Warriors down fifteen. If they want to force this to
a game six where maybe they got Steph Curry.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Back, but more now they're trying to extend it to Wardell.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
But before we go, I gotta say this because I
know people. Okay, an hour's gone by I know he's
gonna lose his mind. I know he's gonna be mad
about the Knicks lost tonight. And I am fine, Okay.
I told you last night a couple of times I
expected this result. This is gonna be one of those
get back games for the Celtics. The Knicks are gonna
come in and they're gonna play it kind of halfway
(01:27):
and they're gonna say, well, if it's there for us
in the fourth quarter, we'll go forward. If not, we're
more than happy going back to MSG and to try
to close this out. I knew the game was going
to be officiated the way it did. Tony Brothers out
there making sure we get to six games. Look, Jalen
Brunson's fouled out a one game all year. In the
closing game, Jalen Brunson fouls out and doesn't foul out
(01:49):
like with you know, in the final minute, fouls out
like midway through the fourth quarter, Karl Anthony Townsend foul
trouble most of the game. I'm not mad, trust me,
I am not mad. I expected this. This is how
the NBA were a little sad though that you expect
a certain way of officiating in a game. This is
how the NBA goes, right, this is how it goes
But look, this is this is how it's going. And
(02:10):
I completely expected this. I am good and I'll see
you Friday. I'm ready for Friday night. I'm planning the
big party for Friday night. I'm ready to go.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
I enjoy the continued badgering at the officials. May may
you get fined fifty grand like Draymond Green for you know,
calling them out just so flagrantly.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Well, Draymond Green kind of called it out by, you know,
saying it wasn't just hey, the officials aren't doing a
great job. Well, he ket on a little overboard. You
just know what the spread was.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
And then you have to decide was he trying to
tell his guys to score to beat the spread or
was he going at the officials saying they knew what
was going on.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
I'll let you decide.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Hey, get a shot up and see if we can
screw this up.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
All that to say, why can't it be both?
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (02:57):
That's like, can't it be both? Both?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Can certainly be true? And that would be my argument
if I were to appeal it as if I'm Draymond Green.
Although I got to think at this point, between his
podcast and other appearances, it's been worth more than.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Fifty grand to him.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
But all of that because he can get someone to
sponsor his podcast, you know, go from there.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
But Tony Brothers as my guest on today's podcast, Tony,
but you.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Go back through and unfortunately we don't get a forty
eight minute report from the officials to say how we
did or didn't do in terms of calling. They let
a lot of a lot of physicality go down low
on both sides. A couple of Brunson's falls were just
I'm tired, I'm reaching. Maybe I get the call and
I can argue that I hit the ball when I
(03:42):
know I got all of that guy's forearm. But look,
I don't fault too good efforts, right, a good strategy.
Unfortunately he got got and he falls out midway through
the fourth great first half, right hotly contested first half,
and then it just got away and it just kept sinking.
So the fact that you're keeping yourself on even keel
or really you've honed your skills as an actor living
(04:05):
here and maybe that's what you do during your day
is I don't know, I don't I don't track you.
I don't think you're wearing an ankle monitor for any
of the shenanigans as a teenager. So maybe you're becoming
a master heylot out here.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
A mailboxing I was in my early twenties. Okay, so
you know that's I.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Didn't really limits, buddy, I didn't really start I didn't
start feeling that like, hey.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
All right, I'm in my twenties now.
Speaker 5 (04:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
You So what you're saying is a couple of weeks
ago when you were yelling at the twenty one year
old for prank calls, you're really feeling like he was
a kindred spirit on driving.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Well, I could see see. Here's the thing is, I
can see where that's funny. I can see where it's
not funny. If boy, you stole the number from your
dad who happened to be an NFL coach, that uh,
you know was going to get caught because they figure
things like this out because you live in a CSI
n cis true crime, so where everything gets found out,
(05:02):
there's there's there's different levels of making prike calls.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Okay, man, this is not the Bart Simpson style here.
There's more tracing.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Is there an alcoholic kid. Listen, I'm gonna cutch you
belly open kit. Nicely done.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
There you go, But we got problems with the demon
alcohol and violent threats.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Where I am. I'm absolutely fine the next again, I'll
see on Friday. Everything is good and all the pacers
are getting rest. Yeah, that's great.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
You know what, I do have one one note that
comes through. This is from bet MGM for their Twitter account.
In this series, when the Mets win, the Knicks win,
playing on the same day, right, But when the Mets
lose as they did tonight, yeahs also lose and you've
got the Yankees this weekend.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yeah no, just big series. So all of a sudden
A yeah, all of a sudden. If I'm a Knicks fan,
maybe I'm gripping a little bit. Yeah, but looking at
old number ninety, I going you're gonna screw me on
both surfaces because because what you're saying is now, the
Yankees win today, the Knicks lose. Like a Yankee win
means a Knicks loss. So it's really double that. I
(06:12):
can't back I can't back into win by saying yeah,
but when the Yankees winning, the Knicks win to no, no, no,
what you're telling me, is that okay?
Speaker 3 (06:19):
All right?
Speaker 2 (06:19):
So yeah, this is it's all Mets related, that's on,
that's right. Yeah, And the Mets can't get swept, okay.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
All right, all right. I guess they could lose Saturday,
but you get well, they could lose Friday Saturdays and
win Monday. I mean there, you know there's that too.
I mean, I want no part of a game seven
a TV Guarden, I don't want any of that. But
I mean, I.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Mean Cornett will be playing out of his mind again.
Are you kidding me?
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Louke Cornett? Tonight was a Louke Cornett game. Right. I'm
gonna go back through.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Us and trading nine after we get off tonight to
see if I have any Cornett rookie guards because I
need to get them up for sale.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
You gotta sell them tonight, like you gotta sell them
by Friday, like you absolute hundred percent. Now with this
game going on now and again, it's it's been a
big beget start to the second half from Minnesota. It's
seventy two fifty four. They've pushed the lead out to
eighteen early in the third quarter. I am really stunned
that Steph Curry didn't play tonight right now, because I'll
(07:13):
go back. I'll tell you what I'm wrong. I said
a week ago. If they're down three to one, there's
no way he's not playing in game five. There's no
way he's gonna come back. He's gonna try to play now.
He was cleared for court work, and if they can
somehow extend tonight, he could play in game six. Remember
there's eleven days off now between game five and game six,
so he could potentially return in game six. But I
(07:33):
am stunned that he couldn't play tonight. And there's many
guys where if this was Lebron, you would go, eh,
could he play? Could he really play? But you know
Steph wants to play. You know, if there was any
way possible he'd be able to play, he'd play in
this game, right He's not Lebron. Where you go? Was
this a real sitting out? Was this a strategic sitting out?
Was this saying I was hurt because we got eliminated
(07:56):
and I couldn't play in the next gay, Well, like,
what is it? But now kind of and maybe Steph
Curry is the tipping point for it. But we have
been in a run now of basically the last five
to seven years where every single playoff you can fill
at least one All Star team with injured stars. Right,
(08:18):
Nobody gets hurt in the playoffs, No stars get hurt.
No with with the with the frequency of NBA stars right, Well,
the NBA game is physical, Yeah, NFL game is a
little bit more physical, and stars still won't get hurt
like they do in the NBA. Right, every every single
year you could say, here's a Top five, here, here's
a here's an All Star team, all NBA first and
(08:40):
second team of guys who got hurt. Right. You see
that all the time, whether it's Lillard and now it's
Tatum and now it's Curry. I mean, these are the
biggest names in the game that continue to get hurt
and continue to miss done. Maybe Lebron would have missed
the most of the rest of the playoffs with his injury.
Like the NBA, this is their biggest thing on their
(09:00):
to do list, because you can't just shrug your shoulders
and say, well, this is how it goes. Right, guys
get hurt in the playoffs. I get that's how you're coaching, right,
Steve Kurrz talked about it. Other coaches said, look, we
understand this is this is how you have to coach
in the playoffs because guys get hurt, right, that's the
strategy part. But the NBA has got to figure out
a way they got an NFL the crap out of
this thing, because what did the NFL do when you
(09:23):
saw injuries getting out of control? And yes, part of
it is, you know, pr you want to limit the concussions,
and when it becomes a bad say, hey, the NFL said,
let's figure out some things to do where we can
limit injuries. Right, whether it is changes to the helmet,
change to the kickoff, and concussions are down. Injuries are down,
you know, ACL injuries are down because we're playing less
preseason games. You know, guys aren't getting hurt as much
(09:44):
in the preseason. The NFL has kind of at least
found a way to say, we know, we want to
keep the guys on the field, right, no matter what,
the NFL wants to keep the guys on the field.
So now that it's so public that injuries happen here,
and what's the NFL culpable for for guys who played
years before the NFL is at trying to find a
way to say, let's limit the injuries. We can't get
rid of them, but let's find a way. Now you
(10:05):
have to take a look over how this how the
numbers are gonna go for like a ten year period.
But at least the NFL is trying, right, All the
things are just outlined. They're trying to find a way
to keep guys on the field. The NBA is just saying, yeah,
I don't know what to do. We're still gonna have
back to backs, We're still gonna play eighty two games.
We're still gonna play every round as best of seven.
Even though when you get to this point in the season,
the game is not that the players have changed way
(10:28):
more than the game has right when you see when
when players are getting bigger, stronger, faster in the NFL,
the NFL is making moves to try to figure things out.
Certain plays they want to outlaw because guys are too big,
too fast, the horse collar tackle. You know, defenders are
too big Now they can pull guys down like that.
Didn't used to be able to do it. Right, the
NBA needs to nfl the crap out of this and
(10:49):
try to figure out a way to keep your guys
on the court. How do we figure how do we
prevent against more soft tissue injuries, how to prevent against
I don't know what the answer is. I just know
they got to find a way, and there's been no
way of trying to figure this out. This is where
the NBA, the players Association has to work together to say,
all right, we want to make sure every playoff is
not Hey, whoever stays the healthiest is gonna win. We
(11:12):
know we can't eliminate injuries, but wow, we can't keep
having these star players missing so much time in the
play It hurts us, it hurts our brand, it hurts it. Well,
when you get to the playoffs, everybody gets hurt and
everything you did in the regular season goes out the window.
Just ask the Cleveland Cavaliers because that happened to them
with their guys hurt in the first few games. So
there's needs to be some sort of some sort of summit,
(11:34):
some sort of NBA strategy where it's okay, we are
now going to look into how to keep players healthier
in the postseason. And again, I'll be the first one
to say I don't have the answer, but I just
know it's got to get looked into. Right, I'm not
a doctor, but I know that, Hey, let's get the
smart doctors together, like if I was Adam Silverwitt's Okay,
let me get all the smart doctors. Let me get
all the smart people together. Let me get the player
association guys together. Let me get some thoughts in here
(11:56):
and figure this out, because this is the one thing
that kills the end and the postseason superstars that are hurt.
And look, how many less people are watching this Warriors
Timberwolves game because Steph Curry is not playing, and the
and the and the Warriors really don't have a chance
to win this series. How many more people are not
watching like this affects their bottom line? And the NBA
still is, well, what can you do? Now? There's there's
something you can do. The NFL is showing you there
(12:18):
are things you can do about this.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
No, and that's the hard part, right, Go go down
the list of guys, and some of them have been
that that horrible term that comes up, you know, injury
pro When we talk about a guy like John Moran.
Forget about the the off court and the videos and
whatever for a second, but talk about him. Just from
a health perspective, we talked about Damian Lillard, we talked
about Garland and Mobley missing time, Mitchell being banged up,
(12:42):
Jason Tatum, Steph Curry, keep on going down the line.
Holiday was hurt and just all all the way through
your missing games and now it's the pullback and invest
in your product to try to figure it out, whether
it's partnering with the shoe companies, figuring out from a
training perspective, is there something guys are doing differently? Is
(13:02):
it just the fact that the season is so damn long?
Go back because you're also coming out of an Olympic year,
So how much of that plays in, you know, whatever
the coefficient is on that variable of extra minutes played
versus how much guys are playing in the off season
instead of just sitting on a boat and fishing or
playing Minecraft or whatever they're doing. Just keep on going
(13:23):
down the line, right, You're you're trying to figure out
all of these differents.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Like the survey they did that.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Named Haliburton the most overrated guy, right, ninety guys voted, well,
we need more participation in a survey of what the
hell do you do in your free time? How are
you training, what are the reps, what are the like
what are these different pieces? So you could come to
some conclusion as to why we're having this proliferation of
injuries year after year, because the grafts don't lie. It's
(13:51):
just growing. You know, you wish your four oh one games.
We're having the same type of returns right now, when
when you're looking at the way the all stars and
star players and rotational guys are going down at an
alarming clip. Even if it's for half the game, right
it alters a series. So you need to figure it out.
(14:12):
Is it the shoes? Is it the ankles and torque
that you're putting on the fast turn to get to
the baseline again, trying to figure it all out because
you need to keep the star players on. As much
as I can say you're cheering for laundry. No, no, no,
NBA is a little bit different in that regard.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
Yeah, I mean just the fact that, yeah, hey, you
gotta worry. No no, no, there's things you can do.
There's things you can actually do to help this thing out.
Don't call me crazy, but I'm a problem solver. That's

are late in the third quarter, just under three minutes
left to go. The Timberwolves continue to lead the Warriors
eighty four sixty eight four Minnesota. Julius Randall, Yeah everywhere.
(17:32):
He is eight of eleven from the floor. Every time
I look up, I feel like he's making a big shot.
Nineteen and four tonight he is leading the way. A
quiet night for Anthony Edwards just eleven points, but it
is a big night from the starting five for the
t Wolves. As the Warriors looking for some kind of offense,
they are led by Jonathan Kaminga off the bench with
(17:52):
seven Damn. I mean it's good, It's like good and
bad news. Hey, Jonathan Kaminga leading the Warriors and scoring.
Maybe he's not lost, Maybe he still gonna be good.
Maybe he's someone that hey could be a part of
the future. But the but the downside is Jonathan Kaminga
is leading us in points. So there's that.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
Well, you're trying to find someone to combat the prowess
of Rudy Gobert and now they're battling it out in
the box score.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Manzi Belognias will have more on this game and what's
trending coming up in a few minutes. But today was
NFL Schedule Release Day. Time for fans and look and
see how many games they think their team can win
the first month, plan those big trips, plan weddings for
bye weeks. Joining us now to break it all down.
Longtime NFL insider check them out on the thirty third
(18:39):
team Pro Football Hall of Very Good voter on Twitter
at Jason Cole sixty two. It is Jason Cole. What's happening, man?
How you doing?
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Jordan loves howie'sy I'm so jacked up. There's nothing there's
nothing like Schedule Release Day. It's just so amazing. I
love it, just everything about it. It's fascinating. I love
the the CBS live updates. They actually they put live
(19:17):
updates on a schedule release. I'm like, it's been known
for weeks. It's not a live event. This is not
how this works. But okay, if you want to call
it live updates, it's it's not an event. But okay, O, great, thanks.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
The announcement is a live event announcing this is a
live event. You're on a live of it with us
right now.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
No, it's not. It's not a live event. It's one
that like they do over like four days, because like
three days ago it's like, oh, you're the your national game,
let's tease it. Like they stretched out basically over four days.
It really is market it's marketing genius. It really is
(20:01):
for the NFL to do this the way they do it.
But I don't want to do that because I don't
want to go any further on this because it's the
same silliness every year. But I just wanted top live
updates on CBS. I was like, you, guys, I mean,
do you even think about the word you associated with
(20:26):
what you're doing? Like just never mind.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
You see what Jay Cole just did U us though
he just killed our entire Friday Show, which was going
to be ranking all to seventy two.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
Yeah, that's we were going to rank the games from
best number one all the way to two seventy two
the worst one. We're going to do that. I don't
say something involving the Jets.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Don't say that's that's that's that's fascinating right right there.
But I do want to ask you, you guys.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Wow, you know what? Screw you jerk? So, because this
is one of the things right from the schedule Week one,
Steelers at Jets. Okay, week one, how much of this
is the NFL going? Boy really want Aaron Rodgers to
keep playing. He's a big deal, he sees it. He's
very popular. If we put the Steelers, if we show Aaron, hey,
(21:17):
if you signed with the Steelers, you'll get the Jets
revenge week one? Hey, Aaron, what do you think now?
Does it look like you could come back and play
football for next year? Because now I'm convinced he's coming back.
He's not going to miss a chance to play in
that game. He's absolutely going to come back.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
Now, Oh well they know that. Well, no, they already
know that the agreement exists, right, so they already know
that this is in place that Rogers. I mean, that's
undoubtedly they wouldn't they wouldn't have done that without this
in place, right, So they're doing that. Yes, it's a
perfect way to open the season. It's almost as perfect
(21:51):
as having Philadelphia opened the season against the Cowboys at
home and to see Jerry Jones, Like it's almost like
you remember that in the in the playoffs when Cleveland
lost the playoffs to Denver, you know, back in the
(22:13):
late nineteen eighties, and you saw that Art Modell shot
where our Modell has like his his head, you know,
like just you know, like pressed up against his hand
in misery. Like that's what I kind of get feeling.
But what Jerry Jones could look like in the opener
of the season.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
So you're comparing the end of Art Modell with the
fumble to Jerry Jones Week one against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
It's just the image. It's just the image that will
be conjured up because they could lose that game. Yeah,
so you met, I really jacked that Eagles team going
against the Cowboys knowing we can beat these guys by thirty,
maybe forty if we want to, Like that, God that's
(23:03):
just such an image for the season opener. I can't
wait for that.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
So it spread's only seven, Jacoble. So what you're saying
is it's only May.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
It's only May. It's seven. In May, it's gonna be four.
But I mean you can get that early action in
people still like George Pickens, that's it's only seven.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
I'm pushing. I'm pushing in a lot of chips in
on that. On the Eagles for there be that way,
although they're probably they're probably let up a little bit
a celebration game. They'll get lead in the half and
then they'll cruise and win by like ten or thirteen.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
No, no, no, no, no. If that was anything, if this
was Jaguars Eagles to open, I would say, you're absolutely right,
they'll come out flat. Just we wanted the sue. No,
but yo, you're giving us the Cowboys. Oh we're starting
out big. Don't worry now now now you've in short
us starting out big. We're not gonna have a flat start.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Forty five seven could have eight hundred yards. It could
be like one of the games.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
So I'm just always argue when we get the season started,
we're so thirsty for anything that that you should just
give us all the Jaguars Titans like games that we
could possibly put together on a schedule, because you're gonna
watch no matter what, Ja Cole, Yes, absolutely.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
I'm just thinking about those those those eight man football
games where you know the running back, hey, uh sixteen carries,
four hundred and fifty six yards and eleven touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
That's the season opener. That's that's we're gonna have one
of those games. He's gonna average forty two yards per
carry something like that.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
What a day for Saint Quaud Barkley. Here it looks
like the Cowboys are playing with eight but okay here there, hey,
now speaking of Barkley. Okay, we talked about this earlier
in the show.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
Quick question, win did the Jets on my first game?
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Week one? Week one? Justin Fields throws for two hundred,
runs for one hundred We win seventeen fourteen.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
Let's say Steelers. Then they got the Bills. That's when
they're on the road at the Buccaneers.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Oh, that's a win.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Then they play the Dolphins. That's the one that kind
of stands out, doesn't it. Hey, why do the Dolphins
have five prime time games?
Speaker 1 (25:13):
J Cole.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
I noticed the Bears have two games on Monday night.
That's that's awesome. The league's banking on Caleb Williams has
shown something up on him, shown something on Monday night, Right.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Sell sell sell, Jason Smith, get back to your your
love of Saquon Barkley.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
No, you know because speaking of bark we talked about
this earlier. Is that you know you saw Derrick Henry
get that big contract today, right, two year extension, thirty
million dollars, biggest extension for a running back over the
age of thirty. I feel like running backs j Cole
should be like a like a pyramid scheme, and and
Barkley's at the top, and every other running back that
signs a big contract has to funnel money to him
(25:56):
because he brought the running back position back getting paid
all by himself, Like he's the guy everybody gets paid
the next couple of years because of what he did
last year. They should give him some of their money.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
I should do this, Okay, but what are these guys
are really averaging? Right? Are they average? Take one deal
as what and even Derrick Henry's deal is they haven't
reached twenty million a year.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
Have they No, But you're talking about an over thirty
running back getting thirty million dollars for the next two years.
We's going to probably collect all of it. Yeah, Barclay's
see him not to.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
Get I get that, But thirty million dollars collectively is
not even what Trey Hendrickson is going to get for
an average for single year once he's done with this holdout.
So yes, I like the fact that they're bringing the
running back positions back a little bit, but relative to
(26:55):
other positions, they're still getting lapped like crazy, Like they're
getting more than doubled by defensive ends and by and
and and you know, and you know and wide receivers. Right, So,
as much as as much as running backs can feel
a little bit better about themselves, they're still trusted in
(27:21):
the overall market. This is just not this is never
going to change as long as the NFL Players Association allows, Well,
what's the time to be upward to five, you know,
four and five years because you just brought you just
draft your running back and you pay him for four
(27:43):
or five years and then you just he's a disposable
part and you get the occasional guy like Derrick Henry,
who's going to make a little bit of money Because
Derrick Henry is like the most unique running back we've
had since what like Earl Campbell in terms of his
ability to, you know, physically overpower our people. I mean
even he makes Christian Acqui look like a junior varsity player.
(28:07):
That's how physical Derek Henry it is.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
Well, let me ask you.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
You brought up Hendrickson. Is he still a bangle when
it's all said and done, he and Zach Taylor makeup.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Somebody had a great Well, it's just not Zach Taylor's fault.
Like I don't understand, Like Zach Tayler is just the
front guy from Mike Brown. Right, Okay, so yeah, I
feel bad for Zach Taylor like he's he's just taken,
like he's fallen on their grenade basically, you know, like
(28:40):
Mike Brown said, here, I'm pulling the pom on this one. Zack,
go save me for a while, right, and and take
on him on Hendrickson in this one, Like that's where
this battle really is. And when you paid the two
and when you paid the two wide receivers, what did
you think that what's going to happen when your star defensive,
(29:02):
then who's the only defensive player that you have who's
worth dam So you've got to You've got to pay him. Now,
is he going to get thirty Is he going to
get over thirty million dollars a year? He should? I mean,
he can't. A fifteen million dollar figure.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
He might.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
It's so low that he might as well accept the fines.
The only problem is that the the fines are so tough,
and that that contract told like, you can't. You can't
wait out that contract. Eventually you have to base whatever
your next deal is on that deal because you have
(29:44):
to play it out at some point in time. So
you're gonna have to do something. Mike. It is just
such a hard it's such a hard nosed guy. I
think somebody said Mike Brown would would let sit out
for seventeen years in order to save seventeen dollars.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
That's about right. He did it with Carson Palmer when
we thought, Okay, well guys are always gonna get Nope,
I'm gonna let Carson Palmer sit before I finally trained him.
There were Craig Palmer in the in the in the
early teams.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Yeah, I mean he could, he could easily do this.
And I will also say this, Hendricks didn't as much
as he he said, I'm not going to play on
this contract, right, He showed up because he didn't want
to be fined. If you're worried about the fines for
(30:42):
missing off season camp, didn't you just play your hand
out by saying by claiming that you're not going to
play this season you're worried about. Fine, Now, the fines
only get like ten times worse if you're playing the
missing games. So I just think he's played this all wrong.
(31:04):
If he was going to if he was going to
do this, you know you do it now and you
and you hold that press conference away from mini camp
and you say, look, these guys are cheap and they
won't pay defensive players, and you have good luck to you,
but I'm not showing up until I have a new contract.
And you specifically point out and you say, you know
(31:26):
Mike Brown's cheap. Everybody knows it. Yeah, even if you
paid the wide receivers, you know, you know that he's
overall cheap. And look at what we had on defense
last year and you're not there. And that's the only
way you really put pressure on Mike Brown.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
He's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two. That's at
Jason Cole sixty two. See you with a thirty third
team as well. J Cole, as always, Buddy, appreciated for
joining us on on the most holiest of days for you,
the schedule day of the NFL.
Speaker 5 (31:56):
It's day.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
It's a great day of all time.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
It really is a good guys, buddy. There he goes,
thanks to Jay call time now to find out what's
trending in the wide world of sports. So someone who's
been called the Trey Hendrickson of Fox Sports Radio and
shows up so she won't get fined. It's mont Blagos.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Yeah I would.
Speaker 5 (32:17):
I'm just here to not get fine. That is correct, guys.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
All right.
Speaker 5 (32:21):
The fourth quarter has begun between the Timberwolves and the Warriors.
Golden State has outscored them so far thirteen to four,
but Minnesota is up by twelve ninety seven. Eighty five
is the score a little under nine minutes to go
in this one. The leading scorer right now for the
Warriors is Brandon Pajemski. He is four of six from
the three. He's got twenty one points. For Minnesota is
(32:42):

ten of fourteen from the field. Anthony Edwards five of

The Letter reports that after the game, Joe Mazula was
asked why he benched christophs Porzingis. He only played twelve
(33:05):
minutes and Joe Mozula responded that he couldn't breathe, so
still dealing with that issue for rips Porzingis on the ice.
It's still a scoreless game between the Oilers and the
Golden Knights after two periods, but Edmonton leads the series
three to one, so Golden Knights have a period to
win this one and keep their season alive. The Panthers
now lead their series over the maple Leaves three to
(33:26):
two after crushing them earlier today six to one. Haysan
Kim has recorded his first home run as a major leaguer,
even tying the game for the Dodgers against the A's.
The Dodgers have hit three homer sho hey Otani, Andy
Pahz and now Hayesan Kim. It is three to three
against the A's bottom of the sixth inning. The Padres
holding on to that three run shot from Xander Bogarts
(33:47):
as they're up on the Angels three to one bottom
of the eighth inning. Earlier today, the Nationals edged the
Braves five for the Pirates shut out the Mets for zero.
The Tigers walked it off against the Red Sox six',
five and The diamondbacks to The giants eight to. Seven
Kettle Mark thy homer twice, Well Aaron judge hit his
fifteenth homer of the season as A yankees edge The
mariners three to.
