Mike Harmon on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Greetings, Welcome inside the Roki Sasaki postgame Show. I'm your host,
Roki Sasaki alongside me, my best friend, Roki Sasaki. Hell
me Roki Sasaki. Esquire live from me Doctor Live from
the Tokyo ti Iraq dot com studios tirect dot com.
I help you get there an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping,

(00:52):
free road hazard protection at over ten thousand recommended installers
tirat dot com. He is the way tire buying should be. Well. Yep,
another big day in for the Dodgers Major League Baseball.
We got some more on that coming up in about
twenty minutes. The big takeaway from the first two games
in Tokyo, and I don't mean Hey, was Otani's home
run a home run or not? I'm trying to look

(01:12):
and see. Yeah, okay, it's home run. It's a home run. Okay, yeah,
fan went and grabbed it was a home run? Could
you tell us going over the fence?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Did Pete Crow armstrong manne cost himself millions of dollars
by throwing the ball back into the stands?

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Yes, okay, home run? Otanna, Well, I mean bad move
by him. Happy uh, happy souvenir for a youngster? Ten
year old kids? Okay, imediately?

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Well, you know, but that's the thing you talking about.
That's the thing is that I wonted. We talked about
this Monday night, a little bit like if Otani homers
for the first time in Japan as a member of
the Dodgers, right, how.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Much is that ball work? Seven figures?

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Easy? Seven figures?

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Easy?

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Really? Because he's hit home runs in Japan, people have
home run balls and Otani is it before? This is
the first Major League Dodger seven figures right away, this
ten year old kid. More money will be more more
than the fifty to fifty ball. Yeah? Really, wow, I
should have gone to Japan. I wish I was that kid.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Could have been hanging out with Rodney pat.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I could have been catching foul balls, snatching balls away
from Max Monthly like that.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
That now we get to disprove the film if we
got to compare where glove levels are. Months he missed
the ball and Rodney Pete caught it, Rodney pea.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
That was my my evaluation.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
I don't, obviously I need the overhead view of exactly
where the ball was.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
It looked to me like months. He missed the ball,
and I think he was mad, and and maybe he
got a little distracted by the fact that somebody else
Rodney Pete uh stuck out his.

Speaker 4 (02:44):
Arm or call him out on air or anything to
where maybe they had beef previously.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
I don't know, but there will be beef now. There
will be beef now. But I mean, Rodney made a
nice catch on the foul ball, a good run.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Sure had to clear up immediately because everybody like, why
does he have a glove?

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Yeah, it gets a little embarrassing when you bring one
an adult to a baseball.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Evidently down that and he explained this in showing up
with Tim Kats and the post game of they were
on the seats. That and a helmet to protect yourself
based on there being no netting. Yeah, okay, Japanese custom, now,
yeah that should you be wearing it. That's what you
can fight about it. But the fact that it was
presented as an option to you yet you didn't have

(03:28):
to actually bring it because my first thought was, oh,
he must have gotten it from his kid who's a clubby,
So maybe he just had one of the extras from
the dugout where he just said, hey.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
I'd like a glove. My first thought is this, if
we did that in the United States. Okay, let's just
say we took the netting down and we put gloves
and helmets on every seat. How many gloves and helmets
do you think would be put back on this the
night hel many the helmets, maybe because the helmets might
be tough to go, the gloves. Forget gloves, the gloves

(03:58):
forget it all.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Baby.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
They would all have to be you know, painted like
neon pink and green as you were walking by. There
was no chance that you were getting out with him,
and then they would have to glow as you tried
to hide them under your jacket or whatever.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Up scunn Can we send an intern to play it?
Against sports and buy a bunch of you know, it
doesn't matter. We're just gonna lose them every day. Let's
just let's let's put the netting bat. Let's put him
back up a part of the show where we uh
introduced millennials. You gotta let them know who Rodney peat is. Oh,
I'm so sorry, Rodney pe Okay, I'll do it. I'll
do it the normal side for the guy who stole

(04:38):
Munsey's foul ball.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Right.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Rodney Pete was a quarterback at USC and later on
in the NFL for teams such as the Detroit Lions.
He caught a foul ball today in the near the
field of play and stealing it away from Max Munsey,
third baseman who really should have caught the ball.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Went viral Before that the former coworker of mine, I
worked with him at Fox sports dot Com for quite
quite a while doing stuff on Sundays This so that
was a good time.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
And then he's our our team made over at AM
five to seventy l a Sports doing the midday show.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
And now he's gonna be the third basement for the
Dodgers because clearly he's better than Munsie.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
It was not like he's a great fielder. It's not
like he's a great fielder. It was a great catch
and a mean bug in the whole nine yard.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
How long do you think, Max, how long do you
think till you're ready to take on a full time
DH roll? Yeah, but show he is a DH Yeah.
But we're gonna petition major League Baseball for two dhs.
We're gonna have a we're gonna have a DP it
like they do in softball, a designated player where you
just hit and you just fielder.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
Max, You're gonna be the guy who hits all the time.
I kind of dig that he said he was protecting
his wife, Uh thespian longtime star of television shows.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Sure, Holly Robinson pe Yeah, I'll tell you that was
That was some. That was some. There was no twenty
two jumping off that street TJ for him to catch
that fellow. Now, I gotta explain to millennials about what
jump street.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
But maybe they've gone back and watched the Channing Tatum
Jonah Hill. Oh yeah, okaycause that was actually pretty pretty well.
The first one funny, The second one had This first
one was really fun. The second one was clearly Hey,
we profited really well off the first one, so let's
get that second one in production. Now. I like that
it's been a couple of years. If we revisit it now,
it'd be be kind of fun.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
So we'll have more on this up. More on the
first weekend or first week of Major League Baseball. Now
in the books, the Dodgers sweeping the Cubs in the
final series. Yeah, the final series. According to LA may
or Karen bass Is, we won the final series, had
a good She needs to stay away from phones, computers.
Baseball season's over phones, Baseball seasons won the series. We

(06:34):
had thirty teams ready to go. They picked the Dodgers
and the Cubs to go play in Japan. The Dodgers
won two games. Series is over won this series, but
we're watching. We're now on NCAA Tournament eve as, the
final two of the first four games being played tonight
and earlier. Mount Saint Mary's with a win over American
eighty three seventy two, and now Texas, wanting to prove

(06:55):
that their thirteen and nineteen record is worthy of going
in the tournament, is up nine over Xavier right now,
late in the first half.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Now here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
This is why, and forget about how many teams should
be in and.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
What it is for.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Oh, you're really diluting the tournament, bab forget all of
that crazy ass crap. The last two nights clearly is
why the tournament should expand to seventy two teams, because
the first four is fun beginning tournament people watch, but
it's really difficult to get people invested in to sixteen
versus sixteen games and an eleven versus an eleven game.

(07:34):
Now I understand this is how you do it. So okay,
when you can and you try to put teams in
the people want to see, right, Hey, Texas getting you
know this this window to themselves, North Carolina getting the
window to themselves last night, two big teams. We know
the NCAA Tournament is a television show. You've said that
for years, and congratulations to everybody who has picked that
up the last few days and used that on all
of their shows on radio and TV. So the thing

(07:57):
is is that now I understand that it's hard to
get in, right, because here's okay, this game, it's a
ten point game. You expand to seventy two teams and
then you have four games a night, right, and then
you can have you expand past that. You can have
four games a night. And if you have four games
a night, it's like a mini Day one or Day
two of the NCAA tournament. You have four games in

(08:19):
a primetime window. That works, right, that absolutely works. You
can expand these teams out to seventy two, seventy six,
however you want to do it, and then that's what
you have. Then you have a night like last night
where okay, you have an eleven eleven game, you have
a sixteen sixteen game, you have another sixteen sixteen game,
or another eleven eleven game, or whatever you want to do,
or however you want to parse it out to put

(08:40):
more playing teams in, parse it out and have the
first two nights be mini NCAA tournam nights. Then everybody
is glued to their televisions there, back and forth between
True TV, they're back and forth on TBS or TNT.
You put some high profile teams on there. You have
to overwhelm with quantity when you're not sure of the quality,
and you can't get guarantee equality when you have the

(09:01):
games that we've seen, well, you can't guarantee me quality.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
Now, but that's why any point in this.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Why do you think the tournament, that's why we give
you all the games every day because eventually you're gonna
find a game. Yes, so that's what you need to
You need to throw quantity at it. And and these
first two nights now, obviously they have become a thing.
It's part of the schedule. I love I love the plan.
It's it's helping the tournament own the week. But it
owns the week more if you have two more games
on each night. Right, So so put eight more teams

(09:29):
in all in playing situations, right, make them play in
I don't think you're gonna get a lot of people
upset at Hey, we're adding teams, so you don't get snubbed.
This is gonna happen. And you got to play your
way in right. You gotta win an extra game, then
you gotta win again. You gotta win three games in
the week if you want advance of this week sixteen,
and you got to do it against high seats. No
one's going to complain. You're not watering down the tournament
because you already have a first four event, so why

(09:51):
not make it an event that people really are going
to make sure I'm at the television four Because what's
better than the than the two first days of the
tournament Thursday in Friday, having primetime nights on Tuesday and
Wednesday being full half day tournament or a quarter day
tournament nights. We have four games going on at once
on Tuesday, four games on Wednesday, the full slate Thursday Friday.

(10:14):
Really go all out for it. At this point, what
what what do you You've You've broken past the seal
of sixty four. So once you broken past that seal, hey,
you know, let's add more teams and let's have that turn.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
Look, we've already gone past the charade of anything having
to do with education at this point in the way
that everything gets scheduled, that's long gone.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
All right.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
We pushed that out the out the window, and eventually
they'll realize that on the football side and stop clinging
to that that last bashing of things. Look, we started
the week by joking about the NC Double A. As
North Carolina got in.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
I like that.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
They went out and kicked ash yesterday. See we belonged. Okay, great,
maybe you did, maybe you didn't.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
You beat it.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
We beat another eleventh seed. We belong clearly, you know,
because that became a big hot topic for debate. Hey,
did this prove that the committee got right? No to
our quad two win total? Our quad two, don't ask
about quad one. Wow, two win totals are really good.
It's fuzzy math, but all of it to say, it's
all a giant television show. It's all a giant bettings show.

(11:18):
I mean, how many articles before and we get into
the Challenger and Christmas, the old surveys they do and
estimates of how much productivity is lost in the first week.
To heal with it, add another couple of days because
people need to get on the roads because they got
to watch and bet and be part of these games
as well. So push all that aside, all of those charades.

(11:40):
You know, the suspension of disbelief we do when we
walk into a movie theater.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Same thing here.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
Trying to cling on to any bit of the integrity
of NC DOUBLEA and student athlete that's long gone.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
So let's just keep expanding it. Add more and more teams.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
It doesn't matter because we're eventually whittling it down to
one anyway. So if everybody that played a division one
game gets in. Who the hell cares? Give us full
days of games from sun up to sundown like it's
a college football Saturday. We'll all be grinning and happy
because our brackets are alive or they're dead, or because

(12:22):
these all count. Is one point, we don't care. Give
us more games, more betting opportunities, and more TV windows.
Everybody wins.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
See, I'm up for every D one team getting in
right every time, one through at three hundred and thirty,
whatever it is. And then you just play every day
and every day the field is halved until you have
a champion. So you play for like what's our half?
Like I don't know, Like maybe I don't know. It's
like fourteen days in a row. You would play.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Let's see that. Let's see let's see slap at.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
The end of it.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
Right, watch the broadcast teams. They look like they're at
the Remember in Batman when they couldn't use any of
their makeup and stuff because the Joker contaminated all.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Let's see how they look after four or five days
of that. Rick Patino's white suit, he'd look like Slash
by the end of.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
Ye I'm playing fourteen days in a row.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Here we won, I got his gotta keep wearing it.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Drumber quit today. Yeah yeah, I saw that good old Frank.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
Well that's all right. Runs Frank Frere was a good run. Yeah,
I means coming back, I would I would think so.
I mean, I think that would open the door.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Baby.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Stephen Adler was like, hey, don't forget about me. Don't
forget about me, guys, don't forget.

is why the tournament should expand own the nights even more.

(14:02):
Now we got more NCAA tournament on the way, but
a big story out of the NFL coming up next.
We are now playing survivor with teams that are gonna
sign a quarterback in free agency, and we can now
knock one off the list and eliminate them the tribe spoken.
They still say that when they blow out the Oh yeah,

(14:23):
still a thing that's coming up next right here, Chasing
and Mike Fox Sports Radio. Now take the music out
so I can do the blowing thing. Now take the
music out, so I take the music out. Trying to

(14:45):
blow them up.

Speaker 4 (14:46):

and you play this song like, come on man, what
Like I'm being a nice guy all the time. I
buy it and here's what happens. This is how I
get fat. How long have I been on the show?

Speaker 4 (16:26):
At least three years?

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Okay, here's the secret.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
When you hate something, what do we do? You keep
playing it? So whats when you like it?

Speaker 1 (16:34):
It doesn't matter, you would still play it. It doesn't
matter what you're catching on. I could say I love
this song, and you would say, yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
Okay, you know, in just a couple of days, we're
going to celebrate the fortieth anniversary.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
Yes, song, We're not going to celebrate anything. Oh, we
are gonna play it, and it's gonna be one of
those things where we actually he'll be gone. So what
does he care? Sure he's taking like a month off.
Lakers and the Nuggets underway, And I'll tell you what
an incredible night Jokich, Frostburg. How many points for Yokitch
and Murray so far in this game?

Speaker 4 (17:05):
That would be as many as the Knicks had against
the Lakers. Zero.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
Okay, Yes, the Nuggets resting everyone tonight, and I thought
for sure, Hey, Nuggets doing the right thing here, rusting
Jokic the first game of back to backs, resting last nights.
You're gonna play Wednesday. No, no, no, no Nicola Jokic,
no Jamal Man elbow contusion, no Danissel, no Kiki vandaway
not happening.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
Lakers with the lead right now early over the Nuggets
eighteen to twelve. Yeah, we gotta be careful, like you
start going down Nuggets legends. A bunch of those guys
have passed Alex English. I can't I can't go too deep.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Yeah uh yeah, okay, what Nuggets legends could be? You know,
you can go to like Robert Pack I think, and
you know got Nuggets legends.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
Yeah, I mean this game in one title they get legends. No, no, no,
but I mean guys that are you know in the
lexicon that you remember from your trading car Yeah, you
know package.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Oh yeah, like you guys from the nineties. One guy
from the nineties, what was his name, mamudab no no,
no matumbo.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Well obviously you're talking the more Hawks.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Yeah yeah, oh yeah, sure, Lafonzo Ellis yeah, and Carmelo
Anthemy yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
Yeah, Nuggets legend.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
I forgot that this This game looked great on the
schedule when it was Wow, man, this is gonna be
Lebron and Luca and Jokic and Murray and o No
NOx games and eight days. Look at that one.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
You're just gonna get Luca. Okay, you're just gonna get Lucia.
He's already got a couple of big shots. A nice
finger roll. Yeah, I mean that was good.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
Tell you the six games and eight days thing. When
that ends for the Lakers, Hey, welcome back Lebron is.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
It like he's gonna be like he's in the elimination
chamber from the WWE when you're standing in a corner
he is, and then the lights start going and then
there's a countdown and then the door opens and you
can run out.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
He is. He is absolutely going to come back to
the first game after the six and eight are over.
He is absolutely coming back Saturday. That's it.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
Hey, we're gonna get Lebron, all right, that's he's.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
Going to do the splits. He already did that at
his kids state championship game.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Imagine your kid doing that.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
No, No, I have no doubt.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
Hey, good for him, except when you're claiming that you're
out for two weeks because of a groin injury, like
you're a backup dancer for any of the UH Stadium
Tours eighties. But I pulled Laker fan.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
I know they don't seem to have an issue. Nobody cares.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
No, they don't seem to care. No, it doesn't. And
Adam Silver has no he will out or anything because
the last couple of weeks, every star player and team
they're doing the old Uh. Look up the album cover
from Too Old to Rock and roll to young to
die from Jethro tell uh, it's a kind of gesture
you would getting a lot of uh Italian and Irish

(19:51):
neighborhoods back in the day to tell you to beat it.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
Uh so yeah, speaking of basketball, of course, like basketball,

Speaker 4 (20:31):
I'm gonna build a chicken coop when I win, Okay, replies.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Okay, leather face. Sure that sounds that sounds like a
good thing to do. I'm gonna build their face. You're
gonna build a chicken coop? What do you mean?

Speaker 4 (20:43):
Hey, I'm taking down my cost of eggs.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Hell, are you talking about picturing you with the with
the with the the butcher's apron and the and the
pig face. It's you know, you slid over, you going
around holding the chainsaw up in the middle of the
road and dropping it, holding it up and dropping it
and holding it up and dropping it at the end.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
Sorry spoiler alert, except just picturing you doing that with
the uh the bateman from from the American psych So
the uh.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
The six games and eight nights ends for the Lakers
tomorrow when they play back to back against Milwaukee. So okay,
I gotta think Saturday against the Bulls, Lebron's gonna be
fresh and rare and and ready to go.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
Ninth place in the Eastern Conference.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Chicago Buck, Okay, hey, you are playing dangerous? Kobe White
play Eastern Conference. Just texted me he's not playing tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
Ah, really, is Doc still coaching tomorrow?

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Taking off?

Speaker 4 (21:44):
Doc's taking out? Okay, that's fine. What do you think
that meeting with Johannison Lillard was? Listen, I need some
time off.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
I gotta go watch White lotus. I mean, everybody's talking
about the Sam Rockwell stuff, and I gotta watch it.
I mean, they say I always got this big long
thing and a whole monologue that I gotta watch, and
it's really weird. I don't know, I don't anything about it,
but I gotta go.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
Watch it, because that's what they were saying about Jason Isaacs.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
Oh okay now, but it's it's more, uh yeah, you know,
the more I read about it, the more I just
don't understand what like what like this is about? What? Okay,
like this is why I think AIS taking over too
much of the internet, because now with with a I
writing so many articles, I'm like, all right, I don't
really understand what you're saying here.

Speaker 4 (22:23):
Okay that that's great, all right, that's fine, that's all right.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
So I know, big scene Sam Rockwell monologue plays a
really weird character where weird stuff happened.

Speaker 4 (22:33):
That's about all I know.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
No spoilers, it's Sam rock Well. He doesn't understand it.
How's he gonna do it?

Speaker 4 (22:38):
I can't smiling. I don't understand figure out what the
hell is understand hot people on a beach, No I do.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
But it's worse.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
It's worse than that. It's like you got to take
it a Layer Beyond Thee with Murder. Uh yeah, yeah,
there is no.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
But I think it's like it gets like it's dark,
like his character is dark, like like it's I think
it is without knowing something. Is he get a fight
iron Man again?

Speaker 4 (22:58):
I just know because every time I go through like
show up with a bad rushing accent, I go.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
Through like Yahoo and I go, I don't understand all this.
I feel like that that sketch from Saturday Night Live
when when Dealer no Deal came out and Antonio Benderis
was the contestant and he had no idea what was
going on. He just kept hitting the button. Yes, okay,
when you want a deal, you hit the button.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
No deal. No, no, you don't hit the button. He says,
I don't know what's going on, but I'm so excited.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
No deal, and he keeps it. But no deal, no deal.
But speaking of no deal, no deal, no deal for
Aaron Rodgers and the Vikings, According to reports earlier today,
the Vikings have decided against signing Aaron Rodgers and now
they go forward saying we are really really confident in
JJ McCarthy. Okay, first of all, I gotta give the

(23:42):
Vikings credit, but not too much credit because they dangled
their waters, their feet in the waters or whatever waters,
and wanted to dangle their feet in thinking about doing
something so stupid as kicking Sam Darnold to the curb
to say, we believe in JJ McCarthy, but oh no, no,
we're gonna go get Aaron Rodgers to come in. And
Rodgers is not coming in to sit on the bench.
He's coming in to start, right he'd be a mentor anything.

(24:04):
You're not coming into sit anywhere. He's coming into start,
Which tells you, Number one, that just the fact they
were thinking about this, Number one, this tells you the
Vikings are not as confident in JJ McCarthy as they
want to say they are. But they are forced into this,
and they've been forced into it from the beginning because
Donald played great last year, McCarthy got hurt. Donald played great.

(24:25):
Now what the hell do you do? And they decide
we're gonna go with JJ McCarthy. Now, this should have
been JJ McCarthy all full steam ahead, right if you
believe in JJ McCarthy, you weren't gonna bring Sam Donald
back right away. It was we love Sam, we're letting
him at free Agency. We love JJJJ is our guy.
But now with Aaron Rodgers being a story the last
year is oh, we've decided against it, Like why are
you even kicking the tires on this? Like this is

(24:47):
where I know I could be a better general manager
and I can run a football team sometimes better than
teams do. Because this is I would say, what the
hell kind of message you putting out there? Either you
like JJ McCarthy or you don't. You look stupid for
how you got rid of Sam Darnald Goodled even stupider
if you went out and signed Aaron Rodgers. But this
shows you no matter what, they don't believe in McCarthy
as much as they say they do. Now that being said,

(25:09):
I'll finish on the positive with this point is that
they did the right thing. If they brought in Rogers,
it would just be an absolute mess because then suddenly
all the questions come up and let's say Rogers beats
out McCarthy in the summer, is McCarthy even gonna play? No,
we're not taking trade phone calls on JJ McCarthy, And
instead you're starting a guy that the Jets kick to

(25:30):
the curb instead of a guy you could have been
starting who was a Pro Bowl quarterback last year, walked
in off the street and threw for four thousand yards
and thirty five touchdowns.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
And before you sit.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
Here and tell me, well, you know the money that
they saved not having Sam Donald, we signed other players
are yeah, but quarterback is the most important position. It's
the one you're supposed to pay for because it affects
every single other position. So don't give me this.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
Why you know, he wouldn't have gotten a tackle.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
It wouldn't go who hadn't gotten this guy wouldn't got
this got No, you have to take care of the
quarterback when you can't. So the Vikings they made the
right decision. But it doesn't mean they're innocent, right, That's
what I'm saying. They made it, but they're not innocent
in screwing up and being stupid. But they made the
right decision in the end.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
But this is as we sit here on Wednesday, March nineteenth,
the eve of the NCAA Tournament, watching the Lakers and
Nuggets get after it in the first four games and
all of these fun and excitement. Jason is Brett fav
You know what day he signed with the Vikings when
he was allegedly done and out of the running of anything. Ah,

(26:32):
no deal August eighteenth, which means for March nineteenth, they're out,
And now it becomes the all right, let's not have
this hanging over JJ McCarthy said, it's a lesser version
of the bastardization of things that we saw in Cleveland
with Deshaun Watson and why Joe Flacco couldn't come back. Yeah,

(26:53):
we couldn't have him in the locker room. I think
it's the same idea. But they still have some concerns
about what they have with JJ McCarthy, which is why
that door was cracked open. So what Adolt Famnza and
O'Connell and everybody. It's kind of going, well, we love
JJ McCarthy to a point because they don't know where
he is physically. You can tell me all the things

(27:15):
about the whiteboard and what he learned while he was
on the sidelines.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
And all of that.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Physically, can he take a hit right now? I know
we have a few months before we have to put
that to practice, but physically, as he recovered from both
those knee surgeries, and tell me all you want the
second one, well was just clean up that means it
was an issue from the first one.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
I mean, so now you're trying to figure that out
and you still have to have a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (27:39):
Now.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
I like what they did with the roster, I really do,
but that was all predicated on me.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
We love JJ McCarthy, and clearly they don't. They don't
love him nearly as much as they say. And that's
that's that's when I that's what I mean when I say, boy,
I could have done this job. I could have walked
in and said, okay, here's.

Speaker 4 (27:55):
What you guys need.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
I'd have been that. I'd have been that big consultant
that comes into nobody like h just crazy ass consultant
coming in from well.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
They normally take everybody that's already in the building's idea,
repackage him, put slap their label on it, and then
charge you a million dollars. I just keep thinking back
to mythic quest.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
They keep referring to Montreal, Montreal is gonna come in here,
and David Biddles be saying Montreal's gonna come in. I
got something I think I kick like I would reckin.
I would say, okay, let let's let's let's let's everybody
calm down here. Yes, did Sam Donald have a bad
last couple of games?

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (28:21):
He did? Uh? Do we know that JJ McCarthy's good? Well,
we said not. Do we know he's any good? Do
we know he's going to be healthy?

Speaker 4 (28:28):
All right?

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Right, so let's do this. Then let's franchise Sam Donald
for a year. But that costs forty million dollars. Yes,
but look what Sam what was your record last year?
Fourteen and three? Right?

Speaker 3 (28:37):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (28:38):
Yeah, yeah, okay? And uh was he or was he not?
One of the top three quarterbacks in the NFC?

Speaker 3 (28:43):
He was?

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Okay, So this is the guy you want to get
rid of. And this is a guy you want to
look at me defending Sam darg This is how crazy,
topsy turvy the world is. Hey, so this is what
you want to do. Great, this is what you want
to do. You want to say goodbye to this guy
and go to this guy, right because you love him
so much.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
It's really what you want to do, right.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Yeah, I get it's gonna be difficult, but you kind
of lucked into a golden goose here. Don't you want
to see if he can be the guy and then
if Sam Donald plays well again next year, guess what
you could trade JJ McCarthy and get something for him.
And here's the other parts. If Sam Donald's not good
next year, you can put JJ McCarthy in and he's
still in a rookie deal for you. So I get it. Well,

(29:22):
we're not gonna get that left top. We're not gonna
get this the right. Yeah, I get it. You're gonna
be a little hamstrung because you're spending money on a
quarterback for one year, or if you love the guy,
hey go three years, spend less money on him. But no,
this is what you wanted to do to have a
situation where you were debating signing Aaron Rodgers. But we
love JJ McCarthy so much. The Vikings are full of it.

(29:44):
They're absolutely full of it. And I get to laugh
a little bit, even though they didn't really sign right,
because boy, that would have been great. But I mean,
when it comes down to it, they did what they
needed to do because they knew, Okay, we can't save
face if we go on get Aaron Rodgers. But boy,
just the fact that they went down this road, you know,
that's all finding good. It's like the Motley Crew, Hey,
this is our last show. Nonsense, and any other band

(30:07):
that said, hey, we're done, this is really the last
time you're gonna see us, and then six months later, wait,
you lost all your money doing what damn it?

Speaker 4 (30:16):
We gotta go back out. All right, Well we're really
not that old. Everybody's still kind of healthy. We like money,
we don't like sitting at home. Let's go back on
a tour. Same thing, but for the vice cas is
also the the you need an insurance play here right
it's required, it's required by law to have gard insurance.

(30:36):
Same thing here, it's do you have to have the
expensive package? No, but you need something because right now
you got nothing. Remember Daniel Jones was that guy we
talked about him as a wild card scenario. Maybe he
would be the next Sam Darnold, and just guess what,
the Colts decided to spend a lot of money and
bring him on as their guy. Now they lost a
bunch of the offensive linemen to wear Tada Minnesota, so

(31:00):
they lost a little bit in that process. But now
you still need that insurance policy. Whether it's gonna be
Aaron Rodgers eventually or Russ Wilson or whatever's behind door
number three, you still need to go find it, because remember,
up until twenty four hours ago, there was still the
hey JJ McCarthy teams weren't kicking the tires saying well,
maybe you don't love him so much, so we'll trade

(31:22):
for him. We'll bring him on and make him our guy.
So you at least to showed that part, but you
still haven't put another guy in a uniform in the
locker next to McCarthy.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Exit out about a Fresca exit Swallen Dome, Jason Smith,
Mike Harmon live from the tire rack dot Com studio.
So there you go, congratulates, but you backed up into
doing the right thing. Kind of not kind of time
ow to find out what's trending in the wide world
of sports. So someone who's been called the Aaron Rodgers
of Fox Sports Radio a couple of times a year,
she goes in a darkness retreat, we don't know where

(31:53):
she is for a few days, comes back out, comes
to work.

Speaker 4 (31:56):
It's Monty Bolanos.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
I mean, no, cap, I.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
Get that, I get that. I'm into it.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
I'm into it. Guys.

Speaker 5 (32:02):
We're gonna start in the NBA because Luka Dancic has
twenty points in the first quarter, and there's still ninety
seconds to go. Nuggets playing with aut Nikola Yogic with
al Jamal Murray both dealing with ankle injuries. So the
Lakers are on top forty two to twenty seven, again,
still ninety seconds to go in the first quarter. A
couple of teams playing spoiler today.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
I'm going to begin with the Spurs.

Speaker 5 (32:22):
The Spurs spoiled the Knicks. I'm sorry, Jason, but it
was thanks to this guy.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Mambo kaylas phey outside right, hands it off the castle,
then sets a screen form back to Mamo straight away,
fakes the pickupop three, drives it inside white hatch flab
for Sandro Mamu Kaylasheely.

Speaker 5 (32:39):
I've never heard that name in my life. Thank you,
Spurs Radio Network, Sandro Mamu Kaylashvili.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
That's a fake highlight. You played a fake highlight that
was AI generated.

Speaker 4 (32:49):
Stop it. That was actually qu not happened.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 5 (32:52):
Off the bench fourteen thirteen to fifteen from the field,
seven of seven from the three point line, thirty four
points for this guy, the leading scorer.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
They beat the Knicks.

Speaker 5 (33:02):
Pelicans also decided to play spoiler against the Timberwolves in Minnesota.
They won it one nineteen to one to fifteen Zon
Williamson twenty nine points and eight assists. Rockets have won
eight in a row after defeating the Magic one sixteen
to one oh eight, and the Pistons came back to
beat the Heat in Miami went sixteen to one thirteen.
Cad Cunningham with the game winning three pointer over bam

(33:23):
Adebayo triple double twenty five points, twelve rebounds and eleven assists.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
The first four.

Speaker 4 (33:29):
Continues in the opening round.

Speaker 5 (33:31):
We'll call it of the men's NCAA tournament, And right
now it's still fifteen minutes to go. In the second half,
Texas is on top of Xavier fifty seven to forty seven.
The winner is going to face Illinois in the first
round officially, and Mount Saint Mary's took down America in
eighty three to seventy two, so the Mountaineers are going
to face one seed Duke in the first round on Friday.
And in the NFL. In case you missed it, the

(33:53):
Athletic reported not long ago that free agent wide receiver
Stefon Diggs is in Foxborough today or was in Foxboro today,
meeting with the Patriots. And Texans and defensive end Danil
Hunter have agreed to a one year, thirty five point
six million dollar extension, making him the second highest paid
defensive end in the NFL. Back to you, guys, thanks
a bunch, Sandro, Sandro, Mamukelashvili.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
Very good done. Now ye who now, now look at
me in the eyes. Don't break eye contact with me.
One hundred dollars. You could spell his name without me, no, mamu.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
Mamu, emmy, have you okay?

Speaker 3 (34:26):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (34:26):
You doing get half of it? Like thirty percent of it?
Because I was like thirty percent of the name.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
That's not that's four on like twenty seven letters.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
It's not thirty eight. So it's fuzzy mad Okay, girl.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
Math it's math In.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
It's math In.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
I'm Mathan, I'm Monsey, and I'm math In.

Speaker 5 (34:42):

of the first four, twelve and a half to go
in the second half. Meanwhile, right now, Luka Doncic is
on pace for eighty four points. Lakers are thumping the

(35:41):
Nuggets right now, playing without Jokich, without Murray Sophy wended
fifty one to twenty nine with about eleven minutes to
go in the second quarter. It has been all Lucas
so far. We got more in this game coming up

what are we gonna see in the next few days?
Some Big Bowl predictions for the first weekend of the
NCAA tournament.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
You ready, Yeah, it's number one.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
Everybody's favorite team because I say that facetiously because they're not.
North Carolina will validate by getting to the sweet sixteen. Right,
They don't have very difficult games ahead, Oh, missus winnable.
Iowa State likely is going to win over Big Daddy
Lipscomb and move on.

Speaker 4 (36:56):
So, yeah, this is not tough.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
RJ.

Speaker 1 (36:59):
Davis is a terrific workhorse guard. You saw how well
he played the other night. North Carolina is playing with
a chip on their shoulder, and I and the ACC
it wasn't a great year for them, but it's still
a little bit better. The ACC is better than people
think and the SEC is not quite as good as
people think it is. But North Carolina here winning this game.
They seem to have a little bit something about them.

(37:19):
And you know, when it comes to guard playing the tournament,
Davis is hot already going into this. It's not like
they have Michigan State coming up next to Auburn. So no,
they got a couple of winnable games coming up with
Ole Miss and Iowa State. Give me North Carolina the
Sweet sixteen.

Speaker 4 (37:33):
Yeah, I kind of went the same route again owing
to what we saw from Davis yesterday. Can fill it up.
And we know about just having that one guy. It's
like the hot goalie theory. When we get to the NHL.
I'll give you one Danny Hurley. Enjoy him for the
forty minutes.

Speaker 1 (37:51):
Oh, you're saying he's gonna fight you for that, He's not.
He's gonna be He's leaving. No, he's leaving the game
right now to come fight. He just heard that. He's
turnket break, turning the car around. He's going home.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
He'll be at at at a desk as part of
the studio show.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
He'll be here before we get off the air at
eleven o'clock, he's comingting and go where's that Harma? Kick
his ass. I'm the best coach in college. Yeah, I'm the.

Speaker 4 (38:11):
Best radio host. Get the hell out of here, number two.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
Speaking of the SEC, I will say this, after this weekend,
four four SEC teams will be.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
Let that's it now, the best you're killing off all
of those teams Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
Those what you're saying more teams. Rest of those teams
did not deserve to come to the tournament. Well, the
rest of the teams either aren't very good because I'm sorry,
you got teams in that are six and twelve and
eight and eleven in conference. But it was hard, not
that good man. It just isn't hard. It's not you
can't hard to win on the road. Now, it's hard
to win at home. It's just that tough. Most most

(38:54):
of the teams honestly have two difficult draws or a
combination of not being good enough with you're gonna see
or their draws are a little difficult to try to
move on. Right that that that's gonna be. That's gonna
be the tough part for getting on right a team
like Mississippi State, right, like, okay, you got Baylor, but
then you're playing Duke. Okay, so you're not going to
the sweet sixteen. So it's just yes, it's great to

(39:14):
have these teams in, but four four SEC teams will
be alive after this weekend. Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee.

Speaker 4 (39:21):
We only get one win from Gonzaga before they go home.
A wow.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
So Kenzaga is kind of going from hey, we we
sneak into the tournament and we pull up sets.

Speaker 4 (39:32):
Now we're a big dog, and now we're going back.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
To where we sneak in the time. I mean we
drew an eight seed.

Speaker 4 (39:38):
Okay, that doesn't mode well with Houston sitting there with
the one. There are other number ones that you can
you can topple. I don't think that's the one to
go get last one.

Speaker 1 (39:48):
Yeah, two players to not sorry, two non Cooper Flag
players will be talking about a lot over the course
the next couple of weeks because every every year we
get the big stars coming out of college basketball, we
get the big stars coming out Number one. I kind
of let the cat of the bag in it last night.
R J. Lewis the Saint John's Big East Player of
the Year. He's athletic. You're gonna see his stock rise.

(40:10):
People are gonna see him as boys. He's the next
great two way player. He does in a lot of
shots on the outside, but he is the go to
score for Saint John's. He is the the cattlest for
what they can do defensively. He's going to be the
guy we talk of. Go Wow, look at this Big
Eiast Player of the year. Argie, He's a guy. We'll
talk about Candary Richmond Shore and and Davin Smith and
but but he's gonna be the guy. He's gonna get

(40:31):
all the ink because Patino's gonna win. We're gonna talk
about the white suit.

Speaker 4 (40:35):
But there's your guy. We're gonna talk about a lot
of Patino and eventually facing off literally duking it out
with Cali Ferry could be fun. Uh, Watford's not winning,
but we're gonna watch the guy with his granny style
free throw hunting.

Speaker 1 (40:48):
So he'll become a legend. And I've already looked. He
doesn't have to be training.

Speaker 4 (40:52):
Courage for me to profit.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
Uh. Another guy just really quick. I'll give him to you.
Jace Richardson Jason Richardson's kid, which shows you how old
you are? How dare you didn't start didn't start from
Michigan State till like a month ago, but wow, has
he been some much a lot of the Big ten
tournament watching.

Speaker 4 (41:08):
He's going to be another guy.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
We start talking about a tons as a tournament. O.

Speaker 4 (41:12):
What kills me is the fact that ISO got me again. O. Yeah, sorry, sorry,
but I'm sorry about that every year. I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
See there's our big bull predictions coming up next. We
got big stuff out of the NFL. This is Fox.

Speaker 2 (41:26):

(41:59):
version posted right after we get off the air. So
now officially the Vikings have said no to Aaron Rodgers.
What is next? Now? Joining us on the hot line
a man who I promise you will give us a
very good take on these topics and more. He has
a long time NFL insider, He has a pro football haul,

(42:19):
a very good voter. Check him out to a thirty
third team on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two. It
is the aforementioned Jason Cale. What's happening? Man?

Speaker 3 (42:32):
Do you think Wody Johnson has realized that Justin Fields
is his quarterback? Yet? Do we think that he knows that?

Speaker 1 (42:41):
Do you?

Speaker 3 (42:41):
Well?

Speaker 1 (42:42):
May?

Speaker 3 (42:43):
And then maybe after realizing that, after that realization, they'll
say Rogers, bring back Rogers? Like that would be the
thing that like it'd be like when Darrell Reeves left
and went to Tampa and then, you know, a couple
of years later he said we gotta bring him back
and pay him even more. Like he's just going to
fast forward and just get through all the sort of

(43:03):
foreplay to this and just get right back to I
need Rogers back. Is that what's going to happen?

Speaker 4 (43:09):
Is he going to say that or is that going
to be Brick Johnson, who says.

Speaker 3 (43:11):
It, adding to the intrigue, Well, my father likes Son,
so might as well be Brick.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
Willie.

Speaker 4 (43:22):
Well, but he wouldn't like reave us leave long enough
to walk back into the Jets' locker room with a
super Bowl ring.

Speaker 3 (43:29):
That's true. He need to go get a super Bowl
ring with some other team, like go win win with
the Steelers. Hey, how do you like this right there?
That would be classic if he won a Super Bowl
and they brought him back when he was like forty
five years.

Speaker 1 (43:44):
Old or something.

Speaker 3 (43:47):
You can do it for you can do it, Okay.

Speaker 1 (43:50):
So what happens now?

Speaker 3 (43:51):
Ja?

Speaker 4 (43:51):
Cal is it the stale? I mean, because here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
If he supposed if Rogers supposedly has this offer from
the Steelers, like, why wouldn't he have taken that already?

Speaker 4 (43:58):
I mean seriously?

Speaker 1 (43:59):
So, I mean really is.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
Because look, he likes the offensive situation. I mean, if
you if you had a chance to have Kevin O'Connell
and j Justin Jefferson be in the same division with
the Packers and get your for Brett far Vaughan, which
is really weird given their relationship early on, But I mean,
I understood that the attraction went to do the Vikings,

(44:25):
but the Vikings, like you can't invest in a quarterback
one year and say yeah, let's just keep putting the
software company like that. Eventually your owner sits there and goes,
what are we doing here? Why why do we draft
this guy with the first round pick?

Speaker 1 (44:41):
Come in?

Speaker 3 (44:42):
There's logic to this eventually, So.

Speaker 1 (44:46):
Eventually eventually, because just eventually talking about him is ridiculously stupid.

Speaker 3 (44:53):
But okay, no, it's not ridiculously stupid to consider all
your options. It's ridic It was as stupid to keep
you know, keep it going as long as they did.
Like you just have to say, no, we drafted this guy.
We're moving on. Like we committed to this guy a
year ago. We understand he got hurt and we had
to go to Donald because we had Donald as a backup.

(45:15):
That that was just you know, a plan that went well.
This is putting off the plan that you put in
the first place. And that's just the.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
Gotcha. All right.

Speaker 4 (45:26):
So as the Nomino's fault, I mean, what does Pittsburgh
do at this point?

Speaker 1 (45:31):
Is it Mason Rudolph or bust?

Speaker 3 (45:36):
Is there an option there or is it just those
those go together, you know, Mason Rudolph Bust Like, that's
just what it is.

Speaker 4 (45:46):
Well, but see the placeholder and they draft a guy
at twenty one or make a trade or.

Speaker 3 (45:53):
No, they go and get Rogers. I mean, this is
the next best place for him to play, and it's
the next best place for him to want to go.
He's got a couple of receivers. Yeah, they're you know,
they're both kind of a pain, pain in the rear,
but they're talented. And it's not perfect offensive place, and

(46:13):
it's Pittsburgh. But look, you made most of your life
work in Green Bay. You know. Pittsburgh's just you know,
Green Bay with three rivers. That's basically what it is.
So just go make our work there for another year
or two and try and win a Super Bowl. Like,
focus on football for a little while. Pittsburgh is a
great place. If you focus on football and you're good

(46:34):
at football, they will love you. You will be a
hero forever. They will pave the streets in goals for
you know, no pun intending. So just just stop overthinking this.
But asking Aaron Rodgers to not overthink something is like

(46:55):
asking a rattlesnake not to bite, like it's just it
just can't help themselves.

Speaker 1 (47:03):
Well, because I look at it like this, Jacol, if
you're the Steelers, like really, what the hell are you
doing at quarterback? Right? Like we saw the story today
that hey, they didn't offer Darnold nearly as much money
as the Seahawks did. Like, like Mike Tomlin understands, you
need a really good quarterback to win, right, you can't
just keep shopping in the bar, which is.

Speaker 3 (47:23):
Why, which is why he didn't.

Speaker 1 (47:27):
I mean, but I feel like the NFL was passing
him by, Like, Okay, we're gonna try to make it
work with a couple of quarterbacks nobody wanted.

Speaker 4 (47:32):
Okay, that didn't work last year.

Speaker 1 (47:34):
Now we're going to go for a guy the Jets
didn't want, and we think that's gonna work. Like I
get that Tomlin is a my way or the highway.

Speaker 3 (47:40):
Got nothing that the Jets do, do I take as
a sign of what I should do.

Speaker 1 (47:52):
Whatever Jets do do the opposite. Okay, sure right they are.

Speaker 3 (47:55):
The Jets are the Stanza of the NFL.

Speaker 1 (47:59):
So so when it was the Jets should trade for Rogers,
it was nobody trade for him. Now the Jets, release Rogers.
Everybody go get Rogers.

Speaker 3 (48:08):
Absolutely, everybody should line up and say I need to
have this guy. If the Jets don't want him, you
want to. I mean, it was the same thing with Revs.
They traded away reves Win. He was in the middle
of his career. Granted he was hurt, but they traded
away Revs because we're so tired of having to pay him.

(48:30):
He's a star. You need to pay him. That's how
this works. So look, you know, if you're Pittsburgh and
you have a you have a defense that is as
good as the one that they have. And I'm not
saying it's the best defensively, it's very good. Okay to
borrow a phrase from a certain host, it's a very

(48:54):
good defense they have. They just bought another big time
weapon on the outside. They've got an offensive coordinator who
runs a solid offense. I wouldn't call it great if
it's a solid offense, especially if you can get a
running back and he run some play action. And this
is going to be the best quarterback he's ever had,

(49:16):
So give him the best quarterback. And again, Aaron, stop
overthinking this. You know you think you want to go
to the Giants and you know, like show up with
Hey Johnson like that's a bad plan, Like how stupid
can you be? Like, I'm going to go sign on
with an organization that you know got dead weight at

(49:36):
the general manager. I mean the team that, oh, let's
get let Saquon Barkley go Like that's really smart and
the one of the team that is probably going to
draft a quarterback anyway if you want step into that metch.
So just go to a team that's ready to win
and sign on now and commit to him. Now. I've
heard some good things about how Rogers went to his

(49:58):
teammates with the Jets. Cool. Great, that's better than I
expected to be. So now go make it work in
Pittsburgh for a year or two, as long as as
long as you think you can play, as long as
the team thinks you can play, Go do it there.
That's your best shot. And I know the AFC is
a Hornets nests when it comes to quarterbacks. You're Aaron Rodgers.

(50:18):
You ain't scared of anybody there.

Speaker 1 (50:21):
It is. Put it on a T shirt.

Speaker 4 (50:22):
It's Jason Gole with us at Jason Goal sixty two
where you find him the author of eight books, including
l Way a Relentless Life. He calls himself exceedingly blunt.
It's the Jason Smith Show with me and Mike Carman
here from the Tirack dot Com Fox Sports Radio studios.
All right, let's talk about one of those other quarterbacks
in the AFC. He's got his two weapons back in
Chase and Higgins. They paid bank. Are they going to

(50:45):
have to outscore everybody thirty seven thirty four to win
games this year?

Speaker 3 (50:51):
Thirty seven?

Speaker 4 (50:51):
Well?

Speaker 3 (50:52):
Low, okay, lettle low. I think they're going to have
to average forty two and a half.

Speaker 4 (51:00):
Okay and a half and a half and a half.

Speaker 3 (51:02):
Well, because because they're going not gonna be just the
Cincinnati Bengals, They're going to do the Cincinnati Hitchhiker's Guide to
the Galaxy. So there you go. Oh good, Yeah, So yeah,
they're gonna have to average Oh my god, it's going
to be so many points.

Speaker 1 (51:21):
It's gonna be so little thing about it. You got
those three guys, and they still want to bring Hendrickson back.
So you're gonna have Chase Brown is pretty good. Yeah yeah,
well no, he's he's fighting good. But I'm just talking
about on the other side of the ball. You're gonna
have to pay in him thirty five million. That's the
going rate for a top end guys.

Speaker 3 (51:36):
Well, I mean you're going to have over one hundred
and twenty million, one hundred close one hundred and forty
million dollars locked up in forty guys I don't know,
and four guys you know, but they're still a hundred.
The good thing is there's another one hundred and forty
million dollars to play with, so you can get some
fill ins on there. They just made it a little
bit prougher on it. You're not gonna get You're not

(51:58):
getting a lot of mid level guys with with that
kind of cap situation. Like the defense was atrocious. Hendrickson
was the only thing that they had. Maybe you know,
the defensive tackles pretty good. Yeah, Like that's it, right,
Like they just need an influx of talent and so

(52:21):
this year, like it's one of those drests where just
every pick should be defense, you know, every single guy.
Like if they have ten picks, ten guys on defense,
if they have seven picks, seven guys on defense, and
you know, tell the offensive coordinator, dude, make it work.
I don't want to hear anything like that's we gave you,
We gave you Higgins, we gave Jim Tomorrow, you got Burrow.

(52:44):
You're good. Don't don't bother me again. So I don't
know what else to tell you about this. But they've
got to find bodies. On defense, they'll be fine, do
you know that?

Speaker 1 (52:57):
Games?

Speaker 4 (52:58):
Reggie Williams, they'll be fine. On d things, he'll be great.
Don't worry about it.

Speaker 3 (53:02):
Reggie Williams nineteen eighty five. I almost lost his legs
classic So wow, you Reggie, I mean, you do Reggie
Williams like that. That's just so bad.

Speaker 4 (53:15):
I could have said David Fulcher, but I said Reggie Willie.
I could have said David.

Speaker 3 (53:18):
Full rock, baby, full Rock. That's right, bring back full rock.
I think so lot. I'm feeling about wow.

Speaker 1 (53:29):
All right, just took a bad turn.

Speaker 3 (53:31):
All right, All yeah, I took a day. That's a
really bad term. But hey, I love full rock man
full Rock. In college, he was god, he was so
righted out it was unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (53:41):
Allegedly, allegedly, allegedly, allegedly, allegedly allegedly was like a four
to four at.

Speaker 3 (53:49):
Two and thirty pounds against guys in the pack. Cat.
It was just a joke. Yeah, like a joke.

Speaker 1 (53:57):
He's on Twitter at Jason Coles sixty two. Now you're
gonna hang up with us and go down the rabbit
hole looking at best Bengals defensive players.

Speaker 3 (54:03):
Ever, I didn't bring up I did not bring up
full Rocks.

Speaker 4 (54:07):
All right, that's okay, that's okay, that's okay.

Speaker 3 (54:12):
Never mind, all right, all right.

Speaker 4 (54:14):
Don't forget.

Speaker 1 (54:14):
I look up Tim Crumbright too. Don't forget. We got
that as well. It is Ja Cole taking easybody. We'll
talk to you there.

Speaker 4 (54:21):
He goes.

Speaker 1 (54:22):
That went sideways fast.

Speaker 4 (54:23):
I did because he got really kind of despondent, and
I thought about it.

Speaker 1 (54:27):
He's like he was hitting something in his core memory.
I'm just naming great Bengals defensive players I remember from
my life. I'm just naming great players. That's what it is.
