Do it. Are we on YouTube tonight? We are. I think, Elijah,
we need the screen up. Who is it?
Speaker 6 (01:19):
Spot today.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Oh, Spot. Oh, here we are.
Speaker 7 (01:21):
Hey.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Thanks for spotting us.
Speaker 6 (01:22):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Thanks for spotting us.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Spot.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Hey, I ain't seen him in a minute.
Speaker 6 (01:26):
I can't believe he works here still.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
I know, Spot. A man. Probably going crazy in the gym.
That's all. Him. Chest day every day, Kelvin. We have it.
You know. But yes. And now I should say, we're
live on YouTube. Thank you, Bill. We appreciate that. Say
my name. Rob Parker. Say his name. Kelvin Washington.
Speaker 5 (01:45):
They are indeed the odd couple. Right here on a
Worship Wednesday. And guess what? Hallelujah. You'll need our phone
number because we are, without question, the most listener-friendly national
sports talk radio show on the planet.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Airbnb with Byron Bolaños. On the planet.
Speaker 6 (02:06):
Dan Patrick Fillon with Calvin Washington.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
On the planet.
Speaker 6 (02:11):
And I guess some guy overnight called Ben Mellor.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
There we go. At least when people are still awake, Ben.
That's what it counts. If you're not even going to
do the numbers to sleep, Rob, snoring. All right.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
Write it down. Commit it to memory. 877-99 on Fox.
For you laymen who can't figure out letters and numbers.
It's not trigonometry.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
It is 877-996-6369.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
And if you hear feedback on the line when you
do call in, it's your own fault. It means only
one thing.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
You forgot to. Turn down the radio. Turn it down.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
And if you call in here and have a problem
with what we say to you, tough, because.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Well, I'm talking to you the way I want to
talk to you. You have a problem, turn off your station.
There you go.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
And with that said, always remember... The.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Odd Couple was filmed in front of a live audience. Sweetie!
All right, let's go. Big show. Let me welcome in
my co-host. He is.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Kevin!
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Kelvin Washington.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Kevin!
Speaker 2 (03:12):
You all right over there, man? Washington. How could you
see me, Lou? You all right? Yeah, I'm good. Why?
I don't know. You seem to be using a little
more something to it.
Speaker 6 (03:21):
A little more pep in your step.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Yeah, you think, Alex? Yeah, you a little.
Speaker 6 (03:24):
A little down?
Speaker 2 (03:25):
A little downtrodden. Is the heat getting to you? Just a...
It is insanely hot out here.
Speaker 6 (03:31):
Kelvin, I just told Rob Parker this. The hottest recorded
day in history here.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
In California. And I've been here.
Speaker 6 (03:39):
Now 15 years. It's 114 driving in. We're hotter than Arizona.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
It feels like that. It's not even like, really? I
didn't even notice that. I think it's hotter. When you
put the camera on Monty when she does her update,
it'll be 120. Rob, caution. Hey, yo! I'm sorry, Monty.
Put the camera on Monty. Hold up. You know what?
The best part about it. I'm sorry. Did I offend you, Monty?
I'm sorry. The best part about it. Not even sort
(04:03):
of offended. Thank you.
Speaker 6 (04:04):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Monsi's embracing of it. That's what I love. Monsi, like,
oh my God, like, oh my God, no. I said
she's hot. Put the camera on me. That's all? Is
it a crime? True.
Speaker 6 (04:14):
Well, both of you are saying it's true.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
I appreciate that. But I'll say this. Fake modesty people,
oh my God, she's like, put it right here. Look
at your girl. But Monsi, This is like a running thing,
and I know we're not going to go long on this.
Hurry up. We got two minutes. You got two minutes.
Real quick. 30 seconds. But this whole thing.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
about guys who don't approach women anymore because he's a creep. Oh,
don't say anything to me. Don't look my way. You know,
so there's mixed messages. So now guys won't, like before,
would go, hey, how you doing in the supermarket? And
you're afraid to say anything because it might come off
the wrong way.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
So stats are 60% of men 18 to 24 have
never asked a woman out. No, go ask her out.
I was shaking in my boots. I had to go
up and.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Try to get a phone number. But you had to
do what you had to do when you had to
write it on that napkin. They don't know what to
write on a napkin.
Speaker 8 (05:07):
Can I ask a question? Yes. Number one, why are
you asking Monty this when she's happily engaged?
Speaker 2 (05:12):
No, I'm just saying.
Speaker 8 (05:13):
Number two, why are you asking Monty this when she's
almost 40 years old?
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Monty.
Speaker 8 (05:16):
She does not fit the 18 to 24 demographic that
you're discussing.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
No, but Monty's out. We're saying a lot of things.
You just broke the fourth wall, man. Number one. We're
saying a lot of things.
Speaker 6 (05:24):
I didn't know I was engaged.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
That's news to me. I was going to say. That's
news to me. Rob's all upset about it now. I
was going to ask you. What did I miss the engagement?
Rob G, you know you got to keep the secrets.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
The streets don't know nothing and they're viewing because they
think they got a chance.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
You done ruined it. Rob G, our downloads just went
down the drain. And she's only 28. Thank you.
Speaker 6 (05:46):
Thank you. Rob G, you're dead to me.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Rob G, you got a wife and two daughters. You
know how women are. You're dead to me. Monty, that
makes two of us now.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
No, dead. He's dead. I'm going to spit that drink
out right there. That makes two of us now.
Speaker 6 (06:00):
Might be the only time Rob G's actually done bad
at producing right there.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
All right, let's go. Let's welcome in the Odd Couple crew.
We wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without them. Rob G. No, I should say, dead. Dead G?
Dead G. Dead G, that's it. Dead G. Dead G.
Speaker 6 (06:18):
Dead Mexican?
Speaker 2 (06:19):
There you go. Okay, now that sounded crazy. Not right now.
The climate is a little too wild right now. Oh,
my bad. Yes, yes, we can't do that. All right,
now it's dead Alex, too. That whole room. Alex is
our engineer.
Speaker 9 (06:31):
Alex, you're a hidden talent.
Speaker 5 (06:32):
No doubt about it. Monty Bolaños is at the anchor desk.
She'll keep us updated.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
That's right. Married with five kids, apparently.
Speaker 5 (06:39):
There you go.
Speaker 6 (06:39):
Well, when I act, I am Latin, so I do
act as a mom. All my commercials when I was
doing acting, I was a mom with five.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Kids because I was Latina. Send them to me. No.
Not the kids.
Speaker 6 (06:48):
Oh, yeah, sure.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
And Spot is our social media guru.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
Never heard of him.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Yeah, Spot. What's up, bro? What up, man?
Speaker 5 (06:57):
He's on Covino and Rich. He's their producer. Yeah, I
ain't seen him since San Francisco.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
That's right. All right, Rob G., We got football. Unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Football season ready to kick off. And Drake Mays, one
of those guys playing tonight. He is playing tonight. Super
Bowl rematch between the Seahawks and the Patriots. Me and Calvin,
of course, both picked Seattle in that game. Rob picked
New England, but that's neither here nor there.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
No, I did not pick. Are you kidding? Can you
check my... The Super Bowl game?
Speaker 8 (07:24):
We have it on video, on wax, of you picking
the New England Patriots.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
What are you talking about? For tonight's game? No, he's
saying for last year.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Oh, oh.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
But in any event, yes. I have them not making
the playoffs this year. You got me picking them.
Speaker 8 (07:38):
Oh, that's a tease for hour two in Rob's NFL predictions.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Oh, yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
When is that? 5 o'clock. 8 p.m. Eastern. But, yes,
it is a big game tonight. Drake May is playing.
Speaker 8 (07:48):
He, of course, came one vote shy of winning the
MVP last season. And ESPN and The Athletic all surveyed
a bunch of executive scouts, coaches on the upcoming season.
And in one of the anonymous polls, this one coming
to The Athletic, they asked, which quarterback on a rookie
deal would you rather have for this season? Not moving
(08:10):
forward just this season. Who's the guy you like the most?
In a runaway of 20 votes, getting 12 of them,
Drake May way past Caleb Williams. Caleb only got five.
Everyone else only got one. They're telling you without telling you,
Drake May, not Caleb Williams, is the young QB you want.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
And they're not wrong. And it's close. Me and you
were talking about it, Rob G., going over the show,
and it is close.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
I understand the allure of Caleb Williams. Since he's been
probably 10, 12 years old, he has been fantastic. Goes
to Oklahoma, comes to USC, wins a Heisman. He's been
all of that.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
But.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
If you make me have to pick, then I'm picking
Drake May for a couple of different reasons. Listen, when
you play the quarterback position, one of the most important
things is accuracy. And you're talking about a guy in
Drake May, 72% completion percentage last year.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Caleb's was at 58.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
That sounds like somebody's age, not somebody's age. completion percentage.
And then you go to touchdowns, of course. Both of
them protected the ball pretty well. 8 for Drake May,
7 for Caleb. But then I'm also going to, again,
the touchdowns. You're looking at 31- Versus 27 for Caleb,
31 for Drake. And also what's interesting is the rushing yards.
(09:23):
Drake May is big, fast as well. He got you 450,
four touchdowns, and then Caleb around 380 as well. So
I'm looking at this as I think he's in a
better division to continue to be good, Rob, because we
know Tom Brady took full advantage of being in the
AFC least. Because he got to beat up on the
Dolphins and he got to beat up on the Jets
a couple times a year. And that's the same thing
(09:44):
Drake May every single year should be able to do
is beat up on those two teams and continue to
dominate and have a chance to have good numbers as
well as a chance to get into the postseason. And also,
I think Kayla Williams, again, we talked about this with
the four of the chiefs talked about the lions a
couple years ago benefiting from those last minute drives or
those last minute touchdowns where now of course you look
(10:05):
maybe better than you are we ignore the way you
play for three quarters or three and a half quarters
and again he is an incredible talent who i think
should take a step up he should But if you're
making me pick between the two, and I think Drake
May's team is going to have a tougher go because
the schedule is going to be heavier and more difficult.
But Drake May should be the better quarterback again this year.
(10:25):
And lastly, when your own quarterback, I mean, your own
coach had some issues with you throughout the season. That
also screens volumes to me where Ben Johnson was disappointed
oftentimes at the decision-making, at the turnovers, or at, again,
the completion percentage and how low it was. So if
you're asking, yes, if you're asking who has spectacular throws
in the one to two throws a game, Caleb. But
(10:47):
if I'm going to full fourth quarters and it's my
little hair on my chinny-chin-chin, give me Drake May, Rob.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
And I know. You disagree.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
I don't think you even watch the games because I'm
going to tell you this. I'm dead serious when I
say this. Drake May, and you just talk, everything you
talked about doesn't make any sense. He plays against the
Jets twice a year. He plays against Miami. They beat
one team over.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
500 last year.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
And you're going to talk about freaking completion percentage as
the reason you would pick somebody when he's beating teams.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
That aren't any good. No, let me make my statement.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
And then you're talking about all this other thing. Well,
you know, if it's just one, yeah, if you need
a throw to win the game, yeah, then maybe I
would take Caleb.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
That's what it's all about. It ain't about the stats.
It's about winning games.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
You can't teach what Caleb Williams has done.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
You can't teach it.
Speaker 5 (11:41):
You can get somebody, you can help people with their
form and do all this other stuff. People aren't able to.
to perform in those pressure situations. That's why people always
talk about clutch genes. That's why certain people can't do it.
That's why they fold in those situations. And the perfect
example for this guy who you're so high on, when
(12:02):
they got to the playoffs and they played the better teams,
he had a negative. 41 % Point two, EPA, the
worst playoff number. It was terrible against the best. He
was pressured 19 times. He threw 10 times off target,
which was a career high. Sacked six times, a career high.
(12:25):
Committed three turnovers.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
You ready?
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Negative 41.2 pass EPA. That's the worst playoff pass EPA
in next generation stats era. The other guys who were
terrible since 2000, Are you ready? Rex Grossman, Rich Gannett,
Cary Collins. That's the guy?
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Come on, man. You're not.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
You're being un- You just admit it. You're a Lions fan.
You hate Caleb Williams for whatever reason it is. And
I would respect you to just say that. To say
that Caleb Williams, because his percentage- Completion percentage is lower.
Explain the postseason. You always rip on Lamar. Well, you
got to get it done in the postseason. Wait, I
(13:06):
always rip on Lamar?
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Yeah, about the postseason. So I'm asking you, tell me,
explain your postseason. Wait, gladly. I'm glad you asked. Explain
the postseason for me.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Number one, the guy I just said, a year after
year and say is the best player in the NFL
is Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 5 (13:18):
No, I'm talking about the postseason. Yeah, because the postseason
numbers matter, don't they? So what, that 941?
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Right, and the guy that got to a Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
And you're acting as if the same guy, you, who
sit up here and yell to the heavens every single
day about the Chiefs and they can't get lucky this
year every year.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
And you said it, and I'll give you credit. You
were right.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
The same thing can apply to Caleb Williams. Him pulling
it out at the very last second, he did it
seven times last year. What if he goes two for five,
one for six, all for seven? Because the Chiefs didn't
do it. So you expect what I'm saying is a
guy who is doing nothing many games.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
I'm answering the question.
Speaker 5 (13:56):
I'm asking you about Drake May and the weak competition
he faces during the regular season.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
That's what I'm talking about. Drake may absolutely only beat
who was in front of him. I don't disagree with that.
We both said that during some of our segments. They
didn't play anybody. The Giants won't beat more teams over 500.
The Giants. But you also don't have to be good
or great in those games. We have seen people play
lesser competition and play down to their competition.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
He did not.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
And when he got into the postseason, his offensive line
let him down. And he wasn't great.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
I'm fully with you.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
It was the offensive line. It's only their fault, right?
I didn't say it was only their fault. I'm answering
your question. So what I'm saying is, Kayla, and the
funniest part is, you keep bringing up the Lions. You
are entirely more obsessed with the Lions than me, and
it's not even close.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
No, you're not. You pick the Lions every year. Stop it. Stop.
You are entirely more obsessed. You're a Lions fan. You
come in here with a Lions hoodie and a hat.
You're a Lions fan. Just admit it. Can you admit it?
Can you admit it? Are you a Lions fan, yes
or no? I'm not even going to answer that. Are
you a Lions fan? No, I'm not.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
No.
Speaker 8 (14:52):
Okay, yes.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Yes, you are.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Everybody in the world knows I'm a Lions fan. You
can't even be honest with yourself. Rob Parker, that is
the biggest duh in the world. Every single person.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Knows I'm a Lions fan. Anything you say about the
Lions or the NFC North, I can't buy into. Then
that's your own fault. I can't buy into. That's your
own fault. Because it's always based around the Lions and.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Whether or not what you want them to do. So
Caleb Williams looking bad. for three and a half quarters
in several games.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
It's about wins and losses. Stop it.
Speaker 6 (15:17):
Stop.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Look how obsessed you get. It's about wins and losses.
This is what I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
What is it about?
Speaker 5 (15:21):
You're obsessed.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
It ain't about no percentages. Stop it. It's all BS.
You are obsessed with Taylor Williams. You're talking about stats
that don't matter. It's about wins and losses. His own coach.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
You think people, you think people, when he threw a game,
when he touched went, oh, well, too bad he didn't
throw for 70% completion.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Bears fans are saying, why do we keep being in
this position? That's exactly what they were saying. Bears fans
were saying.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
Can we just beat somebody? You can't blame it all
on him. Stop it.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
I'm blaming on Caleb what Caleb did or didn't do.
Caleb Williams is incredibly talented. I'd like to sit here
and hear this all football season.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
I got to hear this. You do. I don't understand
what you're obsessed about. It's so ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
So let me ask you this. So whoever, name the sport.
I don't care if it's Pitt. We got baseball on
right now. we're not allowed to say, man, somebody can
get better next season? No, no.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
That's a raw part.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
God forbid somebody say, wow, Taylor Williams is crazy talented,
and I want him to put it together next year.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
It's ridiculous for the year that Caleb had last year.
His year wasn't great. The only thing you talk about,
it's about winning games. Don't tell me it wasn't great.
The Lions were supposed to win the division. Were the
Lions supposed to win the division? Obsession with the Lions.
Were the Bears supposed to win the division?
Speaker 2 (16:27):
I'm asking you. Who was supposed to win the division
last year? So, Wait. Who was supposed to win a division?
I don't know who was supposed to win a division.
All right, you don't know now.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Wait, when Michael Parsons got there, what was supposed to
be the Packers? The team that was 15-2. It wasn't
supposed to be the Packers?
Speaker 2 (16:40):
I just don't know.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
And then it's wins and losses, but it's not wins
for Drake May. But it's only wins for Caleb.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Who you beating? Caleb Williams. Depends on who you're beating.
It doesn't matter. I've always said that. I said it
about the Chiefs. You cherry pick. No, I don't. You
cherry pick. I say it all the time. Just like
you cherry pick Caleb.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
The guy who has a history winning Super Bowls and
Patrick Mahomes gets no grace for anything. But Caleb, who
has done anything, throw over 4,000 yards.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Bears still haven't had a quarterback throw over 4,000 yards.
What does that mean?
Speaker 5 (17:06):
Do you know what that means? They used to run
the football. They were the monsters of the Midwest. They
ran the football.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
I'm talking about Caleb. You're talking about they still love it.
I'm talking about Caleb. That was for a reason, though.
I'm talking about Caleb. That was for a reason.
Speaker 5 (17:19):
They ran the football at the Bears. I'm talking about Caleb.
All right, let's go.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
877-99 on Fox. You are obsessed with Caleb. No, you are. Yes,
you are.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
877-99 on Fox.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
Which young quarterback would you rather have? Drake May or
Caleb Williams?
Speaker 5 (17:36):
We'll continue that conversation next with you. I don't want
to have a conversation with you. Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington,
our Lions homer right here on Fox Sports Radio. Not
one time do I mention Lions.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Stick and stay.
Speaker 6 (17:48):
Especially if you don't think Monsey's a day over 28
in the U.S.
Speaker 5 (17:51):
Of A.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
That's funny. All right, check it out.
Speaker 1 (17:53):

Speaker 2 (20:26):
Who's better? Who you picking? Who we got?
Speaker 5 (20:28):
Let's start with Sean.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Sean in Sacramento. You're on the Odd Couple Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 8 (20:35):
Yo.
Speaker 7 (20:36):
Yeah, my uncle from another mother. Cousin Kelby and my
brothers behind the boys.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
What's up, Monsi?
Speaker 7 (20:43):
Real quick, man, congratulations to Monsi. Man, I didn't know
you and your dude was already engaged. And I know
you're Costa Rican, not Puerto Rican, but just like J-Lo, man,
you're holding up at 40, girl.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Keep it going. Unbelievable.
Speaker 9 (20:56):
Real quick, Rob, man.
Speaker 7 (20:58):
How you gonna call Kelvin obsessed when you got a
whole song singing to Caleb and his horse that was
transitioning all over this radio station.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
Last year, man? One is called a radio show. I
don't lose any sleep if Caleb wins or loses. Yes,
you do. We know I sit next to you every day, Rob.
I don't care. I really don't. Like, people think I'm obsessed.
Speaker 7 (21:16):
We all know there's only one guy you lose sleep over,
and that's Aaron Judge.
Speaker 9 (21:20):
But, man, the other thing I wanted.
Speaker 7 (21:22):
To point out is you were calling out wins and losses.
Didn't Drake May make it to the Super Bowl last year?
Speaker 5 (21:28):
No, but I'm talking about the problem I have is
who they beat, and I've said it about Tom Brady's career.
Every year they started with eight wins or seven wins
because of the– But were they wins?
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Hold on, hold on.
Speaker 9 (21:42):
I'm going to say that. Were they wins or were
they losses?
Speaker 5 (21:44):
No, I'm just saying that. And then when he played
in the postseason, I gave you the numbers. He was
awful against the playoff team.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
Awful. Not bad. Were they wins or losses? Sean, do
me a favor, Sean.
Speaker 7 (21:55):
They lost.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Don't look at the Super Bowl. Don't call up here, Sean,
making sense. How dare you call up here making sense, Sean?
What is wrong with you and the worship?
Speaker 7 (22:01):
You know you hung up on me yesterday, Kelvin.
Speaker 9 (22:03):
I had to make up for.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
It today, baby.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Yeah, you're back. You're back, Sean. Hang up on him, Alex. Hey, Sean. Sean,
I live in the present, baby. You good today, Sean.
Speaker 8 (22:09):
See?
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Hang up on him. Call back tomorrow, Sean. You on fire, baby.
Who's next? Is that David in San Diego? You're on
the Odd Couple. San Diego. Fox Sports Radio. What's up?
Speaker 4 (22:22):
What's up, guys? It's hot out here, boy.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
Man, you ain't lying. It's hot down in San Diego, too?
Speaker 4 (22:29):
Yeah, it's 103 right now, son.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
No, this is too much. Somebody got to repent, Monty.
They got us in hell. What is going on?
Speaker 4 (22:36):
It's probably Monty making it so hot, to be honest.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Ooh.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Man, Monty do make the show hot. What you got
for us?
Speaker 4 (22:43):
Hey, so before Rob can cut me off, isn't the quarterback,
the captain of the team, supposed to explode the game,
set the tone, keep the defense off the field, and
not in the fourth quarter for like three minutes be
Brett Favre, gunslinger?
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Oh, you mean Hall of Famer?
Speaker 5 (23:01):
You're right, Hall of Famer Brett Favre, who won three
MVPs in a row.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
That Brett Favre? Don't be doing that. You don't like
Brett Favre. Oh, that's the one? Is that the Brett
Favre you're talking about? Come on, David, fight. Is that
the one you're talking about? Keep fighting, David. Don't throw
in the towel, David.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
I was a gunslinger, too. I played Drake May all day.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 5 (23:22):
Go look at his numbers, please. They won't even make
the playoffs. You call me back when they don't make
the playoffs, David.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
Please. Appreciate you, David.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
David, bright, brilliant man. It's amazing, the callers that we have, man.
They're just amazing, smart people.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Greg Bedard, on the other side. Just read the comments
on the odd mob, and then I think you'll change
your mind on that. What they saying right now? Just
Rob G will have it. Go ahead. Rob G will
have it. Then you're going to get mad at Rob
G when he read them. No, I'm not. Because Rob
G has selective. He picks out. Now they're selective. See
what I mean? Read the comments, but then don't read
the comments. Alex read them the other day. And they
were flowing, Alex, right? They were flowing with comments about, Rob,
(23:58):
we appreciate you. Was I here? No, of course you
and Rob G were off. Me and Alex were here.
And Alex, am I right?
Speaker 6 (24:05):
Blowing things.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
They were like, thank you.
Speaker 5 (24:08):
Thank you so much for working and your hard work.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
And what you do. It's so true.
Speaker 6 (24:13):
They were like, I can't believe you guys are outstanding citizens,
unlike Kelvin and Rob G who don't care about us.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
It's big fun.
Speaker 6 (24:18):
Rob G is not a good citizen.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
He's dead G to you.
Speaker 6 (24:21):
He's dead G to me. He lied to the world
about you.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
I know.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Two things. Who knows what else he's lying about? He
knows good and well you never say a woman's age.
Speaker 6 (24:30):
He knows what he's doing.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
He knew what he was doing. I'm trying to figure
out what he got smoked. What you been doing?
Speaker 10 (24:34):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
I don't know. I hope he gains all his weight back.
I already told him. I already told him. I already
told him. So now, you know, that's what I hope for.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington. Weekdays at 7 p.m. Eastern,
4 p.m. Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
Greg Bedard, founder of BostonSportsJournal.com, is on with The Odd
Couple on a Worship Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
Greg, what's going on? How you doing?
Speaker 7 (25:01):
Hey, guys.
Speaker 9 (25:02):
What's going on?
Speaker 2 (25:03):
We're just yelling at each other. Per use, just how
we do it.
Speaker 9 (25:05):
Sounds like it.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
Yeah, I don't know if you heard it earlier. It's
all good. That's what it is.
Speaker 5 (25:09):
It's called the odd couple. You got to have a rub, Greg,
and I got a rub with the Patriots. I didn't
say a tug. I said a rub.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
All right, making sure.
Speaker 9 (25:17):
Yeah, I was wondering where you were going.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
Yeah, I'm just saying. You like to do chubs, too,
so you got to relax.
Speaker 5 (25:22):
All I'm going to say, Greg, is I'm expecting the
Patriots not to make the playoffs. I thought last year,
very fortunate. They beat one team over 500. I know
they're playing a AFC leashed and like Tom Brady used
to eat up with all the bad teams.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
But I just don't see them repeating what happened a
year ago. Yeah, I mean, look, it's valid.
Speaker 9 (25:45):
You know, in my mind, the only way I see
that is if the ridiculously good injury luck that they
had a year ago, they didn't have to put one regular–
a starter on season ending IR last year. I mean,
if that happens again, then they're going back to the playoffs.
If it goes the other way, you know, we're, we
could be looking like a sort of the commanders last
(26:07):
year after, after their NFC championship game run. But I think,
you know, I, I think they've done a good job
restocking the roster or at least adding in places where
they were weak last year. Of course, everybody knows about
AJ Brown. Romeo Dobbs. They, you know, they fortified the
offensive line with Elijah Barrett Tucker. We'll see how I
wasn't crazy about his camp. We'll see how he does tonight.
(26:29):
I think Jared Wilson moving from guard to center. He's
a much more natural player there. Will Campbell looks like
a completely different player this year. Now that he's healthy, stronger. And,
but I have a lot of questions about their defense.
They don't have much on the edge. They're going to
have to blitz to get past rush. They better hope
Christian Gonzalez and the rest of the secondary are are
the best in the league because they're going to have
(26:52):
to cover for a while, and we'll see how that goes.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
Hey, let me go here with you.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
Stay with them and Drake May specifically. Rob and I
were just going back and forth about it. I'll give
you three options. He either repeats about the same amount
of success, takes a step back, or even better.
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Which one of those three is more likely?
Speaker 9 (27:11):
Somewhere in the middle just because of the tougher schedule
that they're going to play this year, but You know,
I know internally they think the super bowl loss was
the best thing. And, and quite frankly, his post-season run,
which was underwhelming, they think it was the best thing
to happen at Drake may. He really, you know, he
really took a lot of things to heart. He got
(27:32):
a lot better. I think some of the, the, the
areas where the Seahawks exploited them in the super bowl,
as far as Drake being able to change protections and
things like that. He wasn't able to do much of
that last year. He can this year. And I just think,
you know, having a guy like A.J. Brown, who I
had my doubts about when they traded him, I thought
he was on the downside of his career. But, you know,
(27:56):
I got to tell you, he looks rejuvenated. I mean,
even the Eagles in the joint practice were remarking about,
you know, that he looks, you know, better, faster, rejuvenated,
all that kind of stuff. And, you know, I believe it.
And it's one of those, he's one of those guys
that even when he's covered, Drake make it throw on
the ball. He didn't have a guy like that last year.
(28:16):
And so I think he's going to have a really
good year. And I think a lot of it just
has to do with being in Josh McDaniel system for
a second year.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
He is Greg Bedard, founder of BostonSportsJournal.com, on with the
old hot couple, Rob and Kelvin, on a Worship Wednesday.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
So is there any truth to the rumor that Diana
Rossini is going to be working at BostonSportsJournal.com?
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Is she going to cover the Patriots for you guys?
No comment on that.
Speaker 5 (28:43):
What about the whole controversy and the scandal that went on?
I think it's not a big deal if they're able
to win, but if they don't win and they get
off to a bad start and they lose their first
four games... or some schedule like that people will start
to ask if it had an effect on their coach.
Speaker 9 (29:00):
Yeah you're absolutely right i mean that's the thing i
mean if they if they get off to a good
start nobody's going to care yeah if they get off
to a slow start which um you know they could
uh they have some formidable games i mean they have
they have pittsburgh when they get home next weekend or
week two but then they got to go to jacksonville
and play in that heat right and that's not going
to be an easy game and Yeah. If they don't
(29:22):
get off to a good start, all of a sudden
people start looking back on the off season being like,
was Rabel really dialed in? Was he doing what he
was supposed to do, including not being there on day
three of the draft? right you know some of those
draft picks don't pan out and uh yeah they a
lot of questions are going to be raised so you
know they better get off to a good start.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
I was switching up here a little bit uh because
i sit next to rob and he is dying with
every pitch against the red sox here where are they
right now as far as postseason i know we were
just looking at the standings he and i but what
do you make of just this last couple of months
for them kind of turning things around um struggling as
the last few nights but where are the red sox this.
Speaker 9 (30:02):
Season it's been unbelievable i mean from nobody cared about
them they were dead and buried uh to you know
all of a sudden they were the best team in
baseball and you know they could be getting some people
back like garrett crochet there's talk about him making like
his first start in the of the season in the
postseason and um You know, we'll see how that goes. But, yeah,
(30:24):
it's been unreal. You think they're going to turn into
a pumpkin at some point because you just look at
their lineup.
Speaker 5 (30:30):
That's how I look at it because I look at
the lineup. I don't know how they're winning. They're the
least home runs in the American. Like, none of it
makes sense.
Speaker 9 (30:39):
I mean, how long is Mickey Gasper going to be
playing like Mickey Mantle? I mean, it's just been, you know, unbelievable.
I mean, we'll see whether the Yankees can take care
of business because the way it looks now, the Red
Sox are probably going to have to go to the Bronx.
for the first round again. And, you know, the Yankees
just got judged back. Maybe that changes a bunch for them.
Speaker 5 (30:58):
I like their starting rotation. They got four studs at
the top of their rotation. That's what the Yankees have.
Other thing I'll say is a lot of people were wrong.
You know, like I think the Red Sox, they ripped
the front office for firing Cora.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
I get it. Cora won you a World Series and
all that other stuff.
Speaker 5 (31:15):
But the Phillies and the Red Sox both fired their
managers when things didn't get off to a good start.
The Mets didn't, and they wound up losing their season.
And now, look, they're winning, right? I think Boston, they
owe the front office fans an apology. I think that
they were ripping the front office, ripping everything that they did,
and they made the right choice.
Speaker 9 (31:36):
Yeah, I was a Cora guy. I'm a big Cora fan.
Hopefully he's back in the league next year. He just
wasn't a good fit for... you know, what the Red
Sox have had going on in the front office. You know,
they've turned into one of these organizations where basically, you know,
the analytics guys fill out the lineup and tell them
which moves to make. And Cora's more of a gut guy.
(31:59):
And it's, you know, it's served... The Red Sox really
well for a long time, but it just wasn't working anymore.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Last one for me real quick.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Just overall, what's happened with Bill Belichick down and just
the last couple, even his last year or so, and
with the Patriots now, what's going on in North Carolina?
Just where do you mean, you know, 45 seconds of
how you surmise what it's been for him?
Speaker 9 (32:21):
Yeah, I mean, it's been tough to watch from afar.
I mean, I just think Bill, for whatever reason, and
I don't know if it was the girlfriend or what just,
you know, started to approach the job in a different
way and sort of, you know, let go of the rope,
you know, the, his drafts and personnel moves were disastrous
down the stretch, cost him his job. I just don't
(32:42):
think he, his attention to detail is what it was.
I mean, for, for many years, the reason why the
Pacers are so great because Bill did the job of
like six people and, you know, now he maybe does
the job of one person and, and, you know, other
people aren't keeping up their end of the bargain. But, yeah,
(33:02):
it's been tough to watch from afar.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
All right.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
Appreciate it, man. Greg DeBard, thank you, brother. Founder of BostonSportsJournal.com.
You can follow him, Greg A. DeBard, I should say,
on X. Appreciate you, Greg.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
All right.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
Thanks, guys. Appreciate it. No doubt. All right.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
On the way, Sheckle City. See what Rob cooked up. Wait,
so this is the last telling us what you got
and starting fresh.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
All right. We'll do that. And also a comparison. To
the Yankees, we'll explain.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
It's the Odd Couple on a Worship Wednesday, Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (33:32):

a minute. Wednesday, Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington. We got God.
We do got God.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
Greg Bedard joined us moments ago. Founder of Boston Sports Journal.
Appreciate him. And if you missed that and any of
the show already, including me and Rob going at it
right at the top of the show, we didn't waste
no time.
Speaker 5 (34:09):

was saving it his energy because he knew he was
about to go that's you think you're slick that's what

is this the- Anniversary. Oh, I thought, yeah. That's unbelievable.
We'll start the third year with you. That'll be a
two-year anniversary.
Speaker 6 (34:46):
I can't believe it, Kelvin.
Speaker 2 (34:46):
Next Wednesday, two-year anniversary. You had me in a year
and a half or something. Year and a half, over
and under. Yeah, they all took money. Rob G., were
you in on that, too? Where are you at, Rob G.?
Rob G. said six months on the over-under on Kelvin.
You said the six months on me, Monty?
Speaker 6 (34:59):
How long Kelvin will last?
Speaker 5 (35:00):
How long Kelvin will last after replacing Chris? You said
six months.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
You had me over-under. Only six months on me, Monty.
Speaker 8 (35:05):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 6 (35:06):
I had to readjust my brain.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
We're talking about a show. How long you'll last for
a show? Girl, what you doing over there? She's over
there working. She's working. No, no, no. No, no, no.
Speaker 5 (35:16):
Next Wednesday is our second anniversary, which is crazy. And
we'll be starting our ninth year of doing The Odd Couple.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
Two years. Good job, guys.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
I like to say going into year three makes it
sound even bigger.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
No, but I'm just saying two full years. No, I know.
I'm saying keep going to year three. And then, you know,
he could wind up.
Speaker 5 (35:39):
We're doing the odd couple more than, longer than Chris.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
As far as when I'm here.
Speaker 6 (35:43):
Oh, that's funny.
Speaker 8 (35:44):
That's what I bet.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
Think about that.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
That was my bet.
Speaker 8 (35:46):
That dub was going to last longer than Chris did.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
Really?
Speaker 8 (35:48):
If only because Chris warned him, like, yo, man, this
is what you're getting into. Chris's eyes were wide open.
Chris called me and was like, hey, man, go check
your FedEx.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
I said, what is it? He said, some holy oil.
Speaker 6 (35:58):
That's not how he sounds.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Go ahead. A little cross on your forehead. Calvin. Let
me tell you about Rob.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Wait, what in the Chris Cowherd is going on over there?
It was a mixture of Broussard and Cowherd.
Speaker 10 (36:09):
No, Rob.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
You're crazy, Rob.
Speaker 6 (36:13):
That's pretty close.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
Yeah, Chris was at the high pitch.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
All right, let's go.
Speaker 5 (36:16):
All right, where are we at? Anyway, yeah, give me
a high couple of podcasts. Next week, we'll celebrate our
anniversary next Wednesday. Don't quit finding ways to get to.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
Year number cheesecake, man. Quit finding ways. You're going to
find another way. No cheesecake until after.
Speaker 5 (36:28):
When I come back from Kansas City for the celebration,
I'm bringing in champagne and cheesecake to celebrate.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
Champiple. Champiple and cheese. All right, let's get to Shackle City.
Welcome to Shackle City.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
The home base for Rob Parker's daily picks against the Sprats.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
Yo, the summer was wild, B. Elijah, thank you very much.
He's been forcing me to do this. Okay, that means
one and two.
Speaker 5 (36:59):
And we should wish Miss Elijah a happy birthday.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
Celebrate your big birthday.
Speaker 4 (37:06):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Here goes Rob G. About to tell her age, too. No,
don't say it. Boy, Rob G out here. Might as
well he know better. Yep. But anyway, here we go.
Speaker 5 (37:18):
Shekel City. And we're going to clean the slates after tonight.
So here we are, the last time. 1-2 last night.
2-13 and 195. We got the Seahawks minus three. That's
the best bet.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (37:31):
Hosting the Patriots. Got the Yankees minus one and a half.
Taking on the Rockies. And the Blue Jays minus one
and a half.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
Where are the Yankees at? What are they doing? Well,
the Yankees are 1-0. And I think the Blue Jays
already lost, right? I think they already lost. So I
had the Blue Jays.
Speaker 5 (37:48):
So again, Blue Jays minus 1.5, Yankees minus 1.5, and
the Seahawks minus 3.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
And these will count towards the news. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That'll be new. So we're starting fresh. So I could
be 3-0, 0-3, 1-2, whatever.
Speaker 10 (37:58):
Listen, man, 213-195, I'm not mad at that. I just
said it could be. I think the Blue Jays already lost. Normally,
he'd be like, I'm about to go 3-0, get off start.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
They lost, am I right? The Blue Jays lost already.
That's the only reason why.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
So, all right, if he had $ 100, 000 and he was
213 and 195, what did he do? If he started
with 100, he'd be at like 85.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
He would have lost money. Hey, what you got to
do to win money?
Speaker 8 (38:19):
You got to hit 57% to win money. Hey.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Rob hit about 52.
Speaker 8 (38:29):
So why do people be out here gambling? Because all they...
Gambling is like baseball. Like, the best guys are hitting, like, 60%.
Speaker 5 (38:36):
And all you want to do, and you know how
this is, if people just hit once in a while,
it feels that the.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
Or you stay big on the right game. It really is. Like,
when you win, you could be losing, losing, losing. And
then that one game you get it, and then you
win $ 5, 000. You feel like a king. Like, it's a
big rush. They would hate me.
Speaker 1 (38:55):
That's why people... Do it. Yeah, I saw a homeboy
do this, and I was like, that's exactly how. Just
go in there, put a couple hundred down, hit it,
say you won 500 baggers, and walked out.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Literally. Are you ready to go eat? One hand.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
And I'm like, that's how you do it. You just go,
you won, cool, walk out. If you lost, just 100, 200.
That's why I do the parlays. When I do football.
Just 20 bucks, whatever. I bet 50 bucks. I pick
three games. If you win that.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
It's $ 500. Yeah, I see where it's worth it. No, $ 350.
So you win like $ 350.
Speaker 4 (39:25):
You bet.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
$ 50.
Speaker 5 (39:30):
You wouldn't take– I look at it as walking around
with money. You know what I mean? Like, I just
go out to lunch. I'll fill my car up. That's
all I'm looking for. I'm not trying to, like, break
the bank.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
You're still going to get those chicken steaks, too, even
if you want 300. You're still going to be trying
to find the steak that was marked as a drumstick.
Speaker 5 (39:46):
One thing I've never done is I've never, like, tried
to change prices on a– like, people do that.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
I just couldn't do it. Really? Like, rip it off? Yeah,
take one off and put it on another.
Speaker 6 (39:55):
Oh, I take advantage of the self-checkout.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
You know what I would do?
Speaker 1 (39:57):
I'll be the first one out. I'll be, I'll see
you in hour six. If you don't stop it, I'll
see you.
Speaker 6 (40:01):
This ain't organic.
