Daniel Cormier IS BACK with a brand new DC Show, this time breaking down UFC superstar Alex Pereira and the potential announcement TODAY of who the heavyweight star will be fighting next. DC believes that his next fight will be at heavyweight, but still feels that Alex would be A PROBLEM at 205 if he was to choose a fight between a top contender or Champion like Carlos Ulberg or Khamzat Chimaev if he chooses to move up a division. DC also speaks on Dana White and the UFC going forward with the Josh Hokit and Ciryl Gane fight, and why he doubles down on that being the fight to make. Plus, DC reacts to Nina Drama and the UFC's viral post about Dana announcing Alex's fight Saturday night around UFC 332, and why he believes the next fight will likely still be at heavyweight. #Volume

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Let me tell you about this new sports trade app.
It's called Polymarket. It's the best way to trade all
things sports. So in the past, if you wanted action
on the game, you'd have to put some money in.
And if your team was doing well and you wanted
to cash out, they'd either lock the trade or they
would take a huge fee. But Polymarket is a prediction market. Essentially,

(00:27):
it's a stock exchange for sports. You get to buy
in and you get to.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Sell on your own terms. Say your team goes down 20%.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Well, you buy in and then you sell it off
at 40% when they come back and you double your money.
Polymarket is simply the best prediction market. And they're so
confident that they predict you'll never go back to the
other guys and the old way. They're going to give
you $ 50 free when you deposit just 10.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Let me tell you something. That is confidence. with the
Polymarket team.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
So use my code DCMMA.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
They've even launched a new feature.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
It's called Squads, where you can see what everybody else
is doing at Polymarket. Download the Polymarket app today. Use
my promo code DCMMA when you sign up. We'll give
you $ 50 free. When you deposit, only $ 10 to start.
Go now, like right now.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Daniel! Go, baby!

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Welcome to a brand new episode here at the Daniel
Cormier Show brought to you by Total Wireless, the official
mobile service provider of UFC. Real UFC fans need unlimited
5G data that won't tap out. Real fans need real unlimited.
So guys, I'm in Salt Lake City, Utah at the

(01:51):
wonderful Little America Hotel. And, uh, I was thinking about
the heavyweight title fight and Alex Pereira and his insistence
that he would get a rematch.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Alex Pereira is powerful. If you don't believe that.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Alex Pereira carries a cachet about himself, a power with him,
you have not been to a UFC fight.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
When Alex Pereira got on Herb Dean.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
For the way that he stopped the fight and allowing
Cyril Gunn to hit him behind the head, at least
what he thought was a whole bunch of shots behind
the head, it has completely changed the way people react
and respond to Herb Dean. Herb Dean, for a long time,
since John McCarthy left, was the referee that when he

(02:44):
was announced, people would cheer because he was the most
recognizable name in officiating. Now he gets drowned out in booze.
It is starting to fade a little bit. But it
was like really bad after the White House card. Pereira
was just kind of attacking him constantly. So Alex carries

(03:06):
a lot of power with him, with his name, and
justifiably so with what he has done. His popularity, his
fighting style, showing up for the company, X, Y, and Z.
So he was insistent that he should fight for the
belt right now. But as you guys know, Josh Holkett
versus Cyril Ghosn will be fighting for the heavyweight championship

(03:27):
in Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Amazing.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
That was the fight that I was calling for because
I was of the belief that Alex should fight someone
else before he gets another opportunity at the heavyweight title.
I know that Josh Hokett has come at me. I
know that Josh Hokett can be a bit much, but
I believe that if you're moving on from Tom Aspinall
right now, he's walking away from the title. I believe

(03:50):
that Josh Hokett should be some part of the next
heavyweight title fight. I left Washington, D.C., if I'm being
completely honest, thinking maybe... Light heavyweight was the limits at
which he should be competing because he looked a little smaller.
While he may have weighed more than Cyril Ghosn, his
frame just didn't look as big as Cyril Ghosn. And

(04:13):
when you're a power guy, size is very important. Pereira
didn't seem to have that at the White House. Anyhow,
Dana White said when asked about why Pereira is getting
the title fight, He said, look, we saw what that
fight looks like. We believe that Josh Hokett is the

(04:34):
guy that deserves to have a title opportunity and fight
for the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
We make fights based on star power? I don't know.
That's what I'm asking you. We make fights based on
who is the best in the world. I kind of agree.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
But in saying that, it leads people to wonder what
next for Peraritan because he is the biggest star or
one of the biggest stars in the whole organization. So
Nita Drama, as Dana, how many comments for you to
announce on my stream? What's next for Poetan? Look, Again,

(05:07):
Poiton has power. Poiton has cachet. People walk through the
turnstiles to go and watch this dude fight.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Right?

Speaker 2 (05:15):
They show up for Pereira. Every single time he fights,
it's sold out. He's a massive headliner. Dana probably thinks
up an absurd number of people to try to put
it out there.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
31,000 comments. Not likes, guys. Not likes.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Dana said, give me 25,000 comments. This video is at
31,000 comments. So tonight we will learn what's next for Policom.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Here's where. I, Daniel, who have nothing to do with
Alex Pereira's career.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
He has been always generous with us at Daniel Cormier's show,
with his time.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
He's always been fun.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I would consider Alex and I to have a great relationship, right?
It's always been very pleasant whenever I come into contact
with Poiton.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
We've had some truly viral videos from the pranks to
the kicks.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Oh! That's why we choose always Russell Takedown. I would
say we've developed a bit of a friendship. I believe, again,
I believe that Pereira should fight at 205. I believe

(06:31):
that he should fight at 205. I think that that's
the sweet spot for Alex Pereira. I think heavyweight's big.
I think 185 is like killing him to make the weight.
I think 205 is that sweet spot where he can
ultimately max out his powers. Now, there's a video of
Pereira hitting the bag. Luis, play the video.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Look at the power.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
When you hit like that, I can understand where Alex
is going. Why should I ever have to cut weight
again in my life? He hits so hard. He's got
so much power. Obviously, he has amazing technique. He's a
kickboxing world champion.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
He has all the.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Skill and ability to be as good as he wants
in any weight class he wants. But there are weight
classes for a reason. I think heavyweight is like right
at that limit. of probably where he shouldn't be. I mean,
Cyril Gunn is as big as he is, but he's
also a guy that his whole life he's been a heavyweight.

(07:34):
Cyril Gunn said before him and Alex fought last time
that the last time he weighed 185 pounds, he was
like 13th. 13th. We saw Poetown making that weight a
few years ago. Now, I could be completely wrong. And
I do believe that Alex does have the potential to
become a heavyweight world champion. But I also believe like Islam, right?

(07:54):
170 is as high as he can go. There was
talk a while ago about maybe Islam can go to 180.
He can't go to 185.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
He's too small.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Islam used 100% of what he was in that last
fight to beat Ian Gary.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Because Ian Gary's so big. And then the next guy
he's going to fight, he's going.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
To have to use 100% of who he is in
order to beat that person.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Because they're just big.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
And size does matter in fighting, in wrestling, in any
combat sport. Size does matter at a particular point, especially
when you start getting to the elite of the elite
in that division. So I guess today we find out
what happens next for Poletarn. I guess I'm hoping it's 205.
I doubt it, though, because, again, look at this dude

(08:41):
cracking the bag. When you crack the bag with that power,
you hit somebody clean. Heavyweight, light heavyweight, middleweight, all the
way up and.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Down, wherever. He'll knock them out. He just hits that hard.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
I'm excited to see what's next for Poiton because while
the heavyweight title fight is going to be explosive because
Josh Hogan is going to Josh Hogan and Cyril Ghosn
is going to do what Cyril Ghosn does. Whether you
love him or you hate him, what Cyril Ghosn does
is that dude wins. He knows how to win. He
knows how to fight. He knows how to compete at

(09:18):
the highest level. That's why he's got so many chances
at the UFC championship. He's an amazing fighter. And we
will see if Josh Hokit is ready for that level
of fighter so fast in his career. Guys, it wasn't
long ago that Hokit was fighting on the Contender Series.
He's already found himself as the number one contender for
the UFC Heavyweight Championship. It is insane to think how

(09:41):
quick he has moved through the UFC Heavyweight rankings.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
It's nuts.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
It's nuts. Hey, so Polymarket is our new betting sponsor
here at the channel. And so we do these picks.
But Polymarket's like a stock exchange. So I wrote some
stuff down for you guys, UFC 332. I've got a
combo for you.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
All right? We're calling it, that's what we call it
here at Polymarket. We call it a combo.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
So on this combo here, it's a yes or a
no on the odds and the percentages of said bet.
So for me, I got Natalia Silva versus Wong Kong.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Wong Tong, guys, by the way, Wong Tong.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Is going to be decision. I will take it yes.
That's market value. I'm going yes on Silva versus Tong
by decision. Figueredo Talbot, a knockout.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Guys, take the yes on that. I believe that this
fight ends in a knockout.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
And Rebovitz versus Green, 51% that this fight ends in knockout.
I think that's a fair market value. I'm taking a
yes on that one, too. So that's three yeses. I
got Silva's long-term decision. I got Figueredo versus Talbot by knockout.
I got Rivas versus Green by knockout.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
All right, guys. So, again, that's Silva versus Tong by decision. Yes.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Rebovich versus Green by knockout, yes. Figueiredo versus Talbot, that's
also a yes. So go to Polymarket right now. They're
so confident in their markets, guys, that they're going to
give you free $ 25 on your first trade when you
deposit only $ 10 by using my promo code DCMMA. Go
to Polymarket right now, guys. Go right now and watch

(11:28):
Nina Drama's stream tonight. Let's see what's next for Poetown. Guys,
until next time, like, subscribe, and tell your friends I've got.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
A YouTube channel. And let's watch Nina Drama's stream tonight
to see what's next for Poetown. Peace.
