exact score two nil, before South Korea or a career
Republic Chechia, and before any of the Friday games. So
that's where we're at in the World Cup calendar. When
we're doing this, only one game has been played. So
we'll do World Cup stuff in a bit, but first
to Monday, let's get to game five.

It's totally possible. Why next time we go live the
finals champion will be crowned as a loss like the
Spurs to suffered too hard to come back from. Do
you see them winning this Game five? Where do we
go from here?
Speaker 1 (01:59):
So here's where I stand on the series. I think
the Spurs lost the championship Wednesday night. They Lebron James
is not walking through that door. They are not coming
back from down three h or down three to one.
They are to me, about as dead as a team
that was down. It was down three to zero. And

part of that is because I do not think they
are better than the Knicks. I know they aren't more
clutch or better at executing down the stretch than the Knicks,
and there is no lead the Spurs can get out
to where the Knicks in Game five, where the Knicks

will be nervous, or where the Spurs will be comfortable.
It is remarkable to Monse that the Spurs have had
a double digit lead in every game this series. Well,
and it's start the games off hot. But then also,
I'm gonna do this in on the fly the score

right around the two minute mark of these games. Game one,
san Antonio at the with two minutes left in the
game had a one point lead. They lost Game two
of this series. At the two minute mark, san Antonio

had I'm doing this again on the fly, had a
they were down by one at the two minute mark.
Oh I'm sorry, so let's do it this way. San
Antonio at the one minute mark of Game two had
a two point so at the game one at the

two minute mark had a one point lead and they lost.
Game two at the one minute mark, they had a
two point lead and they lost. Game three obviously was
the game they one, but that was also a game that,
in the waning moments, all of a sudden, appeared to
be in the balance, and at the two minute mark

of game three, say it again, No, not there talking
about yesterday's No. At the two minute mark of game three,
san Antonio was up four, they won it. And yesterday
at the two minute mark, san Antonio was up one
and they lost the game. So they have been not
only up double digits every game this series, but up

within the final two minutes in every game this series.
And they're down three points. So that speaks to the
fact or they're down three points, they're down three games
to one, speaks to the fact that they're good enough
to win. And I and you know Stefan Castle keeps
saying we're gonna win every game. We expect to win

three in a row. Then after yesterday's game was like,
we have dictated the winners and losers of this game.
They were credit at some point, Yeah, exactly. They refuse
to just give the Knicks credit. But the other piece
of this is, right now this moment, who on the

Spurs is playing great? I don't know that anybody is.
I think Castle is the closest one to it.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
I can't think of anything like really bad Visell moments.
I feel like he's been pretty consistently.

Decent, sure and great playing great like and I said
Castle and Castle in yesterday's game or wednesday's game was
two for seven from the field. Wimby's had one great game.
Uh you Visell is shooting the lights out. That part
is true, but again he's giving you thirteen and seven.

It feels like Dylan Harper is you know, you could
use more of him, but he can't hit an outside shot.
None of the Spurs are playing great. Meanwhile, Og is
playing the best basketball of his life. And Brunson, while
not the efficiency he would like, Demons is thirty points,

five rebounds, five assists, and his efficiency has only gotten
better as this series has gone on. The you know,
Game one he was thirty nine percent, Game two he
was bad. He's twenty eight percent, Game three forty four percent.
Game five or game four forty eight percent. But here

is the real reason that I believe. I believe the
Knicks are gonna win Game five. And it is not
because I think the Spurs are just going to be
a shell of themselves. Because everyone is looking at it
from the perspective of what that type of loss could

or could not do to the Spurs. That's not the
perspective I have. The perspective I have is what that
type of win is going to do for the Knicks.
Those guys on the Knicks are going to walk into
Game five bonded in a way that I don't want

to use a war analogy like the just melded as
a unit, the likes of which you it's usually impossible
to be without having won a championship together. Like demon, Say,

a great chance, but there's a chance, and get if
that's the case, I obviously would do it, and I
would buy tickets the Spurs game five prices. All of
a sudden, right now we're damn near Knicks game four prices.
Like I think Knicks fans are coming down for that moment,

and I just think the Knicks are gonna be a
team on fire, and they can obviously win in San Antonio.
And here's the one other thing I will say, and
maybe it won't happen, but you know what we haven't
seen yet this series, the Knicks go crazy from three.

They listen, they have been consistent and good from three.
But Game one Knicks eleven of thirty six from three
thirty one percent. It's fine. Game two fifteen of thirty
eight from three thirty nine percent. That's that's good. You

know that, that maybe even really good. Game three the

just average. And last night the Knicks were fifteen of
thirty two from three. Now that's a great percentage, but
it's not a crazy number. We haven't had the eighteen

to that is I think he will have bounts of

they can. They just won game three and they were

they would be favorites in Game seven. Looking at them individually,
it does not seem that hard. And I know some

care about it individually at all. Here's what I care about.
Do I think the New York Knicks, who have lost
one game in seven weeks and just came back from
down twenty nine points for the greatest comeback in the

game losing streak. Apps so fucking lutely not so. I
think the Knicks will win Game five. I am wholly
and entirely confident the Knicks are gonna win this series.

basics for the tournament. But now I want to know
what you have your eyes set on in the World Cup.
Maybe top five storylines.

Yeah, so I listen. The number one storyline, obviously, is
can Argentina defend its title? And if they were to,
how it would mean that Messi it's it's it is
debatable whether or not Messi is the greatest player ever.

Pele has has something to say about that. Some believe
it's debatable whether or not Messi is even the greatest
player of his own generation. Christiano Ronaldo would have something
say about that if Argentina were to win this World Cup,
because Messi would have to be a big piece of it.
It is simply not debatable in the least. It is

not a argument, It is not a question. It is
not a as I love to say, an allowed opinion
to say that the that Messi. If Messi goes back
to back World Cups to finish it off and has
all these World Cup records, So that's the number one
story line. And again number two storyline isn't really a

number two storyline, but they kind of go hand in hand.
Is can Cristiano Ronaldo who is no longer even close
to the best player on Portugal somehow in his sixth
World Cup ever. I mean, first of all, score the
first ever goal he has outside of the group stage,
and second of all, get Portugal to its first ever

World Cup final. Might let alone win it? That would
be you know, those are kind of the the goat storylines.
Spain and France are the two best teams. Spain might
have the best player in the world in La Miga Mal,
but he's dealing with an injury. France has the best
overall roster, so you know, those are that's hovering there

for We'll get to the Team USA stuff in a moment,
and then for me, you know, I impartial to Brazil.
Brazil has been a massive disappointment for the last twenty
four years at the World Cup and they are dealing
with injury. They are dealing with not even being close
(23:15):
to the favorite for one of the only times of
my entire life. But I think they can do it.
So those are, you know, some of the main storylines.
But I would like to get to Team USA. So
let's get into that.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
US men's national team has their first game of the
tournament against Paraguay tonight. You said that a run to
the quarterfinals will be a massive success for our squad.
What do you have to see out of them tonight
to believe that they can make it that.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Far a clear cut victory. So here is the way.
If the US doesn't make it out of the group stage,
especially now in the expanded World Cup where eight third
place teams make it out, then it is an utter,
incomplete catastrophe. Okay, I'm not even going to entertain that possibility,

not because it's not possible, but because that just takes
discussion totally direction. The goal is not to make it
out of the group stage. The goal is to win
the group therefore draw a third place finisher in uh
in the round of thirty two, have the best path
(24:31):
possible to the round of sixteen and for just the
second time in US history, make it out of the
round of sixteen and into the quarterfinals. If they are
going to do that, demonse too. The worst two teams
(24:53):
they're gonna play the whole tournament are the first two
games they play Paraguayans Australia. It's not because those are
awful teams, but it's because you would expect that everyone
to make it to the knockout round to be better
than those two teams, or at least certainly any team
to make it to the round of sixteen to be

better than those two teams, so they need to win
their first game. The team USA has been to ten
World Cup. Six times. They've advanced past the prior to
this year, six times they've advanced past the group stage.
All six times they did they either won or drew
their first game. Four times they didn't advance past the
(25:34):
group stage they lost their first game. Paraguay is going
to try to kind of muck it up and play
a defensive game, so one nothing could be the score here.
The US has not been playing one nothing type of games.
They have their last fourteen games the US men's national team,
(25:54):
they only have won what they call clean sheet but shutout.
But the US has to win for night flat if
they're gonna If you're gonna believe that this team can
win multiple knockout round games, they need to go into
their first game of a home World Cup and beat Paraguay.

You beat Paraguay, you beat Australia, and then you set
yourself up where you just need a draw against Turkey
A to basically lock up the group most likely and
be fine. The goal for this group stage for Team
USA realistic goal should be seven points, two wins and
(26:37):
one draw. An acceptable result would be five or six points,
meaning five points would be one win and two draws.
Six points would be two wins and one loss. A
disappointing result would be four points, a win, a draw,
(27:02):
and a loss, and a wholly An entirely unacceptable result
would be three points, which would be one win and
two losses or three draws. I'm going to I'm gonna
be optimistic. I really like the coach. I like how
they have played at in their last two warm ups
(27:25):
against Senegal in Germany, and I'm gonna say Team USA
is gonna get seven points. I think they are gonna
beat Paraguay, they are gonna beat Australia, and they're gonna
draw against Turkey A and win the group and get
seven points, and then we'll see who we draw. All right,
let's go to the first follow up.

Here, America's plus seven fifty to reach the quarterfinals.

Do you like that value? I don't because and here's
why I just wouldn't. I think it is I don't
want to make that bet on a team that is
as interesting but not top world class until I see

who they would be playing in route there, like, it
just feels like a very blind bet not knowing who
they would have to play in the round of thirty
two in the round of sixteen, and you honestly, depending
on who they're playing, if they're playing one of the
top teams in the world, might be able to get
better odds by simply waiting until the end of the

group stage and then parlaying you know, them to win
the round of thirty two and then then them to
win the round the round of sixteen. Go to this elimination,
this stage of elimination odds demons.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Yeah, so the stage elimination odds for US is group
stage plus three fifty round if thirty two is plus
one eighty five Sweet sixteen plus two forty quarterfinals plus
four seventy five semi finals plus twelve hundred up plus
three thousand winner plus six thousand.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
I think the most likely result of this tournament for
Team USA is an all too familiar place of losing
in the round of sixteen, getting out of the group
winning one knockout round game in the Expanded World Cup
again prior to this year, to Monsey, when you get
out of the group you're in the round of sixteen,

but this year they expanded it. I think that's the
most likely result. Again, I I am not I'm not
betting that ahead of time. What I'm simply saying, yeah,

but that's the most likely result. I also am I
think the maybe once the tournament gets rolling, if I'm
really dialed again, I did predict the Mexico score exactly.
The soccer same game parlays. All same game parlays are tough.

Soccer ones are particularly tough because there's just so few events,
Like there's just you know, it's like shots on goal,
total shots, corner kicks, those things. Yeah, so I don't
for here's what I am curious. What is the hard
rock bet odds of one nothing US over Paraguay. I
(30:37):
do like, I think that is the most likely result.
I think a one nil United States win, and I
assume I could get pretty good plus money on that.
I don't know if you guys can plus five point fifty. Oh,

I like that a lot, then I would have. I
thought that was gonna be around plus four hundred. Yeah,
I like one nil US over Pairaguay. The now here's
the other thing it absolutely could be instead of one nil,

it could be three to two, and that sounds like
a total cop out. My point is this, if the
US scores early, then or either team scores early, then
the other team can all of a sudden, you know,
be like, all right, we're gonna have to take more chances.
We're gonna Sometimes an early goal leads to a higher

scoring game, and sometimes, oddly an early goal leads to
a lower scoring game because the team that scores then
just like locks it up. They play back and they're,
you know, very conservative. But sometimes an early goal makes
a team if they're the team that didn't score it,
if they were gonna play conservative, they then open it up.
But I think one nothing US is the where I

land on it. All right, let's go to the World
Cup bets real quick here.

Last week you said the smart money was on France
to win it all at plus five twenty five and
Norway was a fun long shot at plus twenty five hundred.
What other bets have you had your eye on? I mean,
go ahead, sorry, yeah, go ahead, no you go. We
got Brazil at plus eight hundred, Norway at plus twenty
five hundred.

Oh, Norway was the So here's I'm just gonna tell
you the bets I have made. I am rooting for Brazil.
I am picking Brazil. Yes, France might be the smart money.
I like Brazil's manager once. You know, one time in

on Brazil. But I did have I do have a
little sprinkle on Norway. Norway has not made the World
Cup in Earling Holland's lifetime. But the reason to pick.
And I'm not gonna act like I know a ton

about the Norwegian team. Here's what I know about their team.
They might have the best player in the world and
maybe he just goes on a magical run. So at
twenty five to one, I don't mind it. The producers
are trying to make me an offer of Brazil and
France to be the finalist at twenty two to fifty.
Here's the problem with any of these finalist bets, and

again I just being real with the audience. We don't
know what thet's gonna be, So what the okay, you
bet Brazil and France to be finalists, and then because
of where they finished in their group they're on the
same side of the bracket, you lose. Guess what, They're
gonna play each other for the finals. So I am

once the bracket is set, once the group stage is over,
then I'm fine with all of that. But I'm not
making it would be like asking someone to bet to
pick four final four teams before we see what regions
the teams are in, and it's like, okay, I've got

these two teams both in the final four. Oh shit,
they're both in the East region. Well, I guess I lose.
So the I'm just not gonna do its business. But yeah, so,
but here's what I will say to the audience. Quickly,
watch these games. It is such great theater and this

that's where we're at in the World Cup calendar. When
we're doing this, only one game has been played. So
we'll do World Cup stuff in a bit, but first
to Monday, let's get to game five.

It's totally possible. Why next time we go live the
finals champion will be crowned as a loss like the
Spurs to suffered too hard to come back from. Do
you see them winning this Game five? Where do we
go from here?

So here's where I stand on the series. I think
the Spurs lost the championship Wednesday night. They Lebron James
is not walking through that door. They are not coming
back from down three h or down three to one.
They are to me, about as dead as a team
that was down. It was down three to zero. And

part of that is because I do not think they
are better than the Knicks. I know they aren't more
clutch or better at executing down the stretch than the Knicks,
and there is no lead the Spurs can get out
to where the Knicks in Game five, where the Knicks

will be nervous, or where the Spurs will be comfortable.
It is remarkable to Monse that the Spurs have had
a double digit lead in every game this series. Well,
and it's start the games off hot. But then also,
I'm gonna do this in on the fly the score

right around the two minute mark of these games. Game one,
san Antonio at the with two minutes left in the
game had a one point lead. They lost Game two
of this series. At the two minute mark, san Antonio

had I'm doing this again on the fly, had a
they were down by one at the two minute mark.
Oh I'm sorry, so let's do it this way. San
Antonio at the one minute mark of Game two had
a two point so at the game one at the

two minute mark had a one point lead and they lost.
Game two at the one minute mark, they had a
two point lead and they lost. Game three obviously was
the game they one, but that was also a game that,
in the waning moments, all of a sudden, appeared to
be in the balance, and at the two minute mark

about yesterday's No. At the two minute mark of game three,
san Antonio was up four, they won it. And yesterday
at the two minute mark, san Antonio was up one
and they lost the game. So they have been not
only up double digits every game this series, but up

within the final two minutes in every game this series.
And they're down three points. So that speaks to the
fact or they're down three points, they're down three games
to one, speaks to the fact that they're good enough
to win. And I and you know Stefan Castle keeps
saying we're gonna win every game. We expect to win

three in a row. Then after yesterday's game was like,
we have dictated the winners and losers of this game.
They were credit at some point, Yeah, exactly. They refuse
to just give the Knicks credit. But the other piece
of this is, right now this moment, who on the

Spurs is playing great? I don't know that anybody is.
I think Castle is the closest one to it.

I can't think of anything like really bad Visell moments.
I feel like he's been pretty consistently.

Knicks are gonna win Game five. And it is not
because I think the Spurs are just going to be

type of win is going to do for the Knicks.

think the Knicks will win Game five. I am wholly
and entirely confident the Knicks are gonna win this series.

can Argentina defend its title? And if they were to,
how it would mean that Messi it's it's it is
debatable whether or not Messi is the greatest player ever.

it's debatable whether or not Messi is even the greatest
player of his own generation. Christiano Ronaldo would have something
say about that if Argentina were to win this World Cup,
because Messi would have to be a big piece of it.
It is simply not debatable in the least. It is

not a argument, It is not a question. It is
not a as I love to say, an allowed opinion
to say that the that Messi. If Messi goes back
to back World Cups to finish it off and has
all these World Cup records, So that's the number one
story line. And again number two storyline isn't really a

number two storyline, but they kind of go hand in hand.
Is can Cristiano Ronaldo who is no longer even close
to the best player on Portugal somehow in his sixth
World Cup ever. I mean, first of all, score the
first ever goal he has outside of the group stage,
and second of all, get Portugal to its first ever

World Cup final. Might let alone win it? That would
be you know, those are kind of the the goat storylines.
Spain and France are the two best teams. Spain might
have the best player in the world in La Miga Mal,
but he's dealing with an injury. France has the best
overall roster, so you know, those are that's hovering there

for We'll get to the Team USA stuff in a moment,
and then for me, you know, I impartial to Brazil.
Brazil has been a massive disappointment for the last twenty
four years at the World Cup and they are dealing
with injury. They are dealing with not even being close

to the favorite for one of the only times of
my entire life. But I think they can do it.
So those are, you know, some of the main storylines.
But I would like to get to Team USA. So
let's get into that.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
US men's national team has their first game of the
tournament against Paraguay tonight. You said that a run to
the quarterfinals will be a massive success for our squad.
What do you have to see out of them tonight
to believe that they can make it that.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Far a clear cut victory. So here is the way.
If the US doesn't make it out of the group stage,
especially now in the expanded World Cup where eight third
place teams make it out, then it is an utter,
incomplete catastrophe. Okay, I'm not even going to entertain that possibility,

not because it's not possible, but because that just takes
discussion totally direction. The goal is not to make it
out of the group stage. The goal is to win
the group therefore draw a third place finisher in uh
in the round of thirty two, have the best path
(24:31):
possible to the round of sixteen and for just the
second time in US history, make it out of the
round of sixteen and into the quarterfinals. If they are
going to do that, demonse too. The worst two teams
(24:53):
they're gonna play the whole tournament are the first two
games they play Paraguayans Australia. It's not because those are
awful teams, but it's because you would expect that everyone
to make it to the knockout round to be better
than those two teams, or at least certainly any team
to make it to the round of sixteen to be

better than those two teams, so they need to win
their first game. The team USA has been to ten
World Cup. Six times. They've advanced past the prior to
this year, six times they've advanced past the group stage.
All six times they did they either won or drew
their first game. Four times they didn't advance past the

group stage they lost their first game. Paraguay is going
to try to kind of muck it up and play
a defensive game, so one nothing could be the score here.
The US has not been playing one nothing type of games.
They have their last fourteen games the US men's national team,

they only have won what they call clean sheet but shutout.
But the US has to win for night flat if
they're gonna If you're gonna believe that this team can
win multiple knockout round games, they need to go into
their first game of a home World Cup and beat Paraguay.

You beat Paraguay, you beat Australia, and then you set
yourself up where you just need a draw against Turkey
A to basically lock up the group most likely and
be fine. The goal for this group stage for Team
USA realistic goal should be seven points, two wins and

one draw. An acceptable result would be five or six points,
meaning five points would be one win and two draws.
Six points would be two wins and one loss. A
disappointing result would be four points, a win, a draw,

and a loss, and a wholly An entirely unacceptable result
would be three points, which would be one win and
two losses or three draws. I'm going to I'm gonna
be optimistic. I really like the coach. I like how
they have played at in their last two warm ups
(27:25):
against Senegal in Germany, and I'm gonna say Team USA
is gonna get seven points. I think they are gonna
beat Paraguay, they are gonna beat Australia, and they're gonna
draw against Turkey A and win the group and get
seven points, and then we'll see who we draw. All right,
let's go to the first follow up.

Do you like that value? I don't because and here's
why I just wouldn't. I think it is I don't
want to make that bet on a team that is
as interesting but not top world class until I see

just feels like a very blind bet not knowing who
they would have to play in the round of thirty
two in the round of sixteen, and you honestly, depending
on who they're playing, if they're playing one of the
top teams in the world, might be able to get
better odds by simply waiting until the end of the

group stage and then parlaying you know, them to win
the round of thirty two and then then them to
win the round the round of sixteen. Go to this elimination,
this stage of elimination odds demons.

Yeah, so the stage elimination odds for US is group
stage plus three fifty round if thirty two is plus
one eighty five Sweet sixteen plus two forty quarterfinals plus
four seventy five semi finals plus twelve hundred up plus
three thousand winner plus six thousand.

I think the most likely result of this tournament for
Team USA is an all too familiar place of losing
in the round of sixteen, getting out of the group
winning one knockout round game in the Expanded World Cup
again prior to this year, to Monsey, when you get
out of the group you're in the round of sixteen,

but this year they expanded it. I think that's the
most likely result. Again, I I am not I'm not
betting that ahead of time. What I'm simply saying, yeah,

but that's the most likely result. I also am I
think the maybe once the tournament gets rolling, if I'm
really dialed again, I did predict the Mexico score exactly.
The soccer same game parlays. All same game parlays are tough.

Soccer ones are particularly tough because there's just so few events,
Like there's just you know, it's like shots on goal,
total shots, corner kicks, those things. Yeah, so I don't
for here's what I am curious. What is the hard
rock bet odds of one nothing US over Paraguay. I

do like, I think that is the most likely result.
I think a one nil United States win, and I
assume I could get pretty good plus money on that.
I don't know if you guys can plus five point fifty. Oh,

I like that a lot, then I would have. I
thought that was gonna be around plus four hundred. Yeah,
I like one nil US over Pairaguay. The now here's
the other thing it absolutely could be instead of one nil,

it could be three to two, and that sounds like

US scores early, then or either team scores early, then
the other team can all of a sudden, you know,
be like, all right, we're gonna have to take more chances.
We're gonna Sometimes an early goal leads to a higher

scoring game, and sometimes, oddly an early goal leads to
a lower scoring game because the team that scores then
just like locks it up. They play back and they're,
you know, very conservative. But sometimes an early goal makes
a team if they're the team that didn't score it,
if they were gonna play conservative, they then open it up.
But I think one nothing US is the where I

land on it. All right, let's go to the World
Cup bets real quick here.
