runner and scoring position. Right now, it's like, ah, the

I liked it. But we make sure our friends in

And for me it was particularly satisfying because we did

If you tied it into the movie release, Yeah, I'm

home cool, the Warriors thing in the Traveling Troubadours, that
would have been fun, all right, fun story going back
to Miami. If nothing else, we wanted to see him,
you know, pat Riley Gravel and then eventually Lebron start
fighting with Spolster again. But Philadelphia, right, the Calchy market
had it at eight percent, and I kept saying that

that's the one I want because for basketball reasons, it's
the most interesting, and it's a new place, it's a
new time, and it's heavy. It's Philadelphia and Lebron James
coming to be part of this road show and we
all win.

So I was at today they had the Jalen Brown
introductory news conference, so who, by the way, is incredibly
impressive in what he's talking about, and they're all bought in.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
It's it's a great story.
Speaker 6 (08:52):
My good buddy Kevin the Gandhi was in town to
interview with Mike Gansey yesterday. They had a couple of
cheese steaks and talking about having happened, and it air
tonight on their Sports center, and you know, it's, uh,
it's a great story. I did not think he was
coming here. I didn't think he was. I thought he
was gonna go back to Cleveland, just because it made sense, right, like, sure,

he's a story guy, he is going to do the doc,
the whole nine, and it just made sense that he
would end it in Cleveland. And you know, it wasn't
until when they when when they got Jalen Brown because dude,
I thought that they were buried for years, Like, honestly,
they had Paul George.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
Paul George contract was sitting staring you in the face.
Speaker 6 (09:39):
And Embiid's contract right, and you know, and Embiid the
whole thing with him is tremendous talent, but you know,
he's just never available, especially in the playoffs, and so
you're thinking, you know, the shame of it is, they're
gonna waste Tyree's Maxi, who was a you know, a
real budding star. And I don't know how games he
did it, but you know he got bost in the bite.
(10:00):
All this nonsense about analytically he's not that good and
everything else. It's Paul George. Are you guys nuts? Like
that trade? I don't understand it. I don't care what
happens that trade's it was a ridiculous trade.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
Like I was a great trade for the Sixers.
Speaker 6 (10:19):
And that's what opened up Lebron's eyes, the fact that
Jalen Brown's here and they had one one gaping hole
and it was in the fourth spot, and it was
for a guy that can facilitate Mike. Like the ideas
people ask me all the time, Well, who's gonna take
the last shot? And my answer is easy, whoever Lebron
(10:41):
passes it to, because he's gonna have the ball in
his hands and he's gonna create, and he's gonna either
see Maxie or Brown, maybe even in bead and that's
where it's gonna go.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
But that's the beauty of it, right, is you do
have all of these you know, folks say there's only
one basketball. That's fine, cuz they're not going to play
eighty two games together during the regular season. Okay, let's
just cancel that. Indeed, it's the how can you be
judicious with his minutes and for all the incoming he
takes the fact that the guys had a career like
(11:13):
he has given the start. I think I'll take his life.
I think I'll take his resolve and the fact that
he's busted his ass to be on the court given
what started with his feet, right, I mean, all those
years I was like, is this guy ever gonna see
the court?
Speaker 2 (11:27):

We might Kansas States?

Yeah, yeah, he might, he might, We don't know. But
here we are, all these years later. I mean, you
add Edgecomb to the mix. Uh, you bring in KCP,
maybe a little diminished but still a good role guy.
Like there's there's just so much to like about it.
And the Knicks coming off of this this run now,
they were helped by the fact that they didn't meet

nearly as much resistance the Cavaliers quit. I mean, we
can just call that what it is. I'm usually loath
to use that term when it comes to professional athletes
and sporting of events. You could watch the will leave
their body, you know, that's that way. It just stole there.
Speaker 6 (12:08):
It was like that. It was like a puff of
white smoke. There's soul just kind of left.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Yeah, it's straight out of Raiders of the Lost Dark, right,
I mean, that guy just melted. It's a final, but
it's just the idea with the Sixers squad and for
Lebron James. Look, I'm a Jordan guy, I'm a Southside
Chicago and I live and die by it. But so
long as we have story lunch, and so long as
he keeps playing, I don't feel so old. That's first Anthony.
(12:33):
But the second thing to it all is everybody wants
to rip the jerseys off these guys backs. I don't
care if you're nineteen seventy three Willie Mays, if you
can still put asses in seats, bring people to the TV.
I mean, Adam Silver was crying that he needed to
do the television schedule for crying out loud. So for
(12:56):
Lebron James, the fact that you wield that much power
and yes didn't get old here in Los Angeles, Yes,
because it was Lebron watch incessantly. What this next chapter
is mighty interesting, particularly now that the Knicks of the
darling of the sporting world, at least for a minute.
Speaker 6 (13:14):
Yeah, man, it's it's the one thing about that league.
It's amazing, right, we love the sport, you know, Listen,
I started with Jordan's at the end of Mike's career
in Chicago was when I started writing about sports. And
(13:34):
so I was in Chicago and you know, walk through
Gate three and a half at the old Chicago Stadium
and loved every second of it and that and I
watched it from that moment to what it is now,
Like Mike would play forty four minutes in the regular
season every game, right, and I watch it now and
(13:56):
I go and I love it.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
I love the game.
Speaker 6 (13:58):
I loved the whole thing and love the league with
its flaws. The regular season is like half a scam,
but the playoffs are awesome, Like, the playoffs are incredible.
It's amazing what happens when you have the great, great
athletes like NBA players are care and play defense like
(14:23):
I mean that series first of all Spurs OKC was.
Speaker 5 (14:28):
Unbelievable and that Nick's run was incredible.
Speaker 6 (14:31):
Man, it was just it was just an awesome run
that they just blowing teams down. And then the finals
were incredible. And that's what that league. It's it's amazing
because it's incredible for the you know, the ten weeks
in the playoffs and the off season, because it's got
(14:52):
all kinds of drama, like all kinds of movement and craziness,
and it's it's entertaining.

No, it's it.

I mean, just folks can bemoan the eight champions in
eight years. One of the things you always have to
instill is hope for your squad, right that's somewhere along
the line, whether it's a new GM or the old
guy gets to stick around long enough for his plan
to come to fruition that it's gonna work out right
(15:20):
for you, that you're gonna draft the right guy that
someone's gonna want to come to your town. Are there
places that are exile, Yes, and we see that in
every sport, but to where these playoff runs are just
insanely entertaining each and every year. And the Knicks with
a fifty three year drought, now they I mean, I
(15:41):
gotta go back to full four four. I mean, come on,
let's go. I mean, why not us?
Speaker 5 (15:46):
Yeah, that's exactly what that.
Speaker 6 (15:48):
It's funny you said that because that's kind of the
rallying cry, right like, like you know that if the
Knicks didn't win, Lebronson is in New York right like
the nix it whin the title, He's playing for the Knicks,
and that's that's just that. But the fact they win that,
you know, he then all the circumstances come here.
Speaker 5 (16:08):
He's got the best chance.
Speaker 6 (16:10):
And it is kind of fascinating, how you know there
it's been you know, forty some years, nineteen eighty two,
eighty three.

When it was Moses, like you said, the faux FOFO
Julius Irving, Maurice Cheeks Andrew Tony. Yes, one of the
great crimes of sports that he had a degenerative foot condition.
But he was one of the great Boston Strangler. He's
one of the great players. Get quick, had an incredibly
quick release, great first step, could play, was a combo

guar could shoot it. Was a real good player and
had his career cut like dramatically short.

That's it, you know, much to my mom's chagrin. I

did the basketball side of things and the excitement and
everybody busting out the jerseys of all those sixers of
the past and walking up and down, walking walking down
the street and taking over. And then we look at
the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East and another year
(19:41):
of changes in the coaching realm Jalen Hurts, you know,
always the guy people like to watch him play until
they don't in Philadelphia. Is did that echo and reflect
what the national narrative is?
Speaker 4 (19:56):
Is he more beloved or is it still as vexing?
Speaker 5 (20:01):
I think for the most part he is absolutely beloved.
Speaker 6 (20:06):
They remember he brought a Super Bowl, right, so you know,
the fact is he went to one and one another.
And I think most fans have they're an incredibly loyal
fan base when you win, and most fans they just
hate all the rankings and the fact that they see
(20:27):
him and they're you know, he's seventeen in this list
and nineteen in that list, and so they blanche at
that and they don't understand it.
Speaker 5 (20:36):
Look, I think.
Speaker 6 (20:37):
Jalen comes with his flaws, but he's an incredible winner.
I think his biggest gene, he's got the winning gene.
He knows how to He may not be six four
and could throw dimes, but he throws a really nice
deep ball. He's got a great feel for the game,
you know, he's always always had that. He's a coach's
(21:00):
kid Alabama, Oklahoma.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
He will He's a hard worker, wants to win.
Speaker 6 (21:08):
And I think this is a fascinating time for Jalen
Hurts because Mike this is it like his contract it's
up after next year, right, so this is when you
start talking about extension. The Eagles are have a dramatic
new offense. Sean Mannion comes in from the Packers and
they're gonna run this. You know, Ben Johnson, this uh
(21:33):
you know under center offense, play action, they're going to
roll the pocket there He's gonna have to make you know, uh,
different reads, different progressions, and it's it's a change, right.
You know, he's so used to running the spread. He's
in shotgun.
Speaker 5 (21:52):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (21:52):
You know for years when he was really good, it
was the RPO offense, right and because he had such
great legs, great ability, he was dangerous. But last year
you saw it, Like God, listen, I don't care if
we saw Lamar last year. At some point you got
to become a pocket guy. That's just how the league works.
Like you lose half a step, you got to be
(22:14):
a pocket guy. So the evolution of this offense, so
it comes Manion and to run this offense and Hurts
has been great, man like this whole you know from
Minnie camp On. I think aj Brown leaving has has
gave him a little breath. He seems a lot more.
He seems a lot happier. He seems a lot more
(22:37):
like engaged with everybody. And I know he's taken it serious,
like he's putting a lot of work into it. You know,
he was saying the other day, you know he's trying
to relearn this position from under center, like he's working
on throne with his feet and you know quarterbacks right
like everything's your feet, Like he didn't last year. His
(22:58):
three step drop two and a half steps. His five
step drop was five and a half steps. The minute
there was a pressure, he bolted from the pocket and
and you know, I think you frustrated you a line
a little bit. I think the OC was a train wreck.
So all that conspire to a really bad offensive year
for them, including Saquon this year, it's it feels like,
(23:23):
you know, he wants to kind of reinvent himself.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
Yeah, as you.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
Look at the roster as assembled, and I always wonder
with number one receivers, I don't want to use the
diva tag, but let's call it what it is. A
lot of the oxygen gets sucked out of the room
because you feel like you need to force the ball
there even if it's not there. Because they're chirping in
your ear fan, you're hearing it from the fans, You're
(23:46):
hearing it from every fantasy football owners and folks will
dismiss it, the gamblers. All of that cacophony of voices
becomes a very large thing. So sometimes you end up
squeezing a little tighter and try to make a throw
that isn't there. So part of that is just being
judicious and recognizing, hey, you may have to wear it
from that guy, but that guy's not there anymore.

Brown is gone, and you look around the league and
you can point here, point there, whatever, you know, you're
talking about the work in the pocket. That's one of
the Caleb Williams, you know, points of emphasis in year two.

In how you're moving in the influid in the pocket,
but recognize when you need to check down.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
You don't need to extend everything.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
And certainly Kalen Hurts has taking a ton of hits
to where that's added up. Right.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
He's young, He's not young, exactly.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
That's right.

A lot of pounded man, Well, dudes get pounded like that,
you're just gonna lose a step you were lose. And
he also half a step last year. He was not
He did not have that burst that he that he
usually had. What's allowed him to run away from trouble
and the idea like what Ben Johnson's talking about, which
is going to add years on the on the other
side of Caleb's career, which step it up in the
(25:01):
pocket right, not just bouncing it out the minute you
see any kind of trouble, you're gonna bounce it out wide,
step up, slide step, you know that what like the
masterful of Brady's feet, go back to wh like I
love quarterback play right watching him play quarterback and the
(25:22):
subtle movements, the subtle step to the right, right, the
subtle duck under and move up into the pocket. That's
all the stuff that that Jalen's now going to be,
you know, kind of working.

With blessed to do it last fall. Hopefully we get
it back together again. But every Sunday morning, I got
to have a nice extended two hour chat with Greg
Cosel here on Radio right, and a lot of what
we were talking about when it comes to Williams and
Jalen Hurts and a handful of quarterbacks that stood out
(25:54):
to him in this regard was the recognizing what's real
pressure versus perceived in terms of your own acceleration of
moving up into the pocket before you need to, and
they're thereby closing your outs. You can't escape and extend
plays anymore because you've gotten into no man's land around
the big guys. Uh, and you're not throwing over the
(26:17):
big guys, right, so you.

All right, Like Jaylen, who's a little on the side,
isn't going to do that. You know, Brady with that

trying to get the Scott's head going, all right, dude,

like with the voice.

If you tied it into the movie release, Yeah, I'm

home cool, the Warriors thing in the Traveling Troubadours, that
would have been fun, all right, fun story going back
to Miami. If nothing else, we wanted to see him,
you know, pat Riley Gravel and then eventually Lebron start
fighting with Spolster again. But Philadelphia, right, the Calchy market
had it at eight percent, and I kept saying that

that's the one I want because for basketball reasons, it's
the most interesting, and it's a new place, it's a
new time, and it's heavy. It's Philadelphia and Lebron James
coming to be part of this road show and we
all win.

So I was at today they had the Jalen Brown
introductory news conference, so who, by the way, is incredibly
impressive in what he's talking about, and they're all bought in.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
It's it's a great story.

My good buddy Kevin the Gandhi was in town to
interview with Mike Gansey yesterday. They had a couple of
cheese steaks and talking about having happened, and it air
tonight on their Sports center, and you know, it's, uh,
it's a great story. I did not think he was
coming here. I didn't think he was. I thought he
was gonna go back to Cleveland, just because it made sense, right, like, sure,

he's a story guy, he is going to do the doc,
the whole nine, and it just made sense that he
would end it in Cleveland. And you know, it wasn't
until when they when when they got Jalen Brown because dude,
I thought that they were buried for years, Like, honestly,
they had Paul George.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
Paul George contract was sitting staring you in the face.
Speaker 6 (09:39):
And Embiid's contract right, and you know, and Embiid the
whole thing with him is tremendous talent, but you know,
he's just never available, especially in the playoffs, and so
you're thinking, you know, the shame of it is, they're
gonna waste Tyree's Maxi, who was a you know, a
real budding star. And I don't know how games he
did it, but you know he got bost in the bite.
(10:00):
All this nonsense about analytically he's not that good and
everything else. It's Paul George. Are you guys nuts? Like
that trade? I don't understand it. I don't care what
happens that trade's it was a ridiculous trade.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
Like I was a great trade for the Sixers.
Speaker 6 (10:19):
And that's what opened up Lebron's eyes, the fact that
Jalen Brown's here and they had one one gaping hole
and it was in the fourth spot, and it was
for a guy that can facilitate Mike. Like the ideas
people ask me all the time, Well, who's gonna take
the last shot? And my answer is easy, whoever Lebron
(10:41):
passes it to, because he's gonna have the ball in
his hands and he's gonna create, and he's gonna either
see Maxie or Brown, maybe even in bead and that's
where it's gonna go.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
But that's the beauty of it, right, is you do
have all of these you know, folks say there's only
one basketball. That's fine, cuz they're not going to play
eighty two games together during the regular season. Okay, let's
just cancel that. Indeed, it's the how can you be
judicious with his minutes and for all the incoming he
takes the fact that the guys had a career like

he has given the start. I think I'll take his life.
I think I'll take his resolve and the fact that
he's busted his ass to be on the court given
what started with his feet, right, I mean, all those
years I was like, is this guy ever gonna see
the court?

Yeah, yeah, he might, he might, We don't know. But
here we are, all these years later. I mean, you
add Edgecomb to the mix. Uh, you bring in KCP,
maybe a little diminished but still a good role guy.
Like there's there's just so much to like about it.
And the Knicks coming off of this this run now,
they were helped by the fact that they didn't meet

nearly as much resistance the Cavaliers quit. I mean, we
can just call that what it is. I'm usually loath
to use that term when it comes to professional athletes
and sporting of events. You could watch the will leave
their body, you know, that's that way. It just stole there.

It was like that. It was like a puff of
white smoke. There's soul just kind of left.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Yeah, it's straight out of Raiders of the Lost Dark, right,
I mean, that guy just melted. It's a final, but
it's just the idea with the Sixers squad and for
Lebron James. Look, I'm a Jordan guy, I'm a Southside
Chicago and I live and die by it. But so
long as we have story lunch, and so long as
he keeps playing, I don't feel so old. That's first Anthony.

But the second thing to it all is everybody wants
to rip the jerseys off these guys backs. I don't
care if you're nineteen seventy three Willie Mays, if you
can still put asses in seats, bring people to the TV.
I mean, Adam Silver was crying that he needed to
do the television schedule for crying out loud. So for

Lebron James, the fact that you wield that much power
and yes didn't get old here in Los Angeles, Yes,
because it was Lebron watch incessantly. What this next chapter
is mighty interesting, particularly now that the Knicks of the
darling of the sporting world, at least for a minute.

Yeah, man, it's it's the one thing about that league.
It's amazing, right, we love the sport, you know, Listen,
I started with Jordan's at the end of Mike's career
in Chicago was when I started writing about sports. And

so I was in Chicago and you know, walk through
Gate three and a half at the old Chicago Stadium
and loved every second of it and that and I
watched it from that moment to what it is now,
Like Mike would play forty four minutes in the regular
season every game, right, and I watch it now and

I mean, just folks can bemoan the eight champions in
eight years. One of the things you always have to
instill is hope for your squad, right that's somewhere along
the line, whether it's a new GM or the old

for you, that you're gonna draft the right guy that
someone's gonna want to come to your town. Are there
places that are exile, Yes, and we see that in
every sport, but to where these playoff runs are just
insanely entertaining each and every year. And the Knicks with
a fifty three year drought, now they I mean, I

gotta go back to full four four. I mean, come on,
let's go. I mean, why not us?

It's funny you said that because that's kind of the

Knicks didn't win, Lebronson is in New York right like

That's it, you know, much to my mom's chagrin. I

did the basketball side of things and the excitement and
everybody busting out the jerseys of all those sixers of
the past and walking up and down, walking walking down
the street and taking over. And then we look at
the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East and another year

of changes in the coaching realm Jalen Hurts, you know,
always the guy people like to watch him play until
they don't in Philadelphia. Is did that echo and reflect
what the national narrative is?
Speaker 4 (19:56):
Is he more beloved or is it still as vexing?
Speaker 5 (20:01):
I think for the most part he is absolutely beloved.
Speaker 6 (20:06):
They remember he brought a Super Bowl, right, so you know,
the fact is he went to one and one another.
And I think most fans have they're an incredibly loyal
fan base when you win, and most fans they just
hate all the rankings and the fact that they see
(20:27):
him and they're you know, he's seventeen in this list
and nineteen in that list, and so they blanche at
that and they don't understand it.
Speaker 5 (20:36):
Look, I think.
Speaker 6 (20:37):
Jalen comes with his flaws, but he's an incredible winner.
I think his biggest gene, he's got the winning gene.
He knows how to He may not be six four
and could throw dimes, but he throws a really nice
deep ball. He's got a great feel for the game,
you know, he's always always had that. He's a coach's
(21:00):
kid Alabama, Oklahoma.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
He will He's a hard worker, wants to win.
Speaker 6 (21:08):
And I think this is a fascinating time for Jalen
Hurts because Mike this is it like his contract it's
up after next year, right, so this is when you
start talking about extension. The Eagles are have a dramatic
new offense. Sean Mannion comes in from the Packers and
they're gonna run this. You know, Ben Johnson, this uh
(21:33):
you know under center offense, play action, they're going to
roll the pocket there He's gonna have to make you know, uh,
different reads, different progressions, and it's it's a change, right.
You know, he's so used to running the spread. He's
in shotgun.
Speaker 5 (21:52):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (21:52):
You know for years when he was really good, it
was the RPO offense, right and because he had such
great legs, great ability, he was dangerous. But last year
you saw it, Like God, listen, I don't care if
we saw Lamar last year. At some point you got
to become a pocket guy. That's just how the league works.
Like you lose half a step, you got to be
(22:14):
a pocket guy. So the evolution of this offense, so
it comes Manion and to run this offense and Hurts
has been great, man like this whole you know from
Minnie camp On. I think aj Brown leaving has has
gave him a little breath. He seems a lot more.
He seems a lot happier. He seems a lot more
(22:37):
like engaged with everybody. And I know he's taken it serious,
like he's putting a lot of work into it. You know,
he was saying the other day, you know he's trying
to relearn this position from under center, like he's working
on throne with his feet and you know quarterbacks right
like everything's your feet, Like he didn't last year. His
(22:58):
three step drop two and a half steps. His five
step drop was five and a half steps. The minute
there was a pressure, he bolted from the pocket and
and you know, I think you frustrated you a line
a little bit. I think the OC was a train wreck.
So all that conspire to a really bad offensive year
for them, including Saquon this year, it's it feels like,
(23:23):
you know, he wants to kind of reinvent himself.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
Yeah, as you.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
Look at the roster as assembled, and I always wonder
with number one receivers, I don't want to use the
diva tag, but let's call it what it is. A
lot of the oxygen gets sucked out of the room
because you feel like you need to force the ball
there even if it's not there. Because they're chirping in
your ear fan, you're hearing it from the fans, You're
(23:46):
hearing it from every fantasy football owners and folks will
dismiss it, the gamblers. All of that cacophony of voices
becomes a very large thing. So sometimes you end up
squeezing a little tighter and try to make a throw
that isn't there. So part of that is just being
judicious and recognizing, hey, you may have to wear it
from that guy, but that guy's not there anymore.
Speaker 7 (24:09):

Speaker 3 (24:09):
Brown is gone, and you look around the league and
you can point here, point there, whatever, you know, you're
talking about the work in the pocket. That's one of
the Caleb Williams, you know, points of emphasis in year two.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
All right, be more resolved.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
In how you're moving in the influid in the pocket,
but recognize when you need to check down.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
You don't need to extend everything.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
And certainly Kalen Hurts has taking a ton of hits
to where that's added up. Right.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
He's young, He's not young, exactly.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (24:38):
A lot of pounded man, Well, dudes get pounded like that,
you're just gonna lose a step you were lose. And
he also half a step last year. He was not
He did not have that burst that he that he
usually had. What's allowed him to run away from trouble
and the idea like what Ben Johnson's talking about, which
is going to add years on the on the other
side of Caleb's career, which step it up in the
(25:01):
pocket right, not just bouncing it out the minute you
see any kind of trouble, you're gonna bounce it out wide,
step up, slide step, you know that what like the
masterful of Brady's feet, go back to wh like I
love quarterback play right watching him play quarterback and the
(25:22):
subtle movements, the subtle step to the right, right, the
subtle duck under and move up into the pocket. That's
all the stuff that that Jalen's now going to be,
you know, kind of working.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
With blessed to do it last fall. Hopefully we get
it back together again. But every Sunday morning, I got
to have a nice extended two hour chat with Greg
Cosel here on Radio right, and a lot of what
we were talking about when it comes to Williams and
Jalen Hurts and a handful of quarterbacks that stood out
(25:54):
to him in this regard was the recognizing what's real
pressure versus perceived in terms of your own acceleration of
moving up into the pocket before you need to, and
they're thereby closing your outs. You can't escape and extend
plays anymore because you've gotten into no man's land around
the big guys. Uh, and you're not throwing over the
(26:17):
big guys, right, so you.
Speaker 6 (26:19):
All right, Like Jaylen, who's a little on the side,
isn't going to do that. You know, Brady with that
stature could do that, sure, but Jaleen is not going
to do it. And Greg's right, like listen, he sees
the tape. I go over to the NFL films we were,
I'm thirty minutes away from there, so like I'm there
all the time.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Make sure to bring him a celebration cupcake, yeah, from
Barnes and Noble.
Speaker 6 (26:41):
Yeah, he's the best, and it's the truth like that
stuff like that doesn't lie. Like when you're looking at
that tape and you see it and you know, now
the difference with Caleb is like he's just his arm
talent is reticent.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
It's off the charts, yeah, right, Like it's insane.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
That's why he's specially can.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
Be with Luther Burden and if a Dona takes that
next step, Award Loveland scraping across the middle and Crease,
I love that chaos, right, So now there's a lot,
there's a lot to like, and I try not to
try to be the voice of reason as much as
the fans.
Speaker 6 (27:19):
But dude, you gotta love that. I love Caleb the
like again, the arm talent. Forget about forgive the mobility stuff.
His arm talent. That's what, truthfully, that's what. That's why
Jalen hurts his rank where he is now. I think
he's ranked too low. But you know again, you know,
(27:42):
but with with those people when they rank him like that,
you see, uh j you see like Caleb's arm. You
see Jaden Daniel's arm right like you see those that
you see that arm talent and it's just different. Ball
comes out different, it sounds different, you know, it's just
a little different.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
So have you learned any voting voted candles for mckuy lemon.
Speaker 5 (28:06):
Yet, Dude, he has not.
Speaker 6 (28:10):
He was on soft tissue Hammy and Minnie camp and
still that way. Now he's you know again it's early,
but it's not early, right.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
Like, no, it's not trending well no.
Speaker 6 (28:24):
No, And I mean the kid's a baller. I love
him at SC He's got a great attitude. But you
know he needs work, right, like, he needs a lot
of work. And this whole offense is good. There's gonna
be a lot of ups and downs with that offense,
because you know it's all they're installed.
Speaker 5 (28:43):
It's going to be dramatically different.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
Well, and with all of that, Anthony, the thing that
stands out to me is your bookends where they're at
in their respective careers. When we talk about my Alotta
and Johnson at you want to talk about Trent on the.
Speaker 5 (28:58):
Tires, Well, yeah, I mean Lane, you know, and they
need Lane.
Speaker 6 (29:04):
Right like, no, exactly right, Like Lane's been there, guy,
Hall of Famer, one of the best. I'm a big
Lane Johnson guy uh gentleman, one of the best, and
may a lot is eas in his prime.
Speaker 5 (29:16):
But Lane Johnson, you know, is important.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
He's miss camp last few days with a personal thing,
but he'll be back. You're right that they need those tackles.
The good thing for them is that two things. One,
their defense is going to be special. Their defense is scary.
It's scary good. And I think that division is a

two team division. I think it comes down to the
Cowboys and Eagles.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Okay, you're not buying into everybody's Like we talked about
the Saints last hour, the sexiness of the commanders.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
No, okay, no, no, I mean because you got Stefan Diggs.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
Wow, it was before Digs folks were starting to get
on board that bandwagon.

I'm a big Daniels fan. I don't like the rest
of that team.

I don't know.

I don't think. Yeah, I don't think the roster's there.

I think they failed. I love Daniels. I think Daniels
is again. If he stays healthy, he's terrific. He makes
every throw, He's smart. His the way his progressions are incredible,
how quickly he reads stuff right, he processes things so quick.

But I hate their roster.

I thought they got old, they got slow, they got
rid of their speed.
Speaker 5 (30:38):
I look at their run game. You like that run game?
Speaker 3 (30:41):
I don't Bill krossky merrit don't call him Jacory. And
they brought in Rashad White. Yeah yeah, the answer is
uh no no. And then k Tron Allen was a
sixth round pick that might might break through a little bit.
But yeah, no, that certainly doesn't scare you. The conco
is good, not great. Mclaurin's good, Diggs, what are you

getting game in, game out? And then you got McCaffrey
and a couple of guys that you're wishing, wanting, hope
and breakthrough where they didn't for teams past. Yeah, I
mean again, it's the I love Daniels and what he
could be and all of the good things that we
saw in twenty four. I think that's fool's goal thinking

you're getting that again.

Yeah. Yeah, I don't say my condolences, brother. The White
Sox has lost twelve eleven.

Yeah, Larry La who pitched it forever in my he's
the color analyst for the Phillies. So the but he

play by play, and it was funny. There was times
where I was thinking, because I know, Scott Franski's the
other guy who's there play by play guy, and I'm
trying to get the Scott's head going, all right, dude,

like you know, you could just take the like your pedal,
your foot off the gas is a little bit all right,
like with the voice.

But he was God bless him. I mean, you know,
I mean, I'm sure like that made his life.
Speaker 3 (37:27):
No, but that's just it, right, a guy who's been
I guess doing Little League and all around the area.

Doing a ton of that. People were posting clips.

Uh, naturally we all start going substitute teacher, I need
that gig, right, twenty two gay doing any of Phillies baseball.
But yeah, I'm my apologies for for not distinguishing between
their voices. I thought he just drifted an octave and
got to do a live read while he was.
