(00:50):
funny I'm in stick a genius one in for the
guys Jason Smith and his best friend Mike Harmon on
this Thanksgiving Day. By the way, tweet us let us
know where you're listening, how you're listening. And people already
started sending in their top Thanksgiving moments, so we'll get
to that in a little bit. All so this game

(01:11):
won't end. I thought San Francisco to be up like
forty two to ten by now, but it's still a game.
What was it, twenty four to thirteen to the last check
San Francisco with the ball with about ten to eleven
minutes left of this one VJ.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Yeah, and see this is why San Francisco is not
a lock for me. Right. They should have put this
game away and they haven't been able to do so.
Perty is sitting with an interception one point fifty eight
nineteen of twenty eight. So that's again, while I say,
let's pump the brakes even in a game with their
webs Now it's a division game on the road. Those
are normally some of your hardest games you're gonna play
as an NFL player, or Division games on the row.

(01:45):
But they probably should have put this away.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Now.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
They're sitting at about the thirty one right now with
first and tent on. Seattle's thirty one, so they're moving
the ball and they can punch it in right here,
make it thirty one to thirteen, or even twenty seven
to thirteen at about the eight minute mark, game over.
But I'm with you this. When you got a team
down and you're that squad. You're supposed to kick them
while they're down. When you're letting them fight and hang
in there, it shows that, you know, maybe you're not unbeatable.

(02:09):
And I think we look at the San Frantine because
they started out five to oh, lost in a rows
and injuries, got guys back, and have kind of blitzed
their last two opponents. Hey, how about two weeks to
go down in Jacksonville. I picked Jacksonville, so I lost
that game, and they went in there and blitzed them,
and they took care of Tampa and it looks like
they can do the same tonight. But on which you, Arnie,
this looks like it should have been pushed out a
little bit and it hasn't been right.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
And Miluck either not playing a better offensive team that
would put a little pressure back on them. By the way,
you know, for a guy that's the quarterback whisperer in Shanahan,
he had brock Purty out his bench, Mister irrelevant. He
had no idea that brock perty was gonna be this
great and easy quarterback whisperer.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
You know that, right, Yeah, that's what they're saying. Well,
he couldn't whisper into Trey Lances here, so I don't
know about that. Couldn't whisper in the Trey Lances here.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
First of all, we hope everybody's having a great tanks
giving out there now that they're just kind of wrapping
things up on this Thanksgiving day. VJ and I we've
worked but three straight now Thanksgiving, so we enjoy it.
A lot of sports going on. Three NFL games, one
tomorrow in our Dolphins take it on the Jets. We'll
get to that a little bit. But I enjoy it.

(03:16):
So it's fun. And I'm back tomorrow night. You're working tomorrow.
I'm working tomorrow night with Chris Blank.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Yeah, I'll be in tomorrow twelve to four West Coast time.
I will be filling in first for Doug Gottlieb, and
then I won't move. The show rolls right into my
homeboys good friends of Mine's Cavino and Rich. I'll be
sitting in for those gentlemen as they sit in for
Colin Calher earlier in the morning.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
So technically you're kind of filling in for Colin. Then
really that's hey, you know what I'm saying. Listen, Hey, listen,
have you got to spin it?

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Many have you got to spin it that make the
Big Vanilla look a little bit better than I already do.
I call that a blessing.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
I love it all right. So, like I said, Big
Vanilla funny, it's stinking genius. One Is that a touchdown
by San Francisco?

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Look at y time.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Yep, he just across the mid on a nice on
a nice throw in between, like it looks like a
Tampa two zone, two safety, high coverage and got hitting
at the ends. No touchdown. So there it is. There's
the thirty one to ten and that's game all right.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Since in this Thanksgiving and VJ said this to me earlier,
it's like we got to give our top Thanksgiving moments
and matter, Raymond said, Raymond Jason B. Diamond excuse me
setting one end uh, He said, the leon Let fumbling
the block field goal against the Dolphins in ninety four
has to be the top Thanksgiving moment. Also, Jerome Bennetts,

(04:32):
arguing what he called before overtime on the coin flip,
those are like two of my three favorites. He's still
like two of my three favorites. Obviously the leon Let
thing because he didn't have to touch it. That was
to this. I mean, that's just so great that that happened.
Dapins got a victory on that one, and the coin
flip thing is still I don't know if you remember
that one VJO. Of course he said he called one side,

(04:55):
they said he called the other, and it ended up
on the side that he said he called the end
of the Blues in that game.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
So I remember when he told to the raison, I
call has the reps looked right out and said, no,
you did it, And then and then went to the
up land Are you one the toss? Are you gonna receive?
You know? But that Dolphin, that's the easy one, right,
we're both Dolphin fans. It's the most legendary one that
people mainly remember about Thanksgiving Day. But just some backdrop
on that game. If you remember, that's the year the
Dolphins were actually picked to go to the Super Bowl

(05:22):
by a lot of sports riders. They had a stack squad.
We got Keith Jackson in the trade at the trade
deadline the year before that, and we had signed Keith
Buyers in the offseason as a.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Free agent former running running back for Philly.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Yes, and they thought, okay, Marinos got weapons tight end.
We got to catch and we gotta receive in fallback.
Now he blocks like moves. Johns can remember at that
point Don Shulu was still our coach, but he always
talked about how you enambered, how Dallas was putting together,
how Jimmy Johnson was building that team. So Marino wasn't
the quarterback in that game. Also too, remember that sleep

(05:54):
and snowstorm came out of nowhere. It wasn't in the forecast.
So when we cut the game on the even the
commersas like, listen, guys, if you're just tuning in, do
not adjust your TV set. That is snow and sleep
and ice that you see on the field, And it
made for such a sloppy game. Sotoyanovich, who made the

(06:14):
kick the winding.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Game, I was about to ask you, do you remember
who the keys start Peachan.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Are you kidding me? He had already made a twenty
and a thirty one yard of that game, he'd missed
a forty four yarder. That attempt was forty that was
gonna win the game, that got blocked. But once it
got blocked. If you remember that game, the cameras move
away from the field, they're showing Jerry Jones and his
trench coat with both hands above his head, and then
he noticed what was going on. Remember Aikman and Irvin

(06:41):
are in a bro hug grip like a yeah, we
got this one, gritty win we are, And then Aikman
says something to him. Irvin spins his head around and
it's Leon. Let it be. Let it be, Leon, just
let it be, and Leon set up for the field
goal kick Miami gets out of there. That actually put
the Dolphins. If people remember that put us an eight
in four eight and three that year, I don't remember, Yeah,

(07:03):
and we ended up losing like the last four or
five games to get knocked out of playoffs. We lost
on the last day of the year at New England.
So I remember that game very vividly and crying my
eyes out. But yeah, man, that game is probably everybody's
first of But it was just so much backdrop to
that game that I think people forgot the two other
ones for me really fast. Two thousand and three Miami
at Dallas. If you remember that one, Jay Fiedler throws

(07:26):
three touchdown passes to Chris Chambers and we go in
and beat Bill Parcells. Quincy Carter, that group of guys there,
jon Quincy Carter, Yeah, of the fighting Georgia Bulldogs, out
of fighting, Kirby Smarts, Ricky Wims with for one hundred
that day, he clipped a thousand. That made him only
the second running back in Dolphin history to do a
thousand yards rushing twice as a Dolphin in his career.

(07:49):
So that was a milestone that day. And Jason Taylor
had a fumble recovery for a touchdown that like, we
went in there forty to twenty one, blew the doors
off in last the Randy Moss game. Dallas should have draft.
Don't remember it now, Dallas should have drafted. I mean
he's been on quote saying Arnie, Hey, Dallas Cowboys told
me they was going to draft me back in the day.
Dallas said. Dallas said, I'm telling y'all right now, Dallas

(08:10):
Cowboys told me they was going draft me. And when
they didn't draft me, I said it myself. I told
myself right there, every time I get them, I'm gonna
get at it every time. Three catches that day, one
hundred and sixty three yards, three touchdowns, Yeah, touchdown catches
A fifty one fifty six and fifty six. He was
wearing poor Kevin Smith's ass out. So those are like
my three that I remember. I was a big Randy

(08:31):
Moss fan.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
I'll give you one more, but you're not gonna remember this, okay,
trying it's non sports. On this day, twenty six years
ago in the Macy's Day Parade is when Barney the
float blew up in front of everybody, like explode it. Yes,
I don't remember that. I saw a video of it today.

(08:54):
It first, it started tearing apart and it just came down.
After that, we were trying. I don't know if it
was because the winds or something, and they had people,
they had like big guys holding out through it, laying
down on the ground. Couldn't keep it on the ground.
I don't remember what happened, but it was a big
Barty float and it came tumbling down. There's been other

(09:15):
folks that came tumbling down, but that one was on
this day twenty six years ago. There VJ.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
So I'll give you another one. I think you'll love too.
Eleven years ago, this is the anniversary of the butt
fumble by Sanchez Bumbas Jets. The funniest thing I've ever
seen in my life. For his face. They go into
the rear end of a teen like that and him
get spiked back down to the ground fumble, Patriots picking

(09:42):
up running in the Patriots blew them out. Remember I
was supposed to be a great game. Was a forty
nine to fourteen. They put it on the Jets, that
a Brady and they scored five touchdowns in that second quarter.
Just laid into him the butt. Fuck.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
How long are they gonna be referring to that one forever? Jeez?
What are they gonna say about that one hundred years
from now?

Speaker 5 (09:59):
You know?

Speaker 4 (09:59):
On the fumble Mark Sanchez, the bump fuffle, he ran
into the ass of his own player and got spiked
back to Yeah, the bump fuffle, man, that was you
know me, I hate I hate him, so it was
hilarious to me. I'll live that down. I can't let
me ask you a question. Can you ever look at
Mark Sanchez and not think about it?

Speaker 6 (10:13):
No?

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Of course, there it is.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Even though he had a great career in college that yeah, yeah, yeah,
to say college though he did take it well, he
did take the judge two AFC Championship game.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
Did he mat or what he was the quarterback on
that team. I think the defense is what took him back.
Well still, that's you know, I get what you're saying,
but I have to call that. But see I don't.
And once again, I think we just get comfortable with
these narratives he took No we Let's let's get real.
That defense is the reason why they got to that
championship game, and if they had a quarterback, they might
have beaten the Patriots that day. VJ.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Husky already sped your right here on Fox Sports Radio
just to shift gears a little bit because I do
want to get to the Miami judge gave it a
little bit. But was it last night of the days
we're all just bluing the end when Greg pac Popovich
uh grabbed the mic phone and yelled that I hope
Alex back at the studio has this cut where he

(11:06):
grabs the microphone and says, don't boo, Kawhi Leonard were
better than that. Here's what happened last night.

Speaker 6 (11:14):
Go ahead and played that free throws coming up here
for Kawhi Leonard. Norman Powell checks in to give Paul
George a breather.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
That's not who we are.

Speaker 6 (11:26):
I'm not exactly sure what Greg Popovich said to some fans.
I'm not exactly sure, but pop just grabbed the microphone
and said, that's not who we are.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Have some class.

Speaker 6 (11:38):
So I'm not exactly sure what happened downstairs, but apparently
some fans perhaps said some things to Kawhi Leonard.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
Have some class. Coming from a guy who in every
chance belittles the sideline reporter or the on court reporter
at every chance he gets out there, at every chance
at the press conference, will say something political or something
that they're not there to cover. They're there to cover sports.
Coming from a guy who's so nasty, sometimes he's gonna

(12:10):
go ahead and tell us not to boo, not to boo. Really,
I just find it so insulting coming from a guy
like that. Maybe he should worry and tell his buddy
Steve Kerr to take it down a few notches. But
I'll get to that in a minute. But I think
Papavich was out of line when you went ahead and

(12:30):
grabbed that mic out there.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
I give Papa pass because of his history and because
of power. I don't feel the same way you do
with all the things you just listed off. I think
we're able to, at least myself, I can only speak
for me. I'm able to kind of separate a lot
of things when I'm trying to judge somebody, especially in
a sports round. So all the other stuff you said
is true. I think I think he's kind of the cool,

(12:55):
grumpy old uncle. We all had one where he wasn't
he wasn't a bad guy, and you knew he wasn't
a bad guy, but he could come off as mean.
And the reason why he could come off his mean
or a hole or jerk is because he didn't have
a filter. He was very straightforward, and if he felt
like you were asking a stupid question or even in
a stupid way, he was going to let you know,

(13:17):
like the like the exchange with him. I don't know
if we're playing that sound. I don't want to give
it away, but the exchange at the post at the
post at the post uh gave conference uh excuse me,
interview where he's telling the guy I answered that already, right,
you know, and most people don't have.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
To be nasty all the time. VJ.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
You know what, you think he's nasty all the time. Man,
I've seen him joke with.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
Reporters were he gives like a one word answer, or
you know.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
Why that doesn't bother me, Arnie, I'll be I'll be
a buck with you, bro. Why are we bothering coaches
during battle? That's the stupidest. Honestly, this middle of the
quarter or this end of the quarter crap, This is dumb.
I never like that because if I'm a coach, I
don't want to talk to you. I gotta get over
here talk about what we're messing up on and what
we're doing. Well, I only got three minutes to do it,
so I ain't got thirty seconds. Yeah. I never get

(14:04):
mad at guys for that. Yeah, short answers. Here we go.
I gotta get back to the bench. Yes, no rebound defense. Okay,
thanks a lot, VJ. You're welcome.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
So, but it goes to show you that it goes on.
You know, the other coaches can answer questions, but Papavich
shows enough time they answer questions.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
You know. I also think Papavis doesn't care about being
liked either. I think that has a big deal to
do with it. These other coaches you're talking about, a
lot of these guys have personalities and want to be
like because especially in basketball, Arnie, the slightest team can
get a coach fired. You you rubber player wrong. These
coaches are interchangeable like hell. In the NBA there's five

(14:41):
to six new coaches every single year. Yeah, NFL too,
But in basketball, you would think, dude, this is an
easier sport than coach. You would think you could keep
your job longer than two three years. Our franchise's just
changing coaches out every four or five years. When the
superstar is upset and complain, goes to the front office
and complain. I think Papavich is one of those guys.
Is like, I don't care what you guys say about
me and think about me. I have five championships. I've

(15:02):
coached his first team for twenty plus years. This is
what I want to do. I don't want to talk
to you. The league makes me talk to you. I
don't have a problem with that, Arnie.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
All right, And when did my buddy Steve Kerr become
so nasty? I mean, usually he was a you know,
a happy go lucky guy and very funny and articulate.
Now he's just getting down right nasty. Now, Chris Paul
got thrown out of the game, double tech the goal
and he didn't deserve it. I'll be on that. I'll
be the first one to tell you. Scott Foster, the referee.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
We know the history there.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
There's a history between him and Chris Paul and it
goes back a while. Matter of fact, I think what
the something like the last twelve games Chris Paul has
played in with Scott Foster is the referee, They've lost
all twelve or something to that effect. He got thrown
out of the game. Kurb made a comment which I
thought was out of line where he said, Hey, it
wasn't Chris Paul that's up with your wife? Or was

(15:54):
Cliff Paul that stuck with you know, trying to make
a joke. I think that's because you never know what
the guy is going through. Maybe his wife is sick though, yeah,
going through a divorce. Who knows. Maybe his wife passed away.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
But look other family members, wives, they're off limits because
if you want to start dragging kids and family members.
Could you imagine if a referee went up to a
player and said, yeah, uh, I'm not sleeping with your wife,
so and so sleeping with your you get punched in
the face.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
You know that though it wasn't a great thing. But
today's your first question, the reason why, and as quick
as I can, the reason why Kurz acts like this
now why he's seemingly nasty. He's tired of watching his
team get disrespected by officiating and watching his superstar player
not get the calls that a lot of other superstars
in his league get. And over the last five years,
I would say, I think it's starting to really piss

(16:52):
him off that his guys aren't getting the same benefit
of the doubt that other superstars in the league are.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
Or maybe it was they've lost so much seven in
a row or something like that. Could that be something
to that.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
It could be a little bit, and he's pissed off,
you know, a delusion streak and all two. But those
Scott Fosser thinks, you're not gonna no one's gonna turn
me against Kerr Chris Paul in this situation, Scott Foster
needs to be gone. He needs to be out of
the league. And you can't have personal agendas, Arey. This
is why people think sports is what Joey Crawford.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
There used to be something with Joeyan Absolutely San Antonio
Spurson and Tim Duncan. But wasn't a Crawford that he wanted.

Speaker 4 (17:22):
He challenged Duncan to fight him.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
Yeah, but did he throw him out of a game
for or give him a technical because Duncan looked at him.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
Well, he threw he threw him out of the game
when Dunkey was on the bitch, Yes, because yeah, he
looked at guys. Yeah, he looked at him, and Duncan's like,
what did I do? And he threw him at it.
Yeah yeah, yeah, Guys like that or should not be
in the league. There's a reason why you get certain
fans that think sports is fixed. Those are the reasons
right there when stuff like that happens.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Yeah. I just thought that it's gotten real bad now.
I mean, Papavich just telling us, don't boo. You got
all the right to boo. You're paying the ticket. It's
not like you're saying anything I'm seeing or crossing the line.
You're just booing a little bit.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
I thought that was more about it being Kawhi. I
thought it was more about yeah, they were boring Kawhi.
He was at the line.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
I think here it wasn't Popovich wasn't Kawhi not coming
back when Popovich wanted him to come on back? And
Popovich kind of threw him under the buzz in front
of the media, but he wouldn't come back with it.
Is that what you're talking about?

Speaker 4 (18:13):
Well? Things change, you know, people change, Things change all right.

Speaker 3 (18:16):

(19:24):

Speaker 3 (19:33):
All right, welcome back to Fox Sports Radio Live at
the tyreck dot Com studios. VJ. Husky, Arnie Spaniard in
for the guys, Jason Smith and his best friend Mike Harmon.
By the way, you want to get ahold of us
on Twitter, Big Vanilla Funny, I'm a stinking genius one.
Where are you listening to the show? How are you
listening to the show? Love to see where what part

(19:54):
of the country you're in? Jason rides Spaniards more smug
and arrogant than coach pot That's according to a Fox
Sports Radio source. What let me tell you you know
what sources. Whenever they say Fox Sports Radio source, it's
usually like our technical director Alex ty Shirt or one
of my producers talking about me. Alex writes down all

(20:15):
the bad things I say and turns me into the boss.
He writes them in on an email, saying, this is
what Arnie, Alex? Are you there? You write down what
I do wrong? And you email the boss every time
after one of my fill in shows? Do you not well?

Speaker 7 (20:30):
The issue is that if I wrote down everything you
did wrong, I wouldn't have enough typing to do.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
That'd be much to Actually.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
I know that's he's the source of VJ. That's the source.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
I hope they don't talk about me like that when
I'm not around here.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
Oh I'm sure they do. I'm sure they do.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
They probably do. I talk about everybody VJ. Trust Oh god,
that's messed up because I don't talk about nobody. Why
do you talk I don't talk about nobody. Goodness, graces,
love you guys.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
Agreed. Not one fans there to see referee Uh Scott Foster. Uh.
No one needs tickets to see Scott Foster. I couldn't
agree with Big Vanilla Funny more on that one. And
I understand that I'm wondering what goes through his mind
because he lost it yesterday with the technicals that got
out of hand because he gave Chris Paul two. Then

(21:18):
he gave Kerr one or two. I think there was
three or four total, thirty three total?

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Yeah, in twenty five seconds. Yeah, he gave out three technicals. Here,
here's my big problem with it. Just go back and watch.
I understand Chris Paul is pissed off and upset and
he's getting But why don't referees have to walk away?
Why do players? Because now if you're if you're walking
down a ref, now I can see them going listen,
I'm trying to walk away and I'm trying to extinguish this.

(21:44):
You're escalating it. Okay, boom, here's your tech. Obviously you
want it. Here you go, But why don't refs have
to walk away? He's standing there really smug, like a
little jerk Chris, and he's drawing back off with him
like yeah, he's got him out too.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
If you're going to jaw back with him, then you
at what you deserve from the player.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
Absolutely absolutely, And then for him to walk away to
go do the free throw, Chris yell something and then
he turns around. He throws at Tech. He doesn't go
you know, Tech, you know you're uh you're throwing out
of whatever. He goes tech get out of here? Like
see that, get out of here? See see my psychology?
Lin'm brouh look at that and I go, yeah, say
that's personal, bro, that's not even on the professional professionally.

(22:22):
Do you think it? Referee school, they teach you to
look at a player when it mean face to say
get out of here.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
Do you want to know what's so funny about that?
I'm not kidding around. I just signed up last week
for referee school for pickle for basketball gren Vermont. But
it's you know, it's all the high school rules and
and some of the college rules because they're they're desperate
for officials here. So I thought i'd give back to
the community and go to some of the junior high
the high schools and stuff like that. So I'm I'm

(22:48):
gonna start, you know, ordering to be a ref there's
like twenty classes toward the rules. I mean, I don'd
be like a couple of rules I didn't know, and
that's about it. But there's a lot of rules to
know there. I'm curious, you know what the first chapter
is technical fouls.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
I bet it's.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
Why it's the I wouldn't that be the last chapter,
but they make that the first chapter. So I'm kind
of curious to see what they've got to say about
it and why it is the first chapter.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
You know, Jason Diamond is a faithful listener at all
our shows, so we tweet it back and forth. He's
dead on with this, bro. We've talked about this before.
There is not one person and there's not one fan
on planet Earth that goes to any pro college or
high school supported event going wow, I can't wait to
watch such and such call this game. That doesn't mean
you can't enforce the rules there. It's not about enforcing
the rules. You could tell when there's something personal, when

(23:40):
there's an agenda out there, like listen, I don't ever
want to think that sports is not rig but some way,
somehow not influenced. But Vegas changes all of that in
my brain. But I still watch, I still cheer, I
still professional. I don't call games rigged. I don't. I
just scratch my head and I just go yeah, like
we mentioned Eagles Dolphins. Oh yeah, okay, Well, if you
really want to tell me, once he was perfect and

(24:00):
the other team had eleven penalty if that's what you
really want to sell me. Okay, fine, but let me
see you do it again. Have we seen it again?

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Nope, it's not rigged. But I do think there is
personal that influence and fluence.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
You can't tell me. You can't tell me. Ref and
Michael Jordan in the nineties, you weren't a fan. And
there's a story I got from an NBA ref I
won't put his name on. This is a true story.
He told me this about ten years ago when he
first got into the NBA to ref he was pulled
aside and told that if Jordan misses a layup, are
really really close shot, you have to blow the wheel
to whistle, because nine times out of ten, he probably

(24:35):
and he used the story he said, he probably got fould.
He said. An og Reff pulled him aside and told
him that, he said, and if you don't make those calls,
they won't put you on the games. And you know
you get paid more for doing certain games.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
I love it. You know. A long, long, long time ago,
I had ed Hockley on this show. I knew ed
from Phoenix. He was an attorney back in the day
and he used to listen to my local.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Show ain't that biceps? Yes, that's a biceps. That's what
I call him. I call him now.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
His son is ref in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (25:02):
So a few cents ago.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
And I was, I was having fun with him, and
I said, and I don't know what this means. Can
you explain it to me? He goes, well, that sure,
what is it? I go, what's a makeup call? What
what does that mean? Eddie laughs a little bit. He goes,
let me explaining something to you. Do you think that
if I missed a call in front of millions and
millions of people, the very next thing I want to
do is miss another call in front of millions and

(25:26):
millions of people. Don't buy it? Just to even up.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
You don't buy it there, especially not basketball, cause we've
seen because the proof is in the tape. Put the
tape on, you know, a makeup call when you see
see I don't see it. I don't buy it. But
what he's living in about it, he's protecting his craft. Though. Man,
I'm not mad at him. I would and go, oh, ed,
hockey's a lot now since of course it's a makeup call. Bro, Like,
don't come on, don't do this because you got you

(25:49):
got to give a makeup call. Call was so egregious,
so you got to give a touch of.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
Call it up. So I eaven it up. What do
you think about that?

Speaker 4 (25:56):
Thank you? I even it up. Okay, fine, here we go.
And that's where the mindset. Hey, the game play out,
the calls will even out, things will even out as
the game goes on.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Yeah, I love it.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Some of the wrestle.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Make sure that happens. Did you know?

Speaker 3 (26:06):
Discover wants everyone that feels special. That's why with your
Discover card you have access twenty four to seven customer service,
as well as zero dollar fraud liability, which means you
never held responsible for unauthorized purchases. Learn more at discover
dot com. Slash credit cards limitations apply. I'm actually crying
right now. All right, we're gonna come back. I promised Miami,
the ju I promised. But first, let's see what's trending.

(26:28):
Check on in whether Buddy be Finn, what's going on? Brian?

Speaker 4 (26:31):
What's going on?

Speaker 3 (26:31):
VJ?

Speaker 7 (26:32):
And Arnie fan And I got to tell you, you know,
you guys are talking about the ref situation. Tim Donahue,
you know remember.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
What he did.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
He wasn't the only one, Brian.

Speaker 7 (26:40):
And he was during the Lakers and those early two thousands,
and so I'm discrediting those championships as a Clippers fan.

Speaker 4 (26:49):
You sucked me in. He sucked me dude. I thought
we were about to have another moment, Brian. We've had
our moment. There was another one there and you okay,
I'm sorry. I see how you want.

Speaker 7 (26:57):
I drove the shugar into the ditch to do that.
As far as how things go. But as we now
pivot over to the NFL, three games and the books
on this Thanksgiving Thursday, in the final one had the
forty nine Ers putting the Seahawks in the wood Chipper,
and the.

Speaker 6 (27:13):
Forty nine Ers have now beaten Seattle for a fourth
straight time.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
Had another game playoffs last year, Yeah, and another and
that's one, one hundred and twenty points they scored, were
close to it in four games.

Speaker 7 (27:27):
There you have it, forty nine Ers Radio netwhere you
got thirty one to Thirteenniners over the Seahawks, and Christian
McCaffrey scored twice on the ground, Deebo Samuel ran in
a touchdown as well, and Brock Purty able to overcome
the pick six he threw early in the second half.
Elsewhere the Dallas Cowboys they run away with a forty

(27:47):
five to ten beat down of the Washington Commanders. There
was a pick six in this game. There was also
four touchdowns through the air from Dak Prescott, the Cowboys
star signal caller. Meanwhile, in Detroit, Lions falter twenty nine
to twenty two against the Green Bay Packers for Jordan
Love had a pick free game, what a surprise, and

(28:09):
three touchdowns through the air for the Green Bay quarterback.
And then we had that one college football game of
notable status and that would be number twelve Ole miss
holding off Mississippi State seventeen to seven. That's the second
ten win season for Lane Kiffin as they now hope
to get a good bowl, and that essentially knocks the
Bulldogs out of getting a bowl considering they're now five

(28:31):
and seven on the season. And lastly, in college basketball,
run through a couple of marquee matchups, including number twelve
Texas A and M with an eighty nine to seventy
seven takedown of Penn State. A victory four Villanova in
overtime a notable one considering it was against number fourteen
at North Carolina eighty three to eighty one, serving up
the first l to the season for the tar Heels.

(28:54):
Staying perfect on the season would be Memphis as they
take down Number twenty our in saw eighty four to
seventy nine at Atlantis, the major hotel out there, and
the Bahamas and number three Arizona. I think the best
verb to say here, Arnie against your for your Arizona
Wildcats will be squeaking past number twenty one Michigan st

(29:17):
eight seventy four.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
It was a battle.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
It was.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
It was a battle seventy four to sixty eight.

Speaker 7 (29:22):
And there will be many more battles for your Arizona
Wildcats against the Uclia Bruins come conference time, and you
guys will be on the losing side of all of
those matchups, so you might as well mentally prepare for
that right now.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
It's okay, we got Purdue beforehand. That's a good looking
forward to Thanks tot Brian, appreciate that. By the way,
I vj Husky Arty Spad. You're in for the guys
Jason Smith and his best friend Mike Carbon right here
on Fox Sports Radio Miami and the Jets. By the way,
the forty nine Ers win thirty one to thirteen, So
that's a final. But you said, really nothing to worry about. Ia.

(29:57):
I was a little worried about the game against the Jets.
You said, nothing to worry about. Maybe the game is
nothing to worry about, but it's still an important game.
Gotta win to stay even with Baltimore, who's eight and three,
to stay ahead of Jacksonville, or even with Jacksonville and
Kansas City. You know, you want to go ahead, try
to get that number one seed. So all these games

(30:18):
obviously are important. But when you play a team that
you're favored over, even though it's on the road, still
an important game.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
You have to get that victory. You know, Division games
are always important games. Every game is an important game
that you gotta win. You're supposed to win every game.
I always tell people, and my personal opinion, the hardest
thing to do in all the pro sports is win
one NFL game because you work six days for sixty minutes,
and it's the only sport like that. Baseball you can
get over a bad hitting night, You're gonna bat the

(30:44):
next night four times. Basketball you can get over a
bad shooting night. You can jack up twenty shots the
next night. Same with hockey. Hey, you can take more
shots on goal. It's football is the one whereas once
a week man, So it's very important to get these dubs.
I'm not worried because something nobody in dolphin Land is
talking about, which I told people early in the year, Relax,
it's a new scheme. Guy's gotta figure it out. You

(31:07):
don't get it in training camp, you don't get it
in OTAs, you don't get it in preseason. What about
the injury to a Shan He's not gonna be back now.
I'm not worried about that because I think Wilson Junior
is ready to go. Okay, so we still got our
two backs. Oh by the way, most tht so on
his way to a thousand yard season, so he's been
filling in just fine. So that's what I want to
point to the running game and the defense. I warned

(31:27):
people relax about vic Vangel. It'll work out.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Guys.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
We got players. But just because you got players doesn't
mean it's add water and stirred. This isn't quaker oats
instant oatmeal. Okay, this takes time. This is this is
prime rib. This is a pork ross on the grill
smoker overnight while you sleep. It's cooking and getting ready
for you. That's what this defense is, and you're starting
to see it start to full around. Let me give
you some numbers. First four weeks in the NFL, you know,

(31:52):
Miami's defense was ranked twenty first in the league. You
know where it's ranked right now, twelfth. It moved up
nine spots when you got guys that understand. Remember the
first four or four weeks you and I text about
Christian wilkins Man. Maybe that's why they didn't give him
the money. No, he was still trying to learn the
system and learn how to use his ability to go
against what the offense is trying to do and fit
Vangil system. Tell me ninety four, don't jump off the

(32:14):
tape the last month again, just like we saw last year. Right,
he's starting to jump off the tape. Last point, you
add number five, baby, what does he come in to
do first game?

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Back pick?

Speaker 4 (32:23):
What does he do last week? Seeing the game for Yes,
he is jailed the secondary XAVI and Howard can't do
it by himself on one side. You need your other guy.
Now that they're starting to get those guys Ramsey, Nick
Needam will be back tomorrow. This defense, dude, is not
that great on the ground. To Jets give up one
thirty seven a game on the ground, what do you
think Miami's gonna do tomorrow. They're gonna run the ball

(32:45):
down their throat. That's how they're gonna win this game.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Did I'll give you one set of numbers, then why
oh and three against teams that are about five hundred.

Speaker 4 (32:54):
Okay, I can explain the first game against Buffalo, Dude,
we just got to ask kick it happens, It happens.
It was early year. Buffalo had that rush. Listen, I'll
give that defense credit. It was monsters that day. And
since then, they've lost their three best defensive players to
season ending injuries, and you're starting to see what the
defense looks like when you don't have your guys. The
Eagles loss, We've already talked about that. The KC loss.

(33:15):
All I want to know is this, how is that
not a fumble by Mayor on Sunday? But Tarik's hills
scoop and score right before the half in Germany was
thank you? It was the same damn play. It's the
same play, but you let kids a city, pick it
up and run it in for a score right before
the half when Miami's driving to take the lead. And
then but when we can pick it up and run

(33:36):
it against the Raiders, you're saying Mayor didn't have it
long and of it, Tarik never had the ball, if
you really want to go there. So that's how those
three losses really shake out. They could have won the
Eagles game, They should have won the Chiefs game. And
we just got our ass beat against the Bills. It
happens earlier in the year. You just get caught on
the road. Everybody's healthy, everybody's out there. We were missing guys.
Didn't Armstead not get hurt in the first quarter, so

(33:59):
our left tackle goes out of that game. We didn't
have a change that game, like we had guys banged up.
We didn't have all our studs. I don't care about that.
Look what Buffalo's doing. Look what we're doing now, that's
what matters. Jets, Washington, Tennessee Jets again, dude, they're gonna be.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Eleven every three. Well, the only tough games they have
are the Cowboys. But they'll have that one at home
at home at Baltimore and hot Baltimore and then home
to finish up against Buffalo. That doesn't worry me as much.

Speaker 4 (34:22):
Twelve and five. Man, I predicted twelve and five when
the year started. That's why I get we could probably
drop that Baltimore game. But is Lamar gonna be healthy?
Is they're They're now missing another receiver, another running back.
Didn't Odell Beckham get hurt again? Didn't he tweaked something again?
So we don't. I don't want to look too far ahead,
but but I look at these next five. Come on, man,

(34:43):
the Jets, Washington, Tennessee, the Jets again before Dallas comes in.
Dallas is great at home, they don't look great on
the road. Then they struggle with Carolina last week before
they kind of you know, the Jimmies and Joe's takeover.
They just got better, more better players than Carolina does.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
The division.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
That absolutely the division. He's just done. Buffalo, Buffalo is
Josh Allen, Josh excuse me, Josh Apple turnover Allen ninety
two turnovers in the last five years, by far, the
most in the NFL. And Diggs and if that's not there,
he's just tucking and going. And I'm not trying to
even call it street ball or message. It's just what
their offense is. But two things, when you lose really

(35:20):
good coordinators in the NFL, it matters. You lost Brian
Dabo First, Okay, he actually got Josh not to turn
the ball over so much, not to have to do
so much, not to score. They were averaging thirty one
points a game. Then Leslie Fraser finally says, oh, you
don't want me calling plays, mister McDermott, No farm I
found Oh you know what, I don't feel so well.
I'm gonna go take a year off for mental health.

(35:42):
I don't feel so well. How's the defense look now?
How does the offense look? Down? He's lost both his coordinators. Oh,
Ken Dorsey, let's fire you. You get out of here.
It's bad when you start losing your coordinators. Man, they
played the Jets last week, Dude, they haven't looked good.
The Bills haven't looked good in the month. No, so
I'm not worried about them winning the division. They have
the hart his schedule left in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
Yeah, we'll see what happens against tomorrow against spoiler. We'll
get to that. Also, who needs to win tomorrow to
save their season. VJ. I want to come back. We'll
get to that a little bit. That's coming up next.
VJ Husky, Arnie Spaniard in for the guys right here

VJ Husky, Arnie Spaniard in for the guys. Jason Smith

(36:45):
and his best friend Mike Harmon showed just flying on
by almost at halftime. VJ. Who needs to win to
save their season tomorrow? And I'll start by telling you
we don't have to look any further, and maybe it's
too late for them. Then the game we were just
talking about, the New York Jets are four and six.
You drop the four and seven, forget about it. Even
at ten and seven you win the rest of the games,

(37:06):
which I doubt it might not even be good enough
to get you a wild card. The Jets would be
in serious trouble. They may already be eliminated, but they
have to beat the Dolphins if they want to keep
their season alive.

Speaker 4 (37:19):
I don't think solid jobs on the line. I think
his job's already done.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
Yeah, yeah, I think his job's already done. Let me
tell you why. I live in this world where I
believe matching up things works better than trying to go
against the grain. Okay, so in the NFL, what's the
most important position in the NFL The quarterback position, right
of course, So then you probably want the head main guy.
Unless you have just a bonafide Hall of Fame quarterback.

(37:47):
Then you can have a bona fide offensive coordinator and
things work out for you, I e. Tom Brady and
the New England Patriots. What is Bill Belichick known for? Defense?
Mainly defensive backs coach tim in college, coach mini NFL
coaching with the Giants, winning Super bowls with them, work
with the linebacks and defensive backs. That's what he does.
He was smart enough, though, say let me get a

(38:07):
real good brainiac offensive guy in here to handle the offense.
Our defensive keepers and games. You guys don't turn it over,
and when we need you to go down and win it,
you go down and you win the damn game. So
when I look at the Jets and I go, okay,
Zach Wilson's done, I think Aaron Rodgers is done. You
have to reset this thing, right, you have to reset it.
You went out, you went out. You you wanted a

(38:28):
running back so bad that you didn't want Miami to
get him that you you brought him out to training
camp and walk them around. I've never seen that before. Like, dude,
are you a cai'ting? You guys are acting like you
need to woo him. Hello, Brice Hall's doing just fine.
He don't look like he tores acl Breece Hall looks good.
It looks much better than Dalvin Cookie much bet. Dalvin

(38:48):
don't want to be there. That's the problem. When it's
not in your soul, bro, and it's not in your gut,
you're not gonna give it your all. He don't want
to be there. Everybody knows where he wanted to be.
He wanted to be in Miami, that's where he's from.
But Miami said, okay, here's six five million whatever they
put on the tach here, take it or leave it.
We don't need you, you need us. Fine, you want
to go up to New York have fun with that.

(39:08):
And he's having fun not having so much fun with that.
So I think what they are going to need to
do is line up their next head coach that has
an offensive style mindset, because I can read off the
list of head coaches and starting quarterbacks in the successful
ones in the NFL, that's what most of them are.
Chiefs Pat Mahome, Andy Reid, Eagles, Jalen Hurts, Soriani, Dolphins,

(39:31):
Tua and Mikey. Now Johnny boy in Baltimore with l Jacks. Fine,
you could go, well, he's a defensive guy. Yeah, but
he's had offensive coordinators Greg Roman, Marty Mortererene Todd, Mounkin,
carry Goobiat Calwell and Cam Cameron great offensive coordinator Minz.
Go down to Jacksonville, Trevor Lawrence. Who's his head coach?
Doug Peterson? Oh what is he known for? Offense? Brock

(39:51):
Party Shanahan? What is he? You see? You get and
people want to fight against that? Oh what about you
can name me two or three teams? But the most
successful teams in there history of the NFL. When you
have a franchise style quarterback, you better match up a
head coach that is more offensive unless you have just
a great coordinator and you have a Hall of Fame
talent that can erase some of your defensive mistakes. They

(40:13):
don't have that right now in the Jets. So I
don't think anybody's playing for coaching for their job. I
think Rob Solid's job, and he's a really good dude,
and he's a really good defensive mind guy. He's just
a defensive coordinator though, because he can't do the offensive
side of the ball. I think his job's already in
the camp.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
I thought he was playing the save it or at
least you know. The players do like him, though, don't they?
Vj there it doesn't matter wins and losses. Wins in
law doesn't after players like Okay, So you bring it
back next year and say Aaron has a setback. Now, what, well,
you got to have a backup this time. You can't
go without a backup.

Speaker 4 (40:47):
There's not a backup good enough right now that will
come into that franchise. With that bad offensive line. They
swung and missed on a few key positions. They swung
and missed on quarterback twice with the kid from USC,
Sam Darnold and now Zach Wilson, and they on Makai
Beckton at left tackle. You can't miss on those positions.
You need them, and that triggers down the line. When
you don't get that left tackle, it's gonna trigger down.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
Your I'll tell you what word. Halftime, everybody, take a
deep breath, go ahead and get another piece of turkey.
Will come back. Second half is next right here on
Fox Sports Radio.
