Speaker 2 (00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Greetings, Welcome inside final hour tonight The Jason Smith Show
with my base friend Mike Harmon.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Extra Cockfight.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
How did the Big andres Cantor Go Hot Dog Challenge
go tonight? Oh you'll hear it in all its glory
coming up in about fifteen minutes.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Giggle giga.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
But first, let's start by talking about how Mike Harmon
got today's prediction wrong. You thought Lebron James is gonna
show up at Fanatics Fest today and say where he
was going in free agency. Then you thought he's gonna
somehow show up at the opening of the Odyssey dressed
up like Matt Damon. Sure three hundred, maybe he's got
some armor. Oh, oh, neither of those things happened. No,
(01:11):
you don't know where Lebron James is going to place
and he's not ready to tell anybody what his decision is.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Yeah, it just seemed like an opportunity for the convergence
of a lot of things, and for me just being
the pursuer of knowledge and the quest, which he did
at one point a bit with his guys when he
was in Cleveland to find truth. That the Odyssey was
a nice tie in. And we love our TV movies
(01:39):
and all those themes when we can tie him back
into our sports analogies and certainly into the fact of
such a monumental move. I mean, it just seemed like
an obvious thing that he would try to draw attention
slash cash from.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Now.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Here's the other thing is just speaking of the Odyssey
real before you get into Lebron James, is that I
told you the beginning.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
I had no desire to see this movie.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Christopher Nolan whatever, Okay, yes, it's gonna be two and
a half hours. I'm not gonna under anything, right, but
seeing the previews, Oh now I want to see it
previous maybe me want to see it. I want one
of those giants posters are getting you leave the IMAX.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
But hang on a second.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
It's like it's being built now as as a.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Horror historical drama.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
I'm like, ooh, horror historical drum Like now, suddenly I'm
even more interested in going to see it because it's
being built is a half horror movie. I saw some
stills that there might be other genres that it enters.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
How about that? All right? All right? I like that. Yeah,
it's the first one shot in complete four k HD
for like Imax. Why wasn't that enough for you?
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Because I've seen I've seen the big visual dazzlement before.
Now I've seen that. Okay, No, it's great. It's a
big war epic.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I get it. They said, if you don't watch Imax,
you miss part of the movie because they have to
cut it out. That's insane. What happened to that Damon's character?
Don't see him anymore?
Speaker 1 (02:58):
He's off the screen.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
One's in a regular screen. I don't know where.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
It just means no, one's an elitist, doesn't want all
of us to expect, you know, experience everything, even though
there's a guy that's seen at the movies three or
four times a week.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yeah, look at buying bopcorn and concession and just so
you know, just because Christopher Nolan does a movie doesn't
mean it's gotta be great.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yes it is.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
No, Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, better Batman and Joker combination.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Tennant, I'm done talking. Tenant was terrible, amazing. Oh, tell
me what it was about. The movie starts at the
ending and ends with the beginning. But what was it about?
I saw the movie, Tell me what was it about.
I can't spoiler for everybody.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Oh, you can't explain it because it was from twenty twenty.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
You have at it. Nobody knows what it was about. Nobody,
Yes they do. No, they don't. Saving the world. Oh
that's so great.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Yeah, he's gonna run for politics pretty soon.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Man, nobody understands. And also, yeah, dude, Oppenheimer sah, I
liked Oppenheimer, but it was five hours long. Oppenheimer had me, uh,
come on, ripping the whole time.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Dude, tell them, Mike, dude, when the Okay, this is
this is this?
Speaker 4 (04:05):
And then I went back and started rewatching the peaky blinders.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
This is this is Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer was done really well.
I think if they had focused on the building of
the town, the building, the bomb like that would have been,
but they go through and make it this entire run,
and they put in so much stuff. When the bomb
gets detonated, Okay, the bomb gets detonated, Okay, big scene
in the movie. Obviously you're watching that. The audio was awesome,
(04:29):
the effects were terrific. Right, the bomb gets detonated. My
wife turns me and says, there's still over an hour
left movie? And I turned it. I said no, blank
and way like, way louder than I should have. And
people in the theater looked at me like, what's going on,
Like there's I said, no, there's no way, there's an
hour plus left in this movie.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
There's an over an hour? Are you kidding me with this?
Come on, man, I only had one complaint from it.
What's that?
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Why did you not get stings Russians in there? I
hope the Russians love their children too. Uh, it was
just too it's too long, like I'm gonna put everything
that I shot, and I thought they used every inch
of film. That's why you have editors like I get
that he's got carp blaunched now and he has that
impact in Hollywood and that and that reputation, but dude,
(05:14):
come on, man, I mean, every movie doesn't have to
be three out.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
But the longer he he goes in the movie, there's
gonna be more of an opportunity for you if you've
had a large coke to go to the bathroom. Yeah,
and take your own bathroom break. It wasn't there an
app at one point that he's the best place to
take a bathroom break in a movie.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Yeah, wasn't that a thing for a while at Christopher, no,
anywhere anywhere. The first forty five minutes of Oppenheimer could
have gone to the bathroom. Here he's got a weird
relationship with uh uh with Yolena. Oh okay, where does
that lay into the movie? Oh it doesn't. It's what
they're showing you this. Oh okay, So Florence p was
in the movie and then what yeah it doesn't matter.
(05:54):
Oh okay, are you not happy Florence could have I mean,
I love that they got her out of that culton
in Sweden with dancing with the flowers around her, and
they got her into the movie.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
She might be the only person ever do a press
junket and someone gives her a giant thing of cheese
because she loves to cook and she loves cheese, and
she rips it open and takes a gnaws and giant
chunk out of it, going wow, Nuddy, that's great cheese.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
It's like hanging out with you.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Let's have a dancing contest and that's all you're standing
up dancing at the end.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
You're the winner.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Hey, all right, what else happened? Oh we dropped your boyfriend.
He's gonna be dead. So there's a guy in a
bear out of it and Cheaty, oh sheep bring it up,
and I get so sad for Cheaty.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
So sad. Well, I mean he did go to the
good place.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
I mean his leg is sticking out of the ground
for no reason whatsoever?
Speaker 3 (06:42):
I mean, why why is his leg sticking out of
the grass? How many questions, dude? But again, Midsummer wasn't
eight hours long?
Speaker 4 (06:50):
You know, you get the one hundred and seventy one
minute director's cut now available.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
And again, Tysher right now is googling a recap of
Tenant and he still can't explain it, the making of
the making of You need the Wikipedia of the Wikipedia
of Tennant to explain what it is.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
You can't. You know, I'm gonna be honest with you.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
I don't think I saw that one, so I think
I the matter. I don't even think that I think
he did this. I don't you need to edit this.
Let's just whatever we shot, put it together and put
it out there. You're such a hater, let's let and
let's instead of having AI ride it, everybody just shout
random words. And that's gonna be what John David Washington
says throughout the entire movie. Oh okay, great, yeah, I mean,
come on, man, why.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Are you such a hater? Come on, it's it's could No,
it was terrible. I just don't want to know. Was terrible.
Just and then you poop us because I couldn't understand
life and what build say the world to Wait, Okay,
this is Tenant, not Oppenheimer. I'm talking about both.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Okay, Okay. Oppenheimer was just way too bleep and long.
It wasn't yes, it was it was so wait. Wait,
I have a have a question to ask you out
of all of that. Okay, and it's one you've heard
from me before.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Okay, I want to.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
Buy a John David Washington rookie car, because there he
is with the ram Okay.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
From two thousand and six, oh, very good, all right,
very nice, all right, I got his rookie card. It's
all good.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
No, Christopher Nolan is a very talented director. He's done
some terrific movies. But not everything is great just because
he does it. Not everything is a grand slam on run.
Some are big strikeouts, like what tenant, I just told you.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
Again?
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Give me one plot line from the movie that's not
just a just a general uh hey, they're trying to
save the world. I mean one plot line from it.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Yeah. Time is just an illusion. Okay.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
No, I don't mean I'm a no, don't get me,
don't give me something that was said by Matthew McConaughey.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
It's a season of true detective. Time is a flat
circle back molasses.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Dora Lang is the what no, no, give me a
very specific thing from the.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Movie okay, and what it means. They need to save
the world, okay, and they're being oppressed by wealthy tenants
and once it's I can't tell you all right, Ready,
here we go.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
Rotten Tomatoes scores for nolan work The Odyssey currently highest
at ninety six percent, followed by Memento, followed by Batman
Begins Good, I'm tied with.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
The Dark Knight.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Yeah, all those are good.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Then the prestige again eight hours.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Long, stop procedures long, Jason.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
The audience loved Justice League at ninety two percent, Oppenheimer
ninety one, Inception ninety one, Dark That Rise at ninety
Interstellar at eighty seven. Stellar was good, following going all
the way back to nineteen ninety eight at eighty five percent,
Dunkirk at eighty one percent, Insomnia seventy seven percent, that's
(09:47):
wrong with people?
Speaker 3 (09:48):
That was great, That.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Sounds incredible, tenant and seventy six percent. Producer of Man
of Steel seventy five percent. See, once you get into
the DC universe, you lose me to Justice League sixty
you lose me Transcendence, you lose man.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
That was Johnny Depp, not everything. He's He's a two
out of every three movie guy. That's kind and I
hate when people do that. So a very interesting thing
happened today at fanatics Fest where Lebron James said, I'm
not ready to name my new team yet. I told
(10:24):
you about it behind the Curtain Haliburton. Yeah, I mean, hey,
wait a minute, I'm going to write a song with
that in it. So he goes on stage says he's
not ready. He's heard a bunch of teams, very Cagy
Lebron enjoying all this process of oh I'm still out
there and teams want me. And we got this today
from none other than Heat President Pat Riley, who, speaking
(10:48):
for one of the first times, after obtaining Giannis onto
a component a big trade, right, Giannis with the Heat
now preferred destination. Riley was able to do that and
uh Riley making an allusion to Lebron James maybe being
next because he's brought Giannis into the fold.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Lebron James me, he likes Tenant and I like Inzomnia.
Shout outs Pat, Why why do you have Roley talking
like Hank Hill?
Speaker 4 (11:15):
That's how he said out Well, because the new season
of Hank Hill premieres just in a couple of days.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
We landed the plane. That is another one we have
to land.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
But ookay, he was really proud of himself with that
line too, and then he said, I'm sell propain it
pro paining accessories.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
You see, we landed the plane, we got Giannis. Now
another plane to land, which is Lebron right now, I
get it for a few teams to want Lebron. I
get it for the Cavaliers makes sense for both sides.
I get it for the Warriors, they would be able
to run out the best forty year old basketball team
that you could possibly see. Anyway, these guys that kill
(11:53):
everybody at the why they'll only win thirty five games
in the West, but men at the wy on Saturdays,
they'll be deadly. I get it for a couple of teams.
Certain times, though, I think you have to take a
stand because I'm just embarrassed for pat Riley, because I'm
old enough to remember when Lebron left the Heat. When
Lebron showed up, marginalized pat Riley's impact on the team left.
(12:17):
Pat Riley was mad when he opted out to leave,
said hey, we got unfinished business. You stay if you
got the guts. Pat Riley was mad. It was harsh,
the breakup was not great. And now, because it's fifteen
years later, hey, or you know, fourteen years later, pat
Riley said, yeah, we get Lebron. You know, he talked
about dayson. We talked to Lebron's people were in a
waiting game, just like anybody else.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
He says.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
We landed one plane, one to land another there's lots
of other good players to go out there for.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
I'm embarrassed.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
I want pat Riley to have a spine, because this
is where he's the X that gets broken up with
very publicly, goes on and lives his life for the
next few years. And then the X goes on, gets married,
has some kids, change his job, moves out of the country,
then comes back fifteen years later, Hey maybe we get
back together, and the ex is like, yeah, time has
stood still for me for fifteen years, so yeah, hey,
(13:09):
let's get back together. I'm embarrassed for that person. I'm
embarrassed for pat Riley. I know that it's Lebron James.
He will make you better. Lebron is still a terrific player.
He more gets his than makes you better. But if
he's someone that can do that now, and he's okay
playing that kind of role, I'll play point guard for
a little bit. I could play some small forward. I'll
play some power forward. You would put me down low
(13:30):
with the five if you want to, like, I get
where he has that value. But for pat rollyman, have
a spine, like I remember how bad, how mad you were,
how mad he what he did walking away from me
after all of that. But yet oh yeah, hey all
it's forgiven, gonna land a plane again. There's a reason
why when you get divorced from somebody, you don't get
back together years later. There's a reason why. I mean,
(13:51):
once in a while, it happens.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
Next to ten percent according to a number of surveys
I was looking at it.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
I still think that's way high. I don't think it.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
Maybe six percent of the people divorce get remarried again,
maybe after like a couple marriages, like maybe a couple more. Hey,
I got married two other times after going back to
the beginning. Now, uh you know, like kind of like
lebron starting in Cleveland. I leave it, go back to Cleveland.
I leave it, go back to Cleveland. But like, you
don't get married again. You get divorced, you move on,
you marry somebody else, the other person marries somebody else.
Maybe you stay your talk with each other because you
(14:19):
have kids, maybe you don't talk anymore at all. Whatever,
but people just don't get back together. And this is
what pat Riley's doing. I feel I'm embarrassed for the guy, Like, yeah,
whatever you want, after all of this, you stay, you
got the guts, we've moved on blah blah blah, X,
Y and Z and now it's oh hey, if Lebron, way,
do you want to come back?
Speaker 3 (14:35):
We'll end this plane. We'll bring you back again, Lebron.
It'll be great.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Yeah. Cliche is time heals all wounds. Music is big
and rich.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
You never stop loving somebody, you just start loving somebody else.
And for pat Riley, I mean some of it is
the look where he's at and his life cycle in
the NBA and his basketball mortality and his mortality, and
it's the can I get this back one more time?
Can it give us a winner? And maybe you reconcile
(15:04):
some of that because it's been a while. I mean,
it's a great quote, but like anything, like we've all
said things to each other, to your coworkers, to your
family members, to your friends, to your kids, like I'd
like to have that one back.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
Sometimes you can.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
Sometimes it bridges over a beer, and a lot of
times it's the next time the red light.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Goes on if you're in our business.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
But you know, in this case, it's been a lot
of years and pat Riley would be thirsty to win.
And if he thought that this could get him a
run in the East where he can go vanquish those
hated Nicks.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
He'd make a deal with the Devil.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
Dude, I'm actually he kind of looks like al Pacino
in The Devil's Advocates.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
I tike it all the way back to.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Who am I Got so many names?
Speaker 3 (15:50):
That's a great direct line from Devil's audit. That's a
good movie.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Uh. I mean again, I get it, and I go, oh,
you don't want him to go sign a player.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
No.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Sometimes stuff happens and it's like, I'm sorry, you can't
come back. I can't have you back again. I look awful,
I look weak. I look like Lebron's been running the
team from from five thousand miles away for the past
fourteen years. Eventually, we'll come back. I just thought of it.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
It's like, it's like the person that says, hey, we're
broken up. Now.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
You know, our careers are taking us in different directions,
but I think we'll get back together.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
Dude.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
The person left and got married, has kids, changed jobs,
lives in Canada, moved back now, lives in California.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
They're not coming back. Now.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
Here's the question I have to ask for you. Do
you think when when pat Riley left that message with
Rich Paul to say the Heat were interested. Did he
sing it? Did he tap dance it?
Speaker 5 (16:41):
Like?
Speaker 4 (16:41):
What do you think that voicemail message? And how early
in the process did he send that voice?
Speaker 1 (16:46):
You don't I think pat was able to call Lebron diround. No,
you think you had to leave a voicemail?
Speaker 5 (16:50):
Wow?
Speaker 4 (16:50):
Well, if it ended is acrimoniously, I mean he can
find a guy. But I think Rich Paul and Lebron
were very clear they want to be courted and they
want you to embarra yourself on a tape so they
could use it in their documentary.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Oh wait, that's me editorializing the back. I'm just embarrassed
for pat Riley exit out by a Fresca exit swollen dome.

Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my bes
friend Mike Harmon.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Tell me the song from Tenant doesn't slop?
Speaker 1 (18:35):
I asked you explain to me the ending of Tenant.
I did.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
And what did you say to me?
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Man, what'd you say? So good?
Speaker 1 (18:42):
You said, they saved the world? Yeah, And I said,
but did they really? And you said, I don't know,
I don't know. Is he gonna go back to the
beginning to watch. It's an infinite loop. How did the
big hot dog eating challenge involve it? Andre's Cantor's goal
call for Argentina go so a weird thing last night.
(19:06):
And again, if you missed it, you're gonna hear it
and we will put it up on social media. It's
gonna be on our YouTube page, will be best of
page as well.
Speaker 5 (19:14):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
Andre's Cantor had the goal of the I had the
goal call of the World Cup, which he does all
the time. Argentina's second goal, the big uh, the big
setup by Messi that put them into the World Cup
final on Sunday. And look, he's been dazzling us for
the better part of the last thirty years. But his
(19:35):
goal call yesterday was insanely good. It was like a
minute long, almost a minute long from beginning to end,
and he said goal and he called goal for a
good forty seconds.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
So we got into this crazy conversation on the show
last night, like, and I wonder, because I could eat
a hot dog pretty fast?
Speaker 3 (19:53):
Could I eat a hot dog? Just a hot dog?
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Bun mustard? In the time it took from him to
start saying goal before he got to his last l
could I eat an entire hot dog?
Speaker 3 (20:09):
So he said, let's do this tonight.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
The enterprising young Mike Carmen went to Costco bought a
bunch of hot dogs. I did, brought him in. Now,
the hot dogs were a little bit bigger than I
expected them to be. The bun was a little bit
more than I expected. Eight inch dog? So how did
I do?
Speaker 3 (20:26):
Did?
Speaker 1 (20:27):
I finished the hot dog before Andre's cantor finished his goal?
Call did I not? You're gonna hear how I did
right now. But let me just tell you from the beginning,
I was more than a little nervous. So again I
got forty seconds from the beginning of the call to
eat it. I'll tell you, man, I felt I didn't
(20:48):
feel good. Then I felt good. Now I don't feel
as good.
Speaker 4 (20:51):
Everybody with rapt attention, I mean, you can see the
excited nature of the The crew is fully assembled. I mean,
Julian has popcorn. Yeah, get your pump one ready. So
we'll start this now. To to win, I either have
to say.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Done or slam the table. When I don't, I'll try
to say done and you collapse. I'll just start talking
over you. I'll try to say done, Wow, why that
hurts my sa for days?
Speaker 3 (21:18):
That hurt?
Speaker 5 (21:20):
Now?
Speaker 1 (21:20):
Now I got that. Now I got that. That that
adrenaline running.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
For Fizdale Hammer.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
I'll try to say done. Okay, so that would be
the official. But if sometimes if I'm done, I slap,
that's the same thing, all right, slap all right now
Now I don't really need breathing exercises.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
I just need to get ready to go.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
And uh, when I say to play that, when I
say play it, you play it. I'll start eating when
he starts with his goal. Give me fair play the
beginning of it for me, so I know when I'm
expecting him to say goal, just so I know, and't
expecting me. Okay, all right, very good, I got it now, Okay,
(21:58):
I got it. Okay, all right, so there we go,
so I hang on. All right, this is perfect all right.
The temperature again, the temperature is good enough. This is
heated up in the microwave. Okay, Uh, this is a
much more chewier. But but okay, you know what, Look
I'm gonna see and see how.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
Far we get.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
All right, now, you're excuse making. Let me cut a
couple of deep breaths. Hang on, boy, it's a little
bigger than I thought it would be. A couple of
deep breaths. Ready, just remember you're hungry. You've eaten hot
dogs this fast before. I'm gonna eat that ass up. Okay,
I got it, Tysher, you can't. I'm hyping you up.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
I gotta. I gotta get in the right frame of mind.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Man, I got you or Team USA and I show
up flat against Belgium.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
Come on, man, I can't have that. I can't have
that now.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
I'm not gonna do the whole dip the bun in
the water like Joey Chestnut does. It's not really eating
a hot dog. That's just finding a way to put
a hot dog bun in your body. Okay, all right,
here we go. All right, hang on, give me three
deep breaths.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
Two?
Speaker 1 (22:50):
All right, ty Shirt, play it messy?
Speaker 3 (22:52):
Can gna.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Thinking about it too much?
Speaker 3 (23:20):
Thinking about the Nickson Go.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
Go go. I'm just starting to curtain.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
See light.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
He was able to shovel it into his gullet.
Speaker 2 (23:45):

Speaker 3 (24:23):
But couldn't finish those last two plus bites your selfish
baths to where he kind of looked like a chipmunk
at the end. Yeah, it was. This was not a.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
Gourmet sausage that you found at you know, some farm
you were staying at and they had the you know,
the picture of the the animal that it was processed from.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
No, this was just a standard hot dog. It was
a It was a bigger hot dog than I thought.
The bun was a little bigger than I thought it
would be. The bun was a little bit bit chewier
like I think if I think instead of a Costco
hot dog. If I had one of those like ballpark
hot dogs that are like nine dollars but they're really
tiny like that, I might have been able to g.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
And the ones that you know, the bread isn't really
bread like this actually has a little bit of haf to. Yeah,
like that, you know, if this might actually be uh,
you know a little more of a pure bread like product.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
I think it was good on them. It was same
seeds on the bread. I would have been okay with that, Yeah,
but I did. I think I felt like I had
to chew a lot because the bun was really difficult. Well,
I mean you also heated it a little bit.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Yeah, it took me a while.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Yeah, I had to finish because I got I got
the entire before right before the last goal call, I
got the entire rest of it in my mouth. But
it was still there. I'm not gonna lie to you.
I was still there at the end. You saw when
when Andrei's cantor finished his goal call.
Speaker 4 (25:44):
Yeah, as you heard me say and in the play
by play, and I didn't want to speak over the goal.
That first bite you got into your head. You were
savoring it like it's a hot dog. Man, it's a
hot dog. No disrespect to the fine purveyors of Kirkland
slash Costco. But I mean you've had a hot dog before.
(26:07):
Like I said, he wasn't some gourmet saucer, like wow,
that's really good stuff. Like you go to a farmer's market,
it's like, wait, you guys curated that yourself. You made
that yourself, can't wait to try it, and maybe there's
a flavor profile that just catches you off guard. Here
it was a bun, some mustard and your standard eight
inch dog.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
Now, I could have done a couple of things, like
because it was a very big bun, if you had
a Costco hot dog, I could have potentially just ripped
the half the bun off because it was big enough
where I could have just molded it around the hot
gey and you would know. No var would have got
you though. Or I could have just hollowed out some
of the bun to make it easier. But no, I
(26:47):
respect the game, so I played it straight up and
I did. I was close, and I didn't win, but
in the end I had a hot dog, and then
three minutes later I had another one. We got done
with the gun and I had another hot dog, and
then about twenty minutes ago, I had a third hot dog.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
So I had three hot dogs.
Speaker 4 (27:05):
I was like the devil though, like you started talking about,
it's like I might be able to go for another
hot dog. It's like, funny, I have one here on
a plate, ready.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
To go, harmy, just handsome, going, here's your next hot
on another hot dog?
Speaker 3 (27:17):
Oh hey, thank you. I appreciate that. Oh, I mean
it was a good bit.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
And obviously as we were talking about it yesterday, and
it's like the what is it the sixth time that
he goes back for a goal or fifth? Yeah, yeah,
the sixth time and then and then he ties up
the play and makes it official. Yeah, and we we
only get two more games now.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
No I know.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
Yeah, I mean people forget oh yeah, we get that
third place game that apparently England doesn't want to play
now yeah, nobody wants to play it. Yeah yeah, yeah, no,
we don't want to play okay.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
Yeah. Yeah, we talked about how odd that was last night.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
Yeah, I mean, what that one's in Miami? Right, yeah,
So let's see what the secondary market gives us today,
shall we?
Speaker 1 (27:58):
Uh? Tickets as low as six thirty five. See, that
should be third place game fifty bucks. That should be
the top price for a third place game, especially if
you don't know how much. How much is Ibope gonna play?
How much is Harry Kane gonna play? How much is
Jude Bellingham gonna play? Like, come on, man, you can't
give me that kind of money for a third place game.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
Well, I mean they might have a wink wink nod
non agreement where they both go for five goals in
a battle for the.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Now, that'll be okay.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
I always think you should treat that as a stat
padding game, right, it's a.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Third place game. Treat it like I treat it legs
at als.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
I want that game to be like eight to seven
Caine scores, five Bellingham scores, three, Bope scores.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
What was the coach.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
Coaches contract though? Is he done? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Since they're not playing for anything officially.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Oh maybe you let like a Dame Scot coach a team.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
I don't know, man, yeah, why but someone?
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Yeah, but make it like that, get like famous alums
that can come back and play. Oh hey, look, David
Beckham's gonna play for England a little bit.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
This's be kind of fun. Wayne Rooney is gonna play
a little bit.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
Oh it's kind of like, dude, make it he could
fully like that. Okay, maybe I'll watch. That'd be fun.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
Yes, six hundred and thirty five dollars. There By way
of contrast, for our championship match, that's the championship get
in price has gone up over thirty seven hundred dollars.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Yeah, I mean, look that this this may be the
look maybe the last time you get to see Messi
in a World Cup game, right, I mean you want
to say, Okay, maybe is he gonna play four more
years into his forties.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
But this might be the last.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
So if Argentina wins, does he get to sun Yamal
by bathing him at midfield?
Speaker 3 (29:32):
After?
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Absolutely they get they get to recreate that however as
pc as it looks, because you know it's still again
that's such a weird thing man that that's made the
rounds like him not bathing, Well, you get bathed bathed
by a You know what I was waiting for after
that came out, I really thought you were Frostburg would
send me the the messy bathing Yamal, except it would
(29:53):
be Brunson's face as messy and Wemby as as Yama.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
I'm sure we can find that we get I'm sure
we could get that that iteration done pretty fast. And
then even if you had to go back to the
old magazine or trading cards and cut faces.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
I thought that would be it. I thought, Okay, that's
that's gonna.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Be what we get, right, you might get some run
out of that, no question about it.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
Now. I mean, look, I I I thought I could
do it again.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
I really do not make excuses, but I really think
that it was. It was an eight inch hot dog,
and and the average size of hot dogs is six inches,
so I went big to try to do it. Could
I have done it with two less inches? Boy, I'm
just giving ty shirt all kinds of material.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
Man.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
It really is a good thing. We're in Save Harbor
at this point.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Yeah. Uh yeah, I could have.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
Uh maybe I could have maybe, But this was the
event now now there in there were no rule changes,
nothing else that this was. This is what it was.
So okay, No, it's it. That's what it was. You
gave it in the honest effort.
Speaker 4 (30:52):
I mean you did, and again, if you if you
hadn't take it so long in the first bite, that's
really where it screwed up. Yeah, because you savored it.
You chew, you took big, you took a big bite
right up to jump. Then you savored it and you
had to work it down. So by you just lost
a lot.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
I had a thing in my head where I said, Okay,
he calls goal six times. If the first three times,
I can take three big bites and for the last
couple when they get shorter, I just had the last
bite to finish. That's what I was feeling. Pretty good, huts.
But then it's great in theory. Yeah, like many things
in our ten year year at Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
In theory. Yeah, it was great in theory, great theory,
but did not do it.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
Yeah, you have it the old college try. But in
the end I had I had three hot dogs tonight.
Speaker 4 (31:38):
But also you know what I found out. I didn't
realize there was one so close to the studio. So
you know what, this can be resurrected.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Okay, very good.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Yeah, to get Choka double chunk chocolate chip cookie. Yeah,
if we're doing chocolate chip cookies that I mean, I
know I could do a whole cookie in forty seconds.
Well yeaheah, I mean that's it's pretty easy exit out
about a Fresco exit. Swelling owned The Jason Smith Show
with my best friend Mike Harmon, Jason and Mike Fox
Sports Radio. Mm hmm
