You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Hello, Welcome in side final hour tonight The Jason Smith
Show with the Big Dog Ryan Hollins in for Mike Harmon.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Well dressed Hobo, And now.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
You think about where we started with the show. Ryan, Hey,
the Nicks win to Zip awesome, going to the finals everything, Baba,
Now you gotta talk me down.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
The status of og Anuno before the Knicks, who has
had an incredible playoff basically ever since Ann Hathaway said,
Oh we're an ojdrip. Maybe it's the Hathaway curse. Now
I'll we're in og Jersey. Now he's hurt. Anunobi, who
had a terrific first round even better start to the
second round was great tonight. Bang knees uh. Near the
end of their win tonight over Philadelphia didn't play the
(01:14):
final three minutes. Mike Brown does not have an update
on og Anunobi, and uh, maybe it's a contusion, could
be hamstering, could be anything. We have no idea. And
now all of a sudden, I'm going I've gone from
Ryan from We're gonna sweep the Sixers and we're gonna
sit around and get rest, and we're gonna get the
Pistons and let's go to Now I'm like, this series
is gonna be two to two coming back, and then
(01:35):
Bead's gonna go nuts when he returns in Game three,
and Sixers fans are gonna buy all their tickets and
Knicks fans are gonna say, oh, this is happening to
us again. We had such control over this series. Now
it's too too we don't have And now Nobi like,
this is what happens to me over the course of
three hours when we go from hey, everything is great, too, ah,
disasters right around every corner.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Well, you're you're probably gonna get some warm Olympic right
or Jordan Clarkson, So it it could be worse.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Don't tell me that, Like that's okay, Come on, well.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
You act like Philadelphia just played with Joel Embiid. They're
they're injured too. I mean you I don't care about them,
you know you of course you care, but you know
you gotta be fair. So it's not like Philly's firing
on all cylinders either.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
No they're not, No they're not. But this certainly the
Sixers took them all the way to the end tonight
without Joel Ebid. And quite honestly, look with the NBA,
especially the playoffs, being so much about matchups, right, you
get to the first round of the playoffs and everything
we saw in the regular seasons out the window because
maybe you know it's a one eight series, but boy,
(02:47):
the eight to one is a bad matchup for the
one or three six it's a bad matchup for the three. Right,
being all about the matchups with Embiid, it was a
horrible matchup for the Celtics, right. Embiid comes back and
the Sixers win the last three games. They had no
answer for him, and you sat back and said, wow,
look at the Sixers. I was scared of the Sixers
coming into the series. You know, a couple of vets
(03:08):
they can go with, and Embid's gonna cause problems for
Karl Anthony Towns, but they'll ride the young legs of
Maxi and Edgecomb like I was scared, but okay, Hey,
the way things went in Game one, they tried to
force feed Embiid early, it didn't really work and the
Knicks win by thirty. Maybe the better matchup for the
Sixers with the Knicks is Embiid not playing, because hey,
(03:31):
then you force Maxi and Edgecomb to really control the game,
you get more athletic on the court. They're able to
pressure the Knicks more defensively because the Knicks had trouble
with the with the Sixers defense down the stretch. Luckily
they had their timeouts to get out of a couple
of bad situations. But maybe for you know, this round
without Embiid, this freeze things up a little bit more
(03:51):
for the Sixers to play more how they played during
the season with him, And maybe that might be a
better matchup with the Knicks, because look, I've seen Maxi
go crazy single handling win games against the Knicks a
lot in the last couple of years. And seeing the
way I knew the game would start tonight, I said, Max,
He's going to be huge tonight. They know they got
to get him the ball. They got to get him going,
what do you have nineteen points in the first half.
I said, Man, he's going to do this to a
(04:12):
single handedly. So even without Embiid, maybe this matchup with
the Knicks isn't the worst thing for the Sixers.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Yeah, but the for the Sixers, they want to think
longevity and at the end of the day, you don't
want to run Maxie into the ground. I think he
played the entire second half. So it's not that Maxi
won't still be good if it's just him, But Joelle
takes the pressure away. Obviously, He's a force inside. You know,
(04:41):
he can kind of offset Karl Anthony town So. And
the trick is like they are used to playing without him,
So you are gonna see some good basketball from Philadelphia
and just going, hey, we're used to not having Joel,
but it's a different game plan. And make no mistake
there not better. Just go ask the Celtics who just
(05:02):
lost a three to one lead, like they're not better
without Embiid and it is all about matchups. So I
do think that they need him back, There's no question there.
And the trick, like what you're talking about is well
they're faster, they play with more face. It's just a
different style. But you do want to essentially relieve Maxie
(05:22):
and then when he goes man he can get absolutely
red hot. And the tough part with embiid is when
Embad's on the floor, you have to put a big
guy on him. You know what that means When he
runs into a pick and roll, guess what Maxie gets
to drive right around the big guy. And that's what
essentially ice the game against the Celtics. So embiid is important.
(05:44):
They're gonna err on the side of caution. If they
can rest them, they're gonna rest them. They're not gonna,
you know, try to live again to fight another day.
And I think that, however that leg is feeling, they're
gearing up for him to go, you know, full blast
these next games all right.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Now for the next if they're without Adamoby, Does this
change the outlook of the series for you? Up two
zip now looking to potentially end this one quick?
Speaker 3 (06:07):
No, I don't think it changes it. And what we've
seen from teams in the playoffs is like everybody's dealing
with injuries. Everybody has guys out. That's just the new
NBA now. The pace is so fast, you know, and
a lot of these high usage guys that had the
ball in their hands, they are hurt, you know. By
the playoffs. It's something that you're just kind of seeing
(06:29):
or you know, teams are gonna kind of learn how
and adjust and say, hey, how can we keep our
guys healthy? But unfortunately, injuries are just part of the game.
And when the game is so fast, uh, and you're fatigued,
you're dehydrated, whatever, make us there's more room for injury
because these guys are flying up and down the floor
and they're running for threes, and again, the speed of
(06:49):
the game is off a chart. So I think what
New York is going through. Essentially every team in the
playoffs to a degree has had somebody extremely important sitting out.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
See I think it's my fault. Yeah, I think it's
my fault. I think is the last couple of nights
and tonight talking with you, you know, breaking down the way
the playoffs have gone. Right in the Western Conference, we're
getting the excellent play of the top teams in the league,
right as good as the thunder are, as good as
the Spurs are, as well as the t Wouls have
been playing.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
In the East.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
It's been basically a story of who has the least problems, right,
whether it's injuries, effectiveness, match like, that's the thing, and
I'm okay with that. Hey, however you get there, right,
it doesn't matter however you get there. I don't care
what I've been saying. The Knicks are the favorite on
paper right now because they have the least problems. And
I've said this the last two nights, and now because
(07:42):
I've said it so much, karma has gotten out there.
And oh, Jason Smith said I have no problem. Yeah, hey,
I oh giato Nobiah. But you go bang legs with
Tyress MAXI now we see if you have no problems.
I think it's my fault. I should have kept it
to myself.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Yeah, and look, I get the ups and downs. And
now this could a game, Anthony.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Why are you saying that? Why even saying that is possibility.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
I'm trying to make this. I'm trying to make you
feel better.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
But don't put it out there than possibly.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
No, he's not.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
I can't say that. Good things to say, dude, but you.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
You just you know you you're you're you're about to
go crazy and not to say that, oh g he's
not important, but this could be a lot worse, like
like Philly's missing their first or second best player or
whatever you'd like to classify Joel and beat under right now.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Okay, I understand that, but you don't need to throw
out there in the air that somebody bigger could get hurt, Like, yeah,
you don't need.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
To do that. Well, this is why you can't have
Mike Brown's number. You're just speaking logically. You are you know,
you're your fandom is shining through. I mean you you
can't even like like hide it, you know.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
All right, Now, here's the thing we started. We've been
talking about this all night tonight. You let it slip,
unfortunately for you, in the first hour of the show
that you've played for Mike Brown, you know him, you
have a cell phone number, and you won't give it
to me.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
No, now is it? Is it? Not? Really?
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Now?
Speaker 1 (09:02):
This is news, Like you can't ignore news, right, this
is a news thing that that's happening right now with
og Ananoby's injury. You are not You are doing a
disservice to news gathering organizations and to me as a journalist,
and you, as a journalist with a capital J that
you don't give me Mike Brown's phone number so I
can find out what's going on and tell people he
OG's okay, OG's.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Going to be out.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
We don't know yet. Like now it's gone from hey,
doing a favor for a friend to now you owe
it to You owe it to to America, you owe
it to journalism, Like journalism might just be going out
the window if you don't give me Mike Brown's phone numbers. Now, yes,
they are America's team.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
You didn't know that.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Yeah, dude, the Lakers are down one zip and they
may as well be down three zip. Come on, I'll
be in there to tell you that in a second.
But I mean, like really, I mean, if can you
imagine NBA Finals without the Knicks? I mean, come on, man,
I mean people need to know. People want to know.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
I mean, when the Knicks are good, it's good for
it is good for basketball. At least put him in
the mix so they can lose and the ratings are there.
It is good for the game.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
And you giving me Mike Brown's phone number helps make
the Knicks good for basketball.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
I think you know, a distraction at this time is
not what you would want.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Why would it be a distract? Maybe it's something he
absolutely needs. You know, I need to talk to a
really smart guy who is intelligent, creative, incredibly good looking, smart, winsome, charming.
Just I need a guy like that to tell me
it's maybe I can help Mike Brown.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
I think that's exactly how that conversation is gonna go.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
That's what it's gonna go. Hey, man, you know me,
really smart, really intelligent, so witty, so charming. Yeah, no,
you know me. Hey, So how's Og? How's OG doing?
Just let me know? Just tell me, and then I
could tell America.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Yeah, that might be violation of some hippolaws.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
But no, no, no, I'm not saying for an absolute
like he's got to say, well, here's a contusion here,
and I just like in general terms, I could talk
about it.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
It might be some violation there. There are some uh
people that have gotten in some major trouble by doing such.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Okay, listen, I've watched thirty episodes of The Pit, so
I'm basically a doctor that is not a violation of hippolaws.
Oh okay, yeah, trust me. I mean you you watch
all you watch both seasons of the Pick you're basically
a doctor, So I mean I need to go to
medical school or anything. Now I know that it's not
violating they they actually have a hippolaw plotline and that's
not violating hippolaws.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
No, I'm telling trust me, I'm telling you the truth.
I'm not gonna lie to you. Are you typing right
now hippolaws? If that's are you typing that into your
computer right now?
Speaker 3 (11:42):
We might like to know, you know, because you are.
You are throwing out some mighty large allegations right now.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
I'm not saying allegations of what I just I'm just
saying I don't think that's a that's a violation of
a hippolaw. I don't think you giving me Mike Brown's
cell phone number is a hippolaw violation.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Yeah, I don't know. If I want to find that
one out.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
No, I think that's easy. What if I okay, what
if I promise not to ask him about OG? What
if I just talk about the game, I just talk
about the healthy players.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
I mean, it would be all positive, there's no negative,
there's no bad. It would be all Piet Mike Brown
has come it look just to let you know, last
year when the Knicks fired TIBs. No, by the way,
no one's saying, Boy, I wish Tims was there when
the Knicks fired TIBs, and I looked at the people
who were out there who were not under contract with
the other team, because boy was at a ridiculous search
when I said, the guys that are out there that
(12:34):
you could go get, Mike Brown is the guy. Mike
Brown is the guy. His defensive acumen, He's eventually going
to get them to do what they need to do defensively,
because that's where they kind of lost their way a
bit under TIBs, who was a great defensive coach. But
you could see the team became different. They couldn't get
Cat to buy in. Mike Brown's the guy. Now. It
took him a little bit longer than people thought, but
the last month of the season, defensively, they really came together. Offensively,
(12:56):
they come together to start the postseason. He's every He's
He's exactly in the spot that everybody hoped they would
be at this point last year. Right, He's exactly in
that spot. It's all positive. It's all positive.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
Yeah, I mean no, I hear you, but you know
positive for now. I mean, you guys are.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Pretty that's why give it to me now.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Nick fans are pretty clear about just just just changing up.
You know, it doesn't I mean, it doesn't take much.
I mean you you're ready to trade Austin Reeves already
in LA. I mean, like goodness.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Look, the bottom line is do you trust me? And
do you have to trust me? I've known you for
a long time. I'm not going to embarrass you.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Absolutely trust you, you know, not not in every way,
like a lot of ways. You know, like I'd leave
my when we work. I mean I'd leave my wallet
right on the desk.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
You do, you do? I mean there's never any money
in it, but you leave it. You still live right
on the desk. Jason's Mad Hollins here on Fox Sports

Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with Ryan Hollands
in from Mike Harmon coming up next more evidence why
Ryan Holland should give me Mike Brown's cell phone number.
But a little while ago inside the NBA, Look, we
didn't have a lot of drama in the nightcap because
the Spurs got out to an early lead and kept
it all the way and thumping the Minnesota Timberwolves one
(16:07):
thirty three to ninety five. But it was after Draymond
Green and Charles Barkley in a conversation where Charles uh
hit Draymond Green with a question that everybody apparently knew
the answer to listen to Draymond's answer.
Speaker 6 (16:22):
No, no dispect fans. It is for every old team.
You have your run, you get old, y'all. Let Clay
go you and Steph on the backside of you all careers. Uh,
it's just passed you by. Y'all had one of the
greatest runs ever. If if you think you're not you didn't.
You're not in the playoffs, You're not gonna make it.
(16:44):
You think you're gonna get healthier for next year, You're
just gonna get older. That's no disrespect. You guys had
one of the greatest runs of all time. If you
want to compete, you're gonna have to leave there. If
Steph wants to compete, he's gonna have to leave there.
You're gonna have to make that decision if the bring
the right pieces and they can't bring the right pieces
because they don't have no cap space. Okay, they don't
(17:05):
have any cap space.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
You believe this?
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Do you believe that?
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Did you believe what he's talking over here?
Speaker 7 (17:11):
Well, that's what I was saying. We had to hug
for a reason, right, Like we're not because it's not oblivious. Yeah, So, like.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
So there's Charles Barkley all the reasons why that we've
known why why the Warriors it's over look And I've
said for a while, if Steph really wants to win,
he had to go someplace else. But he chose to
be a one team, uh for his career. So that's
what it's going to be for the for the rest
of it for him. But like here's Draymond Green saying,
why do you think we hugged like it's over? We
we know it, we know it's over and gold we
(17:44):
all hugged for a reason at the end of that game, right,
Like I find it hard to believe that Steve Kerr
is gonna come back. And look where I am with
the Warriors right now is this big dog. So for
the big three that's still there, Steve Kerr is going
to leave and go do something else, whether he needs
some time to reach it's still a young guy, still
gonna come back to coaching if he wants to, has
nothing to prove, and can go do TV for the
(18:05):
rest of his career if he wants to. But he
hasn't made his decision yet. And we're getting close to, hey,
the end of the season, and the Warriors aren't gonna
press him. If the Warriors can somehow pull a rabbit
out of their hat, and this is hey, guess what
we know that Giannis could be coming, you know, because
why is Steve Kerr not retired already? Why is he
not resigned already?
Speaker 3 (18:25):
Right?
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Okay, if you can maybe do something this offseason, get
another star in here, keep it going. I'd like to stay,
stay till the end of steph who knows, But right
now a barring that he's gonna go, Draymond's gonna do
one more year with the Warriors because he's really untradable
I don't know who's gonna take on it, but is
one year for twenty five million and maybe a team
saying hey, we're his attitude away from there? But is
(18:47):
Draymond gonna want to leave or he's gonna do one
more year and then walk away because he's not getting
paid again. And then you have Steph who's gonna stay
there at the Warriors till the bitter end. Right, He's
gonna be one one team star his entire career. Like
we know, it's over in Golden State and short of
a miracle, which is not gonna happen. Yeah, I mean,
I don't think it's a well kept secret with Draymond Sanya.
(19:07):
Why do you think we hugged at the end. Yeah,
it's the Warriors. The Warriors run is over.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
Yeah. It is gonna be tough. The injuries, the Moody
obviously comminga traded never really focused on the youth, and
then Jimmy Butler being out and you know he's older,
so I can't expect him to rush back. So it
is tough. And even to make a trade. One of
those guys that was injured was likely probably gonna be
(19:35):
one of the major assets in the trade. So, yeah,
the Warriors are in a very tough space, and I
think it was tough for Draymond because I've been there before,
you know, I was I started doing radio while I
was playing with the Clippers, and I kind of fill
in and pop in and you know, do things here
and there and when someone For those who didn't hear,
(19:58):
what's also churning with that is Draymond really took like
a shot at Charles, you know, right back at him,
and it was like, yeah, kind of like when you
play for the Rockets, you know, careers over cool nowhere,
Like he threw that out. Okay, we're catching the Straights
in Houston. Which is crazy. When you're still playing and
someone talks about the team you're on and something that
(20:20):
you're still emotionally invested in, it hits different. You don't
want to hear that. So, I mean, I know it's
a part of the job. Obviously Draymond knows how to
handle himself, but he's in a weird space where, you know,
Draymond is is doing media in a sense while playing.
It's a really unique place. But when you hear about
(20:43):
something you are emotionally invested into, that doesn't feel good
when I.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Look at the future for the Warriors, right because for
years I said, you know, God, Steph, he's got to
go someplace else if he wants to win. Steve Kerr goes,
Draymond plays this year and retires right end of his year,
end of his four year contract. At that point, I
gotta think Steph is still after this year, he's still
(21:12):
a pretty terrific player, not gonna be the guy he was. Well, look,
still as old as he is right now, he's still,
you know, scoring twenty five twenty seven a game, still
is terrific. I gotta think maybe at that point he says, hmm,
I really like to win again. I really don't like,
you know, coming down to the end of the year,
and my only shining moment is the playing round because
(21:33):
that's what he had that We celebrated him so much
because of the play round, because knew they weren't going anywhere.
They weren't gonna get out of the playing round. So
it's like, oh, let's celebrate Steph with a big shot here,
you know, in a seven to ten game, in the
eight to nine game. I gotta think he wants to
try to win again at some point so maybe after
this year he says, Okay, I'll go someplace else for
a couple of years to a team that maybe I
(21:54):
can I can go that I know needs a shoot her,
that what I can do, and we can go win
there and maybe I can win at the end. I
gotta think he's gonna be open to that if it's
if what's what we've talked about is happening, and that's
Steve Kerr retires or walks away, Draymond leaves after this year,
and then it's just him by himself. How much is
he gonna buy into whatever new is going on in
Golden State, new way of doing things. We have to
(22:15):
play for the future. We can't be beholden to you.
You're a thirty seven, thirty eight, thirty nine year old superstar.
So I gotta think at some point he's gonna be
okay with going to play someplace else.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Yeah, yeah, I mean the logic is there. You know,
he had to. And I will say this not about
him playing for somebody else now, but I believe or
I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't end his career
as a Warrior. You know what, other team, And this
is probably far from now. Would be cool to see
him end on and may likely happen is over over
(22:48):
with the Hornets, over in Charlotte. Yeah, I remember when
I first played there. It's funny Dale would bring Steph
down and Steph would just like sit on the train
and take wouldn't say a word to anybody. We kind
of step in and say what's up to him, say
hello whatever, but like he just he was quiet, wouldn't
(23:09):
say anything to anybody. Like like you wouldn't think the
little guy, little kid sitting on the training table, young guy,
young man is gonna be Steph Curry one day. And
uh again, I think there's some definitely some sentimental value
there in in Charlotte. You know, his dad still works
for the team doing uh, you know, doing color and
(23:29):
Dale does a heck of a job. And again, like again,
this would be not the move now, not to ring Chase,
but in a sense of, you know, hey, one year,
one sentimental year in Charlotte and the Hornets and all
that history there could be a part of a cool story.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
You know, going home is always a great place to end,
because then it looks like if you're chasing someplace and
you don't win, it looks desperate. This is why, Like,
if Lebron's gonna finish anywhere but La, it'll be in Cleveland.
Like that, he's not gonna go try to Oh, I
think I can go play with the Knicks for a year,
or I think Detroit would need me for a year,
or I think that, you know, Denver, I can go
(24:07):
play with Jokis. Like, he's not gonna do that because
if they he doesn't win, all of a sudden, it's
Lebron went chase the ring didn't win there. But going home,
you have the storyline of well, I went home for
a year, and that would be Steph Curry going home
to Charlotte for a year, and that would that could
work for That's what I'm gonna do the last year
or two of my career. We'll see how it goes.
Maybe I get some more playing games. It's the Eastern Conference.
(24:29):
We'll see. But I gotta think though, for him, the
way with his optics and his legacy and and the
and the impression of him, if he went somewhere to
go win, right, let's just say he picks a team.
He picks the Pistons, or he picks the Knicks or
he picks the Nuggets, whatever it is. Let's say he
(24:49):
picks a contending team and he doesn't and they don't win.
I don't think he bears the brun of that, whereas
Lebron would bear the brun of it wherever he goes.
But Steph would be well, he tried, right, he tried
to go someplace he didn't win. But look at all
the winning he did throughout his career. You know, even
Barkley talking about one of the great runs in NBA history. Yeah, okay,
I don't think he can do damage to his reputation
going someplace big. But like so, I think he could
(25:12):
do that. He could go home, like he's got options.
I think he's just got to look at the world.
He's got to really take a serious look at the
world outside of Golden State and go do I just
want to play here and score twenty five twenty seven
empty points again in the next two three years, or
do I want to go someplace else, especially when everybody
else is gone and suddenly I'm the the you know,
the gift of will Smith in the in the living
(25:32):
room where and everybody's gone, and the furniture is all gone,
and it's just me standing here. Maybe I go someplace else.
Maybe that's what I do.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
Yeah, No, I mean there's there's real legitimacy to there.
If I'm a star on another team, for instance, like
you know, you can you know Giannis maybe looking over
to him and saying come to Milwaukee. You know, he
was able to do it with Dame and say come
to Milwaukee. You know, let's let's see if we can
do something together. So it's intriguing. Or you got or
(26:03):
he could And it might not be a team that
you're necessarily thinking about, but it could be like a
Utah Jazz and where they have cap space, they have
draft picks, you know, it could be like a San
Antonio Okay, cap space, draft picks, talent that you can
that you can move in a ray of assets. So
(26:25):
it may not just be the teams that may jump
out to mine. So it is intriguing. But I think logically,
like you said, if it's winning, Yeah, if there's a
centimental aspect, and there is a sentimental ascot, this is
the organization that he's taking care of. Steph Curry, Okay,
So I don't think it's just a fourgone like I
(26:49):
could see him just staying there and just weather in
a storm, you know, like Kobe Bryant stayed in LA
and I mean, what was it five six, seven years
of the of the rebuild, whatever it was. Yeah, and
that could be Steph's story there. Hey, I'm here. It's
what it is. I'm here. It's bigger than basketball. We
won championships, lawyers for life not changing, you know, and
(27:13):
that is very likely going to be the outcome because
you know, we want to see him ring Chase, but
does he want that exit?
Speaker 1 (27:22):
How about a fresco x at the Ryan Hollins Jason Smith,
Ryan Hollinds in for Mike Harmon tonight. We got more
coming up in ninety seconds. But first live bet brim
Euro How's what's trending in the wide world of sports, Bree,
What do you got for us?
Speaker 4 (27:35):
Alrighty guys. Yes, the Spurs. They beat up the Timberwolves
one thirty three to ninety five. They tied up this
series one game, peace victor one. Benyama had nineteen points
of fifteen rebounds and two blocks. They handed the Chimberwolves
their worst playoff loss ever, and it was the most
points that San Antonio had scored since nineteen eighty three,
The Knicks took a two to oh series lead over
(27:57):
the seventy six ers with the one, one O two victory.
Karl Anthony Towns had twenty points and ten rebounds. Jalen
Brentson twenty six points and six assists. There were twenty
five league changes in the game, which was the most
in a playoff game in about eleven years. In the
NHL Playoffs, the Sabers took Game one with a four
to two win over the Canadians, and the Ducks defeated
(28:19):
the Golden Knights in Vegas three one to tie up
the series one game apiece there and in baseball, the
Cubs walked it off against the Reds seven six and
ten innings for their eighth straight win and fourteenth straight
victory at home. The Mets handed the Rockies their sixth
straight loss with the ten to five win.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Play are no longer the worst team in baseball?
Speaker 4 (28:39):
You scared me?
Speaker 1 (28:41):
I scared you.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
You scared me. I'm like, I'm in a zone. I'm like,
where am I gonna go next? I got there? I
gotta go here, I gotta go there. You know, the
Giants are the worst team in baseball? So you didn't
even beat the worst team in baseball. The Rockies are
the second worst team.
Speaker 1 (28:58):
Yeah, that's sure, that's progress. Yeah, no, it's no.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
It's like the mess the Rockies and the Giants.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Hey, we win tomorrow, we leap frog the Angels and
Houston again, and maybe we're like the fifth worst team
in baseball. It's still if we move up two places
every day, I feel pretty good.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
Well, you're gonna I can't believe the White Sox are
three games ahead of you. Harmon should be like a
lot like kind of walking with like a bigger pepinist.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
But that did. The whole division stinks. That division stinks
out loud. Okay, the White Socks three better. There are
three games under five hundred. They were a game and
a half out of first place. That whole division stinks.
Whatever makes you feel better, it stinks. It's terrible, all right.
Speaker 4 (29:41):
Since Okay, I have no idea where I was, but
I think Aaron Judge hit his fifteenth home run of
the season, leading the league in home runs, but the
Yankees still fell to the Rangers six to one. Andy
Pa has hit a career high three home runs as
the Dodgers beat up the Astros twelve to two. Houston
had received news earlier today that Carlos Korea is done
for the season. He needs season ending surgery.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
That's what happens is the cheaters, cheaters.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
Yea Estros. Karma is real.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Finished last now, now karma is real. It just took
eight years to get to that.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Pay It comes around and whatever timing it is, speaking
in time. My time is up.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
So back to you guys, have a good night, Thank
you both, Thanks a bunch, bree. All right, we'll get
to that to a big story coming up in a
few minutes. But uh, involving the big injury in the
NBA tonight. But I want to throw this by a
big dog. So Jimmy Hasselm, Bucks co owner, Yes, the
same Jimmy hassel loans the Browns, said today that he
(30:40):
would like to have Giannie's future sorted out before the
NBA draft. Big news conference today introducing Taylor Jenkins as
the Bucks coach. Jannis has been in Milwaukee for his
entire thirteen year career. Hasselm said, Look, I think before
the draft, to know if we're going to keep her
move on from him is the natural time. We got
to find a way to build the team. This is
(31:00):
what we need. So I ask you, if I say
to you, when we get to the draft, we get
to this point, is janis a buck? Or is Jannis
on a different team.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
I think he's a buck. I mean we've been doing
this dance for I don't know how long. I mean, look,
you got all his brothers on the team. He's able
to make calls in free agency, bring guys on. I
just can't see Yanni's playing anywhere else. I think he
definitely wants to win. I think he is intrigued with
New York. Just nothing from New York would make sense
(31:34):
from Milwaukee's standpoint to say, Karl Anthony Towns is not
a fair exchange. They don't have the young assets, they
don't have anything tangible that would make them comfortable. Maybe
Jalen Brunson and Karl Anthony Towns, but then what would
be in New York. There's nothing that would make sense
(31:55):
for Jannis in his standpoint of New York. And maybe
the Lake is maybe a team in play, but again
Milwaukee's gonna say, well, we don't want the cover to
be there. We made so many sacrifices for you, you go,
we gotta get something back. So in all reality, like
Yannis is such a loyal player that I can't see
(32:16):
him being anywhere else, even though.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
He's talked about he's talked about other destinations.
Speaker 3 (32:23):
I mean, he's done this dance this, This is the
same dance. I mean he's getting a little more comfortable
in it. But it's it's we've been seeing the same
dance for what it would have been five NBA summers.
Now you're the same dance. But I am I wrong?
Speaker 1 (32:38):
But at some point doesn't he get to Okay, I'm
thirty one. I've been doing it to try to get
players in. Whatever they've done around me hasn't worked since
we won the championship. Now it's time for me to
finally make good on my threat or my desire, and
I gotta go someplace else.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
Man Milwaukee has done an amazing job of coming to
the table with Yiannis and saying, what can we do
to make you feel comfortable? Can we make this work?
What do you need? How many brothers?
Speaker 4 (33:03):
For?
Speaker 3 (33:03):
All right? We'll get them all shot. We'll get them
a shot, and they have they have. This is a
hard like sell, you know, like what do you want? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (33:14):
But they also gave him Doc Rivers.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
No, no, no, do I think he liked Doc. You know,
he enjoyed his time, you know do Doc is very likable,
extremely likable.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah. I think they would have liked
to win more games more, but I I get that. Yeah,
Doc is likable, dude likeable do well, see, he'll be
He'll be great on TV now for the rest of
his career. Doc will be great. Uh. Coming up next, Oh,
big dog, we got one more big surprise for you,
the big injury tonight. There is absolute proof that you
(33:48):
should give me Mike Brown's phone number after what we're
gonna after the sound year coming up next, absolute proof
you owe it. In your position as a journalist. You're
gonna hear the audio and there's gonna be no choice.
It's coming up next, right here. Jason Smith Ryan Hollins
in for Harmon.
Speaker 2 (34:06):

Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
