Speaker 2 (00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Hello, Welcome in side final hour tonight the Jason Smith
Show with my bass friend Mike Harmon. NBA Action All done,
All done. We'll have more on the JV game. Wow
Spurs win over the Tea Wolves coming up in about
(00:50):
twenty minutes. Because people still care about you. In univarsity games,
it's the better series. People's kids play in those games too.
They want to know. It's not just about the varsity.
But the varsity is the varsity.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
You're not the varsity.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yes, we have varsity and Rick Steiner, the Varsity is
one of the best places to eat in all of Syracuse.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
There is that.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Now, maybe you've heard the Knicks are up three erh
go New York, Go, New York, Go, Go New York,
Go New York, Go go near.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Three, oh, Nixon four, Nick and four Nixen four.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Just to.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Lay things out here.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Because you calm for a little bit here before we
get back into Just lay this out here, because this
is this is the Steaks right now, mistakes, these are
the Steaks where they are at. Okay, he saw the
next win tonight And for the last couple of weeks,
outside of two ridiculously craptastic endings against the Hawks and CJ.
(01:57):
McCollum and Jonathan Kamingo, this has been the best the
Knicks have been in three years. In this three year
run that coincided. That started with the run where everybody
got hurt and they lost to the Pacers, and then
last year where they blew it to the Paces in
the first game of the of the Eastern Conference Finals.
(02:19):
Now the Pacers are in the lottery, so I have
to worry about that. Uh. The Knicks right now up
three zip over the seventy six.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
You know what it coincides with though Mother's Day, No,
somebody paid off Dan House and then he unlifted the curse.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
There's six and oh since that happened, Dan Housen, oh
oh oh, I'm sorry. They gave him his human money. Oh,
I was supposed to uncurse the Mets. I uncursed the Knicks.
You gave me blue an orange stuff uncursed? Oh God,
it go.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
I don't think.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
But uh, the last month we talked about last month
of the regular season. We've had this conversation with Rick Buker. Defensively,
the Knicks finally got it right. Things finally got better
for the Knicks defensively in the last month of the season.
So you see them the way they've played and the
way they played in the sixer series, the way they
played in the fourth quarter tonight where the seventy six
(03:10):
ers were down by four, five, down by six, down
by four, down by seven, down by five. Defensively, the
Knicks were everywhere. They didn't let Tyres Maxi get loose.
They didn't let Joel Embiid get loose anywhere than then
twenty five feet away from the basket. Everything they did defensively,
they rotated. The best thing that philosph the Philadelphia seventy
(03:32):
six ers had in the fourth quarter was your fourth
or fifth scoring option on the floor at that time
with an open three, because the next thing, you know,
what if your fourth or fifth best player can hit
a three. Hey, God bless you and and we'll figure
it out.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
And they did miss a number of wide open that's right,
But that's the whole thing, right, that's what they turned
them into, that team that needed to shoot those threes
and they didn't. Defensively, the Knicks are playing at their
highest level. And this is a team with Kat and
Brunson on the floor at the same time and no
and Unobi tonight who sat out with his injury. Offensively,
(04:08):
and I'll be the first one to say I never
saw this with Carl Anthony Towns. This is why Mike
Brown is the head coach. Carl Anthony Towns, boy doesn't
he doesn't bring it every night. He's in every other game. Guy,
he needs to be a twenty five and twelve guy
every night, the number two option behind Jalen Brunson. This
is what's gonna make the Knicks into a big finals contender.
(04:28):
And we didn't get it until the last couple of months.
And now you see it in the playoffs. Kat is
the facilitator, big man that makes the Knicks offense go.
It helps Jalen Brunson tremendously with the pressure he has
the bringing the ball up the floor. Also, now being
able to free himself up for open threes, running the
(04:50):
ball through Karl Anthony Towns has been the solution. He's
only scoring between eight and sixteen points a night, but
he's had fourteen rebounds and seven to ten as. This
has turned the Knicks into the best version of themselves
because mccal bridges is still gonna score right, the scoring
is fine. Usually was anunobi earlier in the playoffs who
(05:11):
was taken up most of that slack, and now tonight
it was mcal bridges, but it could be Josh Hart
on a night. The Knicks have more than enough players
to score, and the fact that they were able to
hit on this and turn Karl Anthony Towns into a
facilitator has turned the Knicks in an offense where they're
blowing the doors off of teams right. Stet de Sager
gave us the stat I'm starting to get excited again.
(05:31):
He gave us the stat a few minutes ago about
how the Knicks margin of victory through the first however
many games this point to the to the to the
playoffs is bigger than any margin in the NBA in
twenty five years. Like that's how well they're playing. That's
that's the level the Knicks are at right now. If
they don't get to the finals this year, they're never
gonna go like you need you need to be playing
(05:54):
your best. You need things to go your way if
you are going to do you're no longer in the
NBA going to just I'm in posing my will on
every round and winning. You need breaks, you need to
be healthy. You need to catch a team where maybe
one of their players is injured. That's how it goes
in the NBA. Coming into the playoffs, how did the
road look like for the Knicks? Well, first round series
(06:14):
against the Hawks, they'll probably win that, but boy, they're
gonna get the Celtics in the next round. And the
Celtics are a bad matchup for the Necks, especially with
Tatum coming back and the Pistons the number one team
in the in the in the conference. They're gonna roll
through the first couple rounds. They'll be well rested, young,
they're gonna throw a whole bunch of depth at whoever
comes out of that second round series. Well, what do
we see now, Well, the Celtics lose in the first
(06:35):
round and the Pistons look more than get able. In
that first round against the Magic. The Knicks draw the
Sixers and bead Is injured and missus game two. Even
without and Unobin, now they're still able to win Game three.
The breaks have all been going their way. The schedule
is lining up for them. Yes, you're always gonna play
(06:55):
somebody tough in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Right, Oh, but if only wasn't the Pistons and they're
getting hot. Get okay, you're gonna play somebody good. This
is the pisses in the Eastern Conference Finals. Let's see
how good you are when the lights are really bright
in the Knicks team that is still young enough, that's
been here the last couple of years. If the Knicks
don't go to the finals this year, they're never gonna go.
I may as well say, you know what, I'm stopping
to watch basketball. I'm gonna focus on college and Jerry
(07:19):
mcmahritt's Syracuse because it's never gonna happen. If they don't
go to the finals this year, it's not gonna happen.
I've heard this before, not gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
You haven't threatened to quit your job or anything, but uh,
you know you're you're on that path.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
But Chris Russo, now suddenly I'll retire if this out.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Oh I was only kidding. I was like doing that
for clicks. Ah, sorry, go ahead, go to the well.
The boy who cried Wolf won too many times. Yeah,
I'm still moderately concerned about depth issues if you do
have an injury that forces even a guy out for
a half, but that has that road hasn't come up
for you yet. You got a big game from Shamma tonight.
Mitchell Robinson being asked about the whether he's gonna put
(07:57):
the dunk he had on and B as his background
on his phone or anything, He's like, no, no, no, no,
let's let's not go doing that. Let's put the two
free throws you made.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Let's put that. Let's put that poster up the roof.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Yeah, he goes four of eight from the line on
the night. They missed nine free throws too.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
By the way, just to tell you real quick, like
when they did the hack of Robinson in the third
quarter and they sent him with the free throw lined
one out of two, they did it right away again,
send him with the free throw line.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
He made him both.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
I go in desager is sitting there, just getting ready
to do his up and I go, Steve, I go, Steve, Hey, uh,
you might need to break into program He looks at me,
Go you gonna break in next game? Mitchell Robinson just
had two free throws in a row, and like the
look came over Steve's face went from what to you,
son of a blanket? You came in here to tell me?
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Look, man, you're going into his sanctuary. You're breaking like
he's got here, he's got it measured and ready to go.
And then and then you try to drop that.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Walking into Steve's update studios like when you walk in
to see the Dawn the beginning of Godfather went when
when when?
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (09:01):
When when Luca Brazi goes in to ask the dawna
favor I come to you in the day at my
daughter's wedding.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Okay, Like that's what it's like walking in. Okay, do
you get the swivel in the chair turned back to you? Yeah?
And then and then he kind.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
Of could be kinda he kind of gave you a
little He gives a little bit of the back of
his fingernails on under his chin, going maybe I will
break into programming. And tell everybody that Mitchell Robinson made
two free throws in a row. It is impossible. It
is not that you may never see that again.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
This is it line for him. You'll you'll, you'd.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Probably in life see show Hail Tani pitch another playoff
game with three home runs and was twelve strikeouts?
Speaker 3 (09:40):
How many strikeouts? Did you have? Fourteen strikeouts? Well, you'll
probably see that again before Mitchell Robinson makes two free
throws in a row, you just might. Yeah. But yeah,
Sixers team flawed. I mean you got thirty five out
of MB minutes wise tonight, but terrible and kept settling
for bad shots to your point in that fourth quarter, uh,
when the game was still in the battle, just a
(10:01):
bunch of bad possessions to allow the Knicks to break
out on the other end, and Jalen Brunson hitting big
shots whereas you know Philly for all of the would
be closers. And we've used that big Paul George stat,
I mean, oh yeah, invisibility on the.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Frostburg was it?
Speaker 1 (10:20):
You say you have a big stat for It's huge, Tyscher.
Can we set up Frostburg He's got a big stat
for us. Can we have the we have the news,
we have the music, the music for Frostburg got the horse.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
Yeah, you got the music. That's justin, justin. What's your stats?
Broke off? Paul George. Yeah, unbelievably.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
Had fifteen points in the first quarter.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
In the first quarter.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
Now, I don't know if you know this big part. Okay,
his over undertotal of the night was seventeen and a half.
Oh wow, so people cashed in if you bet playoff.
He was doing his thing in the he went off
for fifteenth.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
Oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Never hit his total. No wait, you're kidding me. He
didn't score the rest.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Of the game. Nope. You want to know what the
best is the whole show? Yeah, six of eighteen from
the field. He was also minus fourteen. Yeah, so his
that result, he was worth one point. He had fifteen
points in the first half and then still first quarter,
the first quarter, and still finished up minus fourteen, zero
free throw attempts. He and Maxie neither of them went
(11:30):
to the line at all.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Go New York, Go, New York, go go. And the
thing is, the first quarter went as well as it
could for the Sixers.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Fifteen.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Yeah, Paul George drops fifteen and beide was involved, Maxie
was four for four, Edgecomb had points like, hey web
sure yeah, Doctor J had a couple of yeah yeah.
Moses Malone right, he was faux fox, phoning it all
the way through Ramone, Yeah, who had the better career
arguing yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
All that.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
There was about as good at first quarter as you
could expect, and they still wound up losing. I mean
that's why I said the other night, I don't know
how the seventy six ers just go home and think
everything that's happened to us the first two games we
can turn into a victory.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Well, we're gonna.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Try to go and feed and feed Embead because that's
how we beat the Celtics. Well, that didn't work in
game one. Hey, embiid didn't play in game two. Not
the worst thing. Maxi takes over in the first half.
Maybe a better matchup for us because we're not worried
about getting the ball to em Beat and forcing it
to him. No, they lose that game. Well, now we're
home and we got him be back in the first quarter.
Everybody's involved and Paul George has fifteen and you still lost.
(12:38):
The Sixers just aren't as good as the Knicks. They're
just not They're just not as good. And you're seeing
now in the playoffs. When I said going in, my
big hope for the next my big candle that I
have lit that had lit was maybe they just need
that calendar to flip from the regular season of the
playoffs and we're gonna see something extra special because we've
seen this team go deep in the playoffs the last
(12:59):
four years. Right to Jalen Brunston showed up, it's second
round of the playoffs. Are better every year, where before
Jalen Brunston it was we're in the lottery every year. Okay,
maybe we get in the first round, maybe we win
one game, but we're home very early.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
And they also had the greatest motivation that any team
has ever had, pizza at the end of the game.
They were all snubbed from the met Gallas. So they're pissed.
They're not even celebrated in their own town by a
bunch of pretentious folks.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
You see, you make it seem like the entire Knicks
roster showed up and they all want all of them.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
Dole In with his guitar didn't wandering troubadour leading them
towards the hallways and the bubble that is the Mets
gallup the guy.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
Uh it only says several New York Knicks playoffs, including
several unnamed members, don't. They don't want to be You
don't want to be called out. You want you want
your name suppressed because you don't want to be called
out as not being good enough to get in.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Dude, if they'll bring the bell on you.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
If Brunson and Cat got turned away, that's incredibly embarrassing.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
So I don't think it was them. I don't.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Maybe it was Landry Shammitt be and he just said, blank,
you watch what I do in fifteen here. I'm gonna
drop fifteen off.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
The match he matched playoff team. It's gonna be the
Landry Shammitt game. Shammitt Shdannett Shammitt sham I love you
playoff beat. Yeah, yeah, he did go New York, Go,
New York Go. But at least Paul George is playing.
There was no guarantee that that was the case.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
In the end.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
As a Knicks fan and is a Sixers fan, you
take it even even worse is that we're losing with
Paul George and Joel Embiid playing honestly, what do you think?
Yes or no?
Speaker 1 (14:48):
Does Joel Embiid playing Game four? I say, I bet
she doesn't. I bet you there's you're gonna find out
he's not playing Game four soft. Yeah, I bet she doesn't.
That's like cream cheese soft. I'll bet you a dog
it's been left out of the fridge for like an hour.
Bet you would be sold into a recipe. I'll bet
you a dollar for soda and I'll show you where
on the field. Bet dollar for Sorry, you're gonna show
me that dollar for soda and beat is a d
(15:09):
I'll say he plays terrible exit up out of Fresco
Exit Swallen Dome and complaints the whole way.
Speaker 3 (15:17):

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my bass
friend Mike Harmon. Yeah, so a little bit more on
the Knick Sixers before we get to stop stop they're
already dead. Stop dudge, Really, what do you got, Frosburg?
Wait all, we got to stat coming up in twenty minutes.
(17:19):
That's stat of the day. Okay, okay, you got Steve
to say you're worried.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
After the game tonight, Joel Embiid talked about how the
discrepancy at the free throw line between the Knicks and
the Sixers was a pretty big deal. And in Joel
Embiid's words as well, the Knick shot thirty two free throws,
and you know, we shot twenty one. Whatever it was.
(17:51):
We're not a three point shooting team, so you tell me,
But go back and look at the box score tonight.
You want to know who shot more three pointers tonight?
The Sixers?
Speaker 3 (18:01):
Well, I mean that was also an act of desperation
as they were down big and struggling to come back.
But they did shoot thirty two. Yeah, half the free
throws though, twenty three of thirty two. I mean, because
the margin of victory would have been even bigger. If
you guys can hitch your freethroes take the l manx L.
Nick Nurse talked about misshot Tom, You're not. It's a
(18:23):
make or miss league in the NBA. It's not like
you suddenly couldn't make You had open shots, you couldn't
make them. Right, There's nobody that's losing this series other
than the fact that the Knicks are the better team.
They have the better talent than they are out executing you.
It's not about going to the free throw line making
a you know why the Knicks went to the free
throw line. Oh, by the way, Joel Mbi probably forgets
the hack of Robinson's strategy that the Sixers employed in
(18:45):
the third quarter, where they sent Robinson to the line
just on regular offensive cechere they grabbed him when he
crossed half.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Court six times. So there's six of your big free
throws right there, just because you want to do Hacker
Robinson strategy.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
The Knicks average bridged two and a half more three
point attempts per game during the regular season. It's not
the regular season, it's postseason. And look, the refereeing card
right is seems to be the in vogue. Let's throw it.
We talked about Finch and the altercation with Tony brothers.
We talked about the Lakers, and okay, see yesterday, neither
(19:21):
side happy at all, right, because it's not like the
thunder lived at the foul line for all of the
anger that the Lakers displayed. Conversely, it's Austin Reeves had
the most free throw attempts of anybody in the game,
but he was obviously upset, was still mad at the
(19:42):
SGA call when he tried to take his arm. I'll
get that arm. He went full MCU trying to rip
off his arm in that set. But was it just
wet dangling when you grabbed it from him? How did
that happen? How did that go? What did he say
when you got the arm from him? Just try to
take his arm? But really every showing around. So yes,
(20:07):
there's a small discrepancy over the course of the regular season.
Guess what the game was tonight. You guys were desperate.
You went into three point mode and and Being took
four himself. I really thought he took more because all
four of them were terrible, horrible decisions and horrible shots.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Now, now that being said, I don't want to completely
destroy joellebe because I need to apologize to Joellen, But
you do I need to?
Speaker 3 (20:30):
I do.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
I'm I'm a man of my word and I'm some Hey,
when something happens and someone deserves an apology, I apologize
to that about that's mighty big, especially on a Friday night,
closing out a week so you can go into the
weekend with a clear conscience. It's about atonement, right, isn't
Easter on Sunday? Yeah, it's about atonement. What's Mother's Day?
(20:52):
Same Mother's Day, same thing? Mother's Day? Your tony cola.
Maybe maybe you're writing, you know, cards to moms, grandma's.
It's better a kid or you know.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
I mean, you're a tone.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
All I do is apology. I feel like everybody I
thought I was a pretty good kid. Yeah, I still
think I'm apologizing. I think all the big holidays on
a Sunday are about atonement. Trying to do all this
Sunday Day. I mean, what's Fathers Day? It kind of
gets ignored.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Yeah, that's it's not.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Really a holiday. Yeah, Arbor Day is not on Sunday,
is it. No, that's when that's like a taj when
the ships come sailing into the arbor and former island
out arbor of it. But I need to apologize to
Jowell and Bee. Okay, arbor Day is that's in the fall? No,
it's April.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
It was April twenty fourth, really for sure?
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Now fall?
Speaker 3 (21:45):
How about that? If you put a gun to my
head and said you die if you don't tell me
this typically observed the last Friday of April.
Speaker 1 (21:51):
If you said to me, if you die, if you
don't tell me the season that arbor Day is in,
and it's not in the summer or the winter, I
would say, ah, fall, Yeah, I'm gonna live forever.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
No, no, not me. You were trying to get into
the fall. So it was the season of the witch.
Is that what you're doing?
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Give me the Albundy line of it's probably a bullet
with my name on it.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
I'll get it.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
I need to apologize to Joellebie really, Okay? I do
I do?
Speaker 1 (22:16):
Because something that I said about him a few days ago.
Speaker 3 (22:21):
I was wrong about I was wrong. I was wrong.
I'm telling you I was wrong. I was wrong. No,
I was wrong. I heard him a dirty no no
no no no, it's no something I said where I
said swipe or no swipe And.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
You know four days later, five days later, I was wrong.
So I'm gonna say, Joel Embiid, I'm sorry. Turns out
you were right about making sure Nick's fans don't get
into game three.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
Yeah, I thought you were gonna Jason was sorry, perhaps asolutely.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
The other the thing I thought you were really gonna
apologize for was say I'm sorry when I talked about
the end of the Celtics and Sixers series. Right because
we did the four game seven we did last Friday night.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
Hey, and you said and you said they're gonna win,
and I'm afraid of them.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
So I thought you were gonna apologize for thinking that
they were.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Oh no, no, no good no, no, no, after tonight
where you saw the Sixers went to great lengths to
keep tickets away from the Knicks fans. Right because Embiid
said before Game one, not worried about Game one, Game two?
What do you think about the knixt series? Hey, let's
make sure we buy tickets for games. Yeah, we can't
make it Madison Square Garden East, Okay, And I understand that,
(23:41):
But I want to say, dude, you understand that there's
two games that you have to play before you worry
about that one. He only had to play one, but Okay,
that that is true. But the team has to play too.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Yeah, team, team, the man stands alone in the plate.
Uh so, not getting that, I felt a little bit
better about the series. If you're worried about game three
before you play game one in game two, okay.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Well, we all have to plan for greatness, right, you
plan for your vacations. You're timed off Sandwich.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
The Sixers even went to the lengths of giving away
tickets to local groups for Game three because they couldn't
sell them all out, so they gave tickets away so
it would be Sixer fans coming to the game. And
it still didn't matter because it was at worst fifty
to fifty with Knicks fans and Sixers fans. By the
end of the game, it was seventy percent Knicks fans.
(24:33):
It was a party. Now Mike Brown has taking all
the starters out with two minutes left to go, where
Tom Thibodeau is saying, oh my god, I'd left all
those guys in until thirty seconds left.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Uh, And everybody's partying.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
In the crowd, and Shalla May is yelling, and Tracy
Morgan is yelling, and the Knicks fans are treating it
like it's a huge party and it's Chris Morgan. Was
Ashley barfing, No he wasn't. I watched he was. He
was very clean.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
He threw up. Everywhere is Therey video?
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Is every video that like this is this is what
it was like. And Sunday is gonna be worse. Mother's Day.
Down three zip, It's gonna be eighty percent Knicks fans
at this point the Sixers. Seriously, guys, disband. If you
can't sell out a playoff game to the majority, not
all of your fans, but to the majority of your fans,
(25:20):
come on, man, it's beyond just embarrassing. This is not
a small market team in sports where hey, it's the
first playoff series. We're down to zip. We're probably not
gonna win. We're having trouble selling out, so other teams
are coming into celtickets, right, it'd be one. This is Philadelphia, man,
this is one of the most heritage teams in the
history of the league. Go back to doctor j Into Iverson, right,
(25:43):
I mean this is the seventy six Ers.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
I mean again, royalty of the NBA.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
This is and you talk about the top franchises in
the league, they're one of the top five heritage franchises
of all time. Right, Knicks, Lakers, Celtics, seventy six ers. Right,
there's four your top teams right there. I don't understand
how you're Philadelphia. You're woven into the fabric of the NBA,
and your best player has to say, we have to
(26:11):
buy tickets. You're not excited. You beat the Celtics in
the playoffs for the first bleep in time. They beat
you the last three times. You send them home. Excitement
should be through the roof. Yeah, you lose the first
two games to the next. Okay, but that's right now,
you're coming home two games to win, get back in
the series. You're all saying to yourself. And I've seen
the Knicks joke this away before I saw it. It's
all right, we're gonna come in and win. This is
(26:32):
gonna be awesome. And instead, no, you can't even give
the tickets away and fill the arena. It's Knicks fans saying,
now you're just making me buy them from somebody else
instead of buying them straight from you. You don't make
the money, you give them to somebody else. I just
gotta wait in extra twelve hours to get the tickets.
So now I'm getting the tickets and now I'm going
to the game like that. That's it's beyond embarrassing. I mean, really,
(26:53):
you should disband if you can't sell tickets to a playoff.
You're the Philadelphia seventy six ers and you can't get
fans coming. You're worried about the fans coming up and
turning your arena into Madison Square Garden East to West Revere. Hew,
Philadelphia is compared to New York. Everywhere you're standing and
we're looking at things. I'm bad with directions, but like
you're worried about that that you're Philadelphia. Right, You're not
(27:13):
Tampa Bay, You're not here, You're Philadelphia.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
That's so beyond the back one point six million or thereabouts.
In Philadelphia, you start to expand the greater area. It's
kind of like good looking Los Angeles. Right, we only
have a couple of million in the city proper. But
if you say the Los Angeles area, we balloon out
to eighteen to twenty Philly. Same thing, right, You're up
and down the highways to get there. The fact that
they waited till today to say, hey, we gave away
(27:37):
a bunch of tickets, bad luck. Yeah, I mean it's
great for those communities. I got them right at the hospitals,
to teachers, folks that they got to go see a game,
or they got to sell it and make a car
payment or pay some of their rent for next month.
To the guys from me are yeah, you got some
of those free tickets. Yeah, it did.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Now you could go to the game and you could
watch your team lose because we're gonna wait even without
OG right, Or I could give you, say, double the
tickets value and you could have a fun day doing whatever,
watch them lose on TV, and I get to go
watch my team win. Which is it going to be?
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Oh, I know what I'd pick? Sure, Hey, okay, here
you go.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
That's just it, mister New Yorker. Here you go, mister Shallomy,
whatever you want.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Like, you may be a huge Sixers fan, but you
see the demand for the tickets and you just kind
of shrug and go, I'll take the cash. Right, It's
like yil, I'll take the physical challenge. Do I want
the cash?
Speaker 1 (28:27):
No?
Speaker 3 (28:28):
No, but do I want to go?
Speaker 1 (28:29):
But it becomes a pragmatism thing, right, it depends pick
your team whatever, you subscribe to partial season ticket package full.
If you're in a division, like say you're in the
NFC North, the Packers are coming to your your town,
or you're playing them as one of the many. You know,
they're seventeen games that you're looking at. It going, all right,
(28:51):
I can sell those because they travel really well, and
I can pay for half my season. It's it's awful
tempting to say, wow, I get to go to these
other games for nothing.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
