Today on The Jason Smith Show, Arnie Spanier and Chris Plank are in for Jason and Mike! The guys open the show with a lighthearted discussion on the Thanksgiving slate of NFL games! Will Tua finally beat the "can't play in cold weather" allegations? Will anyone be tuned in for Bears/Lions? Later, they get into Cowboys owner Jerry Jones giving head coach Mike McCarthy a public vote of confidence on his weekly radio hit. With Dallas's season ending in heartbreak year after year, Arnie and Plank wonder whether Jerry might be loyal to a fault. Finally, they react to Aaron Rodgers' most recent comments on the Pat McAfee Show. Rodgers spoke on his NFL future, including whether he plans to play next year, and whether or not that would be for the Jets. Should the Jets even want Rodgers back? The guys discuss whether the future Hall-of-Famer ought to just call it a career at season's end.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Oh, let's go, stinking lads, go big boy. I know
they were gonna say our name for a minute there.
I thought they were just gonna say Jason Smith's and
Mike Carmon. I was gonna do my Mike Carmen and
the impersonation.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
Let me hear it. What is your Mike Carmen in person?
You have a Mike Carmen impersonation?

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Hi, I went to Northwestern. I'm smarter than everybody else.
That's pretty good. Thank you, Pretty good man. I could
do a Jason Smith. Let's go Jets, Let's go Syracuse.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
Okay, all right, that's that's not bad.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Now they're gonna hate me to hate me now, I know.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Their fans are gonna come after you tonight on Twitter, which,
by the way, let's just throw it out there. That's
the best way to get in touch with us throughout
the night tonight, regardless of when you tune in, when
you catch the show. Heck, even if you're listening in
podcast form at Stinking Genius One. That's Arnie's Twitter feed.
I'm at Plank Show, but everybody should be following us

(01:22):
at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
Martin White's gonna be along. He's got updates all night long.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
As you heard Ian Roddy Mary Mack back in the
tire rack dot Com studios. But before we talk about
tire we got two major developing stories here, Arnie span you' number.

Speaker 5 (01:36):
One, Yes, down go your knicks. That was kind of
ugly tonight, man.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
It was especially with with all the people sitting down
for Dallas. I mean it was a shock that they
have not even come close to their stride.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
I don't know what's going on with them at all.
You know, you mean your your knicks, not that the maps, right.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
The Nicks the next next, Yeah, it's I haven't quite
got a feel yet. Maybe this is something I noticed
that I did it good. You'd be proud of me.
Tonight I wrote down all the Roman numerals. I noticed
that Roman numeral fourteen in the Roman numeral rundown. Yeah,
it's a little NBA ratings talk. Yeah, so maybe later
in the program we can dive into a little bit

(02:16):
more NBA.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
But of and I did add Roman numeral number twenty one,
which will be my Arizona Wildcats against your Oklahoma. Well
that's what I was getting too big story.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
I mean, come on, man, hang with me. Here. Is
that tomorrow or is that.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Friday that's going to I thought tomorrow?

Speaker 5 (02:33):
Five minute? How you go?

Speaker 3 (02:35):
This is why I wanted us to go down to
the Bahamas.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
Is a show?

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Do this show down there, Arizona, Oklahoma. We could have
had some fun, hung out a little bit good, got
ourselves a couple of Swedes.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
Fine, I'm fine watching it here?

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Why Why?

Speaker 4 (02:52):
Because I don't want to miss college football. I don't
want to miss the NFL. I'm fine, I'm good. If
my point is if I had to go the which again,
you're right, it would be beautiful. It would be awesome
to watch Oklahoma play Arizona. And what is that the
battle for Atlantis? Is that what they call it in
the Battle for Atlantis. By the way, kudos to college

(03:13):
basketball for being incredibly more entertaining and relevant in my
world right now than the NBA.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
But I digress.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
They've got great early season matchups, which for some reason,
I feel like the Maui Invitational and that Bad Battle
for Atlantis and the h we got the bad Boy Mowers.
I think that's also the Battle for Atlantis. Right, you
got all these great matchups going on.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
But come on, I couldn't. I could have missed.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
I would have had to miss O you Alabama fun Saturday.
Can't afford that, especially with how things went down, right.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
I mean, I know, I know, I know. It's just
so much fun. You know, these these tournaments. It's like
just for the rich and famous alumni that they could
get to take a trip for a week away and
pretend like they're doing something so they could write it off.
That's that's really what it's all about. But it would
have been fun. I would have had all your time.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Man one O four to seventy one. Arizona took care
of Davidson today. Oklahoma just snuck by Providence this afternoon,
so I think it was like a one point game.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
But yeah, so there.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
I don't know what you people want to talk about tonight,
but Arnie, I don't know if there's anything that gets
much bigger than that, baby.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
Well it is.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
It's also coming up on black Fry. Did you do
any shopping today? Did you buy anything sports wise?

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Or you're for getting You're getting all your timing screwed
up here, Arnie. You got to hold off just a
bit as we come to you live from the tirack
dot com studios. Tirack dot com will help you get
there an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection,
over ten thousand recommended installers tire rack dot com. The
way tire buying should be. Just just hold on because today, well,

(04:46):
Ian Roddy is our most recent college grad. I think,
what do they call this drinksgiving tonight?

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Is that right? Friendsgiving? Friend? Nope?

Speaker 4 (04:55):
Come on, dude, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, whenever everyone comes
back from Kyle and the bars are packed and the
party is on, come off.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
I don't know if I've ever heard it called that,
but I just made them with it. Oh yeah, I'm
with it. Let's let's let me go. Yeah, let's trade it.
Market Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. Mary Mac, I'm sure knows
about this. I know, okay, it's the party night, Artie.
It's when everyone gets together your throat Now.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Obviously as a forty nine year old, I don't need indigestion,
so I won't be doing that tonight during the show.
But that's tonight, Tomorrow's Thanksgiving. Then you worry about Black
Friday on Friday? Why are you worried about Black Friday?
I'm on the day before Thanksgiving?

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Well, you do. You get to shop now for Black Friday.
The timers taking you see these deals on Black Friday,
they go, you.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
Got two days left.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Otherwise you're not gonna You're gonna pay a million more
dollars for anything you want to buy. So I get
all panicky about that. But it is tonight. It's the
biggest party of the night of the year. I used
to I used to love this time, man. I would
never go back home though. When I was in college.
I get together with all my fred buddies and we
take a trip with like we read an RV and
go to Vegas or drive up into the Sequoias or something.

(06:05):
We do something nutty. It's just absolutely fun.

Speaker 7 (06:08):
People willingly sat in a car with you.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
No, we read an RV. We'd get an RVs.

Speaker 7 (06:13):
Willingly sat an RV with you.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yeah, well it's pretty big man. Need to get one
of those sleep Hey, yeah, come on now, party party.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
I by the way, if you if you just needed
more information, Ian this is how shocked I was. Drinks
Giving actually has a Wikipedia page, because apparently tonight is
awful also, and this is terrible, referred to as blackout Wednesday,
but it's also in some cities the worst drunk driving

(06:42):
night on the air. So let's take a moment while
we're having fun with this. There are way too many
options out there with ubers and lifts and calling mom
and dad or calling friends. Don't drink and dry. We're
gonna be on through the prime drinking hours. And some
of Arnie's takes it might lead you to drink, and
I know some of mine well. But if you're out

(07:02):
and about, Colin Uber, call a cab, call a lyft, whatever,
don't get behind the wheel if you've been drinking.

Speaker 5 (07:09):
It's the worst mistake you could possibly make. Thank you,
Mary Mack. Where do you want to start?

Speaker 4 (07:13):
You always thow the tweet up, but You've got so
much goodness on the Roman Numeral rundown. Now we hit
the fun of the of your Knick salues and I'm
getting to watch my thunder tonight during the game. We've
got the Maui Invitational third place game between Michigan State
and North Carolina. But yet here i am on this
Thanksgiving Eve, Arnie, I feel like I'm being drawn more
towards the NFL and what might be you know, a

(07:36):
less instellar first two games for Thanksgiving, but a prime
time matchup that is I think very intriguing. Even though
your Dolphins are under five hundred, they've been like a
different team with Twoatago Aloa. I just feel like I'm
being pulled towards the NFL right now.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Yeah, you know that Thursday and Friday's games in the
NFL far from entertaining. I mean, like you.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
Said, three of the four.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
You figure out you know who's going to win the
game ahead of time. And then there's the Miami Green
Bay game. And I'm actually shocked, and I brought this
up when we were on Sunday, that green Bay was
only a three and a half point favored over Miami.
You hear so much about the weather. And I you know,
I hear people arguing on Twitter. It's not like everybody
on the Dolphins was born in Florida, lived in Florida,

(08:21):
college in Florida.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
I know that. But the numbers are the numbers.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
And it's not like Tua has played in cold weather
games a lot and when he does, he loses. Remember
I what was the game was up in Kansas City? Yeah,
it was negative one hundred degrees. I mean, yeah, it's
unfit to live in and we're playing football games and
weather like that. So the weather's not going to be
nearly as bad as it was in the Kansas City game,

(08:46):
but it's still gonna be cold on a short work week,
and of course the Dolphins are going to have to travel,
so it's gonna be tough, tough.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
I found. Well, let's let's let's go ahead. Put a
caveat in here on this, okay.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
And I just want to make this point because Arnie
and I do a show every single Sunday night from
ten to two ten p to two a. We recap
the NFL and all the days, and it depends on
kind of how you look at it. We either wrap
up the weekend or kick off the week, right, you
choose Mary mack is our is our director, and she's
here tonight so she can attest to this as well.

(09:20):
But Arnie, you are the same person that before that
Kansas City Chiefs game in the weather where you talk
about now it's too cold that no one should have
been playing. We're leading up to that game. And I
hate to remind you of this because you don't like
to have your awards.

Speaker 5 (09:33):
Held against you.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
No, you didn't say weather doesn't matter, and it doesn't
matter how cold it is, We're gonna beat him.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
I don't know if you remember that.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
But I don't remember that part. Yeah, I don't get it.
But the weather, the weather in Green Bay is that
nearly like that though, Chris, So don't get all high
and mighty, and so it's only gonna be in the twenties.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
Only do you know what? The cold? You know what?
The only in the twenties. It's gonna feel like seventeen
with the wind show out of the north, the ones
that didn't miles per hour.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
You want to know what's so funny here? It's like
about thirty five forty And I went and went outside
to get my mail, and I'm like, whoo, and I
only had a sweatshirt and long sleeve shirt and I go, oh,
I'm cold, man, I've better run back home. This is
getting a little tough out there, but you know, it's
gotta be tough. But I wouldn't try to be a
tough guy with the no undershirt and let my arms
all bear anything like that. I've I'd wear like four

(10:25):
shirts if I were those players.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
So there is the I was reading an article that's
on the Miami Dolphins. I guess it's like one of
the team pages for SI, and they point out, hey,
tua in and the Dolphins are oho and six when
it's forty six degrees and colder, right forty six. But
their take is that's misleading because if you think about it,

(10:52):
six games span over what now four seasons, it's not
the greatest sample size. But I mean it's just it's
not as if he played all that terribly in those games.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
Right, you go back to and last week is our
last week. Excuse me?

Speaker 4 (11:11):
Last year is a little bit of an anomaly, right,
I just think it was minus twenty seven was the
wind shill? There were in nineteen mile an hour winds
whenever they played Kansas City in the playoffs. I don't
know how anyone accomplished anything that night, and I've got
your back. But when they played Buffalo, he was seventeen
of thirty for twenty and thirty four yards and two touchdowns,

(11:33):
didn't have a pick. Josh Allen was better. You lost
that game thirty two to twenty nine, you know. So
it's not as if he's been terrible in some of
these cold weather games, aren't he as long as it's
not you know, negative degrees and you don't have any
parcipitation or any any weather that's gonna be incredibly windy,

(11:53):
which it doesn't look like. I'm kind of with you
on this. I don't know how big of a deal
it really truly is, because you're looking at six whole
games over the last four seasons.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Right, I think it's more of a combination of everything. Also,
the short week, the going on the road, and the
cold weather out there. You know, I was trying to
look at the line. Home field advantage is supposed to
be what between three or four points in the NFL,
All right, let's just say three and a half. The
weather is not maybe another two more points. We're making
such a big deal about it. Oh in six under

(12:24):
forty degrees. Everybody's heard that stat. So now you're up
to like five and a half points out there, throwing
the short work week. This line really should have been six,
six and a half in favor of green Bay. I'm
shocked that it was down the three because early money
came in on the Dolphins, so they're seeing something that
I don't. And I'm a big Dolphin fan. I hope
too has a good game. Two has been phenomenal since

(12:46):
coming back from the concussion. Ever since you questioned whether
he should be the quarterback and he should retire, he's
been playing his best football. So he's been absolutely a
tremendous Well it's not Alreadie.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
The opening line for this game was three.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
Yeah, three of those three and a half. Oh yeah,
but it's up.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
But I'm saying it's three and a half right now,
So I don't know why you're shocked by that.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
That's kind of been where it's been for a while now.
I was just shocked at the opening that it opened.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
All okay, okay, And I see what you're saying up at.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
Green Bay, like five and a half to six with
the way I did all my come out there?

Speaker 4 (13:22):
Yeah, by the way, and then two other things I
don't know. I'm looking at scoresanodds dot com. Scores and
Odds dot Com had the Cowboys opening line against the
Giants at eight.

Speaker 5 (13:31):
That seems big.

Speaker 4 (13:32):
It's down to three and a half currently, and they
have the opening line for the Lions. So I'm gonna
have to dig on this. It doesn't seem right to me.
Where's where's my guys that wet the beat constantly, that live,
eaton breede spreads, come on, help me out at stinking
genius one. Uh, Lions open at three and a half.
No that now, that's that. That's bet up to nine
and a half.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Yeah, the Lions.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
There's no way, there's no way open it three and
a half.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
No, that's that's impossible. So, I mean, there's a lot
of people getting rich. And you know why you can't
open up at that because if it opens up at
three and a half and you get down at the
Troy minus three and a half and then you buy
back at Chicago plus ten, boy, you're gonna destroy some
sports books out there. If you keep that up for
the course of a couple of weeks.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
Try in the middle of the game.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
And that's a big number to middle too, So no,
I couldn't have started a three and a half.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
One other note, by the way, and our buddy Overnight
Joe hit us up with this, and I guess I.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
Didn't realize it.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
If the Dolphins lose the Packers and the Bills beat
the Niners, yeah, the Bills have already won the AFC East.

Speaker 8 (14:33):
I know.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
That's disgusting, isn't it. My gosh, that's why Miami has
no chance of I mean, it's gonna be so tough
just to get into as a wild card. Unfortunately, they
have no chance now in winn need the division.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Yeah, I mean, there's always a chance, right, but it's
gonna take a lot of work in order to get there.
All right, we got a big show coming up tonight,
a lot of NFL talk on the horizon, including the
latest on Aaron Rodgers, which Arnie and I do a
show every Sunday night, and we were talking about this
Sunday and I had to be honest with you, I've

(15:06):
town not a lot of the Aaron Rodgers stuff because
I feel like there's so much good football going on.
But he said something this week that I think caught
everyone's attention, as did Jerry Jones about the future of
Mike McCarthy. By the way, just for those that are curious,
Arnie Spanier not a big fire up coach in the
middle of the season guy.

Speaker 5 (15:23):
Not a surprise by that.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
I thought that would be one of your bell cows.
But we'll talk about the future of Mike McCarthy in
a preview that Cowboys game. Roman numerals nine and ten
are focusing on college football tonight and the Roman numeral
Rundown and will debate whether.

Speaker 5 (15:38):
Or not Dan Hurley is too much.

Speaker 4 (15:41):

Should my wife screwed up? Blank?

Speaker 3 (17:17):
I'm very upset, very upset, my friend.

Speaker 5 (17:20):
You have much more control over your household than I do.

Speaker 8 (17:23):
Very well.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
You know, well, you know my wife works hard. We
both work hard, obviously, and you know she doesn't notice
that I work hard too. When she goes, what did
you do today? I go, what do you mean?

Speaker 5 (17:35):
I got up?

Speaker 3 (17:37):
I I you know, I have to, you know, listen
to Colin. I watched the sports shows, I got games on,
got a lot of stuff to do, right.

Speaker 5 (17:45):
She's like, oh, poor you. I go, oh, poor you.

Speaker 3 (17:49):
You go to watch Anyway, She goes, I want to
take a vacation in May, and I say fine. She goes,
let's go to one of those resorts and we'll take
our son and his girlfriend. I said, fine, I go,
I go, let's I go. I want to go to
like Charleston or something like that.

Speaker 5 (18:04):
Carolina.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Yeah, okay. She didn't want to do that. She wanted
like Jamaica or the Bahamas. I'm like, fine, fine, go
do what you want. Should have taken her for the
basketball I wanted? Did I look up she made she
made a reservation for the Dominican Republic.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
The Dominican Republic.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
Yeah, okay, I mean have I'm assumed that she's looked
into it.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
It's I don't know, she just probably saw like, oh,
look at the water here. But those ads can fool you,
you know what I mean, that's a bunch of boloney.
And why do I get to go to the travel
that far to see the water when I'm near the
Atlantic Ocean.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
So let me just let's kind of talk about our
two worlds.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
Arnie is mad because his wife tonight booked a tropical vacation, Yeah,
in the Dominican Republic.

Speaker 5 (18:59):
Yes, okay. Meanwhile, I had.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
To drive with my wife to pick off pick up
something in the hood that she bought off Facebook marketplace
that when we got there she decided she didn't want.
So I had to tell the guy she didn't want it,
and we had to get in our car and drive away.
So you you want to complain a little bit more
about this on vacation, you got to take in mad, you.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Know what, I just it's just far away to go
to some place. I guess it as a casino. So
that's gonna be fun. I hope it has a sports book.
I don't know my wife. You know I turned fifty
this year. I turned Yeah, I would have a party
for you or what.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
My wife today asked me whenever we were driving to
the middle of nowhere to look at a a dresser
that she ended up not buying. She's like, what do
you want to do for your fiftieth And I like
the idea of just going to a casino or going
to a horse track or playing.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
We're on the same page here. I'm going to tell
you I want to do you a favor. Your wife's listening, Yeah,
my wife never listens anything. Can you tell her she
sits at home. Don't worry about it. You and I
and all the listeners, all of them are going to Vegas, Vegas,
and we're gonna put party like rock stars.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
Man, I'd say that we go to because my birthday
is in April. But maybe my plan we could plan
like a March trip so we could be there during
March madness, because isn't that doesn't everyone say that's when
you want to be the first tournament?

Speaker 8 (20:26):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (20:26):
Could we party like rock stars? All our listeners there
me and you. You leave the wives home, the girlfriend's home,
just nothing but us guys having party.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
Bunch of fifty year old gray haired guys. And I'm
mad if I'm not in bed by eleven o'clock. It's like, listen,
I don't care what we do. You all got to
leave by ten.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Vegas. They pump in oxygen. You feel good while you're
walking around in the CASITEO. You're feeling good, so they
pump in oxygen.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
We'll start working on that. And I'm very sorry that
your wife planned a Caribbean vacation for you, Arenie in
the middle of all this.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
And by the way, I'm always afraid I'll get arrested
for some reason.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
Don't do anything wrong and you'll be fine.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
Well, you know that that doesn't you know, that doesn't
mean you won't get arrested. I you know, I'll be
like one are those tourists where people say can you
carry my bag for me, sir? And then next thing
I know, I'm getting arrested, hauled off to jail.

Speaker 5 (21:19):
Oh because you're the guy.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
That's yeah.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Yeah, listen, I watch enough of the U. I watch
enough of the Smugglers TV show.

Speaker 5 (21:29):
Yes, I do too. Yeah, I love that show.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Yeah, you totally. You'd be sweating like crazy. I gave
you this bag. I have some dude.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
Yeah, if I've spent thirty years in like a Caribbean prison,
I don't think I can handle that.

Speaker 5 (21:40):
Chris, How am I gonna do this?

Speaker 3 (21:41):
How am I gonna do the show?

Speaker 4 (21:43):
I all the sets you up with the line in there,
it's an Internet line, You'll be good to go. Could
you imagine Arnie in prison every single Sunday night and
people it's like, shut up, keep it down.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
You can have the TV on.

Speaker 5 (21:55):
Sorry, guys got the TV on for this? Hey?

Speaker 4 (21:57):
So now do I owe you want to it's Arnie
Playing Company livesthtirack dot com Studios, because on Sunday Night
you were all about this sitcom that you say is
being written about you?

Speaker 3 (22:11):
Or yes, yes, the Arnie span your show?

Speaker 5 (22:14):
Is that what it's gonna be called?

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Well, that's one of the names I prefer, like either
Hello Arnie, like hullo Larry.

Speaker 5 (22:19):
I don't remember.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Everybody loves Arnie like everybody hates Chris. Wasn't that a
TV show?

Speaker 4 (22:26):
Yeah, everybody hates Chris, but you want it to be
everybody loves Arnie.

Speaker 5 (22:29):
Yeah, but is this true? You're actually having the writer
come in this weekend.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
There'll be two writers coming in a week from Sunday.

Speaker 5 (22:37):
Oh awe from Sunday.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Yes, a week from Sunday, and they'll be watching us
do the show and check it out. Everybody and the
producers and the board ops and just you know, there's
already a couple of networks interested in it. And I
think it's gonna I think it's gonna get the green light.
Man And I told Mary, I can't tell you on
the air who they want to play us, And.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
Well, for you, you're saying us, it's all you, it's
no no.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
But I have a co host on the TV.

Speaker 5 (23:06):
Okay, okay, okay, Mary, was it not a.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
Couple of good names that I mentioned that we're going
to be part of the project or what I'm not
gonna lie.

Speaker 7 (23:12):
I'm literally not listening because I'm talking to Aaron to.

Speaker 5 (23:19):
Well.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
She was impressed when I told her what the actors
were that they were going to use for me and
that they were going to use for you. So and
they're coming in and I'm telling you this has been
in the works like in six years. She came up
this was six years ago.

Speaker 7 (23:32):
Oh are you talking? What method? May?

Speaker 3 (23:34):
Yeah, were're supposed to mention his name on the air,
but since you did, oh sorry, Yeah that's okay. Yeah,
names like that Chris, So there you go.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
Yeah, well, congratulations. I hope it comes to fruition already,
get rich. Make sure you don't sign away any of
the merchandising rights.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
Okay, did you know what's so funny is if they
don't use me as an actor? What you know, how
am I going to get paid? That's I don't understand that.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
Part, don't you.

Speaker 7 (23:59):
I thought you would get paid in this situation.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
Yeah, you would, or you would?

Speaker 5 (24:02):
He would?

Speaker 3 (24:03):
He should, he should congraduate because and I gotta have
a part somehow. I got to be like a caller
on the air or something. I cannot not be in
the TV show. I guess I can have you do
like a cameo that would be yeah, yeah, exactly. I
gotta have some.

Speaker 7 (24:18):
Time like Arnie looking at the fake Arnie?

Speaker 5 (24:21):
Is there any Is there any? Is?

Speaker 4 (24:23):
Like a Pee Wee Herman reference? Is that too outdated?
Would anyone get it? Like in Pee Wee's Big Adventure,
when is when he has his cameo at the end
of the movie and he.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
Grabs the phone. So that's what you could be.

Speaker 4 (24:36):
Well, get off it'll it'll do you right on this
drinks giving on a Wednesday night? All right, skip back,
skip back to the show. Here are you good with everything?
So you're mad about your vacation and you've got your
TV riders coming in a week from it.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
If anybody's been to the Dominican Republic, could go ahead
and tweet me and let me know what kind of
if it's going to be a good time or not.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
So are you buying what Jerry Jones is selling here? Arnie?
This is from his weekly appearance on Dallas Radio.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Is it crazy to think that at the end of
the season we could be talking about an extension for
Mike McCarthy.

Speaker 8 (25:08):
Well, I don't think that's crazy at all. That's not crazy. Listen,
Mike McCarthy is one an outstanding coach. I was listened
to the game last night watching it and Hagman was
talking about and he's reiterated that several times publicly. This
Super Bowl winning coach Mike McCarthy has been there, done that,

(25:30):
He's got great ideas. Bottom line is that no place
in my body language or anything else. Have you saying
indications about what we're going to be doing relative to
this staff at the end of this year? We shouldn't.

Speaker 5 (25:48):
So, yeah, is Mike McCarthy going to be back? Jerry?

Speaker 4 (25:53):
You covered Jerry? Yeah for what how long were you
in Dallas? But it felt like a decade.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
So yeah, every year is like seven years. It's like
dog years outside of shit, Yeah, it's something like that.
But no, he he's pretty much a straight shooter. I
believe him when he says no, it's not crazy, and
that he's considering giving Mike McCarthy an extension. Does he
deserve an extension? You know that's a fifty to fifty
Probably not. But you know, it isn't all his fault.

(26:21):
What's been going on and all the injuries and the
fact that Jerry didn't spend any money to get more
offensive weapons around his quarterback, and the fact that he
missed just misread the whole situation after pay all that
money to Dak Prescott to begin with. So ah, that's
not Butcarthy's fault. Let's let's be honest. It's been a
semi train wreck, and Jerry's been a big part of

(26:43):
the reason why they're in this situation.

Speaker 5 (26:46):
So Jerry's first.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
Year as the owner of the Cowboys was like, what
eighty nine to ninety right. I brought this up last
night to Harmon, and I'm curious to get your thought
in that span, which is, you know, it's what are
we looking at thirty four years right now, thirty five years?

Speaker 5 (27:05):
Whatever it is. You know, he's only had nine coaches.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
That might seem like a lot to some, especially when
you consider that, you know, Tom Landry was the coach
the Cowboys for like twenty years himself, twenty eight, twenty
nine years himself.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
But you know, Jimmy.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
Johnson was there from eighty nine to ninety three, and
then they had their falling out and he brought in Barry,
and Barry was there for a while.

Speaker 5 (27:31):
There was that span with.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Schan and I think that's when you were there, right that,
Dave Campo, Bill Parcells and then Wade Phillips.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
But I mean he gave Jason Garrett all year time. Yeah,
I think it was eight years. I figure it was
eight years.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
I'm looking at it right now. He came in as
an interim coach in twenty ten and then Garrett was
a full time coach in twenty eleven, and he didn't
fire him until after the nineteen season.

Speaker 5 (27:55):
So I mean, maybe it's maybe.

Speaker 4 (27:58):
It's a little bit unfair that we look get him
and say, oh he is uh he turns through coaches.
But I think in a lot of ways he's been
I don't know if the term would be loyal Arnie,
but loyal to a fault, yeah, all about the way
a fault. Yeah, that's not the big knockout him. It's
always more about being the general manager. It's always about
when you hear those little stories about how like he

(28:20):
wanted to draft Johnny Manzieu and his son at the
tackle him out of the carpet and ripped the thing
out of his head so they couldn't do it, you know,
hearing stories like that, or I wasn't going to get
this guy and I waited and he you know, he
has to.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
Spend extra money. It's just that his general manager decisions
have not been stellar. Let's be honest. I'mbout saying all
of it. He's done some good jobs and some good signings,
but I don't think he's been calling the shots for
a while. So I don't know how much to really
blame him and how much he's just a figure out,
goes on the radio, talks a few things, and I mean,
is he really trying to make trades? Is Jerry on

(28:59):
the phone right now? I was saying, we need a
backup offensive lineman's let's go ahadon, I need to find
what he's not doing stuff like that. So I don't
think he really has he has that is, you know,
fifth or his fingers on the pulse of everything that's
going on with that team.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
Do you feel like and in preparation of tomorrow's Cowboys
Giants game? Oh no, what happened to Jada? Oh no,
there's an injury in the Oklahoma City Thunder game right now.
Jalen Williams is hurt. This is not good.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Yeah, actually I have that came on now.

Speaker 5 (29:30):
I'm looking at that.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
What do he hit his head or something?

Speaker 4 (29:33):
I guess So no, no, be okay Jada sixty to
forty eight to Thunder lead Golden State right now with
thirty six seconds left in the first half. But let
me get back to the Cowboys here real quick. Is
there a number in your opinion? Cowboys are four and seven,
right now they're not gonna win the division, probably not.

Speaker 5 (29:53):
Going to the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
But is there, in your opinion, over the final six
games a number they have to hit in order to
assure that McCarthy's going to be back next year or
do you think it's just kind of Hey, the hand
he's been dealt and everything they've gone through.

Speaker 5 (30:10):
He going to be back regardless.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
I think he's gonna be back regardless, though.

Speaker 5 (30:14):
You know, what are they?

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Four and seven?

Speaker 4 (30:16):
You said, yeah, yeah, four and seven and real quick
Giant Spingles, Panthers, Buccaneers, Eagles, Commanders.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
No, you can't. You got to have at least six
to seven wins. He's probably he'll probably have about six
to seven wins.

Speaker 4 (30:28):
You know, Oh you oh, I thought you meant of
the final six games. So you want to see that.
They've got to be a six or seven win football team,
is what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
I think they'll end up winning six or seven. I
don't know if he has to win that many. He'll
be back next year regardless of what happens because of
all the injuries, and I think Jerry knew he didn't
have enough weapons around his quarterback when they came into
the season, everybody was talking about it. So it wasn't
like he didn't hear the noise. He heard the noise.
He just probably thought, no, we'll be fine, or I

(30:58):
don't want to spend the money. He didn't want to
spend the money on Derrick Henry, which was a big mistake,
you know, running back to how much was he how
much was he making, Chris like less than ten million?
He left themselves. They didn't even know, I mean, powered left.
He got Ezekiel back, and that guy's stats have been
going down every year for the last five or six years.

Speaker 5 (31:18):
I don't know what he was thinking about that situation.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
I think I'll defend him in this front, and I'll
also even kind of defend the Giants. I don't know
if Derrick Henry is doing in Dallas what he's doing
in Baltimore. And I'm sure as I don't think Saquon
Barkley is doing in New York what he's doing in
Philly right now. But I'm sure as Heck would have
liked to see how it would have worked out for
Henry and Dallas.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Right, I agree with you on that. That's fair enough
that yeah, you're right about that. They they probably don't
have those good of years if they're not with the
teams that they are.

Speaker 5 (31:47):
With right now.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
I agree with you that, but I also say, you know,
you went and you got, you brought in Brandon Cooks,
and that's just it hasn't really materialized. And then beyond
Ceedee Lamb, you've got Camante Turpin, Jalen Tolbert. You traded
for Jonathan Mingo. I don't think he's done a damn

(32:08):
thing yet. Your tight ends are okay, but it's just
there's not enough. This sounds wild to say with the Cowboys,
right enough flash, there's not enough flash, with.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
Enough big name flats out there. Where's Mike Gorvin man
he's think coming back or what? Let's tell him out there?

Speaker 5 (32:24):
Easy to say right now?

Speaker 4 (32:25):
All right, Cowboys, giants, Jerry, vote of confidence. Usually a
vote of confidence is the worst thing that can happen
for you, but in this instance, looks like it's gonna
work for one.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
Mike McCarthy. All right.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
When we come back to the tyrack dot Com Studios, Arnie,
I want to stick with the NFL, but I do
want to dive into the week in general. Right, we
talk a lot about the Thanksgiving Day games, because those
are tomorrow. But what about the week ahead. We'll dive
into that when we come back Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with My Carmen weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 4 (33:14):
Art He will be back with you tomorrow night, yes
Giving Night, and Friday night, and then we'll be with
you Sunday night.

Speaker 5 (33:20):
But for the next two hours, you got us filling
in form.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
It's the Power Hour. No, it's not, it is the
next hour is the bonus hour, ome on, Get Again,
Get with it.

Speaker 7 (33:31):
I guess gosh, like the encore hour exactly. But wouldn't
the Power hours just be the last hour of like when.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
The band stops playing and everybody's got throw lighters out, Hey,
come back out for your.

Speaker 5 (33:44):
Song and clue.

Speaker 7 (33:45):
No, first off, you don't have the lighters out for
the encore you don't.

Speaker 5 (33:50):
No, you have it out for the slow song.

Speaker 7 (33:52):
Exactly, but for the for the Power hour, for the
last song you have your like lighters or you have
your flash light.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
It's been debated for years, is this is the power
hour or is the power hour actually the final hours?

Speaker 5 (34:04):
Well we know this broadcast hour.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
We're broadcasting live from the ti iraq dot com studios.

Speaker 5 (34:11):
Tier rack dot com.

Speaker 4 (34:12):
We'll help you get there an unmatched to selection, fast
free shipping, free roadhazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended
installers tire rack dot com. The way tire buying should
be quick. Confession while I watch the thunder blow this
game against Golden State tonight, Draymond hits a three and
I feel like for the first time, oh here you go,
first lead. Since it was nine to six, Golden State

(34:35):
has taken an eighty six eighty four lead and no
sign of Jalen Williams after his ipoke in the first
half that has taken him out of this game. Here's
my confession for you, and you guys can judge me accordingly,
and that's fine. I don't have hot takes as far
as what is or isn't considered part of a Thanksgiving meal.

(34:56):
I don't have hot takes about what's good or what
isn't good. It's just it's to eat their own. I'm
not going to fight you if you want sweet potatoes
or right dams. And I've never had in my life
for macaroni and cheese or what green bean castsrole I'm
just gonna eat it.

Speaker 5 (35:15):
All is that I feel like you have to have
hot takes about some.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
You don't have to have hot takes. But I do
want to tell you the food of Thanksgiving, the.

Speaker 5 (35:23):
Turkey in particular.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
I like turkey, but it gets too much after a while,
when you're using it for like two straight weeks of leftovers,
and I'm just more I'm more of a stuffing guy,
and I like the stuffing that comes from inside the turkey,
and that's never enough. My wife doesn't make like stovetop
stuffing or anything like that, so we have to have
like all organic stuffing or whatever the hell it is.

Speaker 5 (35:48):
Well, she cares about you, She wants you to be healthy.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
Why so I could live to be one hundred and seven?

Speaker 5 (35:54):
Sure, she could spend more time with you?

Speaker 3 (35:56):
Why so you and I could do a show's seven
years old?

Speaker 4 (35:59):
You cannot want to work with me on holidays and
have other people instead of me?

Speaker 3 (36:04):
Yes, yeah, No, I'm just I'm more of a stuffing guy,
I'll eat a stuffing sandwich bread on top of bread,
and I don't know that's good for you at all.
I know that's probably not.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
Yeah, so I noticed on Roman Numeral seventeen you would
ask the question tonight.

Speaker 5 (36:19):
Yeah, is Thanksgiving overrated? Yeah? Food wise? Food wise is
what I meant. I don't think. So what do you think?
Marys Mary's?

Speaker 3 (36:30):
I know people that do like mary stuff like that. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (36:33):
People do pizza on Thanksgiving?

Speaker 3 (36:35):
Yeah, I know people that I'm not doing, like ham
or turkey. A lot of mac and cheese. There's a
lot of mac and cheese.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
Mac and cheese is it's to me? Mac and cheese
is a Thanksgiving side.

Speaker 6 (36:45):
I think when people go to McDonald's that's when it's
really crossing a line.

Speaker 5 (36:48):
I agree. I agree.

Speaker 4 (36:50):
That's whenever it's like, oh okay, well that's probably that's
probably something we need to talk about. If you're going
with the McRib or the double of with cheese I love.

Speaker 6 (37:02):
Honestly, Jason Smith is probably gonna have McDonald's for Thanksgiving.

Speaker 5 (37:06):
McDonald's okay, all right, learning a lot more here today. Yeah,
there's some.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
People that don't won't do the traditional Thanksgiving meal and
they'll get themselves some pizza. I wonder how pizzash like
pizza stores do on Thanksgiving if they're open even.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
Well, but here's here's a question that I would have
for you, is if you think it's overrated, then.

Speaker 5 (37:29):
I mean, what do you do? Do you just go
off on your own nook. I don't.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
I don't dispurge anybody's cooking, but my wife and her
sister the worst maybe on the planet. And and of
course when I go over there, I sometimes pretend like
I'm eating it and I can't even swallow it down.
I'm like, I'm like choking on it. I'm like, what
is this what? And they they'll make separate turkeys because

(37:56):
some people say, well, people don't like my turkey. I
go let me and I'll let you in the secret.
There's people that don't like anything that's on this table.
But I won't. I won't have to worry about that
because I got to come back early. So I told
him if it's snowing, I have to leave early and
get back to get ready for the shows.

Speaker 5 (38:12):
I find myself, this is just me.

Speaker 4 (38:15):
If you put gravy on about anything, I'm fuss with
it like you know, it's like, do you put some
people are anti gravy?

Speaker 3 (38:21):
These Oh no, I have tons of great.

Speaker 5 (38:24):
Right these people are called communists.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
Yeah, you can't have that, No.

Speaker 5 (38:27):
But yeah, I just I don't have like I guess that.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
Make gravy or do you take it from the Turkey?
Do you make your own gravy?

Speaker 4 (38:33):
Or one year we had to go make it because
no one brought it, so my brother in law and
I went to like a Walmart and bought like.

Speaker 5 (38:39):
Gravy, you know, Thanksgiving without gravy, you got to have it.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
But I just I guess that's my hottest take because
I'm not someone that's gonna judge you if you like
something I saw. There's odds on what would be the
what Mary you guys played one has to go whenever.
The Ian was a part of it too, with the
odd couple. I don't what you want enjoy it. If
I don't like it, I'm not gonna eat it. And
guess what, I don't feel like it's necessarily that big

(39:06):
a deal.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
Is everything closed in your neck of the woods for tomorrow?

Speaker 4 (39:10):
Or yeah, yeah, pretty much. I think that there's a
few places that stay open. Just just in case, right.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
We have stores out, just leave the door unlocked, and I'm.

Speaker 5 (39:23):
Serious, are you serious? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (39:25):
Poor?

Speaker 4 (39:25):
Well who makes it then? If they just leave that?
I mean there are people inside there that take care
for what.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
No, No, there isn't.

Speaker 4 (39:33):
It's possible. There's no one there to make the food.
But magically the bag shows up.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
You order it's it's called poor House Pieska and you
order your pies and they just leave it boxed up
inside this this store, this shed, and there's nobody there,
especially on the holidays sometimes they're there like from eight
am to noon. Otherwise you play shorter and you pick
up your stuff and you just leave.

Speaker 5 (39:58):
Is this you trying to get a free pie out
of this? Is it not for you?

Speaker 3 (40:01):
No? No, one hundred percent. I mean people can I
guess can go in there and take pies that don't
belong to them, but you know, you you we're supposed
to pay for it online and then you drive down
and you pick up your pies and and you leave.
So that way nobody has to really watch anybody.

Speaker 5 (40:17):
All right.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
Yeah, it's like it's like Maybury around here, I'd.

Speaker 4 (40:21):
Say, so maybe it's it's much more Mayberry than ever
thought it was. So I just want to let you
guys know, we're not here to grade side dishes. We're
not here to fight about anything you do. As as
the kids like to say, you do you boo, and uh,
we'll just eat what we want to what we do.

Speaker 5 (40:40):
I don't have no idea.

Speaker 4 (40:42):
Listen, Arnie, we have been contractually obligated, as every sports
radio host is, to have a conversation about Aaron Rodgers
comments this week's Yes, that is true. I figured here
in the Pat Power Our third hour, what else right
Power Hour, this would be a.

Speaker 5 (41:00):
Good place to have it.

Speaker 4 (41:01):
So here is what Aaron Rodgers said this week whenever
he was a guest on the Pat McAfee show. Now,
full disclosure, I have been a guy that I've been
in the business of tuning Aaron Rodgers out. It's just
I've kind of reached that point where I'm like, I
just just play football.

Speaker 5 (41:17):
You know.

Speaker 4 (41:18):
I know that's a terrible thing to say, right, how
dare I? But I'm tired of the excuses. I'm tired
of everyone getting fired. Just go play football and be good. Well,
there is a conversation about his future, and he addressed it.

Speaker 9 (41:30):
This week as far as my future goes. I haven't
told anybody in my life that I want to play
in twenty twenty five and not in the Jets, So
that's one hundred percent false. I actually said the opposite,
you know, I said that I'm going to wait and
see what happens with at the end of the season
and if they want me back, and what happens with Brick,

(41:52):
and what happens with the offensive staff and obviously the
GM at the time, and you know, then they just
fired Joe. There's a lot of things out of my
control and it comes to that. But I've really enjoyed
my time in New York. I mean, obviously we haven't
had success that we've all wanted to have, but you know,
I've made some great friendships on the team. I've enjoyed
living in Jersey. I've enjoyed time in the city. I've

(42:13):
enjoyed getting to know the fans, and I came here
to win here. So I'm not jumping off ship, you know, like, oh,
I definitely want to play and not in New York.
I don't even know if I want to play yet,
but New York will be my first hops.

Speaker 5 (42:27):
So dude's good getting attention. Is he not now?

Speaker 4 (42:32):
I don't even know if I want to play anymore,
but I know that it would want to be with
New York.

Speaker 5 (42:36):
What do you make of this latest as the air
in turns?

Speaker 3 (42:39):
Well, first of all, is he people are speculating? Does
he mean New York? I could be Jets or Giants,
And you know that he's doing one of those trick
word things out there. I don't know. I think when
you hear the whole contact of it, yeah, exactly when
he did that, I think when you hear the whole
context of it, I think he meant the Jets.

Speaker 5 (42:58):
I am. I'm fed up with him.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
Also, you know, I know he's a Hall of Famer,
But at the same time, can you be one of
the most overrated quarterbacks in the history of the NFL?
Because he's really close to that. You know, expectations real
high and never even came close to fulfilling those expectations.
I do believe, you know, he wants to play one
more year. I don't think he's going to retire. I

(43:21):
do think it's going to be with the Jets, though
I don't think I want him back. I think he's done.
I think he should retire. I think his best days
are way behind him. He can't lead a good team
to a five hundred record, especially when they don't have
enough for around them. But the Jets had a pretty
decent team coming into this year, and they just look

(43:42):
absolutely horrible. I think Rogers looks horrible also. I retire
from him, but I think he'll come back for one
more year.

Speaker 4 (43:50):
Does he come back then? Do you take him at
his word that he comes back for one more year
with the Jets?

Speaker 5 (43:54):
Should he? Does? He look like a guy who should
come back right now?

Speaker 8 (43:58):
No?

Speaker 3 (43:58):
No, he doesn't. He looks horrible. I mean he really
can't move. His mobility as worse as ever. Now. Yeah,
he could run a little bit out of the pocket,
but he's just like a statue there. He can't do much.
He he comes up with a big throw every now
and then, but my goodness, he's just a shell of himself.

(44:19):
He should really consider retirement after his injury and after
what he did to get back.

Speaker 4 (44:25):
You know, I like Aaron Rodgers the football player, and
I dig Aaron Rodgers the personality. It's just we're putting
a lot of attention, Arnie towards a guy that from
the moment he stepped on the Jets. It's been a disaster.
He got hurt on fourth, fifth, sixth plays.

Speaker 3 (44:45):
But people were betting on the Jets to win the
Super Bowl at the beginning of the year. I gotta
bet this team to win the Zuper Bowl. They were
getting a lot of bets. Bobby, the top three teams
to get bets to win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (44:55):
Chriz, I know who Antonio Pierce feels is the worst
team in the NFL, And we'll get to that. The
New York Jets are a three and eight football team.
They are a half game ahead of New England and
Vision right, and they went from being two and.

Speaker 5 (45:13):
One to being three and eight.

Speaker 4 (45:16):
Their only win of substance was a still head scratcher
and whatever the Texans were doing on that Monday night
football game. But they've got the Seahawks and the Dolphins
and back to back weeks, I mean, three and ten.
Maybe now the Seahawks probably one of those games they
end up winning for someone own reason. But if here's

(45:37):
the thing, if I'm a Jets fan and I want
to win, Jets.

Speaker 5 (45:41):
Want to win.

Speaker 4 (45:42):
You want to win games, you want to go to
the Super Bowl, you want to play in the playoffs.
It hasn't happened in a really long time. Arnie, do
you even want him back to be your quarterback?

Speaker 5 (45:50):
Now you don't want him back?

Speaker 3 (45:52):
How many teams for next year would want Aaron Rodgers
as their starting quarterback?

Speaker 4 (45:58):
You just want to do a quick little here, I mean,
let's do a little list. Okay, I'll just I'll go
by draft order, okay. Uh, and teams that I think
would want to Jacksonville go ahead.

Speaker 3 (46:08):
Yeah, well, I was just scanning the divisions, which it's
easier for me to look that way. Okay, Giants, Giants
possibly one. But I'd want to go young and start fresh.

Speaker 4 (46:21):
And but would you want to bridge there? Would you
want to bridge quarterback?

Speaker 3 (46:25):
Possibly?

Speaker 5 (46:26):
Possibly? Okay, Raiders.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
Raiders would be two.

Speaker 5 (46:31):
Carolina three. Okay, I don't know if I do Carolina.
I take that back, Okay, Okay, just keep with Bryce Young.
I don't. I don't disagree with you on that.

Speaker 3 (46:41):
Yea, I do have Bryce Young, so I'm probably gonna
stay in in that direction. I'm gonna stay with two.

Speaker 4 (46:47):
What about Tennessee because remember he was originally going there.
Will Levis has been Okay, but what.

Speaker 3 (46:53):
I see It's hard for me to answer all that
because out of all these bad teams, somebody's gonna end
up with Sanders, right, you know, somebody's gonna end up
with Ward, and I'd rather go with Sanders.

Speaker 5 (47:03):
And Ward just day one. You don't want a bridge guy.

Speaker 3 (47:07):
No, I don't want a bridge guy in that situation.

Speaker 5 (47:09):
Okay, well as it stands right now, maybe for.

Speaker 3 (47:11):
The other quarterbacks that are taken in the second and
the third round, but not for those two quarterbacks.

Speaker 4 (47:16):
If you end up with say one of the second
tier quarterbacks, yeah, draft right, anybody besides Ward and Sanders, Okay,
like a Jalen Milroe. If you get Jalen Quinn, yours
if he if Milroe comes exactly.

Speaker 5 (47:30):
Okay, okay, I can buy that.

Speaker 3 (47:32):
I don't even know Milroe was coming out, to be.

Speaker 5 (47:33):
Honest, I don't either. He's got another year of eligibility.
I'm not so sure I would come out then if
I was.

Speaker 4 (47:38):
You got stomped by that Oklahoma da you see that
seven yards rushing?

Speaker 5 (47:43):
That's sit down.

Speaker 4 (47:44):
I could go through this list, but I mean just
even I listed probably four or five teams, and you
had like two where you're like, yeah, maybe what about.

Speaker 5 (47:52):
A place like oh gosh, the cold put it.

Speaker 3 (47:56):
Put it this way, didn't it seem like a lot
more teams were interested in Daniel Jones, then they'd be
more interested in in in Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 4 (48:04):
Yeah, it appeared that way, but it's he didn't get
signed to an active roster.

Speaker 5 (48:11):
Wanted him?

Speaker 3 (48:11):
You're Vegas? I saw were wells Vegas wanted it right, right,
that was more than just a rumor out there.

Speaker 4 (48:18):
Well again, I don't know what's real and what isn't
because no one put a waiver claim in on him, nor.

Speaker 3 (48:24):
Right because you whocause has to do with money, right, right?
But then he has a decision to make. But to me,
I maybe I'm maybe I'm looking at this wrong. Maybe
someone will correct me, But I mean sign on the
practice squad.

Speaker 4 (48:39):
I mean that just it's it seems to me that
if he was really that vaunted and wanted, he'd be
signed right away to the active roster. So I get,
like I said, I might be misreading this thing.

Speaker 3 (48:51):
Dolphins wanted him as a backup. Also, I'm sure they
were a team that were that was interested, probably didn't
want to, you know, bring him in.

Speaker 5 (48:58):
Nobody.

Speaker 4 (48:58):
It's it's hard right now to find a spot where
you would just say yeah, I think Aaron, right, how
about Seattle.

Speaker 5 (49:07):
Where Aaron, I don't know, That's.

Speaker 4 (49:10):
What I'm saying, because a lot of these places someone
might in Atlanta's got its quarterback situations figured out for
a while. This in San Francisco, I don't think they're
going to go away from rock Perdy after what we've seen. Right,
as long as t is, Stay's healthy, New England's not
and maybe you know, I think there's a handful if
you want to bridge with the Giants or the Raiders,

(49:31):
if he wants to come back to the Jets, or
if he wants to go to a place like Indianapolis,
there's only like three or four places right now.

Speaker 5 (49:38):
His best option might be to go back to the Jets.

Speaker 3 (49:41):
You know what's so funny is because people were talking
about Sam Darnold saying if he didn't come back to Minnesota,
somebody's gonna pay him a lot of money to be
their starting quarterback. And I'm like, who, who what are
you talking about? They know, I'm certain like one hundred
million dollars. I'm like, who what are you talking about? Though?
That guy should be five. If they're gonna give him
that type of money, you're crazy.

Speaker 5 (50:02):
Yeah, exactly, all right, we got a break.

Speaker 4 (50:05):
It's Arnie and Plank sitting in for Jason and Mike
when we come back. What say you, where's my Jets
fans at that stinking genius one? I'm at Planks show
everyone give us a take at Fox Sports Radio. Jets
in the right to just go ahead and say, hey,
let's start a new new head coach, new offensive coordinator,
new defensive coordinator, new mindset, new quarterback. Let's just wash

(50:28):
away the old or can you even do that in
a place like New York? Does that fan base demand
you owe it to them to give it one more try?
With Adams and Aaron Rodgers, They've drafted pretty well. The
core is good with guys like Breese Hall breeseall in
the running back like see me linebackers and fenders yet,
But can you run a back with Aaron Rodgers and

(50:50):
feel like things would be different? Hit us up. We'll
get your takes. But before we do anything else with
Arnie and Plank here on Fox Sports Radio.
