Speaker 5 (03:16):
Sick literally is.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Not the definition at all. It's you have germs of
a cold and your can spread them.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
I know when I'm sick. When I can't get up,
I'm sick.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
No, that could be you have some massive fever or
flu or something. I mean, you ain't sick, but speaking
of a sick I'm.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
Sick of you. But continue, what's up, brother?

Speaker 1 (03:35):
How you doing?

Speaker 2 (03:35):
I'm doing just great? Speaking of that.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
When it's cold outside in the world and the cold
weather sets in right every day, aches and pains can
link her. So you didn't know I was a broadcaster, Uh,
leave it. But to leaves gotcha got your back, and
then you right now alone with up to twelve hours
of body pain relief per dose.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
A leave keeps you.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Going with the long lasting body paying relief just win.
A try and leave use as directed for minor aches
and pains, and I gotta I use a leave, I do.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
It's really good stuff. So yeah, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
H So a lot of stuff to get into anything
you're excited about, a.

Speaker 5 (04:18):
Whole lot to get to.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Man, we got the whole gamut too, We got the
we got college basketball, we got NBA stuff, NFL never
goes away, and we even have even some baseball stuff.
And then really the actual season hasn't even started yet.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Far profar Again, I don't even know how you gonna
get busted twice with the juice, like we'll get into that.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Yeah, what do you mean how we We've got examples
of that twice twice in a year.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Like the dude signed a big forty how much million?

Speaker 5 (04:47):
Million?

Speaker 4 (04:47):
Ye?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah, like like crazy.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Some people don't like money, rock, I guess some people
some people like a money's money.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
I'm allergic to it.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
To go through that whole thing, and I was facing
a whole year's suspension.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
But we'll get into that our number We don't forget
trash talking, uh coming up in our number two. But
first of let's welcome in the Odd Couple crew. We
wouldn't be able to do this Find radio program without him.
Rob G is our producer. Wow, Rob G, that's a
that's a tough response.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
Yeah, that's what happens, bro and says him.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
And Miss Mary Mack, Yeah, they just cannot get along.
Of course, Steve de Seger's at the anchor desk. He'll
keep us updated throughout the program. Elijah is our social
media guru. That's Elijah still relive, relash in his big
birthday that he just had over the weekend and whatnot.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
And now looking forward to the next twenty five years.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
Where's he going now? Where's alive?

Speaker 1 (05:43):
It's even where'd you go Elijah to? Like a country
in Africa? He's always on some adventures and traveling.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
No, he stayed now, he's pretty local. Where'd you go, Elijah?

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Dere?

Speaker 5 (05:55):
Where'd he go?

Speaker 2 (05:56):
We can't hear you.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Because he's not He doesn't who never heard of him?

Speaker 2 (06:02):
He said he went to Vegas, got lost. I told you,
I told you to Vegas.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
But I knew he went, so God forbid he just
go to yardhouse down the way or something that ain't happening.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
But Elijah, I really wanted to know, you know, did
he get hit by a tumbleweed when he was standing
on the main dragstrip.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
Now you're worried about the shows he going? He didn't
go to a dragon.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Elijah just dumbs up or down? He said was popping?

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Was it? Was?

Speaker 2 (06:27):
It popping? Really? So a lot of people were there.
It wasn't like a ghost town because when.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
I wentw it was his birthday.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
It was a ghost town.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
All right. I'm just saying. And of course on the
uh ones and.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
Twos, why your bug let's.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Go, rob G.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
You know my panties won a bunch early early this
morning about a particular college basketball coach.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Can you clue us in.

Speaker 7 (06:53):
Yes, sir, Robert was really really upset about something that
Bruce Pearl said on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
I was working up, rob G. Yeah, you texted me
the middle of a suit.

Speaker 7 (07:04):
So what we're gonna do is we're gonna play what
Bruce Pearl said that got you upset, and then we're
gonna update the story and lets you know what We're
talking about today. Here's Bruce Pearl on Saturday talking about
the undefeated Miami of Ohio RedHawks twenty nine and zero
whether or not they deserve to be in the tournament.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Miami O Howe, here's the deal.

Speaker 8 (07:20):
Are we gonna select the sixty eight most deserving teams
or we're gonna sixty select the sixty eight best teams.
Selecting the sixty eight best teams, then Mia Mole is
gonna have to win their tournament to qualify as a champion,
because as in at large, they are not one of
the best teams in the country, and that's gonna be
a difficult choice for the committee to make.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
Yikes, Nikes is right because he got barbecue boy.

Speaker 7 (07:44):
A lot of people of college people love set basketball.
I'm sure we'll get to with Aaron Toars in hour three.
But one person who was particularly perturbed was Miami Ohio
Athletic director David Saylor, who put out a series of
tweets like he was rage, tweeting shoutout Kevin to Here's
one of the things he said about Bruce Pearl quote,

(08:04):
you are flat out wrong about Miami Ohio basketball when
you say we would finish it last in the Big East.
The disrespect is awful. You should not be near a
TV studio cover in this sport when you show your
true color. Here's the worst part. He even sleeped in
a wei when talking about Auburn.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
Nice work, right, And and here's the thing, this is
what got me worked up about this.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
Tell me what had Joe Panny's in a bunch that
you kept texting us?

Speaker 6 (08:30):
Right?

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Yes, First of all, Bruce Pearl, he's got a lot
of baggage he's carrying around.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
A lot of people in college basketball don't like that.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
Okay, so he's got a lot of people in that situation.
He's rubbed the wrong way. But I'm just saying, Kelvin,
what NCAA tournament with sixty eight.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Schools in it is.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Going to say that a team that's twenty nine to
zero doesn't deserve to be I'm like, and then said, well,
it's to schedule twenty nine and oh me to tell
me there's no place the only way they can make
it in the tournament is by winning their conference.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Really, like, that's the AD's right. It's totally disrespectful. It
makes absolutely no sense.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
This is supposedly coming from a basketball coach who knows
how hard it is Kelvin to.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Go twenty nine and zero. I don't care what league
you're playing.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
It doesn't matter what it could be. My daughter's why
I'm saying, right.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Twenty nine and zero.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Right, and number two, I did get to his sons,
the coach, right, it took over for him at Auburn. Right,
I got this census. His son is what fifteen and fourteen,
rob g something like that. He's like under five hundred.
This was like sending out a message without naming his

(09:49):
son and the kids in that school that Auburn being
fifteen and fourteen is better than Miami of Ohio. Do
you know what I mean? Because of the competition. So
let me plant that seed so that my son and
Auburn can get a look over this fraudulent despite being
a Division I program that's that has access to getting

(10:11):
into the tournament. Like, I've never heard anything like that
in my life, have you?

Speaker 1 (10:16):
No, Clearly, this is absolutely a I quit on the
team right before the season started.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
Let me throw my son in there.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Oops, they're almost five hundred, they're fifteen and fourteen, as
you mentioned, And all of a sudden, and when you
look at what they are. They're not great, They're they're
it's six and ten in the conference, so like they're
gonna have a shot.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Really, they're out there on the bubble.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
This isn't let me throw an out of you to
my son, to a school that I coached at, to
a school that obviously I have ties to and still
have love for. That's absolutely what he did. And when
in the process of doing that, he bashed another coach
whose team has done what they're supposed to do and
have played very well to the tuite of not losing
a twenty nine to zero, you would think as a
coach he would respect it. He would think as a

(11:00):
coach he would go, you know what, I got to
show some love for them.

Speaker 5 (11:02):
I know they don't play in the Big Ten.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
I know they're not in the Big East, but they
get they're playing some great basketball. They beating whoever lines
up in front of them, and they're getting it done.
And might to you rob that not everybody who's even
in bigger conferences has great records, but can make him
get in the tournament and do something. Let's go back
to the nineteen ninety seven Arizona Wildcats, who had nine
losses and they only and then it became the only

(11:26):
team to beat three number one seeds in the single tournament,
meaning a team that wasn't that great they going to run.
Let's talk about twenty eleven vcu Rams. Remember them first four.
They are the first four team that ended up reaching
the final four. So you don't worry about me. If
I'm saying by the other coach, let my team get in.
Let us do what we could get blown out by

(11:46):
sixty me we might win three games. The point is
we've done what we're supposed to do and have a
chance to get into this tournament. And by the way,
there's only really what six to ten teams that really
got a chance to win it. So the idea that
if there's sixty eight teams, every team is so deserving.
Every team's record has been phenomenal, every team has had
an amazing schedule. That is that's not true.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
It's never been the case, that will never been c
eight teams.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
The idea that he could pooh pooh Miami of Ohio.
You know what I get it, But if their schedule
is terrible and it doesn't matter what they do, then
they shouldn't qualify they never should have been able to
qualify for the tournament.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Talking about two.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Thousand and six, I very much remember this team, that
George Mason team that was that got in or and
they you know, barely got in. They got in there
this eleven seed, and they ended up making it to
the final four. So my point is, if I'm Miami, Ohio,
don't worry about what I'm doing, don't worry about our record.
We got a shot, we got a chance to make
some noise. We've take care of our business. How about you,

(12:48):
your son take care of theirs.

Speaker 9 (12:50):
Now.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
If you think my panties were in a bunch, I
think Dicky V's panties were in a bunch in the
front and the back.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Because he came out with a tweet. You can shout
out to Dicky V.

Speaker 7 (13:01):
Dicky V is at that age now where he's just
gonna say whatever he wants.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
They can't do that.

Speaker 7 (13:07):
Yes, he's like, man, I know be Catcher seventeen times
exactly you didn't do to me.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
But that I'm already dealing with. But Dicky V. Obviously
you mentioned Rob.

Speaker 7 (13:15):
Everybody has an opinion on this thing because it's it's
unusual to hear someone say and undefeated twenty nine and
oh team should not be in the tournament.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Dicky V said this on Twitter. Here it is quote,
shouldn't even be a debate.

Speaker 7 (13:26):
About twenty nine and O Miami, Ohio as the weather
or they shot part of March Madness if they do
not win the MAC Tourney. Metrics used to define who
should qualify as at large teams as one sided favors
mediocrity all cash from power conferences over excellent all caps
by the mid majors.

Speaker 4 (13:43):
One hundred spot on, spot on, and again, Bruce Pearl,
this is him throwing his program, former program and his son.
Let me put this out there in the atmosphere, Kelvin,
with a chance that some of the voters and the
people on the you know, I mean, on the committee
to be like, oh yeah, well Auburn still played a

(14:04):
tougher schedule.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
You know who did Miami of Ohio. They don't even
know what state they're in, Miami, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (14:12):
And not to mention too, it's not like this is
the college football playoff where okay, we got twelve teams,
right then he got six sixty eighty about forty eight
of those teams, maybe even more. I don't know who
they are, who they wanted to be. They're in the tournament.
We all enjoy. We eat some chips and we watched
ten games at once and we have a good time.

Speaker 5 (14:32):
Stop backing like they're all this world beaters.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
This is not college football playoffs where I can understand
if you have a team, you know that that's not
from one of the big conferences and you're like, ooh,
a two loss, you know, Penn State or two loss
Alabama or something. Maybe they should have a shot over this,
you know, Miami Ohio football. I get that. That's completely
different than the sixty eighteen tournament in basketball.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox nine
six sixty three sixty nine. It's real simples, Bruce.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Pearl rang or do you think he's right?

Speaker 4 (15:08):
Where are you on Miami of Ohio twenty nine to zero,
and it's questioning whether they should be in the tournament
or not.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
We want to hear from you. It is the couple
when we.

We appreciate it as always. He from salam on the
way to about five or six minutes, we'll talk to
him about what's happening in the NFL, some trade, some guys,
big names getting released as well. Rob eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox Bruce pearl I and Rob believe
he's just trying to look out for his son, get

(18:11):
his salt, get his auburn in the thanks madness and
also and turned to me, really crapping on another team
and they're a wonderful accomplishment and going undefeated at anything
in life is rare and it should be heralded and
supported and celebrated. And the idea that you're gonna go
out of your way. He went out of his way

(18:31):
to trash what Miami, Ohio is doing. To me, that
was pretty wild, especially coming from a coach. It'd be
different if he was just if he was asked, You're like, yo,
you know I really you don't think that it's a
little easier sometimes. So those difficult teams, he went like
he acted like they did something to his girl or something.

Speaker 4 (18:47):
The ways it was really bad, no doubt. A seven
seven ninety nine on Fox. Let's get it. A couple
of people want to jump in on this. Marty in Kentucky,
You're on the y odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
What's up, Marty? How are you?

Speaker 9 (19:00):
I'm doing good.

Speaker 6 (19:01):
I'm heading the Rivers basketball practice.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
Nice?

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Nice? How old is River now? I'm afraid to ask eleven?

Speaker 6 (19:07):
He's eleven? Correct?

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Look at that, he's like my own son.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
I bought him his first pair of Joindans and I
know he's eleven years old.

Speaker 9 (19:15):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
How's how's the record right now? Because if it's twenty
nine to zero, it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Pearl is gonna tell you that it didn't matter.

Speaker 5 (19:24):
That ain't good you play?

Speaker 2 (19:25):
You played basketball? Man, It's ridiculous.

Speaker 9 (19:27):
I'll tell you what, Robbie, If River was your own son,
I think I noticed.

Speaker 6 (19:41):
Guys.

Speaker 9 (19:42):
You know, I'm gonna go.

Speaker 6 (19:43):
With the insta grain here, and it might be I might.

Speaker 9 (19:46):
Be biased because I've met Bruce Pearl. I got knocked
plumb cold out US Side Southern Indiana. He's coach there
late nineties. I got knocked out in a game, completely
out and as an accident and not a he's shot.
I wake up and he's standing over I'm like in
in the medic groom and he's talking to me.

Speaker 10 (20:09):
Really good guy.

Speaker 9 (20:10):
I think he's, yes, probably in his feeling something because
his son is on the bubble and they have had
one heck of a schedule and they've competed with a
lot of good teams and Miami of Ohowe is like
two hundred and I.

Speaker 10 (20:25):
Believe it's oh I loot it up early.

Speaker 9 (20:27):
Maybe two hundred and eighty five out of three hundred
sixty five teens drink the schedule. It's not a terrible point.
But I also know that he's in his feeling.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
But Bud, here's the thing, Marty, and that you number
is correct. Rob G said, that's right. Here's the problem.
They're undefeated, Like like I get it if they had
some losses or everyone whatever it is twenty four and
five or you know what I mean, or they're undefeated.
The idea that you have sixty eight teams and they
don't fit in and they only can get in by

(20:57):
winning the tournament for the conference.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
I'm the buying that. Thanks Marty. I appreciate it. And yes,
you are a little biased because you he was rubbing
your head.

Speaker 1 (21:06):
Where he looked up.

Speaker 5 (21:07):
He looked up from the heavens and was sitting there,
extended an arm.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
And wonder if Marty did Marty check for its wallet though,
to see if Bruce Pearl taking it t TDK, TDK
in Texas, you're in the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
What's up? TDK?

Speaker 10 (21:23):
Hey, what's going on? Guys? This is a kin to
Dion Sanders retiring to doing jersey. He's doing it because
he can and because he's got a platform. But as
a Miami alumb I see through it and he's just
flat out wrong. And that's all I got.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
Yeah, I got you it.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
Nope, got back. We got back to that bias.

Speaker 5 (21:45):
No no, I was picked up from Bruce Pearl.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
One said, Hey, Maggan, I'm gonna keep it real.

Speaker 4 (21:49):
I'm but even being a alum, this team is twenty
nine and oh, you couldn't tell me nothing of Southern
Connecticut was twenty nine And oh.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Okay, basketball team, Yes, I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
Reeese in Lexington, you're on the odd couple of rob
just took one of the think one of the other one.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Colombia's no better. They're not ever going to be twenty
nine at all. Just rolling the.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
USC then rolling USC.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
What's up, guys, what's happening?

Speaker 1 (22:16):
How are you good?

Speaker 6 (22:18):
I'm gonna go straight to it. Bruce Pearl is a
low down, dirty spitch.

Speaker 10 (22:22):
That's what he is.

Speaker 6 (22:25):
If you remember when he went to he got Illinois
on tape, he went to Tennessee line about the recruit,
the help pictures of him. The guy's a liar man.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
He's a snitch.

Speaker 6 (22:36):
And and you know it, suns are punk fitch. I
don't lie. Found nobody like that.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Yeah, all right, I hear you. I mean Bruce Pearl
is not liked you know that in college basketball.

Speaker 5 (22:46):
Let me tell you who don't like him, TDK.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
And let me tell you he was about to go
down the whole family line in a minute, and his
son and his brother too, and don't let me get
on his daddy. He was. He was about to start
lighting the whole Pearl family up. Hey, all the way,
Ephram Salam. We'll talk to him again. A bunch of
headlines within the NFL. Right now, we got Stevens.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
You know what yet it is Steve de Sega and TDK.
Mary doesn't like him because she had to dump him.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
So that's what happened.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Oh is that wild? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (23:12):
Sold you?

Speaker 1 (23:12):
TDK was letting everybody have it. He let out the
whole clip on everybody.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple

ser some time radio host, NBA TV analysts will talk
some hoots with him. We got Trash Talking Tuesday coming

(23:49):
up next hour as well, So a lot to get to.

Speaker 5 (23:52):
Rob g NFL News.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
I think Philip Rivers might open up a can about
guys retiring quarterback specifically and then looking like they may
come out of retirement.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
No, that's big facts.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
But this is not a report, because I'm not a report.

Speaker 7 (24:08):
Matthew Berry NBC Sports does a great job there doing
fantasy football.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
Every year.

Speaker 7 (24:13):
He does a what I'm Hearing column at the combine
and he stresses, I'm not reporting this. I'm not facts
checking it. I'm not I'm glad I'm not doing all
that kind of stuff. He's very upfront about it. This
is just things I'm hearing down at the hotel bar
in Indie talking to people, YadA, YadA, YadA. Now, having
said that, if you look at his call him from
last year, he hit like seven of them.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
So seven out of how many out of like ten?

Speaker 7 (24:35):
Okay, so he was really sharp on a lot of
these because you know when you get around these guys,
you know it is whether liquors flowing, lips get loose,
and they tell you exactly what's going on.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Right, let's all right, So I'm gonna get in trouble.
I just stopped. Don't do it, don't do it? I stoped.
Did you see that? I was like, I stop myself.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
So what.

Speaker 7 (24:57):
Matthew Berry was talking in this week's column, but a
lot of quarterback movement he's expecting and he's hearing about
this offseason. One of them he mentioned it to happen today,
Cardinal dump and Kyler Murray. We kind of all saw
that coming. But that's one thing he had confirmed with
his people down in in Indy. But the top story
that he had in his column that dropped late on
Monday involved the New York Jetropalaitans. Justin Field's always gonna

(25:19):
work out, so they're in the market for a new quarterback.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Oh, Justin Fields was the toughest quarterback to.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Defense and everybody else going but him quarterback coaches.

Speaker 7 (25:35):
According to Matthew Berry, the Jets have their eyes on
one player in particular to be their new QB. One
he's not on a team right now. That's because he's retired,
Derek carr No, formerly of the New Orleans Saints. According
to Matthew Berry, several people told him that the Jets
have their eyes set on making a trade for the

(25:55):
currently retired quarterback and making him their starter in New York.

Speaker 4 (25:59):
Okay, I say no to this, Kelvin all the way,
because the Jets need to stop. They need to get
a quarterback, develop them, try to rebuild this franchise. They
need to do it because everything they've done has blown
up in their face. And this would be another example.
And here's the problem, and I get it. Aaron Glenn

(26:20):
is in. He got a pass and had a terrible
first year, Would you admit that a terror? Almost ninety
nine of first year coaches that have turned in what
he turned in would have been fired for whatever reason.
The Jets wanted to save face, they didn't fire them.
Can they really afford another terrible year? Right and him

(26:44):
survive if the Jets get the first or second pick.
Do you see what I'm saying? Can he really do that?
Or does heat feel Aaron Glenn? I gotta win some games,
you know what I mean? Like I can't have a
awful year. Like you're in a really tough spot. If
you have a really bad year, you have a chance
at a first or second pick, which could be a quarterback.
Right if you don't and you but if you lose

(27:08):
a lot of games, you could get fired? Where are
you on this?

Speaker 1 (27:11):
So? I think to me, with the end, he has
to advantages. The floor is so low Rob that next
year they just look like you know what I mean?
You win four or five games, you fought hard, then
you could sell that on man.

Speaker 5 (27:24):
We're on our way. I told you some building process.
Look at us.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
We got him better, We improved and going to get
third Carr who's who's thirty four?

Speaker 5 (27:30):
Will be thirty five towards the end of this month.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
I think Derek Carr helps a contending team, right, Derek
Carr is not coming out of retirement to go to
the Jets. First of all, if I got a call
from my agent, Hey, the Saint Set They're going to
trade your Jets, guess what, I ain't.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
Playing football ever again.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
Clon and I'm hanging up like it's a nineteen nineties
house phone. Clon, Like I'm not doing that.

Speaker 5 (27:51):
I'm not coming back from the Jets.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
What I'm coming back for if I'm Derek Carr is
because maybe the Texans want to bring me back to
put a little fire under CJ. That's interesting, right, maybe
the tech maybe the Vikings say, JJ's still our guy,
he's just not there yet. We want to bring you
in to show him the ropes for another year. And
all right, cool the Vikings, I do that. There's two

(28:12):
three teams, four teams. Maybe that you consider that for
right it. Maybe you feel there's still some weapons down
in Miami and they want to do something there.

Speaker 5 (28:21):
Okay, there's some weapons there.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
I could maybe I could do that and not to
mention it's Miami, and not to mention, no State income tax.
The idea that I'm going to the Jets, absolutely not.
You're not gonna You're not gonna make my football experience,
which was bad at times, not the greatest at times,
even worse, like the taste in my mouth, like, oh
man football, You know it was good. I love the game,
but I didn't like it, Like I got so frustrated

(28:45):
with it. I actually retired early. I'm not coming back.
They didn't go to the Jets. That doesn't even make
any sense, you get what I'm saying. I retired early
because it was just time and the football weighed on
me maybe mentally, physically, spiritually, just to come back to
play with the Jets and come back. He's gonna look
at president who went in looked how good at you know,
their first term and coming out looking twenty years older

(29:06):
and worn down.

Speaker 5 (29:07):
That would be Derek Carr if he goes to play
for the Jets.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
Yeah, I just I just think this is would be
like yet another stop gap, you know what I mean,
Like this is what they keep doing and they just
haven't had any results and any luck. And you know,
if they're thinking this is Philip Rivers two point zero,
I get it, he's younger and whatnot. But when people

(29:32):
retire and quit, I just don't know if they always,
you know, have the same passion.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
So I don't know what, Derek Carr, you're expecting.

Speaker 8 (29:40):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
The quarterbacks can get away with that more rob than
in other sports because they just chuck it around twenty five.
I'm not I'm not minimize and there's.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
A mentality about playing once you decide you don't want
to get.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Hit, right, But what I mean by that is, I'm
not saying they're locked in and all of a sudden
play another five six years. But I think if you
can and bring a guy in, let's say he stayed
in relatively good shape or not.

Speaker 5 (30:04):
Philip Rivers he peer.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Dad Bod, then I think again, especially with the rules,
they're not getting cured.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
He had a nine, Dad Bob.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
I'm just saying, yeah, he looked he looked like he
hadn't played football in five years. But if you're Derek
Carr thirty four, I would imagine he's still in relative
of good shape. He's not too far removed. He's only
what a year. He just didn't play in twenty five
he played in twenty four. I think I could see
him coming back. I get your point. With more people.
This instance, to me, he could probably come back still

(30:33):
sling that thing around. And he was solid throughout his career.
You look at his stats. I think it was seven
of the ten years through for thirty eight hundred yards
or more. I mean even the last year he was
playing yet and I think it was like in ten games,
fifteen touchdowns, four interceptions before he got injured.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
So still has.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
Ten games, fifteen touchdown. That's not that great, I mean, right, but.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
I'm saying that if again, if you're looking I'm looking
at as a Texans or so, or if you're the
Steelers who feel like, man, we got some piece. We
just need a guy to come in here, do his
thing and not necessarily hurt us. That is a guy
you could do it. I just think it's just he's
not Josh Allen.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
You.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
It's just so New York Jets, like they really don't
have a game plan, they don't know, they don't know
what they're doing, and I don't know Aaron Glenn and
this what if he comes back and you're Aaron Glenn
and this is you know, you you stood up for
justin Fields and now you go and get Derek Carr
and they start out owing six not now what No,

(31:28):
I'm just saying, like, right now, what then it would
be like, well, you're the guy wanted Derek Carr. You
don't want guy wanted Justin Fields. I just think he
would be better off with a young quarterback. Try to
teach him, right, have this guy learn. If you struggle,
people can understand it because you don't have a quarterback, right,
you have a young guy trying to develop, and then

(31:50):
if you have a really bad record, you have a
chance to get a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
You see what I'm saying. You don't want to.

Speaker 4 (31:55):
Be in They don't want to be in the middle
where you could play well enough that you don't get
a top pick for your long term quarterback and.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
This six and eleven and just be like what was that?
You know? But again it's a different six and eleven
to me to your point, if I'm coming in and
I'm found my young guy, we're four or five six games,
and we got some momentumtories. We maybe we won three
the last four. At the end of the season, you're
building on something. Fans are excited, ownership is excited.

Speaker 5 (32:21):
You're like all right, we got something to go.

Speaker 1 (32:23):
Get a retread that doesn't have a lot around it
where it's not here.

Speaker 5 (32:28):
Again the Texans, we know that defense is there.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
Nico Collins comes back, you got some offensive pieces, and
again you look at it and say, man, we had
Derek Carr. He just doesn't turn it over and throw
it around a little bit. And now you got David
Montgomery and you're running back. You might be cooking with
something right if you wanted to challenge CD Strout. But
that's what I mean, where getting him? And that's why
the the Coats went and got Philip Rivers. They said,
we still got a bunch of weapons, We got a

(32:54):
cushion enough with the record that we're in it at
least we're still in the out yet. But I mean,
that was their logic, right as he can just come
in and win us literally one game? Was it one?
Maybe two that.

Speaker 5 (33:05):
We'd be in the postseason?

Speaker 4 (33:06):
So did you want to talk so far about how
bad that was if you really think about it, like
where they started, you know what I mean, what they
needed to just get to the play and they still
couldn't get it.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
Now I don't know.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
And now and then yeah, and then they actually tossed
the idea about him coming back Philip Rivers. Okay, all right,
all the way, we got your tire rec Player the
Day plus Shekel City.

Speaker 5 (33:28):
We will do that.

Speaker 1 (33:29):

Boozer has it, sends it over to the right. Howmenya
looks into the corner, sends it in sign for Cameron
Booster back up top. Howmenia of ball fake He'll drive
into the painted itza. Boozer catches down low, everybody gets airborne.
He put it up and in and he'll have a
chance for three.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
Larry Field Sports there on the call. That is your

Speaker 5 (34:44):
It is the way tire buy should be.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
And of course, of course, before we get there, your
Detroit Tigers creating an international incident.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
What they're gonna do? What do they do?

Speaker 4 (34:56):
They're playing an exhibition game against the Dominican Republic. The
WB see getting kicked off with exhibition games. Yeah, it's
eight to four. As all these home runs are flying out,
Soto has one too, Rob g right, I think Soto
hit one. Eight to four the Dominican Republic over your
Detroit Tigers.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (35:15):
What ending? It's still early is that?

Speaker 4 (35:17):
Yeah, okay, just keep hitting home runs, that's all. It's
like the fourth or fifth inx.

Speaker 2 (35:22):
So there you go, Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 5 (35:23):
Still got Maybe they had a few more home runs.
Get back in this thing.

Speaker 4 (35:26):
Shekel City, all right, checko City. You probably saw it
out on social media. We got it out there for you,
Me and Elijah one in one last night. Fifty eight
and thirty seven is the number we have. Not bad,
rob g. I'll be making money in Vegas. He used
to pooh, pooh my Shekel City. Not anymore. He doesn't

(35:48):
get any joy out of me telling him I'm twenty
one games over five hundred.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
What he said, soho, a set is on my ear?

Speaker 1 (35:55):
Wait?

Speaker 5 (35:55):
What was that all? He said?

Speaker 1 (35:56):
It was because you hit you with the Elijah reset.
That's what he said, is that whatever.

Speaker 4 (36:03):
I got Cleveland my best bet plus two and a half.
They currently lead the Pistons in Cleveland. What was it
six or eight? They're up by seven, So I got
two and a half points. I'm getting Cleveland host in Detroit.
I got Washington the Wizards plus fifteen and a half

(36:25):
playing at Orlando.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
We hit that fifteen and a half.

Speaker 5 (36:29):
That's just ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
And Charlotte the Hornets minus thirteen and a half. They're
hosting Dallas and currently that game is tied. So again,
Charlotte minus thirteen and a half the Wizards plus fifteen
and a half, and I got the Cavaliers plus two
and a half against the Pistons. And remember, I'm not

(36:50):
telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you who
I bet on.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
Wait who The Magic are favored by fifteen against who?

Speaker 2 (37:00):
The Wizards Mike fifteen and a half.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
It's not even like the Magic are like Dwight Howard
ain't walking through that door, you know what I mean? Like,
that's how bad the Wizards are, Like Orlandos have a
good team. We all expected, maybe even you could argue
that maybe underachieving a little bit.

Speaker 4 (37:19):
There used to be an electronics store in New York
when I was a kid growing up called the Wiz.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
I don't know if you've ever heard of that, The Wiz.

Speaker 1 (37:24):
I know, I only know the shout out to the
Wiz Michael Jackson and Diana Ross and then there you go.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
Yeah, that was, like I say, one of the all
time great weight remakes.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
You know of a movie.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
Yeah, but the slogan, the slogan was nobody beats the Wiz.
Nobody beats the Wiz. And in the case of the
Washington Wizards.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
Everybodybody, everybody, everybody wiz.

Speaker 5 (37:48):
I ain't lying about that.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
I more on.

Speaker 4 (37:50):
Man, they are so brutal. Can you imagine being a
basketball fan in DC?

Speaker 5 (37:55):
Dude, you know it's funny, all right.

Speaker 1 (37:57):
So if you can name staring at the camera so
you don't cheat three Wizards, I would be beyond impressed.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
I might even give you two.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Trey Young, Okay, don't look at Roche.

Speaker 5 (38:18):
Don't look here rock she to save you.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
Let me see somebody else got traded there? I should know.

Speaker 5 (38:25):
I'm not gonna have.

Speaker 1 (38:26):
Those are the only ones that you should have known.
I should know both of them.

Speaker 4 (38:29):
Why am I blanking on three one?

Speaker 1 (38:34):
Uh? He's often injured?

Speaker 2 (38:39):
Who else got traded there?

Speaker 5 (38:40):
Often often injured?

Speaker 2 (38:41):
Just tell me I forgot Anthony Davis. Anthony Davis, I
knew ad went there.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
I can't remember a d went from being the Pelican
we all were like. Man, if he ever just gets
a shot, he's great to a champion with the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
I can't even remember he's on the Wizards.

Speaker 1 (38:56):
That life comes at you fast, my boy.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
I'm telling you that's so bad that I couldn't even
remember he's on the Wizards.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
Man. It's this, I mean, look at it was it
Rashid Wallace, Chris Weber. Those are the only wizards and
bullets I remember
