Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Greetings, Welcome in side, Happy Thursday Jason Smith Show with
my bass friend Mike Harmon, my upset special. For over
forty years, tyrerack'smen open customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive. Ship fast and free, backed
by free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like

(00:31):
mobile tire installation tyrack dot com. He is the way
tire buying should be. Well, we got big trades in
the National Football League, we got teams making moves. We
have seismic NBA news, seismic seismic. I always thought I
could get seismic to rhyme with thisman. I would call

(00:53):
eminem and say, hey, here's a wrap for you. Here,
here's seismic and thigsman. But if you swallow the ending,
it works all right, Yeah it does. You can make
any almost with the proper beat that kind of comes
over that second syllable, you can you can make that happen. Yeah, uh,
but we are And I keep my fingers scrawed you know,
I always like to say I say this out loud
and and we make it happen. You know, the last

(01:13):
couple of nights you said, hey, look, you know it's
a it's a good night in the NBA. When there's
ten games. If we get one of them, that's close, right,
Because this is the air of the NBA we're in
right now, right, we don't get close games. This doesn't happen. Hey,
we got some close games about that? Yeah, Hey, we
got the Warriors and the Rockets at one on one
a piece with one tenth of a second left in
the fourth quarter, Piston Spurs, third quarter, eight point game,

(01:36):
still a good game. So okay, we're all right with
that magic beat the Mavericks one fifteen, one fourteen, or
we got some close guys. I say it, I make it,
make it happen, Mike car and maybe put it out
there in the universe. This is why when Frostburg says
stuff like good at Jitsu, Goodden, Derek Carr like, I'm
worried that's actually going on?

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Me?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Are that we're getting getting too We're getting to a
and Derek Carr Hackenberg. But that's the problem. The level
of success means that some of the inane things that
we shout out just to get under your skin or
you guys do to get under mind, some of those
are gonna come true. Just the track record has just
been so good. Now, there was a foul call that

(02:15):
was being reviewed in the final seconds of that Rockets
Warriors game where Kevin Durant challenged and got ball, but
as he did the follow through, you got some some
contact and instead, well, now we get our end game
where we've got point three left and an inbounds play
to try to win it. But yeah, chaos, we got

(02:37):
close games. Man. The over under we hope for on
a full slate is one and a half Outam the dude,
you go right to the betting so fast. I know
something is up with you. That's the bet that you're gambling.
I know you're gambling. I know you're like an out
of control gambling now you must be because you go
it's no longer like, hey, you know, I want to
be up on this because gambling is a bigger deal now,

(02:58):
and we talked about you go straight to it, man,
like it's your first thing. It's like me, what used
to wake up in the morning going what do I
want something chocolate? It's eight thirty. Yeah, yeah, I gotta
have something chocolate right now. I gotta wake up. That
hasn't changed. You go, you go right, you go right
to the gambling now, I mean the chocolate is going away.
It's not even closed. No, no, I wait, I wait
till chocolate.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
No.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yeah, you did usually the right side of ten. Yeah, yeah, right,
so cause you're normally not getting up till about ten,
so that you mean straight out of bed. But let's
not let let's not conflate this, and you go. You
go right to the gambling so fast. Now it's almost
like I feel like any conversation that you might have
off the air goes right to gambling. How you doing tonight? Well,

(03:40):
you know, you know, it was it was, it was,
you know, it was Uh it was eight to one.
The sun was going to be out by ten o'clock
this morning, and now you know we had it. We
had the sun at seven thirty. So, uh, I'm feeling
pretty happy. You know, tomorrow next couple of days is
going to be kind of a gloomy day, so I
wouldn't go sun tomorrow. But you know, sun today was
a right call.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Do you have the odds on Jason leaving us for
Wendy's in the next week.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Oh that's that's even money right now. Okay, Wendy's might
actually be a slight favorite. You know, let's talk about
this for a second. Okay, before we get this a
big deal. This is the big story developing after a
week of chaos in the fast casual kind of dining experience.
I always say, there's very little jobs that would be

(04:20):
open to me that I would leave doing this for right,
very little. Like if you said to me, you could
be the play by play voice of the match. You
have to travel to the pesky away games. Okay, I
do all the home games. Yeah, I would do it.
If I could just make me my you know, my
my big what I do every off season where I
invite NFL coaches and we go over time management two
minutes of games coaches that need that, and make a

(04:41):
lot of money at that. But it's kind of a
side hustle. But if I could turn into a full
time gig, absolutely hundred percent certain gigs and now I
found one that maybe now here. This is the best
part is I could still do this because it's an
at home thing and I already put out on social
media for it. I'm just waiting for the paperwork. Wendy's
is looking for someone. They want to pay one hundred

(05:03):
thousand dollars a year or two. Yeah, one one hundred grand, yes, yes,
they want someone to become their chief tasting officer. Okay,
they're offering one hundred grand. Is the way to apply
and everything else. It's a remote position. Don't have to move,
Just have to wherever you are. Just let them know
where you live. We'll miss you and you will be well.
I can still do it. I can still both get yeah,

(05:23):
yea yea yah, yeah yeah. They would love it. You
kidding because I would say I talk about it on
the air full time. Can I do that? I don't
know if I can. Uh. But for one hundred grand,
you will get a contract with Wendy's and you will
be hired to create promotional content for Wendy's, such as
taste testing videos. So basically, they're gonna pay you to

(05:46):
taste test food and talk about it. I'd have to
pay for it. I might have to fight you for
this job. Did come on, man? Because I get to
promote the frost. Now you'd have to promote the frost
You remember that, I up and say, hey, you know what,
No Frosty, here's my thing. No, Frosty's are terrible. Take
component of the Wendy's menu. Dude, you want it is

(06:07):
perhaps as iconic as anything God not iconic except for
Dave Thomas himself. It's frozen. It's frozen ice cream that
they put in a cup that's impossible to eat. You
have to get a drink in addition to getting a
frost that's it. It's a it's a dessert treat. It
is not a i'd say you want to pass McDonald's.
Get rid of the frosty. Torped your applicational radio. They're

(06:31):
looking the iHeartRadio app. They want something. You heard the
phrase telling truth to power. They want someone that's going
to tell them that. Say listen, whatever Thomas person is
here in this room, get rid of the frosty. But
I'm gonna tells one hundred grand a year to be
a taste tester for Wendy's. I don't even go to
Wendy's that much. I would what if you have to
taste test Frosty's. Oh I could still do it. No,

(06:52):
I mean, I just just marriage there. My honest opinion,
I would say, yeah, not a fan, but you want
me to taste, I taste it. They're not gonna want
anybody to tell them what they don't want to already.
Just tell them, hey, your food is great. Obviously you're
looking for something outside the box. I'll tell you the
truth about your food. Man. Again, I'm not gonna steer
you wrong. But they've just had a giant promotion about
their new fusion Frosty. It's a fusion menu. Yeah, really

(07:17):
a fusion well, I mean basically it's taking Uh it's
some version of a blizzard or whatever else. Uh insert
what whatever fast food chain, fast casual uh that you
have and you know, say with girl Scout cookies are
part of what they do. Remember when I brought those
in that the taste Hastye that night, the brownie chunks,

(07:39):
Fusion Chief tasting Officer, Like, I would want to wear
like some kind of cool jacket, like I'm actually in
some sort of you'd have to look at you, like
captain's jacket, smoking jack with bars on it and stuff
like I look like, well, this guy looks legit, something
a little fancy. This guy looks or something. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,

(07:59):
that is something that Yeah they miss hassles coming off
the shoulders or something. Yeah. I mean this this has
made for me. I mean this is I mean, I
don't even need to accept you hate there they want
you to put doesn't matter. I'll make you do something better.
That's what it is. Man. Look, Wendy's this is like
an NFL team saying we just want a head coach
or a GM to come in and do exactly what

(08:19):
we're doing because we think we're doing it right. That's
not how you do it. You want somebody to come
in telling you. I'll tell you what you do right.
I'll tell you what you do wrong, right or wrong.
I will always tell you the truth. The truth is
always the best thing. No matter what you say in life,
the truth is always the best thing. You always know
where you stand. You always know what people think about you,
the you always know what you think about them. The
truth is always the best. I will tell you what
I like, I will tell you what I don't like it.

(08:40):
The first thing I will tell you is get rid
of the frosty and improve the fries. And I love
the square burgers. Burgers are good. Improve the fries. You
gotta improve the fries. Fries are such a huge deal
and they're not that great. Improve the fries. There, he
has your two first things. I will tell you right this.
Q two of twenty twenty five, Frosty sales rose by
thirty percent year over year. They sell over three hundred

(09:00):
million Frosty dessert treats every year. You know why because
because the the that's one of human No, because the
coffee machine is never working at McDonald's. That's the only reason.
Why can I get a moke up? Our machine's not
working right now? I just want to Okay, never mind
just big macmeal, diet coke, al right, that anything else
that you'd be using the app today? No, No, I'm
not using the app. Okay, just pull around in front.

Speaker 5 (09:23):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
That's the only reason why people buy Frosty's is because
the McDonald's shake machine, and the and the and the
and the frappuccino machine is never working. The only reason.
So why don't you go work for them and get
and fix those issues because they don't have a job opening, Well,
why don't you go and try to create a job.
Why are you trying to get rid of me? I'm
telling you why I.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Want this job.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
You can go work for MacDonald now all of a sudden,
you want McDonald, I'd work for McDowell's. Hey, the Golden
Arcs was a great idea, man, And putting the toppies
on the toppings on the bottom, that was genius mine. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
I'm gonna side with Jason here, which I never do
because if there's anybody that can do this job of
bad food tas taste testing, it's it's the King right there.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Yeah, I mean, come on, man, this is like now
he's walking around with the crowd. That's the other place
that hasn't been mentioned. They're gonna make one just for him.
I do the lebron like I put my hands yeah
King every time they would clap when I'm walking in
out Yeah yeah, King, King right here, King right here,
Yeah Yeah. This is the greatest mashup. That's that's me
fast food place. This is past casual dining experiences in

(10:23):
the history of man. I want you want to get
an animal fry in while.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
We're so, there's never been in the history of qualification,
nobody's ever been more qualified for this job.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
There.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
I would. I would be the Sean McVay of food
tasting officers where I would walk in and all of
a sudden, whoa. We didn't realize how bad it was
under Jeff Fisher. Look at us now we've won a
super Bowl where a yearly threat I would be the
Sean McVay of this job. By the way, RAM still
always a ring that still needs to happen. Here's your application.
It's just a picture of you with two thumbs pointing

(10:54):
at yourself. What has two thumbs are gonna increase your
sales as long as you feed them. This guy right here.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
I mean some people have a calling to be a doctor. No,
this is your calling.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
You've got a lifetime of education in this department. I
wouldn't want to be a doctor simply because I wouldn't
have to worry about fighting through all the red tape
to get paid, all the different all the different different
companies and all of that. Oh this, no, oh my god, No,
I mean being a doctor? Pay then like I want that? No, No,
I couldn't do that. They're already said they're paying me.
I don't have to put that out there paying me
one hundred grand. Now would I say, hey, if you

(11:25):
choose me and you want to pay me say seventy
five grand, I'd be okay with that. But if they
said yes, I would realize, Wow, Wendy's need to save
twenty five grand. Wendy's well, No, I need the four
hundred grand because I need to uh to uh do
a little sublet opportunity, because I'm gonna need someone to
help me make some kick ass videos. Yeah this is

(11:46):
I've got a couple of guys that I know that
can help me out in that regard. No, I think
they can slough them off a couple of I think
they just wanted them to create a second job. No,
I don't think they need like the big bells and whistles.
It's all you need. I seen these videos this week.
All you need is a CEO of a company looking
like he's taking a really big bite out of something
and not just a tiny ass nibble. Oh so good, dude,

(12:09):
Come on, man, take a bite. Now we have an
undisputed winner. And it's not because of what he ate.
It's how he described the product that was the taco
bell guy. When he talked about the meat gun and
the price point, the meat that went into the taco
at the price. I like how he said now it
is a meat gun, but it's high quality out of

(12:30):
it for the price point. The price point, like we
have really high quality meat gun meat like that's that's
like me saying, hey, the meat out of that uh
a vending machine is really good. It's fred you want
you want to have that meat out of the vendor.
The meat gun a meat meat gun, me take me gun.

(12:51):
How has no band done a song called meat gun?
I don't know. How has a heavy metal band not
done a sabbath do one of those meat gun one
of those guys terrified looking dudes with the uh Ronald
McDonald on lead voke. I mean, meat gun is like
made for a song, right, that's like made for a
song that like the kiss not licensed. I don't know.

(13:12):
Well they well they had love Gun, and they probably
should have come back to meet gun, you know, years later.
It would have been seems like they would have. I
mean they licensed everything else for a while. You can
get the casket. I mean probably got one meat gun.
All right. Yeah, I'm now writing this song. Hey, yeah,
I write that song for you. Write me a song

(13:34):
called meat gun. Yeah, meets and Roses, She's got it, okay,
so uh, Jason Smith Mike Harmon live from the Fox
Sports Radio Meat Gun Studios, meat Gun, meat Gun. It
also could be all moviegal movie and that it could
it could be both. It could cracked elbows and meat guns.

Speaker 5 (15:27):
All right?

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Hat little Alan Jackson for you Fox Sports Radio, The
Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon. You
know what you are? Jason? What's that? What am I
tell you? That gets a PS five and cries he
didn't get a computer. That's what you are?

Speaker 5 (15:44):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (15:44):
What do you mean talking about? This song is great
about meat, potatoes and everything, and you're like, where's love gun?
Where's love gun? Okay? You know who you are? Who
are you? Who you are? You are? You are the
dad that here's his kid? Say, hey, dad, you know
what I'd love for Christmas is a PS five. I'd
love that for PS five and he tells you that,
and you understand, Boy, that's what you want. That would
make him happy. Why wouldn't I do that? I should

(16:04):
do that for my kid. And Christmas Day comes and go,
oh yeah, I got your cassette of a band from
the eighties and nineties. I got your rock set greatest hits.
But I wanted to PlayStations like yeah, but you were
expecting that. I'm just gonna give you something a little
bit different. So here's a cassette can't play anything. And
I don't know if you even know rock sett Marie
Frederickson lead singer, she had great voice, all this stuff.
Oh yeah, yeah, No, no, No, that's you're getting instead, that's

(16:26):
who you are, not at all. I'm giving an applications.
Say work for the crap you want, Jason, Yeah, for free.
Dam is not even real. Wake up kid.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Whoa whoa, whoa, whoa whoa?

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Crossed the line? There, you jumped the line. This is
where the referee turns around and goes, no, that's it.
You're gone. You get the double whistle and boom out
a double whistle, whoa, whoa, whoa, And you can't take
it back either, cat, say just kidding? No, you can't

(17:01):
back to do that, man, No, you no kidding, dude,
you are do me a favorite. What how old are
you now? Twenty six, twenty four, twenty four? Don't have
kids for a while. Oh I don't have kids for okay?
Good good good. No off on a shelf, no lying
to my kids. No Elf on the shell. Well, the
Elf on the shelf is a menace that all households
should have, period. See but I think Tysit's also the

(17:22):
kind of guy that would tell you Elf on a
shelf moves for real? Oh why wouldn't you? That's actually
a great horror movie. Like Elf on a Shell sure, like,
but it's bloody and like the s and the s
are like made to look like a knife, like Elf
on the shelf moves. And then like you know, one
one morning, you know, a kid wakes up. You know,
they show like a montage to start a movie. You
hear like some kind of happy Christmas song, and like

(17:44):
you see, the the kid goes to bed. Every night,
the elf moves, and then slowly the elf gets a
little more menacing, a little more menacing, and then one
one night the kid goes to bed, wakes up, and
then the elf is standing over with a big knife
and here ah then smash cut to titles Elf on
a shelf, Well, sh have to have these favorite stuffed
animal lose its head. What about mensh on a bench?

(18:05):
That's the sex. Well they battle for supremacy. And what's
the snoop one on a throne? That's that's that's that's
smoke on a shelf. Smoke up, Johnny hay Man. The
elf hasn't moved in like months. Man, That elf is
just kind of sitting there, happy man, eating Doritos the

(18:25):
whole time, just getting heavy. Boy, that helf is fat
now looking at that hell just sitting around. Man just
keeps eating food every day. The bad changes. Man, it's
hot Cheetos the other day. Then it was a Takey's,
and man, it's Snoop on the stoop man all right,
all right, and he comes with a little throne that's
now being co opted as something. We're making a horror

(18:47):
movie out of it. So I'm making a horror of
Elf on the shelf. Snoop was in a horror movie,
wasn't he?

Speaker 5 (18:52):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Maybe maybe he was. Seems like he's been and everything.
I mean, why not? I mean probably she was in
the of Horror back in two thousand and six. Yeah,
I didn't see that. How about Bones, the TV show
with David Borrianas. Oh okay, Bones, Oh yeah yeah, there's
he's like a vampire something something. Yeh yeah, okay, all right, yeah,

(19:14):
all right, I would rather watch the show Emily des Chanelle. Sure, sure,
it was on like eleven years run. Uh. So, big
news out of the NBA. Jason Tatum is coming back.
Not only is he coming back, he's coming back likely
on Friday Night at TD Garden when the Celtics welcome

(19:35):
the always difficult Dallas Mavericks.

Speaker 5 (19:37):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
This is like the equivalent of firing a manager, Like
before you have a series against the worst team in
Major League Baseball. Hey, the Pirates are coming to town.
We're gonna make that move. Yeah, fire the manager. We
got the Pirates coming in and we're missing schemes, so
don't have to worry about it. We're all good. Oh
but it's pretty good to come back, right because Cooper
Flag's back. So you get a couple of Marquee guys
getting after that. We lost by a point. What's their
record with Cooper Flag this year?

Speaker 5 (19:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (19:57):
Good? Okay, So Tatum's coming back. This is this is
a seismic move in the NBA because I will tell
you this, there are five teams that can win the
NBA title. Now there are five teams that can win.
You've reduced it to five. There are five teams that
can win. The Pistons, the Knicks, now, the Celtics, the Spurs,

(20:20):
and the Thunder. Those five teams are the only teams
that can win the NBA title. Boston was never gonna
make it through a playoff without Jason Tatum, but now
they have him back, and now Boston is a legit
title contender.

Speaker 5 (20:33):
They would know.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Would be too difficult. Now, whether they could beat the
teams of the West, I don't know. But if they
could beat in the it's a marathon for them to
get through, they would. They would run up against a
Pistons team that is rolling four guys off the bench
that are playing just as well as their starters. They
they wouldn't be deep enough. But now Jason Tatum is back,
I'll put them in. Five teams can win and while

(20:56):
the steward might take one of those guys out, So yeah,
that's wildcard to it all. And look for teams like,
what about the Nuggets and the Rockets. Yeah, I could
potentially see one of those teams beating the Spurs or
the Thunder, but you're not getting by both of them.
And those are your one two teams in the West.
So the Nuggets without Aaron, so you'd have to get
by both of them, and you're not doing it right.

(21:16):
That's two rounds of playoffs. That's the only reason why
these why you don't think those teams are good. No,
it's because about getting there. Nobody is getting through both
of those teams. Five teams can win the NBA title now,
and it was four up until today. But Tatum coming back,
and this is such great news for them because mentally
this works for everybody the rest of the year. Now,

(21:37):
we talked about how awkward it is now there's great
drama coming. But with Tatum coming back, we've mentioned this,
He's coming back to a different situation. Right, world is
different than it was thirty seconds ago. World was different
when he got hurt. It was his team. Jalen Brown
was the one a hey, we want a title. Yes,
I didn't win NBA MVP, but Jason Tatum's team. Now,
what's happened since he's been out. We don't need Jason Tatum.

(21:59):
Look at the success having second in the Eastern Conference.
Jalen Brown. I would have him number one on my
ballot for MVP, and his odds changed pretty much every day,
but I would have him number one. The Celtics have
been able to have a great regular season. They have
lost Jason Tatum, not replaced him, and all they've gotten
is more out of Jalen Brown. So now Tatum's coming

(22:20):
back to a team, and he has always been very
cognizant of his standing, of the respect he has. He's
somebody that here's what is said and written about him
all the time. But coming back in this situation where
coming back from the serious injury, he's gonna have his
minutes maintained, it's going to be, Hey, we're gonna work
you back in, And it's an ego thing that works,
because Hey, the only reason maybe you're not playing more

(22:41):
minutes now is because we want to make sure you're healthy.
And he's gonna be okay with that, and Jalen Brown
will be okay. It's still my team. Yeah, we gotta
work Jason back in because we're better with him. Clearly
we are but it's a mental thing and it's a
big ego thing for Jason Tatum to come back and
not be the guy. It's like, hey, you're coming back, man,
it had gone for a long time. Yeah. Uh just

(23:01):
you know, kind of rock and roll fit in somewhere.
We'll get to you. So for the short term, it's great,
if short term for the Celtics, they can figure it
out the rest of this year because ego wise, hey,
Tatum's like, I'm just coming back. I gotta play twenty games.
I'll be ready for the playoffs and then then let's
go right then the playoffs here then it doesn't matter.
The real drama is in the offseason when Tatum's got

(23:23):
to decide, Okay, is this where want to play the
rest of my career? Where now I'm no longer the
one and I'm the one a maybe the two because
of what the Celtics have shown in my absence not
really needing me and I'm a boost. Do I want
to spend the rest of my career being that guy.

(23:44):
No superstar wants to play on a team where he
goes from I'm the one to now I'm the two.
It's very special. A guy like Dwayne Wade. That was
okay welcoming Lebron in and Lebron commence that, thank you,
I'm taking over the heat. Dwayne Wade had a great
and that's why it worked because Dwayne Wade okay with that.
He was okay with stepping to the side and letting
it become Lebron's team, just like Steph Curry was okay

(24:06):
kind of stepping aside when Kevin Durant came in. There's
very few athletes that have that kind of ego that
are that comfortable where I can do this. It's better
for the team. And still I know what my image
is going to be and what the optics are. Jason
Tatum's not that kind of guy. So the drama is
gonna be in the off season when he decides, yeah,
this has been a great run, but I want to

(24:28):
be the one somewhere. I'm not gonna sit here and
and and be the one A and have it be
built around Jalen Brown. No, I'm not that guy. That's
where the real drama comes from. For now, it's great.
For now, it's awesome. And this, like I said, so
five teams can win the title. Celtics are one of them.
But in the off season, Oh, that's when the drama
gets See you're trying to sow the seeds of malcontendedness again. Yeah,

(24:49):
you guys making a total level. How much is it
like six hundred and fifty million between them? I think
that's the bigger question for the Celtics roster wise, is
what do you put around him in the in future
season is when Pritchard and these other guys, uh need
to get their deals reworked. But short term it's it works.
I I don't know how Jason Tatum, if he's that

(25:12):
guy that just is a get along, or whether he'd
go the Yannis route and start planting that stuff through
the media and then be like, I can't be the
bad guy. Like that's that's the question at all. Yeah,
Jalen Brown certainly has shown he'll say whatever to whomever.
So if he's got to be the bad guy in
the situation because it's untenable, then I would see that

(25:34):
coming up and and potentially being a sticking point. But
they've shown they can coexist. They won together. I don't
know if if you're winning, it cures most of the
IELs because nobody's calling it Jalen Brown's team, not Jason
Tatum's not back yet. But I mean, but now that
Tatum's back to call often. But that's me. They're not

(25:58):
going to go in for any controversy and they're just
gonna come back and love their players. Oh, this is awesome.
Jason tenn is back. Now, Hey, we don't need that
guy anymore, bo Quimby. I mean really, I mean it's good.
It's a thing. Jason Tatum has always been a player
that yeah, I'm great, right right, it's my team right right,
And now it's not and it's really awkward. And once

(26:20):
he comes back again, this season's a dream because you
can do it for a short period of time. When
someone gets hurt, comes back, loses their job, loses their status.
I'm working my way back whatever is good for the team.
I gotta get back and make sure i'm that player.
But then you get long term, Do I really want
to be here? What tell me a star that Hey
I'm here, I'm great, I'm great, I'm great. Yeah. Now,
because you're out, we got somebody else now and it's

(26:40):
the other guy who's gonna be the number one. Oh okay,
because with Wade and Steph. It was bringing somebody in.
This is you watch the guy who was you were
standing next to is your one A then you go away,
come back, and now he has surpassed you. It's like,
how did this happen? The go to guy in your
staffs and finals to win a finals ZM. So it's

(27:01):
not like this is a new invention. You've watched him
ride up and win as many games were more than
you did while you were there. Again, not gonna like it,
doesn't have to like it. Everybody deals with their work
circumstances as they need to just wait, just wait till
the offseason. When we're talking about Giannis. Oh, maybe you
can't get Yannis. Jason Tatum might be the guy. I mean,

(27:23):
if the report is true that Doc Rivers is stepping aside,
maybe he doesn't have to leave. I don't know. I
think maybe Giannis is still the Milwaukee and when he
got introduced to Tacos. I think Doc Rivers is gonna
if he retires at the end of this year, then
Austin Rivers will take over and he's definitely leaving. Yeah,
that would be tough. I'm just gonna step aside and
my son's gonna take over might be one of the

(27:44):
most controversial handing off of a job we've ever seen.
It's not gonna be like me, but it won't be
my faultymore. It's not gonna be my fault. No, I mean,
it's good theater for us, no question, It'll always be
his fault. You get you get to the off season,
and you wait, you tell me how happy Jason Adam
is gonna be when it's like, hey, oh yeah, hey
at Bruce and pr what's going on this week? Yeah?

(28:05):
I don't have anything on here for you. Uh, I'm yeah,
uh hey, can we meet on Wednesday and talk about opportunities? Well, listen,
I'm at that big Taco Bell photo shoot with Jalen
on Wednesday, and then I got a meeting with Jalen
on Thursday. We have some new sponsors coming in front.
You know what, Let's get together next week. Yeah, Jason
Tatum's gonna love that. Well. This also presumes, and I
and I hope that your best or worst case scenario,

(28:26):
depending on whether you want the drama, uh in the
heat and chaos, or are for things to go smoothly,
is that Jason Tatum is able to come in and
ball out at the highest level, because if he's not,
then there's not a whole lot of room for him
to complain. That's why great, it's gonna be great this,
He's gonna be fine that. So, I mean, the Celtics
now can win the title. They are now a team
that can win the title. But just wait, I already

(28:48):
thought they could could fight the other teams in the
West because they're beating the Knicks. They already know that. Yeah,
they're not getting they're not a great matchup for the Knick.
They're they're not a matchup for the Knicks. Look, it's
we'll get to the matchups. Because we saw tonight what
could be an NBA Finals matchup. Really show you that
if this is the NBA Finals matchup, it's going to
be a sweep. But it's all about matchups. I don't

(29:10):
like the Knicks with the Pistons. I love the Knicks
and the Celtics. The Celtics and the Pistons, I like it.
So it's all about who who winds up surviving those
first couple of rounds and who gets there. It's all
about the matchups. Time now to find out what's trending
in the wide world of sports with someone who's been
called the Detroit Pistons of Fox Sports Radio, because tonight
they're both wearing things on their shirts that have an

(29:32):
L on them. It's Martin Weiss.

Speaker 6 (29:34):
There's an L one here somewhere, I'm sure, but I
hope I'm not the Pistons because they got smacked tonight.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
Well that's why you got an L. The Pistons got.

Speaker 6 (29:41):
An L one twenty one to one oh six as
the San Antonio Spurs dispatch of the Detroit Pistons. Kate
cunning In with twenty six points, twenty six shots. That's
a lot of those in the fourth quarter of the
Pistons try to make this thing kind of respectable. It
was twenty point game for most of the Victor women. Yea,
I'm gonna put on a show. Thirty eight points on
twelve to twenty four from the floor. He was ten

(30:03):
to eleven with the free throw line, but sixteen rebounds
and five blocks, so plus twenty on the night. And
just saw Detroit just running away from the rim as
Victormi Minyama was underneath it all night. And that's what
in the NBA this year, we got this the Chicago
Bulls and the Phoenix Suns, Chicago leading seventy two to

(30:24):
sixty five, Collin Sexton with twenty points, the Lakers and
the Nuggets thirty to twenty, Denver in the lead about
ninety seconds left in the first quarter.

Speaker 5 (30:32):
There Nicole Jochicic and Luca Dodgers woke with.

Speaker 6 (30:35):
Six first quarter points, but the Nuggets with a ten
point lead.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
How many arguments between Reddick and Lucas so far? Have
you been keeping track of that?

Speaker 5 (30:43):
I have it, but I did just put it.

Speaker 6 (30:44):
I was watching the end of the Spurs want to
see if Kate could do something.

Speaker 5 (30:47):
But I am tracking it now.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Okay, all right, make sure even just way the way away,
he said, if Kate could do something since they were
down twenty, was there a bet on and over under
in one of his statistical category?

Speaker 5 (30:59):
There was not. I am in that MVP conversation, you know.

Speaker 6 (31:04):
I let guys who play, so all right, I'm in
the Jalen Brown, Kde Cunningham.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
Who's gonna win it? Sorry?

Speaker 2 (31:10):
So I got to get to sixty five right exactly,
first one to sixty five wins.

Speaker 5 (31:14):
And to the first quarter of the Kings lead.

Speaker 6 (31:16):
The Pelicans thirty to twenty six in the game, both
teams trying to lose. In the NHL, the Predators and
the Bruins. Nashville leads five to two by six minutes
left in the third quarter, Jets four to one over
the lightning, wrapping up the third period. There started the
third period Senators and Flames one apiece. Kings lead the
Islanders one to nothing at the start of the second period.

(31:38):
In the NFL, the Colts trying to trade how You're
Franklin to a salary cap move. Reported by Adam Schefter,
The Bills did trade DJ Moore to the Chicago Bears,
along with a fifth round pick in exchange for a
second Cam Jordan's gonna hit free agency for the first
time in his fifteen year career. At this he and
the Saints unable to come up with a contract extension.
The Pittsburgh Steelers released veteran Titan John new Smith, Seahawks

(32:02):
and Drake Thomas agree to a two year, eight million
dollar deal, and Jason Tatum questionable for Friday's game in
Dallas or against Dallas.

Speaker 5 (32:11):
I should say back to you guys, thank.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
I know you love meat meat, It's not meat gun,
meat gun, It's love gun.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
Gotta listen to the whole show. Fox Sports Radio, The
Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon. Well,
we had an NBA Finals preview tonight, and I think
if we get this NBA Finals, it's gonna be a sweep.
Why would you say that? Because the NBA doesn't need

(33:33):
more of that.

Speaker 4 (33:35):
So you think it's gonna be Lakers next. The Lakers.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
Yeah, ring. This game brings us the play of the day,
brought to you by tire Reck. Right now, the Lakers
trail the Nuggets by nine in the second quarter. For
over forty years, Tireck's been open customers find the right
tires for how, what and where they drive. Ship fast
and free, backed by free road hazard protection with convenient
installation options like mobile tyrans still tirerack dot com. He

(34:01):
is the way tire buying should be well when you
go for thirty eight points and sixteen boards and three
assists and and what seven blocks? Eight eight blocks? The
performance of rickt Wembinyama gets him the play of the day.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
Cunningham say.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Burn one, David, look came the Billion Flies Spurs TV
on the call the block the jam again thirty eight
sixteen five blocks wi' here five blocks tonight. Uh. The
Spurs beat the Pistons one one, one oh six. This

(34:44):
is the second time in the past two and a
half weeks the Spurs have played the Pistons and the
Pistons make most teams in the East look bad. Most
teams in the NBA look bad. Our depth, our youth.
Kay Cunningham's the MVP. They can't sniff the San Antonio
Spurs this year, more than any in the NBA. The
playoffs are gonna be about matchups and and you can

(35:06):
I can already see how things are going to go
when you get to the conference finals, right if you're
going off, I talked about five teams that can win
the NBA title this year. If you go to certain matchups,
I know how it's gonna go. If the Knicks have
to play the Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals, the
Pistons are gonna win. If the Knicks have to play
the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Knicks are
gonna win. If the Pistons have to play the Celtics

(35:27):
in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Pistons are gonna win.
If the Pistons somehow get out of the East and
play the Spurs, guess what. Spurs are gonna win that
one easy in a sweep. Pistons can't come close to
San Antonio. It's all gonna be. NBA playoffs generally is
about matchups, but that's usually early rounds. Why do we
see some seven seeds giving two seeds trouble over the
course of the time is because hey, the matchup doesn't

(35:49):
work out, or some series get more once you get
down to the But now, once you get down to
the end, it's okay. The best teams wind up winning.
But this is a matchup year more than any other
in the NBA. And if we get Piston Spurs, man
forget the Spur. They're banging the drum after the game.
It's like, man, everybody loves this Detroit Pistons team and
everything is great. Kate Cunningham again second time in a row.

(36:09):
The Spurs defensively and Steph Castle had him in a blender.
He was ten for twenty six on the floor. I
think the last two games Kate Cunningham is like seventeen
for fifty from the floor, Like it's not gonna it's
not gonna happen for him against the Spur. It's a
bad matchup for him. Meanwhile, Wemby is like, you're gonna
win you dfs every single day with if he plays

(36:30):
the Pistons. Frostburgy got his.

Speaker 4 (36:31):
Stats thirty a game sixteen and a half rebounds a game,
four assists, and almost six blocks a game.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
I mean that it's if this is the NBA Finals,
a four game they made, maybe they'd only play three
because they go, hey, Pistons want you want to take it?
If you go out here, you're gonna be uh, they're
gonna be three in a Well, the assumption that either
of them makes it, I like that, unless I don't.
I just want to battle it out for the Pistons,
they've been a fun story. I think the Eastern Conference,

(36:58):
you're you're talking about a little more potential for chaos
as good as they've been, and we've certainly talked about
them a lot on the show, no question about it.
Kate Cunningham one of the few remaining. Hey, that guy's
going to be in the MVP consideration. Why because the
other guys are gonna miss an extra game or two
and slough off. And that's the way it goes. Right now,
the prohibited favorite with a little bit of cushion is

(37:21):
SGA's up to minus three point twenty. I believe in
the latest offerings. But for the matchups, the presumption that
the Knicks are just gonna walk through the Celtics. I
mean they're one and one on the year. I mean,
come on, you're gonna still battle it out and Tatum's bad.
I watched them beat them last year. I watch them
beat them last years. Okay, last year. I'm okay. I'm
okay with that. I'm okay with that. I'm all right

(37:42):
with that. All right, you're still playing no defense, although
you might be more well rested because Tims isn't there.
But we'll watch that play out and maybe it goes
the same way. I'm not quite so sure that that's
the case in some of the other matchups and teams
that are still in the while, I don't love Denver

(38:03):
over overall, and you know, you're still missing some component
parts that Jokic guy finds a way to make things happen.
So you know, they're no easy walk in the park
over the course of the series. But it is fun
to see new Blood engaged and represented, and certainly the
Spurs one of the great stories we talked about him
coming into the year. You know, with Wemby, if he's

(38:25):
healthy and he's able to go, and clearly he's been
everything as advertised and then some, and you're looking at
the depth of what they bring in some nights where
he's only got to play twenty five minutes and score
ten points. That's the depth they've been able to bring.
So that'll be fun on the Western Conference side of things.
But you know, night to night they'll get challenged, They'll

(38:46):
they'll find some others that come up and at least,
you know, try to step up and weight class. Yeah,
but you bring up a great point about the Spurs
is that we have seen them continue to go on
this big win streak and win games. And it's not
like every night when as video game numbers. It's some
nights like tonight, but some nights it's yeah, he was
sixteen eleven and they still won by fifteen. But you

(39:06):
know what's great about it, and this was a challenging
team of Detroit, is since we've cast off so much
of the NBA, a lot of the winning streaks, we go,
all right, we can't wait to see you in the playoffs.
That's the unfortunate part of where we're at in the
regular season. As much as we want to say, hey,
these five teams are title contenders. Okay, eventually they have

(39:26):
to play each other in series. The good teams, because
in the interim you can run off fourteen wins against
crap teams that aren't trying to play for anything. Particularly,
I man, how many guys are now on the end
of year list for the Kings, Hey season enging surgery
for that guy, and over in Utah that guy. I mean,
they're going to resemble the teams they started the year with.

(39:47):
They're all done because that's the easiest way to tank.
That's why I say, NBA, how great would be just
going to the playoffs right now instead of these meaningless,
mostly meaningless last twenty some odd games. Once in a while,
you get a game like tonight, we go, oh, that's
a big spotlight into the future. Here we get this
in the NBA finals. Good luck, Man, good luck good
luck Detroit. That's it. They they still have to get

(40:08):
through another twenty games before we can get there. Plus playoffs.
Come on Exit out about a Fresca exit swollen Dome.
The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Carmon.
Coming up next, Lebron James has made NBA history again.
Plus we get into the big NFL trade of the day.
Desperation is a stinky cologne. Jason and Mike Fox when

(40:29):
he would have the play by play analyst work for
a WWE World Wrestling Federation, whichever it was heavyweight championship,
when the incumbent would lose and he would say during
the count one two and he would say, monsoon we
got a new world champion. Three in the winner, we

(40:50):
now have a new champion. Fifteen thousand, eight hundred and
thirty eight.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
Lebron one with Dutch.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
James. Another record in the legendary career of the Lebron
James most field goals in NBA history. There was Iron
Eagle on Prime with the call now and counting fifteen thousand,
eight and thirty eight made field goals for Lebron. He's

(41:24):
only played fifty goes on right, it's thirty six years
after Kareem set the record. It's okay, now we got
finally we got somebody breaking it. Stant aggregator. But here's
the only does his score points? Man, I don't understand
why people love Lebron so much hanging around what but
he's not But he's not a scorer. That's what he

(41:45):
tried to sell you all those years ago, you know.
And and here's the thing about Lebron and this record
whenever he finishes whatever number it's going to wind up at.
Is You never want to say things are unbreakable, but
I fall into the category of it's unbreakable for a
long time, like it's gonna be a long time before
we get somebody else coming in breaking certain records.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
Well, if Wemby plays the Pistons every night, he could
do this like next that is true.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
Oh yeah, he would have it by the playoffs, would
he would have it ready to go? But legitimately, who's
playing that well, that long and with the money that's
now part of this, right? I mean, look, I mean
it could be Wemby. It could be Wemby. I don't
know that Luca. I don't know that Luca's gonna be
healthy long enough to do it. He's missed a lot
of games, right, But when Wemby's got to say it.
But Wemby's also only you know, Wemby's only only seventeen

(42:30):
years old. So I mean it's the guys at average
thirty a game from when they're younger. Wemby could do
it in theory, But to think of record like this,
just think about how now as time goes on, the
three is gonna be even a bigger part of the
game than it is now, which means gonna be less. Yeah,
but it's gonna be so what that means is that's
gonna be less for any score. They're gonna take a

(42:52):
decent amount of threes. And if you shoot well from three,
you're shooting forty percent. You know you're not You're not
somebody that, Hey, I'm eighteen for twenty six, they're all
two's right? Which was you know? That was Kareem? He
just had the numbers. Lebron has played this long, plus
he hit some threes, but now the next, the next
great scores like Steph Curry's not gonna do this. I mean, well, yeah,
you think of the points he scores. Yeah, but because

(43:13):
he takes so many threes and the percentage is going
to be lower, it's going to be hard for someone
to get to the made field goal, the made number
of made field goals that he has. Well, who would
you think outside of Lebron are your active leaders Jalen Brunson,
Karl Anthony Towns, Oh sorry, go ahead, Carl Anthony Town's
uh down down a win. I would say James Harden,

(43:35):
Durant Durant, Durant, and Harden. I would say the top
Harden is sixth okay, I would uh, I'd take Steph
is in that list. Steph is fifth at just about
nine thousand coming get into tonight's game. Okay, oh boy,
maybe more made field goals. No, no, I don't think

(43:56):
he's got enough. I mean I doubt but that that
that'd be lots of a lot of shots. If both
Steph and Clay would be there, yea, who else? No,
he's too you know, he's too young. It's gotta be
it's got you gotta go, you gotta go later, you
gotta go older. Web again. If Wenby played the Pistons
every night, you would you would say, Wemby nicely done. Yeah, well,

(44:18):
he's gonna play till he's seventy. Eventually you're gonna watch
it can come back, Oh come back at sixty years old. No,
I've been in the league this whole time. Oh really, yeah,
it's absolutely fine. Uh let me see where else am
I going to go?

Speaker 6 (44:27):
Here?

Speaker 2 (44:28):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (44:28):
Kawhi?

Speaker 2 (44:29):
No, No, no, he hasn't played. No, he's hurt all
the time.

Speaker 3 (44:32):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
Well, and that's the other thing when we talk about
Wemby and some of these other guys, and yeah, are
you are you playing that number of games? It's it's
it's tough. It's staying healthy is tough. Oh I got
one guess? Yeah, go ahead? Is it Russell Westbrook?

Speaker 5 (44:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (44:45):
Oh he's third? All right? All right, Wow, he's third,
he's third amongst active players. I'm sorry. Not missed field goals.
We're talking. We're talking about, you know, not missed field
A lot of triple Do you make sure that that's
not missed field goals? I think missed field goals. You're
gonna look at it field goals, Russell Westbrook?

Speaker 5 (45:01):
Really? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (45:02):
Was brickfield goals made made? Are you on this? Are
you on this the sports brick you know the sports
brick center? Now Basketball Reference? Nicely? Sure? Okay? Those field
goals that clanked off the rim? Oh if it was
hitting the rim, most shots hitting the rim, that's Westbrook? Yea, yeah,
so it goes Lebron Durant, yeah, Westbrook, DeRozan Oh, okay,

(45:27):
Kurry Harden, Yannis Vosevich. Wow? Really?

Speaker 5 (45:34):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (45:34):
Okay, he's got seventy five hundred. And then you go
down a ways to Anthony Davis Damian Lillard and then
it really starts to drop off to where it's Brook
Lopez at sixty eight hundred, Kyrie even Joki is at
sixty seven hundred with I mean, and you think about
how dominant he's been but shorter samples. So yeah, it's

(45:54):
a it's a lot of make made baskets to get
up into that upper echelon. So I mean, that's that's
a considerable drop off. I mean, that's gonna be. I mean,
you want to say impossible, but it's gonna be. I mean,
you talk about maybe another thirty six years before we
see he'll get this broken again. Yeah, yeah, that's that's
nice to think about that. Yeah, well I guess it's
gonna be at Wendy's. Yeah. Yeah, I'll be working for

(46:18):
Taste trying to tell them these frosties are no good.
Uh So, big trade in the NFL today. You woke
up and saw it, and you probably thought, wasn't he
didn't I read that he was going to be traded
a week ago. Well, no, it's happening. Adam Schefter reporting
the Bills have finally gotten their number one receiver, obtaining

(46:43):
Dj Moore from the Bears. Buffalo is sending a second
round pick to Chicago. They get Dj Moore and a
fifth round pick. Bills are also going to guarantee nearly
all of Moore's base salary in twenty twenty eight, so
they take So the Bears get out from under DJ
Moore's salary, and the Bills are gonna take it on.
But he's gonna be their number one receiver. He's twenty

(47:04):
eight years old. They get back a fifth round pick,
but it's a second round pick for Dj Moore for
the Bills. Aspect of this, this shows you how absolutely
two things, how absolutely desperate they are for a number
one receiver, and how there's nobody out there in free agency.
You're not gonna come out of this unless you want
to make a big, bold move because it is a

(47:25):
seller's market in free agency. Right, Alec Pierce is the
number one receiver out there in free agency, and Alec
Pierce is good. Took him four years to become pretty good.
But he's a guy that's got a great yards per
carry average, a yards per reception average. He catches at
least one pass for seventy yards every week, and you know,
three passes overall. But you are not getting a receiver

(47:46):
this offseason unless you trade for him. And this shows
you you had to give up a second round pick
for Dj Moore, who was someone the Bears are gonna say, yeah,
we're ready to move on from this guy because whether
it was the diminishing returns the last couple of years,
hasn't been a thousand yard receiver for a little while.
The Bears have ascending playmakers, they want to get the
ball more too, And then you had the cardinal sin

(48:07):
of him stopping running on that route that Caleb Williams
threw a pick on that cost him the playoff game
against the Rams and cost him a shot at the
Super Bowl. Like that was the last straw. DJ Moore
has been a player that has been very good, but
has been too inconsistent and no longer is at the
top of that food chain. You don't have to get

(48:27):
him the football. The Bear showed they could get along
with Adhim. He had some great games, but he also
had some very pedestrian and less than pedestrian games. So
while Chicago makes a move and they pretty much just grant, basically,
I love the deal for Chicago more because they're getting
a second round pick and They're out from under that
money because a couple other moves they've made. Now they
got like they say, fifty million dollars in cap money.

(48:48):
The last twenty four hours. The Bears have done great stuff. Man,
it's the era of good feeling for the Bears. But
this shows you how desperate the Bills are. They go
out and get a number one receiver and oh it's
DJ Moore. Okay, I guess I'm excited. I guess. I mean, look,
DJ Moore is he's a good player, but is he great?

(49:10):
Is he a terrific number one? There's a reason why
the Bears want to get rid of him, right, there's
a real I mean, you saw you saw, you saw
how the last two years have been diminishing returns. Andy
was jogging on a big route in the playoffs and
the Bill said, yep, sign us up for that. That's
how desperate the Bills are and how bad of a
free agency crap it is. Well, ninety plus receptions three

(49:31):
of four years prior to this year down to fifty
receptions and some of the most important and highlight worthy
plays of Bears recent memory occurred because of DJ Moore
this past year, but also some Why is he walking
off the field. Why didn't he finish that route? And
you have all those ascending players. Look, they've got a

(49:52):
lot of need lost in the love affair everybody had
with the Bears. This year. They took the ball away
a lot.

Speaker 3 (50:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Yeah, they still gave up twenty seven points a game. Defensively,
they had a lot of issues. And now Edmonds goes
to free agency, Dolman retired, and now you get rid
of DJ Moore's money, so nearly fifty million in terms
of cap space. Now there's still rumors of the big
move to go get Max Crosby. I'll wait and see it.
But you still have issues. You've got to shore up

(50:22):
on the offensive line. Remember Trapillo got hurt and he'd
been fantastic. He got hurt in that Green Bay game.
He will not be ready for the first half of
the season coming off of that injury. And like I said, defensively,
a lot of takeaways obscured the fact that teams were
able to march up and down the field on them
and still put up a lot of points. So the
work in progress. And by divesting yourself of Dj Moore,

(50:46):
while you expect bigger things for Luther Burton, and now
you put a bullseye on Roma doonsay you really need
to step up now. Zachias was good, and obviously Lovelin
became such a big threat down the stretch. You believe
you've got enough wide receivers to go go to battle
without Dj Moore and if you can get a second
round pick back for it, whether you use it or

(51:07):
flip it, you still have a lot of needs for
an ascending Bears team that had a fantastic twenty twenty five.
But it's just the start for the Bills. Josh Allen
gets a guy, and Alec Pierce is a guy. I
don't know if we've seen how good this guy can
be because think about the quarterbacks that have been running
out of the ball out there in Indianapolis. So while
he's not the household name and the yards per catch

(51:29):
thing is, can he be a complete receiver if you
give him an opportunity to be.

Speaker 5 (51:33):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (51:35):
Time will tell, but for the Bills to get a
guy like DJ Moore, like I said, three ninety plus
reception years in four before this year's drop off where
they distributed the ball really well, I think Josh Allen's
got himself a new best friend. Du Look, it's so
first of all, let me go back. Don't worry. I
told you the era of good feeling is here for

(51:57):
the base. Yeah, he got rid of a receiver that
they had no room for who they were done with
him when he didn't run a round and Caleb Williams
threw a pick that cost you a shot at the
super Bowl. He had many games this year where anybody
that has been fantasy will tell you two catches for
eighteen yards. I started that guy. He's gone from being
just in fantasy terms. He's gone from a guy like
three years ago. He's my number one, right of my

(52:19):
top two. As I started, he's a back end number one.
Then he went to, well, now he's one of my
two flex guys, and then he last year it was
well now he's in every other week or every couple
of week flex guy. Like you've seen his His production
just decreased. They don't need him anymore. I mean, look,
I mean, I mean, I don't know. That was part
of my long s. I don't know how great Luther
Burden is, but it doesn't matter because you have to

(52:42):
open things up to get these guys a football and
gotta get holds and love on the football more. All
this and he's replaceable because you take this forty five
million that you just saved the last couple of days,
and there'll be aggressive in free agency. They be able
to you know, this is where they don't need tons
of stuff. They need to just fill some holes. Right
if you're looking, No, no, no, not even don't hard

(53:05):
dramatics stitched that they had but doesn't Matt, doesn't mean
their wins generally, that's a coin flip. Most of those games,
are you kidding? But they won those games? Yes, but
that show us that's not how are you upsettable? You
need to go back and there's a lot of defensive
there's a lot of quarterback losing a bunch of your

(53:26):
secondary You watch your quarterback win games consistently in the
final two minutes, that's a skill. That's not something that well,
we lovet You watched him consistently the be the Bears
the final few minutes of the games this year. That
was when they ate. Yeah, but where you're watching as
a team is where defensively you're not giving up twenty
seven a game and eating last second heroics. How are you?

(53:48):
How are you put it? Okay, every year isn't perfect.
You're not gonna go seventeen and oh and win every
game forty nine. Nothing. I don't understand how you're so upset,
But just be happy that you're making it. Got a
little bit of cosmetic work to do. No, no, no, no,
there's a lot to do. I think you've got great formations.

(54:09):
You got a lot of work. You're too close to it, man,
You're too close to it. You too just it's I
told you, the era of good feeling is here.

Speaker 3 (54:16):
Man.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
You guys are good. You have a quarterback, you have
everything you need. You're fine. This is just every every
every year in the off season stuff where hey, okay,
some guys are gonna go, some guys are gonna replace.
That's how it goes. You lost the center, you lost
another starter on offense to injury. You're losing your secondary.
Your pass rush wasn't very good. There's a lot you
want my roster, I'll trade your roster for my No.

(54:38):
I'm just telling you. Reality is there's still a lot
of work to be done here. My friend DJ Moore expendable,
absolutely exit. How about a Fresca he's sadness. Mike Harmon
over here to be wearing the blue with the big
glask I look good.
