No, slow down, slow down, absolutely not no, No, I
am all for it. I am all for it. I
think it's Jason Smith for the Clippers.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
He's never a jersey.
Speaker 6 (03:16):
It's okay.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
I'm not gonna wear a next jersey.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
That's my that's what I can do. That's why, yeah weird,
I would never wear Celtic shirt.
Speaker 5 (03:23):
That's the difference between you and I am more fun
than you.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
And as she likes to say, you like to say,
everybody's got choice, made the wrong one.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
No, no, no, don't hit on the short king.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
Well let's see what bronson.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
Yeah, hopefully he can uh return back to kind of
his more efficient self, my goodness. And of course the
social media guru elive ever heard of getting this set?
You still ain't heard of him. It's been eight years.
Never heard of him, Elive, I heard of you. I
can't see him. Don't do that, don't do that, don't
do that. He's over there.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Don't do that. See what you got to do with
dark people?
Speaker 3 (03:54):
I can't see the corner the corner. Hit your own
races button. Everybody, it's sitting under a light. But eliash Year,
he's sitting you know what I'm saying, just getting just
get it. I cannot see him. Thank you, shame y'all
got branding over there, blessing. Don't do it like that.
Brandon is like, what show is this? I did not know?
Speaker 4 (04:14):
Brandon is not blush. He was in the sun for
an hour, stopping between you and him.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Because like the vitamin DA, the chromosome of the creatine,
if you get it, then you.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Eat it with the flax. You need the chee bro.
Those two and there do we have.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
To talk about Yeah, yeah, we might have to have
Alex make us U.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
I'm just fishing.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
You were turned out on the on the that little
turned out on it got little turned out. All right,
we'll get to that. We got to have to get
to on the show. Let's start it off with this
game four NBA Finals. President Trump not in the building,
so maybe just maybe the mojo is back for the
next Maybe you got fans right there. I think it's
on third Street of I'm number seventh street, one of
the streets out there to get to be right back
(04:56):
out obviously all of that got mixed because of President
Trump being the building and hopefully they can get back
to former If you are the Knicks, that's what you're
waiting on. And I said this yesterday to Rob. I
think the Knicks president there, the entire city of New
York going crazy. I mean they're going crazy, all the
celebrity role, I mean, it's all of that. And I
(05:17):
said this to you you called in yesterday. I felt
like the Knicks, surprisingly with the tenths team, the tight team,
they felt all that pressure. The whole city there, biggest
city in America, hadn't won it since seventy three, hadn't
been in it since ninety nine.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
I thought the veterans squad felt it.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
I thought the younger team was like, Hey, we ain't
got none to lose, let's go ball out. But here's
gonna be the key for me eprom tonight. What I'm
looking for, I'm looking for the return of the thirteen
winning game winning streak. Cat can Carl Anthony Towns apb
out for him. When they went on the thirteen game
winning streak. A large portion of that was when Cat
(05:55):
they said, let's hero ball from Jalen Jalen. We got
the perfect role for you. Be a part of the flow,
get some shots, do what you do. Close this thing, okay,
Mariano Riveritis thing, come on in, what you want, some
walk out music you want, We're gonna close this thing
on out, and that's what we need you to do. Obviously,
you gonna make some big shots here to that's what
you do. You're best score. But right now you're shooting
(06:15):
thirty seven percent. You're inefficient. They've got big wings all
over the place, body checking you, making it difficult for you.
And that's okay because we built the team for reasons
like situations like this. And I credit Mike Brown for
shifting something he said two days ago. Mike Brown said,
what I had to do as a coach was adjust,
(06:36):
and when it wasn't working, adjust And he said, I
don't try to make the team fit to what I'm doing.
I adjust the game plan to my players. I thought
that was responsible. His point was we're eagleless trying to
find what's working, and he found it. Thirteen game winning streak,
average margin before the finals, twenty four points a game.
They had been in the good groove, sharing the ball,
moving the ball, putting cat at that high post, carling
(07:00):
twenty plus points, twelve plus rebounds. When they've won. He
from kar Anthony Towns can't get for ten shots the
whole game. Only ten shots, right, So for me, you
have to get back to that. Mike Brown said, they're
going to He said, I have to make it a
point to get in the ball. And here's what I'm
gonna ask for the big fellow, God forbid. Once you
and I run the same age, can we ever have
(07:23):
a dude called for the ball? Can we ever have
a dude say, hey, I got this, I'm open, little
got a little guy on me, and I want to
and I want to dominate. So for me, from quick
last point is in order what I want to see
the Knicks in order for them to get back to
win a winning ways, it has to be where Corinthy,
the town is the focal point. They're passing through him.
Look at these numbers, he's shooting fifty six percent, he's
(07:47):
shooting forty six from three. That guy has to have
the ball. So to me, that's where the offenses run
through get back on track. We were under pressure, we
felt it. We raise our hands, we admit it and
get back to our plan performing better.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
This is what I'll tell you.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Everyone was saying, including myself, Karl Anthony Towns has been amazing.
Since the third game of the Atlanta series, He's been amazing.
He's been great in every series, every game. Mike Brown
did something, took some of the pressure off Bronson and
ran the offense through Carl Anthony Towns, and he's They're
(08:26):
benefited greatly for him to the tune of looking like
one of the best teams in the playoffs, especially this playoffs.
What were the rumblings before Game three? I don't want
to believe you. Listen, I don't want to believe you
what I'm saying. We're all human beings. We all expect
(08:47):
things from usespecially if we've ascended to greatness. If Carl
Anthony Towns. People were saying, if the season, if the
series ended today, Carl Anthony Towns would be the finals MVP,
(09:07):
and I agree with that. He played like that, right.
Jalen Brunson is the face of that team. Jalen Brunson,
who has been the topic of small guards can't lead
a team to the promised Land and and and be
the finals MVP, and and and win a finals. That's
(09:30):
out there, that's been talked about. Yeah, this whole uh
Dremond like it's it's just not one person, Kendrick Perkins,
the whole nine yards people are talking about this. Jalen Brunson,
here's this. Jalen Brunson understands what's going on. Jalen Brunson
came out and had a game we haven't seen. His
(09:51):
plus or minus was minus seven. Carl Anthony Towns was
still plus eleven, meaning his minutes on the floor were
more productive. Then Jalen finally got into the thirties and scoring,
but it shot twenty eight times. He's right now, I
think it's eighty two points in the games on eighty
one shots. So subconsciously, whether he's like I'm going out
(10:13):
and subconsciously he understands from a human standpoint what people
are saying. He guess who can't pass the ball to himself?
Karl Anthony Towns cannot pass the ball to himself, right,
Jalen Bronce at the usage rate, and you can demand
all you want, I can look you off, I can
(10:34):
take my shot, I can drive to the court. Who
we saw the Knicks play uncharacteristic basketball in Game three.
That's all I'm saying. All I'm saying is Jalen Bronson
went out, in my opinion, to prove to people why
he's the MVP. He went out to try to win
(10:56):
the MVP in the game that they thought that they
were gonna win. So now you have a game four
for the sweep, and if you go out there and
ball again, they give it to you. But if Carl
Anthony Towns, if it runs through him and say he
has a triple double, and you guys win that game. Brother,
it don't matter what you do in the last game.
(11:17):
I'm not saying I know that, but that's what it
looked like when I was watching. Here's my pushback to that.
I'm not I get the sentiment because that's when it
was the talk. Did you see that was a talk?
Speaker 7 (11:27):
I'm not.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Here's here's what I saw. I really mean this.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
I saw a guy who has Napoleon syndrome. I would
imagine at times because y'all a't too small, not athletic enough,
and I and a guy who is the tallest human
being on earth pushed him down and sundom I saw
that one. I saw Stefan Cassel bulldoze him, and I
saw Jalen Brunson getting pushed over a couple of times. Say,
(11:55):
I'm about to show y'all I'm that guy. I'm built
for this, I'm tough and I can do this, not
trying to be in But but I don't think it
was the mindset of MVP.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
I think it was more so. I'm not gonna let
y'all disrespect me any way.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
You take a player out of their mindset that has
been helping them win. Right, it's a win for the Spurs,
it's a win. I don't disagree with that. So, whether
he's trying to capture the voters in the m v P,
whether he's trying to prove a point to the other team.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
Both of those are wrong. Both of those have the
same outcome.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
One is more malicious, though one is more more you
can pick detrimental to the team.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
I'm doing this for me.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Okay, So if they push him down again this game,
is he gonna do it? If they put him down,
if it's winby specifically, we gotta scratch because can give
he feels.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Like that again.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
If the fine castle runs through his chest, I'm gonna
tell you why, I say no, why I don't think
he'll do that. Okay, Well, if they run into him
or whatever, they elbow, if they you know, try to
rough them up and tough them up. I'll tell you
that after this. And there's the odd couple on a
worst Wednesday e from his end for a rob on
this worship Wednesday. Still a lot to get you. We
(13:05):
got Mike Hill joining us in just a little bit.
Looking forward to that as well. All right, if you
want to jump into it, well, maybe take a couple
of calls eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. We'll take some calls
on this. It is the eye couple on the Worse
of Wednesday, Fox Sports Radio. But if we gotta tell
them all about M Drive. When M Drive first came
to me, I'll be honest what you said, I never
(13:25):
heard of it, and I had neither to be honest
with you. But Dan, of course started to pay attention,
and I was really paying attention what was going on
my body? Same after forty energy drops, weight won't move,
the gym stops giving back what you put in. And
you know what happens, right, you think it's you, it's
not it's testosterone. It declines after forty and it takes
everything with it. So what they did was built M
(13:46):
drive and M drive is built exactly for that. You
pop pop a couple of capsules in the morning and
it's clinically tested ingredients. They support a healthy testosterone, energy, metabolism,
all that good stuff.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
And you were gonna have Alex make us a lotokle concocted.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
I need it. I need it here here's what got
me though. A science his name, Gary Kole built this
almost twenty years ago for himself after feeling the same change.
Everybody feels it. It ain't you, bro, so many of us do.
And we're both working on our health right now. You know,
I was just telling you, looking like it's slimming down a.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
Little bit trying.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
I'm out.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Over a million men use it, including myself. Sixty day
money back guarantee. We're in the middle of this and
so far is working. Mdrive formen dot com Cold Couple
twenty percent off your first order mdrive formen dot com
Mdrive for men who still show up.

gotta we gotta record something after this next break. But
join now by our man Michael Thompson, Duke Time, NBA Champion,
Lakers Radio analyst, Champagne and Nuts. If you want to
follow him, all shut up in advance. If you want
to follow him on X Michael, what's up man?
Speaker 6 (15:55):
How are you going to talk to you guys not
excited that. I just hope my Spurs can win extend
this series again tonight.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Okay, well, hold on, way, what is this mine? What
is this my Spurs? Can you elaborate?
Speaker 4 (16:06):
Please?
Speaker 6 (16:07):
I love this team, man, they are they are they
are so good, so young. I love Remley the new
face of the NBA, and uh I want I want
them to put their stamp in the league this year
as NBA champions because they are going to be around
for the next fifteen years. Where I was young and
didn't they are.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Let me, let me ask you to that point, what
is it about this team? What do you see in
this team? The youth, but the tenacity that what do
you see that that has you know, is taken the
league by storm.
Speaker 6 (16:36):
They're fairless, they are not intimidated by anybody. In spite
of their youth. They're not afraid to compete every night,
especially Stefan Castle. He says the tone Billan Harper Man,
Ron Harper short taught that boy how to compete, because
obviously Ron Harper competed one of the greatest competitors in
the world, next to Michael Jordan and forth Kobe Bryant.
So I'm sure he passed along those stories about those
(16:57):
two guys, about how those guys competing all the Ron himself.
So when you see these young boys go out there
and now Vic coul Ben Benyama has the same type
of Kobe mentality as all he cares about his winning man.
I just love how mature they offer their age.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
That is true.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
I mean, you're your best players twenty two, twenty one,
and twenty and here you are just down one game
in the NBA Finals. You would think, you say, this
is what I was banking on. Michael, I picked the
Knicks just simply based off the Spurs are incredible. I'm
like the NBA history, They're just too young. They could
be changing history. I wanted to ask you this, I
asked e Fan this. You played in La of course,
with the Lakers in the peak, like the heyday of
(17:32):
the eighties, showtime Lakers, Magic, yourself worthy, the whole nine
cap as well.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
That was when La.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
Was La in right, celebrities everywhere. I said, maybe that
rivals what we saw in the Knicks in Game three.
How did you compartmentalize that or maybe you didn't did
it when you first felt that because that was the
first game, the Knicks were in the finals at home.
The whole city's on you, all the pressure. Haven't won
in fifty three years. President Trump is there. I mean,
(18:00):
that would have been a lot. How would you have
handled that when you were playing?
Speaker 6 (18:03):
Are you kidding you guys? Typical media people. You know,
all you guys are overreacting. That's a standard game for
the Lakers. All the celebrities you saw. You can come
to a Laker game, player Charlotte and you have those
type of celebrities of their game. And that of course,
when the big teams come in, when Janni's or Steph
or the Knicks come in, or you know, Webby comes in,
then the celebrities come out even more than what you
(18:24):
saw in New York the other night. So, and the
tickets don't cost fifty thousand dollars to get in for
some people. So what they saw in New York was great.
It's great to see all the famous people there and
enjoying the show. But that's standard, that's routine in LA
when the Lakers are a Laker game.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
I was telling him, Michael Jackson used to be at
the Laker game, Like, what are we talking about here?
Speaker 4 (18:43):
First of all, both of you are I agree with
you in the right now. No, you there is not
a Laker game like what we just saw. Are you
kidding me?
Speaker 6 (18:54):
There are just about us says the forty one games,
I would say as many celebrities as at that game
game game three, I would say out of forty one
home games with the Lakers, twenty five games.
Speaker 8 (19:04):
Are like that.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
We were in regular games, just so you.
Speaker 6 (19:08):
Know, regular games, regular season games, and then when the
playoffs starts, that's when they really show up. So what
you saw in New York City, they have had a
massive guard. It was cool and I'm not underplaying it,
but that's the Lakers do that you are.
Speaker 4 (19:20):
But we appreciate how you are. Michael. Let's talk about
the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
Let's talk about what they when you're watching the Spurs,
when you saw that that series, the Western Conference Finals
with the Thunder and the Spurs, and then you look
at the Lakers. What do the Lakers need to do
this offseason to compete?
Speaker 6 (19:40):
We got to play better defense. Obviously, they got to
revamp their roster. I'm sure they'll bring Lebron back, Austin
Reaves will be back, but they got to get some
guys who on the wing, who can compete and defend
the way the Thunder and the Spurs defend. Now who
they are, we don't know. That's their their job to
put together those type of players, to bring them in.
But they got to bring in wing defenders who can
go out there and come beat on the defensive end
(20:01):
like the Spurs and the Thunder do. And you know,
even though I love the Spurs and the fact that
they're there and they're doing it, they wouldn't have been
in the finals since the Thunder with healthy.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
That's what That's what I said.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
I thought Jaylen Williams being out only playing fifty three
minutes or so that whole series was the difference.
Speaker 6 (20:15):
And don't forget aj Mitchell was he was the best
player against the Lakers in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
Well, you know, stay with Ethan and I were talking
about this, the Lakers. You could go Houston, you could
go Denver. I mean, there are a bunch of teams
who thought, oh man, we got a window. Now we
got some players. If you the Lakers, Okay, we got
we got Reeves and Luca And does everybody unnotice now, like, well,
we gave it a shot because this is the Spurs
and Thunders League for the next four or five years,
(20:41):
and maybe Boston does a right move and they're right
back in it. You know, obviously I love the Pistons
to be but I don't know if they're on this caliber.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
So is how do you.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Look at this if you're any other team and not
think it's the Spurs or Thunders to be had for
the next handful of years.
Speaker 6 (20:56):
Yeah, they're the standard. Obviously the next have them to
say about it because they're up two to one, right
and they in it this year, so they better win
it this year because this is the Thundery are gonna
the Spurs gonna learn from this experience and only get better.
Speaker 8 (21:07):
This thing.
Speaker 6 (21:07):
This this is the worst we're gonna see Harper Castle
and Wenby play this season. That's how much better they're
gonna be get year in and year out. So the
league is unnoticed. The championship maybe after this year, is
gonna have to go to San Antonio or Oklahoma City
for the next decade.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
Let me let me ask you this about the Knicks.
If the Knicks and the San Antonio comes back and
wins this series and and and San Antonio are the
NBA Champions. What do the Knicks do? Do they go
after Giannis? Do they make changes? What do you see
the Knicks doing if they do give up this lead
(21:43):
and lose the finals?
Speaker 8 (21:45):
Yeah, that's a great question. If they lose.
Speaker 6 (21:47):
If they win the finals, you bring the same guys
back next year. But you're right, if they blow this,
I will go ahead and get Giannis because you need
somebody who is not going to be afraid to compete
against Wenby, and Giannis will not back down against Webby.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
Yeah, we agree on that. He doesn't.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
He has that competitive edge that sometimes Carly Towns he disappears,
and that's kind of been the knock throughout his career
that you question where it is.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
I want to bring it back to the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
And by the way, Michael Thompson on with the I couple,
Kevin Washington, he for Salama to worship Wednesday.
Speaker 4 (22:16):
Where are we with lebron for you bring him back?
Time to move on?
Speaker 3 (22:20):
You know, I mean because a lot of people are
you know, Austin you gotta figure out what you're gonna
do with Austin Reeves. Where are you as far as
do you like the three? If you want to call
it headed monster and run it back and see what
you got. Or are you saying, hey, maybe it's trying
to just have two of the three. Whoever it may be.
Speaker 6 (22:34):
No, bring Lebron back, because when Luca and Austin Reeves
were healthy, Lebron was the third auction, so he was
able to pace himself and conserve a lot of energy
because he didn't have to worry about carrying the team
every night. He could let Luca and Austin Reeves carry
the heavy load and then Lebron would pick his spots.
So coming back at forty two years of age in December,
being the third the option on the team will help
(22:56):
preserve his energy and you know, making less stressful his body.
So I think coming back with.
Speaker 8 (23:01):
Weaves and Luca being No.
Speaker 6 (23:03):
Number one or two options is the better, better solution,
better situation for Lebron and going anywhere else.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
What and what do those contracts look like? Is Lebron
on a team friendly deal or is Austin Reeves on
the team friendly deal? Because if those two guys maximize
their their they're worth. We don't have any and I
say week because I'm all Lakers. We don't have any
room to add other pieces to that roster that we
(23:28):
desperately need.
Speaker 6 (23:30):
Yeah, I think Austin. Austin is the dude to make
forty eight man on a max meal forty eight man
a year. Lebron could obviously make a fifty something there,
but I think they both are going to take a
little bit less, a little bit less to make the
salaries structure work for the Lakers. How much less, I
don't know. Obviously Austin's going to get a huge raise,
Lebron might take a little take cut, but just still,
(23:51):
you know, maybe you'll have to try to survive on
thirty five to thirty seven man and one people.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
A hard life is hard, Michael, Yeah right, we'll get
you out of here on this one. Game four, we're
half full of minutes away from tip off. Who you
got in this one?
Speaker 6 (24:06):
I would be shocked if the Knicks loose tonight. This
is desperate desperation time for them, even though if they
lost will.
Speaker 7 (24:12):
Only be two two.
Speaker 6 (24:12):
But whoever wins this game tonight is going to win
the championship. The Knicks know they have to go back
to San Antonio up three one, and of course the
Spurs know if we lose tonight.
Speaker 8 (24:22):
I can't see.
Speaker 6 (24:22):
Them beating the Knicks here in Game six when it
comes down to that. So tonight I think it's the
Knicks are gonna be the more desperate team.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
All right, we'll have to wait and see. That's why
they play the games. Michael, Thank you man, thank you
for all the best.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
Of the family.
Speaker 6 (24:35):
All right, boys, good to talk to you.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
Absolutely one of.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
The best, right there, Michael Thompson, two times raid a
champ Lakers ready and listen.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
More importantly, I think you can attest just.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
A good dude man, great guy, hilarious, funny, good dude man,
great family.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
All right, on the way, one's gotta go. I want
to get your thought.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Not only are you know the sports and family man,
you love music too, So I think you'll enjoy we're
gonna do because they're getting ready. They just did a
few minutes ago the national anthem. That's a little clue.
I'll get one's gotta goes next to the.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
Coop hope, it's the whole anthem. Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (25:05):

Speaker 3 (25:18):
And when we get to the finals and not be
able to win finals MVP. I just don't want to
believe it. I don't want to watch you watch I
watched the game and I'm like, what's happening right now?
Speaker 4 (25:27):
You also watched him in college? I did. He was
never that kind of guy. He was just very fat guy.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
In the fact that Devinceenzo was the guy. By the way,
I was imber watching him combat.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
Who this is crazy. This dude is nice. He mixed.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
He is, by the way. If he's not, he is
handle hair lines. Somebody lied in the in the got
me I'm hell, I'm I'm I'm Irish, in British, I'm
French and something else. Yeah, everybody something well allegedly, but
he got I don't know.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
I believe him. Twenty three and me were black people.
I think they was just lying up.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
It was like, because I know we can't trace like
a lot of things that dark throwing darks and we're
gonna do some region in Africa and you're Ghanaian and Iran.
I'm Nigerian, Ghanaian and Irish just making stuff up?
Speaker 4 (26:20):
Say what now? Okay?
Speaker 3 (26:21):
I know good and well, but I can't believe I
was so I don't even want to talk about that.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
I was mad. I'm like, I don't trust none of
this for black people. We don't know, we don't know,
no one knows. My name is supposed to be not Washington.
I have to get all deep, all right.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Mike Hell on the other side, and I got to
ask Mike Hill something you were looking at it cause
we both got the same TVs. I saw you look
at something. I want to ask Mike Hill about's happening
in New York. Mike Hill new York. Nick fans spent
time obviously born in New York. Think he left Alabama,
but New York is home in his mind, and we'll
talk to him and just that's best man.
Speaker 4 (26:53):
All right, that's right, MANCI, but thank you so much.
I did text Georgie.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
I said, hey, the odd Couple's gonna call you because
Covin said, you're talking smack about Ephraim.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
That's exactly how you stick the scores. You're not coming
to news with me, You're gonna have somebody were trying
to have some integrity and accuracy and news, and you
text him as that.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
Ephraim said, you've been ghosting here, I'll say that I did.
Speaker 5 (27:18):
I did put laughing emoji so he knows.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
It's like who knows, but he ghosted me on business deal.
I'm gonna say, ghost it. Why you be ghosting people? Why?
Why that works?
Speaker 5 (27:26):
I'm gonna say why, why ghosts?
Speaker 4 (27:28):
Why you be ghosting guys?
Speaker 5 (27:30):
NBA Finals game is gonna start in about in hours
for trying to even the series from Madison Square Garden.
But the good news is is the tickets were went
way down on the secondary market. So instead of like
ten eleven, twelve thousand, eight, the thirty seven hundred okay,
according to Bleacher Report, about thirty seven hundred, two thousand
bucks to get your foot in.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
That's that that that dump truck worker that ups drive.
They still that's great. They can't afford were having to
watch party out front.
Speaker 5 (27:56):
Again, that's only one thousand people. So there is a
watch party, but it's being controlled by the NYPD. So
my understanding is a thousand people can go.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Well, we might get Mike Heal in a moment. I'll
explain why that is. They're acting a fool even.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
A little bit.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
They sure did they sure did?
Speaker 4 (28:13):
I am you know all in like you with the
T shirt, right.
Speaker 7 (28:16):
We in, we in.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
Listen, a lot of well are in. Yeah, a lot
of people are in.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Hold on.
Speaker 5 (28:22):
From an average of twenty three point eight million viewers
watched Game three of the NBA.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
Finals numbers eighteen of it isaw numbers.
Speaker 5 (28:31):
Yeah, the most for a game three since nineteen ninety eight.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
Okay, okay, the.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
Regular regular season, regular season. Brown's Carolina can't compare Apple, Apple, sir,
I'm just saying it's true.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Hey, you ain't and four. Yeah, I know you played
the NFL, but you you like basketball? I do? I
love that?
Speaker 8 (28:50):
All right?
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Then, all right, then quickly here guys.
Speaker 5 (28:53):
In NFL news, Patrick Mahomes is gonna make a lot
of money. No shocker there. He and the Chiefs have
extended his contract by two years. So his deal now
is five hundred and four point seven to five million,
and in twenty twenty seven, his average annual salary is
gonna be sixty four million. The most runny player in
NFL history. So congrats to you, Patrick Mahomes. In baseball, guys,
Philly's lead the Blue Jays right now one zero, top
(29:14):
of the second inning. Max Scherzer has reached thirty five
hundred strikeouts, eleventh picture to do.
Speaker 4 (29:20):
So back to you guys.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
Hall of Fame, right, oh, absolutely absolutely, first ballot.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
Yeah, the other ten guys are in the Hall of
Fame too, first ballot.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
Yeah he should be of course. There we have it, Monty,
thank you. Odd couple, Rob is out. We got Epherman
kelvin Washington on this worship Wednesday, joined by our guy
Mike Hill, Fox Sports One host New York.
Speaker 4 (29:41):
Necks super fan, Go New York, Good, New York Go?
Speaker 7 (29:44):
What up my game time? Baby, game mode? I'm focused
right now, Yoda and everything like that.
Speaker 8 (29:51):
Focus acting like.
Speaker 7 (29:53):
Jamie Fox situation for my Knicks to night.
Speaker 8 (29:56):
Why y'all bothering me? Right now?
Speaker 4 (29:59):
Hey, all right, we got to start here.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
We can get to dax'es and o's and what you
saw in game three or what you saw through the
first three games. I gotta ask you this, Can you
tell the Nick fans to relax? Why they beating up
people walking around with spurs Jersey on what's come home?
Speaker 7 (30:12):
I mean you know what, there's there's fans in there, fanatics, man,
then they're just damn pools and and the people that
did that the other night is just damn fools. There's
no place in sports or anywhere in society or anything
like that.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
Man.
Speaker 7 (30:24):
Like, I understand you love your.
Speaker 8 (30:25):
Team, you rap your team. I die for on my
team out.
Speaker 7 (30:28):
Go to the back of my team. But I'm not catching
a case for my team.
Speaker 8 (30:31):
I'm not exactly catching felony for my team. Man. That
is not.
Speaker 7 (30:34):
Showing your loyalty to a team because somebody's wearing a
Spurs jersey.
Speaker 8 (30:38):
How would you like it if you went.
Speaker 7 (30:39):
Down to San Antonio and a group of San antonia
s first.
Speaker 8 (30:41):
Start beat the hell out of you.
Speaker 7 (30:42):
Uh, that's that's that's.
Speaker 8 (30:43):
No way to conduct yourself.
Speaker 7 (30:45):
Man. Let's just go out there when I know the
city's gonna be crazy if they do win this championship.
It's been a long time. I can understand the anks,
I can understand the anxiety or whatever. Man, But let's
have fun and enjoy the Knicks having this remarkable season
and not destroy because a couple of fans, a couple
of stupid idiots out there are doing dumb things.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
So it's not a couple of thousands of people just
out of control.
Speaker 7 (31:10):
Yeah, well, you know they got eight nine million people
in New York if most some are New York fans, man,
So you know, I understand they are. It's dumb, you know,
I agree with you, man, And like I said, it's
like twenty of them got arrested, and there's maybe hundreds
of tens of thousands of people down there trying to
enjoy themselves. And then you get a group of just rowdy, stupid,
ignorant foods that just want to cause trouble and just
(31:30):
want to.
Speaker 8 (31:31):
Show their allegiance for the Orange and Blue maize.
Speaker 7 (31:33):
They're the main ones in screaming at Jalen Bruston for
having a bad game and in Game three or whatever whatnot.
But they want to beat up a Spurs fan victory,
But Yama Jersey walking down the street supporting and celebrating
his team in a big win. Now, am I going
to be somebody that's a Spurs fan and am I
gonna walk through a crowded Knicks fans? No? Probably not,
(31:54):
just like raid a nation. I understand they do certain
things like that in certain stadiums, but once again, there
is no play, not just in sports but in society
for something like that. So people just gotta be cool
and stop doing ignorant stuff.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
The bad thing about it is win or lose the Finals.
The Knick fans New York is gonna guitar. It's gonna
be a problem. Win or lose it's a rap. Okay, Yeah,
let's move on. Mike being a Knick fan. What did
you see? What did you see different from the Knicks
(32:28):
in the previous thirteen games to what they showed up
with in Game three of the Finals.
Speaker 8 (32:35):
I saw a totally different team. Man.
Speaker 7 (32:37):
It seemed like in the beginning and I know Spurs
is been on the first punch in the first couple
of games of the series, first two games of the series,
and Knicks are able to come back. I saw Nick
team felt like they could do the same thing in
Game three. I saw Knicks team that seemed like they
were more overwhelmed by the hype and the crowd than
the young Spurs were in that first game. I also
saw a Knicks team that on offense did not do
(32:58):
the things that they have become accustomed to over the
last thirteen games, that moved that ball so well. I
saw Jalen Brunton dribbling the ball for eighteen seconds and
then trying to get a shot off over to defenders
trying to create some of this stuff.
Speaker 8 (33:11):
I saw Jaylen Brunces I put.
Speaker 7 (33:13):
Game three, and I love Jalen. Don't get me wrong,
he is not having a series that he needs to
have to try and leave this team to his first championship.
Speaker 8 (33:19):
In over fifty years.
Speaker 7 (33:21):
I saw Jalen Brunton in my mind seeming like, okay,
I have not had the first two games. I want
to win the MVP of this this champions MVP teams,
and that is not what is going to help this
team win. This offense has to run the ball, hopefully
through Karl Anthony Towns, get him a little bit more ball.
Speaker 6 (33:41):
The fact that he had off.
Speaker 7 (33:42):
Game and Jalen Bronston was shooting you know, bricks and
throwing the ball up the way he was and dribbling
as much, let you know that the offense was in
the seam. Therefore, other players like Michel Bridges couldn't do
his thing offensively. Duce mcbrid who hasn't had a great
game so far in the in these finals, wasn't able
to get off you know, even the Landry shamm it
in his open threes where it's not knocking out when
(34:02):
the ball is moving around the perimeter like it has
been for the Knicks most previous thirteen games. That offense
seems unstoppable. And then on the defensive end of things, man,
they just weren't getting a round screens. They weren't fighting
through the screens like they usually do. Man, I didn't
see anything for mckel bridges, and I'm not trying to
put everything on them, but I understand he got two
early fouls in that game in Game three, but I
(34:24):
didn't see anything on the offensive end, and I damn
sure didn't see anything on the defensive end.
Speaker 8 (34:28):
That has got to stop.
Speaker 7 (34:30):
He and og Anaoba, I've said this from the beginning,
are the keys to the Knicks winning this series. You no,
cat's gonna get his eventually. We know Jalen's gonna get
his and show up when he needs to. But those
two guys, when they play well, and Josh teams to
play and beat the hard and told of the team,
the Knicks can win this championship. But those two got
to show up. Og showed them in Game three.
Speaker 8 (34:50):
Mckil bridges did not.
Speaker 3 (34:51):
Let me go here. Of course, Mike, I love that take.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
I ain't like it. I said, well, I don't feel
like we're Haashita.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
But you you just said the point of him about
that MVP love, and maybe Jayden was feeling some type
of way. I don't want to buy it. I just
don't think he's that type of guy. I thought it
was more personal because they were throwing them all over
the Dagon court and he just was like, I'm.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
Gonna prove it to them.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
Let me go here, Mike Heill onm with the Odd Couple,
Kelvin Washington, Ef salam In for Rob on this worship Wednesday.
I'm gonna go to the other side of this, and
this is with the Spurs. You've been covering hoops, watching
hoops your whole life, like us. I don't know if
I can think of it, and the thunder would be
the only answer if I had to think of somebody
a team this young, that is almost this young and
(35:36):
dumb and believe they can win it. Like technically, you're like,
no way, you're not supposed to win this. But they're
twenty two, twenty one, twenty When you're looking at their
best players, obviously Darren Darren Fox at twenty eight, but
this young squad has a nerve to be in the finals.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
And making it a series. Have you seen anything quite
like this?
Speaker 8 (35:51):
No.
Speaker 7 (35:52):
I mean you've brought up the thunder from last year
being a young team, and they had that togetheredness and
it was almost like, hey, with in Oklahoma City, we
have nothing else to do. We might as well be
friends and family and sing on the basketball court and
win a championship.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
But the difference, real quick, Mike, the difference, real quick
is that Sea at that time is like twenty six
twenty seven. You had Hartenstein who was starting, he's twenty eight.
Like they got at least some guys that were your
best players older, your best players twenty two and win
the first playoff.
Speaker 7 (36:16):
Go yeah, and most of their best players are under
twenty five years old. Were talking about what Dylan Harper's
been able to do.
Speaker 8 (36:21):
We talk about what.
Speaker 7 (36:23):
You know, You talk about Winby, You talk about all
the players that are really stepping up right now for
that basketball team. Of course, you talking about Stephan castle Man,
who's been unbelievable in this series of most of the court.
You talk about that core three right there alone. Man
has been incredible, And like you said, they're not afraid, man,
I don't see any fear in their eyes. And Apram
(36:43):
can speak on this more so than anything. As a
forman athlete, man, there is an intangible man that comes
along with being an athlete. You're gonna have all the
skills set in the world, man, but if you don't
have their heart to go along with it, man, you're
not gonna be the great player that you can bet.
These guys, that core group of guys, they have the
heart and so when they got a nastiness to him
and they got a will. The fact that Stefan Castle says,
(37:04):
I expect in his second season, I expect to win
the next three. I expect even after they beat us
the first two games at home, I expect us to
come in there and win four straight. That is what
you want to hear out of players like that. I
even though Wimby has done some you know, some kind
of thirty stuff here and there, like marginal stuff whatever,
throwing Jalen Brunce to, I like the nastiness that he
(37:26):
plays with.
Speaker 8 (37:27):
I would like to see.
Speaker 7 (37:28):
The Knicks come out with that same kind of fire,
that same kind of energy, that same kind of heart,
that same kind of fight to make to protect their
home court. Because once again I.
Speaker 8 (37:38):
Believe he's gonna win the series.
Speaker 7 (37:39):
So yet to answer the question, Kevin, I'm not. I've
not seen anybody, for any team deng play this well,
with this type of tenacity, with this type of focus,
with this type of attitude, and man, look, if the
Knicks don't get it this year, if this first team
and this course sticks together, oh it's gonna be a
long time. And anybody can say that they're gonna have one.
Speaker 8 (38:00):
On uh in the NBA because it's the Spurs era.
Speaker 7 (38:03):
Man, as long as they stay healthy and they stay
together and don't go off and get their edge, this
is gonna get long.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
Right, We're gonna we'renna end it here, big dogs. We're
starting to break up a little bit at the end.
But hey, we got you.
Speaker 8 (38:16):
Man.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
We appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
I know for you as go New York, Go, New
York go, We'll have to wait and see about an
hour away from a tip off a game four.
Speaker 4 (38:22):
Appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
That boy from best in my Alabama. I don't want
nothing about know Nicks. He still reps in New York,
