dad used to ask, what was the name of that
lollypop head looking at when I g I said, Billy
Ocean has a new song. I was like, wow, no
like no, no, no, no no, what's the trench coat? Though?

(01:10):
That one is a bit Now We're gonna take care
of out in here, because I like to think of
myself as a problem solver. We're gonna get to Derek
Carr in a second, but that one last hour, last
hour Harmon started the show. He's wearing sunglasses in the
studio right, still doing it because he wants to be
a reverent and it's bothering me. And I tell just

(01:33):
bother me. And you're wearing it because you think you're cool.
Are you give me this crap about I left my
glasses at home. You're wearing sunglasses in your studio? How
do you not have your glasses? You got my glass
you wear every day, but you wear them every day?
How do you forget your nine with my children? Nine
plus years? Nine years you've come in with glasses today.

(01:57):
I want to be and I told you bother me.
If you want to lay down like I'm on a
psychiatric is that what you'd like me to do? He's
had a day. Okay, I think you're gonna shut up
and maybe a little about my damn glass. I'm gonna
make a trade with you because glass is bothering me.
Now you're gonna give me those glasses? Asked me why
it's like a Jedi mind trick. You're gonna give me
those glasses. Ask me why why? That's why? Well, you

(02:18):
were very generous enough to order food for people tonight
and then the show. And I have here your credit card.
How did it end up in your my left hand?
I have your credit card in my right hand. I
have a Paris. You know what? You can cut that
up that I have a Paris? Actually really good. You'd
actually be saving Mike. I get a parent scissors right here,
so I get the sunglasses, or I cut a credit card.

(02:40):
Don't keep my kids from many purchases. So you're actually
doing me. What about when you want to go buy
you know, mean Gene Oakland's jockstrap on or you know
they haven't done a jockstrap if they could get some
of his uh mustache. If you want to really acting
like he doesn't have private reserve for that stuffing I've
been Hey, listen, go to my private reserve. I've got it.

(03:05):
You're like Tara Edgerton from Blackbird and hey, dad, go
get the go get the drug. Do they're all gone,
all right, go in here and now they're all gone.
Separate safety deposit box for that stuff. Damn right. So
I'll give you a few minutes to decide I got
credit card, and I got scissors and sunglasses. I'm wearing
my sunglasses at night. He can hear let's go, can
you hear the glass? Or or if that's all wrestling

(03:29):
full on and say alright, shave your head, or if
that's not a threat, I read your credit card number
over the air, and I will sue you for everything,
have to How do you know that? How can you
do that? You can't sue me for that? This is
free information. You don't think I can sue you for that?
This is freedom of information act. Like if I want
your credit card number, you have to give it to me.
That's freedom of information. And I looked at that. I

(03:51):
just looked it up. When I said, how did you
look up how to threaten someone with a credit card?
And that was a second? Can read it over here,
like I can read it over They be very bad. Move.
Here's the first few numbers, eight seven, five, three oh nine.
There you can start to start seven five writing that
down eight six seven five three of them? Do we favor?

(04:14):
Call that? Call? Call that number. See what happens is
it's still it's still active. Once upon a time, they
act it was for a long time it was active.
I don't think it is anymore. Why is there a
condom shortage all of a sudden, Jason, I'm calling it, saying,
Derek car to the Jets hotline, Do I press one
for more info? Back botty drops. If you think the

(04:34):
Jet should sign Derek Carr, press one, naw. If you
invalidate that card, then that Derek Carr Jets Jersey we
ordered you never shows up. If you watched the butt fumble,
press two if you watch it again just for giggles
late on a Saturday night while experiencing hangover like symptoms. Three,
if you're in a darkness retreat, I need to be
able to see the phone to press buttons. Press one naw.

(04:56):
If Joe name have kissed you on the lips, to
press sixty nine. Now whoa whoa whoa whoa star you've
selected regicide. If you know the name of the king
or King's being guild, press one. Now look at you? Okay,

(05:17):
So the weekend is over. Derek Carr is still could
be a Jet. Had a great meeting with the Jets.
I was getting pictures. David Carr said it like I
feel like they were they were like unofficial detectives who
kept sending me pictures of here's the dinner with Robert

(05:38):
Sale and Derek Carr, Like, what what has happened? I'm
not asking for these, but they're laughing and joking and
things are great. And I really did think by tonight
we'd be talking about Derek Carr is going to be
a jet the Jets, and I know, I know we
still have some times, but the jetson want to trump
at this. They this is not going to be a
news dumb any show up to bring it to oh

(06:01):
playing Narco to introduce Derek Carr, that would be pretty cool. Well,
Mario Ribera show up and beat him. Yeah, a loser
or introducing a loser, I would be who so full
of eight man? Why are you full of hays Man?
The L trumpet, the L you know what the L
stands for? Okay, okay, n't help it. Let's listen. Let's

(06:25):
just stick with Derek Carr with his eyes closed because
he can't even bear to look at me. And I
can't look at you in your glasses. I can't look
at Frostberg. I'm getting a headache, Derek L Car stop,
but that you know what I'm gonna have David Carr
come and just kick your ass. NFL Network studios are
not too far from here. I'm gonna say, oh, hey, Frostberg,
the food I ordered us here. Just go to the door.

(06:45):
You're gonna open the door and wham I to hit you.
I didn't realize his middle name was Dallas. Yeah, well
it's kind of I don't know. Maybe it's kind of
like the whole Ron Howard, the d c on. Uh,
you can just sack him everybody else, dude, listen, listen.

(07:06):
I am. I am in the acceptance phase of this
story because I know it's going to happen. I'm in
the X. I know they're gonna get Derek Carr. Now
here's my one little bit of ray of sunshine that
maybe it's Aaron Rodgers, maybe it's Lamar Jackson. They don't
want to miss out on a guy, right, They can't.
They can't miss out on the guy. And the Jets

(07:27):
want to be very fourth, right and forward with this
is the player we want. We identified him, we signed him.
They don't want to the Kirk Cousins situation of oh
hey we could get Oh no, he's just saying notes
you can go to go to the Vikings. The fact
that the Jets haven't signed Derek Carr yet, knowing full
well that he's available. They're the only team that that's
brought him in and talked to him, tells me that

(07:48):
they're still in on Aaron Rodgers because there's no reason why.
Because if you're talking about, hey, free agency, what we're
going to do. Um, if you're not getting Aaron Rodgers
they really really want, right, they really really want, then
Derek Carr is the guy we have to go sign.
And I would have to think, right, knowing the NFL
the way we do, Derek Carr is not going to

(08:12):
I thought that he would. He would have gone into
his darkness retreat and somebody would have had an idea,
right like the Jets would have known, Hey, you know
Rogers into this crazy as dark what is it? Listen,
don't ask me about I'm just the g M. I
don't really care. Uh, they would know going in, Hey,
you don't have a chance at Derek Carr. And I
watched this week and saying, okay, well, that's why Derek
Carr is coming in because the Jets were told, you're

(08:34):
not gonna have a shot at Aaron Rodgers. I don't
think he's keeping everybody's secret. They're they're talking to each other.
The Packers, you've heard them want to move on. Rogers
has talked about it. So if you're the Jets, the
reason they don't have Derek Carr right now is because
they're likely still in on Rogers because he would have
told them he's not. This is not I mean, this
is not Hey missed it. What are we gonna do now?

(08:55):
The NFL is a big business and teams know when
you deal with agents and teams they want to be
with above board or we're gonna have problems later on.
So they know and not that there not that Aaron.
Aaron Rodgers is Hey, he's definitely going to the Jets,
but it's hey, when Aaron Rodgers go to the Jets, listen,
he's gonna make up his mind. But yeah, he'd be
interested if it comes out, if he wants to play
um or no, he doesn't want to play for the Jets,

(09:18):
I'm sorry, he would like to go someplace else. That's
probably been put out there. So the fact that it's
not Derek Carr yet tells me they're still in on
Aaron Rodgers. Now I can put my pie in the
sky thing and think, oh man, they're gonna make that
offer and go get Lamar Jackson. This is gonna be sunshine,
lollybobs and rainbows because he's gonna play twelve games and
Mike White will play five and it's gonna be fantastic.
But I don't think that's it. I I they look

(09:40):
the fact that this happens. You know how people talk
in the NFL. They're still in on Rogers and so
but I do expect something very quickly, like Rodgers is
probably gonna come out tomorrow. Me I don't know. Is
he on Pat McAfee tomorrow? I don't know. But as
he can he be on from the darkness? Can he
beyond from darkness? Retreat? Like without a light on? Does
he does? He turn on the light and it's surprised

(10:02):
decorated in your team color. No, it's just McAfee in
a tank top and then the other half of the
screen is just dark. That would be that's what it is.
I mean, I think that would be highly effective. And
I mean it was just stealing straight from the catalog
of Bray Wyatt. Yeah, but that's okay, And the Wyatt
family and w w E is he there? Maybe he's there,
I don't know. It's Aaron Rodgers sounds up into the

(10:22):
candle or what. Oh no, they do. It's like Blair
Witch Project when she's apologize I'm sorry to Mike's mom.
It's just the side of Aaron Rodgers face going. I'm
sorry to Joe Douglas, and I'm sorry that Mark Davis
haven't made my decision yet. I'm so sorry. You know what,
I'm gonna need four days. I'm so sorry. I need
the rest of this month. I need all the way
to free agency. I can't, I can't, I can't decide.

(10:44):
I'm sorry. I'm sorry to Josh's mom, and Mike's mom,
and and and Zach Wilson's mom and and I'm Stacy's
mom so sorry. She's got it going on. I'm so
so I'm so sorry, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. We can
go cansole them all that sounds. But here, here's the deal.
Is you think Aaron Rodgers gonna tap out of the

(11:04):
hoop law of who's doing what in free agency and
what teams are doing. I went to the dark room.
You guys figure this out. Hell, no. We said this
the end of last week. It's like I liked your
theory of all right, he's gonna go the Derek Carrent
thing is gonna work, and we move on like no no, no,
no no no. Aaron Rodgers is all about him. Hey,
this all revolves around what I decided to do. So

(11:28):
you could go in for your visits. That's cute. Don't
make a decision. I'll be back, give me a couple
of days. I need a couple of days. And so
we really know nothing forcing anybody to do a damn
thing right now. And I'm sure he's still being told.
He said the Big Darkness retreat and he could say
things like uh, Siri or Alexa, give me an update
on NFL free agency, and you got that voice. Derek

(11:48):
Carr has visited the Jets. There is no deal at
this moment, thank you, all right, and then he just
ask questions. But we went through that retreat center in
Guatemala and what they do and one of the things
is food, So I gotta think they'd come and bring
you a tray of food. Maybe when it slides open
the thing to take the tragas any car news yet?

(12:09):
Did you book us there yet I was working on
and then he cut up my credit card, threatened to
cut up your credit card. I haven't done it yet,
got the scissors allegedly right here. You guys want to
do that over the summer. We can make that happen
before day after, but before days in Vegas drinking and
enacting the pool after. But Aaron Rodgers isn't gonna let
anybody else run this cycle. Like Tom Brady retired, he

(12:32):
owned that day. Bye see you. Now it's all about
me and my opportunity for the first time ever to
go and plan my future. I could threaten to retire,
I could threaten to move, but I've stayed in Green Bay.
Now a lot of it. You had the McGinn story
last week that we talked about how mad they are,
how cheesed off they are. See what I did there

(12:53):
about how they Aaron Rodgers, the last couple of years
have gone him and the floor and blah blah blah.
He can still decide to be a packer very easily. Yeah,
but no, but the but the packers, what you've heard
the story of the packers is they're done, so it
may not be up to him. Hey, no, we're gonna
trade you. Oh okay, Yeah, that's what we're gonna do, alright,

(13:15):
and he can go in and you can feed up
and say good luck with that. They're gonna making trust me,
they're gonna talk and make it look like a joint decision, like, hey, Aaron,
I've talked with the Packers after my Darkness retreat, and
this is what we've decided to do. This is what's
best for both sides. That's how it's gonna go. Yeah,
just the way they went in with with McGann. It's like,
here's all this stuff, here's all the animal of how
upset we are, go go, go go. But Rogers is

(13:38):
letting this cycle go until he decided. But many of
the Jets are still in on them, or they would
have had Derek like open, It's still gonna be Derek Carr.
But for the moment, I'm not changing my avage, Aaron Rodgers,
as a jet, I'm not changing that avage, no matter
how many, no matter how many pictures of Derek Carr
and a jet uniform you and Frostburg sent me on.

(14:00):
Not change. He's really gotten good at his photoshop editing
and his animation designs. I mean really, I I applaud
you for the amount of time and learning and understanding
that you've made the strategy over the past year, and
just incredible twitter at how about a fresca? Mike gets
swollen down The Jason Smith Show with my best friend

(14:22):
Mike Harmon. I'm telling you they're still in on them.
They're still on Aaron Rodgers. They are eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. Eight seven seven nine six six
three six nine is the phone number coming up. There
is another quarterback making big time news today who really
really wants to get paid. And I'll tell you what
it's going to get his money too. That's next right here,

(14:44):
Jason Mike. Be sure to catch live editions of The
Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern,
seven pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the I
Heart Radio app. You know, if I could, just if
I could just get a sign that Derek Carr it
is gonna go to the Jets and just give me
a sign. Just give me a sign. Here's your sign,

(15:06):
got your sign right here? Fox Sports Radio, The Chase
and Smith's Show with my best friend Mike Harpon. Happy
President's Day. Yeah, that celebrated all the lesser known ones today. Yeah,
Like I mean, it's is it like presidents just for
presidents if we are the media, if it was Lincoln
in Washington and they were featured prominently, and like what

(15:27):
about the rest. There's Taylor, there's Tyler, there's film were in,
there's Hays, there's William Henry Harrison I died in thirty
days showed up on my timeline maybe two hundred times today.
But yes, find our pictures on dollars all run sense?
Uh yeah, I mean is this like just presidents of
the United States or is it does I think we
can just add all kinds of president, presidents of universities,

(15:50):
presidents of fan clubs. Maybe it's for the band presidents
of the United States. Lump was that their big one presidency.
She's Lump, She's lump, She's up, I might be dead.
Usually after the first couple of chords of that, they
were on my radio. She's up next, She's Love's love,
She's in my head just kind of kept bouncing around.

(16:13):
And now that you've spoken that into existence, since our
phones and you know, different apparatus is listen, that'll be
suggested in one of my playlists before the Night's done.
She's loved, She's loved. That was leaving their big song man,
what was their big Oh moving to the country, Gonna
eat me a lot of peaches? Yeah, yeah, no, that

(16:36):
was a good But I think Lump did better. I
think Lump was a bigger She's Lump. She's Lump, She's lump.
She might be Lump's number one on Spotify. Yeah, Lump
and then peaches right Spotify? Now, yeah, number one? Come on,
that's a good thing. Hey, Dr Joe Rogan, all right,
you gotta know everything President met anybody like you guys

(17:01):
throw names around it. You don't put respect on Like
when you say Jay Moore, it's Lakers owner Jay Moore.
You don't write it. Frostburg is gonna get hired, Away
is gonna start making trades, trades, Jerry I comeing in
on trades with the Yankees? Uh? Is he gonna go
down the list of jobs you can do like a
Stanza that could be that could be a broadcaster. Um,

(17:24):
you know those observations and make them out the games?
Have you talked about I'm pretty smart, I'm lump, I'm lump,
I'm lump, I'm in my head. I hate you and
everything you stand. I'm gonna try to get the word
lump into the show as many times as possible. Hey,
you know what I had for breakfast today? I had
uh Quaker oats and you know, you know they get

(17:47):
kind of clumpy and lucky. I had some lumps in them. Yeah,
he's up, she's lump, she's lump, she's in my head.
You're really a hateful individuals. Sometimes I was gonna go
Billy Madison there on you what you had for breakfas U,
but you won. So Daniel Jones wants to get paid,
and he really wants to get paid. You probably saw

(18:10):
this story over the weekend that Daniel Jones, Giants quarterback
coming off his best season yet as a pro, and
him and Brian Dable were terrific together this year. He's
changing agents. I'm not happy with this agency. I'm gonna
go to the He's going from CIA, which was hey
we got you, we got you for commercial. He's going
to while Players Only, the Players Players Limited, Trunk Limited,

(18:32):
Players Players Limited Athletic. So he's doing Jeter's website. Players
Tribune's going that. So that was a big thing. Yeah, Hey,
guess who's on the players Tribune to type? Uh no,
no advertising, just just people writing essays. No, that's cool.
I mean that was that was a good thing. It
was then it was yeah, but you can make a
little bit of money on it. Okay, now you make
a little bit more, hey, no more so. Daniel Jones

(18:53):
is changing agents, and there's reports that he wants as
much as forty five million dollars a year with his
next quarter quarterback contract. Athletes first, Athletes first Athletes First.
I started a new agency called Athletes Second. I didn't
get a lot of athletes. I said, well, I have
the priorities, but you'll be my second priorities. It wouldn't

(19:14):
sign with me. I want to go with athletes first.
Well it's probably a good choice. Well will you make
your life choices and show did the players? Let me
ask you, how much do you like the song lump?
Because then, because now I'm interviewing you, you can't be
a client. Did you tell me that that song sucks?
She's Love's love? He didn't sign with the Rex Ryan's agency,
didn't Athletes. That's all. That's that's not too soon. That's

(19:40):
actually the right time because he is back in the news. Yes,
is not just for something he said kind of throwing
hot take. No, no, that was no, that was yeah, No,
that was that was that was inbounds by Frostberg. Frostbergs
had abound was we have to go to v A
R and decide whether the ball hits any part of

(20:00):
the white liner and that control. But it sounds insane,
right because you know, look, he's not a great quarterback.
He's not Daniel Jones is okay? Does he work with
the Giants offense? Yes? I always told you he was

(20:21):
kind of like a Josh allen Light. And that's sort
of exactly why Brian Dable brought out great stuff. And
then because that's kind of how he used him of,
Daniel Jones is a Josh Allen Light. But that's Josh
allen Light. The guy through for fifteen touchdowns this year, right,
he ran for seventy two touchdowns. That's an average number. Man,

(20:41):
Look at look at the look at the guys. Hey, Barkley,
Quadzilla was not here for your Richie James slander. Come on, man,
I'm not here for that Richie James him. I'm saying
the guy had a fantastic season. He's g James, Richie James.

(21:02):
But when he had fifty seven catches, that was the
guy that led your team. But it's not like Daniel
Jones has been great the last couple of years. When
he had better guys through ten touchdowns a year ago
than eleven the year before, the guys on Darius Slayton
when he was healthy, when he was still he got hurt.
He was a couple of weeks, Agotter, he's a great.
W aren't three? But no, no, this year they did

(21:22):
not have many great but stay healthy and then he left. Now, yeah,
but now everyon Ingram's great. All of a sudden, Wow,
Ingram's great. Peterson a right, he was pretty baby, wouldn't
He shouldn't have dropped the ball when they didn't throw
it to him when he was there. I'm gonna I'm
gonna shock you here because Daniel Jones is okay. I've
told you he's just okay. Does he fit well with
the Giants offense? Right? They were able to make the
playoffs this year, and he played well, ran for a

(21:45):
career high seven hundred yards, double what his previous high was,
and he stood run for seven touchdowns. The Giants offense
is not very good. Uh se kwon Barkley after the
thirty five carry game, he had a week nine, he
was done. He hit the wall. You knew that was
gonna happen, because when guys haven't had full seasons in
a long time, running back to given the ball enough,

(22:05):
eventually they're gonna hit the wall. That's what happened. So
you look at this and you saw the fun being
made about Daniel Jones. Oh, come on, come on the Giant,
Come on, what's Joe Burrow gonna get in his car?
What's this guy gonna get? I got news for you.
The Giants are gonna pay him because it's taken a
long time for the Giants to get back to the
point where hey, we're a good team, we're a playoff team.

(22:27):
And now you're gonna throw that out by saying we're
gonna start over a quarterback. You don't have a great
draft position. He'd be starting over in free agency. Who
knows if the guy you're coming in is gonna be
will fit in the offense like Daniel Jones does. And
Jones fits in with Brian Dable brought with him from
the Buffalo Bills. So it's really scary because the Giants saying, okay, well,
we're probably not gonna bring back say Kwon Barkley unless

(22:47):
he wants to take way less money, because we can't
do that right the way the NFL is now, it's great,
all right. We they took Sa Kwon Barkley second overall,
completely overdraft him. The Giants have been living with that
mistake for a long time. He was okay, us to here,
but you get by at the running back position. Now
you can't go pay Sae Kwon Barkley. Are you gonna
say goodbye to Barkley who defined your team for a while.

(23:07):
And Daniel Jones, you're not gonna do that. He has
he has too much leverage with starting over, and the
Giants don't want to start over. They've been terrible for
a long time trying to figure out their quarterback post
Eli manning, their offense post Eli manning. So they're not
gonna do it right. They they're they're they on the
right track. They got a sniff of the playoffs. They're
feeling the fever will bring some other guys in this year.

(23:29):
We'll bring in the number one receiver and yes we
will pay Daniel Jones, will cut some guys that we
have to Leonard Williams will take a pay cut, Kenny
Gollade will take a pay or they'll just let him go.
They don't want to put their future success at risk.
So yes, they're gonna give him forty five million dollars
a year. And then the argument of well, what's Joe
Burrow gonna get? Hey, guess what. Joe Burrow is gonna

(23:49):
get sixty million a year. Why, Because that's how it
works with quarterbacks in the NFL. You're gonna get what
the market were. He's gonna get sixty million a year
because Joe Burrow is better than Daniel Jones. And that
how it goes. It's like fans think and and and
some experts think or pundits, I can't call him. Experts
think that there's gonna eventually be a slow down at quarterback,
Like hey, you know what, there's gonna be Saturday's gonna prevail,

(24:12):
and there's gonna be that unofficial collusion of Hey, this
quarterback is gonna get this, and this quarterback is gonna
get this, and this quarterback is gonna get this. We're
gonna go incrementally. So nobody goes crazy, not it's not
gonna happen. Quarterback salaries are gonna continue to go up
because you're gonna have outliers like the Browns who want
to give to Shawn Watson two thirty million dollars guaranteed. Sorry,
that brought everything up. Oh, Daniel Jones wants forty million. Yeah, yeah,

(24:33):
he wants forty five million because he had a good
years coming off a playoff. The Giants don't want to
start over their situation for them, the Daniel Jones is
worth forty five million. This is great news for Joe
Burrow because Joe Burrow is gonna get sixty million a
year from the Bengals, and then when Mahomes comes up,
maybe you get seventy million dollars. Here, We're gonna be
in a hundred million dollar a year quarterbacks sometime in
the next decade. That's the way it's going in the NFL.

(24:53):
The salary cap is going up. Quarterback prices always go up.
You can you can get bargains at different positions, and
you can keep some positions down. We're not paying running
backs like we were, not paying inside linebackers like we were.
Quarterbacks are always going up. I'm sorry if you don't
like it, but this is not it's not gonna stop.
There's gonna be no hey, let's hit pause on the
whole marketplace. Quarterbacks will go up. A Daniel Jones will
get his money as the money continues to rise in

(25:15):
the NFL. Salary cap is gonna keep rising. Right. We
had a huge boost this year. You had the the
COVID year outlier. Otherwise it's always rising by a significant amount.
What is it, seventeen million this year is just the
change for one year. And now we're gonna talk about
new TV rights, all the changing of what's happening with

(25:38):
the Sunday ticket now and it's just a mountain of
cash coming in, which means, yes, put it back into
the team. Move that cap up, give them more space.
And you saw Mahomes and the Chiefs win now was
in an odd convergence of circumstance. Sevent of their salary
cap was in Patrick Mahomes and that's not even at

(25:59):
his high yet. So you're you're looking at the marketplace
for quarterbacks. We thought a couple of years ago there
might have been a situation because you didn't have the
A listers getting to the party. Well, Guess what if
none of those other guys are showing up, Guess who
becomes the A listers, the guys that were being c lists.
They're the most important people in the room. So if
you don't like Daniel Jones, too bad. He's the guy.

(26:23):
He is the star coming in in the sequence suit
saying Hi, I'm the big celebrity here because you were
watching Lamar Jackson. He's gonna get paid fine, Aaron Rodgers
has his money. Derek Carr is gonna get a nice,
juicy contract from the Jets or another suitor, stop another
suitor another parenthetically, I said it, or another suitor, because

(26:47):
it's not a done deal unless it is in my mind.
And you've been proudly wearing your Jets hat all night.
By the way, I should have to note that because
we're still in on Aaron Rodgers, we haven't signed Derek
car yet, which tell who was still on Aaron Rodgers.
So that's a good thing. Still open, still open, or
maybe they all turn him down. But the about that,

(27:08):
there's the nightmare. But for Daniel Jones showed great growth
three touchdowns per interception, completed six of his passes, yes
short intermediate game, and a lot of dump offs of
se Kwon Barkley, who was up there with Richie James
as your two leaders. Guess what Colliday was a bus
You took a swing. I don't know why you took

(27:29):
that swing with the amount of money you were gonna
pay him, given his five games he played his final
year in Detroit. But at this point, you've been there
and you just kind of shrug your shoulders and said
that didn't work, So now we need to move on,
So you go find him another Waterson. Plenty of guys
in a in free agency, we start looking at the draft,
even though you're not in position to go draft a quarterback.

(27:50):
And this is what bolsters the argument for Jones dual
threat quarterback dable. Obviously we've seen the year two with
him a rise, and now now we see what what
he can truly become. If you can go get another
elite or actually get an elite pass catcher and that's it. Well,

(28:10):
they wait, you traded him off, You got Gala Day,
you can't stay healthy. You took those swings another another
team that a I'm taking a wide receiver responsibilities away
from the g M. But you go take the swing
now in free agency, uh, and into the draft to
see if you can't find that help and what else

(28:32):
is going to be better in the marketplace, Because that's that,
that's the ultimate. Whenever you want to fire a coach,
whenever you want to get rid of your quarterback and
make them the fall guy for what's going on? What
are you replacing them with? And if you're looking at
this marketplace, we've kind of chuckled why Derek Carr. Yes,
there are some people that keep beating the drum on
the history in Las Vegas. That's fine, but the rest

(28:53):
of that class not exactly getting me excited when it's
all said none, no, Look, and and he was someone
who would they They stuck with him for a long time,
he got a long time decline that fifty year option,
and now they have to pay. Now it's like, oh wow, well,
but are they getting that year out of if they
give him the fift year option. You don't know. It's
it's worked out. Look, the Giant they have their guys.

(29:14):
It's really scary to go back and say, hey, we
just had great success, but we're not paying this guy
as a quarterback. Wait, what what are you kidding? So, yeah,
he's he's gonna get it. Man. I'm telling you people
and people it's like it's like the same people that
did complained, think, oh, the All Star Game needs to
go back to where it was. It's not going back
to where it was. Right, quarterbacks can pay too much money.
Guess what, that's not happening. It's not going back to
where Hey, wait a minute, we gotta stop this where

(29:35):
it is and now top quarterbacks gonna start getting fifteen
million dollars a year. No, it's not gonna happen that way.
Bankrupt right, That's really the larger point for both professional
sports and for entertainers. At some point, you have to
shut the hell up about how much people make. Nobody's
walking in and saying you're overpaid. You've been sitting there
drinking a cup of coffee and doing nothing for an hour.

(29:55):
He went out and had a a smoke, thinking break
forty five minutes, and you counted that full forty five
against us? What are we doing here? Be sure to
catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike
Harman weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific t J.
Clearly people are watching and listening to us t J

(30:16):
Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Carmen. That kool aidest schoolie band is not
watching us. And as we appreciate the presidents of our past,
Jason Smith gives you his top five presidents of all time.
Number one President Abraham Lincoln, Number two George Washington, all
the way to bottom John Adams. Oh that's oh Obama.

(30:40):
I was going with the whole old former presidents thing.
I have Obama up there. Obamas m bom is my
top ten? Sure, William I can honestly say he's in
my top ten. Never given one moment of thought as
to how I would rank through? What would you want
the present that top five? Who are my ranking in
the time in which they served? Or do I have

(31:01):
to wait thirty years? Two things? Get who who is
your Mount Rushmore of presidents? If you could put any president? Oh? Wait?
Really all right, there is one new topic, new topic,
if you could add to the president's on Mount Rushmore?
Who is your Mount regiment? President saw the stuff that
he did not not a president, but no, not a president? Okay,

(31:26):
moving on, moving uh you know we said Happy President's Day.
This is about twenty minutes ago. We talked about Happy
President's Day, uh and enjoying the day. We had fun,
and we started talking about the band, the Presidents of
the United States and the big songs Lump and Peaches,
and we had about a good three minute conversation of
the presidents of the United States. She's lump, she's lump,

(31:50):
She's lump, she's in my head. We're the first people
in twenty years, I think, in any radio medium to
talk about the president that they were big, right, Yeah,
that was that was years by thirty years president. Maybe
I'm trying to steal myself back a decade. They could

(32:10):
be hey, uh no, it could be President States Midnight. Okay,
right around the the grunge time, the grunge came out
right sore who's talked about the President's com company game
and kick their as you get out, you go ate
your beaching someplace else wherever. Other songs that are about
really depressing things. All Right, we're gonna make songs about

(32:33):
depressing things and you're gonna love it. Uh So again,
probably the first people in twenty years to talk about
the presidents of the United States, showing how much influence
our show has, right Frostburg says, dude, you gotta go
to go to Twitter. A whole other theory first, So
seven minutes after we started talking about the Presidents of

(32:55):
the United States, the band, the band TMZ put up
a thing on how American musician Chris Blue was twenty
seven years old when he rose to fame after starting
the band the Presidents of the United States of America
back in putting out top hits like peaches and lump.
Guess what he looks like. Now this is the real

(33:16):
TMZ with like seven million followers. So and this goes
up after we started talking about the presidents of the
United States. So before we started talking, I don't think
anybody was running what he looks like. Now here's where
we are. So now knowing that TMZ listens to the
show and we get out program, let me just say this, um,
get into the Aaron Rodgers Darkness Retreat. Tell me what's

(33:39):
going on, tell me tell me okay, okay, but first first,
go and tell me if I'm getting Derek Carr. Okay,
wherever you are whatever, wherever whatever New Jersey Costco Joe
Douglas is shopping at right now, get there with the camera.
Find out that for me, okay, those two things and

(34:00):
get into the darkness retreat. Because if anybody's getting into
a darkness retreat without the right, you know, just like
like like bum rushing their way in, it's tmz TM
is getting into the The potential is always there. Now
here's the frightening reality of this. As much as I'd
like to thank folks are kicking back on a Monday
night and listening to us and saying, hey, that sparks
an idea. What do I keep telling you? If I

(34:24):
didn't have to coordinate with you guys and my kids,
my phone would be in the ocean. Don't communication for me.
I'm out because the walls have ears, And I'm thinking
this is just you know, an AI thing going run
a muck based on our voices and the power of
the Fox Sports radio airwaves. So there we are, seven

(34:45):
minutes after he started talking about the presidents of the
United how much I mean, how many downloads do they
get because of us today? Oh? Yeah? Yeah, Like you know,
like if it's a I right that does this great
and it's automating and doing that, exactly doing that, but justice,
But did they suddenly get a boost in Spotify plays
and other things. How many more people are going after

(35:07):
Peaches right now? I'm sure they do. Are they going
after Herb as well or just Peaches? Nicely done? Coming
up next, we got a big lebron story coming your way, Fox, Peaches,
