Say my name Rob Parker, say his name Kelvin Washington
saying we are indeed the Odd Couple right here on
Fox Sports Radio on a trash talking Tuesday. That's right,
and guess what, you'll need our phone number because we are,
without question, the most listener friendly national sports talk radio
(01:35):
show on the planet. Ben now, at least when people
are still awake. Sorry about that Ben. I'm just saying,
all right, write it down, committed to memory eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox for you layman out there
can't figure out a letter and the numbers combo and
that kind of stuff. Eight seven seven nine nine six
(01:55):
sixty three sixty nine. And if you hear feedback going
line when you do call in, it's your own fault.
It means only one thing.
Speaker 6 (02:04):
You forgot to turn down the radio.

You remember that that moment right there, Well they didn't
get my man is the perfect game?
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Yes, that was the terrible game by the Empire, right,
theah awful, awful, Sorry, my big thing is that was
June second, twenty ten in Detroit.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
That's why they're showing it today.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
The problem with it is if you're the umpire, it's
real simple and you're at first base before the battle
comes up with two outs and a chance out a
perfect game, you have to say to yourself, Kelvin, it's
real simple. Bang bang play, he's out, and you don't
(03:16):
get it, Bang bang play, he's out. No one's gonna
argue with you. You're in Detroit, a bang bang player,
first base, no replay?
Speaker 5 (03:28):
Do you get me? Like, but you have to go
in with.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
That because I don't know how you'd rather first base
and not think that you'd rather bang bang it.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Yeah, we had been slightly off then, epic history.
Speaker 5 (03:40):
We gotta make documentaries about it.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
How often Jim Joyce has to live with that like that,
like his whole career, Like it's always gonna be when
they do its obituary, like like that's in the second paragraph.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Anyway, it was it sixteen years ago today. That's why
they're showing it, bang bang.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
No doubt. All right, Uh it is the couple And ma'am,
what a show we out for you on Trash Talking Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (04:10):

Speaker 5 (04:16):
Ye comes down trying not to wear it.
Speaker 2 (04:19):

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Colors.
Speaker 5 (04:22):
Yeah, No, you got what yours is?
Speaker 6 (04:23):

Speaker 5 (04:24):
You look like you went to heaven? I got well, no, no,
you got your wings up there? You and uh, what's
his name? Sam? Whoever?
Speaker 3 (04:36):
Sam?
Speaker 5 (04:37):
The guy? Ray who? Ray Burn or something? What's who?
Speaker 3 (04:39):
You left? Raymond Burn? Sam?
Speaker 5 (04:43):
My god, Raymond Burn.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
By the way, Scottie at the other job took me
telling you he was gonna take with them making fun
of you yesterday.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
And he did a little promo thing I told you
he does that.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
He does it.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
He took you talking about Raymond burd and versus Jesus.
And let all the spectrum people here names you work
with a heathen? Yes, I do, you said, every day?
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Every day? All right? Just search Odd Couple F s
R on YouTube. Make that, make that happen. All right,
Let's welcome in the Odd Couple crew, because you wouldn't
be able to do this fine radio program without him.
Rob G is our producer, but Mexican Rob G is
our producer.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
But Mexican. Okay, usc Chris is our engineer today.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
But Mexican is the one I do not have here.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
So we finished with a nine hundred n What I'm.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Gonna what I'm gonna do is I'm going to make
a board for when people feeling you're going to make it,
there is one. It's just going to make a board
and it'll be button. You'll get the script button one, two, three, four,
and it'll be one.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
You're gonna make it like the Mexicans, But Mexican, Alex,
what are you trying to.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
You're trying to think like I'm not tech savage for
you can say it, yes, Okay, Steve.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
Sakers at the anchor desk, go keep us updated throughout
the program.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
And of course Elijah is our social media Google. So
there we go. All that and much more. All right,
rob g h, I'm just tired of all this RAMS news.
I mean, it made me throw up in my mouth today.
When I had to hear Aaron Donald chiming in, I
thought he was retired, and I thought you loved dough.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
Aaron's I just I don't. I don't like to retire one.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
So when Aaron Rogers retires, it'll be a different Okay, gotchay,
but you like Aaron Burr Raymond?
Speaker 8 (06:35):
Okay, anyways, yes, I thought it was Sam One Aaron
That Rob doesn't like Aaron Donald was Miles Garrett got
traded to the Rams. The next question, and everybody's mind was, damn.
Can you imagine if Aaron Donald came out of retirement,
him and Miles Garrett on the same d line.
Speaker 5 (06:49):
It'd be incredible.
Speaker 8 (06:51):
So Shady McCoy, who played at Pittsburgh where Aaron Donald played, Hey,
you know I've been texting with ad.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
You know he may or may not want to come back.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
We'll see one of his former teammate.
Speaker 8 (07:00):
It's Michael Brockers from the Rams saying, you know what,
I got some intel.
Speaker 5 (07:03):
My guy's staying ready.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
He don't got to get ready.
Speaker 8 (07:06):
But Pat McAfee got Aaron Donald on record, had a
text exchange with she read on air today during the
Pat McAfee show. McAfee said, but text saying, hey, you're
thinking about coming back to play with the Rams. And
here's what Aaron Donald said.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
Quote.
Speaker 8 (07:21):
It for sure got me thinking. Thirty five removed two
years ago. Got to see if that fire can light
back up.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
I got news for you.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
I got a fire extinguisher, and I'm gonna keep the
flame extinguished.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
Please just go home, stay with your family.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
You would you were tired.
Speaker 5 (07:42):
Guys kill me with this.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
I don't understand it, seriously, because it takes a lot
for you. It's something you've done as a kid all
the way. When you step away, it speaks volumes, it
really does. And now I'm talking about like the Brett
fav who never really he was like I'm retiring. He
never really quit and then came back. It was just conversation.
He didn't take a year or two off and then
(08:05):
come back. I just don't understand it, you know, just
because someone texts you or whatever. Like he Aaron would
not have quit if he didn't feel that way. He
has the perfect life, you know why.
Speaker 5 (08:19):
He went out on top with a championship.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Bing he made, he got his big contract playing in
the National Football League.
Speaker 5 (08:27):
Bing, he's got his health, bing, your kid.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Your family, get to have a young dad around, and
all this other stuff.
Speaker 5 (08:37):
All of these things are winning. What you could do is.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Come back, get hurt, not play well for people to
look at you and go.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
Man.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
I remember when he was really like the best player
in the league, okay, or Matthew Stafford has four snaps
and bust something and then the season's over and you're
there playing for what. I don't get it, Aaron Donald,
don't do it. I would rather you go work at
McDonald's than come back and play for the Rams. I'm
(09:11):
that serious.
Speaker 5 (09:12):
Don't be this.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
At least there the man got a chance to make
First of all, crazy get it.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
He's already got money. He wouldn't have left if he
didn't needed money, he wouldn't have left. He a lot
of NFL players, and you notice they dropped it at
fifty five years old. There's a lot that goes into it.
He did not quit because he couldn't play. Is that
he thought it out and made the right decision. It
wasn't like I was unfulfilled because I never won a
(09:38):
Super Bowl or I never got there.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
He was at the pinnacle. I just hope.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
He had a brain fart for a couple of minutes
and he got tired.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
No, no, no, he had the brain part then right
when he was tired. That's what it was.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
Now, listen to everybody can't have a you know, this
is my fortieth year.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
You know this is my thirty figure.
Speaker 6 (10:04):
You know this.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Are you going to forty five? You're going a year
forty five in this business?
Speaker 5 (10:08):
Yeah, but I know.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
What I'm saying is, but when I'm ready to retire
with you, guys, believe I do believe you think I'm
gonna come back.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
No, not in this capacity. I think you'll find something else.
Speaker 6 (10:19):
No.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
But the only reason why I do believe I'm not
because you have been. You are very stick to itive.
I'll give you that. And why I tell you.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
That I'm working on on the dude, I get that.
I'll give you that.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
I'm going to do.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
You got mine?
Speaker 6 (10:29):
You get that?
Speaker 5 (10:30):
On that? That mean I give that.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Now.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
What I'm saying with Aaron Donald is this couple of things.
One the reason I brought up how long you've been
doing this is there are times where athletes realize this
is the smallest window to a professional career. You're going
forty five. I've been in a twenty one years. I
could go another twenty years and so on and so forth. Right,
we haven't. We're blessed with a career. Al Pacinos still acting.
He's what one hundred and six Clinton Eastwood got to
(10:54):
be one hundred and nine. So my point is there
are certain careers you can keep going. Teachers teacher, there's
seventy something or prince and athletes know it's a finite career.
Speaker 5 (11:03):
And I think that they do get the itch.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Sometimes. I didn't want to go through a summer camp.
I didn't have OTA's in me. I wanted to be home.
And I think they get home and they rest up
and your body's feeling good. You took a couple of
years off, and I think they get that itch. And
I give you an example. Tom Brady never quite got
the itch like that Tom Brady. I mean he never
really let it sit. That's why I say he never
really let it settle. But what he did was go
(11:27):
call Rob Gronkowski and he said, yo, grunt, come on
back with me, who would have been all four year
or two, Come on back, come win this Super Bowl
with me and Tampa.
Speaker 5 (11:38):
And they come back and they won.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Eric Waddle did that for the Rams and ended up
being a pivotal piece defensively for the Rams the year
they wanted back in twenty with the February of twenty
twenty two. So I think there are examples of where
guys come back, they're fresh, they're healthy. Have you seen
Aaron Donald on what he's been doing. He ain't missed
the beat?
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Okay, I can I give you? Can I give you
a quote from Aaron Donald? Aaron Donald mayive.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
Yes, let me hear right? That's just about a year
year ago. Okay.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Quote. As far as playing football, I don't miss it.
I don't even have the passion or excitement to wanna
play football. I will always love football, but once you
lose the passion, it's time to walk away.
Speaker 5 (12:28):
Hello, he said this, There wasn't a gun to his back.
Those are those are real comments.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
He got caught up in the trade and somebody texting
him and being involved in all that. Come on, man,
you don't say this a year ago unless you believe it.
And once you lose that passion, we talk about it
all the time. When players start even talking about retirement.
You don't want that guy. He's already checked out.
Speaker 1 (12:54):
I don't disagree with most humans, but I use Gronk
as an example. Arguably a top What where you want
to put him? Three four tight end of all time?
Speaker 5 (13:03):
Younger?
Speaker 3 (13:04):
He would tired early, but his body's more batter than
Aaron Donald. But it ain't it ain't the same Aaron Donald.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
Aaron Donald. I'll say this to say, Aaron Donald is
still young, thirty five. He has a couple of years off.
It's kind of like Michael Vick, not that he wanted
to retire, but set him out to prison, and he
got two years off to just stay healthy, to keep
his body right, and came back and had the best
year of his career, a couple of years with Andy Reid.
And all I'm saying with Aaron Donald is I get
why he might be interested. I get why he might
(13:31):
want to say. Man, Matthew Stafford, whose question retirement is there?
Speaker 5 (13:34):
Again?
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Sean McVay. Sean McVay questioned retirement is there? So you
got Sean McVay, Matthew Stafford, guys who've been through, but
they pushed through.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
They've had great season.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Either one of them, Sean McVay or Matthew Stafford was
never the best player in the league.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
They were never on national mcva.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
He's right there on the short list. Well, who's better
not on my list? He can just go on. He's
right there. Many people will say, Sean Finde, I don't
care what many people say, I'm going, in my opinion
that someone right there nineteen ninety.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Sean McVay absolutely deserves to be right nineteen eighty seven.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
And so if Sean McVay question.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
That's why he never fixed the special teams, that's why
he didn't get a kicker.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
He didn't do what he didn't do what he needed
to do.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Last year. It was a problem all year, and they
did right, and part of it was that's him as
a coach.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Their defense horrible the second half, and they righted that ship.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
Mcg talking about and I'm talking about what happened last year.
Speaker 6 (14:30):
Right.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Issues the team all year. I'm gonna trust that they
right the ship. Okay, he has earned that that he
has done. He finds ways to fix holes for sure.
His last year, that's what caught right. That's why I'm
talking about this season. So my whole point is, if
Aaron Donald wants to come back, I understand it. I
get it. He's that talented, he he's that healthy, he's
that in shape. The team would not need him to
(14:54):
be Aaron Donald of the twenty eighteens, nineteens, and twenties.
They would need him to be just give us spot
plays here there, We've got other players, and come just
be great, be around the locker room, be a leader,
make a play here there, and and and go for
a last ride. Might be the last ride for him.
Stafford might even be McVeigh. You never know.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Should Aaron Donald
come out of retirement to play.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
For the Rams to get come get this, come get
this Grunk Trophy.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
We'll continue that conversation next with you.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
It is the Odd Couple, Rob Parker kelvin Washington, where
we deliver insight, not noise, and we value your phone calls.
This is not a damn podcast where you can't get through.
Speaker 5 (15:38):
This is a radio show. You gonna get these calls.
Continue on, We'll continue this conversation. The look what I'm
about to do. I'm about to unhold him. No, I'm
unhold them. It is the odd Couple. I do that.
There we go.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
You can't do it, he can do it right here
on Fox Sports Radio. And you know what you need
to do. Lucky Stick and stay.
Speaker 5 (16:01):
Why is it gotta be Mexican Bud? Couldn't it be
American Bud? USA?
Speaker 1 (16:05):
Go the other way. But I did it by the way, unblocked.
Those take that rush, all right?
Speaker 5 (16:09):
Check it out. The world's biggest soccer tournament.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
We know it has a ridd and you can trade
the entire tournament on Calshi, and on Calshi you can
trade every match from the opening stage all the way
to the finals. So you know me, right, I love
having fun. I love an underdog story. Picking the favorite
it's still easy, right, But riding with the long shot
it's more fun, feels more rewarding. And with that in mind,
(16:31):
I want to tell you all about this one. So
Mexico is currently trading at just one point three percent
to win it all, meaning if you're bet one hundred dollars,
you trade one hundred dollars, it's gonna pay out over
seven one hundred if that wins in the soccer's biggest prize.
So so check this out. Mexico is gonna be well
represented in the games because of course being here in
the States. So wouldn't shock me at all to see
(16:52):
them make a deep run. Right, They're gonna have a
huge fan base, gonna be a lot of people rooting
them on, especially here in Southern California, so on Calshi
against peers in a live market, meaning there's no house
and as the probability changes, you can buy in and
out of your position. So for a limited time, download
the Calci app and make sure you use the code
(17:12):
odd O D d odd to get ten dollars when
you trade ten ka l shi that's Calcy Trade on anything.
Speaker 7 (17:23):

good to chop it up with him. And by the way,
after forty well, the energy drops the way hangs on
and you start wondering where the old you went. M Drive, well,
it was built for that. Support healthy testosterone, energy, metabolism.
Don't ignore the change. Go to M Drive for men
(18:44):
dot com. Check them out there. Take good care of
you us, Chris. When Alex is here, he makes us
a little concoction and stuff. Love some M drive all right,
eight seven seven ninety one on Fox. Let's get to
these calls. Aaron Donald getting out of retirement possibility good idea.
Should he stay home, relax and lift weights every day
like he does on Instagram, or come back to a
(19:04):
Super Bowl contending team Rob and get one more and
then he can look at you a scream and.
Speaker 5 (19:07):
It is possible.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
And in case you're wondering why we call Chris USC Chris.
He was my student at US six.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Me and Steve the Sega are the only people who
weren't your students. And even then you've had Steve go
speak to your suits. As matter of fact, I sit
next to you every day. When you gonna ask me have.
Speaker 5 (19:28):
You next semester?
Speaker 7 (19:30):
I think I get the USC title just because I
was one of your first students.
Speaker 5 (19:33):
Yes, you are the first One's throw a little doubt,
all right, here we go eight seven seven ninety. Wait,
but was he a good student?
Speaker 6 (19:39):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Fox, he did a great job.
Speaker 5 (19:41):
He liked my paper on Rashid Wallace.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Absolutely.
Speaker 6 (19:44):
All right.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
Kenneth in Louisiana, you're in the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up, Kenneth?
Speaker 6 (19:50):
What's going on? Guys?
Speaker 9 (19:53):
I'm good, long time listening the first time calling.
Speaker 5 (19:55):
Hey, Kenneth, reappreciate you. How long have you been listening?
Speaker 3 (19:58):
My man?
Speaker 6 (19:59):
For years?
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Thank you?
Speaker 5 (20:00):
Okay? What part of Louisiana?
Speaker 6 (20:03):
Rob?
Speaker 5 (20:05):
Yeah, okay, agree Louisiana. You agree with me? I want
to hear why.
Speaker 9 (20:12):
You always want to go out on top. You think
you come back to get in, you know, try to
do whatever you can do. But if you're losing, it
doesn't look good. It doesn't look good at all.
Speaker 6 (20:25):
I e Lebron James.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Okay, well, I think I get your sentiment, but I'll
say this, it is a difference. A D lineman defensive
tackle is much different than a star NBA player, franchise leader.
I get because that's a whole that we're looking at you.
It'd be more Matthew Stafford than Aaron Donald. Aaron Donald
comes back and let's say he's solid but not great.
He'll just kind of fall in the mix and we
won't necessarily make a thing of it. That's the luxury
of football teams. It usually just falls on the quarterback.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Yeah. I just want to coach those two if you can.
I always loved how John Elway left like Anna bus right,
especially see same thing Dre bettess. He probably could have
eked out another year if he wanted to. He was good.
Greg and Wichita, you're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up? Greg k deb Hey.
Speaker 6 (21:12):
You guys, yo, yo, Hey, Rob.
Speaker 10 (21:16):
I understand what you're saying, but I'm not gonna tell
anybody what they should do. Aaron Donald's intelligent guy. If
it's cool with his wife if she wants him out
of the house and he's got to drive, I don't
know why not.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
I mean, Greg, let me say this, and you're right,
Aaron Donald's not listening to the show. I'm gonna say, Yeah,
Rob is right, I'm not gonna come back. Okay, I'm
just saying, but Greg, that's why we do the show, right.
We got an opinion on this. Should he shouldn't he?
So I don't. I'm not saying this and saying Aaron
Donald's gonna Aaron Donald gonna listen to Rob Parker about
(21:54):
his few I'm just saying I would rather a guy
who said that he didn't have passion for the game
stay home. That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (22:03):
Did you ever give up passion for this?
Speaker 3 (22:05):
No?
Speaker 5 (22:05):
What about her?
Speaker 3 (22:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (22:07):
I did, That's why I got divorced. But another herd No?
Speaker 3 (22:09):
No, no, So you ain't never did back when I
had When I didn't have the passion, I got divorced.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
I'm not I'm not talking about divorce. Another one. I'm
talking about he went back. I'm talking about he spun
the blot. I'm talking about divorce. Yeah, you spuned a block.
I know, Sheila, I said it was over. But there
comes a point.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
And my point is like I'm as passionate about what
I do every day then I was twenty five years ago,
and I'm not even kidding you. I come in here,
I'm fired up. I'm ready to scream and yell and
have my opinion. I am, and that's why I still
do it. If I did, if I didn't do that,
if I was mailing it and like some other people
(22:47):
maybe might be doing there you go, Well, let me
tell you something.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
I ain't missed anti podcast like you, but I ain't
gonna lie some people eating on.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
Podcasts you go because the one person is not Yeah,
I don't know how to Let's squeeze in Kevin real quick,
Kevin in Culver City. That was about your guy? Wait
a minute? Did that was that about Marcellus? Did you
hear him? Go?
Speaker 6 (23:10):
Huh?
Speaker 5 (23:11):
Do that? Okay? I told you to do that, Kevin,
Kevin in Culver City. We're gonna talk about it all
the time. What are you doing? Called us early? What's up?
What you do on a day off?
Speaker 11 (23:24):
I had to get in on this topic. Hey, Aaron
Donald A d is the baddest man in l A.
And the difference is, I know what Rob is saying,
but this guy any room he walks into, he's the
strongest man, the most in shape man. And you have
an opportunity to play with a guy like Miles Garrett
and work with him every day. Get back into the
grind with Stafford.
Speaker 5 (23:42):
He said he had no passion.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
So was he lying to us, Kevin? Was he lying
to us too a year ago? Kevin? I'm asking you, Kevin,
just answer one question. So he lied a year ago
and he said he had no passion for the game.
Is that he lied to us?
Speaker 11 (23:58):
There might have been a the might be a little
cap and no, no, he didn't lie. But sometimes you
get to the fire rejuvenated. You got a unique opportunity
in LA for Super Bowl. And this is a unique
team with Miles Garrett that can legit win a Super Bowl.
And you look at that defensive line with Donald and
Garrett together, that's a winning formula. That's a championship. Team
(24:19):
will to.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
Run on until somebody's achilles is hanging out of their
boloney sock.
Speaker 5 (24:25):
There you go. And you know the super bowls in
LA too, so they want to go head win another
one in la.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
Okay, that's what they want to do. I appreciate the
cause as always. I for Salama on the other side,
we'll talk to him, and of course he was once retired,
so we'll see get his thoughts to the we're about
to say.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
I'm gonna say this before Steve's update. Tonight's the first
night of the Stanley Cup Final. Right as somebody who
worked in hockey Town grew up as an Islander fan
with my team won for Stanley Cups in the row.
I'm gonna say this, and I'm saying it with all sincerity.
I think the problem with the National Hockey League is
(25:02):
that it's Las Vegas against the Hurricanes, right. I don't
think the Canadian teams aren't like relevant anymore like Brands.
I just we're the Rangers, we're the Flyers, Wings Hawks.
I just it's mind boggless since they came into the league,
(25:24):
like Las Vegas has been a couple of times. I
just I'm not saying they're a good team. Obviously, Tampa
Bay's one. Like if you start looking go over the
last twenty years and see the teams that have won,
they were all like off brands.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
Steve, thank you appreciated our couple. Robin Kelvin on a
trash Talking Tuesday, which is coming up in the next
hour right now, joined by e from Salam former NFL
offensive line in Fox Sports Radio Weekendsy for Lime on
ask give him a follow What up?
Speaker 3 (26:02):
Man?
Speaker 6 (26:03):
What's good? Brothers? How y'all doing good?
Speaker 1 (26:06):
We're trying to see if you want to go block
for Matthew Stafford and join Aaron Donald and Miles Garrett
and aut him go and have a little party with
the Rams.
Speaker 5 (26:13):
You got it in you, man, I really do.
Speaker 6 (26:15):
But about that, my back, knees, hips, and shoulders are like, yeah,
we're good.
Speaker 5 (26:24):
What are you making that?
Speaker 1 (26:25):
Aaron Donald coming hasn't said anything but little hands, a
little joke, you know, a little tongue in cheek, tweets
or messages to Pat McAfee. What are you making that?
Rob says, look, you left, you were done. You said
you didn't have the passion.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
He said it a year ago. He said he didn't
have the pa He loved the game. But he doesn't
have the passion to play anymore. And I know a
plenty of football. I've been covering this league for a
long time, and and he from you noticed. Once you
don't have that, you don't want to get back out
on that field.
Speaker 6 (26:53):
That's true. But just like you can lose it, you
can regain it.
Speaker 9 (26:59):
And what do you do?
Speaker 5 (27:00):
Pop a blue pill and he's ready to play.
Speaker 6 (27:01):
Oh yeah, no, no, no, no, no no. I think he
understands just what it would mean and how how it
would make his job a lot easier to have himself
in a three technique and Miles Garrett out there in
a in a seven technique or a nine technique. I mean,
(27:23):
you want to talk about a nightmare for opposing offenses.
If if Aaron Donald would come in and play, let's
just say he plays fifteen to twenty plays a game,
pass our situation, that would be the ultimate That would
(27:43):
be ultimate job. It'll be the ultimate job. You come
in next to one of the all time greats. Were
all the attention will be over.
Speaker 5 (27:51):
There until Matthew Stafford rips his achilles.
Speaker 6 (27:57):
I'm not going to wish something like that.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Nobody wished it on Aaron Rodgers. Nobody, nobody wished it
on Aaron Rodgers, and it happened. All quarterbacks get heard,
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (28:10):
But we're talking about the defensive line, and I know
you're equating it to then if that happened, then he
would just be playing for nothing. But so that's why,
you know, I see if it does happen, I see
it happening around you know, Thanksgiving, going into the later
months and and and all of that. Maybe he's popping
up in practices and around the team, but it's a
(28:32):
it's a win win situation for him, come back, play
with one of the all time greats play on the team.
Uh that you want a championship with that move? That
trade makes them they on odds on favorite to win
the Super Bowl. It's clear cut in my opinion.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Not me. So you got to win the Super Bowl.
I remember that, we got it, I do.
Speaker 6 (28:53):
I don't we have it on tape. I don't have
I'm gonna say it on my show too, So we'll
have a bunch of tapes.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Good go ahead, taped out? Yeah, we taped out. That's
all I want to know. Let's let's get to uh.
I do want to get to the NBA finals as well.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
Real quick, real quick, real quick. A J Brown Brown
and the Patriots.
Speaker 6 (29:16):
I think it's great. I think it's a you know,
he'll finally in his entire career be with uh An
a quarterback. You know, he's never had a.
Speaker 5 (29:25):
Don't disrespect Tannehill like that.
Speaker 6 (29:26):
Again, he's from Okay, Well, the numbers disrespect him like
I'm not. I'm not saying anything disparaging to look at
the numbers, and so this will be the first time
he's playing with what we will consider a real starting
quarterback who's a proficient passer down there. So I don't
want to take anything away from Jalen Hurts, but as
(29:48):
let me take.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
I don't know what Super Bowls you watched, because he
outdueled Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 5 (29:52):
I thought he threw the ball really well. Now in
those in those two games.
Speaker 6 (29:57):
As you know, as a receiver, you're your your season
isn't made and comprised of one game.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
Or yeah, but it's about winning any guy, any guy.
So I hope he goes to New England. I hope
this year they don't make the playoffs and he's happy
because he has his numbers. Anybody who's on a team
that's winning who doesn't feel good about it. I got
a problem with that in sports because it's not just
about compiling numbers. Go to a bad team and get numbers.
Speaker 6 (30:27):
No one said anything about that, and I agree with
that sentiment. What I said was, I'm sure be happy
because now he's with what we all consider a passer
of the football and he's never had that. I didn't
say anything else about, you know, him being unhappy and
they're winning. No, no, no, I'm just talking about personally
for him as a receiver. You want to be part
(30:50):
of the game plan. We know in New England he'll
be part of the game plan. Philadelphia is a run
first team. That's just what it was. Guess what Tennessee
was a run first team. They just happened to have
two of the best running backs have played in the
NFL in the last twenty years on both of those
respective teams. So now he gets to be on the
(31:11):
team where they will feature wide receivers, which he's never
really had before.
Speaker 5 (31:17):
Yeah, I got NBA. You want to get to the
v the NBA tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
The NBA tomorrow is the start of the NBA Finals.
The Knicks are in San Antonio taking on the Spurs.
Ye we got and what how many games?
Speaker 6 (31:31):
I like the Spurs. I called it back in February.
I thought the Spurs had an opportunity as good as
Okac was and what was going on. I thought that
in the Celtics at the time, everybody was playing well.
I thought the Spurs had an opportunity to win the
championship this year with Victor winbin Yama. Not just Victor though,
(31:51):
when you look at Castle and his growth, are you
looking for sale and what he's been able to.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
I think you're spot on, man. He from it is
as much as Wimby is and all. They have a
good team they have. They have a good team. Anybody
who thinks it's just Wimby is not.
Speaker 6 (32:06):
Watching watching, They're not watching and and and that's and
as you guys know, I watch, I watch, I understand
the game at a high level, and I'm I'm watching
what they're doing. Like those young guards, those wing defenders
number one, they will go to the rim and put
you in it and in a in a in a
in a in a league. That's you know, hyperbolic when
(32:30):
it comes to we're gonna get up threes and shoot
as many threes. They have guards that will get downhill
and meet you at the rim. You know how many
times they tried to dunk on.
Speaker 5 (32:39):
Chitt holmeren hark Stefan Relax, they man.
Speaker 6 (32:44):
They are. They are assaulting the rim and I respect
that in a time where people are passing up layups
for threes.
Speaker 5 (32:52):
Yeah, that's what makes them scary is they're they're well versed.
Speaker 6 (32:55):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
The only thing I would say is maybe age that's
the one you know area You could say, well, I
don't know about that, but they look scary as a
team for sure.
Speaker 5 (33:04):
Man, appreciate it. Go ahead.
Speaker 6 (33:05):
I don't think you can use an age thing. They
said that they were a year away and next year
they were too young to go to OKC and beat
them like that. I think they grew up a lot
in that last series, and out of the twelve times
they played OKC this year, they beat them seven, No,
they did. I think they've grown up.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
You win game one to seven on the road against
the defending champ.
Speaker 6 (33:28):
You've grown up, you are grown. Yes, that age thing
is out the window.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Yep, no doubt, no doubt. He appreciate you, man, thank
you have a good one as always. All right, brothers,
no doubt. Shekel City on the way as well as
ty Req play the Day. It is the hoc up

Speaker 6 (34:43):
He's right there.
Speaker 5 (34:44):
He keep an eye on your house. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (34:47):
How'd you know that? Wow?
Speaker 5 (34:49):
You know the neighborhood.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
Bro Good Thanks Tony.
Speaker 5 (34:52):
Shout to Tony Man appreciate it. All right, let's get
to it.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
Shekel City, Shekel City for Rob Parkers, Dalley Dicks against
the spread.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
All right, last night, good night, two and one. Record
is now one fifty two and one, twenty one thirty
one games over five hundred versus the spread. I'll take
that any day. Here we go, best bet. I'm taking
the Cubs minus one and a half. They're hosting the
Athletics in Chicago. Got the Pirates minus one and a half.
(35:27):
They're in Houston taking on the Astros and the Angels
who lost my one run last night to the Rockies.
I'm gonna take the Angels minus one and a half
in Anaheim.
Speaker 5 (35:39):
Taking on the Rockies.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
So again, Angels minus one and a half, Pirates minus
one and a half runs, and the Cubs minus one
and a half runs. And remember, I'm not telling you
who to bet on. I'm telling you who I bet on. Right,
Bryce Harper just went yard in Philadelphia, got a tie game.
Speaker 5 (35:59):
Did, he screams on the rod Manford.
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Yeah, yeah, it's going going, it's gone. Yeah, he's talking
hopefully want time about the season. My goodness, all right,
there you have all. I'm just happy that they're talking.
I'm sure they are. He said something today though, he
was he was concerned. He was concerned. Yeah, he was saying,
everybody's concerned because I think everybody knows about the momentum
of the game. And it would just be like baseball
(36:21):
shooting itself in the foot.
Speaker 5 (36:23):
It would be We talked about it.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
You good stars, young stars obviously some like middling aged
stars like himself, Mike Trout, and and you don't want
to lose that at all. And you, like we said,
you had the big Cities, You're the Dodgers in it.
You had the Yankees, not this past year, the year
before that. You know what I mean, You're having some
great things happen. It'll be false, it'll be awful to
lose that. All right, Let's get to your tire rect
(36:46):
play of the day.
Speaker 5 (36:48):
Swinging a high fly ball center field.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
This one's deep, going back his mullins at the fence,
looking up and it's gone.
Speaker 5 (36:58):
Fourth home run of the night, for the Tigers.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
Second of the night for Dylan.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
Dingler Tigers Radio. There Dickerson, one of my buddy Dan Dickerson,
hold on.
Speaker 5 (37:07):
You know what?
Speaker 6 (37:08):
None on?
Speaker 5 (37:08):
I look at it. What is it?
Speaker 1 (37:09):
Bottom of the four Tigers up five? Nothing on the raish.
I thought they're gonna use a their runs at ten
yesterday they're they're doing all right. You know how you
get ten runs, you usually get one or two the
next day. They're at five right now, so all right, right, juice.
They got juice though usually they'd be losing one. They
would it's still early though a little nervous. They got
(37:29):
winning runs ten to nine yesterday. That was your tire
reck Player of the Day. Brought to you by Tyrek
and for over forty years, Tyrek's been helping customers find
the right tires for how, for what and for where
they drive. Ship Fast and free back by Free Road

tirerack dot Com.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
It is the way tire boy who Goldschmid just went
yard for the Yankees. It's uh two to one Yankees
over the Guardians.
Speaker 5 (37:56):
Yankees hit a home run. There you go all right?
Speaker 3 (37:58):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (37:59):
Big all right man, and.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
Larry Fitzgerald Senior, uh, big time editor, well yeah, sportswriter
and broadcasting talk show in Minneapolis.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
Somebody who when I was a young writer and got
my own talk show in Detroit at a young age,
somebody who would give me advice and uh stuff that
I still hold on to today. Great guy. And then
you know, to see a sports writer and then his
son become a star in the NFL was always something
(38:32):
because he was like a ball boy. And I remember
meeting his son, you know, years ago, and this guy
winds up being one of the best.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
Of the best receivers ever, one of the best pair
of hands ever. Hall of Famer.
Speaker 5 (38:43):
He was a ball boy for the vices. I know.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Anytime you see what's funny is whenever they show those
old clips of him, especially once he got like fourteen,
is thirst for you?
Speaker 5 (38:52):
All right, you're looking a little different out there.
Speaker 1 (38:54):
They say he's talked to Chris Carter and Randy and
get advice and all that good stuff. But rest in
peace to your senior loving president of family, Larry Gerald Junior.
Obviously all the best of he and his family. But
you mentioned all I've ever heard today from so many
different people, Tony Kurrnheizer, Michael wilbon Is, how happy he
was to see his boy, as you mentioned it, just
(39:15):
to be around all of that throughout his career.
Speaker 5 (39:17):
So that's a beautiful story there, man, Rip
