up, I was like, one of us
needs to be on the stage because also.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Again, if I would have left.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
Right away and then we were both gone, then they're like, oh, ever,
these two people who are the reason we're upset, both left,
Like I think that would have looked mad, fucking soft
if we're being honest. So yeah, and like I wish
a man didn't necessarily get up, but she had to
take a break, that's fine.
Speaker 6 (27:13):
What is.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
The break part or just the reunion.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
Or what every Yeah, like the reunion and getting up part.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
She agreed that I should have stayed there so that
she was like she's a big girl. You know she
was gonna go fucking take a sec and come back.
And then you know, I got yelled at enough times,
like I got up, but it would have been weirder
if she got up and then Kyle let like Kyle
almost went like it was just it's just so fucking weird.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
But I didn't want I didn't want them all on
stage without two of us.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
I felt like that's a worse look than her going
like she I knew she was fine, like a lot
of that, and I kind of knew, like I've been
I've done three of these now, like I kind of
know how they're going to go. It's not my style
of conflict or communication, but I mean i'd be lying
(28:07):
if I was like, oh I wasn't prepared for people
to say mean stuff. Yeah, and I think my dating
patterns and dating style do deserve criticism, a lot of criticism.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
But yeah, Like there were some things where I was
kind of like, what are we doing here? I mean
the whole, Like.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
I'm a clout chaser with influencer friends like that everyone
was stuck on. Uh, my main friend group in New
York is made up of zero influencers. I have like
a few influencer friends and have hung out with some
influencers in New York because that's the.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Like career that we all share. But every single one
of my best friends in New York City are friends
I've known since before the show started. Like that was
kind of that part's always confusing to me because I
got I got day one homie Son and the like
(29:08):
cloud chasing part of it. I'm like, wouldn't it most
cloud chasing move be to like date Sierra? That would
clearly benefit me more than any other decision I've ever made,
Like I and yeah, and like the whole, Like I'm
super calculated. Shit, if I was calculated, I would be
in this fucking mess. Like I'm in this mess because
(29:29):
I've made mistakes and like walked around too much, Like I.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
If I if I was calculating and trying to do
the right thing, and then I would have just dated
ser I'm like that that will never make sense to me.
But I, like you said, people are are angry and
have shit to talk, so that's what the union is
for to let them do that. But sometimes I'm.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
Like, what did you guys? Did any if you want
to like stick up for yourself or like say anything,
but you just didn't have the opportunity to say anything
because they just kept going at you guys.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Or I think maybe.
Speaker 4 (30:11):
One day the time will come to like really really
stand up. But like I mean again, I was like, dude,
I did lie to you guys, Like you have every
right to be upset with me.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
I just know like meeting meeting anyone on that level
is not one, It's not natural for me in any capacity.
Speaker 4 (30:33):
Two I I don't think that will ever in my
lifetime be how I yeah, stand up for myself.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Like a real Like it is so clear that unions
are like not what I am made for at all.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
You know, I will say like and tell me your
thoughts here, but like even you were friends with Dara before, Yeah,
like her kind of calling you out on your previous
dating life and all that. Like our talk about that
a little bit, because I think people want to hear
about that. But also are your relationships with other people
(31:13):
in the house are they starting to mend a little
bit behind the scenes, like what is like where is
everybody at or are people still just trying to figure
it out.
Speaker 4 (31:20):
I think the reunion is good for people to just
get shit off their chest, and like I kyleize every
right to be upset, like you mentioned earlier, and then
again we spoke a few weeks later, Like I talked
about last week, I think he had the reunion to
like be angry, and then after that we had like
(31:43):
very civil, swords down conversation.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
And so I do think.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
If it was me, like I think our union would
be helpful to just like get my anger out and
then try to communicate after And like, yeah, I've talked
to like a handful of peoples since, and it's obviously
it's never gonna be as high intensity as a real yeah,
but Darra, I've known her for a long time, so
it obviously it's it hurts a little more to have,
(32:10):
you know, a friend, like really fucking cookie like that
in that moment, but.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
Like, I don't.
Speaker 4 (32:15):
I mean, the one thing I think I've I haven't
run away from my bad like communication style or like
dating history, like it's it has not been clean in
a long time. She's valid for calling me out in
that capacity because like, yeah, I've dated like casually and
(32:38):
hurt people, and so that one did stick out to
me honestly a lot, because I was like, Oh, is
it someone who I've been romantic with and been friends
with and like to have them kind of just give
me the full scope of what that reads like to
someone I guess who's been a part of it in
all fast It's like, yeah, that's yeah, it's a lot
(33:01):
to like take in, especially on that stage. But I
mean I've thought about it probably every fucking day since then,
Like she did, I'm pretty sure because I was like,
what when she said it. She was like, she's said
something about how I talk about getting a lot of
chicks or whatever, And that's the one part I was like,
I don't talk about girls really publicly at all.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
I think that is actually.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
Kind of the problem is that I keep everything kind
of a secret, but I don't think anyone who knows
me to be like, oh, Wes talks about like girl
like getting girls all the time. That's not a part
of my personality at all in my opinion. But in
the heat of all of this, I understand that accusation,
(33:47):
but uh, everything else.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Figure, Yeah, wait are they still Are her and kJ
still together?
Speaker 2 (33:55):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
I saw on the internet that the internet said they aren't,
but I I'm like not super on the internet. Still,
I think she articulated it fairly for the most part.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
You know, I like have a lot of things to
to figure out, so it's all good. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
Wait, so what was everyone's response about like them monetizing
off you guys?
Speaker 2 (34:20):
I didn't really give a fuck. That's what the show is.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
That's what everyone does, like vallad, that's a great point.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
Yeah, that's what everyone fucking does. And like it's to me,
I'm kind of like, oh, if you guys are like
making jokes for money out of it, then like you
seem to be doing sig like okay, so I would
I'm never gonna like cry about someone else making money.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
That's like the whole reason the show exists.
Speaker 6 (34:45):
You know, I will say in Amanda's defense, I kind
of did see your point where she'd be like, I
didn't really get involved in your stuff when you guys
are going through it, I kind of gave you that,
you know, oh that.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
Part that's for them. But yeah, I mean that Carl
and Lindsay had a massive, like like a breakup, you know,
two or three years ago, and I don't think anyone
did commercials for it.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
But I could be wrong.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
So okay, well that's enough of that.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
We'll we'll get you off the hot seat, but good.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Until we got one more, one more week.

You guys, go to talk some headlines fun stuff in
the sports news world. Oh actually I got I got
one little last summer house adjacent headline for you here.
Surf Lodge has announced Popeyes is their official chicken tender
partner for the summer. So Summer's upon us, Popeyes Bounty
headed to the Hamptons. How you guys feeling about that?
Speaker 4 (36:47):
So, Sophie, just for the like for clarity, surf Lodge
is the now where you guys always go not on
the show, but we go.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
On like Sundays after we're done.
Speaker 4 (37:00):
Oh okay, okay, it's just the scene spot like it's
to get a table is like probably fucking nine million dollars.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
I don't even know, well, because I hear people talk
about it. I think I've heard you talk about it
or something.
Speaker 4 (37:11):
Probably, but the they're no, Like this is why I'm confused.
I mean no, Popeyes probably threw them a million dollars,
but they were already known for their in house chicken strips,
so they bring out like a tower chicken strips fries.
But so now I guess maybe they have to hire
(37:32):
one or two less like frying cooks this summer and
they wait, no, but how do they It's Popeye is
bringing them in, Like, doesn't it to be a Popeye
chicken strip? Doesn't have to be made into Popeyes. I
don't know how this works.
Speaker 3 (37:47):
We're getting down to the nitty gritty, keV What is
going on here?
Speaker 1 (37:50):
Oh hey, I'm not even gonna lie to you though,
And like, I get it if their chicken strips were
already good, Like I can see why this could be sad,
But honestly, popeye is chicken is so good.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
I like all fast food fried chicken so good.
Speaker 6 (38:04):
I remember the Popeyes chicken sandwich was crazy. When they
first dropped their chicken sandwich, everyone was like, yo, this
is the best chicken sandwich. I think Chick fil A
still holds the top ranking, but they're never around on
Sunday when you need them, so for that, I think
Popeye'll be able to bridge the gap.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
It's like, can I say something that is so not
with the majority. I was literally talking about this yesterday.
Chick fil A breakfast I will seek out and I
think it is hands down one of the best, like
fast food breakfasted like all that bit. I'm not I
(38:39):
I don't crave or I'm not necessarily like obsessed with
like their lunch and dinner.
Speaker 4 (38:45):
I think I think Chick fil A is fucking the
most overhyped shit ever. It's a fucking chicken patty on
a biscuit and it's good.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Their mac and cheese is good, and like their chicken
Little Soup is weirdly really good.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
But like I just I think it's over I think
it's over hyped.
Speaker 4 (39:01):
There's not a lot of variety to the menu in
my opinion, like it's like three sandwiches.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
But dude, with their breakfast, I get the hype. The
breakfast is phenomenal, but.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
Like I get that at the airport a handful of times,
oh so good.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
But I'm I'm pop Eyes through and through.
Speaker 5 (39:18):
I think that.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
I think it's good and.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
I know so it's got to go soon.
Speaker 6 (39:21):
So let's do one quick one a reaction to the Knicks,
what you guys are thinking for the rest of the finals,
and three ad reads and y'all are good to go.
I almost lost my voice yesterday at the gin Mills.
Shout the gym Mill, great place to watch the game.
Speaker 4 (39:31):
Wow Upper Western Yeah yeah, mm hmmm. Fun fact I
worked at the gin Mill for one day. I liked
I worked, I brought a resume into the gin Mill
and I served beer for like the private party in
the basement for one night in my back hurt, and
I was like, I gotta find a real job, and you.
Speaker 2 (39:47):
Quit one and done.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
Yep, dude, I think I think this is going to
be a phenomenal series. Like that was a great game.
A great game.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
I am, Like, I thought I'd move to New York
and be like, Okay, go Giants and Yankees. I don't
give a fuck about them.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
I do.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
I kind of hate the Yankees obviously, but I think
the Knicks are so fun and good for New York
City and like their fans give me college feel like
the fact that I don't know, like there's so many
people outside MSG, Like the Knicks are so.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
Good for the NBA and so good for New York.
Speaker 4 (40:29):
I in coming off of ten years or is just
like whatever fucking team Lebron was on playing the Warriors
in the finals. I think it's so cool to have
the Knicks with like an average height point guard and
like a good like as we were talking about earlier,
like role player, Like it's so cool to have two
(40:51):
non hatable teams in the oh.
Speaker 3 (40:52):
I know it but just like the first of all,
they can never take Victor out.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
I know he needs a break, but when they took
him out, that's where and the next one on there
like little like run I think in the in the fourth,
but it was, oh my gosh, like it is just
the matchup is so good and you're right, like I
think everyone kind of gets annoyed with like Knicks fans,
but at least they're fans, like at least they're they're
true through and through, and I like, you have to
appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (41:18):
In my Bleacher Report days, I got so fatigued from
doing NBA events because I was like everyone in these
arenas are rich dudes with fucking colored shirts on or
people like our girls with bbls or girls with bbls
wearing like Jordan's and Knicks fans like really want them
to win. It's not it's not for the scene. It's
(41:40):
not to like say, I went to a fucking NBA game.
They like love the Knicks and I think that's beautiful.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Yeah, and then the Spurs like they just haven't been
there in so long and just like they're young bucks
and they just work hard, they play hard.
Speaker 3 (41:53):
Victor's of how Monster.
Speaker 4 (41:55):
How many NBA markets do you think have people like
climbing street holes when they win playoff series?
Speaker 2 (42:03):
I don't. I truly don't think there's a lot.
Speaker 4 (42:05):
I think it's like the Knicks, Celtics, no one in
LA to be honest, maybe Lakers, but like I just
I don't think.
Speaker 3 (42:13):
There's Last year.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
Pace was last year it was like Poppin' it was fun,
like it was it turned the city up, And I
think that is so fun that sports can do that
and like bring a whole freaking state together, Like that's
that's badass. Here's my take real quick is I have
more friends on the Knicks, and so I'd really love
to see them get a championship. But for some reason,
(42:37):
I also I would love to see Pop get one
more just because of all his health issues, Like he's not.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
He's not the coach, but he's still like around and
like yeah, yeah, we love it.
Speaker 1 (42:51):
And but Victor and them just being so young and
them coming together, Like I think it's gonna be cool
to see either team win.
Speaker 3 (42:58):
But I think I have more friends on the Knicks,
so I think I would.
Speaker 4 (43:01):
Nick's winning Game one in San Antonio. I think probably
Nixon seven seven or Spur. I think it'll go seven.
I think the Knicks winning Game one in San Antonio
is is pretty big for the series.
Speaker 2 (43:17):
I don't know if he'll finish it, but that's like,
that's huge for them. They've had fucking lost They've lost
like three games. It's whole fucking playoffs, dude.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
So I mean, I agree with that, but I think
they're just so good that you know the Spurs are
gonna get one in the garden.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
Yeah, but I also.
Speaker 4 (43:40):
Winby played like ass last night. He's not gonna he
won't do that every single game.
