good luck charm for the Lions, so all Lions fans

Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
We got Patrick in for you though. What is there
like the lamb? Can I call you that or something?
Speaker 2 (01:35):
What the lamb? Yeah? Rob G's the goat. You're filling in.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Foramb All right, we got Patrick the lamb right now?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Robb, what's up, brother? What's up?
Speaker 4 (01:46):
Man?
Speaker 3 (01:46):
I'm doing good? And shout out to Patrick. We're stepping
up like a big dog because he was also at
disney Land last night. Uh huh, and he did two
pros the day before, so he's been up for my
thirty six straight hours. Not stop?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Patrick, Does your age start with the two?
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Still? Nope?
Speaker 2 (01:59):
Fine? All right, now give you a little more credit.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
I just I just passed that threshold last year because.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
This year, Yeah, anybody in their twenties.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
I have no sympathy or anything like man up or
one man up, as I tell my daughters, one man up,
because in the twenties, that's what you're supposed to be doing,
doing the ground.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
All right.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
So I'll give you a little bit. By the way,
I saw a couple of people here, uh from from
you know?
Speaker 4 (02:17):
Here?
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Did I say? Or just the larger high heart? Now
necessarily just here. So I saw a couple people there,
I thought I would run into you. We got there
a little bit later than you. Elijah, did you go?
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Thumbs up?
Speaker 2 (02:27):
If you went to Disneyland? Elijah, did you go?
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Was it? How was he ignoring me? He's looking at
me on YouTube? How's that even possible? Don't forget you
can't watch us on YouTube with Simon Kassing the show
on YouTube right now. Check it out. All you gotta
do is search O A couple FSR. Welcome in the crew.
I just mentioned some of them. We got Elijah. He is,
of course our social guru. He'll keep us everything looking
fresh on YouTube. Never heard of him. Sam, we have,
(02:50):
of course, as I just mentioned Patrick, and for Rob
g producing them, we have half Patrick. We heard of
Patrick and don't do that saying because his mom is
all is watching and listening.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Then I need my chocolate chip cookie.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
You're not getting no cookies, no more Sama.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
She makes the best.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
They're white chocolate and regular chocolate put together. I told
her she makes the United Nations rookies. She's ending racism
with her cookies alone. We got Iowa. Sam isn't Matty
right now. And for Alex, I'm here so I won't
get fine.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
I have no idea where Alex is. No one knows
he'll be here. He'll be here, he'll be by the way.
Unrelated to Disneyland, I think they had the iHeart Company
party yesterday.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Which yes, I know none of us went to.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
I went. Sam was there, and if you look on
social media, there's photographic evidence of Sam in the parking
lot holding spots for the rest of his show.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
But here's the thing legend that sounds Sam of saying
that is like that isn't a shocked. If this were jeopardy,
I would have said, who is Sam? Like I would
have got it like that? And of course prob g
n all right and all of course on the updates,
we have Steve the Seger he'll keep itself sing and
everything happening, and including.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Some of the news you just mentioned too.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Some of these quarterbacks who've been nicked up and injured
are back, Jaydon Daniels. We heard Lamar is gonna start,
So Steve getting us the update there some of the
stuff that you and I will talk about.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Let's go here.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Lakers by the way, my gosh, it's funny because we
as the media as a whole talk about the Lakers,
you know, all Lebron is or Luca that, or is
Luca gonna lose Witer can't believe Dallas gave Luca to you.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Know, Lake.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
But the Lakers are playing very well in our second
in the West, very well, and like that's not really
a conversation right now, just because we're still in the
middle of football towards you know, there's a lot of
other things happening college. You can beat me to it yet,
so there's a lot of we had a great World
Series and stretch. So it's kind of like the Lakers
being one of the best teams in the NBA. Uh
is one of those stories that everybody's hidden, but they
(04:39):
get a good one on Lebronto, I mean Toronto.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
They go there and.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
They're on their three year and three game road street,
but they end up getting a big time when Ruy
Hachimor hits the buzzer beater. Lebron said, some up, great shot,
great win. By the way, this the sea story might
be coming out of this is one we gotta talk about.
Austin Reeves going crazy again, putting up forty games current
Laker to reach hashtag future Laker status. You never see that.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Let me think about that, right, was Kobe not?
Speaker 3 (05:10):
I mean because he sort of kind of okay, it's
not often that it happens usually that's that's yeah, exactly, Luca, Yeah,
Chris Paul, he at words, somebody somebody.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Well yeah, well so we'll get to him in a minute.
But the big story coming out of that, the number
was one and ninety seven. If you say, what's that number?
That is the consecutive games Lebron has scored in double
digits ten plus points, and just a game or two ago,
Rob was sitting here and we were talking about it.
Lebron hit the three, getting blown out by like thirty,
stays in enough to hit the three to get the
(05:44):
double digit points, and then he throws a new stat pad.
Speaker 6 (05:47):
Fu.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Yeah, this is one of those stat pathfers. And I said, then,
Rob g, no one cares about that stat, right, There
are certain stats that I even said, I don't mind legends.
People have earned it, sticking around, staying in the game,
earned those types of big stats. What I meant was
give you example. I said, if you know Steph Curry,
they look up in a game, they're either blowing a
team out or begetting blown out. But if Steve Kurr
(06:09):
would be like, hey man, the all time record thirteen.
You're sitting on thirteen, one more three, you got the record.
I'm all right, because that is a big record most
threes in the game. Steph Curry is an all time great.
She was like, all right, cool, no one knows double
digit you know, points in a game, Like, no one
actually knows that record, and no one uses that in
an argument, you know, like.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Man, Lebron has the most consecutive ten points.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Like what knowing like you think of Crobe ever come
up in a debate, you think of Michael Jordan's the
greatest scorer of all time, him and Kareem and you
don't know either of their stats and that particular you
know number in that stack that category. So Lebron keeping
track of that. And after the game, Lebron they asked
him about it. Here's what he had to say.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
Now that the street has died for you, what feelings
did you have any what the follers?
Speaker 2 (06:49):
We did?
Speaker 4 (06:52):
We won?
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Stop and Lebron, stop it.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
I just mentioned rob g did I not mention just
a couple of games ago he hit a three to
get the record, Like, don't play with us, Lebron. I
understand the win, and I do believe the win ultimately matter.
I do that, but let's not act like the stat
is insignificant when you just countered that point by hitting
the three in a blow lost, not a win. Nigga
is like, hey, at least wor up we earned me
to stay in a loss. You stayed and hit the three.
(07:22):
This is one of the thing where areas where of
course people get they drive Lebron drives him crazy, the
passive aggressive, None, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Probably know it matters.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Now. I know he can't say that politically correct. He's
got to answer the question. But that's absolutely a stat
that he had because I believe Rob g for those
who will never put a mask, he's better than Jordan.
He's just accumulating feathers in his cap. Sure, all time
lead scorer. I thought Jordan's better scorer. I tell you
always say Kobe's a better score. I am not have
that stat, and I'm a pass first guy. Obviously rings, Okay,
(07:51):
I have more than him, him and him. I might
not have more than him, but that Hey, look at
these finals appearances. Hey, look at this. Lebron's gonna have
assist stats that he's just I believe he said, I'm
gonna accumulate so many things, including even playing with my son.
Sure that these are things that he can add to
his feather caps, so his war chests. At the end
of his career, he can say, yeah, he might have
more of that those six rings, or he might have
five Kobe or whomever you're you know, Kareem has five.
(08:13):
Look at what I have. So I absolutely believe, or
six for Kareem. I absolutely believe those things matter to him.
But I will say it was very Lebron liked that
if he was gonna lose the streak, to lose it
in that way, like making the play that you either love.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
Him for or hate him for.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
Why would you pass to the Kyle Kover in the
corner for three in the NBA Finals. You're Lebron, you
gotta shoot that other half. That's the right play. Kyle Kolver,
one of the greatest shooters ever, is open, open, wide open.
So that is so the Lebron you know, juxtappose ideologies.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
You you know, he either too passive or not aggressive enough,
or he's making the right play.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
But I thought the poetic justice of that is how
he would end that treat that he did care about.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
He did on that he was totally insulting our intelligence.
That's what I don't like about Lebron's time. I mean
Lebron as a whole in general. I think he's a
really good guy. I think he's a great basketball player,
and there's a lot of things about him that I
do appreciate. One thing I'll never understand, aside from the
passive aggressive tweets and the social media when he's upset
with his team, Like, that's a different conversation. Is his
(09:16):
insistence on lying about things that are so easily disproven.
This is now in the top three. Okay. Number one
for me is always going to be, well, you know,
when I was watching the Nice Coaches for eighty one,
I told my friends he was gonna score eighty that night.
No you didn't, No, you did not. And that's a
dumb thing to have to lie about. I don't know
why you are lit. Number two, this is one is
(09:37):
probably my man showed up to multiple post game press
conferences with the Godfather book on the first page right there.
That was my favorite book. You know, I read it
all the time. Well, what's something you took about or
what's your favorite part of the book? And he could
not name a singing. We no, you didn't read it, Like, like,
why why would you go out of your way to
(09:57):
set yourself up for that kind of thing? And now
this one Monday, we just saw you stay in a
blowout game and get up like I think three shots.
He made two of them to make sure he got
to ten points and immediately subbed himself out coach Ronnie.
I want to do the DAP up with him because
it's gonna look cool for the social media when they
say I got the points and then I left. We
(10:18):
just saw you do that, like there's camera, there's video
evidence of this happening. And then for you to say
last night after the game, which was a great win
for them down Luca Don just on the road and
they did not play well at all on Monday, so
for them to bounce back was big, and for you
to say with the straight face, na, I didn't care.
You know, we won when what you could have said,
(10:39):
which was the gods on is true that nobody would
have faulted you for saying this is Yeah, it was
a cool record to have, and I really enjoyed it,
like it's something that's, you know, a feather in my cap.
But in the grand scheme of things, us getting to
win is more important, So you know, it would have
been nice to continue the record, but I'm glad that
if it's gonna end, it's gonna end with us winning
the game, and nobody like, hey, that's an honest answer,
like he admitted, like it was record did mean something
(11:00):
because we just saw him something to you, and it didn't.
Everything's meant to be broken. It's not gonna last forever.
But you got to win. That's the end of the story.
But because you had to go and lie about it,
now we got to talk about it again sixteen hours later.
It's just crazy to me.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Well, a couple of things. One thing you can say
about Lebron.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Some people will say he could be passive aggressive some people,
so I don't like him.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
He's a little floppy flops, so he's.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
The One thing you can't say is he is not
a student of the game and very aware of everything.
So I said that to say he's very aware of numbers,
he's very aware of the legacy things and stats, and
he's hyper aware.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
And even in game. If you watch enough Laker games,
you'll see when he gets subbed out of games, almost
immediately someone will had him a piece of paper.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
He's looking.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
It's the box score. So he knows, these are my stats,
this is what this guy shooting, this is what we're
not doing well, all right, So when I get back
into the game, I know I'm not going to pass
to this guy because he's cold, this guy's hot, or hey,
if I can get to the rim. You know they're
calling fouls exactly.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
No, he's hyper aware, and I mean that in a
complimentary way. Of the reason I'll say that is that's
not meant to be at director director. While yes, he's
fully aware of the stats and we know that he
was come on that. You know, I don't even use
the word cap because I don't like it. I feel like,
what does it even mean? I get it, but they
call him the cap. But if that was a cap example.
But I'll say this, the reason I brought up that
he's fully aware of records and stats and this, and
(12:19):
that I use it as a compliment because sometimes you know,
you'll see this on social teams will be coming in
a lot of young players the social media there the
other teams, Elijah's will be holding up a picture of
somebody with the viewer will see it and they'll say
who's this and the player, oh no, and it they'll be.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Like Gary Payton or something.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
And if you look at hip hop, you know, oh
you're a rapper, but who is this?
Speaker 1 (12:39):
And it's supposed to be somebody run DMC, someone they
should absolutely know. Just as a student of your particular
game and or craft. I've always wanted to give love.
Look to Lebron and that he Kobe. Certain guys they
make sure they pay homage, they make sure they're aware,
they know what's going on.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
So I do like that about them.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
But you know what I was thinking about too, now
that we and you and kind of you know, jazz
in him about this stat the one good thing. On
a serious note, I think from this and this is
applicable to certain things in life for all of us.
I think the burden of it, like he made it
a thing. You've made things in your life. I've made things.
Let's say it's that you've never not made your daughter's lunch,
(13:17):
or you've never you know, I left dress school one
time about that. But you know, we all have our stats.
You know, I've never showed up to work late. I've
never my wife has never had, you know, change your gas.
I meet her at the gas. Whatever it is, you
build these things up, you put it, and then it
becomes you know what it becomes where everyone else gonna do.
It's not a big deal, you know, for you, it
becomes a thing. It's a thing, it's part of your head.
(13:37):
As much as I don't think this scoring title or
the scoring. You know, double digits record was a big deal.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
I don't think you.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
I don't think anybody's gonna really care that. He always like,
we'll talk about today and have fun with.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
It and move on. Don't cares.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
I will say, I think it's alleviated.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
That's that little bit of a thing on his brain
that now he might have started having fun in a
good way. What I mean is rog if he's got
six points but Luca's rolling well tonight, I might go
six points, eighteen rebounds, twenty as sists.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Sure you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
I don't have to keep that in the back of
my head, like, oh man, I gotta get this, I
gotta get scored ten. This is let me look at the scoreboard. Okay,
how much time we got left? Like now I think
he can start having fun with another one. How many
how many games can I go, you know, this rest
season with double digitusists? How many can I go games
with ten at least ten plus rebounds, ten plus exists?
Like I think now freezom of not having to worry
about that, because I think it was very very very
(14:27):
much in the back of his brain. But it was
there because it's so easy for him to score that,
I think he rarely had to look up into wanted
to get a couple shots up. But I think now
it frees him to see, you know, hey, can I
start something else? Can I just have Can I do
something crazy?
Speaker 2 (14:39):
Now? Have zero points? But twenty four twenty sists.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
Now I would agree with you, except that he did
say in the post game that don't expect this to
be a common thing where I'm not scoring ten points someday.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
Maybe that right, he scores ten points on accident because
put back, yeah, fast couple of fast break. But I'm
just saying he's also one of those people who can
I can see him thinking that least, and.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
This is something that's you know, Lebron of course is
like the the biggest example of it. But great players,
especially in the NBA, are so great that they have
to find new unique ways to challenge on thous on
nights to night basis and being a Laker fan. I
don't know if you were here at the time this happened,
but there's always been a narrative, Hey, Kobe doesn't pass
the ball. He never passed the bam, he never passed
(15:19):
the ball. So he decided, yeah, exactly. Rob will never
forget that one. But there was a time where it
becomes such a large ground swall where he's like, you
know what, I'm gonna get double digitists, And he did
it for a week straight. No problem did not affect
the would still win the games, He'd still get it.
Instead of getting thirty, he was getting twenty six. But
if he wanted to, he could absolutely get double digit
(15:40):
desists every game. Lebron is one of those guys where
if he wanted to, to your point, you know what,
maybe instead of going after the ten, I could get
eight points, twelve and twelve pretty regularly if I wanted to.
And if maybe this is going to give him a
new challenge to go after and rejuvenate him, because he
quite honestly has gone to a really slow start, and
if if he can find something else to motivate and
(16:01):
moving forward, this will get him through the dog days
of the NBA season.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Last point, for me, he's gonna be the best version
of Jason Kidd with the Mavericks.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
I would love to see that.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
That's gonna to me.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
I think this opens it up where he's like, man,
I'm gonna let Austin He's been doing it. To his credit,
he's not been forcing things for the most part. He's
almost been overly passive.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
That's what I mean.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
So I think he's gonna be the better version of
a Jason Kid with the Dallas Mavericks. All right, Speaking
of Dallas, they lose to the Lions and also did
something else get lost because of it?
Speaker 3 (16:32):
We'll tell you.
Speaker 1 (16:33):

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Alex, you would be absolutely yeah, you would be you
know why why well.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
Hold on, wait, wait, hold on, stop on the music.
What do you mean I would be? Okay? First off,
that's also calm down.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Second of all, you know, are the basis of our
initial relationship, like seven eight years ago, was built off you.
That started to be our vibe. I think it was
wiz Khalifa yep, and we were just like, all, oh
you like this, so I kind of get your your taste,
so you know, I figured you would like him. Okay, yeah,
look at you now we're back minding.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
That's actually a good point by you.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
I in love with them with Goblin back in the day.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Yeah, well that was that was of course most people
did too, and that's when I thought this kid's good. Anyway,
I said that to say, he's like, people got him
as Artists of the Year and all this at the
end of the year ends. But to your point, robb Gi,
he's one of those people. I acknowledged the talent, love
the creativity, very authentically himself.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
But I can't act like I go to the albums
like all the time.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Ah, and I want to like I don't either, Okay,
all right, I just have a few songs I like.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Yeah that's just weird. Yeah he is weird, but you
like weird. I love weird. It's the odd couple.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Kelvin Washington, Rob G's and for Roppie on a funky
flash Back Friday coming up in about seven eight minutes,
we got Sean King will be down with the King.
We'll talk some NFL headlines with him, looking forward to
that and then some other big time stories to the
NFL ones.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
We got to get to Robb Gi but one of them.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Steve told us earlier Lamar Jackson expected to play nursing
and ankle injury. He's been going through a lot though
really this season.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Yeah, he actually missed two this Gay Dame this week
with the ankle injury. Now, what's interesting about that is
it's now four straight weeks that Lamar has been sidelined
for at least one practice since he's come back from
the hamstring injury. And there are three different injuries, so
one of them in the hamstring. When has been the ankle.
I think one of one was a shoulder situation. It's
(19:20):
either this man is extremely banged up and we got
to rest him as much as possible, as much as
we can, or that hamstring just never fully healed and
we're not gonna let anyone know it's the hamstring, So
we are gonna put a different injury that you can
kind of play off throughout the week. But long story short,
this looks like it's gonna be a rest of the
(19:41):
seasons I think for Lamar.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Yeah, And that's where you have to start as your
general managers, if you're coach John Harball, and if you're
you know, owners of the team, and if you're Lamar Jackson,
you have to start to be honest with yourself. And
that's where it becomes difficult because you're a football player first.
And listen, we can we come on the airways and
we talk smack about guys. Right, We'll say Will Levis,
we're just making for anybody hurt haha, this person.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
Ever.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
You gotta be tough to play football, just starting from
a young age, right, you gotta be tough, you gotta
be all in.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
It's just one of those brutal sports.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
It's and so these guys are tough, they're hard, they
want to play, they want to compete. You know this,
You played sports like it's about the team, it's not
just me. But you just kind of got to also
be honest with where you are. And so I'm not
gonna tell Lamar he needs to sit it down, per se,
because I think the division still being out there depending
on where you look the division, That's what I mean exactly,
(20:32):
And so the division still is out there for them
to win. And of course you win the division, you're
in the postseason. And what do we say about the
postseason you get in? You never know, because I'm sure
there's a couple of times we didn't think the New
York Giants would.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
Get in, or he does just win Super Bowl and have.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
The nerd to mess around and win those things. So
if you're thinking, hey, once we get in, you wipe
the clean slate, wipe our hands, and let's see what
we can do.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
So I get that. But if Lamar can't be, Lamar.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Has not been and that's where I'm going, Rob Gi,
he hasn't been Lamar, like not passing the ball.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
Great, listen to this, Robgi.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
One of the things that has been great, and I
mean this sincerely, is to watch the evolution of Lamar
and multiple reasons allow me to get deep here. For Sama,
it's not just oh he's really good on the field,
it's that him becoming a really good passer from the
QBR standpoint, from percentage, completion percentage, and just becoming making
big throws. Because then people the next and I'm just
(21:30):
keeping in a buck, the next athlete. They don't call
him an athlete quarterback. Oh he could be a receiver,
he's an athlete. Lamar's ascension becoming a pocket passer, dissecting defenses,
knowing when to run, was huge for the larger good
of I would just say it a lot of times
a lot of African American quarterbacks because you know what
they've done for twenty thirty years, forty years was oh, well, yeah,
he's just an athlete. No, I can God forbid, I
(21:52):
can throw and run. It can be fast, it can
make plays. Now that's regular. We see it from anybody
in Black white corp. It doesn't matter. But you know
what I mean, for a period of time, Oh he's
just an athlete. Put him at receiver, put him at
a scatback. He can do this. So Lamar's ascension was crucial,
and he had gotten really good at that completion percent
He's making big throws, all that kind of just going
up being a pockeast. At one point had the highest
passer rating, and if one hundred percent where I was
(22:14):
going to go. Now the last handful of games, look
at this rom Ge fifty eight percent completion percentage, fifty
six fifty six, fifty three that hadn't been him, one
hundred and fifty three yards, one hundred and seventy six yards,
one hundred ninety three, zero touchdown, zero touchdown, zero touchdowns,
one touchdown, interceptions, one interception, two interceptions, fumbling the ball.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
Last three game, zero touchdowns, three picks, two lost fumbles,
eight sex.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
And doesn't look comfortable. Nope, Geno Smith numbers one hundred percent.
You would know it's a raider for not running the
ball effectively, not running at all, running at all, getting
by guys. He just looks off and at a certain
point you go, Dude, I commend the toughness, the desire
to be the leader of the team, but are you
hurting yourself both on the field and maybe even like
(23:02):
the physical that you can't play for a certain you know,
period of time when we need you. So I'm not
gonna say, yeah, we'll see him play this week. But
he's gotta be thinking about that because he doesn't look himself.
And it's not just a game, and it's not just
too it's been this whole duration since he's come back.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Yeah, I could not agree with you more. And and
in full disclosure, I think they're gonna win this week,
and it's less to do about him and Baltimore and
more to do with the Steelers, and I just think
that they got to agree with They're just a dumpster
fire right now.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
But I told you before, I told Ro the camera
will mean I told you Rob. That's Rob g Elijah'm
over here today, Eliza road camera, Elijha. It's the first
time I ever had to fire you, Eliza.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
Right.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
But but I told you before the show that if
somehow Pittsburgh gets the upset here and they beat Baltimore,
and if somehow Cincinnati gets the upset and they beat
Buffalo in Buffalo, and both spreads I think are like
six points, so nobody they're not expecting either game to
be close, to be honest, with you. If both of
those things happened, I told you I'm teaking Cincinnati to
(24:01):
win that division. I think they're gonna win out and
close and out of nowhere take the AFC North because
Lamar Jackson is not Lamar Jackson right now, and their
entire fortune and the success of their team hinges on
him not just being okay, not with him being bad
quite honestly, like he's been the last three and a
half weeks. Yeah, he has to be great for them
(24:25):
to win and win at a high level. And if
he can't even be an average NFL quarterback, this team
is just not very good.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Well, I'm gonna add to why the Browns are The
Bengals have a better chance too. Is their schedule, Yes,
looking forward, so they'll both play each other next week,
so right, they'll be able to battle that out and
see who can get that one. So both teams can say,
hey, hey Rogie, your tripping or hey hey Kevin, you're tripping,
and we got a chance we can fight it out
against each other. But then if you look at the
Ravens rest of the schedule is the Steelers big one
(24:55):
in the division. Then they play the Bengals big one
in the division, but then they got to play the Patriot,
then they got to play the Packers, and then they
also close it out, which could potentially be a huge
but probably not because we don't expect the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
January fourth, they'll play the Steelers.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
The Bengals have just a slightly better one, and they
also have a surging Joe Burrow. They'll be playing again
after the Ravens. On the fourteenth, they'll go to Miami,
who just there you go, right Then they'll play the
Ravens again, but then they'll have the Patriots and then
they'll end it with the Steelers. So I just feel
like they have a slightly easier schedule and they can
control a little bit more with Joe Burrow coming back
(25:29):
a little bit healthier. But I'm not gonna count out
Lamar yet. He's earned that. He's still good.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
He's just not himself.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
He's not himself, and if he's not passing the ball
well and he's not running either effectively or not running
at all at times, that's got to be hurting the
team a little bit, all right. Seaun King on the
other side, will be down with the King right now.
Steve the Seger can you said on with Triny Hay
Steve Hey.
Speaker 7 (25:53):
There are a lot of quarterback news from the NFL today.
We'll start with the Monday night match if Philadelphia is
at the LA Chargers. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, with his
broken left hand, was able to practice on a limited basis. Again,
the team is optimistic he can play Monday, but he
has yet to take snaps from under center, something he
could not do last Sunday either. Chargers first round running
(26:14):
back Omari and Hampton returned to full practice. He broke
an ankle in Week five. Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is
out for the year with a foot injury. He's been
on injury reserve for a month. Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy
will start after clearing concussion protocol. Washington QB Jaden Daniels
will return to start Sunday at Minnesota, and Yes quarterback
Lamar Jackson to the Ravens will play Sunday against the Steelers.
(26:36):
He returned to full practice today. Saints running back Alvin
Kamara is out at Tampa Bay with knee and ankle injuries.
Bengals wide receiver T Higgins returns Sunday at Buffalo he
cleared concussion protocol. Brian Branch, Lion safety, is out for
the year after at torn achilles last night. Penn State's
new head football coach will reportedly be Matt Campbell from
Iowa States on an eight year deal. He's been at
(26:59):
Iowa State the past time ten years, three time Big
Twelve Coach of the Year. Alabama running back jam Miller
is questionable for Saturday's SEC title game. Leg injury the problem,
and backup running back Kevin Riley is out. Former SEC
commissioner Roy Kramer died at the age of ninety six.
A reminder this Saturday night, number one Ohio State against
number two Indiana for the Big Ten title in Indianapolis
(27:21):
on Fox TV. Each team is twelve to oher. There
are four conference championship games tonight. Right now in the
American Conference, number twenty two Lane is down sevenhing to
twenty fourth rank North Texas five minutes to go first quarter.
The winners should make the playoff. Troy is at number
twenty five James Madison for the Sunbelt title. Dukes of
James Madison, leading seventeen thirteen now against Troy, which has
(27:45):
just scored extra point, is pending on Fox TV. Boise
State has just gotten into the end zone extra point
Omega seven nothing at home against ten and two UNLV
for the Mountain West Crown. And in Conference USA halftime,
Kennesaw State leads se and nothing at Jacksonville State. Among
the twelve NBA games, tonight at Boston, early third quarter, Lakers, well,
(28:07):
they're down seventy eight to fifty three. At Boston, Luca
donsach of La out again for family reasons. He could
return on Sunday. Meanwhile, at New York still second quarter,
it's fifty nine thirty one that Nicks over the Utah Jazz,
big lead at Atlanta Hawks sixty seven forty four over
the Denver Nuggets, and the Magic up sixty seven to
(28:28):
sixty three on Miami in the third quarter. In college basketball,
there's a Top twenty matchup in Nashville. Gonzaga is ripping
Kentucky sixty one thirty six with eleven and a half
minutes to go. And among the five NHL games, it's
the Golden Knight's late second period leading one nothing at
New Jersey. US men's soccer will face Paraguay and Australia
(28:49):
next Summer's World Cup and then it'll face a European
playoff winner.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Back to you, Steve, thank you, okoble Covin watchers, you're
Rob j Husev Roppie on a fucky flashback. And as
we always do on Fridays around his time, we're getting
ready to be down with the King.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Checking in with u Man.
Speaker 1 (29:05):
Sean King, former NFL quarterback, Fox Sports Radio, NFL analyst
Real Sean King on ex Sewan whatever, bruht Sean nothing,
good man. Just talking to Lamar a little bit here.
I want to get your perspective of this. You played
the position quarterback. You know what it is to lead
a team, lead a franchise. You played football, you know
what it is to be tough. Let me ask you this,
(29:29):
when do you have the conversation with yourself? When does
maybe the coach or general manager somebody have a conversation
of Man, it might be best to just set it,
you know, sit this one out or shut it down,
or is it pushed through. I'll give you an example.
We're talking about Lamar ankle injury, hamstring injury. Not looking great.
He's actually looking really bad. He's not running. He looks
(29:49):
hesitant even when he is guys are catching him that
normally don't. He's just off. His passenger of passing efficiency
is off. What do you make of what he's going through?
And how tough is that to kind of gauge when
you're like, no, man, I actually really am hurting. I'm
hurting the team versus no, I'm hurt, but I can
keep going.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
So I don't think they got a backup oxing on
the roster that gives you a better chance to win
than Lamar Jackson. And you look at the division, I mean,
and it's still anybody's division. Sure, I think it'd be
different if somebody had ran away. But you know with
Lamar you can player you can't. And you know we
are talking about a god that's a two time NFL MVP.
So you give him the benefit of the doubt I
(30:26):
think at every turn here, and you just hope that
you know, he can continue to get more healthy as
the season goes on and his play can can improve.
But I mean, you're gonna ride a down on Lamar.
I mean, that's your guy. You know, even eighty percent
of him is better than one hundred percent of anybody else.
They have won the roster.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
Well, speaking, of MVP is another big game in the AFC.
You got reigning MVP Josh Allen hosting Joe Burrow and
the Bengals, And I just told Calvin that I think
if if Cincinnati gets this upset win and if somehow
Pittsburgh is able to stun in Baltimore, not because you
know Baltimore is that great because the Pittsburgh is still bad.
You know, I think that the Bengals can win that
division outright. I think they can run the table and
(31:05):
win it. Am I crazy for thinking that? Sean?
Speaker 4 (31:08):
I mean, you're not crazy, because any team that has
Joe Burrow and that kind of final power is going
to be in it every week. But I mean, are
you willing to put your children's future on that defense?
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Jokes? And you only got like eighty bucks in that account,
so we're fine.
Speaker 4 (31:22):
The defense will be the bigger question. I don't think
they're very good on defense. I think they as we
just alluded to, called a Baltimore team and struggling right
now offensively, But I don't believe that since these defense.
I think that it's great that Joe Burrow. It shows
a competitiveness that he came back, you know, when he's
signed to will his team to a playoff birth. But
ultimately it takes a complete team to make the kind
(31:44):
of run if they need to make, and I just
don't think they're good enough on defense. But this while
they play the games, we'll see I will.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
Go backwards a little bit.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
That's hopping to delay and go back to last night
on Thursday night football lines get a big win, much
needed win. A couple of things that don't want to
ask you from that game. Number one Jamiir gives. I mean,
my guys, I don't feel like maybe we as a
mass media they'll talk about him enough because you know,
we talk quarterbacks. We talk a cute kind of the
greatest hits if you will, the Cowboys, Aaron Rodgers, But
Jamiir gives been incredible. Tell me what you see for him.
(32:12):
And then also I want to go a little bit
with with the Lions. Can they go without Brian Branch
they've been Andrew Robbie and I talked about this so much.
Can they still make a push with all the injuries
they've had?
Speaker 4 (32:25):
Samith gives this phenomenal. I mean he can do everything,
run between the co coos, He's got toump in speed,
he can catch it. I mean, he's with's out a deficiency.
The biggest story last night is, I mean Detroit defense,
even though like Dallas scored thirty, Like they got pe
teachers and weight room coaches in my secondary right now.
(32:47):
And when CD went down because Pickens was in his feelings,
you know, Dallas just didn't have the dudes to keep
making plays. I thought Dak missed a couple of throws
early that could have changed, Like the momentum in the game,
he has lamb wide open for a touchdown. He threw
the ball over his head out of bounce. But I
don't believe in Detroit, you know, especially not at branches out.
(33:08):
I think he said he's got a mkiele, you.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
Know, I mean that right, you had it right, you ready,
right Saturday, and.
Speaker 4 (33:12):
I think they'd already lost the other three starters, and
that they did. I don't think that's sustainable moving forward.
But I mean, the one thing about that team is
they take on the personality of their head coach and
he's a no excuse guy. He's a next man up.
So we'll see if they can get it done. But again,
I think it takes a complete team to win a
championship in that league, and a lot like I just
(33:34):
think Detroit the second there is going to be an
issue at some point.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
That's fair form n if our quarterback Sean King here
with the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio sticking to
that division Big game, of course, you got the Bears
and the Packers going head to head. The Bears surprisingly
the number one team in the NFC this season, despite
the fact that outside of maybe Rob Parker, I don't
think anyone thinks they're really that good and kayleb Williams
is the kind of winning in spite of him. What
(33:59):
are your thoughts first on Caleb Willis as a quarterback?
You play quarterback at number two? Do you think that
this is a kind of a game where, like I say,
Green Bay exposes them, but they kind of show you
that beating up on bad teams does not make you
the top team in the NFC.
Speaker 4 (34:14):
Well, I think anybody can beat you any week in
the NFL. I think we've seen that this year. They
preseason Bears to win the NFC North Picket.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
So wow, you're the one.
Speaker 4 (34:26):
Yeah, A lot of the one to Caleb. Caleb and
bow Knicks are so similar to me, Like they've got
this hyper phonetic energy that they play with on every down.
And because Denver's a little better on defense, because I
think Sam Payton's more experienced and Ben Johnson's doing a
good job, they've kind of been able to manage Bowl
(34:46):
a little bit. But Kayla's just got to calm down.
Like if he ever could just calm down, he'd be
so much better as a quarterback. But a lot of
the inconsistency with him being able to locate the football
because he's just like the road runner out there. Everything's
a thousand speed. It's frustrating to watch because I want
to cast my ticket, but being Johnson is trying his
(35:09):
best to channel. You know, what makes Caleb really good
with is his ability to extend plays, and he's an
elite athlete like Caleb Williams. In a lot of ways,
it's as good of an athlete as Lamar Jackson. And
that may sound crazy because people don't attach that to
Caleb well watching like nobody runs him down, but he
outruns guys all the time. But he's just got to
(35:30):
settle down and make the layups. If he can do that,
Chicago's dangerous because they're talenting on offense man Dj Moore Dunes,
so they got two good tight ends. They comet in Loveland.
De Andre Swift's kind of re emerged with Ben Johnson.
I'm want to miss Prounce's name, Meninda the back of
one of the guys. Lucid Burden is playing well as
(35:52):
a rookie. So if cayleorb can settle down, Chicago's dangerous.
But this is a good test for him. I don't
know what Jordan Loves you're gonna get from week to week,
but if you get the good win green Bay and
win it all, if the other Jordan Love sows up,
then they're not a thread at all. But it's a
good test Division game. Green Bay's chasing Chicago. Who would
have thought we'd have said that at this point of
the year.
Speaker 3 (36:13):
Yeah it.
Speaker 4 (36:16):
I was gonna found myself on the back test for
Caleb Hey, one.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
More real quick from me. Texans at Chiefs. This is
it for the Chiefs, right and they're coming up. They
picked the worst time to be in to do a
die situation against a surging Texans team that's playing great,
not only defensively.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
We already know that the offense is starting to come alive.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Well we'll see. I got a taxis to win the
AFC ticket as well, so hopefully c. J. Stroud can
find that rookie magic that he had. I still think, uh,
what the hell is going on with Joe Mixon. I mean,
him coming back at any point before this season ends
would be tremendous for that offensive attack because he's such
(36:55):
a dynamic running back. But until then, they're gonna have
to manage the game throwing the football. Gotta figure a
way to get Nico Collins more involved. Right, He's a
top five six wide receiver who goes invisible a lot
of times in that system. But I mean they're as
good as anybody on defense. I love the Miko Ryanson
ahead coach. I think they go ahead and knock Casey
out of the playoff front this weekend.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
Anything you got any best bet? Oh?
Speaker 4 (37:19):
I got two great ones that I love. Listen to
Indiana Hoosier's money line tomorrow versus Ohio State. Wow, quarterback
Ohio State's played all year. I know archs Man ain't
got better as the year went on, but remember that game.
He missed a whole lot of layups. Mendoza won't and
I'm staying in that town. I like the coaches to
get it done on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Oh all right, there you have it. Man, I didn't
want to hear that. You don't want to hear none
of that. Appreciate it, man, have a great weekend.
Speaker 4 (37:47):
Shot again, fellas no doubt.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
All right on the way, Rob g has some thoughts
on a quarterback that might possibly be on the move.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
We'll tell you who, and we'll tell you possibly where.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
Next. It's the yacable Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (38:00):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
It's wonderful time movie.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
Are you all set up at home?
Speaker 3 (38:17):
Everything? Oh, we're like halfway. We might not go more
because the baby, and she's been known a breaks down.
We're all we may only go like seventy five percent
over a half.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
Yeah, we're we're sixty five seventy. A couple other little
things we need to do then we'll be able to
do in the next couple of days. Little super Wendy
where I am so I didn't want to put up
certain things there to just call away a couple. Rob
G's in for Rob Parker kelvin Washington on a funky
flash back Friday, and it is now time for your
tire rack player of the day. Your tire reck player
(38:46):
of the day said, hold on for a minute, tell
me more about this Disney California adventure to be specific
outing that we had yesterday.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
You were there, I was there.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
That might have been the play of the day. There
were just so many people. Yeah, we had a whole
squad there. We'll tell you about that in a moment.
Speaker 3 (39:03):
Play the day. Just make sure you get the last shot.
Any regulation reeks there, it goes reachs to tunes.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
Can't get the corner, relay.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
The games to get Spectrum Sports Net on the call.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
There.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
That is your tire reck player of the day, Ruey
with the game winner, and of course iraq is for
over forty years they have been helping customers find the
right tires for how, for what and where they drive.
Ship fast and free back by free World has a
protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, tyreck
dot Com, STA Wait tied buying should be so huge
shot for them, big win for them. You mentioned, by
(39:46):
the way, forty something points for Austin Reeves, which at
some point we got to start talking about this season
for him. Dude is averaging forty one in a game
and a handful of games that Luke hasn't played this season.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
That's in tennis. Is what do you want in ten
insist when Luke's out?
Speaker 4 (40:02):
Now?
Speaker 3 (40:03):
I agree with you, but today's probably not to day
to have that conversation. They're down by thirty points right
now against Boston.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
Stay focused, Okay, what I'm talking about. Let's talking about
it when they please shop? Yeah, didn't nobody ask you that?
Wait till they go play the Lamar LaMelo ball and
Charlotte Hornets.
Speaker 2 (40:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
He ain't gonna play that game either, a game he's
always man, don't get me started on it.
Speaker 1 (40:21):
You know my theory about too much basketball in middle school,
high school and all that affecting these NBA guys. But
all right, so what's what's the rule? This is what
we're getting at he Patrick. You can be in on
this too, Alix. Yeah, getting on this when you're out
and about and you long day. Maybe you're in the
mall Christmas shopping with the family. Maybe you're at Disneyland
like all of us. Were you see people you work with?
(40:43):
Maybe you even see neighbors, see some people you know.
Are you go out of your way to stop and
talk to people? Are you a selective or are you
a I don't want to talk to anybody. Leave me
alone here at the fam I'm tired. It's been a
long day. Where are you falling that? I don't know
why you're dancing around it?
Speaker 3 (40:56):
Because the reason we're talking about this is because you me,
Okay Patrick, A few other people from our Fox plus
our parent company, iHeart, and then the sister station down
the street. We were all there at this event and
it's a private event and it's you know, very exclusive.
O shout out to coast, and each one of us
said off the air that we saw somebody that we knew,
either from here from somewhere else, and we were like,
(41:18):
I go say what's up? Or nah, I'm good. I'm
gonna go ahead and look down and make sure that's
exactly what. It's so fun and I don't feel like
there's a problem with that, but this, okay, you say that.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
This is why I asked the question though, because I
think we're all selective, because there's no way I wouldn't
have chopped it up with you us excited to see
out of it.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
I finally get, you know, to see more of the family.
I met.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Your wife wants you to think it was only time
right show me here once. Yes, when I was here
to see her and kid, you know, the daughters were.
We haven't been able to get them together.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
So I was hoping we would have saw each other
because weeple both had our girls with us.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
Yeah, so if you're one of the I would if Elijah,
if I saw Patrick. So it's like, that's my point
that we are all selective. Let's just be honest.
Speaker 5 (41:58):
I was selective of us. Now, granted I knew rob
g was there only for like a certain amount of time.
I just we just did not cross paths even though
we were.
Speaker 2 (42:07):
Kind of.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
You ignored someone whoever that made you don't have to say.
I may have seen someone in the corner of my eye,
and I was.
Speaker 5 (42:17):
I was with my sister last night when we went
and when I saw hearing like a little bit away,
I just looked at her, leaned.
Speaker 3 (42:23):
Down and he's like, at they don't see me. We're good.
Speaker 5 (42:26):
I literally did the whole you know, the Jeff Goldblum
muscle faster, muscle faster.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
I was like, I left her like, go faster, faster,
go faster. But to your point, had you seen Rob
g you would have oh, are you kidding me? Yeah,
assuming myself if you saw me, because you were mad that.
Speaker 5 (42:40):
I'm mad that I didn't even know you were there
until during the break, I would have literally dropped what
I was doing, gone out of line Likekelvin.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
Now, the funny part is, had Rob as in Rob
Parker been there, I might have just kept moving.
Speaker 2 (42:53):
I might have been like, I have an obligation. I
see her too much every day.
Speaker 3 (42:58):
You know why, because it would have taken Rob ten
minute to get to where you were at. You would
have been done with what you were doing. Oh god,
where are you? I would have had an obligation, what's up?
Come take a picture with me? Come on, don't rob.
Speaker 1 (43:11):
By the way for the viewer and the listener sho
up to YouTube and people listen. Rob off Air is
kind of a teddy bear, would you agree like, especially
especially in certain settings like big settings. He's kind of
often just chill and quiet. People would be blown away
what they think of him. It's funny because he's loud
(43:34):
and crazy here. But actually Rob's like, hey, guys, all
sweet and nice and you know you're like what, it's
actually hilarious.
Speaker 3 (43:40):
Right, Let me flip this topic on real quick, yes
or no answer. We we all agree that if someone
don't want to see an I say, hi, what if
there is somebody that you do like, are you obligated
to go out of your way and be lined fifteen
twenty ft to say what's up? Or can you just
throw up the deuces and be like acknowledge.
Speaker 1 (43:54):
You No, I'm gonna tell you why, because if you
like him, that means you guys should usually be on
the same temp they were, Like, if Rob Jesus chucked
the do with me, I would know all his autor
must to be tired, like because you're my guy, So
he's only doing it for a reason, Like he wouldn't
just keep She's on one right now. You don't see this,
so I think they're you the same thing, same thing here,
(44:14):
plus the thing when you get olt grown enough, it
is what it is. We ain't really got to talk.
I'm alright with that. Fox Sports Radio
