Speaker 2 (00:23):
If you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Hello, Welcome inside Final Hour tonight the Jason Smith Show
with my bes friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
And uh, just something that's a little weird and I
we need to call it out real fast before we
get to this story that I think is really scaring
me that Frostburg says he has sure right now, Draft
Day is on True TV.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
It is, I have it on.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
It's the only time, I think, outside of March, I've
ever had True TV on my television. How about that,
It's it's the beginning of May and I have True
TV on. Well, I mean, first time for everything that's good.
Expand your horizons.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Maybe you'll run into some other maybe you'll find that
they stole some of the ideas for shows based on
True TV or not TV.

Speaker 5 (01:17):
Jason, how is this possible if you don't miss an
episode of the Impractical Jokers.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
I mean that you you go to you go to
True TV's channel and it's in Practice eleven o'clock in
Practical Jokers, midnight of Practical Jokers, one am in Practical Jokers,
two am, you know, ten am and Practical Jokers, eleven
am and Practical Jokers, twelve pm, Draft Day, three pm
in Practical Jokers, four pm.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
And pro like, I don't understand the programming of this channel.
What is the purpose? I don't understand.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
In Practical Jokers, the occasional movie that they bought the
rights to, infomercials.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
And the tournament and then the tournament. Yeah, let's make
sure we buy Draft Day.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
You're making money off of Draft Day, Okay, I I
guess we're watching.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
I ah, you're right, you're I'm sure many people are
as well. Right.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
It's like when you run the same show in large
blocks in your overnight or or you know, repeat highlight
shows all night. You know there's a market board somewhere.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
It just but it just doesn't flow.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
It's like it's like when you listen to the nineties
channel on on on a serious XM, and it's like, yeah,
there's no format it just if it was in the nineties,
we're playing it. You know, you're gonna hear you know,
No Diggity, and then you're gonna hear Tiffany, and then
you're gonna hear Nirvana, and then you're gonna hear the
Backstreet Boys.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
And that's all good do.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
It doesn't matter no rhyme or reasons. If it was
in the nineties, we're putting it on the air, that's
all we're gonna get.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
You said that like it's wrong. Sometimes you need a
little bit of chaos mixing there in it.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
No I get.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I I dig the unpredictability of it. It's just okay,
what am I gonna get next?

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Who knows?

Speaker 1 (02:57):
I I you know, I I could wind up getting
Tom Petty, I could get Rex in effect.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
I don't know. But but who knows. Whatever it is,
it's gonna be.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
It's kind of exciting. I mean, there are very few
surprises in life the scale.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Now, speaking of surprises, Frostburg apparently has a surprise for me.
And he said, Jason, we're gonna do this story next
to what do you Got? And he said, you're gonna
find out Knicks players aren't as cool as you think
they are. So now I'm scared. I'm scared about this
story should be. I mean, okay, first of all, this
is not Rick Flair saying the Knicks need to trade
Jalen Brunson.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Okay, all right, very good?

Speaker 4 (03:34):
All right, Hey, don't you dare good? Dare you?

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Rick Flair made a lot of real money in that career,
justin I'm pretty sure all is. It's not like he
made it all in crypto for money.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
You know, if it spends, it spends. But Rick Flair
sports entertainment.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Remember, all right, all right, what do you got? What? What?
What is this story about the Nick players not as
cool as you?

Speaker 5 (04:01):
Well, it's gonna surprise you and nobody else.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Okay, okay, I'll bite. What is it?

Speaker 5 (04:09):
You saw the game last night?

Speaker 3 (04:14):
What? Wait? Okay? Okay? Shut out out?

Speaker 5 (04:16):
They were shut out because apparently some of their players
went from courtside glory to curb side rejection after their
big win.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Re rejected.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Okay, okay, like when they couldn't get in the cab
they got.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
To the party, they just couldn't get in the party.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
There was a party that Knicks players couldn't get into.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
Not only was it a party, it was the hottest
Met gala party last night in New York City, hosted
by Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter, and Knicks players were told
to beat it. You're not on the list.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Wait wait, wait, wait, you're not on the list.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
You're out of the.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Will listen, listen.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Okay, the Mets have had a terrible year. I get
that the Mets gala isn't gonna let let Knicks players in.
I understand it's.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
The that's the metscal has nothing to do with the Mets.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Wow, I really and I'm you know now that you've
said it, now I'm clicking on it.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
And the headlines don't look good. You can't get you
know who we are.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
The bouncers did not budge good.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
How do you not let the Knicks into your party?

Speaker 4 (05:26):
They're not they're not Hollywood A listers. They're cool.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Are the knickses coolest Sabrina Carpenter? No, okay, no, are
the Knicks cooler than Madonna? This is not nineteen ninety one,
but Donna's not. No, she's not. Come on, man, she's
not ageless. Come on, no, come on, they beat Philadelphia
by fifty points. They can't get into a met gala party.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
No, come on, not that party that were more than
happy to let those.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
Not that popular.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Yeah wait but wait, but who were the What players
were trying to like was like, was huck Porty trying
to get in?

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Or were like Brunton and Cat trying to get it?
Like there's a difference.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
The only guy I think that would have gotten past
anybody was o g because he had the stamp of
approval from Ann Hathaway.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yeah Hathaway and said no, no, he's on my list. He's
on it. Let let him in. Let him in. He's
on my list. He's on my him.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
See now you're implying something else my list.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
No, you're the one that implied that your mind is
in the gutter. I'm saying on my guest list. No,
let him in on my guest list.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
I have a Madonna's statement.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
What's Madonna? What's Madonna's statement?

Speaker 5 (06:38):
Don't cry for me?

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Argentina oh S would let Leonel Messi in either?

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Wow, I can't believe that.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
How do you not let the Knicks into the very
easy I mean, I'm reading here it says the party
was on the fifth floor, lockdown, tight with a strict
guest list, cat to two hundred people.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
You know, even complying. But no, no, don't say that, Harmon,
don't say stuff you don't know anything about. The space
can hold nearly double that. I'm reading it right now
on TMZ. But the space can hold double that.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
They decided two hundred plus cad caterers plus other performers play.
I mean, look, it's a guest list. You can't expand
it forever. Did you want some random folks showing up?
Like say, you set out, Hey, here's everybody coming to
the wedding, and then all of a sudden, no, no,
we brought uncle, Uncle Ernie and and and and Zelda
uh and all their kids.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
You can kick a lot of people out to let
the nix in. Okay, you could kick Boz Lhrmann out
to let the Knis in.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
Do you know now you're just talking.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
You can do that. You can kick Orlando bloom out.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
That's good one for us. But you can kick Orlando
bloom out and and and and make room for the Knicks.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
There's people you could there's bottom feeders, at the end
of that going hey can't.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
You're not You're throwing out William Turner.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
You've been here for a little long for you've been
here for a while, but we need to let you go.
We need to let we need to let some mix players.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
It okay, you let you can, let you can let
William turn around, you can let Michael turn around and
dank Falcons running back.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
Guys go.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
You know what, they could have knocked on any door
in any of the five boroughs and they they would
have been allowed in, except that party. They chose to
go to the one place that told him to beat it.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
That's weak, man, How do you I mean really, this
is this is this is New York City, man, that
was in then. The Knicks are the best thing that
New York has.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
You could have gone to the Time to Times Square,
hung out with the Furries and the Naked Cowboy and.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
Been Kings of the World and Dirty Cookie Monster.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Yeah, hey, listen, I was. I was just in Time
Square every night we went back to New York.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
It was awesome. But like you know, I'm a dude.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
There was no big math. It was it was pizza
every five feet in New York Man. Yes, I like
another slice, but you just bought a slice down down
the street. Yeah, that was eight steps ago. I need
a slice of pizza. Now that's what abbit Okay, great.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
You actually thought the the full pizza or did you
just do the top thing?

Speaker 3 (09:01):
No?

Speaker 1 (09:01):
No, no, we went Okay, so we went to Joe's Pizza,
which was from Spider Man right, because that place is huge.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Apolog I got you three minutes play time.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
So we go to Joe's Pizza and we get in
line and it's really short, and I said, okay, we're
lying here. And then someone comes out and says, okay,
this is like eight o'clock at night. We're like, all right,
there's like, you know, fifteen people in line. They go, yeah,
just so you know, if you want to hold pizza,
this is the line. If you want to slice, it's
next door. So the Joe's Pizza next door because now
they've broken it up, and I'm like, oh my goodness,

(09:33):
that line is down the end of the block. That's
just for slices. So I said, man, as well, buy
a whole pie. Let's stay in this line.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
But make friends buy a whole pie and if they
want to, you know, duke you a dollar too? Great?

Speaker 1 (09:47):
If not, no blank that, I'll wait in a shorter
line and get pizza faster. Yeah, I'll get a whole pie.
What do I care exactly? But that's what I named.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
Do you make friends here? Have a slice? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Yeah, No, I'm not sharing my peace with anybody there.
If I'm waiting in line, I'm eating I mean the
whole thing. There was no problem at all.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
If the pizza shops shut you out like the Knicks.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
No, no way you think pizza shop's gonna shut me out?
What I could do for what I can do for
a pizza shop, the the pizza influencer.

Speaker 5 (10:15):
I can pizza shops can turn on you?

Speaker 3 (10:19):
This is it.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
I I need a statement from Madonna. I need a
press conference, and not like you know, in a British accent.
I need a real Madonna press conference. Why uh they
were not from Madonna, you know? And have Sabrina Carpenter
there too. They could they they could do an espresso
duet if they want to popehin.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
I need something. Why the Knicks got shut out of there?

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Who do you think visits Detroit in the greater area more?
You or Madonna?

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Oh me?

Speaker 1 (10:45):
What's the last time Madonna's in Detroit? Probably for a
concert in nineteen ninety five, probably the last time. Come on, man,
I'm much more. I'm much more than I'm much more
the prodigal son of Detroit.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
But let's end that on.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Let's I I I really want to know why you
couldn't let the Knicks in, and I want to know
what players couldn't get in. There is a difference. But like,
if it was Brunton and Cat and who know, be wow,
that's ridiculous. If it was you know, huck Portie and Colic,
and I'm like, okay, I can't understand.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
I gotta get that. Yeah, did these guys even play tonight? Well,
let's see. Hang on, Colic got about.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
Eights because they didn't break a sweat.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Who's here, I got Landry Shammitt, next, next, somebody else,
somebody else, someone else? That like that, I get when
you say the Knicks got shut out.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
I need names. I need names on this Frostburg, do
you know? Yeah, that's only I need names.

Speaker 5 (11:36):
Like I said, this is only going to be you.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
I need to know it's expect are you kidding? Like
the Knicks Nick's note, Just like I don't know that.
Maybe you need to ban Sabrina Carpenter and Madonna from
Madison Square Garden. Now, yeah, yeah, I know you're not
on the list. You can't get in and said you're
not gonna sit next to Spike Lee and Ben Stiller. No,
you don't get to do. You don't get to do
you sit next to You sit next to Ann Hathaway
at the met Galley. You don't sit next to her

(12:00):
at the next game. You sit there, you know, No,
you don't know. Yeah, of course you would.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
I mean she's Jersey.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
No, you know, nowda, I mean there's plenty of stuff
you can talk about.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
No, you banned Madonna from MSG. That's what has to happen. Now,
that's that's the right move. You you you want to
fire that shot across the bow, We're gonna do the
same thing.

Speaker 5 (12:20):
I'm sure the police are working in shifts and.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
You can't even get into MSG. You're banned from the
entire arena. You can't go see a Knixt game. You
can't go see James Dolan's band when they play. You
can't go see anybody at msgo.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
You can't go school Charles, you can't go see the
Ice Follies when it's there in December. What did you
say You can't go see twelve consecutive Dead shows like
Stue Gotts did right by Stuve Gott's impressions, pretty good.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah, I mean you're not gonna get to go to
one Dead show. Forget about you. Madonna doesn't even get
to go to one of them.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
Companies.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
No, you don't get to go to any of those.
That's what you You have to just died.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Do we have no reference for anything?

Speaker 3 (13:04):
It's the whole? No, no, no, it's the whole.

Speaker 5 (13:07):
John Sterling just got hitting the head again.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
No stop, don't you play it? T shirt? Do not
play it. Didn't hurt it all night? No, do not
play it. Do not play it. No, it's good. You
don't know it's good enough? Tribute?

Speaker 5 (13:21):
How do you spell John Sterling? Hold on, No, it's not.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
That's not.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Hey.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
I can team No, no, no, no, no, age done.

Speaker 6 (13:37):
Three two swung pop foul back here?

Speaker 4 (13:40):
How they really hit me?

Speaker 2 (13:45):
I didn't know it was coming back that far?

Speaker 3 (13:49):
No, what do you guys? What's wrong with you? What
is wrong with you? God?

Speaker 4 (13:53):
We are celebrating our rich tapestry of the sporting universe.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Guys.

Speaker 5 (13:57):
You guys are all Jason just you know, everyone is laughing.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
You guys are all going to hell. We're not right there.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
Yeah is happy wherever he is. No, we're thinking about
him and paying tribute Jim.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Right now, I'm not allowing you guys, and I'm not
allowing you guys to have pizza or wings or where.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
If I cannot allow you guys in a place tomorrow,
I'm knocking you. You can go hang out with Madonna.
Go you go out Madonna and watch Nicks on television.

Speaker 5 (14:23):
We'll just go to the cooler party unlike the Knicks.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
Yeah, yeah, but yeah, go to the court. You go
to the cooler part that's got Orlando Bloom.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
They're asking about piratesby in seven coming back, Jason.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
You try to do that to this us.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
This is how it's gonna see feel for you.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Okay, Okay, you're done, man, you are done. Coming up?
Coming up next?

Speaker 1 (14:43):
If we're still on the yeah, coming up next, I
could just say something else, but something we're coming up next.
We got big stuff out of the NBA playoffs and
a big baseball bold prediction I made preseason that wow,
is that coming true?

Speaker 3 (14:58):
So far? That's next, Jason Mike Fox Sports Radio. He
hit me.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
I didn't know what was coming back that far.

Speaker 6 (15:07):
So once again it'll be a three to two and
Holmes ready to deal groundball. At the third, Donaldson squares
throws the first in time ball game over.

Speaker 2 (15:19):

Speaker 1 (16:39):
Fox Sports Radio, the Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Hard Now, we got big stuff coming out
of the NBA in a couple of minutes. But uh,
you know, look, we we you know, the last couple
of days has been a real big uh homage to
the life and career of John Sterling. You know, you
see Michael k paying homage to him the call last night,

(17:01):
the Mets the same way their final call of the
Rockies game.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
Uh. But just you know, to think about this on
the field for a second, because yes, it's been that
kind of year for the Yankees, and you know, everybody's
looking at you know, John Stonley, what he meant to
the team and everything else. Is the Yankees are in
first place in the AL East.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
And I think people are looking at it and going, yeah, okay,
well the Yankees are pretty good.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
I expect them to be there, expecting to be in
first place in the AL East. Yes, the Red Sox
are horrible, and you know, the Orioles are bad, like
half the division.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Is really bad. The Blue Jays stink. The Yankees are
twenty five and eleven, and they have done all of
this without Garrett Cole and Carlos Rodon, who were still
on minor league rehab assignments. Now neither of them pitched well,
but it doesn't matter, you know, it's it's minor league
rehabits about getting ready. Rodn is expected to join the
Yankees this weekend. Garrett Cole's a little bit further away,

(17:54):
coming back from being out for a whole year.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
But the Yankees are this good.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
They're basically playing seven hundred baseball without the two of them,
without their number one stopper in Garrett Colet, and they're
still this good. I mean, I know, we spent a
lot of time talking about the Dodgers and how good
they are this year, and yeah, they've had a you know,
a rough go the last week or so, but man,
this Yankee team without those guys is you know, sitting

(18:19):
right now with the second best record in baseball, and
and they're hitting.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
Ben Rice has been terrific. Obviously, Judge is hitting, But
I mean, to think about where they are without these
two guys, Like that's insane.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
It's gonna already be. The Yankees are getting two great
deadline guys that are guys that they're expecting to get back.
Like I think we're sleeping on just how good the
Yankees have been so far this year.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Well, I mean it works in parallel with the Dodgers.
You mentioned them, right, No, Mookie Betts, Blake Snell hasn't
pitched yet. You're still looking at Keik a Hernandez coming
back like you still got a lot of guys that
haven't shown up there. Same thing here. I mean rodnd
was an eighteen game winner a year ago. You're already
missing the you know, as you would expect the games

(19:01):
from gian Carlos Stanton. So there you go. He's already
been out of the lineup. Goldschmith's only played fourteen games.
So you're doing this with Rice and Judge doing most
of the damage to this point, and your division. There's
nothing coming to save any of those teams anytime soon.
So yeah, we're looking like we could we can get

(19:23):
back to that same same run of a couple of
years ago.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
So we can all watch Aaron Judge drop another fly.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
It might happen.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
You never can tell.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
I mean I can't say no, I can't say it's
not gonna happen. I mean, I mean really, I mean,
that's the career the guys had. What everybody known for
dropping the fly ball in the World Series.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
That's Aaron Judge.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Now the other baseball story for a couple of minutes
here is. We talked about this before the season. I
gave you the big Bull prediction sho heo Tani twenty
twenty six National League Cy Young Award winner. Tonight Dodger
lost two one to the Astros. But O'tani is on

(20:04):
a Jacob de gram like path to win the Cy Young.
He's given up five runs and six starts as era
is point nine, right, but he's won two games. I mean,
this is this is exactly what's happened to Jacob deGrom
with the Mets for all those years. You look at
these games, Dodgers lose won nothing, two to one. He's
given up one run, no earn runs. His ERA is

(20:27):
point nine to zero. And for everybody that that talked
about the the in the in the exhibition season, all
the Dodgers, everybody around the team said the same thing.
He is incredibly focused on pitching this year, right, like
the last couple of years have been MVP years, unlike
we have seen in the history of baseball, right first
fifty to fifty guy, unreal what he's done. So yeah,

(20:48):
I get we're a little bit now. Sometimes he's not
gonna hit. He's had four games in a row where
he hasn't gotten a hit, which is like, oh my goodness,
what's wrong with shoey o'tani? But I think that's part
of what can happen when you are this focused on
the pitching part of it, And I think it's just
a little bit of otani to Okay, I gotta kind
of manage it a little bit. Get into the season,
into the end of May, June, the summer months.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
Get here.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Trust me, he's gonna be fine. But pitching wise, like
his era is point nine to Ozer, Like, you tell
me that's not gonna.

Speaker 5 (21:17):
That's also how many runs score a game.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
I mean, yeah, that is yeah. I mean, if you
could pitch against the Mets every day, forget it.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
I mean, wow, that is his run support when he
pitches to.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
I mean, Robleski's having a great year rights five and
oh is e ra is like you know, he's at
one point seven or something like that, Like, but Otani
and show hey Otani and ear he's got the era
under one. I mean like he let up a run
tonight and it went up, you know what I mean,
Like that went up from point six is what he
was coming in tonight.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Now it's point nine. Like that.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
That's the level he's been pitching at since the beginning
of the year. So yeah, show Heyotani twenty twenty six,
say young winner.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Yeah, guy. We talked about there were some articles written
going wishing, wanning, hoping, and kind of speaking about that
point of emphasis in the off season. I'm going going
back in the betting odds long before spring training, you
were looking at thirty to one, and then that started
to come into focus, whereas right now he's at plus
five fifty or so. And since cy young candidates all

(22:13):
across the board seemed to be having their issues, who knows,
might just open a clear path. It would be nice
to win a game every once in a while, but
if we can keep doing that theory testing, We've got
broken through that before with de Gram and a couple
of others go back to Felix Hernandez winning an award
at basically a five hundred record as well getting no support.

(22:34):
I'd like to think the Dodgers eventually score some runs
for him, but what are they ten and fourteen the
last two years when he's pitched. So it's kind of
interesting to watch in that regard. But yeah, I mean,
it's really just the when the offense isn't clicking and
he's your leadoff guy, and forget about the Craig Council
nonsense about you know, roster spots and whatever else. It's

(22:56):
just more the idea and mentioned Mookie bet and everything
else that you haven't had your full complement of players,
but you want to see some semblance of consistency at
the plate from him, and you really haven't this season
to the same level. Uh So, you know, people get nervous.

(23:17):
It is the first week of May. But you gotta
find a topic, you gotta find a story. And and
when your guy that's normally running towards an MVP award
while it is now doing it because he's a pitcher
instead of a hitter, that's kind of just an interesting
process for folks to kind of roll through but yeah,
he's been nothing short of amazing on the mound.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
I mean, just think about that, Like, yeah, Otan, just
think about if Ota this three year run for Otani
back to back MVPs, right, a fifty to fifty year
and then he follows that he wins the cy Young I'm.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
Gonna go this this year.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
Think about that, Yeah, what do you want to what
do you want to do next year?

Speaker 1 (23:53):
I don't know, like not that not that Otani is
bored because that that's that's that's the wrong thing to say.
But like I think, like I equate it to like
when Ken Griffy came up in with the with the
Maritors and he was a great all around player, and
I think he just decided one offseason said, you know,
I think I can hit fifty home runs a year.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
I think I can do that, And what do you
start doing? Hit fifty home runs a year?

Speaker 1 (24:16):
Like like he's that talented where I think I can
do this. I'm gonna I'm gonna focus on that. Like
that's how talented O'tani is. Where like look at when hey,
I think I could steal fifty bases this year?

Speaker 3 (24:25):
Has he come close? Since? No, he hasn't right. Is
he gonna come close again? Probably not? Well, I did it,
I went fifty to fifty. What do I want to
do now? Well?

Speaker 1 (24:31):
Now now I want to win the say Young, Okay,
now I'm gonna go win the cy Young And then
next year it's something different than something else and something
like But you think about a run like that, like
every year he does something that makes us say, yeah,
without a doubt, he's the greatest player any of us
have ever seen, maybe the greatest player to ever play
the game. But you think a three year run of
MVP MVP cy Young.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
What do you mean? Maybe? I mean, come on, man,
Jason Mike Trout held him back for six years and
he's still the greatest player.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
I just think we went to when we went to
the game Saturday, and uh mets in the and the
and the Angels and Trout uh was announced. Everybody gives
him a big hand and and and Noel McLain struck
him out both times. And my wife goes to me,
goes meet, Wow, is is Trout good this year? I said, no,
actually he is, and he's healthy. Uh, just you know
McLain is really good and and and you know Trout.

(25:19):
She was she was so so the Angels had Trout
no Tani at the same time. Yep, I said, yeah,
she said for how long? I said a few years?

Speaker 5 (25:28):
Yeah, And Trout held him for six years and they.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
And she goes and they couldn't win.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
They go, no, no, I go, let's not have this
conversation around so many Angels fans.

Speaker 5 (25:37):
He immediately goes away from Trout. He's on it. He's
en route for a three pat.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
World series, World series, MVP V.

Speaker 4 (25:47):
I'm just thinking about it.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Though.

Speaker 4 (25:49):
From the larger scale, let's bring in the pop culture reference,
because he's a man who has great acumen and dominance.
Remember when Pete Becker has played by John Fabs brother
nicely done, wanted to be the ultimate fighting champion, right.
He talked about all the iterations of his operating system
before he finally got it right. And then this guy

(26:10):
went on to create the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
And in Star Wars.

Speaker 5 (26:16):
But is even greater. He had to overcome my Trout.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
That is true.

Speaker 5 (26:21):
Yeah, no, no, no, Rendo Trout, He's the worst.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Was it wasn't wasn't he like a software guy.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
He took the sixty fifth iteration or whatever it was
of the operating system before I finally got right. He goes,
same thing here. I'm gonna get it right. Eventually. I'm
going to be the ultimate fighting champion. I've conquered the
mental world, I've conquered this. Now I'm going to conquer
the physical world.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
Jason, I absolutely love your take on show. Hey, but
I only have one little problem.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
Okay, what's the problem?

Speaker 5 (26:52):
You please never mention him in the same sentence with
the Grom ever again.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
Dude, what the problem? Was the most dominantcher in baseball
for a good.

Speaker 5 (27:01):
Time, and I couldn't stay healthy for like a week.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
That's that's that's okay, it doesn't.

Speaker 5 (27:05):
What are you doing here?

Speaker 4 (27:06):
What I said was, you know, I don't like subterview.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
You sound like Frankenstanza.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
I know what you're up to, saboteur.

Bleep! with Ana Navarro

Fear thrives in silence and confusion. Ana Navarro rejects both. Her voice is an antidote to today’s chaos. Her new podcast, Bleep! with Ana Navarro, takes on today’s most pressing issues with the voices most connected to it: decision-makers, political leaders, cultural shapers, and people on the frontlines of the story. The conversations acknowledge the emotions we all feel—despair, sadness, fear— but emerge with knowledge, perspective, and hope. The belief is simple: fearless dialogue can transform fear into courage, and courage into change. When fear dominates the headlines, this show digs deeper. Because information, debate, and conversation don’t just ease fear, they give us power to shape the future.
