ty shirt. What's the name of the band that sings
this song? Oh gosh, this has to be m Who's
uh Lenny Skinner play on? Who Leny Lenny Lenny SKINNERD. Yeah, Oh,
it's it's his own thing, Leonard SKINNERD.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Yeah? I thought it was a band. No, no, no,
it's one guy like Lenny and then Travis SKINNERD or
something like that. No, it's Lenny sk Lenny Skinnard is
his name, and he plays all the instruments in the band. Okay,
then I'm gonna guess Leny Kravitz is this one? It
is Lenny Kravitz, is it?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Yeah, yeah yeah? Because this they use this in Hunger Games. Yes, right, exactly,
here's my question. No one ever seemed hungry in the
game though, Well, you were hungry to survive and then
he played twisted Sisters.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
Stay hungry for that. Now there's a restaurant I go
to in Clearwater. I'm showing Jason Neal Hojo here and
it's Lenny's and it's well greasy looking, dude, not quite
from the Lenny and Squiggy.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Clear Water or just clear Water clear Water Clares Clearwater Clares,
Clearwater Clares clear Water.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (01:27):
You like that? Uh little Clarence Carter reference.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Did the Mets lose last week? Did the Mets lose
last year? Did the Mets lose every day of the year?
Say it, I'll be losing, dude.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
How many strikes did mart You know? Let me tell
you this. You want a Bowl prediction that's not really
that is, but it is absolutely coming true.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
He's fired for striking out to end the game.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Of all the pole predictions I made, I guarantee you
this one, uh Starling Marte will be the next guy
whose contract Steve Cohen eats and trade them away. Because
when you're talking about trading Verland Schurezer, it's a bigger
thing because these guys are due the rest of a
thirty million dollar contract this year with thirty five million dollars.
That's also because nobody wants them, right, No, they would
(02:12):
want them. Nobody wants they would want them. There's no
market for that. No, No, there's a market if he
eats all the money and he doesn't care about the market.
For sure, there is teams to take Surezer in a second.
If you don't leave, I'm not paying them. Yeah, Verlander,
who's taking Verlander? Verlander's a tougher seal, but sure has
lost a game in them.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
To think the suser thing, it's more of the size
of that contract. Sure you can get out of that
last year or two of that, Yeah, then you might
feel better out.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yeah, Like Steve Cohen could say, listen, hey, here's Max Schurzer.
You have the rest of this year. Next year he's due.
We're gonna eat the rest of this year and then
twenty million of next year. So you're paying fifteen million
for okay, great, and then you get a couple of
prospects for him. So that trade is there. But the
Marte trade easy. I mean you watch him tonight. I
mean seriously, he just waves it, pitches he has Sometimes
I walk up and I go, what is he doing.
(02:58):
Does he even have a plan. I'm just gonna wave
whatever pitch is out there. There's video virally making the
rounds of a woman yelling don't swing at everything before
he comes up with the tonight, and he swung the
truck out on three pitches.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
At least he tried. He is the next guy stood
there with the bat on his shoulder.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
He is the next guy getting traded because the Mets
can figure out his position. Market for Starling Martin, sure
there is if again, Steve Cohen says, I will pick
up the money. Someone's gonna want who's doing that? Someone's
gonna want Marte. Hey, look the Mets got got the
Angels to take Escobar, and they got the prospects nineteen
and twenty. Yeah, I think they can trade Starling Marte.
He's better than the water of Escobar. He's just he's
(03:38):
just cooked barely. He's just cooked barely. He's absolutely cooked.
He's got he's got twenty one stolen bases. The guy,
the guy's the guy right name and the other Marte
and Escobar did even less, and the Mets still got
something telling you he's gonna eat the money and get.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Prospects and Angels. On Saturday, they beat the hell out
of the Rockies and then brought in Mike Mustakis. I
didn't know the Moose was still playing. Loose was loose.
Everybody the Mets have is gonna be like legitimately, he's
a guy. He's hitting seventy two four home runs eighteen RBI.
But he got he got acquired. So if the price
(04:16):
is right, he's gonna find a partner. I know you
guys give the Angels everybody that way. Tony's for sure
also ought to see that if we do go fully
into this mode, it's got to be like a reality series,
like a series of if you call us now, let's negotiate.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
On air, Hard knocks base.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
Yeah, let's make it a whole other way. Here's what
you need to do. You wear a crazy costume. Wayne
Brady shows up and we get active Brady.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
We have to get the Padres in on this too,
because the Padres actually players. They have better players who
were younger that you could get a better return. It's
better who's better on that team? Oh well, to tease
is better? Yes, then anybody the Mets have that they're
gonna trade. Sure, and his numbers don't show it to Yeah,
but he's still twenty three years old. You know, he's
still somebody that are way behind him. You have Sodo,
(05:06):
You have a bunch of guys that you're paying. You
got Machado, You get a bunch of guys you're paying.
So telling you man, Mets and Padres. The Mets and
Padres are gonna fist fight for who can I know,
we need to trade our high priced guys first. It'll
be like the Anchorman fight when the Mets are just
suddenly gets surrounded and the Padres are all riding their
bicycles and they're all three touching their face. That's what
(05:30):
it's gonna look like that they're riding around on ten speeds.
He's gonna have the white pants like Vince Vaughan. Hey,
guys doing there. That's what it's gonna be. Mets and
the Padres. Who can trade there? This trade deadline is
gonna be fun. I mean, there's not very many sellers,
the Mets and the Padres. Yeah, yeah, there, you're big
(05:51):
sellers there. You're big sellers because they couldn't figure out
the new, the new major League Baseball, and they just
said we're gonna throw a bunch of guys out there
and try to win, and you see, sometimes that doesn't work.
That stupid as strategy doesn't work. Have there ever been
more underachieving teams the first half of the season than
the Mets and Padres? Ever, oh, with the money they're paying,
Not with this kind of money, are you kidding? His history,
There's been other teams where you could say, boy, they're
(06:13):
really disappointing, but not the teams that went all in
and spent all kinds of money on this. Even the
Rangers went and spent money and they got it. The
Rangers never get anything, not even playing one of the
guys you paid a lot of money to. And all
of this. Every time I see the Rangers, Ranger fans
all say the same thing to me. And all this
without de Gram, Yes, I know, all this without Derid,
(06:34):
He's never gonna bitch again. For the non Rangers, not
among us, not happening, or people who invested in d
Grom rookie cards, or Mets fans that are like, well,
at least we get we don't have any of those
guys from the rotation of years ago still hanging out here.
They might not have known de Grom was there. No, no, no,
the people are gonna go. Is he still playing? He's
gonna be out through all of next Ye the Mets
(06:55):
wish they still had him? No, they don't. Why so
we cannot be pitching be at least, dude, think about this.
Of all the horrible mistakes the Mets made, all the
horrible stakes, this Surezer Verlin, all these guys, they could
also have been on the hook for de Gram. Yeah,
Carlos Korea by hey, hey, his day is coming up.
(07:17):
His day is coming up, So you guy. I think
about some of those guys like, oh boy, we got lucky.
We got lucky on that one. I'm lucky on that
one too. All right, that's need to pay us to
wear those hats. I have to pay man? Watch out?
Uh Twitter, and how about a Fresca Mike get swollen

have been worse. You make a lot of.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
Moods, you're bound to.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Yeah, make a couple of mistakes, yeah, or all mistakes?
Are all of them?
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Oh that means you're due? Isn't that what people always yell?
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Noh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah they're not.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
I mean Vargas is in the lineup again for the Dodgers.
He's won for his last thirty four. That would make
him he's due, right.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Like when Krusty bet on the on the Washington Generals,
then they would doe.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
He's probably do more for getting sent down to the
minor leagues. But that's a whole other conversation for another time.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
But let me tell you something. Yeah, the Frostburg's gonna
hate this. You know who is getting set to do
something really big and is being really smart right now.
Two things you would never say about this team. Two
things would never say. They're gonna do something really big
and they're being really smart right now. The Lakers, watch out.
(08:44):
Everything around them is surrounding players who want to go there,
because the Lakers have become a destination after getting to
the Western Conference Finals. Yes, you get swept by the Nuggets,
but the Nuggets won the NBA title. Yeah, okay, a
little bit of a little little bit of seasoning for
the Lakers and a couple of additions, and yeah, maybe
the Lakers get over the top. You have a Lebron
(09:06):
James who bought back in a d You're gonna bring
back Hot Schamorra, You're gonna You're gonna bring back Austin Rees.
You're gonna do all of these things. But everything you
see every day are all players who are linked to
the Lakers. Today, the big story was Bruce Brown, right,
could leave the Nuggets, you would really hurt the defending champions.
Bring somebody who if he hits threes like he did
(09:27):
during the season, he could be a really big threat. Right.
Every day you see guys Aaron Gordon's another one. Hey,
maybe he just takes less money and comes across the
hall to the Lakers. The Lakers have become a destination again.
And what they've done by extending their qualifying offers to
Hatchamorra and Reeves is they've given themselves flexibility. They are
keeping their options open and they can do anything they
(09:49):
want to. They can make a run of Chris Middleton
if they want to go get a guy. Hey, you know,
we can do something and package a couple of players
and go we can dangle D'Angelo Russeller trade talk. Suddenly
the Lakers have assets, they have players that have value
to them and players around the league. I'm telling you
the Lakers being this destination, they're getting set to do
something really, really big. Could be a shocker sign and
(10:10):
trade with some of the guys you're not thinking about. Well,
we have to be able to move Russell. We had
to move him, we had to pair him up with
Austin Reeves. But this allows us to go get whatever
it winds up being. They're going to go for it
in a large way because they have to. They have
seen that. Now, Hey, this past year was a surprise.
It was found money for them. Hey, getting into the playoffs,
(10:32):
winning that first round, winning the second round over Golden State.
Now the Lakers know, we can't waste any more time,
We can't waste any more of Lebron, we can't waste
more of ad. It wasn't supposed to work, but it did.
So the pressure of them to go out there to
do something is going to be immense, and they will
do it because right now everything meets you can want
to do something till you're blue in the face, But
(10:54):
if you don't have the assets to make a trade work,
you're not people that want to come play for you. You're
not going to get anybody. The Knicks have tried that
for years and now finally they're getting players who want
to go to the Knicks. The same thing is the
other way. Hey, you could, you could want to be
able to you could. Hey, you could have guys coming
in to do whatever you want. But you don't have money,
you don't have assets. You can't bring in the guys
you want. But that is a big conference for the
(11:14):
Lakers right now, is they become a destination. They don't
have a lot of salary. They are married to, and
they have players who want to come there, and players
they can go and make moves for and bring them in.
Everything is aligning for them. They're gonna do something big.
They're being really smart right now.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
Well, I mean, they did the only thing they could
do with Reeves and Hatchamura. You can't pay them what
the fair market value will be, so we put our
qualified all right, when you go sign somewhere else for
a lot of money, because you know, according to some reports.
You know, Austin Reeves is a seventy million dollar guy
in today's Oh, don't sell him short, don't solve him short.
Maybe more than that, maybe it could be one hundred
(11:49):
million dollar guys. Anyway, the point being that, you know,
when you can only give him a qualify, I'm fighting
offer of two point two and he probably gonna be it.
But you know what, you're getting a draft pick back,
not a good one. But you could say you're getting
assets back. But it's it's the conversation about the Lakers,
and you say, hey, they're realizing, well, they should have
known that that fuse was burning. Like you know when
(12:12):
we watch our old cartoons, a lot of them, which
you know, they don't get to er quite in the
same way they used to. Of uh, oh, time's running out, right.
Just take Itchy and Scratchy. Let's use the Fox property.
As you go there, what happens bad things. And that's
where we're at with with Lebron and Anthony Davis. You
know that fuse is about to enter the house. When's
(12:33):
the cablamo and when do you have you know, the
skeleton cat looking at you. That's really where we're at
and all of this and last season, you know, everybody
got all excited.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Oh wow, look at what they did.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
And it's just crazy. What a cinderellis. No, you had
Lebron James and Anthony Davis. You were expected to be good,
and guess what, you didn't wave a giant white flag
when it came to the trade deadline. You got rich
of Russell Westbrook and you made a run for it,
and the seas parted biblically to give you an opportunity
(13:07):
for a big run. Okay, that's great, but it's not
like some the necessarily the building block because those guys
are a year older, they were healthy. There was this
entire run and now we're gonna double down saying yes,
they're gonna run rough shot again through the playoffs. I
don't know that I take that bet right. If we're
gonna do that thing year after year of well, you
(13:28):
only have one year of data to say this guy
can do it, right, I get challenged. Yeah, right, Fantasy
football right now, but Caffrey should be number one. It's like, well,
I don't know he was hurt all these other years.
He's only done it one year. He is he the
best running back or is he not? But we can't
then go the other side and say, well, Anthony Davis
and Lebron James, look what they did this last run.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Really yeah, but if you did it once, if you're
bringing another talent to lessen the load on them, and hey,
we'll be ready for them. Cause look, they could take time,
they could take the first two and a half months
of the season off.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
Thing, is they really hear anymore? I think we can
do that again. Lebron did all his minutes only because
he was trying to get to the scoring record. That's
on him.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Everyone in Canton is nervous right now because this thing starts.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
Well, you are you actually going to do?
Speaker 4 (15:08):
Are you?
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Are you ramping up and doing this from a sports
book somewhere with a bunch of NFL players.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
As a matter of fact, Aaron Rodgers, never mind stop, I.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Told you signing with the Jets is gambling enough, all right,
that's enough for that.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
It pretty much is sort of like rooting for the Mets, right.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Oh you know, no, that's not a gamble. You know
what you sign up for when you.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Do it the Jets in the Mets with a combination.
There you go, three swings and you're down. Starling Marte.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
Wow, look at that just came right over the top.
He actually made contact with his bat.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Now I have to make sure I hear what.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
You have to do, is you have to go to
Ohiowake conference all by yourself just to get something to
get you through the rest of the Mets season.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
I kind of feel like the next time he does
a speech, we should go listen.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
I always feel the same, just.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
To be in the audience to see I always should
feel the same way. Oh dude, it's a downer to
be a man.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
No, no, but here's the thing. I always have to
remember what's important, and that is the Jets have Aaron Rodgers.
That's that's what's important. I gotta forget.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
About that on that because I'm sure the Jets season
will come up.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
Especially since they start with hard knocks.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Come on, let's yeah, the NFL forcing you to do
hard knocks because I'm sure Aaron Rodgers will be totally
into this. Of course.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Well, it's cameras in front of him. This is what
he wants. It's why he picked the Jets. He wants
it's gonna be fine.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
Oh yeah, it's all gonna be great. As Robert Salad goes, okay, Aeron,
are you okay?
Speaker 6 (16:55):
All right?
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Go Coco, get out of here, please please get the
camera is off of him. Yeah, the camera's off Rogers.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
I will say this, Jacole, one of the best things
for this upcoming football season is in our new studios here,
we have a camera that is fixed on us the
entire time. So on Monday and Thursday nights when they
play in primetime, you're gonna get to watch the Melttown
live and in living color.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Oh, it's gonna be like Jimmy the Greek that time
that he lost all that money on a Sunday and
he was just like switch wedding. Oh, there were many
of them. Those are the great when the Greek was
losing at half time in a bunch of games and
he was just disconfle it because like he had just
gotten off off the line with his bookie, but like
(17:42):
doubling up on all the afternoon game.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
Nun Hills.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Absolutely wait, doesn't why you play at midnight?
Speaker 2 (17:48):
No?
Speaker 1 (17:48):
That was last night?
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Duh?
Speaker 4 (17:49):
What can I do?
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Come on, come on, let need action.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Listen, It's all gonna work. We're going to the super Bowl.
It's absolutely fine. All you guys can laugh, and it's good.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
You're talking about your show is going to the super Bowl.
Like your show, you and Harriman are going to the
Super Bowl. That's what you.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
Mean, We're taking over Vegas. Of course we are all going.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Going. Yeah, you guys might be staying in Barstow, but
what the hell you're going to Vegas.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Hey, listen, at this point, the.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Jet season is going to Barstow.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
The NFL, the NFL may change a Super Bowl. If
more players keep getting busted for gambling. We can't go
back to Vegas. Now, look at all, this what a
horrible headline.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
It's a bad look. It's really a bad look for
the league that this is happening, like they just have
they have no idea how to control this, and it's
all out in the open now. So they can't ignore
it because there is there's a real issue here with
the integrity.
Speaker 5 (18:52):
Of the game.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
So they can't cover it up at all. It's going
to become way too obvious. And so all the unseen
gambling that they ignored for decades and decades and decades
now actually matters.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
Well, the hardest part, Jake Hole, with the reports, it's, look,
we know the guys are going to bet, like look,
human nature, vice, whatever, But the fact that we keep
getting me oh yeah, they did it in the facility
line of really you weren't smart enough to at least
not do that. Like that's the thing that that baffles me,
(19:25):
Like that they get bet, you know, make a bet
and make a budget.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
Don't everybody in the world just come to work and
just call their booky all the time, or you know,
make their bets online and stuff like that. Is you know, like, oh, coach, hey,
wait a second, between between practices or between meetings, can I,
you know, can I get on my computer a little bit?
Oh you know, hey, just a second here, I've got
to get online with my phone so I can place
(19:50):
a little action on this game. But the line just
moved by a point.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
Why was earlier Jason that they need to take the
uh the old signs for the smoking section, and now
he is putting this is where you can bet, and
you're courtened off.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
They I don't know what they're going to do. I
know that Rogers, but he's sitting here going, I don't
know how to handle this. He doesn't really have a
great answer other than to, you know, keep suspending guys
right and hope that hope that guys get the message. However,
and nobody ever really truly learns, you know, because they
don't pay attention, especially the guys who got suspended today.
(20:27):
Like there's not a really big star out there. So
I mean the closest thing that they've had to a
real big star players obviously Calvin Ridley, and that's already
sort of been forgotten in a lot of ways. Right,
So the only way they're really ever going to scare
all the players is like some big time players probably
going to have to take a hit for this, and
(20:49):
that'll teach guys, you know, for five, six, seven years,
and then they'll all forget about it again. But yeah,
I mean, the cats out of the bag here. Guys
are gambling, just like everybody in public is gambling, and
the NFL has no real answer other than they're scared
out of their minds. One thousand percent. They're scared out
(21:09):
of their minds about finding out that somebody has either
inside information or is betting on one of their own teams.
Like that is the thing that scares the NFL more
than any single thing.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Well, and here's here's a part of that is that
something that could have already happened and we just don't
know about it because the NFL. We know, the NFL
does great stuff covering stuff up, Like I wouldn't be
surprised if in a few years we find and oh, yeah,
yeah that happened, because you know, if the NFL doesn't
want something to get out, it doesn't get out.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
Well yeah, I mean, and that's I mean, you kind
of asked an impossible question. I think I would hope.
I would hope that the players would have enough common
sense not to bet on their own team. I would
hope that they would not. You know, I would hope
that the league's connection to the gambling business would tell them, hey, look,
(22:07):
we got to make sure that this doesn't happen. So
you know, we'll look the other way on all this
other stuff, but you've got to help us out, you know,
gambling world, if we're going to do business with you, you
have to make sure that we know if this gets
out there, and it's like I was talking with another show.
You know, you know that guys like Billy Walters are
out there waiting to find find out information. Sure, so
(22:31):
they're you know, they're paying anybody and everybody as much
as they possibly can to get inside information. And if
it happens to start among the players. That's are real.
That's such an enormous problem.

that great. Pick it up. That's the new one. Baby.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Yeah, it's a good reason, quick said.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
I'm sending him to Baby Gronk's dad.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
Well, Real Gronk told him to beat it. He was
contacted more than five hundred times, so before this even
became a thing. J Cole Gronk had already told his brothers. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
tell her you aready told you.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
To go away.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
Dad is Frostburg to do an interview.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
I'm I'm surprised you guys haven't had Baby Gronk on already.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
No, No, it's too show of integrity and that I mean,
I would not I would not take the sanctity of.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Microphone, this show, this show, and the word integrity. Serious talk.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Hey dude, this interview we're doing right now is borderline.
We're not going to do another one like it.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Well, that's my whole point. Like, you know, you got
meet me on how many times? And you're worried about integrity.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
Hey, you're a haul of very good voter.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
You are you over You got none of those cowboys
that we're looking for.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
It's all fame, all fame. You've overall came.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
Not the way you've been voting. It's not okay. You've
also overthrown two people running the Hall of Fame, and
now you're looking at the third.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Yeah, Baker down Porter, Porter's next?
Speaker 4 (24:13):
All right, speaking you guys, getting over run Steve Barry.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
I ran Steve Berry off the road. Pal on that
on that highway from Cleveland to ken gone, baby, well
he should.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Have been gone. Very nice, Mike, very thank you, thank
you very much.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Yeah, very well played.
Speaker 5 (24:30):
Who's Who's Lloyd Howelling?
Speaker 4 (24:32):
And will Roger Goodell defeat him as frequently as he
did to Mort Smith as executive director the NFL.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
I'll tell you this, plenty of players want to know
the answer to that question.
Speaker 5 (24:45):
Who's it? Second drop play on the show?
Speaker 1 (24:49):
Who is it?
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Who heard of him? Who down running our union? That's right,
that's what the That's what a lot of guys are
saying right now, Like, I think the man has an
incredibly impressive resume, and he's obviously an incredibly bright man
in NBA from Harvard thirty four years, very high level
(25:10):
corporate guy. He has not one minute of experience with
the NFL, not one minute. Nobody in the league knows
who this guy is.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
And I don't I hesitate to criticize this move because
the criticism comes off as a rip at Lloyd Howe,
and it's not because, again.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
We're talking about a very accomplished man. But the players
don't understand what their business is. Their business is about football,
and this is the thing that they miss all the time.
Since nineteen forty one, there have been five NFL commissioners, right,
(25:57):
five in eighty plus years. Right, every single one of
those Mets who worked as the commissioner of the NFL
worked in football as a coach or an owner. You know,
Burt Bell was a coach and an owner, or as
a GM or PR guy like Pete Roselle, was a
(26:18):
league attorney, or spent their entire career like Roger Goodell. Okay,
in the league office. Those guys understand the football business
and the players. For the last fifteen years, and now
for however long Lloyd Howell is, you know, in this position,
(26:41):
have been led by guys who are complete outsiders, who
don't understand the business, who don't even know what the
priority among players is when it comes to things as
simple as safety, like because they didn't play. So I
just always look at this and say, guys, you need
hire and you don't necessarily have to hire a player.
(27:02):
I get that, but you have to know, hire somebody
who knows your business, who knows what to do, who
understands the value, who knows who the media people are
in your business, who you know has institutional Now. I
mean I just go on and on. I know fans
don't care, but the players just they just don't get it.
(27:25):
And they're going to get talking with another writer last night,
and we were just talking about how all the rhetorics
that the NFL put out in twenty eleven about how
much they weren't making enough money in this and matter.
It's like they're going to track the same rhetoric in
twenty thirty in advance of that negotiation, and they're just
going to take those guys for a ride again. They're
(27:45):
going to take like five or six points from those guys.
Then it's going to be another bloodvest economically for the players.
Speaker 1 (27:51):

Think they'd be a house band for a show when
they're coming through town to be a house band, I don't.
I mean we got room in that corner.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
We probably do have room, and I probably have about
fifty bucks the weekend spend and we can pay them.
Are they sorry?
Speaker 4 (29:10):
I was flipping channels in the famous King of Queen's
episode where they they win, but they don't want Kerrie
and and I forget Deacon's wife's name Kelly to find
out that they won, so they end up hiring any Money.
Oh yeah, okay, hangouts.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
He was shaking too soon on any Money, man, Why
do you have to bring.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
I'm celebrating his canoys. No, you always have to be.
It was Jermaine to the show.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
Joe Germaine was not mentioned on the show. Yeah, not happened.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
Show ain't over yet.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Dodgers now have an eight to three lead over the Rockies.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
J D.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Martinez goes deep again. He's got nineteen home runs now
for the Dodgers. Yeah. I don't think I had JD.
Martinez being the best free agent side in baseball this year,
but here we are, and he's an All Star and
they've needed every bit of it this season. Man, I'll
tell you again, a three Dodger with the Lee Bloff.
(30:08):
More baseball coming up a bit, but hey, we're getting ready,
We're we're getting ready for training camps. NFL Hot take
theater coming your way. Are you ready, NFL hot take
theater back?
Speaker 5 (30:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (30:19):
All right? My breakout quarterback, breakout quarter twenty three. Okay,
will be Aaron no My breakout quarterback in twenty twenty three.
Sam Howell, Sam Sam Howell. Look, he's got all the tools.
(30:39):
Once upon a time he could have been the number
one overall pick in the draft.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
I remember the notes, the notes you would send talking
all he just out the hype. But now we watched
him be terrible on Thursday night.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
He just he just didn't slide. He just he freak
fell out, like.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
You know, you know that thing from Tom Cruise that
they keep showing.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
That what.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Look, he's got a strong arm, he's accurate, but he
is incredibly talented. He was able to take last year
learn outside of the spotlight. Washington's done the right things.
If he wasn't the guy, they would have made a move.
Sam Howell has the pedigree, he's got the talent, He's
had a year to get ready. He's gonna beat. He's
my big breakout for twenty twenty three.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
I think I'm curious there is that you do have
some weapons in the receiving game, right mclaurin's been fantastic,
Dotson expecting to step up, and Curtis Samuel went healthy.
Functional number three. You have two guys in the backfield,
Robinson and Antonio Gibson and Logan Thomas. We'll see can
he stay healthy? Right when he's healthy, he's a he's
(31:45):
a difference maker at the position. I kinda I kind
of dig that about you. That is that is a
fun breakthrough kind of circumstance. I go back to what
I was saying last night when you were trying to
pitch the Bears. I think Jordan Love's gonna support Thank you, Chef,
Thank you chef. Oh you said the not the Bear,
got it? Okay, it's good to see Richie. Thank You're
trending everywhere.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
I scared.
Speaker 4 (32:05):
I scared my daughters and now they're forced to watch
season two of The Bear because of a meme I
sent them about the chef because they have no idea
what it meant. Like this guy keeps showing up in
my timeline.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Oh he's great, He's awesome in this he is outstanding.
But since we are Swifties, it all makes sense. No,
I'm gonna take Jordan Love like I think there's just
a lot being really people are trying to shovel dirt
what I never dug a hole before kind of thing
with him and say it, there's a huge drop off.
There's all this like I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
I don't think the divisions is good as folks are
going to try to make it and that suddenly they're
gonna fall off a cliff because Rogers isn't there. I
think you take a lot of that angst, a lot
of that energy out of the building and the ayahuasca
and whatever else. Yeah, he's got going on that that created,
uh this, You had a guy that sat and learned
(32:57):
trial by fire, was every day at practic with that
guy staring you down. I think he's gonna be just fine.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
Yeah, and they're not. And I'm he's going to be fine,
but he's not going to be crazy as far as
stats and touchdowns because it's going to be a different team.
They're gonna use his legs. They've got both running backs back.
They've been building to build this sledgehammer type San Francisco
forty nine ers type offense where hey, we're not relying
on our quarterback to throw the ball forty five times
(33:24):
a game anymore. They don't want. If they wanted that,
they would have kept Aaron Rodgers. So he will be
fine because he will be able to pilot the offense.
He'll make plays when he needs to. They're gonna de
fall to the running game. It's gonna be a much
different Green Bay Packers team this year. No, I agree
with you. I like I like love. People might say, oh,
he's all we should be doing more. If they're doing
all right and he's winning games, not turning the football over,
(33:45):
he'll be okay. It'll be a different offense.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
I know why you also did your breakthrough guy to
be Sam Howe, Why you have an infatuation with guy's
name Sam.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
I want to be able to say Sam Sam Sam,
Love Sam Sam.
Speaker 4 (33:57):
That's truly what it comes down to, Sam Sam. You're
still sad Sam Darnold didn't work out, and when he's
winning games for the forty nine ers, it is going
to make you salties out. That's that's not that's not
I'm not worried about that at all. Not Sam Sam
Sam coming up.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
Maybe it's me we have Maybe it's a potential free
agent story out of the NBA. Fox
