the day, a different take on no NBA games, NFL
schedule release day, I want to tell you guys how
close I was to being a witness and potential person
who was involved in the biggest pop culture story of

(01:14):
the day. Okay, biggest pop culture story of the day,
The biggest pop culture story of the day. I think
I know which one that is. So last night coming
into work, about fifty yards now even I would say
fifty yard maybe forty yards from here is Blue Dog Tavern, right,
and I've I go there probably a couple of times

(01:35):
a month, like chilli there the wings. They are really good.
And sometimes if I get up, if traffic cooperates and
I get to work early, I'm like, yo, I'm gonna go.
If you get to work like five point forty five whatever,
I got an hour and so I'll go and I'll
have and I'll have dinner, and they have you know,
it's kind of a sports bar. They have all the
TVs on so I can see the games. Like, yeah,
I'll go up there. Last night, I got to work
and I got to work a little bit early, and

(01:56):
I was like, oh, maybe I'll go up to Blue
Dog tonight. And I was gonna do it, and then
I said, oh, they're probably not gonna have the Mets
game on. And I got to get out of here
before Harmon gets here. And he tags along and he
asked me to pay because he has I have his
wallet with him. So I was gonna go, and I'm like, ah,
you know what, but no, I gotta watch basketball game.

(02:17):
I want to see the Mets. So they're not gonna
have the Mets on there, So I'll stay here, right, Okay,
So I stay here, you come in, we do the show,
everything else. So I wake up today and I see
this Britney Spears story is everywhere that she was out
at dinner last night where, according to people who saw
her behave in this restaurant, she was barking really loudly

(02:39):
for no reason. She was walking around holding a knife
past people's tables in your hand, and she really hates
the valley. As I walk around, might have been doing
a soliloquy from a Shakespearean playing. And then, according to report,
she tried to smoke a cigarette. They had to tell
a look, you have to put out the cigarette. And

(02:59):
it was a weird situation, and security, crazy California rules,
and security came in and and that's how she left.
I was like, oh my, and I see this story
and I see the picture, I go, oh my goodness.
It was at the Blue Dog Tavern, which is forty
yards kid had his chance fifty yards away. I could
have met Brittany. I mean I could have met Britney

(03:21):
or I would have had at least had video of it.
I would have had I said, oh, this is okay something,
because apparently line they didn't they didn't know Jason Smith
leaves his family for Britney Spears, wouldn't you. I walked up,
I'm like, I can't believe this, and apparently nobody really
knew it was her until the very end because she

(03:42):
was with a couple of other people and she had
had on whatever it was, but it was Britney Spears
of Blue Dog, and I'm like, I almost went I was,
I was this close going to the Blue Dog. The
Mets ruined my chance of meeting Britney Spears or seeing this,
or at least getting this on video and calling TMZ
going yeah, I got this on video, but I want
I want I want six figures on this or no,

(04:04):
I want five figures. I was gonna say this, this
isn't really. Do you think I could have made fifty
grand if I had one video? Fifty grand? It's not
fifty twenty five grand. I'd be pushing it. Might get
to ten. Oh, I would at least ten. I would
have got yeah, but nothing really grandios happened at least
from it is. But this is the big stories of
talking about her. There was video evidence of it. I mean,

(04:27):
come on, yeah, but this this seems like in the
grand scale, this is like a Britney's Like we're talking
about schedule releases. It's like a D minus dude, Britney
Spears is a is a TMZ New York Post tabloid dream.
But I might have been able to talk her down
if we would have been over there. No, no, come on,
let's do a little song and dance and let's put

(04:48):
that knife down. Can we do a little toxic coun
we do Womaniza well manasa womannaza baby I'm a woman? Yeah,
because I know it all from Dance Dance Revolution.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
No, we could do that. Let's do it. I mean
I was this close, man, I was just close, because
that would have been had I just decided to go
there to eat. All right, let's say this, I would
have settled for twenty grand there to give me twenty grand.
I think they would have give me twenty Look, that
would have been an impressive hall if you'd been able
to pull that off twenty grand. But instead I don't
have to. I know the Mets ruined. It cost you again,

(05:20):
ruined me. I know, right, I think. I mean they
won the game at that that's great, But they ruined
me from that night with Britney Spears because she was there.
I was. I mean, you gotta make sure you don't
see for folks that missed the beginning of the story
that the night where I had dinner in the same
restaurant with Britney Spears, there you go. There was some
stuff happening where I could have got it on tape,

(05:41):
and and and and it could have been something. Baby,
I'm a well manasa woman. I mean, I mean, I
was that close. I was that close to destiny. We
could have sat down and had a nice conversation about
the movie Crossroads. Oh yeah, yeah, would have been great,
brought her into studio. Let's come down, let's come down,

(06:02):
let's come talk some sports. I would have talked some
pop culture, maybe sing a couple of bars. Come on
me walking down here, walking in five to seven. Hey, guys,
got a guest with us tonight. I don't know how
much sports we're gonna talk, but here she is. Oh
my god, it's Britney Spears. Now he woke up and
we would have said it. Absolutely, sit right here in
the middle, in between those cameras and let's run. Let's
go stay as long as you want. Yeah, whatever we want,

(06:22):
We talk about whatever you want to talk about. You
you're from New we could talk about the Saints. We
can talk about Saints football. If you want to go
from New Orleans, we could do it. Say shuck, here's
your Saints football quiz, Brittany, here's what we got for you.
Here's your Saint football quiz. I mean that close forty
guy used to hang out with the Kardashian Go go go. Really,
I could have been famous, I mean even more famous

(06:44):
than I am now. I could have been like Hollywood famous,
like this guy. You might have been cast at as
a corpse in the next season of Criminal Minds or something.
Oh yeah, I could have done.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
I could be very still, I could be very Let's
be honest, we're never getting into that party, just like
the next. They would have bounced your at the door.
There wasn't a party. I could have walked again. The
servers loved.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Me though they shove me there. Yes, no, they I
would have walked. They said, oh you're in. They whenever
I effect whenever I go in, they'd bring me a
die coke before I even ordered. They know, oh, get
that guy a die coke. Yeah, you know. It's funny
every time we do a soccer road trip though. We
got this eclectic playlist, a lot of the stuff from
my influence to the years, but always by the end

(07:26):
of the first little block is Lucky by Britney Spears.
I thought, you're gonna go like Lucky Man for uh Emerson,
like Palmer, because then you can play that they keep.
I was just I was that. I'm sitting today going
I was that you blew it. I was that close,

(07:46):
because I mean we've spent stars here at the Mecro store.
The Mets ruined it for me. I mean really right there,
years ago, he and his fantasy UH crew. I used
to see them in there all the time. We've run
into Jamie Presley at the liquor store. I mean, we'll mate,
we could have had someone else on that list. Instead,

(08:06):
you came here to watch the Mets. The shame. The
Mets rolled it for me. Sha he wrote it for me.
I mean, I really, they've done nothing for you since
nineteen eighty six, and now they took away a potential
sighting and encounter, maybe with a knife, and Britney Spears
was there for everything you were never getting in Smith,
I would have sat down. She would have said, hey,

(08:28):
Mets guy, no Mets talk. Hey, okay, okay, I got it,
I got it, I got it. We're good. We're good.
Hey it's the kid. We're good, We're good. Hey, you're
that Jason Smith. I keep hearing about that is right,
woman and woman baby, I'm the woman, And all of
a sudden you show up in that that red leather
outfit that she's wearing. I get the ada. I'm holding

(08:50):
up the snake, the yellow snake and everything. Yeah, but
speaking of what's on sports and what's on team, get
your mind back here again? Yeah, I mean really, I
just I just blew it. You just went down the
whole thing. Now you're dancing with the snake and it's
all over. When I told Pam that story, she's she's
she's looking at her phone and she's playing a game,
and I go, I could have been there. I could

(09:11):
have been there, and she just goes, You're lost, like,
all right, great, thanks, okay, yeah, all right, that's great.
Hey a little crazy is okay? No NBA games tonight.
No NBA games scheduled tonight. Right, we get back at it. Yeah,
we get back at it tomorrow. I have the double
header on Friday. No, god forbid, we have a game
on Thursday night. Hey, look I don't have matters or

(09:34):
full house or anything anymore. No, no, no, we got
a double header of NBA action on a Friday night.
Can I just tell you how great a night tonight
would be for the NBA Draft Lottery? Just, I mean,
just honestly, just because just think about where we're at
right now, right where we watched the Knicks move on,
Thunder move on a couple of other series we're waiting

(09:55):
to see how they play out. We get a game
every night, and there's no game tonight. And what if
I said from the beginning, schedule the NBA Draft Lottery
on a night where you don't have a game, where
you can own the night because every you put a
four hour special on television and everybody's gonna watch. Everybody's
gonna watch to see who as you would get sent.

(10:16):
You could do fun interviews, you can preview it, you
can show me the process. Then you see the actual
drawings of the ping pong balls and who's excited who's not.
You have interviews, then you can have a breakdown of
who fits. Where it's a five to six person draft,
the top of the first round, you have four hours
of entertainment where you would own the new cycle. And
still nope, we're jamming this thing in on Sunday afternoon

(10:36):
on Mother's Day before the next game. Like I really,
this is like year twelve or thirteen of us saying
I don't know why the NBA doesn't take advantage of
one of the biggest days on the calendar, and it
happens to be the same week where the NFL has said,
oh yeah, yeah, NFL schedule re Lease Day. No, no,
it's NFL schedule release week. It has become a week
long process where some of the games get leaked one Monday,

(10:59):
some more leak on Tuesday, we get some on Wednesday,
here's your international slate. The rest of the games. On Thursday,
the team send their videos out. Like the NFL, we
know how to take advantage of this. The NBA is
still doing this with the draft lottery, and I don't
get it. How great of a night it would be tonight,
it would be it would be the number one trending
topic everywhere with social media. New stars would be born.
Who Who's the new Mallory Eaton's Who is gonna be

(11:20):
at the draft lottery this time? So many things could happen.
You could have scheduled it for tonight instead of Sunday.
And you know what, you don't need to say, well,
we need some time, No, you don't. You can schedule
an event within four days. You's something that can happen.
You know, it's the NFL, it's the NBA Draft Lottery.
You know about when it's gonna take place. Now you

(11:41):
can kind of go on the fly with it a
little bit if you need to, But just schedule it
on a night where there's no games. And with no
games tonight. Really you're going through the play where it's
a game every night, man, I mean then you get
to the finals where it's a game every five nights.
But it's just deal there, run now. I mean this
is where you would own it. You would own the schedule.
On a Thursday night, that's a big night for ratings,
for TV ratings, people are watching television. I don't understand

(12:05):
how you didn't do it. Well, you already slap it
to a grid based on the television partnerships anyway, Right,
you have the out uh and we've talked about that
clause a little bit of both series that ended early
in either conference that you can move things up if
you you you know, had the executive order that you
used or whatever. But you've got the opportunity. I mean,

(12:28):
we talked about the NFL and schedule release where we
had dribs and drabs for a long time. Right, we
had a couple of these in the in the hopera
already and then the rest of it's sloughed out over
the course of the week like rocks on the yard
at shawsh Ink and now here we are today with
all these great team team issued videos whate else. That's
what the the NBA, did you know your four team

(12:49):
teams that were playing in these in this lottery, have them,
oh them do something. Here's our release for the draft
lottery and bam, now you got a two minute thing
and here's your video representation of the guy you're projected
to select. But whether it's an hour or two or four,
as you say, for a full night, it's just a

(13:10):
missed opportunity. We talk about programming live events and having
a little bit of panache and style to how you
do these things because you're watching network after network, website,
social media all over the place. Now it's all about
the travel miles, it's all about the sequencing of these games,
like it just takes over. And for the NBA, you

(13:32):
had an opportunity for a night that doesn't really have
anything else other than the more belly aching about the
future of Lebron James. You could do that. We can
do some of that too, but you had the opportunity
to at least take some hold back from the NFL
because you know, you lost Christmas Day. You ain't getting
that back. Yeah, that's if you need to pick Arbor

(13:55):
Day or some nonsense now because you got nothing on
the holidays, not a day you don't even have the
day before the Holidays because they took that to that's
actually a day that now is named for former New
York Islanders coach Al Arboro, who go for Stanley cups
in a row in the eighties. Four yeah, four get
those stores ut hal Arbor Day. Yeah, good for him.

a big party. Joining us now in the hotline to
continue on with the party. He is a longtime NFL insider.
He has seen his fair share of NFL schedule releases.

(16:27):
He is a Hall of Very Good voter. He is
thirty thirdeen. He is on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two.
He is Jason Cole, Jay Cole, What's happening Man?

Speaker 3 (16:41):
The Graine got a lot of nice girls.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Yeah, all right, well we got what's up, buddy. We've
got NFL schedule release today. Man, the Bears have the
toughest schedule in the NFL. Bars banging his head against
the wall Bears.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
Yeah, well he knew the opponents before this.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Yeah. Yeah, but it's all about the sequencing, Jacob. Yeah,
the sequencing doesn't work for the Bears.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
It's not particularly good at least at least this you're
not leading the league and air miles by double like
said the forty nine ers are going to do this year.
It's like having to go Melbourne and Mexico City like
that was a big mistake by College. And when you
complained about getting the Melbourne game and said, like there's

(17:29):
no reason for us to go there at all, it's like, okay,
well let's invite you to go to Mexico City too.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Well you got that, and you're battling that pesky substation.
It all adds up.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
Yes, well, yeah, the electrons from the substation, they're gonna
throw the entire season off. They're actually it's gonna dry
out all their musculature of any kind.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Hey, I'm gonna tell you that, Jake call the forty
nine is going to push this forward and go, hey,
this year we get to see the world. They're gonna look,
you're gonna look back at this year in the NFL.
That was my favorite year league. That was my favor
year in the league. I got to go play in
every time. We even played a game in Antarctic. At
the end of the year we got fixed.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
It's like, that's great, We're playing the Polar Bears. That's
not just the Chicago Bears. So that'd be brilliant if
they if they turned in this into like the worldwide
around it, around the world in eighty games. Could you

(18:34):
do that way?

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Hey, patent that idea. And they're all each on a
different streamer. Roger Goodell's gonna go, oh, I'm gonna make
eighty games, eighty International.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Games stars exactly what cal starkist.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Yeah, this is Chuck reminding Bill to shut up, to
shut up, But like maybe Goodell would do that then
around the world in eighty games, we go from nine
international games to eighty international games.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
They're gonna they're gonna barnstorm this thing like crazy, especially
when they get to like playing twenty regular season games
because the Union is suckless. But yeah, that's another that's
something else.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
I say, what is that a decade from now? But
J Cole, that's my favorite.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
Thing about the years. That's three years. That's three years. Yeah,
they bully the Union at ever. You have just to
get more games. Oh we need more inventory. Oh you
mean you guys have no knees left. Not really a problem.
We'll get some other guys, we promise.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
No in the NFL is saying, hey, we're selling off
all these games from one hundred million dollars a game.
Can we sell off that much inventory? Yeah, because we're
just gonna add it when we add games to the
regular season next couple of years. It's awesome.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
We're going eighteen games. Never made notes. Union is powerless
to stuff and there, and they're allowed to go to
twenty events quote unquote, which means like, okay, let's just
do away with the preseason thing and let's go straight
the games. We'll have a good time, be awesome. So
that's all they're going to do anyways, as a schedule, Look,

(20:05):
I love this schedule because of the party atmosphere to it,
and I do love the competition among the teams to
have who gets like this is when the PR departments
get to really geek out. Oh yeah, have a good time.
Like they just go crazy that you know. So I
do love that part of it because they get to
they get to be creative. But but all really people,

(20:27):
people are really doing and so you know, they're having
some fun with the discussion about will the Bears make
it to make it based on their on their schedule
or not. You know, like we're going to freak out
for a day or two. But the most important thing
is like you got to buy your airline tickets, you know,
because which games are you going to? And if you're
playing Vegas, you know how many tickets can you buy

(20:47):
for the Vegas game right away? You know, so that
you can fill up that stadium and make it a
home game for your team.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
No, and that's the beautiat it, right, it's all all
the airlines should get in on it, and and the
hotel chains and everybody every other partner.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
This should be Marriott and Delta. This is just a
Marriott and Delta present the NFL schedule.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
See look at you, Roger Goodell's going to hire you
to do things.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Man.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
You're you're you're you're you're thinking forward.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
Yeah, I get along with Roger, but I think it's
because he keeps me at arm's length. Okay, there's just yeah,
just here, don't get too close. Just don't get I'm.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Gonna tell you my my Goodell story. The one at
the time I met him, we were for NFL Network.
We were doing a uh our shows in New York
City because I I hosted the fantasy show there and
We're getting Goodell on stage was a big deal for us.
He was coming to it. It's a really big deal.
It's like, okay, great. So they're going over what I'm
gonna ask him before, and like, okay, ask him this asthmen.
So I said, okay, I go. Can I ask you

(21:48):
if you play fantasy football?

Speaker 3 (21:49):
Just goes? No new?

Speaker 1 (21:51):
I said, okay, can I ask you about fantasy goes?

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (21:54):
Yes, Like okay, great, all right. Can I now ask
you about all the different game partners? Yeah, it's a
much different in conversation. This was back in the day
where this is back in the day where wait, Tony
Romo can't go to Vegas and do some sort of
fantasy football thing. No, no, no, that this is Roger
took money out of my pocket that that week when

(22:15):
he canceled.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
Yes, he definitely said he was he was willing to
do that. He didn't care about your pocket too much.
He cares about his though a whole lot. He really does.
That's why he's made, you know, billions of dollars doing this.
My favorite story about Roger is when I told him
that I told my youngest son that he was the
officiant that Roger was the offficiant at my my wedding

(22:40):
to my wife. Wow during half during halftime of the
Pro Bowl, because for my second marriage, boys, two out
of three am bad. I am not alonged to. I
am not allowed to bring up the fact that I
am betrothed to somebody like I've been banned from from.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Discussing from getting married again.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
Well, now I'm married again, but she has banned me
from bringing her up as a topic. I am not.
I'm not allowed to say the letters W, I F
E in concert. Let's just put it that way, Okay.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
Let me let me ask you this. If I tried
to ask you this, what's what's greater the number of
times you've been married or jets wins this year? What
number is going to be greater?

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Well, I'm at three, so that's higher. Anyways, the story is, yeah, yeah,
after the second after the second marriage, we got married
in Hawaii, we went to a little during Pro Bowl week.
So we went over there, you know, and went to

(23:56):
this really beautiful botanical garden over on the north side
of the island. And but then I told my son that,
you know, my youngest son, he was probably eight or
nine at the time, and I said, I called him
and I said, yeah, we're going to get married at
halftime of the Pro Bowl, and Roger Goodell is going
to be the efficient He's going to be there. And
so I told And then I saw Roger, you know,

(24:19):
months later at the at the owner's meetings were we
were at the dinner, and I said, after I go,
I just wanted you to know that I did this. Yeah,
I told my son that you were the officiant of
our at our wedding during the Pro Bowl. So if
that ever gets back to you somehow, it is true
that I told him that, and that I lied to
my own son. Yes, I did that, But he laughed

(24:39):
about it, and he.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Called him father Goodell for the longest time. But he
was that he must have liked that.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
Roger the pastor. Oh, Rober, you know you're talking to me,
Roger Roger the shrubber.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
You know you're talking to a guy who actually did
officiate a wedding like I've I've done that, like i
I've actually I'm that guy. Do you believe that someone
actually this guy do it? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Was it in Vegas?

Speaker 1 (25:05):
It was in Arizona. And I didn't bring up the
Mets or the Jets once in the web. That was
a condition and there was someone standing there with a machete.
I did bring up Corbyn Carroll with a gun. I
did bring up Corbyn Carroll and the final play of
the Rose Bowl when Michigan beat Alabama. Those are the

(25:25):
two sports things I brought up. But it made sense.
It made sense. It's like when when Will Arnette and
Blades of Glory. Yeah, we did this whole thing with
JFK and marilynd Roe in the past. When you see
it on ice, it makes sense. Oh okay, Yeah, it
made sense at the time to do it that way.
They made complete sense.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
I could see it as an officient of a wedding
that could be fun. You would use your play by
play voice.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
I think I'm that one the side hustle. It's my
side hustle. So riddle me this, J Cole.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
Yes. Back to actual NFL stuff.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Well, I mean just it's fun because in between all
of these schedule release stuff, we get noticed that the
Dolphins have decided to build around Devon each hand with
his sixty four million dollar extension to take for twenty
twenty six. Well let's bottom out and let's pay a
running back a lot of money. I'm confused.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
I yeah, yeah, yeah, that's not really smart. Yeah, that's yeah.
I don't get it either, because here's the other thing,
is like, is he not good? Like? I understand when

(26:39):
you have, you know, somebody who changes the nature of
how you'll like Derrick Henry. Derrick Henry deserves to get
paid that kind of money. Maybe not now, but when
he got traded to to Baltimore and to extend him
in this, you know, because you're building around him as
a complimentary piece. He provides a quality in that offense

(27:02):
that opens everything else. What does AHM do that? Does that?
Does that? Especially if you're not going to play up
tempo football and you've got a bunch of you know,
slug bake quarterbacks. Did I say that, Yeah, I kind
of that's unfortunate, but it's not it's not inaccurate. But like,

(27:24):
why are you paying anybody that kind of money when
you have you know, maybe you just have to because
the cap is so high you have to spend the money.
I haven't taken a look at their their cap to
really understand it, but like, he's the kind of guy
you want to build up his value and try and
trade him for something big in in season. He's not

(27:48):
the guy that because he's not a big guy who
you think is going to make it through that contract.
So I just don't understand it. And and do you
really think that you're going to be that good at
the end of year three the way things are going?
I mean, really the betting odds are are you going
to have the number one overall pick? And are you
going to get arch Manning? Next year? Is that like

(28:08):
or whoever the top quarterback is in the draft? That's
that's really what you're looking at. And by the time
you know, whatever quarterback you take a year from now
becomes good, a chance is not gonna probably not good.
So this really doesn't make a live of sense. I
will agree with you on that. Wholeheartedly.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
He's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two. That is
at Jason Cole sixty two, thirty third team, a Pro
Football Hall, a very good voter. That was a very
good interview with Jason.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
Can't I can't even argue a very good thing any wanted.

Speaker 1 (28:42):
Just ye, just part of who you are? Now, yeah,
you're that. You know. You know what's gonna happen is
one day you'll be walking down the street. Someone's gonna
hear your voice and they're gonna go, oh my god,
you're Andrew Locke. No, I'm Jason Cole, and they're gonna go, oh,
you're the very good guy. That's gonna that's gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Well, I don't mind being a very good guy. That's
so that's okay, I'm not again, there are many women
in my life who would say that's not true.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
Well two, maybe three, okay.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Yeah I made him In the current wife she's like, yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
She's kind of doing the head bob and shrugged. Right,
So she's been listening to this interview or not. It depends,
I know.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
Yeah. Now she's not me for forty something years. She knows,
she knows well enough what I ambody.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
We'll talk to be good.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
There goes Ja Cole guarantee you right now. He hangs
up the phone. He goes, hey, uh, we reready watched ity.
Did you hear any of that? Do you hear any
of what else?

Speaker 3 (29:39):
No? Oh?

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Okay, no, no, no, no, nothing nothing. I just didn't
know if I was disturbing you. But I don't know
if you heard anything. That's fine, that's fine. I made
a rich salient point about the ineffectiveness of the Dolphins
brass by the way, they have the least amount of
effective cavspace as of right now. So it wasn't like
they were being forced to spend money. No no, no, no,
no't get us social media to check no out. The

(30:01):
interview was fine. It was a don't no, get to
social media. Done there, don't search, don't search. Jets very good,
and Jason and Mike go, don't stay. We're good, We're good.
Let's let's watch TV. Let's watch TV. Let's watch ve
time now to find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports from b buro bree, what do you
got for us tonight?

Speaker 6 (30:17):
All right, guys, So you guys were talking about this
season opener between the Patriots and Seahawks. Another kind of
thing to keep an eye on when it comes to
the Patriots schedule this season. Tom Brady is going to
return to New England for the first time as a
broadcaster in Week nine when the Packers take on the Patriots,
So that's something kind of to keep an eye on.
His first time in uh, you know, New England as

(30:41):
a broadcaster, and for the first time ever. This season
will include a Thanksgiving Eve game between the Packers and Rams.
In LA, the Rams lead the way with seven primetime games.
The teams that have six primetime games, they consist of
the Packers, the Chiefs, the Bills, and the Seahawks. In
the NHL, the Canadians have taken a three two Seas
lead after defeating the Sabers, is six to two just

(31:03):
ending that second period, the Golden Knights on top of
the Ducks three to one. Vegas has a three two
series lead and right now in Major League base while
the Giants have tied it up, it's two that they
have two runs. The Dodgers have two runs at the
bottom of the fifth inning and a little bit earlier today,
Kyle Schwarber hit is the eighteenth home run of the season.
The Phillies defeated the Red Sox three to one. The

(31:24):
Cubs avoided the sweep and shut out the Braves two
to zero. The White Sox they swept the Royals six
to two. They are on a five game win streak,
and the Reds took care of business at home. They
crushed the Nationals fifteen to one.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
Back to you guys, Thank you very much, Brie, Jason Smith,
Mike Harmon, Lott from the Fox Sports Radio Studios. Now,
coming up next, we'll have more from NFL schedule re
lease day. But today there was a huge trade and
it didn't really make sense. Everybody was weighing on on
social media. I don't know that it makes sense, and

(31:59):
we gotta break this down. Oh absolutely, we have to
bring this down. Coming up next, right here, the biggest
trade of the day. Without coming up next, James, It's
coming up next, Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio.

(32:44):
get off the air. A big trade today. You probably
woke up and saw this trade was everywhere, like, yeah,
you couldn't avoid it. It's like the Britney Spears video.
I've had several people comment of something else you avoided
beyond potentially making a couple of dollars that you potentially,
knowing your boisterous personality, might have gotten yourself stabbed. So

(33:06):
this helped you to avoid You know, Jimmy Dugan had
avoided advice for something else here stay out of there
so you don't get stabbed. Well, there is that I mean?

Speaker 3 (33:18):
I was.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
I was seconds away from enjoying dinner across from Britney
Spears last night, where I could have been an authority
on whatever happened at the restaurant, but I decided not
to go in because I wanted to watch the Mets.
Now I half want one of their Burgers. The the
Mets just do this to me. They suck you back in,
there's no question about it. But it's a lot more
on that coming up. But but this trade today. You
woke up today and when I saw this trending, I'm like, well,

(33:42):
why is what happened? Like I'm thinking, Oh my goodness,
what happened? And I go, oh, well, this is a
trade that really has a big question mark attached to it.
And then when I saw the trade and saw what
it was, I said, okay, we have to talk about
this tonight. There was a big trade today between Pittsburgh
in Boston. Huge, huge deal Hockey, huge deal, huge deal Baseball.

(34:04):
Maybe Paul gets moved, Paul, how about that? If you
if you put it with nothing, huge trade involving a
major superstar, Pittsburgh and Boston with a big trade, up, Hey,
get the jungle. Wait, Skeens is gonna get the Red
Sox out of their doldrums and out of last place? No, no, no, no, wow.
There was a blockbuster trade between Pittsburgh and Boston. The

(34:29):
Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium and the Franklin Zoo in Boston.
It was a blockbuster gorilla trade in which the Pittsburgh
Zoo shipped out a seven year old male Western Lowland
gorilla Frankie to the Franklin Zoo in Boston in exchange
for Little Joe, a thirty three year old silverback. So

(34:53):
that was the trade. Pittsburgh sends out a seven year
old male Western Lowland gorilla Frankie, they get back Little Shoe,
thirty three year old silver back. Okay, now, right away,
you see all the great lines. Oh, I think there
are cash considerations to kick in. Uh, clearly Pittsburgh's in
a wind now mode getting a thirty three year old

(35:14):
gorilla in exchange for a seven year old Oh you
see all that. It's kind of fun, and I even
felt bad like having some fun with this, But I
gotta I got a real question here, yeah, okay, So,
knowing that the the the lifespan of gorilla's napes is
is long, in what world does it make sense to

(35:35):
trade a seven year old gorilla for a thirty three
year old gorilla? I don't know that that's the whole
thing that gets you, Okay, Frostburg, I don't.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
I don't think it knowledge. You think it's knowledge.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
It slowed down? Okay, So is uh, navigational iq is
is gone through the roof. I mean I immediately started going,
all right, what are we talking about in terms of
how long can you mate as a silver back? You know,
what's the expiration date there versus being the young, upstart
seventy eight year old gorilla. Okay, all right, right, So

(36:14):
I was thinking about that in terms of fertility and
what you can do in terms of you know, bloodline, right,
but acknowledgement. Right, But here's what doesn't make sense, right
because I did a little research on this, right, Okay, yeah,
is this h silverback gorillas live in the wild between

(36:35):
thirty to forty years, but in captivity where they get VET, medicine, nutrition,
all that forty to fifty years. Okay, okay, so we're
about two thirds through the life. We're at the back
end of the midlife. Western Lowland gorillas. Yeah, in the
wild live thirty to forty years. With medicine and nutrition,

(36:57):
they live between forty and fifty years. So you traded
a seven year old gorilla where you have another forty
some odd years of this gorilla for a gorilla where
well I get another decade plus you get you get
a lot of run and you can sell the young
gorilla rilla on the marketing and merchandise for years. The

(37:18):
merchant we got this guy, he's coming into his own. Yeah,
I don't know where that makes sense. I really like
what like, there was no other gorilla to be named later,
There was no other future consideration, There was none of that.
It just seems like a straight up brand for one. Yeah,
gorilla trade and it really we didn't get a whole
lot of you know, details in terms of what kind

(37:42):
of habitat we're going into. I mean, is is the
the older gorilla going to a space that can really
take advantage of his prowess and dominance. The older gorilla
is going to a to a space that looks like
Yankee Stadium. The younger gorilla is going to it looks
like City and his power prime. I gotta go to
City Field. I don't want to go there, man, I

(38:02):
want to go to Yankee Stadium. Man, that's the greatest.
Whereas I mean, the younger gorilla, maybe you can't take
full advantage of the the habitat that's been constructed, so
he needs more seasoning in the miners. I mean, I
don't know, but Frostburg, you think you think it's about
that the thirty three yeld gorilla is really smart? You
think that's what it is? Okay, did No, I'm just

(38:24):
I'm just I mean that that's a that's a good
point to make. It would be the only reason. Okay,
all right, he is better at that and clean up
for the mets. Okay, Well, yeah, that's that's how trouble
I wonder. I just want to know how the hell
nobody vetoed this? Uh? I know?

Speaker 3 (38:39):
Right?

Speaker 1 (38:39):
Like that, this this went through the zoo front office.
This is getting the commissioners zoo office, is okay? Like
I was reading another article talking about the the problems
that aquariums and and zoos are having right now with
the cost of food having risen as it is, so
they're trying to slough off low grade fish on like

(39:01):
the penguins and seals and whatever else, and they're not
having it. They're rejecting the lower class of food. Food
here used to be good. We used to get krill
anytime you want, now forget So is that part of
the consideration. Look, you take our thirty three year old
fully grown gorilla, but you got to give us some
food considerations for you know, our other mammals and and

(39:23):
species that we've got. See, I'm wondering if this trade
could get rescinded. Follow does the trainer have to go
with what's the what's the biggest thing that most likely
was part of this? Right, because I know Frankie's gonna
be part of a gorilla clan and they want to
mate and everything and that you know have long lifespet. Okay,
that's great, but like you're trading a seven year old

(39:47):
gorilla for a thirty three year old gorilla. Could there
be some sort of mating issues and this is why
the seven year old gets traded for the thirty three
year old and when the zoo getting the seven year
old season, Oh, there might be issue. We got to
risk in this trade. We want the thirty three old
gorilla back. He's better at mating. Seven year old probably
got a little is a little more spry, he's eager.

(40:11):
You don't know, it could be this could be called back.

Speaker 4 (40:14):
Yes, thirty three year old might be able to hold
off maybe like one hundred men.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
Oh yeah, sure, yeah, there is that. Maybe maybe it'll
be like hunger games in the zoo. Yeah, we're gonna
do that whole thing on it like he can can
one and one silver back? Goarolla, hold off one hundred men?
Who wins the men have no weapons? Who wins one
versus one hundred? Well, you know, I got a lot
of questions. I mean, do you get some reptiles in

(40:41):
the trade? Do the trainers have to run for? What
do the trainers have to go with? Do you have
to trade part of your zoos down?

Speaker 3 (40:48):
So?

Speaker 1 (40:49):
Do you get a higher level person who's been working
in years? Trainers don't get traded? When when guys get traded?
Guys with injury problems get traded? Translator No no again,
very controversial trade exit out about a Fresca exit swollen dome.
Coming up next, we get back into the biggest NFL
story of the day. We have more a grades to
