Speaker 3 (00:55):
It is the bonus hour of the show.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
Now.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
I want the listeners to take down our Twitter is
because I if you ever, if you've never been part
of the show, I need a tweet. I need you
to give me an answer to the questions. We start
off the bonus Hour at Big Vanilla Funny and it's
stinking genius Swamp. You know, we always talk about these
slow time in sports. I love football, love talking about
(01:20):
the games every Sunday night. That's all we talk about
when football season's on. But we miss some fun stuff.
And that's what I love about this time right now.
Monzi's here, Producer Bershinger's here. I forgot your damn name,
VJ Huskies here. So I wanted to ask you this question, guys.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
This is a.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Football question, kind of a football question. Paramount Pictures, You
guys heard of Paramount, They make big movies. Well, Paramount
is making a film about an offensive lineman who is
seeing his career coming to an end, so he retires early
from professional football to become a model, a male model,
(02:09):
because he's so good looking. So my question is to you, guys,
who is the best looking lineman we have here at
Fox Sports Radio that could become a model. Would it
be Jeff Schwartz, would it be Rich Ornberger, Would it
be LeVar Arrington? Or would it be from salam Which
(02:30):
was which one was?
Speaker 3 (02:31):
What did you say?
Speaker 5 (02:32):
I'm not answer this what I'm not answering.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
This what I mean you're not answering this, No, which
one's good looking? Which are the other three that are
so ugly that they can't be the male model?
Speaker 5 (02:45):
And Brady Quinn's we already have a male model of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Who's that's you?
Speaker 5 (02:51):
Huh uh?
Speaker 4 (02:53):
And Brady Quinn, Plexico, T J. Huschman, Zada, Carrie Rhoades.
Those guys don't count because they're not ugly linemen like
the other guys.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
I'm not.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
You guys don't do I get answer this by myself.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
Number one. It's not on a rundown, So thank you
for your communication.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
I did threw it to you. I did send it
to you.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
I am not about to have a male judging contest.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
I just who could I'm just wondering who could be
the actor? Neither it's paramount. I actually sent this to
a couple of the guys. Rich Ornberger immediately sent it
to his agent. He's like, I'm all in, I'm not
I'm not kidding around. He's like, no, rich might not
be the best looking of the bunch, but I think
he'd be perfect for role like that. Jeff is actually
(03:43):
a good looking guy. But I don't know how Jeff
would look in like really fancy suits and and stuff
like that. Now, LaVar Earington is a good looking guy,
and I think he looked good with like a shirt
and tie and and like dressed up, you know, all
all looking good. He from another guy. But I don't
know how you would look good in suits. I think
I'd have to give it to Rich.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
Hordenberger didn't get the sweatsuits.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
Yeah, he just wears the sweat.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
From so long where anything else? What you sweatsuits?
Speaker 3 (04:15):
I think that Rich wants to get a part and
is so bad. I mean, he just couldn't believe it.
He was roughing at the mouth.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
You know, I can't answer this.
Speaker 5 (04:21):
I work with all of them, and I don't.
Speaker 6 (04:24):
Rich is gonna be if I don't pick a Rich.
But I do like your analysis of the gentleman. I
agree with your analysis. You know, Rich would be great
just because he's so funny.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
He is. You know, you don't have funny.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
You don't have to get the lead they Rich is like,
I just want to part.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
I just want to get a part of this thing.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Yeah, you know that could be funny that that is
kind of funny because I mean, look, they're out there
in Los Angeles. Well, Jeff isn't, but I would totally
try to get a party. You know, Vja, You're you
could be an offense. You could pass for an offensive lineman.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
You should I.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
Text you that early. I'm more like a sexy tight
end man, don't I can see that sex tight end bro.
Not I'm not off with I'll just dropped twenty seven pounds.
I'm very proud of this. Okay, I'm not. Yeah, no,
I'm just I'm a sexy tight end homeboy. But I'm
still not answering this question.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
You know what.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
Somebody they said, well, look at uh Jason Kelcey, and
look at some of the other guys that have gone
on to modeling careers.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
I go, wife is Joe Burrow wore a shirt and
his back short like that?
Speaker 5 (05:30):
I got back horrible. That's not a good looking for me.
That's horrible. First of all, you should not have back here.
Get that shave, get that shade. There's way too many
there's way too many service I I am. I guess amans.
You can help me with this, because this about it,
because you get you gotta see. I get manicure, pedicure,
I get facial. I love the spa. Women been holding out. Guys,
(05:50):
take care of yourself. I've been told I'm metro sexual.
Was that the term? If you're a guy that kind
of tastes care of his by So I man escape.
I don't like hair, so everything goes. I man escape everything.
I love a great mandicure, panicure. You ever go to
Burt Williams for a day and smell that you could
lip this all through the air, drinking that cucumber and
lime water are you kidding me? And with fresh mint
(06:11):
and you gotta go in the quiet room. You can't
even take your phone in the quiet room. And it's massage. Cheers. Man,
let me tell you guys something. When girls have been like, oh,
we're gonna grab a spa, dang, guys, you think, oh
I get to day for myself, You're getting hosed. You're
getting hosed because you're sitting on the couch and your
drawers eating Captain Crunch, watching Archer. She's at the spa
having the time of Nanci and back me the spa.
Speaker 6 (06:33):
I haven't been to a spa in years, but yes, spa.
Speaker 5 (06:36):
And see you see your face, just know you just
said that you touched the backyard. Yeah, but now, what
are you gonna.
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Don't I'm here every day.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
By the way, we're gonna go a lot on Twitter.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
By the way, Doug, I've triggered, he goes. It'sacts. It's
not Twitter. This is where I turn off your show.
So Doug, Yeah, Doug burry up.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
You know what, Doug? What God blessing? We love you anyway.
I got something happens.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
When you search Twitter, it comes up.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
It comes up. That's why I'm searching.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
It says winning down say no comment to Arnie's question.
Speaker 5 (07:10):
Yeah, there you go. I got one too, man. I
got an inbox on my on my, on my. I
g a fan of the show. Listen to our network
a lot. Gail Anderson wanted to let us know that
you and Monty are tearing it up tonight. What I
tell you, it rights itself, Monty, it rights itself.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
I don't just say this stuff, guys. I'm not tearing
it up. I don't know.
Speaker 5 (07:31):
I don't know, I Askale, asked Gil Anderson. She's a
big she's a big fan of the show. I told
I give her a shout out. I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
She happy Monday night. Oh you're on fire. Tonight VJ
fabulous self promotion. Baby, let's go.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
If you're on fire, I gotta be the logs, don't
I come on the I'm.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
Not touching see, I'm not touching that. See. You know what?
Can we let's go back to sport? No, nope, you
want to talk about live in models?
Speaker 3 (07:58):
And what are you.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Saying that we shouldn't be talking about Rich Hornberger and
our colleagues Jeff Schwartz, listen, don't.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
You don't like them enough to talk about I.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
Don't know either, gentleman, that well to even answer that
question for you, But I will throw this in. Carrie Rhoades,
good looking guy. He's done acting though Carry.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Rose was on the Wheel of Fortune recently.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
I didn't know that's that's not acting the hell, but
that's still pretty funny. Has actually acted a little Okay,
I didn't know.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
That production come under the movies.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
I was in that American Pie movie thing. Oh yeah yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:36):
But I will tell you this about I'm at the
Lakers game, covering the Lakers against the Nuggets. I see Ephram.
We kind of make eye contact and just walk up
to each other. The big bro pound step back. He
sees my media pass so he tapped. He wipes out.
He's like, I can't get one of them. I said, yeah,
and I don't have your paycheck to pay for a ticket.
I see where you're sitting, so don't try to act
(08:57):
like I'm somebody's But that's the first time. I'm sorry.
I did see him out of gray sweats. He had
the fresh he had the fresh swag. Who dripping that night?
So I just gotta shot my man. Eve from a good,
great guy, And I'm sure the other two guys are
great guys too, But I'm not about the judge. Who
can be the model here? If it's not me, Oh well,
you got the wrong guy, all right.
Speaker 4 (09:18):
And of course the big news today earlier, Skip Bayless
is announced that he is going to leave Fox Sports
one at the end of the summer. I'm not sure,
maybe what happens to the show. Not sure what Skip's
going to do. A lot of people like, hey, Artie,
what about you? You're so good looking? That is true?
Speaker 3 (09:38):
What about you?
Speaker 5 (09:38):
Already?
Speaker 3 (09:38):
You know so much about sports? That is also true, Artie?
Speaker 4 (09:42):
What about you? You'd be perfect in that show? That
trifecta ding ding thing. I cannot deny. Yes, I am
so good looking, but I'm curious to see what they're
gonna do.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
VJ. Really, I'm a SKIP fan, so I am. I'm
sad to see him go.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
It's above my pay grade. Man. So that's the answer
I got with you. But if if there's you know,
open tryouts or open auditions or whatever. I got suits
and I got material ready, let's go.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
You do dress nicely though, you do have some nice suits.
Speaker 5 (10:09):
I think I feel like especially covering sports. I you know,
I feel like my mother always said, dress dressed like
you belong and dress for the position that you want next,
not the position that you currently have. And my ultimate
goal in sports is to be an NFL GM one day.
And they wear and they wear suits.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Yeah, no, I knew you do have some nice one.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
A couple of things I wanted to get to as
we finish off some college football last hour.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
Yeah, I didn't have a chance.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
But we did talk about USC and we said, well,
they could be in for a tough time, you know,
obviously starting in the Big Ten, losing Caleb Williams and
a lot of weapons out there. But I didn't get
a chance to ask you. Lincoln Riley uh Is see
on the hot seat. Plank my partner on some of
these Chris Planks said, look, he's gonna lose four games,
but he's not gonna get fired or anything that's that's
(10:52):
not going to happen. A lot of people think he
might be on the hot seat out there. What's gonna
happen to Lincoln Riley?
Speaker 5 (10:57):
No Plank is smart. He's not gonna get fired. To
paint him way too much money as access to a
golf stream, brand new jet out here, twenty million dollar
plus mansion, wife and kids of access to the private jet.
It's Beverly Hills. It's there's a lot going in here.
You hire men bringing him. My whole thing is, if
you're gonna fire somebody, okay, whatever, you gotta tell me
(11:19):
who you're getting. Though. You can't just say fire somebody.
You gotta tell me who you There's a reason why
people break up. And you see him in the club
next week with a new girl. There's a reason why
it happens. Quick is the reason why she breaks up
with a guy. And next thing you know, somebody said, yeah, man,
I saw your girl at the Dodger game last night
with some other dude. She everybody's already got their eye
kind of down the road in life. The life can
(11:39):
in any second. We don't know what's up next. So
if you're gonna fire him, okay, fine, just tell me
who you're getting. That's gonna go win you the national championship,
but it's gonna go and put you into college football playoff.
I just think they missed their window. But they didn't
draft defense fast enough. They're bringing over the coordinator from
UCLA now, but other than that, you know, you gotta
show me.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Yeah, but the loss is not acceptable for that team though.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
It is it here? Once again?
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Is it?
Speaker 5 (12:06):
What do we expect them to be?
Speaker 3 (12:07):
We expect them to be twelve and one, No, no.
Speaker 5 (12:09):
Eleven and two. Okay, so you're two wins away, your
two losses away from that. So it's gotta be somewhere
in there, right. I think nine and four, nine and
three is where USC could finish. They listen, you going
to the Big ten. Okay, it's a different recruiting battle
out there. We got the hog Mally's out there. Okay,
Northwestern can't win, but you know what they can do.
(12:30):
They can block. You know what Michigan State can do.
They can block. You know, what Michigan could do. Oh yeah,
their offensive line win the best offensive line of war
two years in a row. Ohio State's got a defense,
the dominant offense line. You gotta have those Midwest cornbread
fed guys man, those big hog millies. My coach covet
Te used to call them hosses. Hey, that big hoss
over there, that big hoss up front. You gotta have
(12:51):
about three or four of those guys, man, to be
able to compete with the big ten teams. They don't
have that out here. Everything is laid back.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
It's cool.
Speaker 5 (12:58):
It's La, it's Cali, it's you know, laid back. It's
cool man. You know. In the Midwest, it's let's work.
Let's let's get down and dirty. Put your feet three
three yards of the cloud of dust right that there's
there's a difference, and they're gonna find that out them
and u ce l A and Oregon Washington. Oh no,
they're gonna Oregon's.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Coulda be is gonna be okay out of out of
the bunch, and that.
Speaker 5 (13:21):
Their game, Their big game to me when I look
down their schedule is when the buck guys go there
in October. That's gonna tell me, what Oregon is. You
got Dylan Gabriel is gonna be the transfer quarterback that's
gonna be there. I you know, I like the kid.
I think he's cool and all. I just don't think
that he's gonna take you further than where bo Knicks
had you. Bo Knicks had you kind of on the cuff. Uh.
(13:42):
They're battling with Washington back and forth in that game
in the regular season, then they playing a game in
the Pac twelve Championship. There's no more Pac twelve. It's
now dissolved. You now gotta go play these big guys.
It's a different once again. Put on the Washington Michigan
National Championship game. Guys, just put the tape on the tape.
Don't lie. Michigan is flexing by Drive three. We're bigger
(14:03):
than you. We're gonna move you around. People thought Donovan
Edwards was lost. People thought Donovan Everards had gone away.
He ends up busting two big runs the defensive line,
then starts to push Washington's offensive line around. I mean,
the proof's in to put in man tape. Don't lie.
So in these teams. Now, you gotta go play these
teams every week. It's not just a bowl game or
(14:23):
for the national championship. And think about it, going into
the Texas game, going into the Michigan game, you had
three weeks to prepare, You knew the teams you possibly
were gonna be able to play, and you still couldn't
get ready to play those teams and hold off those
guys up front, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington are gonna find
out very very fast. The Big Ten runs college football
(14:44):
right now, headed by Michigan and Ohio State. You can't
get past them. You got no shot.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
By the way, VJ, this week is SEC Media Day.
My Sonnate Parder, Chris Plank down there now. Nick Saban
was part of the media for the SEC Media Day. No,
the head coach at Alabama, he's not used to getting
a press credential. Since he didn't get a press credentials,
he tried to get into the press conferences. They stopped
(15:09):
him and denied him access because he didn't have good
his press credential. What did you think about that? Huh?
Speaker 5 (15:16):
Listen, I'm listen, Nick. I've never been a Nick Saban guy. Wow,
And I know I don't I've never been a Nick
Saban guy. I don't like Nick Saban. I don't I
don't like people in the sport of football who act
like number one. There's got their God's gift to the sport,
Number one and the number two. Every time the rules
started to change where he couldn't, like really manipulate the
(15:37):
system and get the best players, he cried like a
little baby. And I got sick of that. If you
you adjust, you if you're If you do not adapt
in life, you shall perish. So you got to adjust
your You're Nick Saban, right, you're supposed to be the
best there is. Well, we know all teams are doing
stuff under the till we know all teams are doing
stuff to get the best players. You guys just got
the big the biggest, deepest pockets. Because you can tell
(16:00):
me all these kids want to go live in Tuscaloosa. Okay,
you can't feed me that. Now do they want to
come to Bama? Do you have the facilities when national championships? Fine,
kids don't care about that. Kids are trying to get
to the NFL to get paid. If a national championship
comes along with it, Okay, cool, so be it. But
for Nick Saban now to kind of be now this analyst,
(16:20):
and what college football needs, and what college football needs,
and what college football needs is for you to take
your ass on your retirement and go sit down somewhere
and just let the game go the where it's going.
Stop trying to pour your your old little ways onto
the game. And he a snitch. Remember when he sat
and talked about Texas A and M. And he sat
and he brought up Deon Sanders and Jackson State and
(16:41):
Travis Hunter. Remember Deon fireing back saying, hold on, they
must forget what I know that ain't come out of nowhere. Oh,
they must forget what we were told when y'all was
recruiting my son or one of the things I saw.
And he shut up real fast. But the fact that
you play that line really bothers me. That's like the
kid already that takes money in college and it goes
to the league in tells, are you kidding me? Dude?
(17:03):
You take that to the grave. Eric Dickerson, who used
to do my old radio show DJ's on Sports for
White condoc iHeart Rate is the first my own show
that I had on a on a big level by myself.
He did my show one day and he still says,
my grandmama brought me to trans Am. My grandmama brought
me to Transam. That was a question the goal trans Am, right,
(17:24):
But about Texas A and M and SMU. Dude, that's
forty years ago and he still says his grandmother brought
him to Transam. Guess what all I can believe his
grandmama brought him to Transam. The story's never changed. He
still won't say. But even if we think that so saving,
to me, I'm I'm good on saving. I kind of
want him to go I do. I want him to
(17:44):
go away because he's not fun for college football, right,
He's j husky. You could reach him at Big Vanilla Funny.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
I'm sure people are gonna want to get a few
tweets into you there. I'm and thinking genius one will
come back. Who did Fox Sports pick to win the
NFL divisions?

All right, recover to the You Alive from the Tyrock

Guys to Night, Jason Smith and his best friend Mike Harmon.
Bob tweets in great show, Arnie, you deserve a postgame dessert. Also, finally,
somebody giving me a little bit of credit, like unlike
the other person that called in that said they think.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Like just Monsey and VJ. Right, is that what you said?
Speaker 4 (19:12):
VJ?
Speaker 5 (19:12):
Is that what it was? Yeah? Yeah, I mean when
you I mean, listen, what do you want me to do? Man?
You know you can't sugarcoat it for me. I'm not on.
I'm not on as much as I would, you know,
love to be unblessed, and I'm happy with what I
do have here. But he's soing on more. Man. I
gotta you know, I gotta make an impact, babe. I
gotta keep my name relevant to keep people remember it.
There's other great talent here, baby, everybody.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Knows who you are.
Speaker 5 (19:34):
Dude, Like, stop trying to stow the spotlight.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Okay, let's I want to get to this because Fox Sports.
I believe this is Fox Sports TV. H the Fox
Sports one guys, because I don't think they did this
to the radio, uh yet. We usually do this separately.
But they came out with their predictions for the NFL
this season. Just kind of go over them a little bit, uh.
And I'll start with this the AFC East. They had
the Dolphins twelve and five, Jets and Buffalo both ten
(19:59):
and seven, Patriots three and fourteen. Can't disagree with any
of that. Dolphins probably win the division. I think the
Jets are overrated. I don't think Aaron Rodgers has a
great year. Could see them going maybe a nine and eight,
ten and seven the best. Buffalo's lost a lot of weapons.
I don't know who their wide receivers are gonna be.
I think they take a step backwards enough to be
(20:19):
right there with the Jets and the Patriots fans. They
don't even know that they're that bad. Three and fourteen
exactly where I think them. I think they're gonna be.
I think that's a great one through four.
Speaker 5 (20:30):
Yeah. I like that for the Patriots too. Vegas has
the overrun under Wintle at four and a half. New
head coach Rookie QB at San Francisco, at Cincinnati, at Miami,
at Buffalo, and then Arizona at home. They get it
late bye week fourteen might help them out, but I
think they'll have a lot of problems there. I like
that where Buffalo kinde is. I can see them get
(20:52):
into eleven and six though, just simply because Josh Allen,
whether you like the guy or not, you know you
can know if you when it's third and nine breaks
down back there, you better wrap that guy up and
bring him down. Because that big hal so drag you
or run over you and shake you, jumps over and
leaps over people, and he's been able to avoid the
big hit and the big injury that running quarterbacks do
(21:13):
get them bump ass jets. I don't see a ten
to seven. This is a circus. They're they're gonna be
under five hundred. No, they're because they're pushing all their
chips in out of desperation. If Aaron Rodgers doesn't get
hurt last year, Rob Sala's not their head coach, he
kind of gets a mulligan because they had to play
four quarterback. Of course, so he kind of gets a mulligan.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
But he hurt.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Who knows they don't have a good year loot exactly.
Speaker 5 (21:34):
But like I said, that's why they get the mulligan
this year because we can just say, well, they didn't
have Aaron Rodgers got hurt on the fourth play, the
fourth offensive fifth offensive play, So everybody come back. Let's
bring in a bunch of talent. Let's overloads on some pieces.
Let's bring in two tackles, both over thirty years old,
one has you know, injury history, to fix the offensive
(21:56):
line and see where we go from there. It's just
another bad hit. He didn't what good is last year
in Green Bay. So I don't understand why people think
he can steal. Oh, but the way the ball comes
out of his hand, just looks so beautiful. Well, yeah,
it's got to be on target, it's got to hit
a receiver, it's got you know, a lot's got to happen.
And I've never seen the Jets do nothing, so why
would I think they'll do it this year?
Speaker 4 (22:13):
All right, let's get to the AFC North. Real interesting
because they got a team going from Wort's the first
that's Cincinnati. Now, I'm not your typical last place team.
They did finish nine and eight. They get their quarterback
back in Joe Burrow. They have Baltimore at eleven and six,
though they've added a lot of key pieces to that team.
Cleveland nine to eight and Pittsburgh sub five hundred for
(22:35):
the first time in gosh, who knows.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
How long eight and nine. That's a tough one to call.
I'm not so sure.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Look, I think Cincinnati maybe wins the division, but not
with thirteen to four.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
I'm not so sure. Cleveland, well, Cleveland is a five
hundred team. I do kind of agree with that.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
It's it's a tough division to call, but they gave.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Go to too many wins for CINCINNT I believe.
Speaker 5 (23:00):
Yeah, they get to me. When's the Cincinnati Baltimore is
gonna be the thirteen and fourteen. They could be fourteen
and three. This team is the number one rushing team
in the NFL over the last twenty four months. You
wouldn't be able to tell that from the way they
called games. They call the game an AFC championship game,
trying to figure out still what was going on there.
But I just love the defense. I love Za Flowers,
I love some of the younger weapons they do have
(23:21):
their get their tight end back. That guy hurt Lamar
Jackson two tome MVP, and your coach name is John Harbaugh.
The guy can just flat out coach football like it's
in his blood, it's in his DNA. The Bengals, I'm
just not sold on because they got a receiver that's
not didn't reach a deal, so now he's gonna play
on this last deal here and see what happens in
the free agency. Jamar Chase got banged up last year.
Joe Burrow has now missed portions of two different seasons.
(23:44):
It's funny I hear people, especially even I think it
was today or recently, Chris Brussard talked about not paying
two or giving it the bad because He's only stayed
fully healthy one full season. Yeah, neither is none of
the other top quarterbacks that are getting paid right now.
Two guys make it fifty five million. Both of them
have time since they've been in the NFL. Once again,
why does toua Why? Why is the difference for Tua.
(24:05):
I don't like the nine and eight for the Browns,
as I said that in my number ten team. I
love the defense here, love Lamari Cooper. Think he's one
of the most quiet disrespected receivers. They get chubbed back,
you know, like five and zero last year and three
in games three scored three points or less. That could
flip this year. But they win close games to Shawn Watson.
(24:26):
There's the lynch pin is he was last year?
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Just Russ not buying it.
Speaker 5 (24:30):
Is that No, I'm fit, Listen, I'm holding I'm holding
reservation because I gotta see it. I know what I
saw in Houston. That was a long time ago, in
football years, in football games, in football time. Bro, that's
an eternity ago. Nobody cares anymore. Nobody cares how well
you play when you were down. Now we gotta see
it here because you gotta guaranteed contract that really pissed
(24:53):
off all the owners and was really telling people not
to give Lamar Jackson the same thing. Like you really
started a domino effect here. You shut that up, Come out,
ball out Steelers on the five hundred. Yeah, wake me
when that happens.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
All right, Let's get to the AFC South, where they
have the Texans at ten and seven, followed by the
Colts at nine and eight, Jaguars nine and eight, Titans
eight and nine. Not so sure that the Texans are
gonna be that low. I expect a little bit more
out of them. Surprised Trevor Lawrence Jacksonville.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
Down in nine and eight.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
I don't know if a whole lack of a lot
of uh, you know, interest with the Colts at nine
and eight, probably exactly where they should be right there.
I think Tennessee's gonna be worse than the eight nine
record there.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
What do you think?
Speaker 5 (25:37):
I would love to see who made this list over
our colleagues here, Not that that you know, not the
beanngin anybody, But Tennessee is gonna be horrible this year.
They're not getting They're gonna be They might get half
of the eight, so they might get four and and
I think Vegas has their over underwins for Tennessee. I
believe it's six and a half. So I'm trying to
figure out how you think they're getting the eight Jacksonville,
the Colts and the Texas. It could look this tight,
(26:00):
but Anthony Richardson comes back. They got Flacco there as
a backup. Let's not forget that the Colts have the
division in their hands, ladies and gentlemen, and on fourth
and one and at home in the game to end
the year for the division for a home playoff game,
they decided to throw out to the flat to a
full back they sub in that was only targeted one
time prior to that pass. It hits his hands and
(26:22):
he drops it in the flats. That's how Houston gets
the first round game at home, and they get the Browns,
and they got a hurt quarterback, their beat up No Chubb.
Flacco ran out of you know, his magic juice. He
was running the round off of to get them that far.
And I think I think Houston is gonna be a
team that's gonna take a step back there, a little overrated.
The Jags are gonna bounce back. Guys they had last
year at one point, they were the number one, number
(26:44):
two seed in AFC. Started having some injuries, goys start
to fall off, and things just went south, I believe,
losing their last five or six to end the season.
I think they bounced back. Peterson's Super Bowl winning coach,
Trevor Lawrence has got the big bag. Now you have
traves Et at the running back position. Gabe guy we
talked about early in the show from Buffalo, that's where
he is now. He's down there in Jacksonville. They've added
(27:05):
weapons there and Calvalilly has moved on, so he'll take
his spot there. I like Jacksonville to win this division
right here. I like him at about eleven and six.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
One more division in the AFC.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
That's the West where where they have Kansas City twelve
and five, Chargers nine and eight, seven to ten for
the Broncos Raiders six and eleven. Nothing that really stands
out there. I mean, look, we want to see what
Harbor is going to do, but everything seems pretty fair
in that division right now.
Speaker 5 (27:37):
Honestly, I love it I love this is probably the
best one that they got. Kansas City's Kansas City Harball
will take them from five wins from last year. I
got him at nine or more. That's where I've already
stamped my prediction. I think bot Nicks is going to
be better than people think he is because he's got
Sean Payton. And if this is the guy Sean Payton
wants and gots, he reminds me a lot of a
(27:57):
kind of a bigger but not taller Drew Brees. He's
just just make the throw, see see read, see let
it go. And that's how he coaches the position. And
I think bo Nicks would be fine there. I want
to like the Raiders a lot more than people than
other people do.
Speaker 3 (28:12):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
They just don't have a quarterback and that's the end.
Then the DeVante Smith thing, I'll excuse me, Devonte Adams
is going to fest if they start one and four,
two and five too. He is not going to play nice.
I saw all I needed.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
Is he gonna be traded before the season starts?
Speaker 5 (28:28):
No, No, absolutely not. He would have to make a
real stinking training camp, but you could. But for what though,
you feel me like, for what you that, what's your
reason he wants to play with the started? Then then
just say that and started. Now, don't get into camp.
That's unprofessional. Don't get into camp with kind of this
(28:48):
back door playing.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Well he's on professional screaming you're gonna get me killed.
Speaker 5 (28:52):
I tried. I tried to tell my co Hill so
Saturday that He's like, well, that's emotion. I'm like, but
there's a time leaders. Yeah, when you're a leader, there's
a time and place to conder. You already know this situation. Jimmy. Listen,
if Jimmy g was so great, did San Francisco wouldn't
let him go.
Speaker 4 (29:07):
Just he didn't get into a super Bowl. They were
one play away from winning the Super Bowl. Kay, gotta
give him some credit for that. And didn't he go
two four eleven in that fourth quarter?
Speaker 3 (29:14):
From not?
Speaker 5 (29:15):
Yes? What there? It is? All right?
Speaker 4 (29:17):
Let's get to the NFC East where they have the
Eagles going twelve and five, Cowboys ten and seven, Giants
eight nine, Washington five and twelve. I think they have
the Cowboys a little bit low. I don't have a
problem with them not winning the division. I think they're
more eleven win team. But I'm not gonna argue for
like one or two games in that situation.
Speaker 5 (29:37):
I don't mind this one either. This was pretty accurate.
I like the Eagles. I think the Eagles have a
big bounce back. I do. I just they were banged
up last year. I've already read you guys the numbers
as far as how many games, as far as defensive backs,
how many times defensive backs miss games, and how many
times linebackers, And that's important, that is important in football.
Jalen Hurst was banged up and then and then let's
not forget Brown, who had a great receiving year. He
(29:59):
wasn't even and he disappear at one point. They didn't
know what was up with him. I think Deavonte Smith though,
takes the mantle as the number one wr for them
this year. I just love that kid. A lot of
Marvin Harrison and hit. Now Mary, there's a junior, not Maserati,
the dad. A lot of Marvin Harrison and him. Giants
played tough because they got a tough coach and they
got a good defense. Don't have a quarterback. Washington's in trouble.
(30:22):
They got a rookie quarterback, new head coach, don't know
what the players feel about where they're gonna end up
next year. Moved on from Samuel. He's up at Buffalo
right now. So they left some weapons. Go got Tara
McLaurin and some other guys there, But then they got
a lot of holes in Washington. I think that's a
I think that's a really bad team this year.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
Let's get in the NFC North where they have green
Bay eleven and six, tight with the Lions at eleven six,
Bears nine and eight, Minnesota eight nine like it where
they have the Bears of Minnesota. I'm thinking green Bay.
Everybody has them overrated. I think that Detroit wins that division.
Speaker 5 (30:54):
Though Detroit wins the division, but I don't mind eleven
and six by green Bay. Just give me two more
wins on Detroit side and give me a thirteen and fort.
They went twelve and five last year, so you're telling
me they can't. They're not gonna be one game better
after you know, rookies have a one year under their
belt and golf. All you gotta do is just drop
back and find the guy they got weapons Man Laporta,
(31:14):
I'm around Saint Brown. They have two running backs to
get the ball to how about your mirror Gibbs. How
about that kid, He's like a Marshall Faulk type player.
Reggie Roger Craig the two thousand thousand yard backs in
NFL history. I think Christian McCaffrey also might have been
added to that. I'm not sure, but he's that kind
of guy. You know, he's not gonna get thousand on
the ground because you got Montgomery there. And Montgomery's gonna
run really hard coming out of Chicago like he did
(31:36):
last year. So I like them at thirteen four. I
don't mind where they have the Packers. I'll keep them
at eleven to six. I'm dropping the Bears about four
wins off of that. Give me a five and twelve
six and eleven Bears team rookie quarterbacks still and then
I love the weapons. I love JJ McCarthy, I love
them bouncing back. They lost Justin Jefferson and Kirk Cousins
(31:57):
last year, had to play three quarterbacks. Brian Loes the head,
the defensive coordinator. There number one blitz win rate in
the NFL. The last two years. They add Van Ginkle
from the Dolphins, to that Russian to that defensive rush
as at they come after you they get you, give
me ten wins for them.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
We'll finish up with the South and West when we
get back right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
Wow, what a quick show this was. Today is we're
covering you alive from the Tyreck dot Com Studios. VJ Husky,
Arnie Spaniard in for the guys. Jason Smith is his
best friend, Mike Harmon. I do want to say this,
Jason said, you guys there on Fox Sports Radio, namely
thinking genius, big vanilla, funny Manzilanos have become family. Thank
(32:50):
you all, so we do appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (32:52):
You love Jason Man. He's a big time listener and
tweet and him and I talk a lot through Twitter,
and he really means that. He really is a fan man,
So we appreciate you. Yes, we do love bro.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
Thanks to the crew today, Mark Ramsey Are technical director,
bersh Are, producer Monci of course on the updates. I
want to thank my partner VJ. Thanks the Smith and
Harmon for letting us fill on in. Let's finish out
the two divisions because there's only two left.
Speaker 5 (33:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
In the NFC.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
South, they have Atlanta and Tampa both died and eight,
Saints seven and ten, Carolina five and twelve. I've thought
Atlanta was supposed to be a little bit better. I
was thinking more like ten wins in control of that division.
Speaker 5 (33:33):
What do you think I want to go? Ten wins
for the buckst I think the Bucks are being slept on.
They have a really good defense, and they run the
ball really well. And it looks like Baker's taking his
his his veterans step forward now right, and that that
that coordinator is now down the head coach at Carolina
and hoping he can work his magic with b wy
Bryce Young. I don't mind what the Saints are because
(33:55):
it's like I've I've had.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
By the way, is Bryce Young? I mean, can you
do that?
Speaker 6 (33:59):
Or what?
Speaker 3 (34:00):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (34:01):
They need weapons? Man, you gotta protect the kid. He
was running for his life all year long. He was
running for his once again tape don't lie. You can
try to use the comparison with him to see j Stroud. Yeah,
he doesn't have a Larry M. Tunsel that is first
team all pro to the left. He didn't have one
one of those guys. You gotta give this kid a
shot man to find receivers. Maingo looks like he could
be a guy that get legged. The rookie out of
(34:21):
South Carolina. Try to get some weapons there. It's gonna
be a few years. I don't mind five and twelve,
six and eleven. Hey, it's better than two and fifteen. Right.
The Saints is seven wins, you know what, I guess
it's about right. I've been trying to defend Derek Carr
all these years, and I like them to win the
division last year, which they would have done until the
later game happened on the last Sunday of the year
and knocked them out. So they were right there. So
(34:42):
I give me, give me the buck, give me the bucks.
With ten wins, I'll knock the Falcons down because I
think Kurt doesn't play the whole year. Then they gotta
play Pendix and that's a rookie coming in the middle
of the year. Maybe seven and maybe seven nineers, but
you can win this division ten wins.
Speaker 4 (34:58):
Let's finish out with the West with they have San
Francisco thirteen to four. YEP, the Rams ten and seven,
Cardinals eight nine Seahawks in the last it's seven to ten.
They were with a little bit of an upset there.
I can possibly see that San Francisco the certainly should
have a command of that division.
Speaker 5 (35:14):
Yeah, I like where San Francisco is right there. I
do like the Rams to be at about ten to eleven wins.
I love the way McVeigh bounce back after the Super
Bowl hangover year got those guys back to playoff win.
They were riding that game in Detroit. Easily could have
won that game. Pooking the coup is legit. Let's not
forget Cooper cup Coops having the kegger. All right, beby, everybody,
come over the Cardinals. I'm fifty to fifty. I have
(35:34):
no idea where his team's gonna go. I really don't,
But I do like Seattle to be more than seven wins.
Maybe the Cardinals are a six seven win team. And
Pete Carroll in his seventies chomping on that gum, still
storming the sideline. Hey, Zach Sharbonnay, the running back, the
kid out of out of Michigan State. Good young defense there,
you got a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (35:54):
Say, good job vj up.
Speaker 5 (35:58):
I love it, Thank you man so much.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
Brian No and Eddie Garcia sitting in for Ben Mallard.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
That's next here on Fox the Radio.
