I would have had to miss O you Alabama fun Saturday.

just for the rich and famous alumni that they could

take a trip with like we read an RV and
go to Vegas or drive up into the Sequoias or something.

getting to watch my thunder tonight during the game. We've
got the Maui Invitational third place game between Michigan State
and North Carolina. But yet here i am on this
Thanksgiving Eve, Arnie, I feel like I'm being drawn more
towards the NFL and what might be you know, a

less instellar first two games for Thanksgiving, but a prime
time matchup that is I think very intriguing. Even though
your Dolphins are under five hundred, they've been like a
different team with Twoatago Aloa. I just feel like I'm
being pulled towards the NFL right now.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Yeah, you know that Thursday and Friday's games in the
NFL far from entertaining. I mean, like you.
Speaker 5 (07:57):
Said, three of the four.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
You figure out you know who's going to win the
game ahead of time. And then there's the Miami Green
Bay game. And I'm actually shocked, and I brought this
up when we were on Sunday, that green Bay was
only a three and a half point favored over Miami.
You hear so much about the weather. And I you know,
I hear people arguing on Twitter. It's not like everybody
on the Dolphins was born in Florida, lived in Florida,

college in Florida.
Speaker 5 (08:22):
I know that. But the numbers are the numbers.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
And it's not like Tua has played in cold weather
games a lot and when he does, he loses. Remember
I what was the game was up in Kansas City? Yeah,
it was negative one hundred degrees. I mean, yeah, it's
unfit to live in and we're playing football games and
weather like that. So the weather's not going to be
nearly as bad as it was in the Kansas City game,

but it's still gonna be cold on a short work week,
and of course the Dolphins are going to have to travel,
so it's gonna be tough, tough.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
I found. Well, let's let's let's go ahead. Put a
caveat in here on this, okay.

And I just want to make this point because Arnie
and I do a show every single Sunday night from
ten to two ten p to two a. We recap
the NFL and all the days, and it depends on
kind of how you look at it. We either wrap
up the weekend or kick off the week, right, you
choose Mary mack is our is our director, and she's
here tonight so she can attest to this as well.

But Arnie, you are the same person that before that
Kansas City Chiefs game in the weather where you talk
about now it's too cold that no one should have
been playing. We're leading up to that game. And I
hate to remind you of this because you don't like
to have your awards.

No, you didn't say weather doesn't matter, and it doesn't
matter how cold it is, We're gonna beat him.

I don't know if you remember that.

But the weather, the weather in Green Bay is that
nearly like that though, Chris, So don't get all high
and mighty, and so it's only gonna be in the twenties.

Only do you know what? The cold? You know what?
The only in the twenties. It's gonna feel like seventeen
with the wind show out of the north, the ones
that didn't miles per hour.

You want to know what's so funny here? It's like
about thirty five forty And I went and went outside
to get my mail, and I'm like, whoo, and I
only had a sweatshirt and long sleeve shirt and I go, oh,
I'm cold, man, I've better run back home. This is
getting a little tough out there, but you know, it's
gotta be tough. But I wouldn't try to be a
tough guy with the no undershirt and let my arms
all bear anything like that. I've I'd wear like four

shirts if I were those players.

So there is the I was reading an article that's
on the Miami Dolphins. I guess it's like one of
the team pages for SI, and they point out, hey,
tua in and the Dolphins are oho and six when
it's forty six degrees and colder, right forty six. But
their take is that's misleading because if you think about it,

six games span over what now four seasons, it's not
the greatest sample size. But I mean it's just it's
not as if he played all that terribly in those games.
Speaker 5 (11:06):
Right, you go back to and last week is our
last week. Excuse me?
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Last year is a little bit of an anomaly, right,
I just think it was minus twenty seven was the
wind shill? There were in nineteen mile an hour winds
whenever they played Kansas City in the playoffs. I don't
know how anyone accomplished anything that night, and I've got
your back. But when they played Buffalo, he was seventeen
of thirty for twenty and thirty four yards and two touchdowns,

didn't have a pick. Josh Allen was better. You lost
that game thirty two to twenty nine, you know. So
it's not as if he's been terrible in some of
these cold weather games, aren't he as long as it's
not you know, negative degrees and you don't have any
parcipitation or any any weather that's gonna be incredibly windy,

which it doesn't look like. I'm kind of with you
on this. I don't know how big of a deal
it really truly is, because you're looking at six whole
games over the last four seasons.

Right, I think it's more of a combination of everything. Also,
the short week, the going on the road, and the
cold weather out there. You know, I was trying to
look at the line. Home field advantage is supposed to
be what between three or four points in the NFL,
All right, let's just say three and a half. The
weather is not maybe another two more points. We're making
such a big deal about it. Oh in six under

forty degrees. Everybody's heard that stat. So now you're up
to like five and a half points out there, throwing
the short work week. This line really should have been six,
six and a half in favor of green Bay. I'm
shocked that it was down the three because early money
came in on the Dolphins, so they're seeing something that
I don't. And I'm a big Dolphin fan. I hope
too has a good game. Two has been phenomenal since

coming back from the concussion. Ever since you questioned whether
he should be the quarterback and he should retire, he's
been playing his best football. So he's been absolutely a
tremendous Well it's not Alreadie.

Yeah, three of those three and a half. Oh yeah,

That seems big.

It's down to three and a half currently, and they
have the opening line for the Lions. So I'm gonna
have to dig on this. It doesn't seem right to me.
Where's where's my guys that wet the beat constantly, that live,
eaton breede spreads, come on, help me out at stinking
genius one. Uh, Lions open at three and a half.
No that now, that's that. That's bet up to nine
and a half.

Yeah, okay. She didn't want to do that. She wanted
like Jamaica or the Bahamas. I'm like, fine, fine, go
do what you want. Should have taken her for the
basketball I wanted? Did I look up she made she
made a reservation for the Dominican Republic.

Yeah, okay, I mean have I'm assumed that she's looked
into it.

And why do I get to go to the travel
that far to see the water when I'm near the

Arnie is mad because his wife tonight booked a tropical vacation, Yeah,
in the Dominican Republic.

To drive with my wife to pick off pick up
something in the hood that she bought off Facebook marketplace
that when we got there she decided she didn't want.
So I had to tell the guy she didn't want it,
and we had to get in our car and drive away.
So you you want to complain a little bit more
about this on vacation, you got to take in mad, you.

Know what, I just it's just far away to go
to some place. I guess it as a casino. So
that's gonna be fun. I hope it has a sports book.
I don't know my wife. You know I turned fifty
this year. I turned Yeah, I would have a party
for you or what.

My wife today asked me whenever we were driving to
the middle of nowhere to look at a a dresser
that she ended up not buying. She's like, what do
you want to do for your fiftieth And I like
the idea of just going to a casino or going
to a horse track or playing.

We're on the same page here. I'm going to tell
you I want to do you a favor. Your wife's listening, Yeah,
my wife never listens anything. Can you tell her she
sits at home. Don't worry about it. You and I
and all the listeners, all of them are going to Vegas, Vegas,
and we're gonna put party like rock stars.

Man, I'd say that we go to because my birthday
is in April. But maybe my plan we could plan
like a March trip so we could be there during
March madness, because isn't that doesn't everyone say that's when
you want to be the first tournament?

me and you. You leave the wives home, the girlfriend's home,

I don't care what we do. You all got to
leave by ten.

We'll start working on that. And I'm very sorry that
your wife planned a Caribbean vacation for you, Arenie in
the middle of all this.

And by the way, I'm always afraid I'll get arrested
for some reason.

like one are those tourists where people say can you

in my body language or anything else. Have you saying
indications about what we're going to be doing relative to
this staff at the end of this year? We shouldn't.

then they had their falling out and he brought in Barry,
and Barry was there for a while.

Dave Campo, Bill Parcells and then Wade Phillips.

an interim coach in twenty ten and then Garrett was

But I think in a lot of ways he's been

always more about being the general manager. It's always about
when you hear those little stories about how like he

wanted to draft Johnny Manzieu and his son at the
tackle him out of the carpet and ripped the thing

hearing stories like that, or I wasn't going to get
this guy and I waited and he you know, he
has to.

Spend extra money. It's just that his general manager decisions
have not been stellar. Let's be honest. I'mbout saying all
of it. He's done some good jobs and some good signings,
but I don't think he's been calling the shots for
a while. So I don't know how much to really

is he really trying to make trades? Is Jerry on

the most overrated quarterbacks in the history of the NFL?

more year. I don't think he's going to retire. I

do think it's going to be with the Jets, though
I don't think I want him back. I think he's done.
I think he should retire. I think his best days
are way behind him. He can't lead a good team

But people were betting on the Jets to win the
Super Bowl at the beginning of the year. I gotta
bet this team to win the Zuper Bowl. They were
getting a lot of bets. Bobby, the top three teams
to get bets to win the Super Bowl.

Chriz, I know who Antonio Pierce feels is the worst
team in the NFL, And we'll get to that. The
New York Jets are a three and eight football team.
They are a half game ahead of New England and
Vision right, and they went from being two and.

Their only win of substance was a still head scratcher
and whatever the Texans were doing on that Monday night
football game. But they've got the Seahawks and the Dolphins

the thing, if I'm a Jets fan and I want

you want to bridge with the Giants or the Raiders,

if he wants to go to a place like Indianapolis,
there's only like three or four places right now.

Thanksgiving Eve, Arnie, I feel like I'm being drawn more
towards the NFL and what might be you know, a

less instellar first two games for Thanksgiving, but a prime
time matchup that is I think very intriguing. Even though
your Dolphins are under five hundred, they've been like a
different team with Twoatago Aloa. I just feel like I'm
being pulled towards the NFL right now.

Yeah, you know that Thursday and Friday's games in the
NFL far from entertaining. I mean, like you.

You figure out you know who's going to win the
game ahead of time. And then there's the Miami Green
Bay game. And I'm actually shocked, and I brought this
up when we were on Sunday, that green Bay was
only a three and a half point favored over Miami.
You hear so much about the weather. And I you know,
I hear people arguing on Twitter. It's not like everybody
on the Dolphins was born in Florida, lived in Florida,

college in Florida.

I know that. But the numbers are the numbers.

And it's not like Tua has played in cold weather
games a lot and when he does, he loses. Remember
I what was the game was up in Kansas City? Yeah,

unfit to live in and we're playing football games and
weather like that. So the weather's not going to be
nearly as bad as it was in the Kansas City game,

but it's still gonna be cold on a short work week,
and of course the Dolphins are going to have to travel,

to get my mail, and I'm like, whoo, and I
only had a sweatshirt and long sleeve shirt and I go, oh,
I'm cold, man, I've better run back home. This is
getting a little tough out there, but you know, it's
gotta be tough. But I wouldn't try to be a
tough guy with the no undershirt and let my arms
all bear anything like that. I've I'd wear like four

shirts if I were those players.

So there is the I was reading an article that's
on the Miami Dolphins. I guess it's like one of
the team pages for SI, and they point out, hey,
tua in and the Dolphins are oho and six when
it's forty six degrees and colder, right forty six. But
their take is that's misleading because if you think about it,

six games span over what now four seasons, it's not
the greatest sample size. But I mean it's just it's
not as if he played all that terribly in those games.

Right, you go back to and last week is our
last week. Excuse me?
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Last year is a little bit of an anomaly, right,
I just think it was minus twenty seven was the
wind shill? There were in nineteen mile an hour winds
whenever they played Kansas City in the playoffs. I don't
know how anyone accomplished anything that night, and I've got
your back. But when they played Buffalo, he was seventeen
of thirty for twenty and thirty four yards and two touchdowns,

didn't have a pick. Josh Allen was better. You lost
that game thirty two to twenty nine, you know. So
it's not as if he's been terrible in some of
these cold weather games, aren't he as long as it's
not you know, negative degrees and you don't have any
parcipitation or any any weather that's gonna be incredibly windy,

which it doesn't look like. I'm kind of with you
on this. I don't know how big of a deal
it really truly is, because you're looking at six whole
games over the last four seasons.

Right, I think it's more of a combination of everything. Also,
the short week, the going on the road, and the
cold weather out there. You know, I was trying to
look at the line. Home field advantage is supposed to
be what between three or four points in the NFL,
All right, let's just say three and a half. The
weather is not maybe another two more points. We're making
such a big deal about it. Oh in six under

forty degrees. Everybody's heard that stat. So now you're up
to like five and a half points out there, throwing
the short work week. This line really should have been six,
six and a half in favor of green Bay. I'm
shocked that it was down the three because early money
came in on the Dolphins, so they're seeing something that
I don't. And I'm a big Dolphin fan. I hope
too has a good game. Two has been phenomenal since

coming back from the concussion. Ever since you questioned whether
he should be the quarterback and he should retire, he's
been playing his best football. So he's been absolutely a

talking about and he's reiterated that several times publicly. This
Super Bowl winning coach Mike McCarthy has been there, done that,

He's got great ideas. Bottom line is that no place
in my body language or anything else. Have you saying
indications about what we're going to be doing relative to
this staff at the end of this year? We shouldn't.

You covered Jerry? Yeah for what how long were you
in Dallas? But it felt like a decade.

that he's considering giving Mike McCarthy an extension. Does he

fact that Jerry didn't spend any money to get more
offensive weapons around his quarterback, and the fact that he
missed just misread the whole situation after pay all that
money to Dak Prescott to begin with. So ah, that's
not Butcarthy's fault. Let's let's be honest. It's been a
semi train wreck, and Jerry's been a big part of

Johnson was there from eighty nine to ninety three, and
then they had their falling out and he brought in Barry,
and Barry was there for a while.

Schan and I think that's when you were there, right that,
Dave Campo, Bill Parcells and then Wade Phillips.

But I mean he gave Jason Garrett all year time. Yeah,

I'm looking at it right now. He came in as
an interim coach in twenty ten and then Garrett was
a full time coach in twenty eleven, and he didn't
fire him until after the nineteen season.

It's a little bit unfair that we look get him
and say, oh he is uh he turns through coaches.
But I think in a lot of ways he's been
I don't know if the term would be loyal Arnie,

a fault. Yeah, that's not the big knockout him. It's
always more about being the general manager. It's always about
when you hear those little stories about how like he

wanted to draft Johnny Manzieu and his son at the
tackle him out of the carpet and ripped the thing
out of his head so they couldn't do it, you know,
hearing stories like that, or I wasn't going to get
this guy and I waited and he you know, he
has to.

Spend extra money. It's just that his general manager decisions
have not been stellar. Let's be honest. I'mbout saying all
of it. He's done some good jobs and some good signings,
but I don't think he's been calling the shots for
a while. So I don't know how much to really
blame him and how much he's just a figure out,
goes on the radio, talks a few things, and I mean,
is he really trying to make trades? Is Jerry on

backup offensive lineman's let's go ahadon, I need to find
what he's not doing stuff like that. So I don't
think he really has he has that is, you know,

going down every year for the last five or six years.

I know that's a terrible thing to say, right, how
dare I? But I'm tired of the excuses. I'm tired
of everyone getting fired. Just go play football and be good. Well,
there is a conversation about his future, and he addressed it.

This week as far as my future goes. I haven't
told anybody in my life that I want to play
in twenty twenty five and not in the Jets, So
that's one hundred percent false. I actually said the opposite,
you know, I said that I'm going to wait and
see what happens with at the end of the season
and if they want me back, and what happens with Brick,

and what happens with the offensive staff and obviously the
GM at the time, and you know, then they just
fired Joe. There's a lot of things out of my
control and it comes to that. But I've really enjoyed
my time in New York. I mean, obviously we haven't
had success that we've all wanted to have, but you know,
I've made some great friendships on the team. I've enjoyed
living in Jersey. I've enjoyed time in the city. I've

enjoyed getting to know the fans, and I came here
to win here. So I'm not jumping off ship, you know, like, oh,
I definitely want to play and not in New York.
I don't even know if I want to play yet,
but New York will be my first hops.

I don't even know if I want to play anymore,
but I know that it would want to be with
New York.

What do you make of this latest as the air

Well, first of all, is he people are speculating? Does
he mean New York? I could be Jets or Giants,
And you know that he's doing one of those trick
word things out there. I don't know. I think when
you hear the whole contact of it, yeah, exactly when
he did that, I think when you hear the whole
context of it, I think he meant the Jets.

I am. I'm fed up with him.

Also, you know, I know he's a Hall of Famer,
But at the same time, can you be one of
the most overrated quarterbacks in the history of the NFL?
Because he's really close to that. You know, expectations real
high and never even came close to fulfilling those expectations.
I do believe, you know, he wants to play one
more year. I don't think he's going to retire. I

do think it's going to be with the Jets, though
I don't think I want him back. I think he's done.
I think he should retire. I think his best days
are way behind him. He can't lead a good team
to a five hundred record, especially when they don't have
enough for around them. But the Jets had a pretty
decent team coming into this year, and they just look

absolutely horrible. I think Rogers looks horrible also. I retire
from him, but I think he'll come back for one
more year.

Does he come back then? Do you take him at
his word that he comes back for one more year
with the Jets?

He should really consider retirement after his injury and after
what he did to get back.

You know, I like Aaron Rodgers the football player, and
I dig Aaron Rodgers the personality. It's just we're putting
a lot of attention, Arnie towards a guy that from
the moment he stepped on the Jets. It's been a disaster.
He got hurt on fourth, fifth, sixth plays.

But people were betting on the Jets to win the
Super Bowl at the beginning of the year. I gotta
bet this team to win the Zuper Bowl. They were
getting a lot of bets. Bobby, the top three teams
to get bets to win the Super Bowl.

Chriz, I know who Antonio Pierce feels is the worst
team in the NFL, And we'll get to that. The
New York Jets are a three and eight football team.
They are a half game ahead of New England and
Vision right, and they went from being two and.

Their only win of substance was a still head scratcher
and whatever the Texans were doing on that Monday night
football game. But they've got the Seahawks and the Dolphins
and back to back weeks, I mean, three and ten.
Maybe now the Seahawks probably one of those games they
end up winning for someone own reason. But if here's

the thing, if I'm a Jets fan and I want
to win, Jets.

You want to win games, you want to go to
the Super Bowl, you want to play in the playoffs.

you want to bridge with the Giants or the Raiders,

if he wants to go to a place like Indianapolis,
there's only like three or four places right now.

somebody's gonna pay him a lot of money to be

That guy should be five. If they're gonna give him
that type of money, you're crazy.
