You're listening to the Best of the Odd Couple.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
Super Bowl rematch between the Seahawks and the Patriots. Me
and Calvin, of course, both picked Seattle in that game.
Rob picked New England, but that's neither here nor there.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
No, I did not pick. Are you kidding? Can you
check my... The Super Bowl game? We have it on video,
on wax, of you picking the New England Patriots. What
are you talking about? For tonight's game? No, he's saying
for last year.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Oh, oh.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
But in any event, yes.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
I have them not making the playoffs this year, and
you got me picking them.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Oh, that's a tease for hour two in Rob's NFL predictions. Oh, yeah.
When is that? 5 o'clock. 8 p.m. Eastern. But, yes,
it is a big game tonight. Drake May is playing.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
He, of course, came one vote shy of winning the
MVP last season. And ESPN and The Athletic all surveyed
a bunch of executive scouts, coaches on the upcoming season.
And in one of the anonymous polls, this one coming
to The Athletic, they asked, which quarterback on a rookie
deal would you rather have for this season? Not moving
(01:26):
forward just this season. Who's the guy you like the most?
In a runaway of 20 votes, getting 12 of them,
Drake May way past Kayla Williams.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Kayla only got five. Everyone else only got one.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
They're telling you without telling you, Drake May, not Kayla Williams,
is the young QB you want.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
And they're not wrong. And it's close.
Speaker 5 (01:47):
Me and you were talking about it, Rob G., going
over the show, and it is close. I understand the
allure of Caleb Williams. Since he's been probably 10, 12
years old, he has been fantastic. Goes to Oklahoma, comes
to USC, wins a Heisman. He's been all of that.
But if you make me have to pick, then I'm
picking Drake May for a couple of different reasons. Listen,
(02:07):
when you play the quarterback position, one of the most
important things is accuracy. And you're talking about a guy
in Drake May, 72% completion percentage last year.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Caleb's was at 58.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
That sounds like somebody's age, not somebody's completion percentage. And
then you go to touchdowns, of course. Both of them
protected the ball pretty well. Eight for Drake May, seven
for Caleb. But then I'm also going to, again, the touchdowns.
You're looking at 31% versus 27 for Caleb, 31 for Drake.
And also what's interesting is the rushing yards. Drake May
(02:40):
is big, fast as well. He got you 450, four touchdowns,
and then Caleb around 380 as well. So I'm looking
at this as I think he's in a better division
to continue to be good, Rob, because we know Tom
Brady took full advantage of being in the AFC least
because he got to beat up on the Dolphins and
he got to beat up on the Jets a couple
times a year. And that's the same thing Drake May
(03:01):
every single year should be able to do is beat
up on those two teams. and continue to dominate and
have a chance to have good numbers as well as
a chance to get into the postseason. And also, I
think Caleb Williams, again, we talked about this with the Chiefs,
talked about the Lions a couple years ago, benefiting from
those last-minute drives or those last-minute touchdowns where now, of course,
you look maybe better than you are. We ignore the
(03:22):
way you play for three quarters or three and a
half quarters. And again, he is an incredible talent who
I think should take a step up.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
He should.
Speaker 5 (03:29):
But if you're making me pick between the two, and
I think Drake May's team is going to have a
tougher go because the schedule is going to be heavier
and more difficult. But Drake May should be the better
quarterback again this year. And lastly, when your own quarterback,
I mean, your own coach had some issues with you
throughout the season. That also screens volumes to me where
(03:49):
Ben Johnson was disappointed oftentimes at the decision-making, at the turnovers,
or at, again, the completion percentage and how low it was.
So if you're asking, yes, if you're asking who has
spectacular throws at the one to two throws a game, Caleb.
But if I'm going to full fourth quarters and it's
my little hair on my chinny-chin-chin, give me Drake May, Rob.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
And I know. You disagree.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
I don't think you even watch the games because I'm
going to tell you this. I'm dead serious when I
say this. Drake May, and you just talk, everything you
talked about doesn't make any sense. He plays against the
Jets twice a year. He plays against Miami. They beat
one team over 500 last year. And you're going to
talk about freaking completion percentage as the reason you would
(04:33):
pick somebody when he's beating teams that aren't any good. No,
let me make my statement. And then you're talking about
all this other thing. Well, you know, if it's just one– yeah,
if you need a throw to win the game, yeah,
then maybe I would take Caleb.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
That's what it's all about. It ain't about the stats.
It's about winning games.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
You can't teach what Caleb Williams has done.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
You can't teach it.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
You can get somebody– you can help people with their
form and do all this other stuff. People don't– aren't able–
to perform in those pressure situations. That's why people always
talk about clutch genes. That's why certain people can't do it.
That's why they fold in those situations. And the perfect
example for this guy who you're so high on, when
(05:18):
they got to the playoffs and they.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Played the better teams, he had a negative.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
41 score.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Point two, EPA, the worst playoff number. It was terrible
against the best. He was pressured 19 times. He threw
10 times off target, which was a career high. Sacked
six times, a career high. Committed three turnovers.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
You ready?
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Negative 41.2 pass EPA. That's the worst playoff pass EPA
in next generation stats era.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
The other guys who were terrible since 2000? Are you ready?
Rex Grossman, Rich Gannett, Cary Collins. That's the guy? Come on, man.
You're not— you' re.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Being— you just admit it. You're a Lions fan. You hate
Caleb Williams for whatever reason it is. And I would
respect you to just say that. To say that Caleb Williams,
because his percentage— Completion percentage is lower.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Explain the postseason. You always rip on Lamar. Well, you
got to get it done in the postseason. Wait, I
always rip on Lamar? Yeah, about the postseason. So I'm
asking you, tell me, explain your postseason. Wait, I'm glad
you asked. Explain the postseason for me.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
A year after year and say is the best player
in the NFL is Lamar Jackson. Now I'm talking about
the postseason. Yeah, because the postseason numbers matter, don't they?
Speaker 2 (06:38):
So what? That minus 41? Right. And the guy that
got to a Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
And you're acting as if the same guy, you, who
sit up here and yell to the heavens every single
day about the Chiefs and they can't get lucky this
year every year.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
And you said it. And I'll give you credit. You
were right.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
The same thing can apply to Caleb Williams. Him pulling
it out at the very last second, he did it
seven times last year. What if he goes two for five,
one for six, all for seven? Because the Chiefs didn't
do it. So you expect what I'm saying is a
guy who is doing nothing many games. No, but I'm
asking you about Drake May and the weak competition he
(07:15):
faces during the regular season.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
That's what I'm talking about. And I'm answering.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
Drake may absolutely only beat who was in front of him.
I don't disagree with that. We both said that during our–
They didn't play anybody. The Giants won't beat more teams
over 500. The Giants. But you also don't have to
be good or great in those games. We have seen
people play lesser competition and play down to their competition.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
He did not.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
And when he got into the postseason, if offensive line
let him down– And he wasn't great.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
I'm fully with you.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
It was the offensive line. It's only their fault, right?
I didn't say it was only their fault. I'm answering
your question. So what I'm saying is, Kayla, and the
funniest part is, you keep bringing up the Lions. You
are entirely more obsessed with the Lions than me, and
it's not even close.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
No, you're not. You pick the Lions every year. Stop it. Stop.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Stop. You're a Lions fan. You come in here with
a Lions hoodie and a hat. You're a Lions fan.
Just admit it. Can you admit it?
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Can you admit it? Are you a Lions fan, yes
or no? I'm not even going to answer that. Are
you a Lions fan? No, I'm not. Okay, yes you are.
Everybody in the world knows I'm a Lions fan. You
can't even be honest with yourself. Rob Parker. That is
the biggest duh in the world. Every single person knows
I'm a Lions fan.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Anything you say about the Lions or the NFC North,
I can't buy into. Then that's your own fault. I
can't buy into.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
That's your own fault. Because it's always based around the
Lions and whether or not what you want them to do.
So Caleb Williams looking bad. for three and a half
quarters in several games. It doesn't matter. It's about wins
and losses. Stop it.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Stop.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Look how obsessed you get. It's about wins and losses.
This is what I'm talking about. What is it about?
Speaker 5 (08:37):
You're obsessed.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
It ain't about percentages. Stop it. It's all BS. You
are obsessed with Caleb Williams. You're talking about stats that
don't matter. It's about wins and losses.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
His own coach.
Speaker 5 (08:46):
You think people, when he threw a game, when he
touched went, oh, well, too bad he didn't throw for 70%
completion rate. Bears fans are saying, why do we keep
being in this position? That's exactly what they were saying.
Bears fans were saying, can.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
We just beat somebody?
Speaker 5 (08:58):
You can't blame it all on him. Stop it. I'm
blaming on Caleb what Caleb did or didn't do. Caleb
Williams is incredibly talented. I'd like to sit here and
hear this all football season.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
I got to hear this. You do. I don't understand
what you're obsessed about. It's so ridiculous. So let me
ask you this. So whoever, name the sport. I don't
care if it's Pitt.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
We got baseball on right now. we're not allowed to say, man,
somebody can get better next season?
Speaker 2 (09:21):
No, no. That's a raw part.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
God forbid somebody say, wow, Taylor Williams is crazy talented
and I want him to put it together next year.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
It's ridiculous for the year that Caleb had last year.
His year wasn't great. The only thing you.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Talk about, it's about winning games. Don't tell me it
wasn't great. The Lions were supposed to win the division.
Were the Lions supposed to win the division? Obsession with
the Lions. Were the Bears supposed to win the division?
Speaker 2 (09:43):
I'm asking you. Who was supposed to win the division
last year? So, Wait. Who was supposed to win the division?
I don't know who was supposed to win the division.
All right, you don't know now.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
Wait, when Michael Parsons got there, wasn't it supposed to
be the Packers?
Speaker 2 (09:53):
The team that was 15-2. It wasn't supposed to be
the Packers? I just don't know. And then it's wins
and losses, but it's not wins for Drake May. Yeah.
for Caleb. It depends on who you're beating. It depends
on who you're beating.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
I've always said that. I said it about the Chiefs. No,
I don't. You cherry pick. I say it all the time.
Just like you cherry pick Caleb.
Speaker 5 (10:12):
The guy who has a history winning Super Bowls and
Patrick Mahomes gets no grace for anything.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
But Caleb, who has done anything, throw a 4,000 yards.
Bears still haven't had a quarterback throw a 4,000 yards.
Who cares about that number? What does that mean?
Speaker 5 (10:22):
Do you know what that means? They used to run
the football. They were the monsters of the Midwest. They
were in the football. I'm talking about Caleb. You're talking
about they still throw a 4,000 yards. I'm talking about Caleb.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
That was for a reason, though. I'm talking about Caleb.
That was for a reason. They ran the football at
the Bears. I'm talking about Caleb. All right, let's go.
877-99 on Fox. You are obsessed with Caleb. No, you are.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
Yes, you are.

2026 predictions. Football is back. Oh, yeah. Hit me with a, oh, yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
All right, Rob G. That's right.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
The official Odd Couple 2026 NFL predictions.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
We do it this time every year. Two men enter.
One man will win.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
We're going to find out who knows ball and who
only claims to know ball. We're going to pick division
winners up and down the NFL. We're going to finish
it off with the Super Bowl. And we're going to get.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Started with AFC East.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
The AFC East, the New England Patriots defending AFC champions.
Will they repeat as division champs in 2026?
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Kelvin Washington. No. They'll have a good season.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
I think they'll be down from last year because what
I do agree with Rob is that they had a
much easier schedule. It'll be tougher. They'll be a better team,
but not as many wins. And I think I'm giving
that to the Bills.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Rob, what you got? Who you got? Same.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
I got the Bills. I think the Patriots are not
going to make the playoffs. I know we're not doing
all that, but you know my picks last year. Remember
when I told you guys what was happening?
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
And I got about 12 right. I'm on that same
exact standing. So no, I do not think it will
be the New England Patriots.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Cappy.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Next up, AFC North.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
The AFC North.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
Rob Parker's Pittsburgh Steelers helped him win the Odd Couple
Bowl last season.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
On a shanked field goal by the Baltimore Ravens. Is
Aaron Rodgers getting it done once again, Rob Parker?
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Aaron Rodgers had some beautiful balls.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
He does.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Not to win a division. A lot of people like
the Steelers and their team. I've seen a lot of...
Love for the Steelers. I don't think there's any real, like,
bohemians in the AFC. So I can see why a
lot of people like this team, like this team. There's not, like,
a clear cut. I've seen it, but I'm not there.
They can make the playoffs behind the Ravens, but I
got the Ravens. Now that John Harbaugh's gone, I like
(13:32):
the Ravens.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Two for two. Got the Ravens.
Speaker 5 (13:34):
I think the Bengals should be obviously better. Obviously, Joe
Burrow's health. You mentioned, I think the Steelers would be
right about the same, maybe minus a game or so.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
But I think the Ravens, biggity bounce back.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
Speaking of Joe Burrow, I got some Joe Burrow conversation
coming up top of hour three.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
You want to stick around for that one? Hey, you
love Joe Burrow. I was about to say, I've been
on now for two years. When did Joe Burrow, like,
you used to really bring him up and like him
a lot?
Speaker 1 (13:59):
No, but I think that some of the stuff people
are saying is just unrealistic. That's what I'm saying. Like,
Joe Burrow's a good quarterback. He got him to a
Super Bowl. I've always praised him for that.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
That's what I'm saying. You usually be with Burrow. But
I don't like the team. I just don't like the team.
And we'll get into that. We'll get into that. We'll
get into that. All right, keep it moving. You got
to wait. You can't, man.
Speaker 5 (14:19):
Aaron Judge is up. Don't disrespect right now, son. Has
he gotten a hit or touched a ball since he
came back? Oh, man, that dude's terrible.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
He sucks. Him and Otani. I wasn't going to bring
it up. He missed two and a half months. The
worst faces of baseball, let me tell you. I wasn't
going to bring it up. Them 6'5, 6'7, guys. Go
play basketball. That's right. Sticking to the AFC, but now
with the... AFC South. AFC South.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
The Jacksonville Jaguars stole that division last season, winning eight
straight to close out the regular season.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Duvall! Can they do it again, Dub?
Speaker 5 (14:48):
No.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
The Texans. The Texans. In fact, I think they're going
to be really freaking good. How good?
Speaker 5 (14:56):
You might be surprised. I think Judge just got a hit.
He finally got a hit.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Okay. There we do. He could have been a tight
end in the AFC South. Wow. Rob did not hear
anything you said about the AFC South right there. He
said something about, you get your gas in Texaco. What'd
you say? Hey, what'd I say, Rob? I said he
was in Texas. I think it's his first hit since
he came back. That's all. I was just trying to see.
All right, here we go.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
No. I think C.J. Stroud holds that team back. And
I'm going to go with Jacksonville again. I know their
defense is tremendous.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Duval! The quarterbacking has only gone backwards. What if he's
just mid? He ain't even great. It's gone backwards every year.
That's all I'm saying. I like the Texans. But listen,
you and you both have agreed on C.J. Stroud.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
And with money on the line sometimes, it might force
you into doing stuff that you shouldn't be doing because
you know that Hey, yo! There's some money involved.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
There does, yeah. We've all done things when I used
to do it for a little bit of money, Rob.
I'm talking about money here. Yeah. Robert Kraft.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Jed York.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Rob Parker. No, no, no. Don't put me in that case.
You ain't deny it last time. There's a lot of
stuff I'm doing, but I ain't doing it. There's a
lot of stuff I'm doing. I'll do some stuff. I
ain't doing that. I'd be doing it. I'd throw it
a line. Hand me a pen.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
I'm not going to be in handcuffs because I'm going
to a lady of the night.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
That ain't happening. I'm a woman! I pay for it
above board like the rest of y'all. All right, here
we go.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
So you act like the billionaire, but the billionaires act
like what they think you're supposed to be doing.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
That's right. It's called a dinner date. That's all it is.
That's it. That's it.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
All right.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
So many jokes. Last division in the AFC would be.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
AFC West.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
The Denver Broncos cleaned up in one score games last year, 11-2,
winning by the skin of their teeth.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
Can Sean Payton and the fellas do it again? Rob Parker.
It's a tough one, ain't it? Yeah, it's tough because
I'm not into the Chargers. Go Chargers! I'm really not.
Go Chargers!
Speaker 1 (16:49):
But Denver and Bo Nix, I'm going to say that
they can't repeat what they did last year.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
And begrudgingly, I'm going to pick the Chargers. You know,
there's another team you could have said. No, I'm not
picking that seed. I'm not. Tyreek Hill could have been there.
Speaker 5 (17:04):
It could have been like 2017. Travis Kelsey, he still
would have said he was like, no. I'm going with
actually the Broncos. I think the Chiefs will be better,
but I don't think they'll edge out the Broncos. I
think the Broncos should be good. That defense is scary.
We talked about it last year. They should be about
the same, if not maybe even better. Bo Nix will
be fine. I don't think he'll be quite as great
as maybe other people do. But I think the Broncos.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
But the Chargers, too. I get that. A lot of
people think it might be an L.A., L.A. Super Bowl.
That's right.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
Denver, Houston, and Seattle widely regarded as the best defenses
in football. That's the reason people like them.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Switching over to the NFC. We'll start with the.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
NFC East.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
The NFC East. The Philadelphia Eagles. A lot of changeover.
Lost to A.J.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Brown.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
Lost their play caller. Can Jalen Hurts win that division?
Speaker 2 (17:48):
One more time.
Speaker 6 (17:49):
Dub.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
No.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
They'll be good.
Speaker 5 (17:51):
They're one of those teams that are always going to
win 10, 11 games. And I expect it to be.
I can't believe.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
It's the Cowboys.
Speaker 5 (17:57):
Something going on. I think it's the Cowboys. Their offense
will be explosive. Talk to me when the playoffs get there,
but if you're just saying regular season, I think the
Cowboys got it.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
I'm going back with Philadelphia. All they've done is win.
There's no reason for me to believe that.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
And Jalen Hurts, for all the slander against him, all
I've seen this guy do is win games. And he's
winning games at a 78% clip.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Or whatever it is. He ain't crying Lamar, but he's
up there. He's up there. It's pretty high. I'm going
with the Philadelphia Eagles. All right, we keep it pushing
in the NFC with the.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
NFC North.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
Oh, this is the one we all wanted to talk about.
This is the one that's going to separate the men
from the boys. This is the one that's going to
cause fights in the studio.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
You already know. I already know what he's picking. Caleb Williams.
Speaker 5 (18:43):
You don't know where I'm going. And I know where
you're going. And the one-score Bears. You ain't going Vikings.
Speaker 4 (18:48):
Found a way to get it done last season in
what was easily the best division in football. Might be
again this year, too, by the way. Every team is
expecting to win the division.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
Yeah. But who will get it done, Rob Parker? The
Chicago Bears only improved from last year.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Caleb gets better. Another year with Ben Johnson. I'd love
to see this. And I'll give you a little caveat.
The Lions will not, N-O-T, make the playoffs for a
second year.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
And then I saw his toss. His toss is crazy.
I'm a believer. And not a trace. I believe, I believe,
I believe, I believe.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
All right.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
I'm in love with Kayla.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
I'm a believer.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
I couldn't leave him if I tried.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
Uh, I think the bears will be good. The Packers
will be good.
Speaker 5 (19:43):
And I think to your point, Rob G, the division
is going to be the best in football again with
the AFC West sitting right there. Uh, obviously the NFC
West too. But I'm going Lions. They bounce back.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
They're 11-6. They're 11-6.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
I like how both of y'all said on the talkback
what I tell you. Y'all are just some of the
most predictable, consistent people in the world.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
The best part about it, Raji, is he's over here
talking about terrible homerun. I'm like, we knew you were
picking Caleb. No, you didn't know that. Who in here
didn't know he was picking Caleb? He's the one black
quarterback he likes. Him and Lamar. You out on Lamar now?
I'm not out on Lamar. You moved on? It's just
those two. That's it, right? Did you tell Lamar it's
not you, it's me? Is that what you did?
Speaker 1 (20:26):
All I know is I call it like I see it.
And the Yankees just hit a grand slam home run.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
That's all right. I didn't even look. Go Yankees.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Where we at?
Speaker 2 (20:34):
It was George Lombard Jr. with the granny. They don't
have a thing they do, Rob. Very nice, Alex. All right,
next up is.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
NFC South.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
This division is terrible. All the teams suck. First team
to eight wins is probably going to take the division.
Last year, it was none other than the Carolina Panthers.
Who's it going to be this year?
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Rob Parker.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
You know, I love Tampa Bay because I'm a Baker
Mayfield guy.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Not Rob G. I'm just going to... This is going
to be... I'm going to throw this up in the air.
They're the same size. Yes, indeed. I'm going to take
the New Orleans Saints as a shot. Wow, worst to
first in New Orleans. A lot of people are big
on the Saints. I'm serious.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
As one of those, like, every year some team comes
out of nowhere, and then they just win.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
I'm going to go with the Saints. And that division's terrible,
so anybody can take it.
Speaker 5 (21:28):
That's why I'm going with the Panthers, to just edge
out the Bucs. I think the Panthers might be up
to something. I think they're going to take that little
bit of momentum they had last year. They played against
the Rams. Well, a couple of the two times they
played them. So, but to your point, it literally can
be anybody, but I'm going with the pen. I just
think they find a way to, and it won't be
a great record. It'd be like nine and eight and
(21:49):
win the division. Last but not.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Least, NFC West.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks won the division
last year, won the Super Bowl last year. Problem is
the favorites are the Los Angeles Rams, and they're in
the same division. Who gets it done this year?
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Kelvin Washington.
Speaker 5 (22:10):
Rams, I'm just going to have to do it. This
is another great division. Seahawks got to be sitting here like, Kelvin,
how can you and so many other people disrespect me,
and I expect them to be good again, but I
just think the Rams, not with Myles Garrett, and McDuffie
as well, defensively, those little holes they had, because I
talked about that a lot. That second half of that season,
defense for the Rams was not great. They've tightened that up.
You know the offense is going to produce, so I
(22:32):
think the Rams eke it out. Seahawks right on their heels.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
I got the Rams and the Seahawks not making the
playoffs this year.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
So I'm going to have both teams that made the
Super Bowl not make the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
No, you mean the Patriots and the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Right.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
You said the Rams and the Seahawks. Oh, no, no. Patriots. Oh, okay.
That's what I was like. I was like, all right,
this is getting crazy. No, no, no, no, no. I meant,
you know, from last year. Yes. Okay, you said the Rams.
I got Rams winning the division. Okay, all right. I
said Rams. That would have been the headline. Yeah, I
was like, wait a minute, wait a minute. I'm not
that great. That would have been Elijah, HRU, put that
up immediately.
Speaker 5 (23:08):
I was going to say, I'll give you the pass
because they didn't have a great, you know, schedule last year.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
They're playing some weak teams. You'd be like, Elijah, put
that Mai Tai down and get on the– He is
my tight end.
Speaker 5 (23:19):
Let me tell you, Elijah ain't going to have no staycation.
Elijah is going to go have some fun.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
In the sun somewhere. I ain't mad at that. He
needs it.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
I think they live life the right way. I'm very,
I think Elijah's life.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Work hard, play hard. I love it. They do. He
works really hard. No one out of that. But they're
always somewhere taking pictures of these great places and experience
so many things. And he takes great pictures so it
looks even better. He does. I hate it. I know.
You see some of that stuff. Everything he does, I'm like,
this looks awesome. Thank God for my wife. Because it
would be terrible if I took all the pictures.
Speaker 5 (23:51):
He does great. Have you followed him on Instagram? I do.
First of all, Instagram showed me eight people. That's all
they do now. Alex, I know you feel me.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
That's all they do. And then you know what they'll do?
I ain't on the gram.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
They'll say, well, it's because you engage with these eight.
That's because that's all you show me. I got to
go scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll to see brand new people
that I chose to follow and I never see.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
AI, man.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
All right, we got the division chance, but now the
moment we've all been waiting for.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
Hit us with the Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
Rob, as the defending odd couple bowl champion, we'll let
you go first.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Who do you got and why?
Speaker 1 (24:31):
I got the Baltimore Ravens against the Chicago Bears. Your
favorite two quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
Yeah, you got the two.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
And the Ravens get it done finally. Lamar wins a
Super Bowl. And there's my pick.
Speaker 5 (24:54):
I'm not mad. You know, I would love for LeBron
to get one. However, and I thought about it. I
went with him last year. I'm going Rams-Bills.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
Two guys.
Speaker 5 (25:03):
Last two MVPs. Josh Allen finally gets there but loses
to the Rams. And Matthew Stafford walks off and says,
Ty Simpson, here you go, player.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
I'm out.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
And cements his status as the top 10 quarterback in
NFL history.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Top 10? Shout out.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Can't wait till they lose in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
There it is.
Speaker 4 (25:25):
The Odd Couple. 2026 NFL preseason predictions.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Who was right last year a lot?
Speaker 4 (25:31):
Well, you won the Odd Couple game because of the Steelers.
But then you lost the actual Super Bowl because of
the Patriots.
Speaker 5 (25:38):
You be losing a lot. I just don't be yelling. No,
I don't be losing a lot. We got a video
last year.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
I don't be losing a lot. You do be losing
a lot.
Speaker 3 (25:46):

Speaker 2 (25:58):
I spoke a smidge too soon, guys.
Speaker 6 (26:00):
I mentioned to you that Sam Darnold took a hard
sack and was limping out to the sideline. He went
into the medical blue tent and came out limping again.
So Drew Locke is currently in the game for Seattle.
So an apparent leg injury for quarterback Sam Darnold.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
Yeah, it looked like somebody. Go ahead, Alex.
Speaker 5 (26:19):
Rob Parker. Who said the Seattle Seahawks won't make the playoffs?
Rob Parker. I'm not celebrating his injury. I'm just telling
you this is why you play the game.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
It's broke. You never know how things are going to
shake out.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
So when you say I'm crazy to say that the
Seahawks might not make the playoffs, you think everything's going
to go the way it went last year. That is
my point. That's all I'm saying. I'm not celebrating him
not playing.
Speaker 2 (26:46):
But this is football. It does look like it, though.
It does look like it. Nine minutes into the new season. Yeah.
Nine minutes into the new season. It's a little, it's
a little, what if he comes back in the second half?
I'm just saying. I'm saying, let's just hear what it
is first. If they say he done tore his ACL,
I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
No, my point is, it ain't, what happened last, it's
not always the same. And what, like last year he
was able to play and didn't have any situations.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
I'm just saying you never know.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
And here you are nine minutes in and already you're
going to your backup quarterback.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
I'm just saying.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
I'm not going to lie. It looked like he was
mad excited that he was hurt.
Speaker 6 (27:22):
No.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
I know you ain't saying you wouldn't hurt, but that's
what it looked like. You missed the point. No, but
that's what it was. You put on the celebration music.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
Yeah, the celebration music was, I'm telling you that they
weren't going to be, they're not going to be able to.
Speaker 5 (27:35):
Repeat what they did last year. And we don't know
what it, like, I can't, obviously we can't hear it.
We don't have, so I don't know what they're saying.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
You think they're taking a quarterback out of the game
just for the heck of it?
Speaker 5 (27:45):
No, I'm saying, what if they go in there, tape
him up, give him a little, what's the cortisone shot
or whatever, shoot his ankle up and he's toured out
and he's back out there.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
We can't hear it. So I don't know what they're saying.
Rob G, you understand what I'm trying to say. I
don't think he does. Yes, he does.
Speaker 4 (27:58):
No, I understand exactly what you're saying, but I will
say that the theme song was a little extra. As
soon as I heard Alex get my music.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
That's crazy. I knew that something was coming. I just
didn't know what. We don't even know what it is
right now. That's a little crazy. All I'm saying to
you is.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
But also, Rob, that literally can happen. Aaron Rodgers excited
to be a Jet. Four plays in.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
That's my point. And that's why I'm telling you about
Aaron Donald.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
But I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
It's the same exact thing. Same exact thing. You have
the Ravens in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (28:26):
What if this is Lamar in a few days? But
that's what I'm saying. We can do this with anything. No,
but my point is what they did last year, my
point is that they can't duplicate it. I'm telling you
they will not be able to duplicate it. So why
do you pick the Ravens every year? Because they're going
to duplicate winning? No, because they didn't win. Four or
(28:47):
five years in a row, they were really good. 12 games,
13 games. No, the difference is they didn't win, and
I kept saying they're too good not to win.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
Seattle was a pick out of nowhere last year. Out
of nowhere, nobody picked Seattle. And that was a fluke.
It came out of nowhere. They won the Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (29:03):
That's different from a team loaded with an MVP quarterback
year after year playing at that level and not winning.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
That's different. I'm just saying it's a little early.
Speaker 5 (29:13):
Like, if he's only out of game or two, I
needed to see at the bottom, out for season the
way you did. You gave us the theme song, Rob!
That's out for season stuff. He's back in the second quarter.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
Last year... Go check my NFL picks. Do I have
to get Spot to put them up last year? Just
go check them. I've been covering the NFL.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Look at me.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Oh, football is back.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
I've been covering the NFL since 1987. Don't doubt me
when I tell you. Do not doubt me. Do not
doubt me.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Rob.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
I'm not here wearing a Lions hoodie and I'm laying
on the couch with my buddy.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
But you got on Yankees underwear.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
I covered Lawrence Taylor. I covered Bill Parcells. I was there.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
They're retired already, like you tell everybody else. Bailey Sanders,
I was there. Don't listen to these guys who have
never been to.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
An NFL game in a press box.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
Was that you? Don't listen to those guys. Are you done?
