Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome in What's Driving the Grite episode 509. This episode
of What's Driving the Grite is brought to you by
our good friends at Boost Mobile. Damanze, great to see you.
How are you today?
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Good to see you this morning, Pop. So amazing. How
are you doing? Birthday coming up.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
I'm doing well. Oh yeah, birthday is coming up. Kind
of a boring one. 42. Not really nothing.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Hey man, was that Jackie Robinson?
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Oh, hey, yeah, there you go. Great take. Great job
by you. That is true. But yeah, I am... It
feels like the producers were giving me a bit of
a hard time because... So here is a little personal
anecdote that I alluded to or discussed on Tuesday's show.
I am going to Vegas tomorrow. And I am taking...
(00:52):
So Dan... You know what? I'll tell a quick personal
story right now to start the show. I think people
like it. Then we'll get straight to voicemail and then
we'll get to other stuff. Danny and I, Danny Parkinson
and I went to college together. I was two years
older than him. Two grades above him. I technically was
his first radio boss. And so I had already graduated
(01:14):
and was a few months out of school when Danny
was turning 21. So this would have been, well, 19
years ago, I guess. So 2000, October of 07. Yeah,
because I graduated college in May of 07. And Danny,
his dad, his mom, Danny's dad who has since passed
(01:38):
and really tragically Danny's big brother who was his best
friend who has since also passed. It's why Danny does
the brain up stuff and does fundraising for glioblastoma because
his brother passed from it a couple of years ago.
We all... went to Vegas for his 21st birthday. And
so it was his family and me. And, uh, I
(02:03):
was fresh off being on who wants to be a millionaire.
And I had won 50 grand and like three days
before the Vegas trip, the people at the Disney corporation
or whomever sent me the check. And I vividly remember
this is now going to be, I, you know what,
this will be good. This is good. Good story time.
And Demanze, you don't even know all of this.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
I do know what you've explained up to this point.
I do know about, I think, I don't know if
I know the.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Big, but like, no, there's no big, it's just little,
it's little windows into 22 year. I guess I would
have been 23. Um, just turned 23 year old Nick Wright,
fresh out of college though, who wants to be a
millionaire check. And it was, this was, so if it's
October of 07, it is two months after I met
(02:55):
your mom, but eight months before your mom ever agreed
to go on a date with me. So it was
in this 10 month period of me repeatedly trying to
get her to go on a date with me and
her saying no. Um, and so I get this check
and I know I'm going to Vegas and I'm like,
all right, man, you make $ 8 an hour. this is
(03:19):
something you're not really going to have this type of
opportunity again, anytime in the near future. And this is
true story. Gosh, this is embarrassing telling a podcast with
your son, but whatever the audience will like it. I
went to four different bank of Americas with the plan
(03:45):
of God, I can't believe I'm telling you this. I
was like, I am whenever there is a, what do
you call a teller? Whomever the most attractive female 20
something year old teller that I see is the one
that I am going. I was like, this is a
one shot thing of like an amazing story. And I, uh, the,
(04:12):
and I, um, and I'm never going to have this
opportunity again. And so I find like my third or
fourth bank of America. There's a, I thought a very
pretty young lady. And I walk over, I'm like, Hey,
I'd like to, um, cash this check. I slide the
(04:34):
check over and she looks at it. And at first
has the reaction that I thought she would have, which
is like, this is fake. Like it's $ 50, 000 from who
wants to be a millionaire. Like, give me a break. Um,
And I'm like, no, like, you know, I was on
the show and, you know, I did well and whatever. Um, and, uh,
(04:55):
and I would like, I would like, I would like
to deposit 40. I remember this so vividly. I was like,
I would like to deposit $ 43, 000 in my checking account,
which brought my checking account with the $ 43, 000 deposit up
to $ 43, 412. And I was like, I would like $ 7, 000
(05:21):
in cash. And she's like, all right, you want big bills?
I'm like, glad you asked. I'll take $ 5, 000 in hundreds,
$ 1, 000 in twenties, and go ahead and give me $ 1, 000
in ones. That's true. That's 100% true. And so it
(05:41):
takes a long time. Again, not lying here. And all
this is rushing back to me. That girl and I
did go on a date. Of course. My plan, that
worked really well. Two days later, I get on a
plane to go to Vegas to see Danny for his
21st birthday. Right when I land, right when I land,
(06:04):
you know, his family's like, hey, we're going to lunch,
whatever it is. And I'm like, there's a poker tournament
at the Bellagio that I'm going to. And it was
a thousand dollar entry poker tournament. I had never played
in a poker tournament in my life. Again, this is
20 years ago. And prior to depositing this check, I
had $ 600, $ 400 in my name. I buy into this
(06:26):
poker tournament. First hand, I ever played a poker in
Las Vegas in my life in this tournament, I get
pocket aces. And some guy misplays his hand. I was like,
I'm going to lose on the very first. I double up.
I end up making the final table, finishing fifth in
the tournament. which paid like four grand. So I'm like,
(06:49):
Oh my God, I had no money. I came here
with 7,000. I've now made four.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
I then over the course of like the table, I imagine.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
I mean, I, I mean, you had to be 21
to get in. I was 23. So I had to be,
but it's like, it's a, it's a tournament. So there's
like a hundred people playing in it. Like first prize,
I think was like 35 grand. Um, I was texting
Danny throughout it. His brother texts me. If you win
the tournament, we're throwing you in the Bellagio fountains. I
finished fifth or whatever. And then I go on to
(07:21):
this day, the best hit and run blackjack run of
my life, where it's like, I play like six hands,
win five, leave, play, go to a different casino, do this.
Moral of the story is I came back from that
Vegas trip with $ 21, 000. And I went from four days
prior to, I had $ 400 in my checking account. So
(07:47):
I deposited 43. I now have 21 cash and I
felt very rich. Now, snap cut a year later, we're
back to $ 400. The only thing I've actually purchased is
one television. Um, and so, uh, I mean, that was
all that was spent at the places where, you know,
(08:08):
I asked for the singles for, and at casinos and
nice dinners, whatever it was.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
So that when you, when you had something about the singles,
I was like, okay, just the casino isn't the only plan.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
No. So I kind of had a thing right out
of college where if, if we won at the casino, uh,
I would take me and my roommate Garrett, who, you know, um, uh,
he's actually a Vegas DJ now to dinner to get
(08:39):
to a nice dinner. And very often the nice dinner
would end at a gentleman's club in seedy areas of
downtown Kansas city. I was 20, you know, I was 23.
I was single, um, whatever it was. Um, and so
Danny and I went to Vegas for his 21st birthday. We, uh,
Went back one other time a couple years later when
(09:01):
he was working in Kansas City with Slim Fast from
96.5 The Buzz for one of his birthdays. We've never
been back since. So I'm taking him for his 40th birthday,
but we couldn't make the weekend work where it's his
40th birthday. So we're actually going on my birthday weekend,
but it's his birthday trip and try to recreate the
(09:23):
hot run from 20 years ago. With his dad and
his brother and his mom. Yeah. I mean, this story
probably went longer than it needed to. But that's what
I'm doing.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Oh, that's lore right there. That's real Nick Wright, Danny
Parker's lore.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
I mean, there is one. I'm not going to. This
other story would embarrass Danny. The one other time we
went to Vegas, he may or may not. Robbed is
too strong of a word. But he certainly had. He
left himself open to have money taken from him. and
the person he left open to happily took it. But
(10:04):
that's a story for him to tell, not for me.
All right, so listen, I'll report back on Tuesday. We're
going to Chiefs Raiders. We're going to play some craps,
play a little poker, watch some football. One last thing.
I didn't realize... The first Europe game of the year
(10:24):
is this Sunday. So that's a 6.30 a.m. kickoff, your
time and Vegas time. So that's going to be an early,
early morning to watch. I think it's Colts Commanders. Oh,
it's Colts Commanders. Decent game. Jaden might play, might not.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
All right, straight to voicemail. Brought to you by Boost Mobile.
The No. 8 seed, New York Liberty. Get healthy at
the right time and shock. Nafisa Collier and Olivia Miles
and the number one seed, Lynx. The NBA is closing
on the Las Vegas expansion team. LeBron will not be
owning that team as that expansion fee is going to
(11:01):
come in around $ 12 billion. And Mike Tomlin reveals his
Minecraft city he worked on for 12 years. I have
not watched the YouTube video of this yet, Demanze. I
hear you have takes on it.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
So I watched it.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
First off, shout out to Mike Tomlin for playing Minecraft
and creating the city. I feel like he probably had
a little bit of help. It was very detailed. I
played a lot of Minecraft back in the day.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
And I got to say, I don't know if I
could have done what he did.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
I paid a lot of attention to detail with the
stuff inside the buildings.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Big on the bathrooms.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
But you did it as a youth.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Yeah, no, the first day I got it was we
lived in Sugar Land. I played it for maybe like
10 to 12 hours straight. With my friends on this
survival world.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
But yeah, I was a kid.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Mike Tomlin said he was using it to distract himself from,
you know, that shouldn't say the hardships of life, but
just like life in general.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
So I wonder where the Steelers were at that point
in time.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
And he also made a Trump Tower inside of his
net that wasn't necessary.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Oh, I didn't see that. Warren Sharp killed him. Because
you said where the Steelers were. I mean, this is
maybe unfair. Warren Sharp tweets this. Mike Tomlin, Minecraft splits.
Tomlin before Minecraft. One Super Bowl win, two Super Bowl trips,
five playoff wins, five and three postseason record. Mike Tomlin
(12:30):
with Minecraft, 12 seasons, zero Super Bowl wins, zero Super
Bowl trips, three playoff wins, three and nine record. I
don't think that's necessarily fair, but that is how it
lines up. It seems to me, though, I found it
super relatable. It feels to me like how I do Legos.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
It's a nice little distraction to keep you busy.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Minecraft, because it's digital, is a little different. But folks,
there is something similar in a very loose way. to
what I do when being a coach, which only in
this regard, when I say similar, here's what I mean.
You don't create anything. At the end of the day,
(13:17):
whether you did a great job or a terrible job,
there is nothing to look at, nothing built. And you
just go back the next day and do it again.
Like you just, it just goes out into the ether
and you just repeat it. I think for folks who,
at least for me personally, that have that type of profession,
(13:39):
there is something satisfying about, I'm going to work on
something and then put it on a shelf and see it.
Like I did that. I understand Minecraft's digital, so he
can't put it on a shelf, but still he, I also,
I didn't know enough about Minecraft. It seemed, I'd be terrified.
(14:01):
that something like that was just going to get erased
or wiped or... Like, for real, like that.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
There's a few steps you got to do to get there,
I feel like, but yeah, that would be sad.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Like, 12 years, a lot of stuff, yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
No, that would, like, that could really, like.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
People have worlds that they created with, like, their deceased
partners and like that, I feel like they keep up with.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
It's like, oh, they built this, they built that. It's
like memory of them.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Yeah, I mean, no, so I... Minecraft, I'm a little, like.
Tomlin and I are... He's older than me, so I
can't really say I'm a little too old for Minecraft.
But I didn't pick up on it as an adult,
and it didn't exist when I was a kid. All right. Oh,
one last thing. So I had mentioned to you guys
the Splash Sports Survivor Contest. The one that's 21 million
(14:49):
for first place. Obviously, this year Survivor's been a bloodbath.
The second most picked team... Each week, DeMond's A is lost.
So the most picked team has been safe, but the
number two most popular team each week so far this
year has gotten clipped. It was the Chargers in week two.
(15:11):
It was the Bucs. I'm sorry, the Chargers in week one.
The Chargers were the third most popular in week two,
but it was the Bucs in week two. And then
I think you're right, the Seahawks last week. So because
of that, like in the Splash Sports one, this is
kind of interesting and the circle one lines with it. Again,
(15:32):
21,000 people to start. There are 5,600 left. So just
over 25% left. So if you haven't, if just a
generic entry is worth basically four X, you know what
it was because there's only a quarter of the, of
the field left. But Splash has added this thing where
(15:56):
there's a marketplace where people can buy or sell pieces
or entries in their entirety. I had a handful of entries.
I only have one left. However, the one I have left,
I think might be tied for the most valuable entry
left in the contest because the teams I have used
(16:19):
are the Raiders, the Panthers, and the Giants. So I've
used three teams that don't have a lot of future value.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Wow. That's a pretty good point.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
It's a great entry. Listen, there's 5,600 people left. It's
a hard contest to win. But it's a good entry
to not have burnt good teams.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
It's a good enough entry. I got a message. I'm
not selling it. Somebody wants to buy it. Guess what?
You got to pay me for it. First place. You
want to buy it? Whatever the first place payout is,
$ 21 million, you can have it. Otherwise, I'm riding this
thing to the end. But even though I didn't have
it listed for sale, I got a message yesterday. Someone
has offered me, it's so funny, $ 6, 000 for 80% of
(17:04):
the entry and control. So meaning I retain 20%, but
I'm like a non-voting shareholder. And so, but it's, but honestly,
I think that is, I think the entry by itself
is worth, probably right now, I don't know, maybe if
(17:27):
the average entry right now is worth like four grand
because it costs a thousand, there's only 25% of the
field left. I think this entry specifically is worth probably triple.
So I think that the guys that has a little
undersold doesn't matter. What's going to happen is I'm going
to pick the Vikings this week and Kyler Murray is
going to kill me and I'll be dead like that.
I mean, that's, that's, That's what's going to happen is
I'm going to pick the Vikings against the Dolphins. Malik
(17:49):
Willis is finally going to have a good game. Kyler
Murray is going to spin around and throw a pick,
and I'm going to die. But whatever it is, it's fun.
All right, let's talk other undefeated teams, Chiefs, Raiders.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
Your Chiefs are 3-0. The Raiders are 3-0. We talked
a little bit about on Tuesday about how long it's
been since the Chiefs and Raiders played a meaningful game.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
Are you nervous about the outcome of this game? I
know you said you weren't nervous about the fans.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
Yeah, I mean, listen, I think the Raiders are, I
don't think they're 3-0 good. I know they literally are
3-0 good, but I think they're a legit team. With
that said, Patrick has dominated the Raiders unlike he's dominated
(18:34):
any other team in the league. So Patrick is 13-2
against the Raiders. Now he's 14-2 against the Broncos. But
his numbers against the Broncos are actually middling. He has
a 92 passer rating, which is one of the lowest
against any team. He has 23 touchdowns, 13 picks. The
(18:54):
team has dominated the Broncos. Patrick's been good in those games.
Patrick's 5-0 against the Niners, including two Super Bowl victories.
But again, the stats are not eye-popping. Against the Los Angeles, Oakland,
Las Vegas Raiders, Patrick is 13-2 with 36 touchdowns and
(19:19):
5 interceptions. He has thrown for 4,500 yards. He has
a 108 rating. He averages almost 300 yards per game.
He also has some rushing touchdowns. He has absolutely dominated
this matchup. Now, this is a better than typical Raider team. Also,
(19:41):
it hasn't so much been a problem yet this year,
but historically, Spag's defenses can get got a little bit
by elite tight ends. Brock Bowers is the most elite
tight end in the league right now. Their secondary tight end,
Michael Mayer, who was a second-round pick for them a
(20:03):
couple years ago, he presents real problems as well. Max Crosby,
obviously a great player. One of the best edges in
the league. The Chiefs have done a good job keeping
Patrick clean. A lot of that's been the quit game stuff.
And because of that, the fact that they have an
(20:26):
undrafted rookie free agent left tackle hasn't really bit them yet.
Max Crosby is going to try to say something about that.
The Raider crowd will be lit for this game in
a way they haven't been into a home game yet.
in quite some time. All of that, all of those
are legitimate reasons for concern. Luckily, however, for the first
(20:50):
time in a couple years, this is a legitimately elite
Chiefs offense. And every single thing that I said was
going to be a knock-on effect of adding Kenneth Walker
(21:12):
has proven true. Kelsey has more space in the middle
of the field. All of a sudden, he looks the
best he's looked in three years and leads the entire
NFL in yards after catch. The play-action game with Patrick
is the best it has ever been. Rasheed Rice, I was, everyone,
(21:34):
you know, it was well-documented. the concerns about Rasheed Rice's
ability to be a professional and keep himself out of trouble.
I share some of those concerns. I am not worried
about Rasheed Rice, the player. I know he came into
camp looking slow and overweight. That's what happens when you
spend 30 days in county when you're rehabbing a knee injury.
(21:56):
I mean, that's literally what happened. Very understandable. You're an
elite athlete. You're supposed to be training, and you're getting
so much yard time. It's not great. But he is
rounding into form. Mahomes has been very publicly supportive and
(22:18):
I think privately supportive of Xavier Worthy. And he's saying, listen,
Xavier's been getting open. I haven't been seeing him. I
haven't been finding him. That is to me a concern point.
And if I were Xavier Worthy, I might be worried
about someone potentially taking my spot. More on that in
(22:38):
a moment. But in general, I think the Raiders are
a good team. I think the Chiefs right now are
the best team in the NFL. And I think that
this is a game Kansas City leads by seven points,
(23:00):
basically start to finish. So I.
It would not be shocking if the Raiders win this game,
but it would be surprising. And Kansas City, the ability
to be like, all right, we got through the first
month of the season. You know, fingers crossed. We suffered
(23:24):
no in-season significant new injuries. Patrick looks comfortable. The BNME
impact is real. Kenneth Walker is rolling. The defense is
going to be a work in progress. Like, defense played
its best game in week one. I actually think you
could argue it played its worst game, not allowing 30
(23:46):
to the Colts, but last week against Miami with all
those third downs. But Mansour Delane now back healthy. Like,
this is a really, really elite team. And a really
elite team can go on the road in a divisional
game and control the Las Vegas Raiders. then get a
week off, have a chance to officially end the Chargers season,
(24:07):
and then when I predicted the Chiefs would go 12-5,
part of that was a 5-0 start, and then after
the bye, what they have will be a either fully
desperate or already quit Chargers team. We'll have to see
how their next couple weeks go. And then in Seattle
and then in Denver, for two of the— Hardest road
(24:30):
games anybody plays all year. And then if you get
to 5-0 to Monza, you can lose those two and
be fine. If you get to 5-0 and you split
those two, you feel amazing. And if you get to
5-0 and you win those two, you're just unequivocally the
best team in the league. You lose this game and
(24:51):
all of a sudden there's a little more pressure post-bye
to make sure You go 2-1 in the Chargers at
Seahawks at Broncos stretch. So you don't get to 4-3
and all of a sudden you're in the middling muck
of the conference. So it's an important game. I expect
the Chiefs to win it. All right, I know you
have some follow-ups here.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
Any chance by the time you get to 5-0 that
Josh Simmons is back?
Speaker 1 (25:16):
So I... So listen, Andy gave a real update. He
finally told us what's going on. It's a bulging disc
in his back. Here is what I would... say about
it's painful. It's painful and it's particularly painful for an
offensive lineman because of the leverage piece of it. Because
you're so often.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Bend over all the time.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Well, you're almost leaning back. Again, me trying to do
an offensive lineman series is probably not the best thing
for people on YouTube. But it's just, I would imagine
of all the positions you can play, offensive or defensive line,
a back injury is the most impactful. Now, here's the
truth of it. If they thought he was going to
miss the first month, they would have put him on IR.
(26:01):
They didn't put him on IR. So I think this
is taking a little longer than they expected. With that said,
unless they totally misdiagnosed the situation, it now, it would
be surprising to me if he is not backed by
(26:23):
The Seahawks game at the latest. So he's going to
miss week four. Week five is a bye. Week six
is the Chargers. You would hope he's back for that.
But if he's not back for week seven in Seattle,
then not putting him on IR is a big mistake.
(26:44):
It was a big mistake. But the fact that we
got an update, and to me it quieted some of the, oh,
is this guy just not want to play football? Like,
Andy has made it clear. And I don't know, Josh.
Go ahead.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
Why did it take this long for it to actually
get out, though? I think it was fair for people
to kind of think that way. It was like, what's
going on?
Speaker 1 (27:05):
No, especially because of what happened last year where he
mysteriously left the team, or at least mysteriously publicly.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
It has been weird. I'm not going to act like
it hasn't been weird.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
I was about to say, it's still not even completely
clear of that, I feel like.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
No. I mean, that's totally fair and totally correct. But
Andy's disposition has not been of one that he's upset
or disappointed in the player. Now, maybe he's acting, but
I trust it.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
Coaches do.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
Right, and I also trust that the Chiefs maybe are
being incredibly cautious because they recognize how important he is.
But again, hold me to this. If he is not back,
my projected timeline would be he is hopefully practicing, at
(28:05):
least in some, Chargers week. maybe playing that week and
definitively playing Seahawks week. And if he is not playing
Seahawks week, then I feel like there is a, you
have to start being open to the possibility. He's out
for the year. And that would be a catastrophe. Might
(28:28):
be strong school. Benson's played well, but it would be
a devastating loss. All right.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
One other. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
It'd be nice to have him.
Speaker 4 (28:36):
All right.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
One other follow-up here.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
So Tyree tweeted out, I think I'm ready for some
cold weather. How confident are you that this was about
the Chiefs?
Speaker 1 (28:46):
I mean, it's about the Chiefs and he's going to
be a Chief. I mean, I've told you guys this
for three years. That people, whenever he would talk about
leaving Miami or whatever it was, I always circled. the
2026 season for Tyreek Hill to come back to the Chiefs. Now,
(29:06):
I did not know he was going to suffer a
catastrophic knee injury in Miami. I don't know the impact
he'll have, but I am going, I will go on
the record on this one as well.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
He's talking about Buffalo or something.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
He's not talking about Buffalo. If he comes back, he's coming. Listen,
I'm just going to go on the record on this.
The November 8th home game against the New York Jets.
I would expect, I would be surprised if Tyree Kill
(29:45):
does not make his Arrowhead Stadium return in that game.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (29:50):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (29:51):
So you guys can just mark this down. I would
circle November 8th against the Jets in Arrowhead against as
when Tyreek makes his Arrowhead Stadium return. Which is also
to say, Xavier Worthy, you've got like a month to
(30:11):
really show you deserve all these number one receiver snaps
you're getting. Because now you could say, and by the way,
if he does, then the loser, not loser, but the
person who gets dinged by them adding Tyreek, is Thornton.
Because then Tyreek would slide into that kind of third
(30:34):
receiver speed role that Thornton is playing. But right now,
Thornton's been good given his... Yes, he's been good given
limited options. But they are still playing Xavier like he's
the number one. He gets more snaps than any receiver.
He runs the number one receiver routes. And he just
hasn't been productive. Now, Patrick has been keeping the faith
(30:57):
in him, and the Chiefs don't give up on first-round picks,
and I still can't get over in my own head
how elite he was as a rookie in the postseason.
He was elite in that he was unbelievable in the
AFC championship game. And again, we were getting blown out,
but he was crazy productive in the Super Bowl. Last year,
(31:18):
he suffered that shoulder injury on the first drive of
the season, and it threw off his entire season. Hasn't
been the same since. And this year he hasn't been
the same. But clock's ticking because I do believe Tyreek's
coming back. All right, we've got other games to get to.
But first, I need to tell you guys about the
prediction market. You've heard about it. Bron's doing spots for him.
(31:41):
Jeter is. So is your buddy Nick Wright. Polymarket. It's
the best way to trade in sports. In the past,
if you wanted action on the game, you'd put some
money in. And if your team was doing well, and
you wanted to cash out, they'd lock in the trade
or take a huge fee. It's why I always told
you guys about that cash out button and not clicking it.
Polymarket's different though, it's prediction market. The best analogy I
(32:04):
can give you, it's like a stock exchange for sports.
Buying in and selling out on your own terms. I've
tried all the prediction markets and Polymarket is simply the
best prediction market out there. Name another one, Polymarket, has
a better prediction market than they do. They're so confident,
(32:24):
you'll never go back to the other guys. They're giving
you a free $ 25 on your first trade when you
deposit just $ 10. And they've launched a new feature, Squads,
a group chat, where you can see what everyone in
your squad is trading on. So download the Polymarket app today.
Use code Nick Wright, N-I-C-K-W-R-I-G-H-T, when you sign up. That's
(32:47):
code Nick Wright, To get $ 25 free after you deposit
just $ 10.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
18 plus only. Restrictions and eligibility requirements apply. Not available
in all jurisdictions. Trading is risky. 100% loss can occur.
See polymarket.com slash TOS for more information. The Polymarket US
app serves as an independent software provider and affiliate of

Speaker 1 (33:17):
All right, let's, Demondze, quickly talk about the Thursday night
football game before we get to the trade that one
of these teams made today.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Yeah, we got a good divisional Thursday night football game,
Pittsburgh at Cleveland. Cleveland is two and a half point
home dogs. Do we think that Vegas has this correct? Obviously,
they're on a little bit of a heater. They're picking
up some momentum. Watson's moving up. How do we feel
about this game?
Speaker 2 (33:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
Yeah, listen, I think Pittsburgh being road favorites is correct.
I honestly... would, if this were eligible for Knicks picks,
this is one that I like. I like Pittsburgh laying
the two and a half. I think that people didn't really,
and I don't blame them for this, but watch much
(34:05):
of Panthers-Browns if their takeaway was, oh, is Deshaun Watson,
you know, did he string together back-to-back good games? He
did not. Listen, Deshaun Watson, the football player, deserves credit
for how he played in week two. Week two, Deshaun
(34:26):
Watson was actually good. It was the first time he's
been actually good in years. Week three, Deshaun Watson was
decidedly mid. He threw the ball 30 times for less
than 150 yards. The scatter plot of his attempts, it's
all just dink and dunk. It's all scheme by Munkin.
And listen, They won. They beat a Panthers team that's
(34:50):
been frisky. But the story of that game, DeMondsey, was
the Browns defense that held in check what had been
a very good Panthers offense. Like, the Panthers offense had
been cooking, and they held Tett McMillan to just 17 yards. Like,
the Browns defense and Jared Verse and Mason Graham, who
(35:12):
Mason Graham, remember, is the player they used with the pick.
they traded for Travis Hunter and Mason Graham's been unbelievable
this year. And Travis Hunter is coming off his best moment,
but that obviously is a trade that at the moment,
the Browns won Mason Graham in that Panthers game had
three tackles for loss plus two sacks, which so on
(35:35):
the season, he has gotten a sack in every game.
He has had tackles for loss in every game. He's
been awesome as a big D tackle. So the story
was the Browns' defense. With that said, I think the
Steelers have the better defense of the two teams. I
(35:57):
think the Steelers' defense... They're not going to miss Joey
Porter Jr. He hasn't played for them all year. If
you're like, what are you talking about? He was traded
to the Cowboys this morning. We'll talk about that in
a second. And so I think the Steelers' defense... can
really stifle the Browns offense. And again, as irritating as
(36:22):
the guy can be at times, I will give credit
where it is due. Aaron Rodgers, after playing incredibly poorly,
like wildly poorly in the first two weeks, was outstanding
in week three against the Bengals. And it was outstanding
(36:42):
because he was willing to throw the ball down the field.
And the Steelers offense as a whole, Jalen Warren Demanze
ran 17 times for a buck 27 and had a
90-yard run wiped away.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
So he almost had 18 for 220. So he was
doing great. The Steelers defense forced the key turnover of
Burrow at the end of the game. So I like
the Steelers tonight. I almost... I almost had them in
place of the Vikings as my survivor pick. But it
(37:18):
just felt like a road divisional game would be foolish.
But I just know Kyler's just going to somehow just
ruin me. I'm pre-mourning that survivor pick. I mean, Minnesota
should win that game by 20, just based on Flores'
defense against that Miami offense. But I have already... come
(37:42):
to terms that I'm not going to make it out
of the first week of October in Survivor because I
picked a 10-point favorite, Minnesota Vikings. So, all right, that's enough.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
21 million dollars.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
Yeah, I mean, exactly. You know what? Never mind. I'm
not saying that. Let's talk about the trade.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
Yeah, so the Steelers traded Joey Porter Jr.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
To the Cowboys late last night. Dallas allows the 30th
most yards in the league. Do you think that this
helps them at all?
Speaker 1 (38:14):
Listen, it definitely helps them. And sometimes we talk about
win-win trades. I actually think this is a lose-lose trade.
So let me talk first about the Cowboys. The Cowboys
didn't want to pay Micah. I can't get over it.
(38:35):
I'm sorry. $ 45 million a year. So they traded him away.
for two first round picks. They have since then traded
a first and a couple seconds to be able to
pay Quinnen Williams and ostensibly Joey Porter around $ 65 million
(39:01):
a year. Now, they're waiting on to pay Joey Porter,
but you don't trade a second and a sixth for
a guy to play for you for a dozen games.
They're doing it because they want to extend him. They're
going to extend him at the top of the market,
so he'll be $ 30 million a year. Quentin Williams is
more than $ 30 million a year. So you're net even
(39:24):
on draft capital. You somehow, in the Quinn and Williams
trade allowed the Jets. The Jets got a second and
next year's first. But the first they got, they get
to pick DeMonte. This is like, did we talk about this?
The Jets get, so the Jets, it's kind of NBA style.
(39:48):
The Jets get to pick which first-round pick they are
getting from Dallas, whether they're getting Dallas' first or Green
Bay's first, that Green Bay owes Dallas for Micah. So
they'll take the better of them. So the Jets next year,
right now, have their own first-round pick, have the Colts'
(40:09):
first-round pick from the Sauce Gardner trade, and either the Cowboys,
who are 1-2, or the Packers, who are 1-2 and
look awful, their first-round pick. So it is absolutely on
the board that the Jets, in this upcoming draft, have, like, picks.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
6, 8, and 10.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
Well, here's my real galaxy brain question. If this Chargers
year goes terrible... If the Jets call up the Chargers
and say, we will give you three, not future picks,
(40:55):
three picks you can use right now. Three first, if
the Jets have three top 12 picks, can they get,
and if you're the Jets, you're like, hey, we're not
crippling our ability to compete with Herbert in the future
because we're not trading any future years draft picks. You
know what? Like the, that they could have, I mean,
(41:19):
the Packers could be drafting in the top six. The
Jets themselves could be drafting in the top six. The
Colts could be drafting in the top six. Now, will
they all be driving the top six?
Speaker 4 (41:28):
No.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
But do I expect all three of those teams to
miss the playoffs? Absolutely. So then they're all drafting in
the top 18. Do I expect at least two of
those three teams to be really bad?
Speaker 4 (41:40):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Like, But that was not really the trade I'm supposed
to be talking about. So the Cowboys didn't want to
trade a game-wrecking player. Or didn't want to pay a
game-wrecking player. So they traded him. And now they are
paying two players, neither of whom are game-wreckers, but are
(42:05):
good players, 50% more than they could have paid the one.
I think it's a mistake. And for the Steelers... The
Steelers have this archaic business model, DeMondsey, where they won't
guarantee money into future years for any players that aren't quarterbacks. Now,
(42:31):
they broke that rule for T.J. Watt, but they wouldn't
break it for Joey Porter Jr., And so they wouldn't
break it for George Pickens. Now, Pickens, I get it, actually.
But because of that, if the Steelers won't change the
way they do business, then drafting great players for them
(42:53):
makes those great players rentals.
Speaker 3 (42:55):
Isn't that like a direct correlation with how they're always made?
Speaker 2 (43:01):
Well, maybe. If that's the way that they operate.
Speaker 1 (43:04):
Well, and.
I guess there's a pro and a con to that.
Maybe because that's the way they do business, they never
get tied to brutal contracts that kneecap them, which raise
their floor. But also because of the way they do business,
it's hard for them to retain their young, homegrown talent
(43:25):
because nobody accepts, no great young player accepts a contract
that doesn't have guarantees after the first year. And so
they broke that rule for TJ Watt because TJ Watt
was too great of a player. Listen, he's a future
first ballot hall of fame player, but Joey Porter jr's
dad was a Steelers legend. You drafted him. He's not, listen,
(43:49):
I want to be clear. He's not a great player.
I thought he kind of overplayed his hand during this
holdout a little bit, to be honest with you, but
you want to keep him, you need a corner. And
so I don't, For the Cowboys, I think this is
the long tail of the mistake of trading Micah. And
for the Steelers, I think this is another sign that
(44:09):
they do some of this business poorly. The Cowboys got
a little better, though. For the short term, for this year,
it helps the Cowboys. There's no doubt about it. The
defense has been awful. Christian Parker has not had great
early returns. They need him to be better. They need
(44:31):
that defense to be better. I just think it's poor business.
All right, before we get to Rams-Eagles, let me tell
you guys about one of my favorite sponsors, SeatGeek. The
NFL season's officially kicked off. to want to give its
sponsor today's show a huge shout out, SeatGeek. Over 35
million downloads, SeatGeek is the number one rated ticketing app
(44:54):
and it should be. It is flatly the best way
to buy tickets to concerts, sports, music festivals, and more.
I've never been to a music festival, but I bought
a ton of concert tickets on there, mostly for my
wife and daughters, and I bought Countless sporting event tickets
on there. I bought US Open tickets on there. I just,
(45:16):
the other day before she went back to college, bought
Mets tickets for my daughter before their season ended so
she could go to a game. I was on there
last night looking at Game 3 Yankees tickets for tonight.
The Yankees won, so there is no Game 3. But
producer of the show, Hubs, he's trying to be a
(45:38):
little slick. Text me was like, Hey, what do you
think about the Yankee game Thursday night? And I think
he knows that like, if I say yes to that
and it's like, all right, hubs, it's your turn. You
get the tickets. I'm not sitting where hubs wants to sit.
I'm going to get the tickets. I'm going to get
them on seat geek. I'm going to get a good deal,
but the game is not happening. It doesn't matter. Point
is this seat. Geek's the only way I get tickets.
(45:59):
You guys know this. I've shown you the big red,
the big little red dots are bad. Big green dots
are good. They also, if you're colorblind, they have a
numerical scale. A 10 is good, a one is bad.
And every ticket is backed by their buyer guarantee. And
of course, got a code for you guys. You can
use code WRITE10. WRITE10 for 10% off your next set
of tickets at SeatGeek. That's 10% off any tickets with
(46:22):
promo code WRITE10. Click the link in the description to
download the app and have the code automatically added to
your account so you can use it later. Thank you
to SeatGeek. All right, Demanze. Let's talk Rams-Eagles.
Speaker 3 (46:36):
Two teams we had high expectations for coming off some
weird losses. Philly coming off an ugly one. The Rams,
you could argue, probably got that one stolen from them.
Between these two teams, who do you think needs to
win the most for the vibes?
Speaker 1 (46:51):
Man, both. I know that sounds like a cop-out.
Speaker 2 (46:55):
It's a tough one.
Speaker 1 (46:56):
But it is panic time in either whoever loses. If
the Rams fall to 1-3 to Monzae, staring at a
Week 5 game against Buffalo, I'm nervous now. Like, I
(47:17):
don't care how good you are. If you're 1-4 with
still two Seahawks games left, a Niners game left, a
Chiefs game left, like.
You can just, you're one, you know, one bad loss,
(47:38):
more bad loss away from, holy shit, are we going
to miss the playoffs? And I understand they're only one
and two right now, but I'm saying if they lose
this game, the Bills game is absolutely losable. You're staring
at one and four. And, you know, the no Miles
Garrett thing hurts them. They do think Puka's coming back
(47:59):
for this game, but I'm nervous about that. I thought Stafford,
after looking so good in week two and looking sharp
for a lot of week three, that pick six was
just rookie mistake level bad. So, you know, must win
(48:23):
for the Rams. The Eagles, on the other hand, I
don't want to, I want to make sure I actually
believe this. Because I said it on the TV. I
don't ever say anything intentionally, I don't believe, on the
TV show or here. But sometimes I say something and
I'm like, oh, I got that wrong. I don't know
(48:46):
that the Philadelphia Eagles have played a game that they
thought they played their A-level game on both sides of
the ball for four quarters since the Super Bowl. I
don't know if they did it one time last year.
And so far this year, they definitively have not done it.
Week one against Washington was closer than it should have been.
(49:09):
Week two at the Titans, they needed Jalen Hurts to
save them and pull it out of the fire. And
week three against Case Keenum and the Bears was one
of the worst performances any team had all year. I...
They now play the Rams and then go to London
(49:29):
to play the Prince. Can... Can the Eagles look good, please?
You guys know my critiques of Sirianni. I don't have
to go further on that. I have been, honestly, most
disappointed about the defense. When I picked them to Monzae
to go to the Super Bowl, yes, in part because
(49:50):
LeBron James now plays in Philadelphia, and I thought it
was good vibes for the city. However, there was a
football reason, which was I thought they were going to
have the number one defense in the NFL. That defense
has been mediocre. Washington scored 22. The Titans scored 20.
Chicago and Case Keenum scored 27. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (50:12):
That's been pretty bad, too.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
No. So here's the thing on Hurts.
Speaker 2 (50:20):
Hurts putting up. Did he not throw a pick six?
Speaker 1 (50:24):
The Titans game, he was playing terrible. Terrible. And then...
had an 80-yard drive at the end of the game
to win him the game through a game-winning touchdown. Like,
the Titans dared him to pass. He took the dare.
The Titans were winning, and then he got the last laugh.
And he obviously was not good in week three. But
(50:47):
I didn't think, where my, you know, I have a
complicated relationship with Hurts because I do respect the clutch
part And I, you know, his resume performs. Yeah. And
unlike Sirianni, I do feel like his resumes is right.
Sirianni's got a very similar resume to Hertz, but I
(51:08):
just know marrow deep in my bone. Sirianni is not
a very good coach. I just know it. Um, Hertz
to me is more complicated, but point I'm making is
if you were to tell me Jalen Hertz in the
first three weeks of the year, new offensive coordinator, no
AJ Brown, no some changes on the offensive line, Jalen
(51:30):
Hurts was going to struggle the first three weeks of
the year. I would have said, okay, no problem.
Speaker 2 (51:35):
That's fair.
Speaker 1 (51:36):
Because they are going up against Washington and that brutal
offensive line, Tennessee and that brutal team. And then again,
Chicago would have worried me if Caleb were playing, but
it's like, and by the way, when they play Chicago,
they want to have Caleb or Bajent. They'll have Case Keenum.
I would have said, okay, the Eagles defense can carry
(52:00):
them to the opening stretch. Instead, Washington had a two-point
conversion to force overtime. Tennessee had a lead with 30
seconds left, and Chicago killed them. So it is, to me,
panic time now.
Speaker 2 (52:21):
When that type of thing happens, it's got to be
the vibes.
Speaker 3 (52:24):
When you go out there and lose to Chicago the
way you did, I don't even know if you can
blame it. Does the team like each other? What's going
on out here?
Speaker 1 (52:34):
They just didn't look prepared. Maybe I'm being unfair to Sirianni.
I'm putting that on Sirianni. The only time they scored
a touchdown was when Jalen kind of took it upon
himself at the end of the first half. It's not
panic time in Philadelphia yet, but whomever loses this game,
it's time to panic. That's how I feel about it.
All right, let's talk Burrow and Trevor Jags-Bengals, please.
Speaker 3 (52:56):
Ever since that comeback stat was brought up about Joe Burrow,
there's been some.
Speaker 2 (52:59):
Talks how good really is he. You have.
Speaker 3 (53:04):
Him above Trevor, or you have Trevor above Burrow in
the tiers. How close do you think we are to
that becoming a public opinion?
Speaker 1 (53:14):
Listen, I don't think Burrow... Is really taking a PR hit.
And I don't think he deserves to. I do think that.
His mark. I think he has been. I think the
marketing around Joe Burrow has been inaccurate. The marketing is.
(53:37):
That he's like Mr.
Speaker 2 (53:38):
Clutch.
Speaker 1 (53:40):
And that has not been the case. It's not that
he's been bad. Like. He hasn't had comeback wins, but
his teams never blow leads. He doesn't appear to get
tight in big spots. But that 1-34 stat is what
it is. The fact that you have one comeback victory
in the final eight minutes of the fourth quarter in
(54:00):
your whole career is jarring. But that also means the
team basically is damn near undefeated when they have a
lead in the final eight minutes. Like, they, you know,
they are... He's been fine this year. Their first two
wins of the year, he was not great. He was fine.
(54:22):
The defense was the story. Their third game of the year,
he was great until the final play, the biggest play,
when he got a little greedy. He got wrapped up
for a sack, and instead of going down, his fumble
was not he got strip-sacked or blindsided. He got wrapped up.
(54:44):
And instead of going down, kept fighting. And that's when
they hit the ball out. That's a mistake. He's obviously
a great player. So if the Prince rises alongside him
or above him, it will, in my opinion, be less
about Burrow's fall and more about Trevor's ascension. Because Trevor
(55:07):
has just flatly been excellent for... Months now, dating back
to last season. He threw a bad pick to lose
the Broncos game. There's no doubt about it. With that said, DeMondse,
in his last, God, dozen regular season games, not dozen,
(55:31):
that's incorrect, last nine regular season games, they're 8-1. He's
got 22 touchdowns, three picks, and a 111 rating. You
take it to his last 11 regular season games. They're
10 and one. He's got a 107 rating, 26 touchdowns,
(55:52):
seven picks. Like he's just been excellent. And in that
playoff game, listen, he threw a bad pick at the
end of it. He is prone to the, don't clip this.
Speaker 4 (56:05):
All right.
Speaker 1 (56:05):
Cause I'm, I'm the Trevor Lawrence guy. Well, let's just
call us. Let's just be honest. You know the stereotype of, like,
really good-looking surfer blondes? Might be true here. I'm just...
(56:26):
You know, of all the starting quarterbacks in the league,
where would he be on my pick if I had
to build, like, a.
Speaker 2 (56:33):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (56:36):
NFL quarterback family feud team? Probably pretty low.
Speaker 2 (56:40):
I mean, so.
Speaker 1 (56:42):
He's prone to some, you know, airhead stuff at times.
But he's awesome. He's super tough. He's huge. He has
amazing talent. He's got a big arm. He is, and
I've said it before, I will say it again, who
the media thought Justin Herbert was going to be. Except
(57:04):
he was better than Herbert in high school. He was
better than Herbert in college. He has had... higher NFL
peaks than Herbert. He just has had way lower valleys
than Herbert. And Liam Cohen's an awesome coach. And so
I think Trevor is entering the consensus opinion elite quarterback discussion.
(57:32):
And it's not Joe Burrow's spot he would take. It
would be Drake May's spot he would be taking. We'll
get to May in a second. But first, you ever
notice how everything keeps going up? Rents going up. Streaming
services going up. Your favorite burrito spots charging you extra
for salsa. It's outrageous. Not with Boost Mobile. With Boost Mobile,
you and your phone bill don't have to play the
(57:53):
will this go up soon game. Why? Why? Because Boost
Mobile has unlimited talk, text, and data plan at a
price that'll never go up. In fact, it's the same
price you pay for life. So switch now for unlimited
wireless at a price that'll never go up, only at
Boost Mobile. After 30 gigs, customers may experience lower speeds.
Customers will pay $ 25 per month as long as they
(58:15):
remain active on the Boost Unlimited plan. All right, Demondze,
let's talk Pat's Bills.
Speaker 3 (58:22):
Yeah, rough downfall for New England. Obviously, four games ago
they were in the Super Bowl. They are now 31st
in the NFL's power rankings. There's rumors swirling about May
and Vrabel's relationship, and they have a bounce-back game coming
up against Buffalo, divisional. Things are not looking good for
New England. Do you see things going up?
Speaker 2 (58:48):
No, I don't.
Speaker 1 (58:49):
I think the Bills are going to slaughter them. I
want to talk about Drake May's shoulder for a moment.
Because there's... Here are... I'm going to try to lay
out all of the viable options here because none of
them are good. And these are not in order of any,
(59:12):
this is in no order other than how they occurred
to me. Option one, Drake May suffered such a significant
shoulder injury in the AFC Championship game that Nine months later,
(59:33):
he is still feeling the effects from it. The Patriots
were negligent in not treating it with the attention it
deserved in the offseason. May did a poor job rehabbing it,
and the Patriots have repeatedly over the course of the
(59:59):
season lied on their injury reports, not having him listed
one time until yesterday as dealing with a shoulder injury.
And Mike Vrabel had constantly lied about his quarterback's throwing
shoulder being significantly hampered up until they put him on
(01:00:22):
the injury report seemingly begrudgingly yesterday after he alluded to
it in the media. And it is something he'll be
dealing with all year. And it's the reason he's been
so bad. That's one of the options. That's a terrible option,
(01:00:42):
by the way. That's awful. Option two. Drake May got
banged up in the AFC championship game. And it did
impact him in the Super Bowl. With that said, in
that Super Bowl, in the fourth quarter of that Super Bowl,
He threw the deep ball super well, threw for 230
(01:01:04):
some yards all off season, acted and talked as if
he were a healthy player. And that hit has nothing
to do with the fall off in his performance, which
you started to see before the AFC championship game in
his playoff performances in the wild card and divisional round.
(01:01:26):
And he is simply in a slump. A young player slump.
That's one of the options. Another option is this. The
reason the Patriots did not call him an injured player
was because they don't feel like he's an injured player.
(01:01:46):
And these rumors of a rift between he and Vrabel,
whether true or not, the genesis of them are the
team being a little frustrated that he is potentially, or
his people are leaking to the media, you know he's hurt.
(01:02:11):
So when he gets asked about it, instead of simply saying, no,
my shoulder's fine, he can talk around it while not
blaming the shoulder, creating more questions around the shoulder, which
then forced the Patriots hand because not reporting a starting
(01:02:32):
quarterback's throwing arm injury can cost you draft picks and
certainly can cost you money forcing their hand into putting
him on the injury report. That's not a great option either.
Then there is the And this is maybe a little
(01:02:53):
bit like option two, the one that I feel is
the case. Drake May is a very talented young player
who last year, thanks to over the first 10 games
of the year, being on a pretty unsustainable hot streak
on deep passes, where he was 12 of 16 for
(01:03:15):
a 150 rating, five touchdowns, no picks, had nothing. Somewhat
inflated statistics. Those deep passing numbers came down, by the way,
in November of last year, way before he ever took
that hit in the AFC title game. That, combined with
a lack of film of Drake May and Josh McDaniel's system,
(01:03:39):
combined with the softest schedule any team has played this century,
made Drake May look like he already was an A-plus player.
when in reality, he was not quite there yet. He
then had real struggles in the postseason, and that combined
(01:03:59):
with the disastrous fourth quarter of the first game of
the year, culminating in a terrible, terrible interception when his
team had a field goal in the bag, has put
Drake May in an absolutely brutal spot mentally. And the
(01:04:21):
only injury he is suffering with right now is a
psychological one. It is something that his head coach, Mike Vrabel,
is acutely aware of and worried about, which is why
you see him almost fatherly on the sideline trying to
build his confidence back up. And Drake May's biggest problem
(01:04:42):
right now is that he is questioning himself. That's what
I think is going on. Regardless of who's right or wrong,
none of that is a recipe to beat the Bills.
Because the way to beat the Bills, DeMondse, is to
(01:05:02):
throw on them. To throw down the field. Romeo Dobbs
has been one of the worst acquisitions any team made
in the league all year. A.J. Brown is injured. The
Patriots offensive line is banged up. The Bills are going
to score points. I think this is, if people thought
(01:05:22):
last week 31-6 to the Jags was rock bottom, I
got news for you. Dig a little deeper because I
think losing to a Bills team that it was this
game last year, week four at one and two, beating
the Bills that announced the Patriots were for real. I
(01:05:45):
think this game this year, week four at one and
two against the Bills, is going to announce this season
might not be salvageable. So that's where I land on
Pat's Bills. I don't know if you have thoughts. I
went long there.
Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
Oh, no, I mean, I don't have too many thoughts.
That is crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
The shoulder thing, that's unfortunate if that is the case
and it hasn't been reported.
Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
If he really is hurt, that's.
Speaker 1 (01:06:13):
Here's the thing. For the team to not treat a
starting quarterback's injured throwing shoulder would be so insane that
I can't even... It doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
They're not a negligent organization.
Speaker 1 (01:06:37):
I think he can't figure out why he's playing so poorly.
And he's grasping. That's how I feel this thing actually is.
That should have given you a big hint as to
whether or not Bills minus six and a half is
going to be in Nick's picks. Red hot Nick's picks.
