are fantastic because you can still use sugar.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
No, I like sugar.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
You know I do too. It's not good for you,
but I you know either, is.

the news.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
This is the Herdline news.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
All right, it's Mitchell Robinson. Update time.
Speaker 8 (02:19):
You know.
Speaker 6 (02:19):
The word on the street right now is he has
expected to be available for the.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
Next to night.
Speaker 6 (02:24):
You see him here at shoot around working kind of
sort of effortlessly.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
But Colin, some more information has come out.
Speaker 6 (02:30):
So initially, remember they called it a pinky, a broken pinky, right,
They have now adjusted it to a fifth metacarpal bone
in his right hand.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
And Brian Windhorse too.
Speaker 6 (02:41):
We both though, say, you know, I'm not saying he
punched anything, but this is a boxer's injury, the metacarpol.
So you and I kind of joked yesterday. Clearly he
was upset about something and clearly hit something and broke
a bone in his hand. Not great, but he's expected
to be available and play. I know he's only a
fourteen minute a game guy, but he's one of the
(03:03):
best shot blockers in the league for thirty six minutes
and you know you could use him, Colin. This has
to be just disheartening. He's if he's like a non
factor and unable to play as a letdown because he
couldn't keep his emotions in check. On the eve of
the Knicks first final trip since you know, before the
internet existed.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
Yeah, he matters.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
I mean he's a he's a rebounding force and a
defensive player. I mean the good news is Og is
a big body, three and D guy. I mean, he'll
he can do a lot. Og is really valuable in
a series like this because he's got some dexterity.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
I'm going to take the Spurs and six.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
I got Nicks and six. We're on opposite side.
Speaker 6 (03:49):
I'm not putting a jet Ski on this. Just for
the record, No, no, no, no. To a week ago.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
I mean after that game was Saturday night, I kind
of liked the Knicks and then more I thought about
it that I heard about this injury. I mean San
Antonio since February first, you know, let's be honest, it's
a young team October, November, December, January, they just they're
just growing. But since February, like they've kind of defined
(04:15):
what they are.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
I can't wait.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Last eleven games. Best team in the league, New York knickerbucket.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Well, let's who have they?
Speaker 4 (04:22):
You know, the Sixers who they haven't played?
Speaker 3 (04:24):
They haven't played.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
They've played two close games in all of May, two
like it matters.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
They have not been battle tested. They have not been
in close games.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Now, they're a good fourth quarter team regardless, but they
they they have not been in a lot of tight games.
So in Santa who's got a coaching edge here tonight
or in the series.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
They're both good, They're both fine.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
Excuse me, Mike Brown doesn't have the coaching edge.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
He's been a head.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
Coach way longer.
Speaker 6 (04:51):
He's been in many more high leverage games I assistant
or head coach.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
I think good is good.
Speaker 4 (04:57):
Yeah, some respect on his name. All right, let's go
to the NFL.
Speaker 6 (05:01):
Colin And obviously he's been a big week in the NFL,
including your guy Caleb Williams getting on the cover of Madden. However,
people are wondering, is rome A. Dunza going to be
able to step up and be the number one with
DJ Moore in Buffalo?
Speaker 1 (05:18):
I think Colston Loveland's going to be their number one
close to the tight end. Yeah, I think he's their
number one target. I think a tight end can be
a number one target.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
I think he is.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
I think Brock Bowers for the Raiders is their number
one target. I think I think Colston Lovelin is the
number one target.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
It's not a receiver.
Speaker 6 (05:36):
Well at Dunze's confident he could be the guy. You've
also got Luther Burden, he twitched up receiver. Who can
I mean, he's really he's nice.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
No, he's Luther Burden. Again, think about this. You're Caleb Williams.
You come in and you know Roma Dunze got banged up.
Colston Loveland, Luther Burden did not. So I think a
lot of it for a young quarterback is who can
I rely on? And so you know, I mean Josh Allen,
he can rely on Dawson Knox and Kinkaid. He hasn't
(06:04):
been able to rely necessarily consistently on wide receivers.
Speaker 6 (06:08):
Rights Shakers was their leading guy guy. Yeah, but I
mean I think when I look at Chicago's offense, it's
a run first offense because Caleb can move with a
very a pair of very good tight ends. I don't
think I think Dj Moore was a low end one.
I think Luther Burdens more of a two. I think
Roma Dunze is more of a two. And I don't
(06:31):
think that's a criticism. I think I think Colston Lovelin
is going to be a you know again, health being crucial,
but Colston Lovelin is going to be a five time
pro bowler. He's a very elite. Oh, I think he's
an incredibly elite player.
Speaker 8 (06:46):
All right.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Jim Harbough products right out in Michigan. That's what he's doing.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
All right.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
Let's go to the final story, Collin.
Speaker 6 (06:52):
That's the New England Patriots and Josh McDaniel's boy. He
seems very excited to get Aj Brown in the building.
I mean, listen, this quote seems a little hyperbolic, but
it is June Colin. Josh McDaniels is now saying he
hasn't seen anyone play with this kind of force since
maybe Gronkowski. Now we know Aj Brown is tough off
(07:12):
the catch, tough to tackle. I mean, they'll get a
big hands. He's strong, kind of a tank. But I
mean that is high praise. Gronk is on the shortlist
of greatest tight ends in the history of football. Oh.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Go the other day, I don't know where I saw this.
I saw a Gronk highlight package. I don't know where
I saw this. It must have been on TikTok or something.
It looks cartoonish. Gronk looks like that high school kid
that's sixs five with a mustache, and he's just running
over all the sophomores. I mean AJ Brown, that's one
(07:45):
of the that's one of the things about the Philadelphia experiment.
Think about this, So you have a great o' line,
you have Sakuon Barkley, so linebackers can't cheat. They have
to be close to the D line. You're gonna have
a big gap between linebackers in safeties, and your tight
ends are more than capable.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
You have Davonte Smith.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
How in the world was Aj Brown not a thirteen target,
ten catch guy a game?
Speaker 3 (08:13):
He is going to explode.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Now, Hunter Henry's a good tight end for New England,
but they don't have a Saquon Barkley. That offensive line
in Philly's much better than New England. AJ Brown is
going to have huge numbers, and he's a massive matchup
problem because I mean, I don't know how big what
is he six four and a half six four to
six five. There's just not many corners that match up
with him.
Speaker 6 (08:34):
But the problem, the reason he didn't have like thirteen
hundred yards is because the Eagles didn't need that.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
The defense was incredible.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
We'll play keep away from your offense and the defense
will set you down. We're fine winning games twenty to seven.
We're not needing to outscore you. And when they did
the Super Bowl against the Chiefs, the first one, Brown
had a huge game. I remember because I bet at
MVV he caught an early bomb. I was like yeah baby,
and then Jalen Hurts just took over and people loaded
up on Brown.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
You really think he's gonna put up big numbers.
Speaker 6 (09:03):
I know, Medish's has had some good first seasons with
new quarter wide receivers in the.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Fold well, and the other thing to remember, you're in
a division with Buffalo that has DJ Moore and really
good offensive skill people. So you're gonna have to win
some shootouts. That's the reality of New England schedule. Go
look at put New England's schedule up. They're facing a
lot of high powered offenses.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
They're gonna have.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
To throw the I mean, just think about this. JSN
at Seattle. Pittsburgh's offensive personnel is pretty good. Jacksonville, Buffalo, Chicago,
Green Bay Lions, Chargers, Bills, Vikings personnel, Chiefs, Broncos, Gary Pate.
They're facing like nine of the best offenses in the NFL.
(09:45):
So New England's defense isn't Houston or Seattle. I'm not
gonna shut people down. New England's going to be in
shootouts a dozen times this year. They're gonna be in
a high scoring thirty three to twenty seven games to
make I just.
Speaker 6 (10:00):
Think of Rabel's DNA and he seems like a conservative
run first guy. And if you remember, AJ Brown didn't
put up massive numbers with Tennehill.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
He was just really good and they had no other
options here.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
AJ Brown's only six one and a half. He plays
way bigger. He is two twenty six.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
He plays big, he's rocked up. Yeah, he's a big gay.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
Yeah it's I don't play fantasy football.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
I bet games. If I was a fantasy football player,
AJ Brown would be because you don't know how good
Kyler Murray's gonna if you had to pick you know,
if you had to pick a wide if you've played
fantasy football, Jamar Chase, you picked because of Joe Burrow.
But they're all line shaky. Justin Jefferson, who's the quarterback?
JJ McCarthy, Kyler Mukay. If you JSN and Darnold JSN
(10:42):
is one of the first guys off the board. But
you start looking around at wide receivers.
Speaker 6 (10:46):
Well, I mean that the problem with with the Patriots
is they spread it around.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
May does not force feed one guy.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Yeah, but that's because they've never had a once affair counter.
I mean, I think he's one hundred CA. AJ Brown's
gonna be. And the other thing is the psychology. It
is because aj Brown felt overlooked in Philly. You know,
Drake May and Rabel and Josh McDaniel, they're gonna make
sure he knows. You know, they're gonna they're gonna get
the ball. They're gonna go out of their way to
(11:14):
get the ball to win. And also, I think early
in the season you want everybody in the league to
see how much you use it because it'll just open
up the rest of your offense. So they're not gonna
slowly work aj Brown in. They're gonna go to him
fifteen times in the first thing.
Speaker 6 (11:28):
So you think, like the over under, you know, they
set these props for receiving.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
What are the over unders on it.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
I don't know if they're out yet.
Speaker 6 (11:34):
I mean it's only June, but there's no way he's
catching like over seventy five balls.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Oh absolutely, no way, yes he is.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
All right, producers, file this one away.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
We're gonna have to make it another steak dinner, or.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
Maybe we're making a vegan bakery.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Bet Jmack with the news.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Well, that's the news, and thanks for stopping by the line.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
We had We had Lesnie the Rams GM on earlier.
It's always interesting that sometimes, you know, you think some
people think like the Rams.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
You know, they just got.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
A bug and they just said, you know, let's go
out and get Miles Garrett. They've been working on this thing.
It is now June, so they've been working on this
thing since mid March, so mid March to mid April May,
three months, just around three months. The Rams have been
working on this. And they were going to make the
move and not make the move, and they were going
(12:30):
to trade. They didn't want to trade Jared Verse and
they I mean, the key to the Rams is they
don't you know, they don't get boxed in. You know,
it's these deals don't necessarily happen overnight.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
There's stuff constantly. When they drafted Ty.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Simpson, everybody was like, oh boy, Sean McVeigh looked very angry.
Do you think Sean McVeigh didn't know they were drafting
Ty Simpson. They just less Need just out of his pocket,
went Okay, we're taking the quarterback from Bama. That's not
the way the Rams work, That's not the way Philadelphia works.
(13:06):
Howie Roseman is working on next year's draft today. So
we talked to Lessned earlier about the trade for Miles Garrett.
Speaker 8 (13:15):
This occurred in June. We didn't knock on their door
until free agency is over, so you know, this was
this was an opportunity we decided to seize, but it
wasn't something we planned. This is June one. Uh, double
one tendre not intended. We still got Miles to go
before that game. That's kind of how our ecosystem works.
We're well aware that, right, we were close last year.
(13:38):
There's that's evidence that right with Matthew Stafford, with our
core right we can we can contend, but I always
go evidence is the past. Uh, the future is still
the future. We got to go earn that.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
Yeah, you know, the story was in March. They went
out in March.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
This was I think Adam Schefter reported this, and the
Browns changed the bonus structure to Garrett, and that was
the moment they went all right, okay, let's talk about it.
So you just, I mean, listen to all this stuff.
You know, the draft was interesting. There was one team
in the draft I had predicted would move up. I said,
I didn't think we were going to get a ton
(14:15):
of activity moving up because it wasn't a great draft
and there weren't a lot of quarterbacks and the Raiders
were taken Fanana Mendosa, so I didn't see a lot
of activity. But I did say, if a team moves up,
it's going to be the Kansas City Chiefs. And my
take was they've got plenty of players, they don't have
enough high end players, so they're going to move up
and go get either a star back or a star corner.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
And they did. So, you know, they didn't just do
that on a whim.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
They had obviously the Chiefs, Rett Beachs, they'd been thinking
about this for a month. They looked around at the
Seattle Seahawks or the Buffalo Bills, and they're looking around
at Philadelphia and Detroit and the Rams and the Niners
and all these teams with high end players, and they're like,
we got to go get a couple of stars, and
so they went and got Kenneth Walker, who was a
super Bowl dominant player. When you have like twenty seven
(15:01):
carries in Super Bowl, and then we're gonna go get
Delaye the the corner from LSU and there take us.
We need more a players, more difference maker players. Well,
that just didn't happen on a whim less need also
talked about the potential for an Aaron Donald return thing.
Speaker 8 (15:21):
I don't think Aaron's truly been tempted to come back
since he's retired. I do think right the let's call
it the excitement around the Miles Garrett trade. I'm thinking
he's tempted. He's really tempted for the first time. Now,
whether that temptation leads to at leads to you know,
comes to fruition or not, Tom will tell. That's just
(15:42):
how Aaron is. I know this about Aaron Donald. At
his core, he wouldn't come back unless he thought, you
know what, I could really really really help the rams.
That's just how he's.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Well, Yeah, as you age, you want to come back
and it to be really really memorable, fruitful work.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
You don't want it to be pointless work.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
And I think Aaron Donald looks at that and thinks, yeah,
I Kobe Turner, Braden Fisk, Byron Young, poona Ford, Miles Garrett, Yeah,
I can make a difference. Andy Reid's Around the Corner.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
and noone Eastern a em Pacific.
Speaker 6 (16:21):
Eight days in counting until the biggest World Cup ever
comes to America. Christian Polisic and the US men's national
team kick off their World Cup dream on a huge
night of music, stars and celebration in LA on Friday,
June twelfth.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
Coverage begins at six pm Eastern on Fox.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
You know, I see where Caleb Williams gets on the
cover of Madden and people talk about a Madden curse.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
I don't believe in curses, spells.
Speaker 8 (16:48):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
I'm not into psychics. I went funny. I went to
a psychic on vacation.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
I was just.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Walking around and I was just in a you know,
my wife and I I said, oh, I want to
go here just for fun. You know, they don't they
hit on like fifty percent of the stuff, and they
you know, they say stuff that you would like to hear.
Like your children are wonderful. They've got a bright future.
You've got you know, your your retirement's going to be
just better than your life. And you know, I see
(17:14):
very blue skies ahead. And then they'll always give you
a little bit of trouble. Hey, there's somebody named Bob
coming up in your future. Be very careful.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
There's a Ashley Ashley.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
If you run into a woman named Ashley, do not
trust her. Well, I mean, I mean, you know, it'd
be one thing if she said, hey, your sister is
going to rob you blind and drain your ATM, Like
that would be real information.
Speaker 8 (17:41):
They never give you that.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
So I don't believe in curses and psychics. I don't
believe in ghosts. I don't even sure if I believe
in UFOs and UAPs. I'm not really sure. I tend
to think some of our adversaries are ahead of us
on tech. A lot of people were ahead of us
on the on the cell phone, and uh, you know,
no exhaust reverse engineering. Just show me an alien and
(18:06):
I'll be into it. Like, I kind of think there's
a lot of stuff out there, and I wouldn't be
shocked if there was something else out there.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
But I just curses and I don't know. I don't know.
I mean, how many.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Times was Tom Brady on the cover of Madden? Was
he awful the next year? I think a lot of
times they put people on Madden that young players like,
like dynamic, fun players.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
Well the end. Yeah, if you really.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Think about the history of the NFL, it's masonry, it's
hard work, it's tough guys last A lot of the
more formidable players probably are not on the cover of Madden.
How many times was Brady on the cover twice? Was
he awful the next year? I don't think so. I mean,
now there was a stretch where guys were getting hurt.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Well, it's football. Everybody gets hurt.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Nobody's totally healthy after week four, So I mean it's
I am so I all this whole cursed off. I
mean maybe I'm just not generationally like now, I will
say there is astrology is interesting, like, right, you ever
(19:17):
read astrology and you're like, you don't believe in astrology,
you don't believe in any of that stuff. Like it's
funny they always talk about I'm a Capricorn and my
wife's a Capricorn. Jmack, are you a Capricorn and.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
The capricorn and my wife is a Capricorn.
Speaker 8 (19:30):
Yees.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Okay, so a lot of things they say about Capricorn
they're very driven people. Well, I've always been pretty driven person.
My wife's very driven person. But a lot of people
are driven that aren't Capricorn. So is that really about
being a Capricorn or is it about something that I
want to hear about myself that makes me feel good.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
That I'm driven? I mean, it makes it feel you know, yeah,
I'm driven?
Speaker 8 (19:52):
Is I mean?
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Now, I know a lot of Capricorns who are driven, right,
and they say Geminis or two different people, and you know,
there's this sign is more you know, religious, this sign
is more romantic.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
So it sounds like confirmation bias right from that, That's
what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
Yeah, okay, you were born under this moon or that
moon and you're I don't I just I'm one of
those people. I don't think I'm a cynic, but I'm
a non believer in a lot of stuff that everybody
curses and spirits.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
And now there's a guy, my wife, there's a guy.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
On TikTok that you know, he'll go on TikTok he'll
jump into his uber and he'll read into your past.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
Oh yeah, I definitely need that. Oh my gosh, please, I.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
Don't think your past is that interesting. I mean to
be honest with you.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Except for the hoop earrings you wore when you were
twenty that is fascinating. Andy Reid has never worn those
twenty seven years coaching fourteen years in Kansas City. So
what I use your off season just sitting around writing
up gadget plays and trying to I bet you're on
YouTube right now looking to nineteen thirty eight Rose Bowl.
When's the last time you drew up a play?
Speaker 9 (21:04):
Yeah, Eric being in me and I were doing it
this morning, so it's it's all good. We're right in
the middle of these OTAs, so we just got off
the field. And they're always They're always fun to do
because you get to do those type of things. You
get to put stuff in and it might be new
(21:24):
and new wrinkle here there.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
You know, older players.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
A lot of times older players retire, like Aaron Donald
retired at thirty two.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
He was still great, but they don't like the process.
They don't like.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Camp, and I get it, like you know, you know,
I've been doing this show a long time. You've been
coaching a long time. How do you keep it fresh?
Because you do get a new batch of draft picks
every year? How do you keep it fresh for you?
Speaker 9 (21:49):
Yeah, listen, I love doing what I'm doing. I mean,
you're one out of thirty two guys in the whole world.
Speaker 10 (21:54):
And I think the older you get, the more you
appreciate that that you have the opportunity to sit here
in the National Football League again, the highest level there
is of football, and get to coach these guys that
are phenomenal guys. And they all stay the same age, Colin,
We get older, so you know, so they're full energy.
Speaker 5 (22:15):
They bring out the best in you every day.
Speaker 9 (22:18):
They challenge you and keep you as young as you
can be at sixty eight.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Now, you got a couple guys out there, they got
real rich, like Kelsey.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Now you know he's rich and he he could retire.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
And you guys had some discussion at some point you
sat down and you know, he's obviously done well for himself.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Why do you think he came back.
Speaker 5 (22:45):
Yeah, well, it's obviously not for the money. That's not
what it's all about. He's done so well for himself.
That way. I'm proud of him for that.
Speaker 9 (22:53):
That's not an easy thing to do in this league,
and not only as a player, but also having a
profession that he can bank on once he gets done,
and arguably is marrying the most famous woman of the
world and a sweetheart at that. So he's sitting here
and he wants to play. That's what he wants to do.
(23:17):
And he didn't want to end on what we did
last year. That's not where he wanted to finish his career.
So he was all in right from the get go
after the season ended, and I appreciate that with him,
that how much he loves to play the game. There's
one thing though, He's a great player, but the heart,
man is unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (23:38):
He just this guy wants to play.
Speaker 9 (23:41):
Every snap, every practice snap, every game snap competitive a'll
get out.
Speaker 5 (23:47):
So I appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
So Mahomes got an acl most of these Price saw
story on Daniel Jones the other day. All these young athletes.
The doctors are so good, the medical advances. I mean,
Daniel Jones has taking snaps to days ago and I'm like,
I thought he was going to miss September.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Where are we with Holmes and do you.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
Check on Patrick every week or do you just kind
of let the medical staff do it? And I mean
how often you check up on that?
Speaker 5 (24:12):
Yeah, listen, there's a balance there. I mean, I trust
our medical staff. First of all.
Speaker 9 (24:16):
I trust doctor Cooper did the surgery and we listened
to him. I'm not going to go against what the
experts say on that most of although I'm with Patrick
every day, he's practicing and then we kind of gauge
what we're putting him in on and well we're not
and and make sure that he gets work. But at
(24:37):
the same time, he's not getting hit or somebody falling
on him, and that until it continues to heal, and
there's a there's a time process there.
Speaker 5 (24:48):
Whatever that time is. Everybody does it different.
Speaker 9 (24:50):
Everybody's different on this thing, so different guys heal different
at different rates. And and then the rehab part of it.
He's been relentless with that Colin. I mean, it's crazy
how much time he has spent on this thing, and.
Speaker 5 (25:07):
So it's he's doing it the right way.
Speaker 9 (25:11):
Can I guarantee that he's going to be playing on
the first game, No, I can't guarantee that.
Speaker 5 (25:16):
I mean, let's take it day by day and see
what happens.
Speaker 9 (25:19):
And if he can go and he can get himself
out arms away, that's that's great.
Speaker 5 (25:23):
If he can't, then he's not going to play.
Speaker 9 (25:24):
And that's why we picked up justin so he's here
and we'll play him.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
You know what's interesting is I think Patrick's such a
unique kid. Is that I remember Tom Brady didn't want
to do any commercials. He didn't want to do any
commercials for years, and everybody can you know, Baker Mayfield's like,
I'll do him first day. Mahomes is so globally relevant.
The sport now is big in Europe. I was just
over in Spain. You see NFL. Jersey's over there. It's everywhere.
(25:50):
And that he's such a likable personality. He's in commercials,
he's rich, he's done this, and yet there is something
so regular and normal about Patrick, like he's just like
a he's a kid. He's like it doesn't get affected
by it.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
I don't. How do you explain that? Maybe I don't.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Maybe it helps that he's in Kansas City, he's not
in New York, in LA. I don't know, but he
seems like so normal considering he's arguably the best NFL
player that's coming to the league in twenty years.
Speaker 5 (26:18):
Yeah, he grew up in a locker room.
Speaker 9 (26:21):
I mean, that's what I would attributed to His dad
is a guy, but he was a great player in baseball.
He made him hang around with him in the locker room.
And mom's a good lady, so they raised him right,
and he handles it the right way.
Speaker 8 (26:37):
You know.
Speaker 9 (26:37):
It's a little bit like you know, when you went
to Spain, you know McIntyre, you know, he took over and.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
I mean, you know, come on, some people just have it.
You know. I got tired of hearing all the bad
things about the Chiefs, you know.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
I know by the way, I'm McIntyre runs into at
an event.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
Mahomes.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
He comes the next day, he goes, I can't believe
what a great guy he is. And I like, yeah,
if Mahomes ripped you every day, you wouldn't be a
nice guy. Mahomes is up there being oh j Mac
and like, you know, thank you Magott.
Speaker 5 (27:13):
No, Maggott tire motivates me. I like that. He would
be a good coach. He motivates me.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
He motivated Thank you, mister Reid. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Yeah, he motivates you. He frustrates me. So I'm glad
one of us gets it out of it.
Speaker 8 (27:27):
Andy.
Speaker 9 (27:28):
The only good thing about him right now is that
he's in la That's the only good.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
Thing that's right, you know, Andy, Now you know you
and I are closer. I'm in Chicago, and I don't
know if you know this and all that La freofrew stuff.
Chicago is an incredible food city. I eat steak twice.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
A week now I eat about that. Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
It's just these Midwest people. They eat the right way.
They don't mess around right now.
Speaker 5 (27:52):
I was in Green Bay.
Speaker 9 (27:53):
I was in Green Bay for seven years and we
used to go down to Chicago all the time with
great city.
Speaker 5 (27:58):
It's a great city.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
All right.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Finally there you're you're in this world.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Got Kenneth Walker. Now he is a bruiser.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
He is, I mean at Michigan State, at Seattle he
is yards after contact so and I said this there
to day. You guys picked up a running back out
of actually a kid out of Nebraska. I think is
a really interesting player, and I think he'll he'll get
in your rotation. But Kenneth Walker, how do you he's
a big carry guy and he I mean you can
you can rely on him for two hundred and forty
(28:29):
carries a year. How do you monitor that? Because he'll
run through people. He's not going to avoid contact. Are
you a little worried about Hey, we need this guy
regular season, postseason. He is a bruising, head first runner.
How are you going to use him?
Speaker 6 (28:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (28:46):
Listen, I love his attitude.
Speaker 9 (28:48):
You know, we're in the middle of these OTAs, so
even though we're in shorts and run around, but he's
one hundred miles an hour every play and it looks
like he really loves the game.
Speaker 5 (28:58):
And he is a bruiser and he's on ball of muscled.
Speaker 6 (29:02):
And h.
Speaker 9 (29:04):
He's going to get you know, he'll get a few carries,
i'd say, during the season. So it'll be good for
him to keep keep growing as a football player. And
that's what he wants to do. And you saw in
the playoffs what he can do.
Speaker 5 (29:17):
Have you saw it? Where he can he can be
a third.
Speaker 9 (29:20):
He can be a third down back, he can do
goal line shotyards, the whole works.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
There, Andy Reid a kid. Good way to end our show.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Emmitt Johnson's that running back out of Nebraska coach is
always great to see.
Speaker 5 (29:30):
You all right, appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
All right, and I'm god glad he called out Jmak
for his tomfoolery.
Speaker 6 (29:37):
That was a very welcome refreshing. My shot will not
stop buzzing right now. People are freaking out College.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
That was wild.
