a week and it's been confirmed a couple of days ago.
Over the weekend, President Donald Trump will be in attendant
at MSG here for tonight's Game three, and as a result,
Madison Square Garden staffing has said that fans are now
being asked to get to the game.

At least two hours early. Even that wasn't enough for
some people.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
They were required to provide a ticket to get past
various checkpoints, so one ticket does not guarantee access to
the next checkpoint, so on and so forth, and they
got to go through tsa type secure already that goes
for everybody. Fans media, including Victor win Bunyaw is a
good photo of him online getting wanded down like he
did to sneak anything in that eight foot frame going
to take three people doing exactly and everybody's good.

That was a wand or his arm.

Let's just saying everybody's upset about it, including dearon Fox.

happenings game. Three Knicks up, two one looking to put
their foot snap the necks of the Spurs.

Gonna blame this Madison Square Garden fiasco on President Donald Trump?

Did you hear me? Why aren't you think you have?
Why not? There's only one person to blame this one.
Oh guess I think I know who it is. It's
James Dolan. It's James Dolan. He's to blame.

He had been away from the team, Calvin with the spear,
getting that done. All of a sudden the Knicks got
right in right. He had been out of the picture.
You had heard anything from him? Now the biggest night
in New York since Fight Sinatra saying New York's New York. Now,
Jay Z No, I'm going even further back, and the

night is going to be ruined. And not just inside
the building or the game. The pregame, no watch party outside,
no fans.

You can't get within a three.

Block radius of Madison Square Garden because James Dolean decides
that his buddy Donald Trump needs to come to an
NBA Finals game with this magnitude. Here's New York about
to explode, right, has to have a finals.

Game since nineteen ninety nine.

Hasn't won a championship since nineteen seventy three, and instead
you dampened the mood by having the most unpopular president
in the history of the United States show up. Like, seriously,
it's such a buzzkill. It's such a kill joy. It's
a wet blanket being thrown over New York Nick fans.

It really really is. And God forbid the Knicks.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
So if they lose this game and lose the series
or somehow, it will be the Trump curse.

It will be why why here and now? Why? It
would be one thing.

If I don't know it was game six or down
the road, you know, like they've played a couple of games,
but here's a crescendo. Crescendo after winning the two games
in the Spurs, this is the big moment.

They come home.

It's the first time the fans have a chance to
really let the Knicks hear it, be there to crowd
whatever everybody and guess what, James Dolan inflates the prices
of the tickets so that the fans can't go tickets
going for ten thousand dollars at the top of MSG

the audacity to auction off to celebrity road tickets for
a million dollars. Do you know how many people homeless,
shelters and soup kitchens that the Knicks could help with
a million dollars rather than taking it in for two
tickets to a two hour and ten minute basketball game.
I mean, come on, James Dolan, you couldn't help yourself.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
You did it.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
You wanted to ruin the biggest night in New York
Knicks basketball.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
History and in generations, and you did it with this stunt.
I mean, you hit on a lot of stuff.

The fact of the matter is it's a such thing
is chemistry, a such thing is flow. It's a such
thing as if you want to call it mojo, if
you want to call it just you know, a good
vibe going and all of a sudden you ruin. You
could have a chance to ruin that. And this is
what I don't like more than anything. New York, as
you know, is full of bus drivers, a garbage men.
(05:51):
You got lawyers, you've got street food, car working point
is it's a bunch of just different types of people
who are all coming together. And all the people I
know in New York to say, man, I haven't seen
this much unity and so long, haven't seen this much
you know, camaraderie and so long. And a part of
that is too, Hey, we all can't afford to get
an MSG. But we can do is have these little
(06:11):
watch parties outside of MSG around the corner. You got
people projecting him on the walls and neighborhoods. And to
have those things blocked off, to have those things canceled,
to have folks can't go here, can't go there, to
have the team lose their flow, what they've been doing,
their their normal routines. Got to get up earlier, got
to go here early, gotta get checked. You just hurt
the Aaron FOXX can't bring these things to the King,

can't bring that. Why would you do that now when
things have been going so well to me? And this
is also considering you mentioned something President Trump. This isn't
even a political statement and both administrations. One thing President
Trump does is making about President Trump.

York City. He is a fan of the Knicks. You
would think he say let me lay back, not even
even if he was the most popular, because maybe it's
turned into like, but it's gonna be about me.

If they show him on the screen, the minute the
camera go, it's gonna be the deepest, loudest. He's from
New York and people and people don't exactly so to me,
I just think, and not to mention, the city is enjoying.

are great. It just seems like a bad time to
do this. And if anything, if I were gonna do
this is the time. And we've mentioned it. I said
it last week and i'mna say it again. That you
bring out before everybody's getting lined up, we do the
national anthem, we're getting ready to sing, and this is
when you come out if you're James Dolan on the
mic and say hey, yes, you're gonna boo you. But

you say, look, there's been some tough times. I've made
some tough decisions. You all have been riding with us,
and I want to do something to write this thing.
He's apologized, I've apologized. Please welcome out, Charles Oakley. That's
the movie you were supposed to do today in Game three.
Of course, we talked about this last week that would
unify and really take a team that's right on the

high and explode it and take it through the roof.
So to me, it's a missed opportunity there, and more
than anything, I just think it's hijacking the story from
your team that is playing great. The story is gonna
be about President Trump if they lose, instead of just
hey we miss some shot, It's gonna be about President.

Trumbout his bad luck.
Speaker 6 (08:28):
If they win and people interview him, he's gonna say,
you know, maybe they need to bring me more often.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
I might be the good luck charm for the Knicks.

You and to me, I just want this to be
about the current Knicks who are playing hard, who are
all about the town, all about the city, and I
don't want to ruin any of that. And there's a
chance you may, and there's nothing else at minimum, You've
just inconvenienced the city, the fans, and the players.

is he is an incredible player. I told you obviously
gonna be the facing league, one of the best ever
when it's all said and done. But the reason I
picked the Knicks was that he was two. He alone
(09:48):
as well as the Knicks. If I mean that Spurs.
If this were just the Spurs, Rob and just Winby
was the young one, I'd be okay with this. The
issue that I have with the Spurs is that everybody's young.
Your best player are twenty two, twenty one, twenty and
even your coach is young. He's like thirty eight. That
ain't Greg pop. If it's mits Johnson's gotta learn. And
(10:09):
so what would happen in Game two? Winby starts to
go to work, starts to score, brings them back in it.
But then he has his couple of bad plays, right
as a turnover which turned to the foul, which turned
to the you know the shot. He got a good look,
but you would prefer a better shot to end the
game and try to win it. And so he had
his moment rob that comes with the bumps in the

bruises of the NBA. He's not alone in this. I
look at guys like Kobe Bryant, young phenom. People are
excited about him. He's in the playoffs against the Utah Jazz.
What does he do shoots a bunch of air balls.
He had to have his moment. I look at a
young shack toasted the town, new fun thing in the league.
He's got all the commercials, he got platinum albums. Finally
goes up against a team and the Rockets in the finals.
(10:51):
They get swept and he gets schooled by a keem
and he realizes, you still got work to do, young fella.
I look at, of course Lebron twenty two years old,
just like Weinby gets to the finals. Verse to who
the Spurs gets swept, Tim Duncan and them show them
how you do it, and show them what an expert
and veteran team looks like. And I look at the
Spurs and I say, if it were just Wimby was
(11:11):
the twenty two year old, but they had an older
Tim Duncan, or a Jennobley or even a Kawhi, then
I feel much more comfortable. But the fact that he
is the eldest of the of the better players is
a problem. And the guys who won Young Magic had Vets,
Jamal Wilkes, Storm and Norman Knicks, Nixon, he had, of
course Kareem, and then you look at Larry birdwhen he
(11:34):
won you you had veteran guys on those teams. And
that's my challenge with the Spurs. It's not that they're
not good, not that they're not very good, but they
hadn't gone through the lessons, they hadn't gone through those
turnovers and bad moments like he had.

In Game two.

You kind of got to go through that to get there.
Michael Jordan was incredible in the posseason, but he wasn't
winning anything because he had to go through it. It scores
sixty something against the Celtics, still lose. When I watched
Game two and I watched the end and some of
the mistakes, we just had olden polonies on what did
he say? He said, they've all played the Knicks in
a large portion of this series, but they don't know
(12:09):
how to have key moments, how to close out, and
they make a few young blunders and young mistakes. And
that's to me what's played out thus far. They've been competitive,
they've been right there, they've had the league at times,
obviously had the lead in Game one, but they haven't
been able to close. They have it, even Mit Sjohnson
hasn't mastered it as a coach yet. When should I
call time out? Wh when should I drop a better play?
And this is just a part of the learning curve.
(12:31):
And I saw it to me when that little minute
and a half for Winby was a bad stretch, last
forty five seconds or whatever it was, that was his
Kobe air ball, and that was his shot getting schooled
by a team that was his Bronz just not ready
and prepared enough for the Spurs. He's been good, but
he hasn't been great, and nor have the Spurs. And
I think they're gonna learn it. They're gonna be forced
to be wreckoned with in the future. But this is
(12:52):
why a veterani grizzled team like the Knicks have been
through it a little bit. You got a coach, has
been through it. You got four of their starting five
guys championships in college. They know how to get it done.
This is why, to me, the Spurs are just early.
It's not that they're bad, they're just early.

Yeah, I disagree totally because we just saw Oka. See
the second youngest team never won a championship. They didn't
have any of those guys. They were a very young
team twenty five years old. And the conversation you're having,
and I'm just gonna be calling, like, I see, if
Wimby makes that shot, that is not the conversation you
(13:28):
would be like. The difference between you say and them
being not being ready is the difference between not the
turnover one shot.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
If he knocks that shot down.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
They came back from fourteen down right against the Knicks.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
They also win win.

That game and then it's one to one, and you
would feel totally different because Wimby had the big three
point play in that stretch with the fourteen points to
get them.

Back in that game.

They look dead, They looked out of it in the
third quarter, in the second half at that point when
they fell behind, and and they played and as great
as Cat has played and done a good job, he
had four points in the second half. That's that's what
he had. He had four points in the second half.
And I agree with Olden. There are stretches, big stretches
where they have played better than the Knicks, and they
(14:17):
have made In Game one de Aaron Fox was bad,
really bad, right, Wemby didn't play great, didn't shoot well,
six for twenty one, and they lose by ten. This game,
of course is a heartbreaker because you're gonna go down
on two, but it's a one point game. I don't
look at it like they can't win and I don't
even know. This is just my gut. They could push through.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
And win tonight and and and win the next four games.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
That that is what I feel like if they were
to get it together, even Brunson, who you can normally
count on when he missed that free throw.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
That was that wasn't was that not an opening when
you show.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Yeah, but that was that moment where you went, Wow,
this guy's usually money in that spot and that's a
huge free throw And obviously didn't come back to bite
the Knicks. But I'm not giving up on Winby and
what he's able to do. And so far in the
two games, not chop Liver, twenty seven and a half points,
ten and a half rebounds, you know, I think it's
(15:23):
rob g Is that three oh? How many blocks? Is
that three and a half or one and a half?
I got them and one and a half steals. So
the numbers are good. They could have been better than
shooting percentage. Obviously in game one, six for twenty one,
I don't care. And your team only loses by ten
is amazing when Fox and Wimby.

Didn't play well.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
But anyway, I have not given up hope in Wimby
and him having a big game, and I'm looking at
how the Knicks, you know, gave it up and the
pressure again, they're at home, you know what I mean,
the home crowd.

There's a whole thing there. And even though they got
a cushion.

This is one of those where if you're going to
win the game the Spurs, tonight is the night. And
if you win that game, you start to feel like
we came back in game two fourteen down, tied the game,
and now we just came into massive square going. You
start to believe like, like we can win this game.
And I'm talking about it's the Spurs, not me. Uh.

You know, that's the mindset you could have if you're
the Spurs.

be in attendance, we knew the ticket prices were obscene
and credit to one Josh Hart for speaking up about
it over the weekend.

The environment atmosphere is going to be electric, obviously, and
we're happy that we're at home and you know, we
have them at our back. I kind of wish the
ticket prices weren't as crazy as they are. I feel
like a lot of people who are I've been waiting
for this moment for a very long time, you know,
unfortunately aren't able to get into the building with what,

you know, the cheapest ticket seven eight thousand dollars. So
it's just that's ridiculous. But you know, it should still
be rocking. But obviously wishdoms are a low cheaper.

Hey, I love it. It's just straight facts. He knows it.
He's an NBA player making millions, and he knows the
average Joes can't pay no ten thousand dollars to sit
in the nosebleeds, can't put in the auction for the
million dollar bid for two celebrity road seats. Tickets going

some going for fifty three thousand. Are you kidding? It's
it's crazy.

And what I love about him and some of the
questions that they've asked Carlthony Towns, They're like, oh, well,
how great is this?

How cool?

Celebrity Rode, He's like, yeah, it's great, But I feel
like every Nick Fanning is a celebrity. His point was,
they come in here, they cheer us, they support us,
we feel them. And here Josh hard again, Man, I
wish I wish, you know, the average Joe can get
it here?

You know.

Can that guy who works, you know, at my bodega?
Can that guy who is not ups driver, you know,
can that guy who's just you know whatever, you may
be different walks of life. Can they have an opportunity
to come see the team they love they have? You
know that guy that's maybe sixty three and hasn't seen
the team win since he was you know, ten or
eleven or something like that. And I think that I

loved this. Here Guys like that speak out because they
don't have to. They can just be in their own
little bubble of millionaire world. But to acknowledge the small men,
acknowledge the everyday man, and woman who support them, who
love this team. I just think is really cool and
I appreciate Josh Harten guys like that speaking up saying it,
because what we have done rob both of y'all. We've
gotten to a place where we're pricing out the average

fan to everything. You want to go see Beyonce Cool,
I hope you got fifteen hundred, one thousand dollars whatever,
you want to go see Taylor Swift cool. I hope
you got eight hundred, nine hundred, you know, dollars you
want to go see Bruno Mars, you want to go
see Hamilton or some big play. I mean, we're getting
to the place where if you're not very well off
me and you talk about this all the time, NFL games,
(19:39):
ridiculous parking, four tickets, one hundred and twenty dollars to park.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
Two hundred some dollars, three hundred dollars for per ticket,
twelve dollars, diet cars and cokes.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
It's just and you end up being in a situation
we're like, man, can the average fan, average Joe, average
Jane go to a game at this point? And I
just think we're, you know, we're pricing out everything shouldn't
be elite. You know, if you're not the halves, you know,
one percent, and you can't go to things, and that's
not fair to the average person in most Americans.

And I'll tell you this, I think I might have
shared the story about still robers you might remember. I'm
not sure if I have, but I remember two thousand
and five, after the Pistons won the championship and Larry
Brown came to my barbershop and he brought two tickets
to give to somebody in a barbershop. Nice and he
was just like, I want to give it to some
(20:30):
of the fans who are the real fans who can
never really get in, do you know what I mean?
And even he valued like the idea that we know
this time is coming, and all the big wigs and
all the people with all the money they get to
go to the games. And that's why you've also heard
sometimes like the crowds on as good in the postseason
(20:51):
because you don't have the regular fans who it is
that the case with the Lakers over the years, like
the real fans not getting in all the time.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Real fans haven't been able to well, you know, the
regular fan hasn't been a Laker game in like fifteen.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
Years, and you're you're a big example of that. Yeah,
I was disappointed last time.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
I mean, look, when I went to the last game
I went to was a West well, the last playoff
game Western Conference Finals Lakers Suns, and I sat on
the top deck in the very front row there, and
it was I think two hundred dollars a ticket. Now,
if I try to go to a game like that
in the first round, you're looking at four to five
hundred dollars to sit at the top.

Yeah, it's just And the craziest part about it is
it's not like everyone's salary's gone up and and and
you know all the every like money is just sky high. Okay,
Weimby's got Did you see that, robb Gi did you
see that? Whenby's got to relax? He just but it's nice,
it's stead easy, and it's she jumped two inches, nice
pick and roll from de Aaron Fox. He rolled and

de Aaron just threw it up and he just hit
a nice and that's what it should be right there.

Yeah, Yeah, I mean I don't even think they've explored
that enough.

Him on the pick and roll yet every time the
oh that's gonna be a foleo on somebody. Yeah, good
game though, fifty four to fifty. But I just thought
that was really cool that Josh Hart would you know
what I mean? Like he just like man, you know,
regular people matter, Regular folks matter. Guys are trying to
come to these games and fans and you know these
fans in New York for real, I've told you they're dying.

Nineteen seventy three is a long time. They want to
celebrate something. That's why the crowds are outside.

That's why all these young people are out there, because
they've never experienced it other than the Yankees winning, right,
they really haven't experienced it. And again the Knicks or
the unifying team. They're the only team in New York
that unifies the city. That's a good point because some
people Mets are Yank Giants. No Brooklyn, No, no, no,

because they're not really in the equation of this.

They're the new team. They were New Jersey.

And when they were in the finals those two years

happenings game. Three Knicks up, two one looking to put
their foot snap the necks of the Spurs.

Gonna blame this Madison Square Garden fiasco on President Donald Trump?

Did you hear me? Why aren't you think you have?
Why not? There's only one person to blame this one.

James Dolan. It's James Dolan. He's to blame.

He had been away from the team, Calvin with the spear,
getting that done. All of a sudden the Knicks got
right in right. He had been out of the picture.
You had heard anything from him? Now the biggest night
in New York since Fight Sinatra saying New York's New York. Now,
Jay Z No, I'm going even further back, and the

night is going to be ruined. And not just inside
the building or the game. The pregame, no watch party outside,
no fans.

You can't get within a three.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Block radius of Madison Square Garden because James Dolean decides
that his buddy Donald Trump needs to come to an
NBA Finals game with this magnitude. Here's New York about
to explode, right, has to have a finals.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Game since nineteen ninety nine.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Hasn't won a championship since nineteen seventy three, and instead
you dampened the mood by having the most unpopular president
in the history of the United States show up. Like, seriously,
it's such a buzzkill. It's such a kill joy. It's
a wet blanket being thrown over New York Nick fans.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
It really really is. And God forbid the Knicks.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
So if they lose this game and lose the series
or somehow, it will be the Trump curse.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
It will be why why here and now? Why? It
would be one thing.

If I don't know it was game six or down
the road, you know, like they've played a couple of games,
but here's a crescendo. Crescendo after winning the two games
in the Spurs, this is the big moment.

They come home.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
It's the first time the fans have a chance to
really let the Knicks hear it, be there to crowd
whatever everybody and guess what, James Dolan inflates the prices
of the tickets so that the fans can't go tickets
going for ten thousand dollars at the top of MSG

the audacity to auction off to celebrity road tickets for
a million dollars. Do you know how many people homeless,
shelters and soup kitchens that the Knicks could help with
a million dollars rather than taking it in for two
tickets to a two hour and ten minute basketball game.
I mean, come on, James Dolan, you couldn't help yourself.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
You did it.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
You wanted to ruin the biggest night in New York
Knicks basketball.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
History and in generations, and you did it with this stunt.
I mean, you hit on a lot of stuff.
Speaker 6 (05:30):
The fact of the matter is it's a such thing
is chemistry, a such thing is flow. It's a such
thing as if you want to call it mojo, if
you want to call it just you know, a good
vibe going and all of a sudden you ruin. You
could have a chance to ruin that. And this is
what I don't like more than anything. New York, as
you know, is full of bus drivers, a garbage men.
(05:51):
You got lawyers, you've got street food, car working point
is it's a bunch of just different types of people
who are all coming together. And all the people I
know in New York to say, man, I haven't seen
this much unity and so long, haven't seen this much
you know, camaraderie and so long. And a part of
that is too, Hey, we all can't afford to get
an MSG. But we can do is have these little
(06:11):
watch parties outside of MSG around the corner. You got
people projecting him on the walls and neighborhoods. And to
have those things blocked off, to have those things canceled,
to have folks can't go here, can't go there, to
have the team lose their flow, what they've been doing,
their their normal routines. Got to get up earlier, got
to go here early, gotta get checked. You just hurt
the Aaron FOXX can't bring these things to the King,
(06:33):
can't bring that. Why would you do that now when
things have been going so well to me? And this
is also considering you mentioned something President Trump. This isn't
even a political statement and both administrations. One thing President
Trump does is making about President Trump.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
Right, we know that's what.

She ape you should be about to nick to New
York City. He is a fan of the Knicks. You
would think he say let me lay back, not even
even if he was the most popular, because maybe it's
turned into like, but it's gonna be about me.

There's gonna be booz in the building, is what I'm saying.

If they show him on the screen, the minute the
camera go, it's gonna be the deepest, loudest. He's from
New York and people and people don't exactly so to me,
I just think, and not to mention, the city is enjoying.

are great. It just seems like a bad time to
do this. And if anything, if I were gonna do
this is the time. And we've mentioned it. I said
it last week and i'mna say it again. That you
bring out before everybody's getting lined up, we do the
national anthem, we're getting ready to sing, and this is
when you come out if you're James Dolan on the
mic and say hey, yes, you're gonna boo you. But
(07:48):
you say, look, there's been some tough times. I've made
some tough decisions. You all have been riding with us,
and I want to do something to write this thing.
He's apologized, I've apologized. Please welcome out, Charles Oakley. That's
the movie you were supposed to do today in Game three.
Of course, we talked about this last week that would
unify and really take a team that's right on the
(08:08):
high and explode it and take it through the roof.
So to me, it's a missed opportunity there, and more
than anything, I just think it's hijacking the story from
your team that is playing great. The story is gonna
be about President Trump if they lose, instead of just
hey we miss some shot, It's gonna be about President.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Trumbout his bad luck.
Speaker 6 (08:28):
If they win and people interview him, he's gonna say,
you know, maybe they need to bring me more often.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
I might be the good luck charm for the Knicks.

You and to me, I just want this to be
about the current Knicks who are playing hard, who are
all about the town, all about the city, and I
don't want to ruin any of that. And there's a
chance you may, and there's nothing else at minimum, You've
just inconvenienced the city, the fans, and the players.

is he is an incredible player. I told you obviously
gonna be the facing league, one of the best ever
when it's all said and done. But the reason I
picked the Knicks was that he was two. He alone
(09:48):
as well as the Knicks. If I mean that Spurs.
If this were just the Spurs, Rob and just Winby
was the young one, I'd be okay with this. The
issue that I have with the Spurs is that everybody's young.
Your best player are twenty two, twenty one, twenty and
even your coach is young. He's like thirty eight. That
ain't Greg pop. If it's mits Johnson's gotta learn. And
(10:09):
so what would happen in Game two? Winby starts to
go to work, starts to score, brings them back in it.
But then he has his couple of bad plays, right
as a turnover which turned to the foul, which turned
to the you know the shot. He got a good look,
but you would prefer a better shot to end the
game and try to win it. And so he had
his moment rob that comes with the bumps in the
(10:29):
bruises of the NBA. He's not alone in this. I
look at guys like Kobe Bryant, young phenom. People are
excited about him. He's in the playoffs against the Utah Jazz.
What does he do shoots a bunch of air balls.
He had to have his moment. I look at a
young shack toasted the town, new fun thing in the league.
He's got all the commercials, he got platinum albums. Finally
goes up against a team and the Rockets in the finals.
(10:51):
They get swept and he gets schooled by a keem
and he realizes, you still got work to do, young fella.
I look at, of course Lebron twenty two years old,
just like Weinby gets to the finals. Verse to who
the Spurs gets swept, Tim Duncan and them show them
how you do it, and show them what an expert
and veteran team looks like. And I look at the
Spurs and I say, if it were just Wimby was
(11:11):
the twenty two year old, but they had an older
Tim Duncan, or a Jennobley or even a Kawhi, then
I feel much more comfortable. But the fact that he
is the eldest of the of the better players is
a problem. And the guys who won Young Magic had Vets,
Jamal Wilkes, Storm and Norman Knicks, Nixon, he had, of
course Kareem, and then you look at Larry birdwhen he
(11:34):
won you you had veteran guys on those teams. And
that's my challenge with the Spurs. It's not that they're
not good, not that they're not very good, but they
hadn't gone through the lessons, they hadn't gone through those
turnovers and bad moments like he had.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
In Game two.
Speaker 6 (11:48):
You kind of got to go through that to get there.
Michael Jordan was incredible in the posseason, but he wasn't
winning anything because he had to go through it. It scores
sixty something against the Celtics, still lose. When I watched
Game two and I watched the end and some of
the mistakes, we just had olden polonies on what did
he say? He said, they've all played the Knicks in
a large portion of this series, but they don't know
(12:09):
how to have key moments, how to close out, and
they make a few young blunders and young mistakes. And
that's to me what's played out thus far. They've been competitive,
they've been right there, they've had the league at times,
obviously had the lead in Game one, but they haven't
been able to close. They have it, even Mit Sjohnson
hasn't mastered it as a coach yet. When should I
call time out? Wh when should I drop a better play?
And this is just a part of the learning curve.
(12:31):
And I saw it to me when that little minute
and a half for Winby was a bad stretch, last
forty five seconds or whatever it was, that was his
Kobe air ball, and that was his shot getting schooled
by a team that was his Bronz just not ready
and prepared enough for the Spurs. He's been good, but
he hasn't been great, and nor have the Spurs. And
I think they're gonna learn it. They're gonna be forced
to be wreckoned with in the future. But this is
(12:52):
why a veterani grizzled team like the Knicks have been
through it a little bit. You got a coach, has
been through it. You got four of their starting five
guys championships in college. They know how to get it done.
This is why, to me, the Spurs are just early.
It's not that they're bad, they're just early.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
Round.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Yeah, I disagree totally because we just saw Oka. See
the second youngest team never won a championship. They didn't
have any of those guys. They were a very young
team twenty five years old. And the conversation you're having,
and I'm just gonna be calling, like, I see, if
Wimby makes that shot, that is not the conversation you
(13:28):
would be like. The difference between you say and them
being not being ready is the difference between not the
turnover one shot.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
If he knocks that shot down.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
They came back from fourteen down right against the Knicks.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
They also win win.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
That game and then it's one to one, and you
would feel totally different because Wimby had the big three
point play in that stretch with the fourteen points to
get them.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
Back in that game.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
They look dead, They looked out of it in the
third quarter, in the second half at that point when
they fell behind, and and they played and as great
as Cat has played and done a good job, he
had four points in the second half. That's that's what
he had. He had four points in the second half.
And I agree with Olden. There are stretches, big stretches
where they have played better than the Knicks, and they
(14:17):
have made In Game one de Aaron Fox was bad,
really bad, right, Wemby didn't play great, didn't shoot well,
six for twenty one, and they lose by ten. This game,
of course is a heartbreaker because you're gonna go down
on two, but it's a one point game. I don't
look at it like they can't win and I don't
even know. This is just my gut. They could push through.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
And win tonight and and and win the next four games.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
That that is what I feel like if they were
to get it together, even Brunson, who you can normally
count on when he missed that free throw.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
That was that wasn't was that not an opening when
you show.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
Yeah, but that was that moment where you went, Wow,
this guy's usually money in that spot and that's a
huge free throw And obviously didn't come back to bite
the Knicks. But I'm not giving up on Winby and
what he's able to do. And so far in the
two games, not chop Liver, twenty seven and a half points,
ten and a half rebounds, you know, I think it's
(15:23):
rob g Is that three oh? How many blocks? Is
that three and a half or one and a half?
I got them and one and a half steals. So
the numbers are good. They could have been better than
shooting percentage. Obviously in game one, six for twenty one,
I don't care. And your team only loses by ten
is amazing when Fox and Wimby.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
Didn't play well.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
But anyway, I have not given up hope in Wimby
and him having a big game, and I'm looking at
how the Knicks, you know, gave it up and the
pressure again, they're at home, you know what I mean,
the home crowd.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
There's a whole thing there. And even though they got
a cushion.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
This is one of those where if you're going to
win the game the Spurs, tonight is the night. And
if you win that game, you start to feel like
we came back in game two fourteen down, tied the game,
and now we just came into massive square going. You
start to believe like, like we can win this game.
And I'm talking about it's the Spurs, not me. Uh.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
You know, that's the mindset you could have if you're
the Spurs.

be in attendance, we knew the ticket prices were obscene
and credit to one Josh Hart for speaking up about
it over the weekend.

The environment atmosphere is going to be electric, obviously, and
we're happy that we're at home and you know, we
have them at our back. I kind of wish the
ticket prices weren't as crazy as they are. I feel
like a lot of people who are I've been waiting
for this moment for a very long time, you know,
unfortunately aren't able to get into the building with what,

you know, the cheapest ticket seven eight thousand dollars. So
it's just that's ridiculous. But you know, it should still
be rocking. But obviously wishdoms are a low cheaper.

Hey, I love it. It's just straight facts. He knows it.
He's an NBA player making millions, and he knows the
average Joes can't pay no ten thousand dollars to sit
in the nosebleeds, can't put in the auction for the
million dollar bid for two celebrity road seats. Tickets going

some going for fifty three thousand. Are you kidding? It's
it's crazy.

And what I love about him and some of the
questions that they've asked Carlthony Towns, They're like, oh, well,
how great is this?

Celebrity Rode, He's like, yeah, it's great, But I feel
like every Nick Fanning is a celebrity. His point was,
they come in here, they cheer us, they support us,
we feel them. And here Josh hard again, Man, I
wish I wish, you know, the average Joe can get
it here?

You know.

Can that guy who works, you know, at my bodega?
Can that guy who is not ups driver, you know,
can that guy who's just you know whatever, you may
be different walks of life. Can they have an opportunity
to come see the team they love they have? You
know that guy that's maybe sixty three and hasn't seen
the team win since he was you know, ten or
eleven or something like that. And I think that I

loved this. Here Guys like that speak out because they
don't have to. They can just be in their own
little bubble of millionaire world. But to acknowledge the small men,
acknowledge the everyday man, and woman who support them, who
love this team. I just think is really cool and
I appreciate Josh Harten guys like that speaking up saying it,
because what we have done rob both of y'all. We've
gotten to a place where we're pricing out the average

fan to everything. You want to go see Beyonce Cool,
I hope you got fifteen hundred, one thousand dollars whatever,
you want to go see Taylor Swift cool. I hope
you got eight hundred, nine hundred, you know, dollars you
want to go see Bruno Mars, you want to go
see Hamilton or some big play. I mean, we're getting
to the place where if you're not very well off
me and you talk about this all the time, NFL games,
(19:39):
ridiculous parking, four tickets, one hundred and twenty dollars to park.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
Two hundred some dollars, three hundred dollars for per ticket,
twelve dollars, diet cars and cokes.
Speaker 6 (19:49):
It's just and you end up being in a situation
we're like, man, can the average fan, average Joe, average
Jane go to a game at this point? And I
just think we're, you know, we're pricing out everything shouldn't
be elite. You know, if you're not the halves, you know,
one percent, and you can't go to things, and that's
not fair to the average person in most Americans.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
And I'll tell you this, I think I might have
shared the story about still robers you might remember. I'm
not sure if I have, but I remember two thousand
and five, after the Pistons won the championship and Larry
Brown came to my barbershop and he brought two tickets
to give to somebody in a barbershop. Nice and he
was just like, I want to give it to some
(20:30):
of the fans who are the real fans who can
never really get in, do you know what I mean?
And even he valued like the idea that we know
this time is coming, and all the big wigs and
all the people with all the money they get to
go to the games. And that's why you've also heard
sometimes like the crowds on as good in the postseason
(20:51):
because you don't have the regular fans who it is
that the case with the Lakers over the years, like
the real fans not getting in all the time.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Real fans haven't been able to well, you know, the
regular fan hasn't been a Laker game in like fifteen.
Speaker 4 (21:04):
Years, and you're you're a big example of that. Yeah,
I was disappointed last time.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
I mean, look, when I went to the last game
I went to was a West well, the last playoff
game Western Conference Finals Lakers Suns, and I sat on
the top deck in the very front row there, and
it was I think two hundred dollars a ticket. Now,
if I try to go to a game like that
in the first round, you're looking at four to five
hundred dollars to sit at the top.
Speaker 6 (21:29):
Yeah, it's just And the craziest part about it is
it's not like everyone's salary's gone up and and and
you know all the every like money is just sky high. Okay,
Weimby's got Did you see that, robb Gi did you
see that? Whenby's got to relax? He just but it's nice,
it's stead easy, and it's she jumped two inches, nice
pick and roll from de Aaron Fox. He rolled and

de Aaron just threw it up and he just hit
a nice and that's what it should be right there.

Yeah, Yeah, I mean I don't even think they've explored
that enough.
Speaker 6 (21:57):
Him on the pick and roll yet every time the
oh that's gonna be a foleo on somebody. Yeah, good
game though, fifty four to fifty. But I just thought
that was really cool that Josh Hart would you know
what I mean? Like he just like man, you know,
regular people matter, Regular folks matter. Guys are trying to
come to these games and fans and you know these
fans in New York for real, I've told you they're dying.

Nineteen seventy three is a long time. They want to
celebrate something. That's why the crowds are outside.

That's why all these young people are out there, because
they've never experienced it other than the Yankees winning, right,
they really haven't experienced it. And again the Knicks or
the unifying team. They're the only team in New York
that unifies the city. That's a good point because some
people Mets are Yank Giants. No Brooklyn, No, no, no,

because they're not really in the equation of this.

They're the new team. They were New Jersey.

And when they were in the finals those two years
