I was gonna say, well, you have it by Fanatics

But just that's the part that I come away from.
And that's why this is not just a title again.
I you know, fifty years of watching sports, I had
three titles.

Now I had two and two days right the.

Hurricanes winning, Hurricanes win the Cup and I'm incredibly excited,
so much fun, all the stuff last night. But the
Knicks win is legendary, Like this is going to be
a team, an NBA Finals team.

Forget about the fact, oh.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Who's better, Who's you know, how good of an NBA
Finals team are the Knickson twenty twenty six versus the
Thunder last year?
Speaker 2 (02:39):
I don't care about that.

This Knicks team legends for the rest of our time
in the NBA, every last one of them. Like we've seen,
like we watched Jordan and the shot against over Brian
Russell to win the finals against Utah in ninety eight.
We're gonna see Ogannu Noby's tip in right. This Knicks
twenty six team is legendary because it's New York, because

it's fifty three years, because it's Jalen Brunson, because there's
a bunch of guys you rooted for, because you had
incredible moments and incredible comebacks. This is not going to
be a championship that you forget in a couple of years.
Like I'm gonna be able to draw on this and
watch all the local sports. Hey, here's your you know
SNY I look back at the next twenty twenty six year.

I'll sit and watch that for two hours. Yeah, why not?
I don't care.

I could watch like right now, every time I turn
on the TV pisses me off. Like when I turn
on the TV and all the different Dodgers channels we
have and I go, hey, here's the eighty eight World's
eighty eight Playoffs. Like great, when we gave that to them,
The Mets gave that to them, and David Cone and
Erosco and so some of the great.

But hey, Dodger fans have been watching that for years.
I'll go back and watch.

With the eighty eight highlights a like like, now I
know I have a championship like that. Not just hey,
this is a championship and me for my team and
that special. This is one that is an outsized championship
that will live in the pantheon of the NBA because
you see all the superl Tis already, the television ratings
for it, the amount of merch that's sold that will
be sold, the parades not till Thursday, because they got

to get sold. I guarantee you this will be the
biggest attended parade in New York history, in the history.

It'll be bigger than when the Joker was running down
the middle of the streets.

There were Joker in the in the in the remake
with Joaquin Phoenix, that was pretty big too.

Hopefully dan Housen made made some human money. He made

Right, we'll see if eventually it tips over and again
the heroes villains kind of thing like Wemby did in
this series. Right, everybody loves him. Now, everybody's like, ah,
he's a child, he's a jerk.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Whatever. But it's just sorry, I talk human money. Dan
housn't doing the human moneies. The human moneies. Need shows.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
More human monies. And then because now he's at the
end of his run, because there's no more teams to curse.
The Knicks won the finals and now he can't curse
any buddy. And now he might not make some human money.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
He's making a lot of human moneys. Now he's the
key advertisement. Ww he said that around my house all
the time. Now and my wife and Darna like, what
are you?
Speaker 2 (05:18):
They're going to come and gunch me in the head.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
I need some human money, like kid, I'll go, I'll
go get the car wash. I need some human moneys
for a tip. But what like what I did to you?
He's like, what are you gou to go? I need
some human moneyes for.

I introduced the greatness of Dan Housen before he became
what he now is and now.

He's the biggest thing going.

But just the idea with the Knicks players, right, and
we had this conversation what second round of the playoffs
of You may not like Knicks fans as this develops,
you may not like the media people that are New
York natives, Slash nick fans that are on air. But
there's not a guy other than Kat that came into

this series and into these playoffs with a yeah, I
don't trust Slash like that. Guy Kew was just a
guy reputationally. He'd suffered from defensive lapses or issues in
the playoffs whatever with Minnesota. Right comes to New York
somewhat of a clean slate, but then when things went
wrong in January, he was going to be the guy

all right, get him out, Bring back de Vincenzo, and
then he got hurt. But bring this guy back, do that,
get rid of Mike Brown and everything else, but everybody
else was an underdog.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah, we liked him in college. We liked the idea
of guys that are that are just blunch pale kind
of guys. And it works with the New York So
it gravitate. So you look at the anniversary of the
oddity that is the eighty six mets I look at
whatever the eighty five bears get together in the stories.

Hey, we got anything left for another book?
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Go pick all those teams, the guys from the Red
Sox when they break their curse and go on down
the line. There's these iconic squads, the Cubs. It's the
tenth Anniverse. Every one of those guys is lining up
to make as many human money. Oh can hey tend anniversary.
Didn't get the autograph when we were on the first tour.
Look we're back together. That guy goes and lives on

a farm for eight years and then he popped back
out because he could make two hundred bucks a pop
signing his name. Same thing's gonna happen with these these
Knicks players, and I can't wait to see it. I
referenced the fanatics fest. They've basically announced that most of
these guys are showing up. I wonder what a group
photo will cost, like eight and nine of those guys together,
because figure individually. I mean, I showed you the Landry shammit,

he's getting a buck forty nine and that's one hundred
and forty nine dollars of signature.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Imagine what Broun' said. And Og and Cat are gonna
cost you? Would you like me to sign here? Hey,
I want you to sign Hey.

Sorry, I almost committed a really bad foul on the
last play of the game.

I did like the John Tuturo when he was showing
a picture of Goes. He could be my illegitimate so
oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, which was kind of
funny in the grand scale. But yeah, this Knick squad
at least for now, And if they make another run,
then maybe they tip to the dark side if we
hate them too, because I look back and think about
the way we love the Warriors, and then by the

middle of the following year we love the Warriors as much,
and then it got worse, and eventually it was like,
all right, I want those guys to lose all the time.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
I mean these guys are on vapors right, like they're
on Good Morning America this morning, and you can tell
it's like wow, they're like like the the thousand yards
stare that og hadn't nob had him like why would
you put him in the front? But put him in
the back so we can just put you know, put
a hat on and and and clever guys sleeping in
the back. Then just leave him alone.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
I mean the straight Ahead had to say, oh, g smile,
just smile the worses you get the stuff, and awful
this question which is which is about Mike Brown and
bringing the team together whatever, And he's asking o Ge
and he's just staring, He's just staring straight through him
and to where they're all looking around.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Then and they start giggling, giggling like school kids. Right.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Well, but also did they get a nap before they
show up? But found I mean, I love it tapes
a little earlier. Yeah, but my goodness, I mean, you
want to talk about a forty eight hour.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Run that question where you know straighthand you obviously an athlete,
you know what he's done. Super Bowl champion. Okay, that's great,
and like how much did you just think? Like Stephanophlis,
I'm just like someone wrote that question for him and
handed it to him just so absolutely ask him about
the coach. H Okay, hey, don't ask the question about
the coach that really should be asked.

In this what did Mike Brown do to bring you
guys together?
Speaker 1 (09:30):
I mean, it's just and the way Stephanopflis was smiling after,
like I just asked the greatest question in the world.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
How what did Mike Brown do to bring you guys together?
Like it was a big philosophical look at each.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Other, Like was that the real question really you're asking
us about? Like yeah, okay, all right, not that they
don't like Mike Brown, but it's just like that's the
question you want to ask, what did the coach do?
Like like we're there, like we saig who let the
dogs out? That's he brought us together? And he said, Cat,
you're the facilitator like all the that's kind of fun though,
I mean the who let the dogs out?

Getting multiple runs including the Mike Mike Mike Little uh
finding Nemo Seagulls run and the shore the postgame when
they and they got the trophy and everything. So I
mean it's they're entertaining and the I mean they're entertaining
as hell like as a as a group and and
being willing and josh Hart knows he's got to wear
(10:25):
it for a while and it's he gets to exhale
because they won.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
I mean, just just to hear them talk about Josh
Hartsmith's layup in the big comeback game and how that
was something they were able to overcome. And then when
Brunson makes fun of it and josh Ar talks about
OJ's put back and he goes, well, I was just
setting it up to that big last play. I mean, look,
there's there and again and again you're seeing more difference,
and just in these things you see how the the
(10:49):
Knicks have managed the last twenty four to forty hours,
even after winning the title. Here's a starting five and
they're walking around together and they got each other's back
so they can joke around with each other. You can
see the chemistry that they've been able to able to
evolve from over the last couple of years. You could
tell they like playing with each other. They like everything,
(11:10):
you know, you know, seeing Kat laughing behind Brunson every
time because he had to answer every question like, Okay,
look guys, we're all cooked, all right, Jalen Gohid, do
you answer the questions right? You asked me right, Like
you can tell that this is a team that they're
a little bit older. They understood the stakes of what
the finals was, right. You know when when Jim James
Doll and we played the thing a few minutes ago
about how we said, uh, no sex for ten weeks, right,
(11:33):
and he said, listen, all of you, most of you
have significant others. I'm going to give them a ring
as well if we win. Like they're an older team,
they are all at a different part in their lives
where they have their partners, right, whether it's a wife
or a fiance or a long term girlfriend. And they've
lived their NBA life and they know the stakes. They
know what this time in the NBA Finals was. There's
(11:55):
no guarantee they're getting back there. I don't know that
they're getting back there next year. But ask me if
I care where they knew them. Like's why I say
the Knicks understood the moment and the Spurs did not.
And it's not that it's a Spurs fault. It's the
Spurs were young, and like you can't you can't make
any of that, any of those speeches, Like you know,
you can't sit there and say, hey, your girlfriends or
wives right, well, okay, because you guys are all twenty one,
(12:16):
twenty two, right, Like, there is that difference, and the
failure for the Spurs was the failure to understand the moment.
And some of it's on them, some of it's because
they're young, some of it's on Mitch Johnson. But that
but however you want to cut it up, like that's
such a huge difference in that the Knicks, to a man,
all knew what they were playing for. They all understood
the gravity of the situation, where the Spurs just thought,
(12:38):
we're gonna go do our thing and we're gonna win
because we've won so far.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Well, but if you look at the Knicks players, right
and any level of their time in New York, whether
they'd been there a year or two or however long
in their NBA continuum. Right when you're talking about Cat,
he was a first round pick, that's a decade ago.
Jalen Brunson is he was a second round pick, he's
already in year eight. Go on down on the line,
guys that were not necessarily cast offs but were a

bit of that underdog mentality and why you're on the comeback.
And then none of this is I think new ground,
but we pull it all together for this moment. Right,
we played the clip from Karl Anthony Towns, I think
it was after game two when he was on path
to maybe upset Jalen Brunson as series MVP talking about
the city of New York because they've heard that every

win and every loss during their time there right back
of the fish rap, all of these sports yakers nationally
and certainly there with megaphones in New York of how
important this run was going to be. So as they
start going through the playoffs, that magnifies and Kat going back,
we know what this means.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
To the people of the city, were of this city,
and it's about their respect. Like that line will never
fade from my thought, right, because that was the most mature, yeah,
and best perspective of all it. Like they all recognize
what it does for their individual careers. Right, Jalen Brunson's
now being called the greatest nick of all time. You
can fight about that decide he is, well, depends.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
On how old you are, right, I mean, I think
to a degree, yeah, right, Because if you're old enough
that you watched those teams of the late sixties early seventies,
could still be Phil Jackson's elbows. I don't know, but
where we sit right now, like that's for Jalen Brunson.
It's a whole legacy thing. It's also the nannin Ntebubu
moment to Becky Hammond and all the detractors, for all

these other guys. For Cat, it's validation for Ogian Andobi,
for Josh Hart, go Onut, and Josh Hart was one
of those guys. He was supposed to be one of
the next in the line for the Lakers, and here
he is across the and the other coast winning. So
they all recognize what it means for the pantheon and
the longevity of their individual careers, but certainly fifty three
(14:55):
years of long suffering Knicks fans and that they'll never
have to pay for a ticket. Oh yeah, and I
mean any parking ticket, any moving violation.

it up, you know, Jalen Brunson. The debate, is he
the greatest Nick of all time? I can't even believe
people are saying it's a debate. Yes, Patrick Ewing was
terrific for a long time. Other Knicks were great for
like Clyde Fraser was great for a long time. That
We've had lots of great players, right, Okay, let me

just ask you. Let me just go go through this
with you. Has Jalen Brunson been a terrific player, terrific player,
all star caliber player for the last four years?

Yes? Four years?

Has he when he came in? Did that change the
fortunes of the Knicks franchise? Well, it was one of
many moves, but try but that was the first one
that Okay, has he been their best player the last
four years most of the time?

Yeah? Okay. Uh did he win a finals? Yeah? Yeah?
Was he the MVP of the NBA Finals? Yeah? Disputed,
but yeah, scoring forty five in the last Yeah he did. Yeah.
Uh yeah, he's the greatest Nick of all time. I mean,
I'm sorry you have in New York. You have to win.
Just being good isn't good enough. No, you have to win.

I enjoyed Patrick Dowing, but like to me, he was
never the guy that it was the discussion of. But
like it's the let's go back to those other title teams.

He also is someone that changed the fortunes that they
drafted it absolutely, but he didn't win. Jalen Brunson's already
won and he was the MVP of I mean, I
don't know how you can cut it up any more
than that.

Patrick Dowings? The answer to what better trivia is the
MVP of the finals?

Yes? Who was it?

Relegated to a small box during the OJ chase in
the nineteen ninety NBA Finals after you.

Did Patrick other one? Did Patrick you make a lot
of money? He did? He spend a lot of money?
Even more so did he did he help cause a
work stoppage in the NBA with his comments outside? I mean,
I don't I don't know what else you can say?

Forty five points in the game emphasis and then that's
the thing is like for the for the entire run
of the finals. That's why you know we talked about
this Friday night. I said, listen, the Knicks up three
to one, and whoever has the biggest game five, there's
your MVP. Because Kat was the best player on the
Knicks the first two games, now not nearly the best

player of the next three. And Unobe had that incredible
game four, right, Brunson had the fourth quarter of game
one and he had the comeback all the way of
game scoring thirty six in Game four, We'll go.

Right, he's Johnny on the spot and hits the big
three throw right and the jump shot that had propelled
them to a tie before that.

Right, But he was bad. But he was bad.

So I said, whoever has the big game five or
the big game when they cla is going to be
the MVP. And forty five points in the clinching game,
ten points in a row in the fourth quarter. Yeah,
Brunson's rev.

The fact that you had all the guys sitting on
the dais for every one of these talk shows. Right

how to bleep this. Well enough, The one thing we
did get from Bridges that made sense his forty seven
videos was that you need to build that blank, blank
blank a statue. I'm assuming he was talking about Jalen Bronson,
referring to him prior prior video where he may or

But we did get that, and I think everybody could
agree to that head, right, yeah, his big head out

But yeah, no you need. I mean, there's there's a
lot out. But we got the statues.

The statue in his big head yes because which has
been immortalized on a number of trading cards, were actually
kind of funny.

It's like where they do these caricatures of guys whatever.

I'm like, you've really went out of your way to

like we watched Jordan and the shot against over Brian

Hartsmith's layup in the big comeback game and how that
was something they were able to overcome. And then when

setting it up to that big last play. I mean, look,
there's there and again and again you're seeing more difference,
and just in these things you see how the the

Knicks have managed the last twenty four to forty hours,
even after winning the title. Here's a starting five and
they're walking around together and they got each other's back
so they can joke around with each other. You can
see the chemistry that they've been able to able to
evolve from over the last couple of years. You could
tell they like playing with each other. They like everything,

you know, you know, seeing Kat laughing behind Brunson every
time because he had to answer every question like, Okay,
look guys, we're all cooked, all right, Jalen Gohid, do
you answer the questions right? You asked me right, Like
you can tell that this is a team that they're
a little bit older. They understood the stakes of what
the finals was, right. You know when when Jim James
Doll and we played the thing a few minutes ago
about how we said, uh, no sex for ten weeks, right,

and he said, listen, all of you, most of you
have significant others. I'm going to give them a ring
as well if we win. Like they're an older team,
they are all at a different part in their lives
where they have their partners, right, whether it's a wife
or a fiance or a long term girlfriend. And they've
lived their NBA life and they know the stakes. They
know what this time in the NBA Finals was. There's

no guarantee they're getting back there. I don't know that
they're getting back there next year. But ask me if
I care where they knew them. Like's why I say
the Knicks understood the moment and the Spurs did not.
And it's not that it's a Spurs fault. It's the
Spurs were young, and like you can't you can't make
any of that, any of those speeches, Like you know,
you can't sit there and say, hey, your girlfriends or
wives right, well, okay, because you guys are all twenty one,

twenty two, right, Like, there is that difference, and the
failure for the Spurs was the failure to understand the moment.
And some of it's on them, some of it's because
they're young, some of it's on Mitch Johnson. But that
but however you want to cut it up, like that's
such a huge difference in that the Knicks, to a man,
all knew what they were playing for. They all understood
the gravity of the situation, where the Spurs just thought,

we're gonna go do our thing and we're gonna win
because we've won so far.

Well, but if you look at the Knicks players, right
and any level of their time in New York, whether
they'd been there a year or two or however long
in their NBA continuum. Right when you're talking about Cat,
he was a first round pick, that's a decade ago.
Jalen Brunson is he was a second round pick, he's
already in year eight. Go on down on the line,
guys that were not necessarily cast offs but were a

bit of that underdog mentality and why you're on the comeback.
And then none of this is I think new ground,
but we pull it all together for this moment. Right,
we played the clip from Karl Anthony Towns, I think
it was after game two when he was on path
to maybe upset Jalen Brunson as series MVP talking about
the city of New York because they've heard that every

win and every loss during their time there right back
of the fish rap, all of these sports yakers nationally
and certainly there with megaphones in New York of how
important this run was going to be. So as they
start going through the playoffs, that magnifies and Kat going back,
we know what this means.

To the people of the city, were of this city,
and it's about their respect. Like that line will never
fade from my thought, right, because that was the most mature, yeah,
and best perspective of all it. Like they all recognize
what it does for their individual careers. Right, Jalen Brunson's
now being called the greatest nick of all time. You
can fight about that decide he is, well, depends.

On how old you are, right, I mean, I think
to a degree, yeah, right, Because if you're old enough
that you watched those teams of the late sixties early seventies,

was a huge mess and now it looks like it's

finally solved As soorsby has decided to opt for the
supplemental draft in THE. Nfl and maybe this is a. Decision, hey,
Okay Texas tech will lay off. You he's got to,
go or he understands Maybe i'm not going to get
to play this. Year who knows how it's going to
go because of the way this has been, Received so
it's better for me to go supplemental route and get

to THE. Nfl now he's gonna lose money this, year most,
likely although they're not asking for any money to get.

in for a first round pick For Brendan, soresby you
get Get Brendan, sword but you lose your first round
pick next. Year so where is he going to? Go
And i'm telling you he's going to get. Drafted he's
too good to not get. Drafted, yes it's a gambling,
scandal but this is college. Football there's nothing that happened
in THE. Nfl and he's someone you're gonna draft who's
gonna sit for a little bit talk about the mistakes he,

made he went through. Rehab this is not even though
this was, bad this is not something that's going to
preclude him from getting to THE. NFL i think if
teams don't take, him you're gonna see. Lawsuits you're preventing
him from making a. Living but this was strictly a
college football, thing and as we've seen in THE nfl
really doesn't care about what happens to you in. College
does this mean he's gonna get a second round. Pick
probably not if you want to ensure yourself to get

him with his skill, set, right he's a guy, again
and he's a guy that can do a little bit of. Everything,
yeah second round would be okay for. Him BUT i
don't think a team is going to say we're gonna
take him in the second round now and lose a
second round pick next. Year third round is where he's gonna.
Go whoever gives it you, know puts a third round
designation on him early in the third, round we'll wind

up where he winds. Up goes because a team can, say,
well where would we draft our quarterback of the future next?
Year anyway we draft him in the third, Round, okay
so now we could potentially get him a year early
because if he's, great we're getting a first round pick
where we're not gonna get him in the first because
he's gonna go in the first. Round but if we
get him now he comes, in it's a free year
to learn the offense and get in we see what

we have from. Him he's a free lot of. Ticket
third round is where we would take a quarterback that
potentially could be someone we. Like so, yeah we'll use
the third round. Now SO i firmly expect him when it's,
gun when it's said and, done that he'll have a
third round designation on. Him somebody will draft him and
a couple of teams will put in for. Him maybe you,

know you get a. Handful maybe he'll got like three
or four teams will put. In but someone will put
in for. Him they'll put a third round designation on,
him and they'll get. Him i'm sure a lot of
teams will put like a fifth or sixth round designation
just in, case, like, hey if this guy just slips,
through why not put a claim in on, him because
what a Week we could get a first Round picke
at some point for a fifth or sixth round. Equivalent but,
LIKE i think you'll get like three or four teams
with a third round draft on. Him third, round great on.
