(00:49):
Let me help you out here, Mike Carmen, because I
feel bad every time I say the scared Bears didn't
want to pick number one overall, I feel like I'm
hurting your soul. They trade the draft pick. They didn't
want the pressure of drafting the wrong guy or not
taking a quarterback at number one because they're scared they'll
all get fired. So we'll trade the pick and we'll

(01:11):
keep Josephiel I feel but I feel like I'm hurting
your soul, so I'm gonna tell you something else. No,
the only reason you hurt my soul there, buddy, is
is because we I don't engage in hot take nonsense.
And I feel like you're drifting down that road. Buddy.
It's hard for me to now, I'm trying to say it.
They're they're they're at the goal line of you know,
being scared or some nonsen. They were from the zone.

(01:33):
They were in the end zone of being scared doing
a dance. They were doing that b j Raji hula
dance after the pick six. Oh sorry, too soon for
that one. They were in that they were doing full game.
And then talk to me. They were not scared in
the back of the end zone. They were They're good scared.
We don't want to have no let's just trade the
pick and no one can blame us. But pragmatism is

(01:55):
here's a letter word in the Jason Smith house. You
can't you can't say that, don't you words? I don't
know what they mean. So what they've done so far
and we'll get back into what they've done so far
in free agency I love. They had a big day today.
They dulled out a lot of money. And this is
what you do in free agency. When you have fifteen million,
a lot of money, you pay for people. This is

(02:17):
how you do it. And the best part of it
is this, right, this is, this is outside of the
fact that boy, I would have taken Bryce Young number
one overall and kept that pick because just because he's thin. Oh,
he can't take him because he's thin. All right, Um
did his damage? Just close it. That's why they didn't
take him. He's thin. We can't supposed to actually like him,
the guy that they have and dying around him. It's

(02:40):
about the thin and he's only he's only he's only
five done here, but once he starts playing, he's gonna deflate.
He's four foot eleven, he weighs seventy three pounds. We
can't take this guy. He's not an He made me
Emmanuel Lewis. We don't know is this is? This division
is wide open next year because the Packers are gonna

(03:00):
be starting over. Jordan loves a quarterback who knows what
he's gonna be. I like what the Lions did, and
there's gonna be a lot of trendy picks to make
the Lions the favorite in the in the NFC North. Okay,
I get that the Vikings were the champs, but a
lot of things went right for the Vikings this year.
They were they got a lot of breaks, they had
the one play that went their way in a lot
of close games. So this division is wide open, and

(03:23):
if the Bears get everything right, the big gamble on
justin fields is worth it because now they have and
they have three good wide receivers or at least three
better than average wide receivers of varying talent, and they
can fill the rest of their holes in the draft
with the picks they got. They're aggressive in the early
parts of free agency. There's no reason the Bears can't
go from worst team in the league to we're gonna

(03:44):
challenge for the for the NFC North title next year.
Because it's not a great divid I'm not saying the
NFC South where you, me and Frostburg can go in
and say, boy, these guys are the favorites. But there's
no reason why. I love the aggressiveness of the Bears.
Instead of saying, hey, we're starting over, it's no we're
kind of we've started. We're now kind of reloading on
the fly as we realize we can get we can

(04:05):
make a bigger jump than people anticipate. I love what
the Bears have done so far. They're aggressive, they're going
after it right or wrong. They're at least showing, you know, hey,
we believe in this direction going out and getting some
of these guys. So that part of it I still hate.
You know, we're not gonna keep take Bryce Young, but
everything else about it going forward, I love what the
Bears have done. They're they're the big winner so far.

(04:27):
There's really nobody else but yeah, going out and grabbing Edmonds,
getting into the free agency market and spending the money
they did. Nate Davis comes over three years, thirty million.
You already added Dj Moore. Go back to the end
of last year. You added Claypool. While he may not
be a world beater, it's all about building component parts,
and so you've got more Claypool. Mooney comes back, Healthy Jones,

(04:50):
who was a high draft pick. We'll see if he
actually works out. You resigned Saint Brown, who is serviceable
at times as a third receiver, and now you just
need to upgrade a little more on the old line
and look at your run game to see whether Montgomery
and Herbert come back or if there's any kind of
change that happens there. Oh, it's it's a it's a

(05:12):
good start, right, And a lot of celebration, not just
a green you know, Chicago River going for Saint Patrick's Day,
but people all over social media in the Chicago media,
which is normally very acidic related to the Bears. A
lot of positivity on day one of free agency, now,

(05:34):
you know. And so with the Bears are here the
right we talked about about the Packers and this is
a big thing that I'm really surprised. And this is
another thing that tells me that there's no way Aaron
Rodgers can go back to the Packers. Right. Just think
about think about this for a second. What have we
seen the last seventy two hours, unadulterated love from the

(05:55):
Jets right now, Breece Hall and Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson,
all Gardner's backyard, and think about all that football talent
just in one closed space. Oh my god. And they're
burning a cheese head and they want Aaron Rodgers to
come to New York and it's yeah, but that's okay.
I don't think no one asks guys now. I think

(06:15):
if you steal a cheese head and no one asks
for it back, it could be yours. I think that's
a rule. I think that's a law. I don't. I
don't think it's not a law. So you've had these
three guys going out, going over the top for Aaron Rodgers.
You had Robert Sala and Woody Johnson flying to Malibu
to go meet with Aaron Rodgers. You had Garrett Wilson
and some of the other players on social media today

(06:36):
when they saw the early report that Trey Window tweets
out I'm hearing Rogers to the Jets is done. They
were all chiming in, very excited, going, oh man, you
know the eyeball, look at this, Look at this window.
The Jets. The Jets were all saying, hey, we can't wait.
Come on, come on, come here, come here, come here,
come here. Have we heard one Packers player say, Aaron

(07:00):
and you have to stay. Have we heard one Packard,
one guy, one guy say you gotta stay one guy,
one guy? Anybody did I did one on social media?
I should have tagged it and saved it to my
favorites and all I did not, But it was more
of the response because people were asking that very question,

(07:21):
why aren't the guys on social media doing backflips like
Sauce Gardner's like, well, they're not the Jets. They're not begging.
They've been a quality franchise for many, many a year.
The other is, as this player laid out, it's like,
we um, we have Aaron's number and we can communicate
with him directly instead of through social media, which I

(07:41):
thought was a pretty nice response. Right, So it's not
being played out in public as much as people may
like it. Of the begging him to stay. Nobody's standing
there like Cusack in a trench coat with a boom
box over his head or any of that stuff. It's
all being done behind close his doors. And look, they're

(08:01):
all realists too. They recognize the acrimony and the situation
that's been caused between team and player. So you also
don't want to get on the wrong side of the team.
It's very again pragmatic by the players not to fight
this one in public, right, But still, yeah, they're not
desperate like the Jets players. There there is that part, well,
look you know, but that's what I said right here,

(08:22):
the organization versus desperation. You talk about about luck, Jason.
Your guys are just out there making her look horrible. No, no,
no trapping, Yeah they are thirst trapping. Yeah no, you
know you don't you know, you know it's a trap,
all right. As the guys bad is Zach Wilson because
he's the guy that's got to stay away from social
media because they hey, man, we need you Eric, but hey,

(08:44):
I was a quarterback left. Yeah, you stink we need
you Eric. No, that's the guy that well, he's not stupid, Jason.
He knows he's the starting quarterback. He's never he's never
seeing the field again. Really really, Jets can never put
him back. You really don't think he's your quarterback week
one now? Do not? Of course not. What do you
want to beat? What do you want to beat through
hell or high water? Your coach said he's your guy.

(09:05):
It's not This is gonna play out exactly the way
Sala said it months ago. If every single quarterback in
the league gets hurt or quit or retires and he's
the only one left, they'll still go with somebody else.
Doesn't matter. He's he's he's done. He's done. But you know,
if you're the Packers, you're turning from Aaron Rodgers to
Jordan Love. You have no idea if Jordan loves any

(09:25):
good you know, Aaron Rodgers, Hey man, we were a
big time in the playoffs. We were we were step
away from the super Bowl. I know what an all
time Grady is. Um nobody is saying stay. Nobody here
is there is zero chance he goes back to the Packers.
It's it's it's really zero, absolutely done, zero chance really
back to the Packers. Insider said it was inching George.
The Jets not not happening. Like the lovely caterpillar creeping

(09:50):
across a leaf. Nobody wants them. What are you gonna
do when it happens? That's what That's what I want
to know. It's not happening. He's not staying. He's not staying.
He's not staying. I'm telling he's not staying. He could
retire or something someplace else. Hey listen, he could say
I'm retiring, he could say I'm going someplace else. He's
not gonna stay. He's that The way back to the

(10:11):
Packers is now blocked. It's like you went out. Now
we're shutting the door. It's like in a zombie movie
when the guy says, okay, I'm gonna go out and
get supplies. Okay, and the guy gets out and he
turns around six feet out and they shut the door
on him and lock it and they go, all right, man,
I'm not getting back in that door unless I get back.
It's not happening. I'm not getting back, all right, I
gonna go out and get supplies. Jason's Jets, man. Not.
I'm trying. I'm trying to help you here. I do

(10:33):
want to throw this one out though. It's like, if
you're Aaron Rodgers, do you do you really want to
do everything Brett Farve did. No, you look like you
look so soft and uncreative and willless in this like well,
that's what Farve did. Acted like a brat for several years,
acted like a bit of an ass, and then he
went to the Jets. He's not going back. It's the

(10:56):
Jets or nobody. You're gonna have to come to the
realization at some point that it's happening. It's the Jets
are nobody. Stuff. Can't wait to visit him, retire all
stuff you want talking about fuf false stuff and false
stuff is reporting that the Jets it's the deal's done.
That's false reporting. Do we know tray Wingo is wrong?
Do we know he's wrong? He put out, how do
you know he's right? Tray tray Wingo said, I'm here,

(11:18):
you're gonna listen to deal Wingo. That's not even don't
we don't know that listening know that he's wrong. We
don't know that he's When did he become a Jets insider?
We don't know when did he become an NFL insider.
Maybe he's always been a Jets and NFL insider. He's
an Aaron Rodgers inner circle. Maybe the inner circle is
Aaron Rodgers and Tray Wingo and that's maybe the okay
waits in the circle of ja. Maybe the inner circle

(11:39):
is Rodgers, tray Wingo and Mallory Eden's Maybe that's this
or maybe and that's it. That's the circle. Maybe tray
Wingo is dating Mallory Unions. Oh wow, no, no, no,
now that's a that's a triangle right there. Now that's
that you got said you said about I don't know
what circle. I'm recusing myself many of this stuff. But

(12:01):
the idea here is that all these insiders are well,
I'm hearing it's almost done. That's like your commission to
you got to put something out. You've been You've not
commented on this in twelve hours put out a tweet
about Aaron Rodgers. Put out anything about Aaron Rodgers. Well,
I'm hearing, like, what is that? That's nothing? Schefter, Well,

(12:23):
you know they're getting what are they in page fifty
seven of the contract quibbling over the word there or there?
I think he used this in correctly. Here. Listen, things
with Aaron Rodgers are never simple. I get this. He's
not just a just a regular dude that's gonna go
outside anything. They're reporting that it's close, that it's progressing.

(12:45):
If it wasn't happening, we wouldn't have this. Schefter wouldn't
have it. None of these people would have They wouldn't
just make up. Oh I'm hearing it's done. That's not
It wouldn't happen. Aaron Rodgers would be Schefter, never been wrong,
never been wrong. He's the talking He's never been He
send any documents for Rogers to review before he put
that tweet out. I don't think. Can you edit this

(13:07):
one and let me know how it play reads for you?
I mean, I don't know how he How can you
say they're wrong? He says there, it's it's getting right.
How you can't you can't say he's you can't say
he's wrong. Well, but it can't can't say he's right.
We can't say he's wrong. We say it's a bunch
of nothing. And Aaron Rodgers is still in limbo here
and but here he no, because if if tray Wingo

(13:34):
tweeted out today I'm hearing that Rogers is staying with
the Packers and it's done, Frostburg would be saying, tray
Wingo is the greatest in the world. How do you
know if the guy was on the NFL, he hosted
the draft, he did all of these things for so
many years. Jason, you gotta wear it. He's the He's
the smartest guy in the world. I've never liked anybody

(13:55):
more than a like tray Wingle. You'd be saying that
exact thing right now. So just I don't even know
right he was till today. You see you're starting sending
us his tweet. I see your angle, I see it
I see it. I like that. That's a great one.
I never knew who he was. I think I watched
that crap. No, that he's the greatest guy to here's

(14:18):
his birthday, I said him a Christmas card. I love
Trey Windle Wings. That's exactly what you'd be saying. Man,
We're gonna have to do sell checks on you once justin.
Is it gonna be Brett If Rogers doesn't Combray, isn't
Brissette and and Wilson bandling it out? Dude? If it
gets that, looks might be taken before the hundre point. No, No, no,

(14:40):
I think I think Brissette bucks after him, right, Brissette
and Taylor. No, no, the Bucks are after Baker Mayfield.
Go ahead, good good luck right there. The Jets really
should go get Lamar Jackson. We said I said that
two weeks ago, and and there you shut your mouth.
Yeah no, because here's what what happened. Rogers tells the Jets. No,
on Wednesday, the Jets signed Lamar to the all for sheet.

(15:00):
Wednesday night, the Ravens match it and the Jets are
going great. Taylor, Heinicky's our quarterback. That there you go.
But I thought Rogers was a done deal though, just
saying you want to you want to play it out.
I threw you a bone there for a minute that, well,
we do have to play it out because right now
it's a lot of nothing. He's a packer right now
he is, and then he's a jet. He's gonna be
a jet. It's happened. It's it. Look if Aaron Rodgers,

(15:24):
if this wasn't going to happen. Because Aaron Rodgers has
two choices now because he's not going back to the Packers.
We've seen this and it's either retire or be a jet.
Because no other team is making the moves for him,
he wouldn't be treating this with the fun anglely is
by giving a little bit of a hint to Brandon Marshall,
a little bit of a hint on a podcast, little
bit of a soul tweet that he put out there

(15:46):
a little bit ago, making people because he knows when
I tweet something people are gonna go crazy over. Because
the guy isn't tweeting in a couple of weeks now.
He knows. He's having too much fun for a guy
who's just going to retire. And yeah, if he was
going to retire. If he was not saying anything, if
we were not getting anything out of Rogers for the
last week, I would say, Yeah, I'm feeling a little
nervous right now because he's just too said. Silence is

(16:07):
never good silence there. But he's having a little fun.
He's having the Aaron Rodgers fun with it. So yeah,
I feel great about it. You're not gonna get me
off this, Jason, Who are you gonna stalk? When he
stays a packer? Who are you gonna stalk? I'm not
still gonna stay busy. I'm not The Mets will start
by that at the time. It'd be good. Twitter yesterday,
did you try Man? I sold out. I wasn't paying

(16:30):
fifty bucks for standing room for a spring training game.
I didn't care about. Mets are a tough ticket. Subly
people want spring training very crowded. Most of the stadium
were pretty full. It was good. Be sure to catch

(17:56):
public yet, but I will say this, I'm not picking
a one seed to win it all. I know who
I'm picking to win at all. It is not a
one seed sweet and it's not some chaos, it's not Syracuse.
But series will be asked to join the tournament at
some point. Actually doesn't realize, Oh man, a lot of
people would watch. If we put Beheim on for one
more game, they'll put him. They'll put him at some point.

(18:18):
This don't replace, they'll replace one of those first features. No, no, no,
I look at Beeheim's not there and I hate watch.
They don't have any juice. No, no, you sill me there.
But if he's not coaching anymore, my iPad dropped to
the to the counter. No, I did not. I'm so mad.

(18:39):
I'm throwing this at you just because I got my
Jim Beheim line. I dropped my eyepad. No legitimate like,
if he's not there and they suck, what what do
I watch? There's no hate watching. He would watch are No, No,
he would coach one more amorecion. I don't know, I'm

(19:00):
gonna act like a three year old. No, he would
coach the first for all these years, why would I
stop now? He would coach the first half of the game,
and then at halftime he would say, if they want
me back for the second half to let me know.
They got to make a decision at half time say no,
and then Adrian Archie will coach the second half. That's
how it's gonna work. Yeah. No, he'll be on Dan
Patrick in the morning. That'll be really cool. That's how

(19:22):
it's gonna go. Yeah, it's a final. That's how it's
gonna go. You had a good run. Now, before we
get back into the NFL, I do want to say
I actually have a Brendan Frasier story. You do. Brendan Freight. Yes,
best actor last night for The Whale, and pretty controversial
because not many people liked the movie The Whale, but
they liked his perform It was about a whale. He

(19:45):
was about a guy that gets eaten by a whale.
He was shown. Yeah, he spends time inside the whale
and then he breaks out and he fights the mummy,
and he kills the mummy and and him and Rachel
Weiss go off together a tale. Uh No, you're not
of a tent like Jack Black. No, no, in that
movie that everybody hates now yeah yeah, yeah, So let

(20:07):
me just say because I I can't believe it, like
this is a guy whose career was just where was
it right, like like like up up until up until
the Whale because he was an it guy in the
late nineties into the early two thousands, and then that
was kind of it, right, that was kind of it's
like okay, like he was hoping like he could tell
how grateful he is at this resurgence of his career

(20:32):
because who was putting him in things? But I gotta
take a risk. So I'm gonna do the way I'm
gonna do the Whale, and I'm gonna be under a
lot of prosthetics, and I'm gonna give a great emotional performance.
And this is how you went Oscars, right. I gotta
play somebody. I gotta do a biopic, or I gotta
put some kind of crazy uh makeup on or some
kind of suit. I gotta change how I look. That's
how you went Oscars right, And he followed that. But

(20:52):
here's my Brendan Frasier story. When I was at ESPN,
you know, I told you for a long time, my
gig was the day of the SPS. You be on
the red carpet interview everybody coming on the Red carpet.
They had me do it because not only did I
know all the the athletes. But I'm, you know, big
in Hollywood, knowing all the actors, so you were then?
So yes, which so who got mad at you? So

(21:14):
I said Hugh Grant. I said, Hugh, what the hell
are you wearing? He said blank you. I said, I'll
kick your ass, you Greg you my suit? You still
owe me money from nine months and that was a
long time. So. Uh So we're on the red carpet
and I see Brendan Frasier's walking by. And the thing
is with on the red carpet of the SPS is
their publicists are always very They're very um attuned to

(21:36):
who can can bring that person a good red carpet experience? Right,
They're not going to put somebody on where you know,
they don't know that person's career and know who they are,
and the interview is not going to go well. Like
I had publicist, there was one publicized still remember was
crying coming and going, can you please talk to my client?
It's this person And I just didn't know who they
were because I think it was an X Games athlete

(21:57):
that I just didn't know. And I'm like, yeah, I could,
but Julius Randall doesn't want to talk to me no,
and I said, I'm sorry, I just don't know their
career and it's not I don't know what else I
could just ask them anything. And I'm like, that doesn't
help your client. I know that your client's like, no
one's talking to me on the red carpet. But worse
is if you come talk to me and I ask you,
what are you wearing? Are you excited to be here? Great?

(22:18):
Thank you very much, It's not going to be a
good experience for them. So there's publicists who did that
and they're like, oh no, no. But like his publicist
goes by and looked at me and I said, yeah,
can Brendan come over? And then they go, oh, yeah, sure, sure.
So he comes over. And it was right before the
Mummy sequel came out, right, there was Wummy two or
the Mommy three, I forget which one it was. And
he comes over. Nicest guy in the world. I'm Brendan.
I said, Hey, Brendan, I'm Jason. Shakes my hand. How

(22:40):
are you doing? Oh? How is it here? Great? You know,
do you like doing this? Yeah? Nicest guy in the world.
I said, all right, now, I know you have the
Mummy coming out, but I want to talk to you
about my favorite movie yours. He goes, okay, and he
says to me, tell me it's a good movie. To
tell me it's a good movie that you like. And
I said, my favorite movie yours is School Ties and
he goes, oh, I love making that movie. Man. I said,
you look like you could sling the foot because oh,

(23:00):
that was all me. That was all me. I was
throwing Meanwhile it was stunt people. But he's like, that
was all me. I can throw that football. I think,
what did I have in that? And I said, I
have your fantasy stats for me? Where where is it?
How many touchdowns? That have? Great? Great interview? Right, But
the whole time he's looking over at Jet Lee, who
is on the red carpet with him and who was
his co star in the Mummy movie. And he and
he's looking over at jet Lee. Okay, and you know,

(23:21):
we finished the interview. We're talking, and he says, hey,
you'll you'll talk to jet right, And I said, yeah, sure,
have jet Lee come over. He was, oh, great, great, great.
So we're like, all right, so he's gonna leave. He was, oh, wait,
ask me one more questions. We asked. We asked me
one more question, and I said, what he said? He
wanted me to set him up with a question about
the Mummy or something like that, and so I asked
him with that and he already he gives me a
great answer. I'm like, okay, really cool, really cool, thank
you us? And can I can I jet come over now?

(23:44):
And I said sure, one hundred percent. So jet Lee
comes over and he goes, all right, they jet come
on over and jet Lee comes over and it's the
rarest sight in the world because I saw jet Lee smiling,
and jet when have you ever seen Jet Lee smile
in a movie? Never? And he's the he's and he's
so happy, and I'm talking to him about his movies
and he's going to the Olympics. That did and I said,

(24:06):
I would have been kind of cool. And I said,
jet I said, I can't believe that. I said, dude,
I've never seen you smile. You always give me the
jet Lee face I need. He gives me the real, mean,
gently face. I'm like, oh man, he's gonna kick my
ass right here. Oh my god. So then but then
he goes back and he's smiling. We talked, we have
a great time and I waved and and Brendan Fraser turns.
He waves to me at the end, and I just
thought that was the coolest thing. Where here he was

(24:28):
enjoying his career and he, you know, someone who knew
his career, was familiar with it and talked to him.
But he was most concerned that I would talk to
jet Lee, that I would talk to him and have
him to come and come down the red carpet, because
I'm sure there were people who were wandering odd you know.
You know, I don't know, you know, as jet Lee,
how how much you know is he? How fluent is
he English? You know? When I asked him some questions
that maybe if they have to do with sports and

(24:49):
everything else, but I'm I don't know. I mean, I
don't know what people but you know what people think.
But he was great, and he was great, and he
came and he came over and he was asking. It
was fun and like I dugged it. His favorite part
of it was, you know, hey, you know, I want
I want you to talk to jet Lee. And that
was awesome because I I don't know when people are
coming on the red carpet, like, hey, can I really

(25:10):
go talk sports? With this guy, like, I are very
afraid that someone's gonna come over and I'm gonna ask
him crazy sports questions and they're gonna go. I know,
like like like when I asked jet Lee, Hey, jet
how do you think the Mets are gonna do? Like,
I don't know if you do, but I'll stop what
I'm what I want to talk to about his career
and about the movie and everything else. So I know
that there's that bit of trepidation that exists no because
of that. And so when when he would but he

(25:31):
would say, he was like, hey, hey, it's almost like
he was telling he was he telling jet Lee and everybody.
He had a couple other people with the movie that
came down to it's like, hey, you're good, come here,
come here, come here, come talk to this guy. Come
talk to this guy. So but I just can't get
over how he was. He really wanted to go out
of his way to go, hey, everybody you know or
you know, hey, jet Low's coming in to talk to you.
And it was awesome. And I always know that every
time I think about it, I think about that from him,

(25:51):
well looking out for other folks. I mean, that was
what ten years after Lethal Weapon when he made his
debut on a big screen here, right, so you know,
but still the characters, the persona, but having Brendan Fraser
look at you and kind of annoy you as a
safe guarret guy on the carpet and that's gonna have
fun with him, that's kind of cool. Yeah, yeah, it

(26:13):
was fun, he was It was a It was a fun. Yeah.
You can't think I figured, but I figured everybody would
go Bedazzled, really and everybody, God, nobody has. Oh but
Dazzled was such a good movie. I would just ask
him questions about about Elizabeth Hurley. I would hey, were
you in that movie? Because I just remember Elizabeth Hurley.
I'm sorry Instagram, have you seen some of the stuff

(26:36):
she Remember that one time she was dressed at the
Devil That wasn't wasn't that cool? Wasn't that really cool?
But yeah, but I always thought about that, about how
much Gret was that he that he did that. It
was like looking out for jet Lee because I understand
that in Hollywood there it's like I gotta be you know,
I don't want to put myself in a situation where Okay,

(26:57):
I'm not in control here and and am I gonna
get crazy sports question? Jens, Am I gonna get this? Like, no, dude,
come here, We're gonna have some fun. Come on, come on,
come on, We're all good. I'm familiar, I know your career.
Come on set. And that's how I got a lot
of my great interviews because there were so many people
on the red carpet that nobody else would talk to.
I'm like, now, come here, come here. Because so many
sports people were there and they're like, okay, I mean
you got you got entertainment tonight. He's there in a
couple other places. But but it's just safe space for

(27:19):
the sports guys. But if you're there as a celebrity,
either pitching a product or just coming to hang out,
you know, sometimes you get lost in the crowd and
it becomes the what are you wearing? Hugh Grant kind
of moment. Well, it is so damn hot on that
red carpet. I burnt out, Literally it is. It's very hot.

(27:40):
It's very whether it's red or champagne, it is a
very hot carpet. It's very very hot. Twitter and out
about a fresco. Mike gets smallen up. Yeah, you know,
the champagne. I wasn't a big fan of the champagne
carpet last night, wasn't a big fan. Wasn't a big fan,
and I saw that didn't get it didn't go over
well because people thought that people's dresses got lost in
the champagne carpet, like so many people wore these like

(28:00):
white ball gowns by that they didn't pop because there
was a champagne carpet, which kind of washed that a little.
That that's why there's no dresses in the champagne room.
I never thought of it. Well, you know what, that's good,
good point for Frostburg. Thank you for calling or selling
from your experience that Jason told me that school Ties

(28:23):
is a really underrated movie. One of nobody stars and
there were so many people in the I think that
was Matt Damon's first movie. Well yeah, yeah, Chris O'Donnell.
You remember he played Robin and Batman and Robin. Yeah,
nobody remembers that, remember was he was Robin? That was
pretty cool. That was my shameless attempt to try to
get the music played again to see I want to

(28:45):
hear you two. Be sure to catch live editions of
the Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten
pm Eastern seven pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and
the iHeart Radio app Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith
Show with My best friend Mike Harmen. I'm gonna eat
that ass up. This song is also a clue that
Aaron Rodgers is gonna be a jet and if you

(29:05):
know that, but it's it's a clue. It's turn it off.
It's a clue. It's a big clue. It's another red herring.
So why is that Trey Windows favorite song? Stop like
sculptures of sunset tweeting out a sunset picture after earlier
in the day, tweeting out I'm hearing Rogers and the
jets is done and the sun is setting on another day. Okay,

(29:27):
you got got, you got God, you got done. That's
a great reference. By the way, what do you mean
you're getting? You retweeted his tweet, So you got got?
I quote tweeted it and said, you know what, we'll
get to that in a few minutes. You know. Sorry,
but we're going to talk about your guy wanting a
trade because he'll always be my guy. One of the

(29:49):
top running backs in the NFL wants out awesome. Eckler
of the Chargers. The Chargers and he are unable to
come to terms on a contract extension, so he is
getting permission to pursue a trade. And first from the
from the Charger's perspective is unfortunately, I get this. I

(30:09):
get it from him. He's gonna be twenty eight, which
is you know, you're getting into late middle age now
for running back in the NFL. And you know, the
whole injury thing for him is a bit of a misnomer.
He's played in sixteen games every year, at least sixteen
every year but one. But the bottom line is that
they have had the best of his career and they

(30:29):
haven't won anything. I haven't really gone anywhere. They havn't
had big runs. It's up at all aust Nichol has
done this and done this and not done this. It's okay,
we've had him where he's a guy that's gonna total
eighteen hundred yards from scrimmage a year for us. Right,
His fantasy output is tremendous. Right, every's loved in the
fantasy community, obviously, But when you look at football from

(30:49):
the on field, they've had him, they've had his best
and they've not been able to win. So now that
you are Justin Herbert driven, who's one of the best
young quarterbacks in the league. Yeah, you don't need to
invest in all that money in his position. It doesn't
mean that that giving him money you're gonna be you're
throwing it away. It's just okay, Well it's money you
can't spend other places because of the salary cap. And

(31:11):
if you are, if you're quarterback driven, now I get it.
You were at quarterback driven for a while. It was
the end of Philip Rivers. What are you gonna do?
Eckler's your guy, I get it. But now you are
quarterback driven, so you are moving your resources to different
places now and you play a non premium position as
good as this production is, and the Chargers need to
kind of scale that off as a little bit more

(31:31):
towards Justin Herbert. So yeah, I get it from the Chargers.
It sucks. Eckler's a great guy. You know, we've seen
him on social media doing great things and as a
fun dude, and he's a really, really good player. But
I get the Chargers moving on from him, and you
want to move on from a guy like that. A
year before rather than a year later. So I completely
get this and understand this. It sucks, but I get it. Yeah,

(31:52):
getting rid of that one hundred and seven receptions and
trying to figure out where that works when you have
still questions about your ability to run the football consistently. Yes,
he has one hundred it's it's one hundred and seven
more for Kingdom Allen. That's well, he is coming back.
How much is he healthy? Is the trade and trainer
change going to keep him on the field or Mike Williams, Oh,

(32:13):
I'm sorry, sorry, Frostburg. I had to do it in
the line of questioning here. But again, this is another
Weasley tweet. Eckler is requesting permission to speak with other teams.
He hadn't even gotten permission Smith, they could tell him
to beat it about a potential trade after preliminary talks
with the team aimed at a contract extension did not progress.

(32:35):
So at this point it's a all right, he wants
to his agent reached out and said that he wants
to try to get a trade, so put it out
there and work through it. But to say that his
value to this squad like running backs and even quarterbacks
as we see with Lamar Jackson, you have value that's
going to be greater in certain schemes and offenses as

(33:00):
set up now, the Charges will make some changes. You
bring in Kellen Moore and we'll see how that progresses.
But the way the wide receiving room has worked in
the past, unless you bring in some other guys, and
I like Josh Palmer a lot, you're still gonna need
that safety valve. Can you just replace his production that
easily and his nose for the end zone? I would
say no. I would think that what they would do

(33:22):
is this is we're gonna have a core of running
backs and we're gonna have two or three guys we
bring in it out of the lineup that can that
can do that. Do we run the ball probably not
nearly as much. Do we throw the ball more? Yeah,
because you want the ball in the hands of Justin Herbert.
You know, every play he gives the ball up, he
doesn't get to throw the football. So yeah, Austin Ekel
was a good player. But when you haven't won anything,
I get it, you know. I mean it's if they

(33:44):
were close anything with Justin Herbert, should they move on
with him? But Justin Herbert's a young quarterback who's been
in the league for you know, three years now. This
is awesome. Oh, I'm just having fun with you as
a running back, you know, I mean, I get it.
I look, it's a quarterback league and it you know,
the position he plays, it sucks. It's as big of
a of a of a importance like it was. But yeah,

(34:04):
I'm all for changing things up a little bit because
if you're gonna throw this team back out there next year,
is how are they gonna do? Are they going to
be any better? Are they going to be a super
Bowl threat? Maybe you move things around a little bit
and suddenly just Herbert throws for forty five touchdowns and boy, like,
we can't stop this offense now because now we're throwing
the football even more with this guy. I think it's
time to make a big It's time to make a

(34:26):
big change. And if he goes out there, he finds
his trade. I think you let it happen. I like
it that you're going to move past the wedding crashers
offensive hot round Eckler get open again because I'm about
to get smashed to the ground again. I do like
your optimism that the offensive line play, would Slater returning
and what other moves they make is going to keep

(34:47):
Herbert up right long enough to get to that forty
five touchdowns? I think we would all be entertained by
that happening for sure. Yeah. Well, look, if it's a
case of we take this money and we go someplace else,
Edward were able to spend it, and we're you have
to do something right, I mean, you're you're you're stuck
in this circle of Hey. Every year we think we're

(35:08):
somewhat of a contender, but we get to the end
of the season and we're just above five hundred, and
maybe we get in the playoffs, maybe not. I think
it's time to go bold. I don't mind the boldness.
If that happens, it's good. He's under contract, so be
either player, don't. Yeah, listen, if the Jet you can
request all you want, that's fine. That's fine. Twitter and
out about a Fresca Mike. It's swallen down The Jason

(35:29):
Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon. Coming up next,
Aaron Rodgers is not a Jet yet? Why I am
not worried? And did he give everybody a clue? Earlier
tonight on social media. What he's gonna do that's coming
up next to the tirect dot Com studios. Sue Fox
